hi, it's been a long time since I have access mew I usually store my tokens on an exchange because I'm an active trader. does myetherwallet is on a new look? I just need to be sure, Im being skeptical to use the website because of its new look, it might be a phishing website.

It's legitimate and they indeed just had a re-design recently. There are some articles on the web about this if you're interested:

how about sticking to cold storage?
you can do it with MEW too! it already has that option. just head over to their github repository[1] and download the source code. you can run the "website" by opening the index.html file. then its just a matter of entering your private key, getting your address (if you don't have it already), transferring that address to an online computer to create a transaction and then getting that tx to the same offline computer to sign and then taking it to the online computer to broadcast.
so basically 3 steps:
1. online: create a raw unsigned transaction
2. offline: sign the transaction with private key
3. online: broadcast

I still using MEW wallet without any problem but after checking the https://vintage.myetherwallet.com/ this sub domain of their site doesn't work just testing just now.

It seems that they are temporary down well I have my own backup on Metamask so it's not a problem.

You can use Metamask as an alternative if you feel not safe.

I can say it is still the same MEW with better features and good interface.

I also verify that they have a new interface.

I'll take my part on what you said here, you may be an active trader but you shouldn't put all of your tokens on any exchange. That isn't enough reason to store most of your funds there. I advise you to put only what you afford to lose and don't trust exchange that much.

Second this. MetaMask is a better choice for me because you can use it without exposing your private key or something like that. It also supports sending tokens now so for me MyEtherWallet is no longer needed. But they're still good though, still a good alternative especially after the new update. Interestingly, Etherscan also updates their looks now. It looks more modern and trendy.

Yes yesterday I was also surprised that myetherwallet did change its appearance, at first I was confused when I wanted to access it, I had to do it repeatedly to make sure.
But I am satisfied with the new appearance now, in terms of appearance I now look more attractive, character and elegance. And this new version also gives users the opportunity to exchange tokens comfortably.
The launch of the fifth version of Myetherwallet is said to help improve user experience and improve security by enhancing a new security feature called SendSafe to help verify other addresses before making transactions.

I was confused at first with this new look too. What I did to ensure I was on the right website is check the URL. I checked the URL letter by letter making sure there are no strange characters, no dots above or below the letters, and so on. You get the point. If you can check the URL and confirm that it is indeed https://www.myetherwallet.com and not something else, you can be sure you are at the right place. Then you don't have to rely on the answers of other people. Just saying, for similar situations in the future.

You can always bookmark the page to avoid confusion. MEW always recommends doing so each time you access the site.

I use MEW from time to time, with the new interface i couldn't find the option to see the wallet with address only (i just went to etherscan instead)

Anyone has found a way to check it that way (address only)?

I did notice the changes too and I have the same feeling as you that it's a phishing site because of the new look but I do see a link in the site about the news of MEW about changing the looks of mew.

I couldn't find it as well. Well, if you prefer to do address lookups on MyEtherWallet rather than on other sites like EtherScan, you can freely go back to the legacy or "vintage" version of MEW[1] and do the lookup there instead.

Might be a slight hassle, but at least the option is there.

The change on MEW interface sounds a trendy one on the crypto world so a simple search will surely gave you answer. Anyhow, that's what I like for those who are confused, getting the feedback from the community first before engaging into it as a safety precaution.

The new MEW is the MEW you have known before. That's the legit MEW and nothing else. Of course always input the correct URL and bookmark it for future reference.

I just noticed now they have redesigned website. That's not phishing site since website address is same. I am also not using mew since I am actively trading on exchange. That's why I don't need to store token. But if anyone want to hold for long time then I would like to suggest use wallet with private key. Holding long time on exchange isn't safe to me. And always try to bookmark all important websites, so you will not confuse.

I have read this, MEW integrated Kyber’s liquidity protocol on April 2018, allowing millions of users to access and convert tokens directly and easily on their platform without going to third-party sites.
I'm a little confused because I haven't done it before, whether it's forkdelta and the like? I want a little direction from experienced people.

Seems like most of the eth based decentralized services have recently improved their designs and user interfaces for example just have a look at etherscan and ethplorer as well they seem to have improved as well.

The MyEtherWallet have good update and you can see it in the user interface. I just access my MyEtherWallet few days ago and I am so amazed on it's new update where you can the develop use interface of the website but it's hard to know where you can put your private key and that is my first problem when i first access it.

most of those sites (like the explorers) are doing these changes because they are in a competition and they want more traffic so that they can get better banner  ads and make more money.
so if they don't change their interfaces and remain bad, they will lose the race and become obsolete.

I think yes. Same as etherscan that recently change their website look. To prevent you from accesing fake website or phising website, you better bookmark it, or use metamask.

MEW's and etherscan's look have been changed a few days ago and if you enter the correct site you will not have problems.

You were not the only one who was surprised by the new interface of the myetherwallet site. At first I was wary, but thanks to the bitcointalk theme, I realized that everything was ok. By the way, ETHERSCAN also changed its appearance.

I also see some interface changes in Myetherwallet and Etherscan. At first time when I signed in again, I am quite surprise and thought that I entered the wrong address. It's so nicer than old one

From time to time the MEW site has made improvements in terms of security and interface. It was wrong for the users if they were caught in a phishing website because MEW had told them to avoid it on the first page.

Yes, a few days ago MEW has updated their interface very new, so you can still use it safely. They are a very secure website so there will be no hacking

yep it is original MEW they just change the design and looks good to me, but can't find to access my address just to check my wallet, I hope they add it just like the old one.

So far MEW looks more reliable than many exchanges, I think that the new offline wallet from MEW is very convenient, but I'll wait a little more before use it to the full.

I use Myetherwallet to store coins that are held in the long term, to protect myself it is best not to go into the wallet if there is no need and you need to download the browser extension.

There were little changes made to their outlook design and it's no flag off of a phshing site,but it's great your alert when it comes to security,and you ask questions when you see something strange,you will hardly fall a victim to little scams if you continue this way.
But if i'm to advice you,i will simply advice against keeping coins in exchanges,i know it can be a difficult one for active traders not to do,but you'll be safer storing your coins in a preferred wallet(hardware wallets most preferably)

and be careful with fake metamask plugins, which will steal private key data easily. make sure to download Metamask on the official website.
phishing metamask is mainly in the browser chrome plugin, be careful and check everything

Either MEW and Etherscan also have a new look today, I also actually had the chance to be quite shocking, especially for the etherscan.io , it looks too stiff, maybe it would be better if the etherscan used the old look. For MEW that was only to login and send the tokens, i think it would be a big problem for future.

Yeah that seems to be the case, they have a new design. It's beautiful, but for me, it doesn't makes any difference, as long as you know how to used MEW and setting up transactions then you're good to go. Of course everyone should be mindful of the correct URL otherwise you might end up losing your tokens because of phishing and DNS spoofing.

You coud go to Myetherwallet website through their twitter page to be 100% sure.  Then you can bookmark the website for future use. The real twitter page has blue checkmark

MEW has some new features and a more robust user interface right now. But please confirm the website from MEW twitter page, to be sure. Please be mindful of the sites you input your private key, or better still use a web 3 browser extension like metamask.

Yes, myetherwallet now has a new version but if you used to use the old version then for now you can also use the old version, by pressing the home menu, I also use the old version myself.

Actually the MEW now was updated the site and if we look at it we can tell all our tokens are gone but eventually are in there. And ill think it was new for us to use MEW now but it was easy to understand and the important for this is the safety of our altcoins.

Since I started using MyEtherWallet ( MEW ) until now there is changes on it but there are some other features they add on it like now , the token you have can be directly see it's info in the etherscan and they minimize the amount of gas fee or ether fee in requesting a transactions.

What I did is to import my ether wallet unto Imtoken app which makes my transaction fast and smooth since I have been using it. The reason why i did this is because, repeated login of myetherwallet can make it vulnerable to attack.

yes, it has a new interface. It seems to be harder to see and harder to handle than the previous version.
But we need to get used to it, this is a pretty modern interface and MEW needs to update to be able to compete with many other wallet systems. Look carefully, don't make mistakes when sending money. ;)

Me too, at first did not understand where I got, the first thought is that this is a phishing site. You did the right thing to contact the question, you should always be careful in crypto, this is the key to success.

this is indeed an update made by MEW, but you can still open vintage MEW and the display is still the same as the one before. and when I check it, my token is still safe.

Im to shock also on when i open the MEW site, I thought it is a phising sit but when i'm asking to the other people it was said it is a new update of MEW. But it was better to use it now and can download this in your phone.

All you need is to import your details into trust wallet or imtoken wallet and then use t from there

Yeah sure, MEW no have new look after they update, but the system I think still the same like the old one, mybe it make you confuse because you never check your mew for long time

I know many people maybe shocked when the first time looking a new UI from MEW (including myself). I quite impressed with the new UI of MEW because it looks more modern and more user-friendly booth for expert and newbie users. (IMO).
Honestly, MEW now looks better than MyCrypto...

For those who have a problem in connection ETC in myeterwallet CX you can add custom network/node : Ethereum Commonwealth Geth and it will work.

I asked my brother the same question last week when I used mew after a very long time. The design is new its mew legitimate website. Or better still you can check if you've visited the site before to ensure it's really mew you're accessing.

It is legitimate and you can actually read it on the internet. You should try and download metamask too to avoid pishing websites.

Actually new look little bit annoying for me,lot of details make it hard for me to understand what I am doing.But I hope the new UI will also updated with security of the wallet which may save the wallet users from phishing sites.

Yes myetherwallet has new look, I recently discover this I also thought im in wrong site since the design is different compared to before because I rarely check my holdings. Im storing my erc tokens using mew so im also worried when the changes has been made.

I barely use. MEW but yes, it upgraded its website and now have a new UI. You have nothing to be scared of. Also you leaving your assets on an exchange requires a lot of nerves when we see all that have been going on with exchanges this periods.

It's okay, just the site has undergone a redesign and become more functional. If you are afraid to fall into the trap of scammers, I advise you to save the site in bookmarks. You can also install the plugin in your browser, which will warn you if you notice a spoofing address.

You can upgrade to an older version of the site if you wish. I agree with you a new image of the site is very similar to a typical Scam site) and I would advise you to be sure to save the site and check it.

Yes, Mew has recently change the website look. However, please ensure that you are at the correct website address since there are always many phishing attempts on MEW.

I already left MyEtherWallet because of the recent domain redirection that happens, I am now using Exodus and Mycrypto they are both safer but I'm also looking forward to buying a hardware wallet once I accumulated more tokens to my wallet.

Same as you I didn't access my MEW. For almost six months now since most of my coins was stored to exchange site I also saw that there is a new MEW  update but have no time to explore it since I have no coins to store or need to withdraw.

It is not a good idea to put all your tokens on exchanges, as they can get hacked any time. If you are not comfortable with MEW, then you can use it with Metamask. I think it is quite safe.

Ok maybe already told by other people above. But the vital point are secure your private key in hidden and safest place. And if you are using metamask, it's no needed for access the MEW website anymore. So you can avoid your self from phising link of MEW.

Periodic updates are useful and important, as this is done to improve security and convenience. But in any case, your careful and proper storage of the private key is the most important security factor for your peace of mind.

It is a bad idea to store your tokens on an exchange platform. Leaving your tokens on an exchange platform is like parking your car with the key inside the car. Once the site is attacked by hackers, your tokens are definitely gonna go along with all the coins available on the platform at the time of the hack. In as much that you are a active trader, please don't leave your tokens of the platform whiles you are offline. 

MyEtherWallet now upgraded and the network now looks awesome. Another thing is not completely save saving funds on exchange site, saving coins on wallet is much more preferable.

Yes, by the time that op asked the question MEW underwent through an interface change.

Back in January, I noticed that MEW had a new look. As far as I understood from the messages of the owners on Twitter, that their team was divided into two parts, one of which continued to work on MEW, the other half began to make their new projects. It is still difficult for me to work on a wallet with a new design, it's good that there is a function to use the old design.

Same thing with me, didn’t notice a great new look of MEW and i think its a legit site. I’ve stopped using my MEW because I don’t participate on bounties anymore because of so many failed projects i hope there will be more good developments with MEW not just on the look but also with their security system.

I've also took a little break from using my ethereum walet and a few days ago just had to use it and saw the new design. I was a bit surprised because it thought this is a completely new website but after a few minutes I quickly got used to it and I kind of like it now,even though I used a lot the old version and I miss it

Are you guys satisfied about the new MEW website? Or still wanted the vintage site to come back? though it is still accessible but there comes a time that MEW will delete it to permanently implement the new one. One disadvantage for me is that, I cannot find the etherscan eth explorer on it.

i think many times, how can i enter a phishing site while i always bookmark all important links including myetherwallet.
but after finding out more, it turned out that the look of myetherwallet had changed and it wasn't a phishing site.

No need to worry as long as you already bookmark the original mew site  . if you are still doubting then check the websites url , you can easily figured out if the mew site that your using is real or fake   . in my case i recently access the mew site and i like how the new update was  .  the text and colors are more  cooler and seems to be verry attractive than compared to the previous version  .  i hope that the wallets security is also improved . since mew is a popular wallet that hackers loved to target the most  .

It's already been a while that MEW change it's UI. and also it implement several new features for us, and I think that is for safety reason that it being created that way, because accessing our wallet using private key is so much unsafe.

At first, I was on doubt to open myEtherwallet. Just like you, i also did not open it from the past few months and was hesistant to enter my private keys as well. But i do read some feedbacks and from what I have read, it does upgraded the features making it easier to use. I keep myself be familiar with the new designs and i do like how it looks now.

Some etherium apps have made me forget about mew completely, Imtoken for instance made accessing my coins and tokens easy, going through the web platform of mew now appears like a herculean task. Besides the fear of hack when one wrongly goes through a phising link mistakingly caused me to avoid it completely, with Imtoken, I do not need to enter my private key anytime I need to access my account

Yes, they have made an upgrade like several months ago and I am also not happy with their new design. But the developers were so nice and have left the old version, that you can chose on the upper side of myetherwallet.com

Everything in our world is updated sooner or later. And especially sites, you just need to get used to it. Everything new is strange.

I, too, have recently for a long time didn't go to the MEW.If I need to look something-looked in my wallet through ethplorer.The coins I trade on the stock exchanges.And was a little surprised by the change in MEW design.At first I was scared,but then on the forum I read about the change of design.Already accustomed.

Yeah, change was a long time ago, and now in my opinion it has better interface. Usefulness and the creation of the mobile app made it more beneficial.

It seems to me that the ethereal wallet has become not only better thanks to the new interface, but its use has become much easier. In most cases I use MEW with the help of Android and I am now observing unhindered actions, compared to past brakes.

I also think that the wallet has not changed much. just added more convenient features. I totally like new updates

But we could still use the old site and that is what I am doing everytime I use MEW.
I think it is better to keep it that way because I get used to it.

This is the most common wallet for ether. In addition, now there have updated the design and now it looks quite interesting.

It is not the old one, mate you have good experience with it but you have heard right now we should know that mew site had made imperilments, as it has become more reliable and safe than before, as I personally when tried it after long time, I become so surprised to see as it was having new well developed features but I must say this one is better than old one.

Despite the change in the interface of MEW, I stole do not have much confidence to use it, because of any form of DNS attack again. Although, I do not know if that has been totally resolved, but I do every transactions through imtoken, which I feel is safer.

The spread of  news in the crypto space is not like in the traditional media. The introduction of the new interface of mew was  a sudden thing for most people who have not visited their MEW wallet for quite sometime now. To stay updated about such important issues in the near future, you need to read more crypto news from trusted outlets.

NAh, the website is totally upgraded to a new look which is better than before, they added several changes for a better use.
Still, it is secured to use and i feel more comfortable on what they did.

You should not use an exchange to store your coins. MEW has since been upgraded to have more security features with the MEW connect.

I haven't accessed myetherwallet from through web for months now. After the last hack news, I think in 2017 or so, I have been very skeptical to use through web. Thanks to Imtoken, I just imported my MEW there and access.

if many of them feel safe and more comfortable with change of course they will still use it and not move to another.
that's a good thing, because there are better updates so it's more comfortable to use, maybe more people will use it with an updated website because  it's better.

Quite risky to store your coins/tokens to exchange people have been warned so many times about the risk, but anyway it's your decision since you're a trader, I have not login to MEW too, I prefer using MYCRYPTO's desktop version I find it much safer and easy to use too.

Haven't used MYCRYPTO for my eth tokens. Always MEW. Might take a look at it. But yes, the OP should consider a better way of storing his tokens other than exchanges. Even an active trader should spread his wealth to different exchanges or outlets, to avoid unnecessary situations in the future.

Same here. I was on my toes the first time I accessed after a long break. It looked and felt different I thought I was on a different wallet. But then I really likes the changes, atleast compared to the old mew where when and if you're a newbie, surething you wouldnt know your way around. I liked the changes all in all.

Same here, i always try to keep my tokens in exchanges because this way seems with more securty options. You can go to your MEW with your private key and this is big problem i think. But in exchanges you can use google autenticator and the SMS messaging password at the same time. Also you can add e-mail confirmation to this 2 steps. I would recommend everyone to keep their tokens in trustful exchanges..

The old MEW format is still accessible. With the recent update I some trouble transferring tokens using MEW with Ledger. I still can’t figure out why sometimes the confirmation popup shows and sometimes it doesn’t.

Just like you I've been using MEW for a years maybe the interface has been change but in terms of its usage, it is so far so good as the way I used

If indeed you are an active trader then you do not need to use a wallet to save your coins.  Exchange is the right choice to save your coins so that the trade you do can be more smoothly. But if you want to keep some coins that you have in mew then it's safer. I think the appearance of mew doesn't change much. The most important thing is that you still remember your wallet address and the password you use because that is the most important part.

At first I thought I thought I was on a phishing site because I took a break form crypto.  Then I went back and looked at the twitter posts for the myetherwallet account and realized they updated the site.

Lol, yes, MEW changes its face since several months.  As long as you access the legit website there is nothing to worry about.

Also, you can opt for using the old version of MEW, too.

Their new interface doesn’t really change much things, there are no much additional added features, if they really want to be on top of their games, they need to be more pushy because we have lots of competitors rising up against it.

This army of competitors such as Binance Chain will definitely come up with a better wallet with great features and more beautiful interface than that of ether wallet, and when that time comes, many ether wallet users may migrate to Binance chain to take advantages of the opportunities that will be available using these great Binance features.

The only thing I can still vouch for ethereum is that it will never die and may still remain at the top still.

They have a good interface to get more familiar with, better check other people's reviews on their blog and also from youtube, I'm not using any web-based wallet anymore from any coin, the desktop version is more secure, exodus and mycrypto, you should diversify your portfolio.

As a saying goes, Don't put your eggs in a one basket. This is the story that make you feel how to keep your token. To be able to have a safe one, I think you only put on the wallet with your trusted coin wallet.

This is what I really did to my funds from MyEtherWallet into Metamask or Coinomi. That is why we need to diversify our funds from one wallet to another incase one will be compromised. Nowadays, we should be aware of our surroundings most especially if we are talking about investments. Probably everyone, but some people still visit the website often but not as before, I think that it's because of the wallet app of different kinds around now and accessing or making transactions in there always seems complex back then not sure about the improvements done to it now.

Yes, MEW design is updated by the developers. By the way, new site features are exciting and it worth to test it with opening a new ETH wallet. The aces with private keys are not advised and that's why OP lives in the trouble.

and you have to bookmark the myetherwallet site so that you don't mistakenly visit the phishing site.

So I heard MEW has updated but truly I have not accessed my wallet for a long time after the hacking issue. So many other erc20 wallets are giving it a good competition.

Mew of course updated a long time ago , at first it also seemed that it is phishing , but checked the address that it is completely the same , and then realized that it is updated , I would recommend to go through metamsk

When I saw it also , it took me time to understand it. It’s an upgrade and it’s a cool one. Nothing to worry or panic about. Just play around the site and familiarize yourself with it. Otherwise you can import your keys to imtoken or Trust wallet.

It was not a phishing website they have new user interface and all I can say that their new look was currently amazing and they upgrade their security and it was like you are storing on a cold wallet, well at first I didn't know how to access my wallet but when I explore it I see my wallet but I don't know how to access my token like where is the etherscan.

I think that now there are big and successful whales that have already managed to save a lot of really cool projects and they are mainly on the ETH platform, so using MEW as a whole is probably a successful skill.

yes myetherwallet is on a new look and you can use the old theme of myetherwallet if you want to, just click link of "missing the VINTAGE MEW" in the top of site.

Yes, the increase is very much needed because it is for the sake of security when we use it, so it is clear that we must familiarize ourselves with the new one because it is not left behind by others, nothing to worry about.

Indeed there is a new look but can also use the old view following the steps, but i think you should choose on future if you plan to hold a lot of tokens or coins with value, to buy a hardware wallet.

As far as i know its already been updated long time ago so its better to know those things early to learn how it works and follow the new methods of access. But for me it doesn't change at all.

But to ensure that is the real myetherwallet website, you need to take a look of the website address to check.
