After Bitcoin, LiteCoin & ETHEREUM made my shortlist for an investment option.

ETHEREUM - My Main concern is Supply is a little bit high & Price is already over $150 which is -1 point against LiteCoin.

LiteCoin - supply is less than 64M & price well under $70.

Which one you would choose for long term invest & Why?

Hmm, I still prefer ETHREUM as one of my best investment options, because there are upcoming Hardfork will come in a few days (there will be coming some pump on the market). Also, there is upcoming major update from ETH called ETH 2.0. I'm pretty sure it can boost ETH Price...

I would choose Ethereum. This is a more unique blockchain than Litecoin. Ethereum continues its development, I have high hopes for next year and the transition to Ethereum 2.0.

I am never invest in Litecoin. I am more prefer to invest in ETH because for me ETH is is my first investment since first i knew crypto world and i am never interestd to invesy in Litecoin.

I chose ETH because now ETH has more advantages such as having a smart contract for example, and now many new people are joining the crypto world, and ETH will definitely be more chosen

Of course there are still some differences like programming languages and others, I prefer to invest in ethereum. Although Ethereum's market capitalization is currently more than five times the size of Litecoin, the price is less than five times that of ETH. This is because there are more Ether coins available than Litecoin. Ethereum Blockchain-based technologies, ERC20, can be used as potential investment assets. These bases have been used by various multinational companies in the world.

If it were me, I would choose to invest in ETH in the long term. Because I was very disappointed with Litecoin, the halving event happened but its value was halved after halving.
This proves that businesses are not concerned about prices and miners, this is very dangerous.
Therefore, I will choose ETH to accompany for many years.

If i have enough money i will invest in both of them. LTC and ETH struggling in so long so for long term investment i think still profitable. If we look at their ATH its not possible they will reach new ATH again. LTC and ETH rank also good. For 10 top coinmarketcap i think all of them will profitable in long term.

at this time, most people might choose Ethereum as an investment compared to LTC. Ethereum 2.0 does indeed encourage many people to hold Ethereum, even I also hold some assets. but, looking at the current chart, Ethereum and Litecoin have the potential that is not much different, but I still choose Ethereum.

I have advice, that when the Ethereum price is below $ 170 in the near future, maybe it is an opportunity to buy for those who don't have Ethereum. it's just that, I might change it into bitcoin if that happens.

I think Litecoin will be able to become a convenient means for making payments for everyone, regardless of the geographical location of users. Moreover, if they manage to issue a plastic card with an LTC balance and the ability to pay at any place where VISA/Mastercard credit cards are accepted. Therefore, I think LTC is better for investing.

Between the two choices you keep mentioning, i would rather choose ethereum since it is widely used and traded, and easy for me to liquidate rather than the litecoin, first if we talk about investments for short term trading and or holding, my suggestion is that dont focus to only one investment vehicle, why not leverage your investments by investing the two coins itself? choose the two, rather than choosing only one.

These two coins are equally interesting and both have the prospect of growth and development, so many of us have the question "which coin to choose?". I think Litecoin has prospects to become the main means of payment, but the development of the project will depend on the development team. I keep a certain amount of these coins and buy them whenever possible.

Ethereum is also a good project and the ETH coin is no less popular than LTC. Moreover, next year the Ethereum team is preparing an update and change to PoS. I do not currently invest in Litecoin, I still use ETH as a future investment tool, but I want to analyze from two of your statements:

Lite Coin, the supply is only 64 million, so that will greatly help the price of LTC in the future, why? because in theory, in my opinion, the less supply, the price will continue to increase, along with increasing demand in the market. then here I see an opportunity to invest in LTC, also very promising, because the potential can be like BTC if one day LTC has a small supply left.

both of these coins are actually good for the long term. ltc has just been halving and this is good for their future. slowly but surely the volume of coins in circulation will decline and if the demand for ltc still remains the same, wouldn't this be a reason for price increases.

while ethereum will hold a major update (ethereum 2.0), rumors are that when the update is launched, ethereum will adopt the POS consensus. for investors who want to participate in POS they must hold ethereum. and there will definitely be a lot of requests in the market at the launch. it means that the price of ethereum will pump up.

if for long-term investment, I trust ethereum more. maybe coins other than bitcoin that can survive only ethereum. Litecoin is a copy of bitcoin and there has been no innovative breakthrough from this project, there is no real use. it's hard to believe in coins like this. so if I have to choose from these two coins, I'm more interested in ethereum.

moreover ethereum will start a major update early next year. this could add to the reason for the rise in ethereum prices.

Both coins are good for investment but if you want the best you better choose Ethereum since the price of it is much higher and their market cap is bigger than the LiteCoin. You can either diversify if you would like to hold more coins than choosing a single one. Why not invest in Bitcoin too it's the best of all cryptocurrency and you will surely make a good profit from it.

Manytimes I said that Litecoin doesn´t worth the investment, but I was wrong. Since they plan to add privacy feature they could easily become the most used anonymous coin!

Don't you have an option to keep both of them? if you have that option then I'd like to say that keeping both of them can be beneficial for you because IMHO these coins are good for long term investment.

There's a lot to wait for ethereum.

But if you don't have an option and you can only choose one, I'll go with Ethereum for the meanwhile since Litecoin's halving didn't do that much and effect might be delayed.

Both of these coins are LTC and ETH are good for long-term investments. So I will choose both these coins to invest. LTC and ETH are now still asleep because they have not given any surprises. If these two coins wake up will be very profitable for you.

That's truly right but of course both coins are have high potential to uprise their price, we know ethereum at this moment is going dump again but nothing to worry for that is an opportunity to buy ethereum I believe until bitcoin is strong stay their price at 10 usd etherdelta is still possible to get up their value.

If I were you, I would invest in both litecoin and ethereum. My feeling says that both coins will be the potential coins in the future. Besides that, I like litecoin since I knew cryptocurrency and I feel that litecoin is like something that I should have to invest. I know that litecoin price is not increasing too high in a few years ago than the ethereum, but I am sure that litecoin will rise higher at the right time.

Ethereum is another coin that I want to invest, I miss the chance in the beginning when ethereum was release at first, but I don't miss the opportunity to sell my ethereum at the highest price in the last few years. I would choose ETH, simply because they have such a large network and Vitalik is saying that the transaction costs of ETH are increasing due to the increasing transaction demand each day.
Because of that incident, Vitalik and the Devs team are trying to upgrade ETH to ETH 2.0 with PoS and some new smartcontract changes. they will soon finish it as soon as possible and that event will make the price of ETH rise to $ 1k.

I would go with ETH as it has a much stronger use case.

Individual coin price is I think irrelevant when comparing one coin against another - you need to take supply into account as well, which is why the standard comparison between coins is in market cap (coin price x number of coins).

there are many daaps and projects available on the ethereum platform, besides that ethereum also has a large community. so it's natural that ethereum can be better than litecoin, I personally like both and currently they are already in my portfolio list.

eth only have 1 negative point versus litecoin but what about litecoin ? the price of ltc is lower and that is also 1 negative point to eth but not only that  . i think ltc still have other negative points while eth do have many positive points  .

 most people keep saying that less supply is equals to higher value but thats not always the case that happens on all coins that have a less supply . eth can be your best bet but you can still allocate some to ltc  .

Adding the actual usages of the project, ETH have a good edge in terms of platform being mostly used, comparing the value between the gap is still far

These two altcoins are "Sleeping Giant".
Both have a great future, and are perfect for long-term investments.
But to me, Ethereum remains a top priority than Litecoin.

It's hard to tell because both of them are good for long term investment and if you want to compare coin, look for another. Litecoin is meant to help in transaction because of its speed, and people have been using it for payment while Ethereum is built to support projects that are coming up, so you see that both of them have very promising future and I think you should invest in both.

Everything you said is true, so the best thing that someone can do is to diversify. Don't choose between ethereum and litecoin, both are good, both have potential future, go 50/50 or invest a bit more in one of them. Here little advantage goes to ethereum, from next year maybe they will really become staking coin, so it would be good to have a bit more of ETH in the wallet for that.

In term of Investment Ethereum has more to offer and has more hype compared to Litecoin but in term of technology and future.

Yes, this 2.0 might bring us to whole new level of pump for ETH itself, but I do not think it is going to sustain.

Im still prefer to hold a lot of litecoin compared with ethereum, you can expect ethereum to growth a lot when the next roadmap is starting and ethereum 2.0 is the main point to invest in ethereum. I agree with you the inflation should be the main concern for ethereum but remember about litecoin has the same problem on its usefulness.

Personally I have never trade ltc. I prefer eth as a choice of investment because it as a use case. The creation of smart contract will always make ethereum relevant in the crypto world. Also no matter how the price fall it always as a way of going up again within a short time.

If you do have the money then why would need up to choose? Ive been bag holding these 2 high rank altcoins in the market.Yes,its risky but diversifying out is always been my target.You can lessen up risk by not putting all  eggs on one basket. Supply and price isnt a primary thing to consider when we do talk about projects potential for long term prospect.

I think if we are going to based on it's past historical logs, seems to be ETH is the best choice specially for long term. We all know that LTC is just like a small brother to BTC but it doesn't mean that they have the same set of investors.

Besides, ETH developers are so active and they have plans to release ETH 2.0 next year that could revived the price and could potentially spike the price. Also it is still the top altcoins despite so many challenges and competition right now.

both are good, but after the halving update from LTC and no increase in prices it makes some investors no longer really believe in LTC. whereas ETH, there is an update in the next year. it might be better or worse than LTC, but I myself am sure if ETH can get a better price than the current price.

I am a fan of litecoin and outside bitcoin the next coins i am holding for long term is litecoin. Litecoin is seriously undervalued if we tried to compare it with the old coins like zcash, ethereum, dash and bitcoin itself. I'd like to be honest now and say the truth, i would opt in for LiteCoin. LiteCoin is so underrated because of her owner that sold all his holdings lately in the last year i think. That made a dump happen.
I would love to buy some ltc and get them off the market, there's a good indicator that litecoin is going to surpass ethereum if this last doesn't fix their issues with the upcoming stake 2.0 ethereum network.

Any coin within the space of top altcoins are coins that should really be invested in, because they are the major coins that will remain in the market forever like bitcoin and would also stay with bitcoin for as long as bitcoin leaves, and Litecoin is not exceptional, it belongs to that grow up and Litecoin has been an old project that has a very viable product with very reliable team.

Im must choose for the longterm is Ethereum and that is majority for sure but they have few people who pick the litecoin.
Comparing litecoin to ethereum for longterm ether have a good price which is thousands of dollars and we know about the potential of this coin. But depends to the individual what is best option for longterm but they have solution which is both invest to not cry in the end.

Both of them are great coins to hold, because they are still trading at a very low level. However, a major LTC update has already passed and ETH 2.0 is coming in the nearest future, so if I would be forced to chose one coin, it would be ETH.

For me in my opinion ethereum still a good idea when it comes investment which rather than other alts. What i mean even there are some good alts emerge in the market, there is no one can defeat on it. I prefer ethereum, even at times like this. Litecoin might be good, but when compared to ethereum, I don't think Litecoin will be comparable.

litecoin is a copy of bitcoin, and I haven't heard about the real use of LTC. while ethereum has been adopted by new projects, maybe almost 90% of new projects use ethereum smartcontrac.

Most likely people will choose ETH because we see it much profitable than of Litecoin. It has to say that Ethereum has a sustainable market which everyone looks a chance that it might be able to soar high again once the market is fully recovering. I will always choose ETH above LiteCoin. Over 70% of blockchain projects are running on top of ETH blockchain infrastructure. So, if it is for long-time investment, then ETH is preferable for me most especially when they have Sharding in the pipeline to implement in ETH 2.0

Both coins can be traded in major exchanges therefore whatever you choose we can say you made a good decision.

I would choose ETHEREUM because it has better development compared to Litecoin.
Don't focus about the supply one, it's just a small factor to consider, think more on how the project is develop and when ETH 2.0 will be release, it's another major changes for ETH which is expected to draw positive reaction in the market and which will eventually help to increase its price.

Ltc has been an old institution already in crypto but where do we really use ltc for?
Whereas, eth can be explored to many industries and basically everything under the sun, developers are using the eth network to create their respective smart contracts.

like me, After LTC failed to maintain the price of $ 100, I put my hopes in ETH. although it is still in development together, I might choose ETH over LTC because of the development of ETH 2.0 which will occur in 2020, and supported by halving of bitcoin, it might be able to repeat the things that happened in 2016.

however, I did not underestimate the investment in LTC, only I had another reason, namely, I had already collected more ETH than the others. so, right now I only focus on bitcoin, and eth in terms of investment.

Indeed, that's why it grows a lot during the last bull run, and though there are a lot of projects that are scam under ICO using ETH platform, it's still not enough to bring ETH at this value. For me, the legit project that are still now in the market using smart contract are still big enough to help ETH's demand to rise again.

Great decision, we have to consider the potential of other coins that's why we have to diversify, we can have a top 3, which is no. 1 BTC, 2, ETH, 3 coin of our choice which we will put a decent amount, the rest are just a small percentage of our total portfolio.

I would go with ETH because it has the most potential of any alt out there (in my opinion). Smart contracts can transform the way that the economy functions. It is one of the strongest use cases that crypto has.

As an aside, I don't understand the direct price comparison that people make sometimes, e.g. coin A costs £50 but coin B costs $100, so coin A is better to buy. Not sure if you're making this point here, but I don't get it. The price of a coin means nothing without also considering its supply. As an extreme example, if coin A above has a supply of 1 billion coins, but coin B has a supply of 1 million, that makes the $50 coin A huge, whilst coin B is the low cap underdog that offers the potential for growth. Switch marketcap the other way, and positions reverse. Price alone means very little.

ETH is a good altcoin that is attracting a lot of long-term investors.  Litecoin has not yet asserted itself in the market, only following the big brother BTC but still not having the safety to investors.  ETH always innovates, making investors more interested in reducing transaction costs to compete with the market.

When we do talk about entire token supply and its price aren't really that different yet it would really be still have the same adjustments when it comes to price.
The important matter here is the community support because even the supply is huge it doesn't really that matter.

Choosing between ETH and LTC? I will definitely go for ETH same as yours due to smart contract thing but it isn't bad either to put up some dollars in LTC.

I will choose ETH over and over again because many projects depend on ETH blockchain hence it's relevance. Also, ETH foundation has been doing everything possible to revamp ETHEREUM blockchain architecture, reason why ETH 2.0 upgrade will be launched (a move from POW to POS consensus algorithm). Let's see what the future holds for both (ETH and LTC) anyway, this is just my opinion.

It's not about how much platform that runs on ethereum blockchain as its parent platform. The fact that ethereum has more utility usage compared with security token like litecoin. that makes sense to owned more ethereum rather than litecoin.
ETH 2.0 is not yet begin and again the price of ethereum and litecoin were going down sharply.
ETH is much better and sharding is nothing compared with its utility usage that makes ethereum can't be considered as security.

I would definitely choose Litecoin. because their supply is low and the price is also much cheaper than ETH. Besides, the halving event has not much impact on its price yet, we can expect LTC x2 in the next bull run of the market!

From the current situation, ETH technically looks the best , it has hold its recent gains and therefore could go even higher very soon.
LTC has not done anything much lately. But from other side, LTC in my mind is better choice.

Litecoin has the possibility for higher price increases when mass adoptions occur in the market. but if it is not possible halving that happens will not have so much impact on the price.
whereas if you look at the ETH situation it is possible that there is even a high possibility that there will be an increase when looking at market conditions that are better, especially later will be supported by ethereum 2.0 updates.
but it is all just a basic analysis, there are still many possibilities that can occur and affect how the condition of LTC and ETH assets in the future.

I am the complete opposite here and I will always choose Litecoin over Ethereum. And this is only on the basis of price not of value.

I was recently convinced otherwise about ETH (It took me long time to get over the DAO incident) but even for the value I see it,,, I am afraid the price will always be under pressure unlike LTC that can always grow as silver does.

People will be having difference of opinion based on different factors. Litecoin is good for long term profiting, by the time if we compare the price both the assets have reached in the past it is a win for ethereum. In simple terms ethereum and altcoin were almost close in value, but all of the sudden Litecoin marched high and further on it wasn't able to move along with ethereum. This can be understood going through the growth chart. Based on this I find ethereum better than Litecoin.

I will go for ethereum,  the reason is because ethereum blockchain is superb,  almost all new project wanna run their project on ethereum blockchain. Also lots of projects on coinmarketcap are running on ethereum blockchain,  this development helps soar ethereum price during the previous bull season when ico was still booming

Also lots of trading  pairs on exchanges have ethereum pair, with such development Eth tends to be a good project for long term,  I don't think supply of coin really matters again,  take a good look at Xrp with its supply and it reached $3+ as all time high

Are you really sure that we are taking about the same Litecoin that is listed in the coinmarketcap or the Litecoin that you have personally created because I don’t see any investors that are still putting money in Litecoin, this is one of the project that I have seen not growing at all and yet still counted amongst the top coins, look at the last halving that it had, if investors are still investing in it, how come that the halving never pushed the price up, because if there were investors, that halving should have been the motivating factor that will see to the rise of the Litecoin.

Ethereum can never be compared to Litecoin, the technology of Ethereum or do I say that the product of ethereum is way too important than that of Litecoin.

seeing between ethereum and litecoin I am still interested in ethereum because many ico or IEO users are using the platform from ethereum.  if ltc is indeed in short supply and the price is quite high but the platform has never been used for ico programs and such

If we speak for long term investment I will go for ethereum as of now its almost -85% down from recorded ATH from last year and according to some news many future improvements will happen into eth network especially the most awaited eth 2.0 if this happen price can recover in just a short period of time.

so far I have never hesitated to invest in ETH. however the development of ETH is more visible than other altcoins. Well, I also don't doubt LTC, it's just that I'm very optimistic about the development of ETH 2.0 that will happen in the coming year. I don't know if that will bring many changes to the price, but the potential for price development is of course very large. if this is an ATH problem, it doesn't matter, because we know that almost all coins today are so far from the ATH. but, not all coins have the chance to achieve it again.

For me both are good investments for long term, but if I only to choose one, definitely ethereum is my choice to hold for long term because ethereum is the king of altcoins you know and it has more potential than litecoin.

Litecoin is a good coin, but i am pick on Ethereum as investment. But as alternative if have money like 70% can go to Ethereum and 30% go to Litecoin. It is better than to be confused because that 2 coin really have potential coin. Like XRP and XLM and Dogecoin, all have possibilities to get pumped in future or maybe coins that still survived in market for longer time than others.

While I think that Litecoin is also a good investment, I think that Ethereum has the higher ceiling. Ethereum can easily implement new features and that in turn would boost the price up. Litecoin can not. Short term, I think the ROI would be close to the same on both of them. But, in the long term, I think Ethereum is the clear and easy choice here.

They are apparently in the top profitable coins with good market development which means that even we choose all of them we can assure of having returns not just today but in the future. The smart guys like Lee knew this crap of today is going to happen then they dumped theirs coins on others and now enjoy the nice time, thereby we are here, but they are not. I think I make my case here. While I'm not saying that LTC is useless, it has less functionality than ETH. The things that LTC can do can be done with BTC. Trading LTC in the short term for its price swings wouldn't be a bad idea, or even using LTC as a means of payment given its low tx fees. But if I had to choose for the long run, I'd bet on ETH, since it has more upside.

Of course this will be the most reliable and most lucrative investment bitcoin in the market. Difference of opinion can be seen among the users on different cryptocurrencies. Mostly people who have ethereum in their portfolio will also have Litecoin. In one way Litecoin was popular than ethereum as it follows the algorithm of bitcoin. I like Litecoin more because this coin has inflation limits. And Ethereum can be mined to unlimited quantities. This is a weak factor for raising the price of Ethereum.

ETH is much more better than LTC in terms of investment. For trading LTC chart may hand more opportunities. But when we compare ETH and LTC, ETH have many advantages than LTC. High number of developers working at ETH base is the strongest part of ETH.

Here we talk about two different coins, eth is a platform, ltc is a currency. Eth will go POS from the next year, miners will continue to mine ltc. Litecoin halving was month ago, more or less, that didn`t affected the price at the moment, but lets give it a time.

I agree with all of that.  Litecoin is just a fork of bitcoin, and it's barely even on my radar these days.  There might be some businesses that take it as payment, but it's a coin that I don't think has much of a future.  It might gain in value if and when bitcoin starts going up, but I highly doubt it'll appreciate in value on its own.  Litecoin isn't a shit coin by any means, but I don't think it's a good one to hold if you're looking for long term gains.

Conversely I think ETH is going places and at the moment its been smacked down hard in the market, so I've been scooping me up some while the price is cheap-ish.  I'm not a big fan of some of the crap tokens that get released, but there is potential there if someone comes up with a project that has value/impact/whatever.  There is definitely more to be done on ETH's blockchain than litecoin's, so the choice here should be an obvious one.

Most of the devs are scammers, and just because they use the platform doesn't mean the value of ETH is going to go up.  But as I said, the potential is there.

Litecoin is also a very good project and it can also do 2x as much as Ethereum will do also, the same way that Ethereum is not doing very well is the same way that Litecoin too is having very great issue which the market is going to recover, and will surely affect them both.

I don't like Litecoin at all. It's nothing but a copy cat of Bitcoin except the mining algorithm and the block time. I really don't know why the Chinese traded this coin heavily before. If you suspect Bitcoin Core is going on a wrong direction, the situation is much worse with LTC devs, they seem to have no direction except to be a testbed for Bitcoin.

However in terms of tech backing them, I'm a larger fan of the Ethereum foundation and where it's taking the project.

Litecoin is one of the best altcoins in the top 10, it always brings surprises to investors. however, if I choose between Litecoin and Ethereum then I will choose Ethereum. It is not easy but it is the only thing we can do to try to help newbie investors to not lose their money to scammers, we cannot control the market of icos and we cannot control the number of scammers either.

Our only option left is to inform others about suspicious projects and even better we should teach them how to recognize the most obvious scams, obviously this is not enough since there are some scammers that are smarter than others and they can make their projects to look real, but at least we could help them to recognize a decent percentage of the scams on the market for what they are.

It's hard to prevent newbie to invest on scam projects because they usually not reading a community forum like this before investing and they will be just invested based on what the project promise to them, big profits, low risk, and other bullshits. But at the end they will ended scam and start to find a place to pour out their annoyance about getting scammed

I know that what you are saying is in fact what can be expected out of newbies but at least we will do our part in trying to reduce the number of scams in this market since there is no other realistic way to try to reduce the number of scams.

But newbies need to do their part as well, for how log are they going to believe that you can make a fortune in this market without any effort? The only ones for which that dream came true are those that invested in bitcoin, ethereum or other similar coins at an early stage.

I would choose ETHEREUM rather then LiteCoin just based on who the developers are just alone

Or Charlie Lee who sold out his LiteCoin

Eth actually has more power than Litecoin because the Ethereum team is always active and has lots of new updates for everyone so holding Eth will be safer than Ltc. I had a period of hold these two coins but only Eth was the coin that helped me to make the most profit during the past. Maybe Ltc is still a top choice for many people but I like Eth technological change.
Of course you have the right to choose which coin is the best because I believe that if Bitcoin can be stable in the near future, all altcoins will trend increase .

I think the amount of supply is not a top priority, obviously ETH has more supplies than LTC, maybe another thing to consider is that with the large number of adoptions or the community having significant influence, I only hold the ETH at this time because they have high potential values like 2017 ago and transactions that might be faster

I prefer ethereum over Litecoin for long-term investments. What is the reason.? 1. Ethereum's use is already evident in growing the crypto industry today.
2. With the basic and growth of the Ethereum project in smart contracts, many new projects are using the Ethereum platform. it signifies perfect progress for ethereum.
3. faster growth than other altcoins and many investors believe in ethereum.

Giving the scammers the freedom to creat projects is not the fault of the developers but when that happened their network got bloated and the network started to get congested and they never anticipated it earlier, with regulations in creating any projects like this, it will be helpful for only scammers to come up with projects.
I would trust litecoin here in this situation as it is far better than ETH set out to be if you take into consideration about the long term profits.

good reason. I also prefer ethereum over litecoin. Besides the reasons above, I am also waiting for the development of ethereum 2.0. I think, with that, the potential of ethereum is clearly higher than Litecoin. I also heard that Litecoin has just halved, but the development of Litecoin prices is not very significant. so I prefer ethereum for now. at least I will hold it in for years to come.

For me Ethereum is always my personal first choice, since I feel that its the most undervalued currency and has the potential to go way up. Although it has unlimited supply of coins.
I would suggest 70/30 for ethereum/litecoin, since its not a good strategy to place all your eggs in one basket

I use Litecoin for payments and I think it's a good coin for payments and the fee is very cheap. I see this coin as a payment but I don't want to look on it as a long term investment. It's obvious that I'm with Ethereum here.

Though the smart contract era is nearly gone but Ethereum can stand alone, while Litecoin, the main developer of it which is Charlie Lee has already abandoned this coin, right? this is like dogecoin and btc, although the main devs has gone it keeps on processing transactions.

I would still choose Ethereum. It has proven us a lot and it even passed all the tests of time. We can't deny that Litecoin has a huge potential as well but Ethereum still has a lot to prove us in the future. As for me, it's good for both long term and short term investment. If we know how to deal with every changes in Ethereum, it will be easy for us to earn through it.

ETH is certainly very good to invest compared to LTC, why is that because there are so many ETH-based tokens, and eth, although now the price is shuffling but still has a good and strong future. Ethereum value will goes to moon very soon and investors are really needs to invest on this coin to make the profit very soon. Ethereum domination in the volume also reduced and stable coins capturing the market slowly. If the growth is fast then everyone can find the big profit very soon at the time of halving.

I choose ethereum than litecoin, in my opinion ethereum still has a chance to continue to improve, this is because of the large potential of ethereum-based tokens that can skyrocket so that the use of ethereum also rises.

If you look at the development of litecoin they are much improved and have an use case than Ethereum and now they are planning to have a privacy feature in litecoin and that is more interesting than any other development in ETH, the days of ETH is over in my opinion unless they undergo a regulation procedure that any company can use their platform to conduct an ICO under strict tight regulation and i highly doubt any legit project going through that pain to collect seed funds rather than approach angel investors.

And don't forget the ETH 2.0 will release next year it will create more hype and that was the reason why the price of ETH might increase next year .all though litecoinstake is also good coin but in terms of potential profit it's better to ETH and wait for next year.

these days?after more than  2 months of this post?no regrets its ethereum is the best option ,looking the progress of litecoin?i dont see any good future so far,i though in 2018 after they change the LOGO is the signal of their bull but no i am fail,so i converted my Litecoins to Ethereum and Bitcoin for safe keeping and for a chance to profit atleast this halving season of Bitcoin next year.

Litecoin is a good coin. There is no question about the level of confidence in this LTC, only I have been reluctant lately to buy it because the last two months are still relatively stable and besides, I have not found the fundamentals that might push LTC prices next year. 

and Ethereum is also a good coin to hold long term, due to Ethereum 2.0 I am optimistic there will be an increase next year. 

so here I prefer Ethereum for long-term investment, with the reasons I mentioned above.

the two coins between ethereum and litecoin have advantages and potential. but maybe if you look at the current conditions I think the division of 60% for ethereum and 40% for litecoin is good for the first investment. because the two coins can now be used as one of the types of coins that have the opportunity to develop well in the future

The options you are talking about are not real, it may seem as if we have thousands of coins in the market but if you eliminate the copies, scams or derivative projects we are left with only a handful of coins.

If you want to take the risk of investing in those coins then you can do it, no one is going to stop you but I will always think it is a bad idea, just because those coins can give bigger profits we cannot say those coins are better especially since those coins could as easily give you bigger losses.

Both litecoin and ethereum are like sleeping giant waiting for the appropriate catalyst that would trigger them from rest thus the appropriate period to buy them is now although nothing is in the swing now that might push up the price, however the future outlook of crytos in 2020 seems to be very bright thus a wise decision for any trader or investor is to buy now and accumulate based on low pricing of the two coins now.

In my opinion, it will take some more time for these 2 coins to return uptrend because these 2 coins are very good for profits if you choose to invest in the long term. In fact, this year is not the best year for altcoins because Bitcoin is still very volatile and investors are still very scared when investing. I think in 2020 everything will be different and if LTC, ETH can increase, this market will have a huge change.

The sleeping giants like Ethereum and Litecoin will be the best market performers considering their past history in the charts. The good chances can be caught if the crypto traders have a good plan for the next uptrend market, the recent market conditions will not even give the x2 return on the investment. Overestimating the altcoins can cost big if the BTC moves alone in the bullrun.

I would surely go for Ethereum over Litecoin for the reason that it is more popular in this industry. The reason might be shallow but if you are not new in this market, you would understand my point at the first glance. Popularity makes a crypto strong since its market value is dependent with the demand and supply. If a coin is popular, demand would be high as well as the market volume which makes it a better investment at this aspect over LTC. But still, LTC is a good coin. It is just that I believe that ETH is a better investment.

I hear this a lot, what do they exactly need to start to recover? Litecoin went through its own halving and ethereum has implemented many upgrades and the coins have not grown at all.

People need to stop deceiving themselves I am sure those coins will recover but it seems that many are expecting that those coins give the same profits that they gave in 2017 and it is really difficult for me to believe that we will see something like that especially when the market is going down again.

I like to invest in technology projects and Ethreum is the most suitable project for my long-term investment because the potential of this coin is expected to be very promising in the next few years. Currently what people are waiting for is about to happen and hope that after ETH 2.0 was launched, this coin will have many improvements. I don't know when the change will occur but ETH will undoubtedly return to the $500 someday.

Both were highly potential assets over different platforms, but for a long there is no big growth. Long back both ethereum and Litecoin came close in value, and further there is growth with ethereum while the expected Litecoin based on its halving didn't grew. In today's market ethereum has fallen low to $150 and Litecoin lower to $50. Hope the growth will soon get ignited along with the bitcoin which too is declining fast.

Litecoin is one of my favorite coins, it has brought me many profits in the past. I believe long-term investment in Litecoin will bring us a lot of profits. however, if I choose between Litecoin and Ethereum then I would definitely choose Ethereum. ETH is the queen of the market, I guess that in a few years ETH will grow and have high value. This is a good opportunity for us to buy ETH because its price is still low.

Absolutely right,  supply is dosen't matter if the project is strong liquidity in the marketplace. I mean how much effective products have in the project. Undoubtedly Ethereum is the majority using in the cryptocurrency market that's why it’s price is too much high and second largest marketcap coin. Litecoin is also huge potential coin in the crypto space. But it’s price highly decreasing day by day. Market is going down badly i think just wait a few days than you can buy both of coins.                        

I think for Ethereum long term investment is a good choice, why? because maybe you already know if this coin has good potential in the future. ETH or LTC, the comparison between these two coins is very far from the total inventory and the position on CMC Ethereum is far superior. A natural thing with what you say and I also think the same as you that ethereum is still the best when compared to LTC. although it is undeniable also that LTC is also very good and can be relied on for investment, only the advantages of ethereum are clearly more happy and fond of, especially investors. because ethereum is still used as a reference for altcoin other than bitcoin of course. the prospect of ethereum is very reliable when bitcoin is down, ethereum can survive and even actually goes up.

I holding both some years ago, but i preffer Ethereum because is much used and also with smart contracts, but you can buy with 70% of money Ethereum and with 30% litecoin and hold for next bull run.

When you are investing in Ethereum make sure you have a clear idea about the tokens using the smart contracts and how many projects are successful to keep on using them, there are a ton of fake tokens and are flooding the network and you might have experienced the delay while sending your coins and tokens a few months back and the update might not change everything, i would invest in Litecoin simply because they are planning to shift the focus of the project to privacy based coins, lets see how things will move in this market, either way i am holding both these coins and if i am getting a profit, i will gladly accept it.

any coins with a good product has the same potential to grow a lot in the future. The smartcontract must be the reason why ethereum fits for long term investment but it's over valued for me. I just try to take credit as a cheap coins with a huge potential. Ethereum is better than litecoin and that's true consider about ether has mode utility usage than litecoin.

With all due respect to Litecoin and Mr. Lee, I'm afraid I would choose Ethereum. I don't know why, but Litecoin is growing very slowly and despite the fact that the transactions are quite fast and the fees are very low, I do not think that it can handle the weight of greater adoption. Ethereum is much better suited for large-scale adoption, and if the upcoming hardfork succeeds, its value will definitely increase significantly.

A poll would have been given a clear picture about the opinion of people, As far as I have seen the thread, ETH is most preferred and may have a great future if they start putting regulations on how the tokens will be created. Litecoin on the other hand is at a very low position and coming up from here is hard work.

Based on the current halving time and effect I will suggest to invest town litecoin because we will find the same growth what Bitcoin gonna see that same thing will be available on litecoin market also.

Ethereum if anything. Forget about LTC.. It was dead years ago and never fulfilled it's role as a silver. Now there are so many other viable options that just do the job much better. People don't really even need a real life silver for storing value so why would we need a virtual one.

Ethereum is the clear choice here. A few years ago LTC would have been a really good option, but the crypto landscape has changed. Ethereum just offers a lot more than just a store of value with all of the tokens and dapps for it. With the new developments coming from the ETH team, I just don't see LTC being able to keep up during the next bull run. You will more than likely make more off of your ETH investment than you will with LTC.

This is a pretty difficult choice for me because both of them are very good in my opinion, but if I have to choose then I will choose ethereum because I have used it for a long time and also have some in my wallet.

Dogecoin has at times already been the dominant scryptcoin in recent times, more hashing power than Litecoin making LTC the merged mined coin and Dogecoin providing security for it. Long term not looking good.
