Title: What new categories of bounty would you like to see?
Post by: blockchain2k on February 28, 2019, 01:06:20 PM
We are preparing for our ICO launch and I would like to take a step further and engage the existing and upcoming bounty-hunters with a personal question.

When you participate in a bounty programme it normally offers the classic categories: Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, Signature, Translation and some sort of content creation.

Is there a new kind of bounty you would like to pursue?

We are preparing for an ICO launch for our project https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4732575.400 and we would like to make the bounties spicier!

Well I think this suggestion is not new but not all of the campaign offer this... It's a creative campaign where in you're going to create any creative idea a good example is a infographic contents about the project itself so it is a less boring rather than reading a full text (not all people prefer text) and also if a participant can offer his/her talent in art maybe he/she can do a infographic of the whole whitepaper of the project.

But this requires a time and effort... and creativity as well but most of the projects are offering the social media campaign because they need a traffic rather than this kind of campaign.

The categories i want to see about new bounty projects or icos are the legitimacy and on the bounty projects they mucst pay participants every month to ensure that even the ico fails bounty hunters who promote the p3 will be payed as they work for it. because pm the year 2018 a lot of ico fails and bounty hunters are not payed for it so some are disappointed on it. so hopefully the new and next bounty projects will payed bounty hunters every month

I would like to see automated bounty programs. With no sending weekly reports. There are some great bounty websites, i would recommend everyone to join them and work easy. Which are; Bounty0x, Bounty Suite, Bounty Hive and Bounty Hunters. I am working with all four website in last 1 year and never had problem with any of them. They paid me on time always!

What kind of project you want to create bdw?  But if I can suggest you must made a community manager campaign and bug bounty campaign. With CM you can made your community growth in every country then Bug bounty are important to know your security hole if it needed.

For me, it is no so much about classic or novel categories. The classic categories are just fine. It is more about how the campaign is managed.

For example, is the bounty manager strict enough to eliminate spam and low quality posts or not? Most campaign managers tolerate very low quality posts, which makes no justice to the campaign and to this forum as well. So, try to hire a good manager. There are quite a few here on this forum.

Another point worth considering is giving additional rewards to bounty hunters that produce quality content (for example, merited posts, blog posts of exceptional quality, great videos, etc).

So, again, I would like to see that quality is rewarded much more over quantity.

This is a good point that you made. We should also look for some other kinds of bounty programs. Though these are not bad and should be continued but there should be some more kind of bounties.

To be frank it needs to be genuine and honest to the bounty campaigners, yes ICO's have disappointed multiple times nowadays as they are not paid on time also a lot them turn out to be a scammer. Bounty hunters get nothing after every stuff Even if they reach the soft cap, so trust is foremost important here.

I do not know a new kind of bounty either, but it would be a great thing to be paid weekly or every 14 days in eth. Such a bounty would certainly be something special and would certainly appeal to many people.

Non-classical reward is memes. They can be used to further promote the project. And some hunters have a high sense of humor. Yes, and on the Internet and blogs, such content can easily be promoted.

Professional video. Some of the hunters create such. With good sound and animation.

what about making memes? this can be a different campaign and may be used by the team for advertising. making articles or videos too mainstream now, I think making good pictures can be an alternative.

Typical bounty campaigns are not enough good to make a good hype about the new project. If you go through a weekly paid BTC/ETH campaign then your bounty campaign will be more hyped, popular and it will catch more people's eyes! If you are a real project then I believe you have funds and spend some fund behind a good promotion which will be worked out! I prefer the Signature and Twitter campaign for a weekly paid bounty.

I think reddit has also become an important campaign nowadays so do consider that also i will like to suggest you that if you launch a bounty campaign for your campaign give max importance and percentage to signature campaign as it is the best targetted marketing direct to the community, so if get 100 plus signature participants you will easily get the required attention from the community.

Strange that you're asking which campaign we would like to be added when it should be you who should know where to market your ICO. Anyway, some are already promoting on instagram and linkedin.

I am actually fine with the current platforms, I would rather appreciate if the team can have clear bounty rules from the beginning instead of putting "we reserve the right to change......." and then just insert new rules in the end.

Creative campaigns were great. I think I have already faced some campaigns that offered tokens for creating telegram stickers, memes, gifs and so on. I think it is quite interesting and makes a lot of fun for both parties.

i think that more or less the categories of bounty are those social networks, signature, translations, creative content and video, not in the categories but in the ways of payments the bounty should change as for example with weekly payments, extra token if the ico / bounty is prolonged and the use of escrow...

I think that ways we could earn better bounty reward instead of waiting for months before receiving payments for the completed tasks. Scam projects will be eliminated of bounty categories will be like that. Confidence of every hunters will be brought up and more people will gain more trust with crypto, because they've seem to feel more comfort seeing that the project could sustain paying while project isn't yet having completion of their ICO period.

I can't think of something new when it comes to another kind of bounty.
How about the popular avatar campaign only? this has been popular before and if its not alone, it will be included to the signature campaign.
Those who wants to have it only through avatar can have an option to wear or not your signature.

I guess I am really tired of ICOs after experiencing lots of scams. I also wanted to diversify my capital in different types of domains but they hardly helped me in preventing losses. I mean I am not interested in investing into any new category of ICOs and then their bounty programs. I will just opt for staying away from the markets for some times.

Like different kinds of bounty games and contests with some interesting prizes. Also airdrops and referral contests are good I think. Lotteries and different kinds of chat quiz as well.

The simplest solution would be to use well established coins, like bitcoin as a rewarding system. I would rather go for a tiny bounty in bitcoin than vague promises of high profits in tokens.

As to new ideas in mass promotion, maybe any mention like; profile photo, profile description, links in instant communicators could get rewarded as well? Sometimes a communicator gives users an option to set up their status, for others to see. This could be useful for promotional campaigns.
My second thought is physical advertisement. Things like bumper-stickers, small road side banners, T-shirts (even hand drawn). A little hard to track but hey, cameras are everywhere these days.

As a bounty hunter, I think it's necessary not to add new campaigns, but to make changes to existing ones. This may sound silly, but I would suggest arranging a lottery for low ranked users on the forum to play out the possibility of charging stakes for a Signature campaign as Hero/Legendary.

Perhaps not so popular, but very useful for the future product will be a programming campaign. I believe that this is a great opportunity to attract developers, but you need to offer a high reward, because it is a huge work and it requires a decent payment.

the new categories bounty concept, if it can be prepared is a kind of Vlog, which explains gift products, the benefits of being an introduction to the crypto world and also useful as an attraction for others to use cryptocurrency.

You no longer need to add a bounty campaign category, because the bounty hunter needs is you can prevent and ban some bounty hunters who try to cheat like multiple accounts.

Most of the campaigns are really ineffective so concentrating on signature will be more effective but I don't want to see the projects paying tokens, it should get more people interested when they are paying with bitcoin and any other listed cryptocurrencies.

I think its not about the catagories all bothering the bounty hunter, its about how you pay to our work. Many bounty campaign doesn't give the payment if the ICO not reach soft cap to bounty hunter. Its weird when we finish your job but don't get the payment. we work, spend our time, not just register and do nothing. Payment its big issue if you want you do a bounty campaign

Its better if you will add a promoter tasks with weekly payment rather than bounty campaigns because some of ICO/STO nowadays are using a promotion with an everyday tasks too like bounty but has a many shares than a typical bounty. For example, 20 shares/day in fb groups, 5 tweets/retweets etc.

My suggestion would be to reward people who posts an article on linkedin groups that is related to bitcoin or cryptocurrency, I think some of the investors who doesn't have an account in the forum will tend to find news on linked groups, I see serious discussions there.

OP aren't the one who sent PM to me which you discussed about your upcoming ICO and asking whether I can be a beta tester?  Is this still the marketplace project you mentioned?

Introducing a new form of campaign is unnecessary and not needed at this very moment, bounty hunters for over a year now have experienced a dearth in quality projects and more and more failed projects, and this has nothing to with the sort of campaign, as every participant Carries out their task in their various departments.
The issue is the quality of the projects, the idea, the team, the feasibility behind their vision. Those are what matters most and as long as you can get that right, your project will be successful and you need not worry about change of or introduction of new campaigns

I would like to see weekly rewards, (i.e. more stakes) for best poster in signature campaign. That would increase effort and quality of posts and increase chance that investor will be attracted by your product. And bounty without kyc  :)

Best of all is not the category of bounty campaign, but payment for participation expressed in Ethereum, Bitcoins or any other already known coin. That is what attracts a large number of participants with high-quality accounts and posts.

I would like to see some tasks for creativity, where you may promote the project, its idea in some not standard way, but you may be able to get reward for your creative actions. There were some campaigns where some sort of such kind tasks were used. It would be great.

I do not quite understand what is the point in coming up with new types of bounty? In my opinion, standard types of Bounty such as - twitter, facebook, campaign signatures, and writing articles - this is enough to be able to promote any project. If you come up with something new, it’s not a fact that it can somehow help.

Of course, each of us can speak out not about the payment of our work in the Bounty companies, but the type is not less than all our activities boil down to the fact that lately the work of the Bounty Hunters is practically not paid. First of all, this is due to the poor development of projects, which ultimately leads to the fact that coins are not valued at all. Based on this, it turns out that the person worked, but in the end he received unnecessary tokens to anyone.

I would not mind receiving rewards in Ethereum or Bitcoin. Although In an extreme case, it would be possible to divide the salary into several parts, among which you can receive both tokens and ethereum, as well as Bitcoin. My sure that no one will go.

I think the simplest of signature campaign here is the best there is because it allows anyone to join and it creates a big site wide talk about it, you may not talk about the coin but at least whatever you talk about people see it at the signature part. It is not the highest quality marketing out there but it still manages to get your name heard if you are an unknown new coin.

After that I suppose affiliate links have never been a big deal in bounty, I would love to get paid but I would also like to get an affiliate link which if a person from my link funds the project I should get a bit in return as well, sounds a bit like mlm but I don't know how it would be like any other way.

Those two would make great advertisement without really changing much in the bounty world.

Like a lay down rule for all bounty managers from a source or probably there's a organization where all of them have to be a member and follow the major rules given, mostly act according to people complain and know what project to take. Another thing is if possible there can be another payment source apart from the coin.

I don't think there will be a lot of additions to the campaigns we're used to seeing in all campaigns, but I still want to share some ideas that I'm thinking about. Although there is a request listed under the social media category, Pinterest events will also provide a nice interaction. I've never been to Pinterest about anything I've attended or looked at. Another activity can be banner-style advertising campaigns on websites. If supported by an advanced system, the ability to display, click and reference earnings will surely provide interaction. In addition, in this type of campaign, if the prizes are distributed plentifully, it will be a much more attractive option for those who are webmasters.

I think that it would be better to use more realistic methods, but you should understand that real money is needed to implement normal advertising. This is probably the biggest part of the problem that today is solved with the help of tokens.

I suggest not to ask about category but the prize, many of us hunters are struggling to every ICO who has scammed us or the reward is delay for some months, I hope you can offer like the reward will be 50% tokens and the half is eth or btc, I think in this way many bounty hunters will join especially if the reward is es-crowed.

Yes it is one of the good campaign to add to bounties but more important for bounty to be effective is they need to maintain quality but nowadays bounties are filled with spams so which makes no sense of advertisement here and more over no real person is reading that since most of them were done by bots on many campaigns.

It seems to me that a good option for one another type of bounty would be a reward for daily visits to the website. The participant visits the project site every day, receives some reward, and the project receives high attendance and popularity.

I am not just looking to see a new category of bounty but we just need a lot of genuine bounty in our space, imagine spending a lot of time doing promotions for a platform and they end up sending you coins that will never have worth even in years to come.

We need bounties that people can actually use to make a source of leaving for themselves and not just hoping that the 2 bounty would pay you out of 20 done.

I would be glad to see a good and high-quality bounty company with already existing sections, as in my opinion there are quite a lot of them at the moment and they are enough, but there is a problem with the quality of their implementation on both sides.

I am personally very interested in the signature campaign and content creation. Instagram Bounty seems worthy of consideration. Suggestion, make a bounty to create graph info or something (one-pager) about the outline of the project that you made, it seems interesting.

Some bounty campaign are not good enough to make a good impression about the new project. If they go through a BTC/ETH weekly paid system then your bounty campaign will more popular. l believe you have funds for promoting the project. Weekly paid Signature and Twitter campaign are preferable to me.

How about you add a new paymentethod for your bounty, say the one where you pay participants in stable coins on a weekly bases based on their activities. Talking about bounty category, there should be creative campaigns and ambassador campaigns as well.

You are right buddy because if payments are not made the bounty is of no use.. I was also wondering what if the allocation initially was 100k$, upon distribution of bounty rewards it's valued at 20k I would always prefer payment in stable coins as they don't depreciate that much in value unlike ICOs this days.

This is so much agreeable, since lately many bounty campaign reward has so little value, if compared with the effort that any bounty participant has been done, the reward is so much not worth it.

If i can choose maybe too much bounty type not really good because allocation for each campaign maybe reduced.  ;D And there are nothing else that can spread information about crypto effectively.

Signature campaigns are still my favorite, and I think it's very effective to promote a project.
and for all categories it seems enough, because all social media platforms are currently used to promote the ICO project, what if it makes it more interesting? for example limiting the number of participants for Facebook and Twitter, especially if you pay participants using ETH or BTC, I think it will attract many people to promote your project, and they work more passionately.

I get annoyed by the weekly reports. I have no time to waste time sending them.
I participated in the Securypto campaign, and I liked that any new information, including information about the transfer of tokens to the wallet, came to me by mail. This approach is located.
Well, the most important thing is payment. When for many months of work the project pays 2-5 dollars, it is insulting. Need a decent payment!

And I think you have already mentioned it all, for now, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, Signature, Translation is all good and all it takes for a successful ICO, but one more thing you need to put into consideration is to ensure your project Is viable and your teams are strong and have credible records which I believe you have looked into.

We are looking forward to read your whitepaper and also participate in your ICO launch, kindly also ensure your bounty hunters who will work hard to promote your project are promptly paid.

I think content bounty should be in your priority! Therefore I also think a weekly ETH/BTC paying will be helpful. At this moment many bounty campaigns are paying weekly through their own tokens, that is not enough helpful I think. Bounty hunter wants their hard work's rewards, so if you pay them weekly in ETH then your project will get a good crowd and there will be no fear of token dump by the bounty hunter.

Title: Re: What new categories of bounty would you like to see?

I do not know a new kind of bounty either, but it would be a great thing to be paid weekly or every 14 days in eth. Such a bounty would certainly be something special and would certainly appeal to many people.
Paying bounty hunters on a weekly or bi-weekly basis is not realistic. Too much work for the ICO team. But payment on a monthly basis, especially in those projects where ICOs last four to six, and even more than a month, is quite realistic. In some ICO projects, they do. It would also be nice if half of the funds were paid in new tokens, and the other half were in ethereum.

I think few other categories of bounty will not going to help but to just divide the accumulation of tokens, it is much better to focus on the best ones such as Facebook, Twitter, youtube, and bitcointalk forum, that will going to be more efficient.

Strange that you're asking which campaign we would like to be added when it should be you who should know where to market your ICO. Anyway, some are already promoting on instagram and linkedin.

Others have Reddit and blogs/Youtube in their bounties as well.

IMO, I think that bounty projects should be more mindful on how to campaign is managed, rather than just adding more categories. What I don't like about some bounty campaigns is how it just generates a lot of noise. Its annoying and the project doesn't get properly promoted anyway. Most become spam because of how bounty hunters are trying to maximize their profit.

I am actually fine with the current platforms, I would rather appreciate if the team can have clear bounty rules from the beginning instead of putting "we reserve the right to change......." and then just insert new rules in the end.

I think it's within their right to be able to change the rules however its unfair when they sometimes abuse it.

I will be fine with bounty projects that can control dumpers as far as I get paid in the end ,they either pay hunters in usdt or ETH or even bitcoin and only let investors buy tokens of the ICO so that price won't suffer from dumps but the best category of bounty is still signature but some projects pays low % to signature campaign and Facebook or twitter gets the highest % percentage

The best rule or categories for new bounty programs that i desire is the willingness t reduce participants .

For facebook, twitter, reddit, blogs, signature amongst other options. There needs to be a minimum amount of bounty participants for every section of the campaign.

For example;

Facebook - 500 participants
twitter - 500 participants
signature - 200 participants.
reddit - 100 participants.
Blog - 500 participants.

this way the forum experiences more value, more content and plagiarism of articles or spinnng of articles will experience a major demise and spamming of social media profiles will end as well.

The normal categories of bounties as mentioned are still good, but I always like a system whereby the project in question uses an automated system on its websites, where stakes are automatically awarded (immediate stakes) at the execution of every task.
For instance, while making Facebook posts through the links provided on your websites. The stakes should be awarded directly, which should also be done daily.

Hi Huntler1993. This is exactly what I have gathered so far, there have been many instances where the bounty hunters do not get paid and the ICO project is not being fully truthful. I don't think is there any new categories alive. Because in bounties, the project offers several kinds of campaigns like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Content, Signature, VK, Instagram, Youtube, Reddit, Meme, Logo, Translation everything! So, I don't see a new category we need or that can be helpful for the community! To make success your bounty campaign, you should limit the participants and make an exact timeline for the bounty. Good Luck with your project.

A good category for a bounty would be a section where people could come up with their own unique ideas for promoting the project. Here people could come up with all kind of methods, for example someone could hold a speach to a specific audience about your project. I don't know what else they could do, because nothing comes to my mind right now but I am sure there are tons of other ways to promote a project other than those basic categories that each bounty has.

If we have a tendency to participate within the bounty campaign concerning signatures, articles, videos and translate, the results are positively larger. delivery also can get nice results if we've got plenty of referrals, however there's still an oversized quantity of financial gain attained once collaborating during a bounty program. the purpose is that financial gain from a bounty is larger than delivery.

you are right, this is not a matter of theory and planing their marketing that can not be run by the bounty hunter. but I think the concept and investor confidence which can not be obtained. It is really good that you are taking kind of survey before launching project about bounty campaigns.
I have seen different campaigns with different projects
For your project if KYC is necessary, you can launch website registration campaign. I this token can be given to subscription to news letter, website registration, and KYC.
Next, to involve other medias, you can also launch LinkedIn, Reddit and medium(follow and clap to article) campaign.
Also I have seen YouTube video sharing campaign. New launched videos can be shared to different social medias by bounty Hunters.

I voted for promotion via signature campaign that pay for participants in BTC, not tokens.
And, payment will be counted per post, not per week, but payments will be sent out on weekly basis.
Are there opportunities to see such campaign launched in the future with your ICO?

1. LIMIT THE PARTICIPANTS (Ex: 2000~3000 Participants only on social media campaign) so everyone can get worth reward
2. Bounty Allocation please make minimum 3% from its total supply
3. NO KYC, please
4. No Newbie allowed to participate
5. Please don't make Bounty Duration too long (please just 2~3 months only)
6. No Token lock for a long time and no distribution delay after the bounty end

One more essential thing to make sure that the coming bounty will catch attention of bounty hunters, and get their participations.
Please using Escrow Service from trusted members for the Funds used for all kinds of promotions.
It will build up better reliability for the project's promotions.

2k to 3k participants is already huge enough for a social media campaign or even on the signature campaign . i cant imagine if what would the reward look like be .  for me i think  a bounty must only accept not over a 100 user or 100 could be the max if the bounty has a good budget . that is to control and manage the campaign smoothly while at the same time bounty participants can also get a good reward .

I dont have any complaints about your other suggestions . lets hope that bounties will be that way in the future  .

Please do a buyback program like 50% of the tokens can be sold to your project but it could be an option. In that way, there will be no conflict in the future like changing the allocation, KYC or other crap to cheat bounty hunters so they will not dump your tokens massively. I also miss bounties that reward bitcoin or eth so if only it's okay then we bounty hunters will truly appreciate it.

Steemit bounties, Steemit is like social media of crypto world unlike facebook (where rarely any crypto enthusiasts are found), Twitter — steemit is much better way to draw attention to project.

I think to include telegram signature is also great way of marketing a project though its not a new idea but I don't rlsee a lot of campaign offering the campaign in their bounty.

A lot of crypto enthusiastic are on telegram even more that any other forum, so asking your hunters to put up your project logo on their avatar and the website link of your project in front of their name it's a great way of advertising, your project will be well know to all crypto enthusiastic.

effective or not the media used for marketing I think that depends on the project's objectives. we can see there are some projects not even doing bounties. they publish marketing from the media and advertising carried out by the team itself.

I dont even think categories would be making a new kind of bounty since there are so many kinds of bounty.

yes it has become a scope in the ICO project, the gift program offers a variety of categories of choices to promote the project in several ways as you say. in my opinion one of the new breakthroughs can be through WA, WeChat or similar applications. this seems good for ico promotion.

Current bounty categories is fine with me. My concern is that the  payment for our work done is very long if not uncertain. May I suggest, for people to be interested and to create hype for the ICO, why not create an attractive mode of payment, like shortened the time in receiving tokens,  make it weekly payment so that people will be more attentive in doing task every week  if they can see that they are being payed.  Bounty regulations must be clear from the start, no additional rules and no KYC, please.  Thanks.

Create a platform where bounty hunters can create account and do daily tasks and this platform will calculate daily tasks automatically for Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Steemit, telegram, Signature, translation, Reddit tasks. You can also add VK bounty because VK is now a growing popular social media like facebook.

We have got something very similar published. Check out our ANN thread here! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123256) 24 hours old!

Actually, I am pretty happy with amount of campaigns offered by major bounty managers. The only thing that bothers me is the payment method, why do projects still pay with their tokens instead of ETH of BTC to protect their own token from dump?

Hi igor.vanyutin.83! We are going to offer a new line of bounty campaigns. The payment is going to be with our utility token only which will help people to adopt its use on our marketplace. We are going to educate our bounty hunters about our project and its growth potential to keep them away from dumping the token right away! Also, our target audience is most likely going to be interested in keeping the token for their own usage purposes.

Please avoid something like referral campaign and any other invitation thing, because in my opinion it's useless, most of them are not or a person with multiple account. I will prefer something creativity, that could attract people to join the community and being a supporter. And it will totally great if you escrow the bounty funds so more people will believe and join the campaign.

Thank you everyone for your input! We are going to offer an exceptional bounty campaign on the Bitcointalk forum talk, because we are going to utilise our projects product in order to conduct it. I will consider a few ideas from this thread to the bounty hunting more interesting.  :)

You can learn more about the project on the official ANN thread here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123256

We have yet to publish the Bounty Campaign thread.

I think maintaining the normal categories of bounties is just what you should do instead of creating more and having few participants and unnecessary allocations so i think just set up the normal way and have a good allocation and you will have quality hunters on your projects

Find bug or error in your website or quality or a meme contest about your project, something like that would be interesting to join, and also it is great to have an automatic report when doing social media campaign, it will be easy and clean for us.

I think best suggestion if you can is pay with BTC or ETH and not tokens which most bounty hunters will dump when it hits exchanges. This is also a great advantage to the investors because no bounty participants will sell tokens, investors will have total control of the market so their investment will be worth it.
