First it is a giveaway or airdrop then they started asking for deposit to claim reward, then the question is, why the giveaway if am to pay to get it. Like you said, there is need to be very careful of the websites we visit and also be mindful of the type of information we pass onto those websites, some might even ask for private keys etc. Also, this issue of phishing is becoming rampant and it makes sense to bookmark all the websites we use everyday from exchanges to other important ones, this will surely reduce phishing scam to an extent.

I think the first approach should be; let everyone be careful of giveaways flying around, most times those behind the giveaways use attractive rewards to lure victims thus the reason one should be careful of them. Also, on coming across any giveaway, let the first step be to visit the social media accounts of the project in question to be sure it is from them. Furthermore, just like someone earlier suggested, there is urgent importance to bookmark the websites very important to our day to day activities such as exchanges and so on.

The bitter part of all this is that even after this post many will still fall for this kind of scam. The issue we have here is greed. Personally, any giveaway or airdrop or sort asking for a deposit before I can get is off for me.

If only we can be vigilant, make researches and put away greed, these scammers will surely go out of business and hungry.

I think I have seen that link, newbies really need to take note, any airdrop that would ask for deposit before withdrawal is definitely a scam project, also everyone needs to be careful on the links he or she clicks on,most are phishing links that could get your wallet or even your exchange hacked.

Something is always common to all these scams , they usually sound too good to be true. Anyone that is conversant with crypto will understand this more. I will advice anyone not to click any link until after proper investigation.

Phishing is one of the ways of scamming people which will always be with us not only in the cryptocurrency space but in other systems as well, this is because most times people might find it hard differentiating between a genuine website and a scam one. Also, phishing is not only done during giveaway events but an all-round stuff as I could remember a friend who visited a phishing website and was scammed thereafter. However, one won't be too quick to forget that giveaways even some airdrops are always targets used for this phishing scam. My suggestion is, take note of each website mostly used, if possible bookmark as it is the safest way. Also, don't pay anyone for any giveaway or airdrop and don't ever reveal private keys etc.

I think everyone must also try to remember never try to double-check but there must be an exception for legit link from the trusted party. and remember these scammers were always using the various method to scam the crypto users, especially in the telegram channel.
I got a bunch of pm in my email and sometimes there was a scam addon too that must be avoided by everyone.

You should always be critical of everything, especially in those moments when you are offered something for free without requiring anything in return. Surely there is some kind of catch.
No matter how reputable the service, and how much it has an impeccable reputation, you should always double-check any information related to the free distribution of something, even if you are 100% sure of this service.

I was added to many telegram groups in the name of top exchanges where the people were claiming that the company is running promotion and if you send btc or eth to company address you will get double or triple amount within few hours and their were regular messages about the process and people posting yes they doubled or tripled, i think all they use is robots but yes they do present like legit and original company and it is very luring to say the least even the first time i saw it i was almost going to send them btc but i stopped myself because it was too good to be true and i realized it cannot be real after that i have been added many times but i just ignire and report such groups. We have to be very careful online to save ourself from scams.

We really need to be more careful, don't click on any website at random, maybe the crooks have hacked the spyware on that site. Always stay alert and we should always check and ensure that the website we are visiting is secure and of course it is genuine.

It's the phrase "too good to be true" to be remembered. When somebody offers you something that sounds great but asks for nothing in return, don't take it! There's a great number of scammers in this market and you'll never know who is who until you got scammed. Therefore, be careful traders!

My brother was once a victim of phishing site. Scammers are really smart for the know exactly who their victims and that's the new born crypto lovers. That's why it is a must to look the URL address of the site you want to visit to make sure you'll not get screwed.

I am getting lots of mail Recent one is stellar airdrop . easiest way to find scam is check the email address from you received mail . Mostly it would be yahoo , outlook , gmail . SO that we can find . Another way of scamming is telegram support if we raise any concern in exchang telegtam soon we will get the private message from same name as admin . It is also we have to be careful about . It is better to go with necessity if your really need to go for website then only go dont follow mail or messages

It's true! New comers tend to get exited to earn money right away that they don't even know if it's even a scam. So just a reminder to newbies out there, Talk to a person who is longer than you or have more experienced than you when it comes to crypto for your first investment.

I have been a victim of this before . then I was new in crypto , I invested in some projects and was also introduced to airdrops . At some points fake airdrops started coming out and I mistakenly clicked a phishing link and the private key to my wallet was stolen  . Before I could know what was happening the hacker had finished removing my assets both the Airdrop and some Eth based token I bought.
it was an ugly experience.

People always fall for these good to be true scams, we have seen that with doubling scams and then the recent twitter hacks where they were able to collect millions promising to double the coins in a short period, the scammers understand that it is quite easy to gain a gullible users trust and then play with their greed and that is what is happening with all these scams and phishing is another part of these get quick rich scams.

How not to fall for phishing scams:

- Always carefully check all the links. Do not click on links from the messages from Internet services — instead, manually enter the address of the desired service in the address bar of your browser.

- Never reveal your private key.

- Use antivirus which has special protection against phishing.

Scammers are unavoidable but we can prevent them from fooling us. We just really need to be more careful, and do not immediately believe on any website that says it is good and promising we must first study carefully before taking risks, because if you immediately believe it. Always stay alert and be smart.

Greedy people will surely get caught in this trap, for you to get the reward you need to insert your private key to connect your wallet, this is giving away your money to scammers the easiest way, if you love Airdrops that much then go through airdrop sources like airdropbob.com, not all scam Airdrops will ask you to deposit money, some will tell you to claim your free tokens by inserting your recovery seed.
