In order to get my money back, I disclosed a lot of my privacy, including my insurance documents, which was very unfair to people who had the same experience as me

Don't know why they handled this situation is so slow, perhaps they need to seize some money to make money used to operate other business projects, it is ultimately win a lot of money for them

This isn't the first time Freewallet (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1177176) does this. See Trust summary for Freewallet (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=1177176).

Good luck!

Sorry about your situation bud but you should have been careful trusting those scumbags. You can check their previous feedback's and see you're not the first one they tried to scam.

On the other end, I hate the flag system in such cases. FreeWallet account has inactive flags even though a number of members support it and just because some from the DT doesn't, the flags are not shown.

Sound like an online wallet but business is currency exchange. What I read from others that you don't own the private key so the brand name (freewallet) is misleading. Fortunately I have never used them but the story heard about them were not too pleasant. I have no idea how you are going to recover your funds but I think you need to create enough buzz so that they feel forced to look into your case and pay you back.

Start with creating a type 3 flag and update the OP using the correct format. Format is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0

You will need to invest decent amount of time in this forum to follow up your case and also find any other forum that deals with currency exchange issues.

Good luck mate.

Another victim of a suddenly locked account by freewallet then forcing them to pass KYC verification before they can get their funds.. This must be the fourth or fifth accusation that I have read about this "wallet".

Just wait for them here OP, they will soon respond.

Yes, a centralized exchange disguised as a wallet.

Yes, they're actually fake wallets, they blocked many people’s money! We were fooled by the name, and I think if they don't deal with everyone soon, they should change the name!
“Scamwallet”is the best for them!

I don't think I'll be the last one to be cheated, but I hope everyone doesn't try to use the scam without finishing it.

Hello.
Please, provide us the following information in English:
1) A clear closeup photo of your identification document (an international ID or a driver’s license in English) being held in your hand. Scanned images are not accepted;

2) Information about the origin of your funds. It can be screenshots showing the conversion of fiat money into the cryptocurrency, a list of exchange transactions or payments from mining pools (not from Freewallet).

Best regards,
Molly,
Technical Engineer, Freewallet

Is it normal procedure to ask source of funds? Because I can't find that freewallet asked this person (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5164369.0) to provide them source of funds.

Do you selectively ask for source of funds or do you ask every costumer to provide you source of funds?

Oh wow, they are acting like banks now. Why would a "wallet" be asking for source of funds? Seriously, freewallet needs to change their name and stop misleading people that it's actually a wallet.

Centralized service. Not your keys not your coins.

If you are dumb enough to not have the control of your own private keys, they have the right to do anything.

Monero sub even put a warning on their sidebar to warn people against freewallet. See it yourself:

Freewallet, selective or not, a scam service which you should avoid at all costs.

They are not like a bank, the bank freezes people's money if they can provide proof, they may solve the problem in 24 hours, the bank values their reputation and customers more~

Now it should be some of the people, maybe all of the people in the future, and it's not fair to everybody, because it may be more difficult to provide proof in different countries, and everybody's situation is different

If they ask users to follow a standard to provide, it is very unfair to people in different countries.

Best of luck OP. Hopefully this would be clear enough of a reason to not use custodial wallets in the future. FreeWallet is probably the last custodial wallet I would trust. No matter how bad Coinbase is as a wallet, I'd much prefer storing funds there than using FreeWallet.

Too many complains with slow support is a trash service. You should not use this service in the very first place.

FreeWallet is probably the last custodial wallet I would trust.
You mean would not trust.

Hope your problem got resolved so soon. Once you get your refund, please do not use this exchange anymore.

Maybe I really should have done survey before this.

It's about time they made very clear, very obviously what people thinking of using it are getting themselves into.

At the very least the exchange function should be kept completely separate from the wallet function and KYC is forced on you before you can use it.

There's absolutely no mention of the risk of being locked on their site and no FAQ that vaguely mentions KYC either.

Hi, our Terms of Use mention the regulations for the verification procedure and it is definitely not forced. We have a security algorithm programmed by the very best industry specialists. It doesn't depend on the amount, country or type of operations; it is not randomly selective, but a highly complex algorithm. It has prevented illicit activities and hackers from getting access to target accounts.

If a company appreciates its employees it won’t show their names in public. This supposed to be done only with the employee’s permission.
