Title: Beware; Do not Fall for Phishing Sites, Do Not Be a Victim of Scams

This is essentially for those who are new to the space, that they do not fall prey to cheap scams. The above ad seem to be very popular on facebook, a mimic, requesting you to fill the form and make some deposits to claim your rewards. That's is the scam part. The legit site is https://www.coinmama.com/ and NOT coinmama.com.ru. I am sure those who made deposit will not get anything  out of it as it obviously mimicking another popular site. Just be careful.
Any contrary opinion is welcome for discussion pls.

Damn! Any airdrop asking one to pay is scam. Also, I usually advise crypto enthusiasts, don't just click any random site you come across,  some will even install spyware to your device. Some sites will ask noobs for private key or keystore, in a bid to hack their wallets. Let's be guided please.

Sometimes, some of these airdrop might not ask you to pay directly, but that you should login your wallet through your private key, which is most times scam.
Some people have fallen victim of something of that nature, before they could learn their lessons.
We should not all wait until that happens. A post like this from the OP, can be of great help to lots of people.

Always be vigilant and don't fall for such giveaways. Check and validate if its from the official account of the exchange.
This happened many times and they will even ask you for a deposit but sadly your money won't be deposited back to you because their main purpose is to scam depositors. Avoid such phishing sites.

That's why I always bookmark the crypto related important sites on the browser and I never use Google for finding the exchange. Google can be uses for advertising the scam phishing sites and so many people are trapped there easily thanks to Google...
I wonder how google allows that, they probably have the best AI to easily sieve out phishing sites and warn users of such potential risks.Somehow they don't.It is sad really

It's a new register domain which age only 1 month, "$500K XLM giveaways" - can't trust at all.

I never believe the advertisement from facebook, scammer not only target on cryptocurrency, normal shopping ads also can't trustable. This ads target is cryptocurrency newbies, they don't know it's real or fake. I'm advice newbies learn basic cryptocurrency knowledge before investing, if not you will loss more than that.

They just have to pay the money to get that advertising spot and nothing else. Google doesn't reviews nor they do in case of applications in Play store. The only way is to find them and send a report if you find something suspicious or malicious.

You can't do anything about it nor they will do anything to change it as long as they are making quick bucks.

I often find sites like that and I also often remind some of my friends to always be careful when looking at airdrops like this, and I also advise friends to participate in airdrop on bitcointalk

This is very illogical in the first place.
You want to get the airdrop which is usually small amount, and must send coin first ? Then the airdrop reward will be minus!
This phishing is worse than the one who ask your private key to receive airdrop.

If you surf the Internet a bit, bookmarks are a good solution. Otherwise, you should be attentive to bookmarks as well. There are quite tricky scripts that replace the links in the bookmarks with something else. Crypto is a difficult environment, we need so much attention to not get caught.

I guess we should be vigilant always on every sites that we visit. Additionally we could install add ons on some browsers that monitors the integrity of sites we visit and could give us an early alarm if possible. Also, if we see news that seems too good to be true then we must investigate further  and conduct DYOR to avoid being scammed.

Then you need to bookmark the websites you visit often and also be watchful

Thanks for the fair warning you have given to the community. Yes, I agree that there are a lot of phishing sites out there, so people should really do their due diligence before clicking or sending any info on the webs as you might be another statistics on the growing list of victimise by those scammers out there.

Just for clarity though, this is the phishing site,

Code:
coinmama.com.ru

And kindly remove the link in your post, or replace it like coinmama[dot]com[dot]ru so that no one will accidentally click it. Thanks.

Someday you wake up and see a website that advertises that you will get $ 500k free XLM? If it can easily come to you, then I am sure it will be unfair for everyday hard workers to earn $ 10 in this market. I believe that free things come with scams and trash.

Phishing sites or links are very scattered everywhere. If the site or project is successful, of course there will be people who will imitate it and ask people to make shipments or payments. I have often found that and now it is indeed very important to look carefully at the website address or something else.

Thanks for the reminders But the sad truth is the scammers was still using a rampant scamming method like duplicate and copycats sites and its not new in the crypto-space. But many was still victimized by this cheap method of scamming activities, thats because some people has not learned how to compare the bogus and the legit one.

Only greedy and naive people will fall for such scams, there is not free launch anywhere, no one will give you such amount of money for free just for doing nothing, even bounty hunting doesn't pay such amount, people should be careful not to part with their hard earned money to phising sites and online scammers

This is not something new. In 2018, hackers earned Ethereum worth $150,000 from MyEthereumWallet. Hackers steal over $150,000 in cryptocurrency with DNS scam (https://www.engadget.com/2018/04/25/hackers-dns-phishing-scam-cryptocurrency-myetherwallet/)

I read that and that is one of the reasons why I left using Myetherwallet, there is no guaranty that they will not have a repeat of what happened back then, I'm now using hardware wallet and of Mycrypto desktop wallet it's more safer than an online based wallet.

Thanks for sharing this mate, I am sure it would have helped lots of people who would have fallen victim to avoid it. I think by now, so many people having understood everything going on in the crypto space should be wise enough now not to fall victim, no matter how new someone is to cryptocurrency, there is no way he or she would not have heard of the high rate of scam going on in the crypto space, and be extremely careful with his dealings.

Thorough research must be done very well before using any site that we come across, and when it comes to these exchanges site or some projects sites, I usually do prefer to go through the sites registered on coinmarketcap if they have any record of such projects on their database.

The experienced that i had, serves me the right not to fall any types of scam like this, many of this postings are now popular in crypto groups, so lately what i did is that, i ask some members of the group to check whether the said program is legit or a scam.

The sad thing is they are using google ads nowadays and google is not doing anything important about it until it gets reported. Like they do not care themselves and let it be until it gets reported and they check the report, in reality it should be not getting advertised at first and google should not allow them to exist at all but they let the work done by the people and only check it if it is reported.

If it is not reported (unlikely) google wouldn't do anything about it. Which means you can put a phishing website to google advertisement anytime you want and google will allow you to exist until you get reported and you will make as much money as possible until you get banned. That means for a while all phishing websites are allowed and they are capable of getting money.

But I tend to avoid them simply as I do not have much time. Now I have become aware of such fishy activities of such projects. We must stand together against such projects.

A very simple trick of scammers, when they offer some profitable action on their sites or something similar, you should always remember that free cheese, only in a mouse trap and better such sites pass by. Especially if it's related to the cryptocurrency.

Well, a strong antivirus will prevent them from installing unimportant files to your computer if you know how to tweak your own computer. For sure newbies will always gonna fall to that part when the site starts asking their private keys. Anyway, the best way to prevent it is to not click on an unknown site or any site that seems to be dodgy, you will know it eventually if you are a computer geek.

Demanding payments from participants is a No No and always a sign of scam, I believe this post will teach a lot lessons. We shouldn't be driven their Juicy offers that we give them our hard earned funds. Furthermore, the project's TG or discord group has always been the best place to get the right link so as to avoid Phishing.

Phishing is becoming the other of the day and it is getting rampant, just a little change in the website and someone might get phished. From experience, the best way to avoid this is by bookmarking the website, while in cases where we lost track of them, visiting either CMC is always the best shot and for projects that are yet to be listed on CMC, then the individual support groups should come handy.
About collecting payments before sending of reward; I think it's newbies that will fall for this, some even request private keys at least a friend was victim.
We should all be careful of the links we visit, as well as the information we release this is the internet many things are bound to happen.

Phishing sites are sent to emails and the likes.

This is funny, a project asking participants to pay a certain fee should be a sign to those participants that the project is a scam ,but owing to the fact they might mimic the real project those participants might be confused thus sending the payment.
Let it be clear especially to those who don't know, no project will ask for fee before rewarding its participants and anyone doing such should be scam example Is the one posted here. To clear doubt, it is wise to visit the appropriate group of that project to be sure.
Secondly, Phishing is real and should be taken into consideration; especially exchanges, we should bookmark our favourite exchanges in order to be safe.

This is bad and shouldn't be welcomed at all, no participants or users of any platform is meant to pay for whatsoever unless the person is participating in public offering. Any project asking for funds via form is always scam and should be stayed away from, of course they will always mimic the genuine projects to carry out their act thus the reason it's wise to ask questions when such arises.
Phishing on the other hand is getting worst, let's endeavour to be careful and alert always.
Also, thanks for bringing this up so that people will learn and be guided.

Thanks so much for this information. So far, I found so many phishing and scams in crypto world. Many are deceived both the funds and identity. That is why we must be careful and understand more about phishing. I'm sure that being active in this forum can also help us because they commonly provide real information.

Of a truth, phishing shouldn't be taken for granted as it is a very serious thing. Most platforms, exchanges have been victims of phishing thereby losing huge amount of money. Some of the ways to avoid phishing is by bookmarking the website, getting the right platform links from the telegram group or by searching for the platform on CoinMarketCap.
Secondly we shouldn't give any body any funds whatsoever through a form or otherwise, even on telegram the admin will always point it out that they won't pm or ask for fund, so let's always have that in mind.

That's why I always bookmark the crypto related important sites on the browser and I never use Google for finding the exchange. Google can be uses for advertising the scam phishing sites and so many people are trapped there easily thanks to Google...

This is a good way to avoid phising site, nowadays the hackers are getting more and more creative to set a trap for users, its better to check carefully before enter and clicking any link, used different password and email for register and don't give your kyc to unknown site, if you are not sure about the site, find the information thoroughly, don't be reckless and lazy, one wrong click could end up all of your account being hacked

This is why back then, Facebook banned cryptocurrency advertisements.I remember seeing a lot of ponzi/hyip or phishing scams circulating in Facebook.

Some tips to prevent phishing attacks:
1-Sometimes anti virus or anti-phishing toolbars alerts you if the website is suspicious so be sure that have one of those as precaution
2-Don't click on ads/popups/email links to access a website even if you know it, google it instead.

Scammers will always deceive other people to get people fall to their traps. Don't login everywhere and be sure what website you are logging in. Sometimes we are too careless of not checking the URL and that's one of the weakest of most people that falls to these phishing sites.

That's true almost fall for that there are so many phishing sites that cloaking their website and advertise using AdWords targetting keywords, so if you do not know how to look or differentiate a url you will become a victim, so bookmarking and using metacert are two of the best practice.

This is why I don't join in any airdrop especially from those sites who are not reputable.

The only XLM airdrop that is legit is from blockchain.info and nothing more for me. You can create a post regarding this kind of scams and phishing sites anytime but there will be still some newbies who will fall into this trap. Sad but true because they are newbies and they don't have any knowledge about it.

Google is really not to be blamed for any of those shit sites, there are thousands of projects that goes through Google ad on a daily basis, and these projects do pass the little verification that Google can do, they are very good at manipulating everything, and there is no way Google cam completely know which site is there to scam or not, like this one op mentioned, to Google, it is just a content that is genuine, and until proving wrong before any action can be taken against them.

People are the ones that needs to be extremely careful with what they look or search for over the internet, the site does not have any bewitching spirit to coerce anyone into to taking action, we do that out of our willingness, so we should be the one to be extra careful in picking sites.

This is one of the most scariest thing that may possibly happen to anyone.

According to the Webroot Threat Report, nearly 1.5 million new phishing sites are created each month and according to Intel, 97% of people around the world are unable to identify a sophisticated phishing email.

Awareness and readiness are important to counter this kind of risk.

1. Keep Informed About Phishing Techniques

2. Think Before You Click!

3. Install an Anti-Phishing Toolbar

4. Verify a Site’s Security

5. Check Your Online Accounts Regularly

6. Keep Your Browser Up to Date

7. Use Firewalls

8. Be Wary of Pop-Ups

9. Never Give Out Personal Information

10. Use Antivirus Software

The legit site is https://www.coinmama.com/ and NOT coinmama.com.ru. I am sure those who made deposit will not get anything  out of it as it obviously mimicking another popular site. Just be careful.
Any contrary opinion is welcome for discussion pls.

Well, anyone who is wise should already know that this is a huge scam. First of all they claim. To be giving away free cryptos and then they tell those who register to deposit money before they are given their free cryptos… so how does that even make any sense. You tell someone to register so they can get a free crypto, then you expect them to then deposit and after depositing, they will be given free crypt is and they can then withdraw their money and the free money as well… that just doesn't make any sense. And btw… free air drops should be asking people to first of all deposit money before they are given anything. That's why I don't even show interests to things like this, not to talk of giving any information about myself to them.

Always watch out of any kinds of phishing. Sometimes, phishing and scam really bring very nice ideas, from popular sites, with very worthy rewards. However, we must be more careful. Always check and recheck all information related to the promotion, programs, and also rewarding activities in order to avoid phishing and scams.
This information is very important and thanks to letting us know about it early  ;)

I also noticed that most of scams are now in the form of giveaways. When I look at Binance twitter account, it's full of those scammers comments that testify using their fake accounts claiming they have received a lot of bitcoin or whatever coin is popular and they even pop up in CZ's twitter account. Those scammers know ICO or airdrop is not going to give them free money anymore so this is the best that they can do and that is the promo and giveaway scams.

Yes, they use google ads and google doesn't care if its a phishing site. Not just with those kind of sites but also there are scam sites like HYIP and cloud mining that have been using google ads to boost their search results.
Many are disappointed on how google is tackling this issue, looks like they are not serious with the community's concern.

The issue of scam airdrop are getting popular this days. The aspect of making payment for tokens is rather very daft, as most people participating in airdrops are in need of funds. My major fear as regards airdrop is the possibility of installing spywares which are very harmful and gives the hacker access to one's private information.

When the airdrop holder telling you to download their wallet just don't do it I mean it's not worth it and you are probably doing something dangerous for a mere few cents. airdrop is good only if it requires you something simple and not submitting your data to stranger out there. even I'd say that don't join an airdrop if you are really concerned about your own data and privacy.

Phishing site is the basic thing to avoid in cryptocurrency because there are many scammers who want your coins.
As long we are very careful to check every time we visit any website, we will not be phished, and always double and triple check the link or url.
It is good for you and others.  We need to be more aware of small things that can have a big impact.  Phishing sites are one of them.  With vigilance, we will be safe and avoid scammers.
Scammers have many ways to get what they want.  I'm used to not joining airdrop and not visiting sites that are usually sent via spam email.

I doubt that unless the hacker somehow managed to obtain the password of your friend's bitcointalk account, because otherwise there is no way to exclude the original owner of the account without his password.

Either way, did your friend open a thread in the meta section of this forum to ask admin(s) for account recovery? That would be the logical step to follow if it wasn't a throwaway account.

Most scams targets those who aren't aware of the ways of the internet. They'll blindly follow the hope of huge rewards, not thinking while doing actions such as pay-to-get rewards schemes. Almost all of the time, when one site does that, it's outright scam and double think always if you're entering sensitive data on the internet because once it's submitted, there's no turning back.

If anyone tells the deposite it is likely 100% scam. And before filling out the form an airdrop check all existing on its platform such as a whitepaper, roadmap, team, etc.

I don't usually visit some sites that aren't familiar to me because of what I have experience before, I just don't want to repeat the same mistakes that makes me regret every decision I've made. If you are curious about that specific site then try to ask someone if they have any idea or just do your own research, maybe its a bit laborious but it helps you to get rid of scammers.

This type of fraud is common, but there are still those who are caught in the trap. Usually you have to fill in the form with your personal data or information in the form of your email and social media accounts. This will be used by them to spread phishing, or give a message if you become a winner in the giveaway they launched.
must be careful with fraud models like this.

Damn! Any airdrop asking one to pay is scam. Also, I usually advise crypto enthusiasts, don't just click any random site you come across,  some will even install spyware to your device. Some sites will ask noobs for private key or keystore, in a bid to hack their wallets. Let's be guided please.
Just a little bit curious how could you even call it an airdrop if you need to pay in order to receive it?
People are surely being blinded by their greed if they would fall on to this kind of tricks.
And also those airdrops that would ask for private key or keystore is clearly a scam so how could anyone fall for it?
Those new in crypto should be guided properly and know the difference between scam and legit airdrops if they want to join airdrops.

Don't forget to bookmark it. You can also check its domain registration date, if that exchange or platform site was already like running for years already.
Try this site to look for it: https://lookup.icann.org/lookup
Be cautious out there, hodlers.
I was almost a victim of some kind of scheme where in they redirect you to a fake MEW site, and wanting you to log your wallet into their site along with your private keys.

Yes often we get emails and often we find sites on them. Sometimes we feel curious and finally open the site, I think this is something that often happens to all of us. When we feel that we need to open it, we will open the site and before we realize it is a phishing site. For now we better be careful with the sites that are submitted, don't be too curious about these sites.

Since I learnt through the hard way during the early days of myetherwallet that phishing was rampant, I now know better that the best way to access project websites with assurance is via coinmarketcap.com

This has been a very old method through which people's online wallets and exchange wallet were asked. I never thought anyone in cryptocurrency world will still fall for it. I think is now very pertinent that one knows the websites he or she want to visit offhand before inputting or creating a password on them.

For wallet websites, bookmarking the main page of the wallet site and using the offline version of the online wallets can save the user's time.
The mobile apps also have the inside browser which is targeted by the scammers, the real authentic email copies are used for tracking the users.
Even 5 people from 100 people fall to this trap, it is enough for scammers to continue their dishonest behavior.

Well, that will be too obvious at first glance because they will already ask you for deposit to claim your reward from them. With that advertising strategy, it was already suspicious because why would you have to exert such effort depositing into their site to claim reward for an instant? We should be mindful of taking care of the information we share online due to the fact that there are lots of scam websites that share the same strategy. It is very relevant to educate everyone about taking care of their information specially their online wallets not to share to a suspicious site and to a stranger one. I know we might be all desperate to earn big but nothing can be earned that easy. It is very important that we spread awareness here in the forum so that newbies in this space will be aware not to get victimized by this strategies so that they will continue and enjoy their journey within the crypto space.

I think when there are such knowledge of every bitcoiners they could always safe from scammers even they are greedy. But it was impossible because newbies want to earn as fast as they can even they lack of knowledge.

I no longer wonder why so many have fallen victim to fraud like this, even fraud like this has happened many times, but the number of victims is increasing. Big prizes are always hunted without first researching a project that is being run. When they asked for money from the start, the smell of a planned fraud had been detected. So be careful.

I do truthfully agree. We must not fall into such phishing sites specially for those newbies within the crypto space that are being taken advantage by some veterans or those that are already old into using cryptocurrency. We must always be aware and be observant so that we may not fall into such schemes because even those that are already staying long enough with crypto are also getting victimized. Always remember that there is no such short way on earning not just in cryptocurrency but as well as in real life. Also, keep in mind that as sites ask you for payment to be able to claim such promising reward, you can already consider it as a scam because if it is a real reward, then you must not pay for it. Such obvious schemes must be avoided for you not to be scammed by those sites and kinds of people.

First it is a giveaway or airdrop then they started asking for deposit to claim reward, then the question is, why the giveaway if am to pay to get it. Like you said, there is need to be very careful of the websites we visit and also be mindful of the type of information we pass onto those websites, some might even ask for private keys etc. Also, this issue of phishing is becoming rampant and it makes sense to bookmark all the websites we use everyday from exchanges to other important ones, this will surely reduce phishing scam to an extent.

Title: Re: Beware; Do not Fall for Phishing Sites, Do Not Be a Victim of Scams

I think the first approach should be; let everyone be careful of giveaways flying around, most times those behind the giveaways use attractive rewards to lure victims thus the reason one should be careful of them. Also, on coming across any giveaway, let the first step be to visit the social media accounts of the project in question to be sure it is from them. Furthermore, just like someone earlier suggested, there is urgent importance to bookmark the websites very important to our day to day activities such as exchanges and so on.

The bitter part of all this is that even after this post many will still fall for this kind of scam. The issue we have here is greed. Personally, any giveaway or airdrop or sort asking for a deposit before I can get is off for me.

If only we can be vigilant, make researches and put away greed, these scammers will surely go out of business and hungry.

Phishing is one of the ways of scamming people which will always be with us not only in the cryptocurrency space but in other systems as well, this is because most times people might find it hard differentiating between a genuine website and a scam one. Also, phishing is not only done during giveaway events but an all-round stuff as I could remember a friend who visited a phishing website and was scammed thereafter. However, one won't be too quick to forget that giveaways even some airdrops are always targets used for this phishing scam. My suggestion is, take note of each website mostly used, if possible bookmark as it is the safest way. Also, don't pay anyone for any giveaway or airdrop and don't ever reveal private keys etc.

People always fall for these good to be true scams, we have seen that with doubling scams and then the recent twitter hacks where they were able to collect millions promising to double the coins in a short period, the scammers understand that it is quite easy to gain a gullible users trust and then play with their greed and that is what is happening with all these scams and phishing is another part of these get quick rich scams.

How not to fall for phishing scams:

- Always carefully check all the links. Do not click on links from the messages from Internet services — instead, manually enter the address of the desired service in the address bar of your browser.

- Never reveal your private key.

- Use antivirus which has special protection against phishing.

Google is the first line of defense and I feel like they are not doing it proper enough which is the biggest problem. There is still a lot of ads on google for many different websites that has a phishing link instead of the real one, and I agree that when you report that to google they do take it down but between that ad being up until you report and gets taken down, whoever that scammer could have convinced was convinced and this is why I think it shouldn't be accepted to begin with.

I know google makes deals in billions of dollars every year so it is hard to follow every single website and link that they get ads from, but that doesn't change the fact that it shouldn't be checked before accepted, phishing is something serious and millions are lost to it every year, google should be held more responsible for it.

Scammers are too clever these days and even use the Google ads program to advertise potaainga sites above real sites.
Always double check and if possible.bokkmark the sites once
You verify that they are the real ones.

Nowadays scammers are rampant and words or promises are very flowery to use to deceive. So we should not just believe right away. So it is better that if there is a project that is being offered to you, you must first study it carefully to find out what it contains to make sure that we are not fooled. Do not trust immediately until it has been reviewed.

The difference between a domain is very clear, from a real website and a pishing website. for most beginners do not seem to care and it is a big advantage that they perceive. Moreover, the gifts they offer are also tempting. My advice is for anyone to be more thorough and not send petrol just to claim airdrop tokens.

I do not know a single person, who was never deceived or scammed. However, successful guys used these fails as the best lesson in their life. Now, they are very cautious and try not to make similar or even the same mistakes. Only fools cannot be taught ever.
Sometimes we have to pay dearly for a valuable lesson. That failure will make us understand better that this ecosystem is quite dangerous if we are not careful about security. Don't be sad, it's a process. Evaluate the failure so that it does not happen again in the future.

~
Scammers are too clever these days and even use the Google ads program to advertise potaainga sites above real sites.
Always double check and if possible.bokkmark the sites once
You verify that they are the real ones.
Agree. scammers, use various manipulations that we don't even think they will. But that's what happened, I was surprised that they even made an official ad on google to convince potential victims. We really need to do some in-depth research, if in doubt it's better to leave immediately. Don't invest in something you don't know well, let alone just follow other people's advice. only invest what you can afford to lose

Greedy people will surely get caught in this trap, for you to get the reward you need to insert your private key to connect your wallet, this is giving away your money to scammers the easiest way, if you love Airdrops that much then go through airdrop sources like airdropbob.com, not all scam Airdrops will ask you to deposit money, some will tell you to claim your free tokens by inserting your recovery seed.
Agreed as long you are able to keep your greed in check, it is nearly impossible to fall for scam.
As for those asking to send eth or whatever the coin might be, for you to receive your free token are majorly scam, but come to think of it, no serious project will go that route to do that.

Actually, if we do it carefully when we visit websites and don't click directly, should have avoided becoming a victim of phishing.
Unfortunately most people do not have this awareness, then be careful also to find the address of websites through the google
search engine which usually often appears phishing sites. One more thing, don't be easily attracted by giveaway whose amount is
unrealistic and requires a deposit first to get rewards, therefore it is likely the method used by scammers.

There are many modes used by scammers and we should always be vigilant and pay attention to our browser tab and see the web certification to convince us that the web we visit is not a fake one. In addition, it is not arbitrary to click on the link sent to us because it could be malware

That's why it is important for us to be aware of the links we are going to click or register. If the site is asking for your private key other way to open your wallet, don't you ever try to put it on. It is obviously a scam. Just remember that there is no airdrops and bounties asking for any funds to get rewards.
AirDrop is a giveaway that is used by crypto developers as a means of promoting their project or token, and AirDrop participants are usually required to carry out certain tasks as a condition to get a number of Cryptocurrency Tokens, examples of tasks are following social media and sharing Twitter, Facebook posts or participants are required to join their official telegram, but if there is an airdrop developer who provides a number of funds, both usdt, eth and bitcoin, we can be sure if the airdrop is a scam and we should also be careful in clicking the link they provide because it could be that link Phishing links that are able to read and take over assets that we have in personal wallets.

Unfortunately, those who will always be victims are new traders who still don't have much experience, so they end up getting a scam and stuck on a phishing website.

How not to fall for phishing scams:

- Always carefully check all the links. Do not click on links from the messages from Internet services — instead, manually enter the address of the desired service in the address bar of your browser.

- Never reveal your private key.

- Use antivirus which has special protection against phishing.

For the lolz! This hijacker stole my account.

As we enter this new platform, we are already held responsible of the money we take in our accounts or wallets. We should always stay updated on what are the current schemes of the scammers and be extra careful on the sites that we are visiting or making transactions of. Many people gets unfortunate as they become careless and too goal centered that they do not pay attention with the risks around them at all. Extra security in our wallets are not being exaggerated, instead we are just proving how much we value the money we get from investing and trading in here.

So the one you claim to be legit is really legit? I remember having read many negative reviews about coinmama.
Maybe the one with the .ru domain is a total scam, however I doubt the original one is what we can call legit.
Always do research when you are about to send your money to somewhere you don't know anything about.

Actually, any airdrop asking users to pay or send money for gas to send your reward is a complete scam, some scammers have used this method to acquire alot of money for themselves, I personally had an experience last year where I joined one airdrop on telegram, it seems all legit with a nice looking website, they were able to gather over 100k subscribers to their telegram channel, at the end, they asked participants to send 0.005 eth to cover the gas cost of sending their tokens, tens of thousands fell for this, I personally monitored the scammers wallet and the idiots were able to raise over 36 Ethereum in a period of just 3 days, really baffles me how gallible some people can be.

Experience is the main asset so that it doesn't happen again. The airdrop is now like flowing water. without stopping airdrops arriving using an enchanting concept. Why pay for the gas fee to get an airdrop token, while other, more legit airdrops are still waiting ..right ? ;D

Most adds on Facebook really don't hold that much credibility in ky eyes anymore. I even experienced phishing back then because of such useless ads that cost me more than $2k it's just so sad and sickening at the same time thinking about how people can bear to do this to other who work hard for what they have. Don't they stop and think that what if they stole from a person that needs the moneyin paying for chemo therapy, Dialysis or other important things? They are basically killing people. Murderers and thieves. Shame on these people.
