I was thinking, I already did some money with BTC, ETH, XMR and a lot of other coins, but there are a coin I never gained a penny

XRP - Ripple
This coins always tricked me, when I bought a lot of coins, the coin fall in value
After I sold every single coin I have, XRP reached his ATH I never thought it was possible, when XRP hits number 2, only behind BTC

There are quite a lot of similar examples. As far as I understood, by your example, you simply chose an uncomfortable entry point to a token, it turns out that you just waxed it at the peak and didn’t work, and in principle you can earn money on any token but provided you find a good entry point.

Yes sure, but in my opinion, there are some coins that are hard to predict any move, like Bitcoin SV for example, I'll never try to buy any coin

Well i also not made money with SDRN and some ERC20 tokens, afte i buy it drop a lot and never recover and i never tried again to invest on tokens, i think is hard to make money with tokens.

I believe it was ETH and I still think that 1400 USD per coin is not so much. I have bought some coins for 85 USD during the last months and I am still waiting for the prices to recover and to reach the new historical records.

I have never invested or earned on an XRP coin, either, because I don't like this coin very much, as it is not very volatile on the market.

I have invested in many coins including ripple but I have not made any loses yet since I still hold and haven't sold. You only lose once you sell.

Counting or making list of failed projects, (yes failed cos they never gave me any profit at all so I term them fail) will be a long one. But am still very much optimistic and hopeful. One might wake up to impress me someday.

But how long do you plan to hold ripple? I lose a lot of money by holding ada thats why I decided to give up all of them and find a great altcoin project, if you follow ada price movement you will see what I'm talking about but those mistake on buying altcoin give me strenght to double check the history of project.

Or Stellar or Golemn either. They seem to run very flat lately (in USD) and don't really seem to move much when Bitcoin price increases.

I think with Ripple I've just been unlucky - just seem to miss out when its price increases.

I once was 'tricked' into doing some bounty campaigns for AVINOC, that was the biggest mistake I've ever made and put me off doing any sort of bounty campaign for good.
Looked like a silly project from the beginning, should have known better at the time really.

I think everyone has their own cursed coins. I have some. XRP, ZIL and SYS... When I buy this coins, its prices goes down and never rise again. But when I sell them, prices starts to rise in a day...

Beware about XRP theit project seems to be manipulated by whales. Remember the time it was overtake eth on 2nd spot on market cap? This is the time xrp and their whole league creating mass shilling and thats the time they dragged many investors on the pump. I guess blue chips have their own pump and dump coins as well.

I am still hodling some Ripple but because I bought them ATH at around $3 yes I never made any money with this psuedo-cryptocurrency. Some are saying that this got enormous potential but considering its circulating supply it can take a lot of demand and adoption before it can get back to the $3 level. I am actually planning to soon dispose of them and convert them to bitcoin (especially now that btc is on dip which is the best time to add more btc).

That's too unfortunate for you, I myself didn't invest to XRP because I know that it's all time high will be difficult to reach again. I think that you've learned the lesson that before investing to another coin, you must know what's the potential of it.

If someone bought ETH and never sold, there's still a chance for him to recover. 1 ETH = 1 ETH same as bitcoin. And if you haven't sold you still have the coin and you're not yet in lose. The value has decreased a lot but it won't be lessen unless you sell it.

your problem is not about choosing the coin and it is not about luck either. it is all about your timing which is the most important thing in the altcoin market even more than any other markets because in here most of the coins are only viable options for trading during a very short amount of time since their pumps only last that much.
so all you have to do is to work on your timings. with a little bit better entry and exit you can eliminate these types of losses.

To me,  there are lots of coins have never make a penny from.  Most of the coins in my wallet are just there some have even use more than a year and still never got listed,  some are listed but if I trade it am at lose.

I also came across coins that fell.I had it with reddcoin. I bought it for 21 satoshi, and he fell to 9 and began to hold him, and when the course soared to 58 satoshi, I sold it, thus fixed the profit. But I had to wait 6 months.

Fortunately, every coins that I have always given me a profit, but the profit will not the same between one coin to another coin. I can get a bigger profit from some coin, but for the other coins, I can get small or medium profit, and I am fine with that. For XRP, I've got a big profit in the last year because I buy XRP at the low price and suddenly, the price increased for few steps and I am following the price and get more than 3 times of profit, and that makes me get a bigger profit.

I have so many crypto that I invested that made me lose some money.
I invested in some ICO's that also turns to be scam so I couldn't really list all of them since there are so many to be listed.

I had two such "cool" projects - TraceTo (T2T) and Current (CRNC). The first one is sadness and pain, if you look at the price chart, the second project still only promises.

Ever since 2017, I made investments with at least three dozen different altcoins. But in around 25% of the cases, I lost almost my entire capital. One example was Siacoin. I purchased a few coins for $0.10 apiece in 2018. Now they are almost 97% down. I can't even sell these coins because their net worth is now lower than the exchange withdrawal fee.  >:(

Xrp has also changed many holders life financially so basically everytime you have sold at the wrong time, if you know a coin is legit and team is active and you are able to get the dip i think you should hold untill you see a big peak or spike and if satisfied only then you can sell to take profit.

I invested in many coins which made me lost my money especially in ICOs. Some ICOs looked like great coins but ended up to be scams.

maybe you bought xrp at the TOP price my friend, then you sell your xrp when the price down hard even going to the bottom

I have the same story as you and for that I have never invested there and for now I only have the option to invest in bitcoin and ethereum

There is a long list of coins where i have not been able to make any profit rather sold in loss and now finally i have changed my strategy and i have decided to stay in btc amd eth only and accumulate both of them as much as i can instead of holding dozens of sh*tcoins, and i am sure i will be very happy due to this when we see new btc and eth peaks.

Buying coins you hope to get rich quickly and get xx. But the question is: when to sell or continue to hold and enjoy the greenery in your wallet. Altcoins grow much slower than BTC and ether. I don't like XRP, but I have a few of them. Now I have bought XLM  and beleive that its price will grow

There is a lot of coin in the Crypto market that I haven't benefited from, it is not possible to benefit from all of the coin we have in the Crypto market since we have new coins being launched into the crypto space everyday, though one of the popular coin I have never benefited from is litecoin, I don't really know why I never bought the coin when I knew that it's going to moon, though I have some now.

I bought ripple when it is $3 each on January 2018 with the bloom of ethereum but I decided that I buy ripple hoping that I could make gains on it. The result from today is that what happened is the opposite. A month after I bought it, it became 90% less and goes less than $1 again. But it was only $30 that I invested and left me a lesson that don't buy at a coin that you feel on its peak price already.

You must be more patient in playing in crypto currencies. You must not give up and regret. Make everything that happens in your life especially in crypto currency as a lesson and experience. Indeed the price of crypto currencies always fluctuates rapidly so you have to be smart in implementing strategies and taking opportunities. You can learn from your mistakes. I am sure if you always take the positive side of every situation then one day you will get the benefits you expect.

There many coins holder ouy there and they are tired in waiting if those coins can be profitable but until now nothings happen and i have a good project that i can recommend and this project has the potential coins that we hold and sell soon and this project is the Dencoin tokens.

Good that I do not read with Ripple. LOL. You know, many guys here will argue with you as they are real fans of this currency. As for the profit, my choice was the first 20 altcoins, and I gained thanks to them during the bull run.

The most recent IEO I participated in was my most rewarding. Just one slot on Binance exchange got me HarmonyOne coins which I sold at x8. I am getting ready for the next rounds which I hope it favors me aswell

I also have stories similar to yours, but not on XRP. BAT, yes at that coin I always enter in the wrong moment so that I can hardly get a profit and until the time I give up and not try again.

in the current situation we can critically not get any profit for our investment because that development is very slow for every currency in sometimes it will going to the negative side that's why the investment on Bitcoin will be more preferred by anyone who are beginning here and also the experience the people makes the investment in 8.

I can say it is actually Bitcoin, because I've been trading mostly Bitcoin and made money with altcoins. Bitcoin is just a safe asset to keep money away from high volatility to me and others are for making money.

Bitcoin is "safe" compared to all altcoin, but it is also a huge volatile asset. Do you see a safe asset that increased 3 times in just two months

There are lots of coins still don't get the value for the the currencies still now so we cannot say this currency is not profitable in anyway everyone has its own unique feature in sometimes we need to agree that can make this from that otherwise don't criticize anything

Ripple token - XRP - is pretty stable, there was only one peak in its history from 0.3$ to 3$. But it shoud works as a stable coin for banks that should use it for international crossboard payments.

My worst investment ever is Stratis.

Hope that this coin will one day pump again that I can sell it immediately.  ;D

Well, I think the new coins from ICO that are newly listed on some exchanges. All of them have dropped prices, as usual, that is why I never get the profits from them. Likely APOD, Hubrisone, and more others. However, never mind, just HODL it for long-term investment and wait for a bigger price coming to gain more money.

It seems not only for XRP, because I have often felt this. When we buy an altcoin, the price decreases and when we sell it. The price is always increasing. So I don't think it's just happening on XRP, even from some altcoins. And maybe someone here has experienced this too.

There are many coins list in my portfolio they have low of value i believe due to market condition or maybe each development of the project are not quite enough to be known well to the community, hopefully maybe in the future i have gained all my coins.

not all coins that get worse can rise. try to see the performance of the developer. if there is progress done but there has been no increase it means they are still working and there is a possibility of going up. but if the developer has no news of progress, you better sell it and switch to more profitable assets.

I have gained money with a lot of coins. However, the coins I have gained money with include:

BNB: I mean, this gave me an x40 return and that's because I didn't get in at the earlier stages. BNB might have made me  a lot of money in the past, but that is not the end. with binance coin being the native currency of binancechain, I see BNB hitting 100$+ in the future

COUNTINGHOUSE TOKEN: Actually I got 3500 of CHT during their bounty. they are a hedge fund that use a special kind of algorithm to remain profitable. the price was just around 0.5$ when i got the bounty, but now, the price hovers around 3$

ONTOLOGY: got into their airdrop. as at that time, the value of my airdrop was 900$. but ontology saw an x10 growth and sent the airdrop level to almost 10,000$. Ontology is still a great buy now.

ethereum: bought ethereum at 0.8$, sold at 720$. hence, that made me quite a lot.

Usually earn when there are several coins.  But I will say that with ethereum you will always be in the black.  It is really productive coin which is worth investing.

Truly speaking, its RIpple, XRP.
Its been more than a year and still my investment in XRP is below what I have invested. Rather, BTC and ETH has gained more but not XRP.
However, I still see it as an opportunity to invest more(not sure if I am correct for XRP) and to cut my losses or to accumulate more for average.
Let's hope the price will move further and I will see good returns out of it.

in my opinion for altcoin is indeed difficult to predict, so when you want to start trading in altcoin it is better to predict the bitcoin first, because when bitcoin is gone, surely some altcoins go up.

i also got a stupid thing on ripple.
but the most stupidity,came from LOOM because it have some unique concept i think,
so i bought it on beginning of june 2018 but the price continue dropping and i sold it for 60% loss, then i buy it again but same thing happened again,
and after it, i quited for 2 month to refresh my stupid brain.

Its one of the reasons not to rely only on one coin or token, diversify your money in few altcoins ,don't put tour eggs in a single basket because you won't know the one that will bring profit someday

I won at first with Nano but I start to get impatient. To be honest, if after a few months I did not make any profit, I sell at the first opportunity. There are so many good projects to invest in! No time for losers :)  ;D

You just did not trust this coin because of the bad rumors about it.I initially advised to buy it..But many did not pay attention to it. Personally, I earned good money keeping this coin in my briefcase.The next such coin will be XLM.I have not earned anything on this coin yet,but I believe in its success.

It turned out that it wasn't just me who experienced that  ;D . I use XRP for trading weekly, and it's very difficult to make a profit. Finally I was frustrated and very tired, then switched to buying Cadano and EOS. But in trade must be really thorough and have a mature strategy, do not carelessly make purchases without basis and calculation.

In this case, when you are holding a coins that wont give you a  benefit learn to let it go and find another coins which may benefit you good and valuable profit like the dencoins token. One of the reasons not to rely only on one coin or token, diversify your money in few altcoins ,don't put your eggs in a single basket because you won't know the one that will bring profit someday. In addition, learn to be specific of what coins must give you the best out of having a profit.

Mue, Sia, XDN some of coin never give me profits, because when i buy them when hit ATH before BTC dump on early 2018.  ;D

Nice job OP with the money making with other cryptos. As far as Ripple goes, you were just a bit unlucky on that occasion. Ripple is a good investment and has a lot of potential for the future. I think you should hold the coin rather than selling it and going in a negative balance. If the coin has potential, then holding is very good even if the price falls a lot, wait for the market to be stable again. I prefer holding my coins and wait for the next bump.

that means you have gotten a big profit from these XRP coins so you think of it like that, but I don't think like that somehow I up to now also don't like coins to be centered at all like this XRP always deceives me.

The coin I never gained from is a project I participated in the bounty (KITTOKEN)  I was given $600 worth of coins but unfortunately the coin dumped badly when it got to the exchange and the $600 was worth $3. I felt bad about it at first but later realized that it was destined to dump due to the ridiculous bonuses the team gave investors.

Even if it seems weird your strategy may work better in those other coins than in ripple and that is why you get those results, something similar happens to me with bitcoin cash, my strategy has allowed me to get profits from most of the top coins except BCH and that is because the movements of BCH are even more abrupt than in most coins which leads me to believe that my strategy is not adequate for it or that there is a huge amount of manipulation going on.

I really have a bad experience with raiblocks (Nano). I had some insights about that particular coin and bought some of it while it was only listed on its own exchange. Hodled it for 6 months and sold it with a loss of 50% of BTC value. And after a month of selling, It rose up by 1000% making me cry and curse my fate.

Mostly i did not remember from my previous coins because i had panic selling when the market was bloody i will  sell my coins in a loss, right now i bought some coins and i think my strategy was ok because i earn profit unlike previous year always loss.

haha actually it is a disadvantage that you made an excuse and I also often do that with other coins.

I once bought an XZC, at that time the graph of this coin was quite good and potential, then I bought it and the price fell and fell, since that's when I never played with this coin, it really annoys things like that.

I have no longer remembered which coins made me lose money and I did not get 1 cent from the purchase of coins, because I bought new coins at very cheap prices, hoping that the value would rise but in fact the coins did not sell, and finally the coins  lost on the market.  one of the coins as remembered as power is Vlx, Appu, Ajx, Gpaid, Hint and others.

Many people have a belief that Ripple is centralized coin which one its price movement can be manipulated by someone. I have read an article about that, but I have a little confident againts it just because I never buy Ripple in my whole life since I know cryptocurrency. When I was newbie I got used to read everything before I decided to buy a coin especially on this forum. So as I ever interested to bought XRP at that time when it's price increased to $3 but I found a negative information againts it which stated XRP is centralized coin.

The adrenaline puts us traders to create this mistakes, thinking that the market will bounce after seeing big downfall, believing that the developers behind the project will take care of their projects and not to allow to go deeper, but reality show it all we are all trapped and now hoping that after bitcoin rally to bounce back with it's last high everything will be settled and the coins inside our wallets will now be tradable to the value we all wanted to have.

we all have the same experience ... although the different types of coins we sell and buy ... I myself often lose my money through DOGE coins ... I buy then the price goes down ... when I sell the next few days ... then the price of DOGE coins is back up more than the price I bought before ... so until now I no longer buy DOGE coins ...

My story is quite similar to your own because I also bought Ripple at 23 cents in early 2017 but I was too quick to sell at 50 cents. If I was actually patient with my investment, I would have made a lot from my investment in Ripple.

I was hesitant a lot when XRP was only $ 0.15, and one night it increased to $ 0.25 then increased and continued to increase to more than $ 3. If only I hadn't been too hesitant, I would have earned the money I wanted

Well its not the coin fault but you just bought it at the wrong time, xrp is quite promising coin to make profit, the fluctuations is not that high but once it got its momentum it could have a wild swing, don't rush in selling xrp, aim a bit longer then you can make a good profit

In terms of trading none so far but when you talk about rewards or privilege tokens such as came from bounty many and cannot be mentioned all. What good is doing bounty you dont invest funds or money so to say, I encash some of my money through selling these bounty tokens which I think is more profitable than risking on the hype of trading.

i think we are in the same situation about XRP and ETH, it was last year that i decided to buy XRP, but unluckily it went down and ETH went high, i need to cutloss at that time because i cannot bear the losses that i had, so i immediately bought ETH and vice versa, the situation was not favorable to me.

They are many list of coins which didn't gain profit for me till now mostly 2017 ico coins i brought those coins at high price thereafter  coins were dumbed did nt make any profit there on words at present those coins are 98 percent loss

Lol same here I bought XRP when bitcoin was increasing, I thought XRP will follow the uptrend of bitcoin, but no still stable the price, I converted it into bitcoin because it keeps increasing until the price of bitcoin was stable, the XRP was pumping I missed the big profit I just doing a short trade.

a lot of people are losing their money every day on Ripple and therefore I do not recommend anyone to buy this coin.

To this day I have never had coins that were born from exchanges such as BNB and other exchanges, if at the other coins I have at least had them even though not so long in holding them because I like to sell when the coins are good in the market.

So many coins that has not profitable and considered as shitcoins,so i invest only in good projects that has the potential coins like Dencoin tokens.

Nice topic to discuss, it looks more like a top losers coins on the market. Last year I bought the GIN coin, which has a good idea of masternode as a service, but for some reason, the coin price is going down every month. Very sad story...

i have token that since i hold its price keep down till now on.i have some STORM token in my wallet and unfortunately its price not recovered yet.i  hope my portofolio value could increase in near future, and i will switch it into bnb or eth.

It maybe coincidence. I believe luck plays a bit role when it comes to cryptocurrency. I mean there are hundreds of coins, and we are often unknown about which coin will reach the moon. So we have to make a choice. As far as I know Ripple is one of the best coins doing well in the market and it may not disappoint investors in the long run.

Am still yet to make gains from altcoins to be honest altcoins have never been part of my fantasy in the cryptocurrency market but i would use other people's testimony I know few people that capitalized on xrp ripple, neo and ethereum but they at a point still switched and traded there altcoins into bitcoin.
But am still opened to the chances of exploring the altcoins

I think you are not patient enough that is why you sell those xrp at a very wrong, maybe you should start holding it as a long term investment you will make profit with xrp.

I had the same problem with Ethereum. I did not have time to sell coins in the right period of time and my cryptocurrency portfolio lost its value. I decided that I would never buy Ethereum again

It's all about timing your entry point. I'm currently sitting on a loss with Cardano and Nano. I foolishly bought into the hype.
Best thing you can do if you have a loss and still believe in the project is probably buy some more at a lower price to reduce your average entry point - but only if you still believe in the project!

So many coins that has not profitable that are exist right now and dont even make investments at those shitcoins if you dont want to regret, never trust those projects that offers shitcoins and trust only potential coins like Dencoin tokens and if you dont have this altcoin yet you may buy at the ico of the Dencoin tokens.

Indeed, sometimes too many option when we choosing coin and we dont know which one will go to moon. But now, i am prefer choosing altcoin from big exchangers like binance because its have good trading volume and mostly are good project with active developers team.
About Ripple, i think this coin is good to hold for long term because have many partnertship with banks around the world

He error most of us made with some of our investment was to buy these coins immediately they hit exchanges, I think majority of us didn’t know that most altcoins has the tendency of dropping below ICO price when it hit exchange before they start picking up again, that if for these coins that are good.

I bought some coins like that, thinking they will start growing immediately they hit an exchange, but I got it wrong, they all declined so bad which never worried me, because I had researched on the project and knew they would pick, so I reinvested again when they bottomed, so I lost in my first investment, but y second investment made it up.

which of course you have done that because you have researched before and have also benefited from XRP. I think XRP is suitable for the long term but many people claim that the XRP altcoin is centralized which is controlled by the bank. maybe this is one reason why people don't like this altcoin.

I did a bounty for envion. And i had a good amount of stakes.

Most of you know the story but for people who don't know: they delayed for a year for bounty payments whie they were selling their so-called locked tokens on the exchange. Now on court, there is a shit storm. I am happy that i didn't put a single dollar in it but i did work hard for it and never paid for it.

I usually play safe and invest in the higher coins, BTC and ETH and have made money while doing that. I have seen people invest and loose on shitcoins.
It’s all about timing, not about luck or anything. You need to have a grasp of the understanding of the market, so you when to invest. You need to do your calculations and have the basis of purchase.
These kinds of luck, however, most of us have experienced now and then, being in the crypto world.

So this is about profits, from most coins I have received profits and losses in trading/holding. The same as you XRP is a bigger coin in manipulation, it's hard to really got profit from that coin, but what I like about not getting profits from coins is being doge. I use doge only for cheaper transactions at a lower cost.

Actually, it's not never a trainer for your money, but the price of Ripple that you bought is not right and Ripple is indeed a coin that increases not like other coins, because indeed it is not an easy shitcoin pump

Majority of us have some of these coins already that are glued to our portfolio, and we can only but hope that these coins will do well in future. I know how hard it is to really develop a project and some do take time before they are successful, which is why I am still hoping and believing that some of them will turn out to be positive with time

I am giving those projects some little time more to develop, but after those ones, I think before we invest in any new projects, we need to ensure that they are fully developed and have entered exchange already. For this dencoin, I know not much about it yet, but sound quite good to the ear for research.

It is same like me, when i buy XRP with almost half of total cryptocurrency aseet but price fall so deep.
Wait and wait keep still not making good growth so i decide to sell all and take cutloss.
When it happened price just increase and be number 2 in market cap.

It is your own fault, and you cannot entirely blame Ripple for this bad situation for you. This happens to everyone involving in cryptocurrency. This has also happened to me as well. Some three months ago, I had purchased Me token in ICO and right after it hit exchanges, I cleared my holdings thinking it further would go down in price. But it raised vertically, incurring me losses.
