So, basically holding USDT, for example, guarantees that your crypto dollar is --supposedly-- always worth a dollar. However, they have failed numerous times to prove this, therefore causing the price to fluctuate. DiamCoin on the other hand guarantees that your dollar is always worth its equivalent in diamonds, which means that you're storing value in a far more stable asset. If, at a certain point the dollar collapses in comparison to diamonds, DiamCoin might chose to change the way we value our coin to benefit you, ditching the dollar.

Then, there's also the adoption issue: Mainstream stablecoins haven't managed to get used by the public in everyday transactions, making them a store of value --like gold-- but not real money. We're aiming to change primarily that, so we can help transition into an electronic money culture!

You know, usually as soon as you hear diamonds or real gold or what not, just take your money and run. It is almost safe to say it's a scam and has nothing to do with decentralization either. Whenever backing is involved, you are dealing with a highly centralized service that you need to put a lot of trust into. Not what we are here for.

Regarding verification of diamonds possesion, we'll make our first auditing public as soon as it's conducted, which will be before the public can purchase any DiamCoin. So you don't have to worry about that.

Now, regarding the thread bumping that has been in discussion in this thread, all we can say is that the people running our bounty campaign unilaterally decided to do this and that we're looking into it. For now, we've given instructions to remove everything related to BitcoinTalk from the bounty. We've also made a point to take a good hard look at how the bounty is being done to avoid more episodes like this. We never intend to break any rules (either BitcoinTalk's or any others), and deeply care about investors' trust.

This is the usual scenario so this is why ICO projects were already hard to get enough funds and became successful for many are not trusting this process anymore and many ICO are scam. Others states that 80-90% of ICO are just scan. Think of that numbet which is really great to which it will scare off the investors.

Many ICOs are failed to raise to the soft cap levels. Low prices don't let investors sell their token and get the new coins. Icos also know this fact and they are considering their behavior conducted to the market situation.

It's definitely true that ICOs are not an attractive model anymore. Pretty much everyone who holded after the ICO boom got rekt and is holding their tokens to the grave. Now, we see this as positive. What makes this coin different than pax,usdt etc etc?

More than anything, being backed by a redeemable asset. For example, until lately, you couldn't go to PAXOS and demand them to give you USD in exchange for your coin. Now you can, but that's still not true for Tether, which is not even audited.

When it comes to competing with PAXOS, then, the main difference is that we're backed by an asset. You can exchange your DIAM for physical diamonds at a discount... which means that you get more than your currency's worth in physical stones.

If this coin is really backed by physical diamonds then I have to say this is a brilliant idea. Something like that would definitely give more stability to a coin in a volatile market (if you ask me anyways).. Good stuff!

It has been proven time and again that u cant make a 100% backed coin and it doesnt matter what the source of ur backing is. U just cant back anything with the commodity u do not own.
