Title: How do you choose which altcoin will you buy?
Post by: SheriffEl on November 11, 2019, 10:01:47 AM
Hello

Recently I started looking into new projects as I have some free time and I'm wondering what do you guys look at when you are deciding which altcoin to buy and hold.

Do you know any projects that you believe has a bright future?

I hear a lot of people complaining that they bought coins that were either dead in a few weeks or the project was pointless. I would like to avoid such situations.

Thank you in advance.

Hey. for newcoins on the market I usually check Coinmarketcap / recently added.

Then I look for the tokens in my niche (simple blockchain project for trading, education, payments etc, and not extra project that promise to change the world to a better place)
.. I find interested in MGX and NWC tokens from this week.

After that, I check the supply, price, holders and all the data behind it

finally if I liked the platform I consider investing and holding for the long run.

I don't know projects that have a bright future but I know good coins for long-term investments like BTC,ETH, EOS, LTC & BNB. You can invest with it and make sure you are always ready with every decision you have made as well as the risks.

Before choosing the altcoin I always find out the progress of the project and the community. development is needed for a project to strive for the future because without development there will be no demand coming in from the community. if the development and the community are balanced, the project will survive no matter what happens with the market. development is important to make the way for the project and the community is as important as development because without the community, the project will not be used and has no value.

Two main criteria:

1) technically innovative, in ways that help decentralization and censorship resistance

2) fairly launched, so you're not lining someone else's pockets

https://messari.io/screener/fairly-launched-50C491D4 helps to judge the 2nd criterium, although their database is far from complete.

make sure the telegram channels, Facebook, Twitter and other social media have a large crowd and all real users are not from bots.
avoid projects that don't have any function in the crypto world.
observe their trading volume and which exchanges are listed.

Base on my opinion, if we speak about which coin we should buy and hold, for me that's a complicated thing since most of the people here are often recommend those coins/tokens that they will holding also, in that case i believe that It would be useful if you will be the one to make a decision od which coin or token that you will hold for a long term. But just choose those platform that has already a tract record. base on the top 10 list on CoinmarketCap.

It seems better if you research the projects that you want to support yourself and start investing your money in them. Because, everyone's views are different and surely we have our own choices and you too, it would be better if you focus on 1 project that you trust and do all-in on them. But I don't really recommend investing in dead coins, usually they have abandoned the development of the project and there is no good future for long-term investment.

in my opinion, you are better to learn market sentiment first. after that you can learn how choose good coin

market sentiment is more important, bcz good coin in bad market sentiment means nothing. it cant get pumped at all

it is different if you buy even shitcoin on good market sentiment, it is possible to get pumped

Choosing whether coins are what really benefits us and has something to contribute to further crypto development. I also look at the bloggers' reviews here and I also read their white papers on whether they have a good project that will help attract more investors. And of course its market motion is whether it is controlled by whales.

lately I buy and hold TRX (tron), currently the price tends to be cheap. everyone is different about understanding or analyzing projects that have the potential for the future, this all requires considerable time, thought and capital. if you want to invest in ICO or IEO projects my advice is to choose projects that have new innovations in the public. the best I think is investing in the top 20 in CMC, or having a real product, so that the supply of coins or tokens is still needed.

A bit hard to ensure it as far as I know. Even, most investors who choose new altcoin for their investor place be it through an IEO or ICO they will choose it as short term investment. I mean, when the token has been traded on the exchange and they will sell all of them if has got a profit. As you may know, the price of new altcoin will increase a lot when the exchange has opened it as a trading place.

So, I don't have any suggestion to enlighten you regarding this. But you need to see the cycle and make an analyst against it. I mean, when there is an ICO or IEO appears don't spend your first. Just make an analyst the ins and out of the project and see it the development until the coin has been traded on the exchange, and the last see the movement price of the coin when it has been traded for the first time and with the current price that you see.

for altcoin investment you should buy altcoin which is at the top rating because investing in IEO projects has more risks. therefore it is better to invest in altcoin which has the potential to be profitable unless you have the ability to invest in projects

If you prefer IEO projects most investors prefer to buy IEO's listed on Binance exchange because they are automatically listed on exchange and expect a good volume after the crowdfunding. But make sure that you did research before you buy anything because exchanges won't influence projects future performance.

As far as this market is concern, it's tough to choose for any potential alts without doing your research, many will give different projects which they supported and offer qualifications, but it's still your good judgement to pick what you think is good for your investment. Deal with your good research
and follow projects that already have a good communities, communicating or interacting with the developers will enlighten you to whatever progress the team have to offer. It's a good basis of moving project to support for longer engagements.

Easiest choice ever. Buy the top 1 in market cap (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/). Advantages:

  • Huge liquidity and many ways to exchange with fiat.
  • Many use cases if you want to spend it directly.
  • Solid network - lots of mining power securing it.
  • Name recognition, public acceptance etc far beyond any other coins.

Nowadays mate it's so hard to find a good project that can be demand in the crypto currency community. As we recall on the previous years there are a lot of scams and unsuccessful projects in which some users and investors here become afraid and have doubts to invest as they already have a huge losses. Well, my suggestion is to research and study more time about the kind of project would you like to choose that can be demand in the world of crypto currency.

Choosing the project must be done with research especially in altcoin which tends to be prone to death, seen from the developer how it works real, has a relevant plan going forward, tokens in the live market means large volumes when trading, the point is better to find the top in the Coinmarketcap order will be better.

it is not an easy task to perform. it requires a lot of experience and then a lot more luck.

i'd say you can categorize your choices into two categories:
1. real projects that have something interesting.
for these you have to have a good understanding of the technology and be able to look at the code and see what it is doing. and also you have to be familiar with a lot of projects specially bitcoin.
what you need to do is to start by reading the coin's paper and follow that up by looking at the code. see how much of it is actually new and how much of it is copying bitcoin.
more importantly see if the new things are any good (this part is very hard) or is it just hot air for advertisement and pump and dumps.
these "good" coins rarely give you any decent profit though. because these coins will never be pumped. they may have some rise and give some profit.

2. the shitcoins that get pumped and dumped.
obviously we all want profit. looking at the market and the top altcoins on coinmarketcap it is palpable that only shitcoins can get the biggest pumps and as a result give the biggest profit.
to make profit like this you have to be an active trader that have lots of time to watch the market and analyze it looking for pumps then as you catch one in its early stages of the pump you jump onboard and ride the pump to near the top and before it reverses you dump it and get out.
this is a risky strategy but the profit is a lot higher.

Check if that project already have a built product, managed by a experience team who are scared to ruin their names and partner with known or trusted companies. It doesn't matter how big or small the companies are but didn't have a bad reputation as well complaints can be a good start to support them and lastly check if their product answers why that product can last long in the system, it should solve a specific problem in the system or will be in use for practicality.

I take the product as my primary consideration to determine whether if that was a good project or not. As a project that has been running for a few years, the product is a must consider that will reflect the consistency of the developer itself to make the platform even bigger from time to time.

I put my attention to the usefulness of the token or coin to consider about this is crypto and to be a good platform. The token must have utility usage rather than become security.

Yes, I do know about that if just like litecoin, crypterium, CRO and many more. They are all having an actual product, and so many people are still using it. For some companies like crypterium, CRO, etc have launched their product and they have active users. The company can get revenue from there to do more R&D.

This is not investment advice but, i try to tell you something I know about that.

The first is to make research and determine the function and if the altcoin does have a potential of growth.
Like this one, I specified..
there are several things that will become my research
- I will make sure this project has a large and active community
Yes, this is one of the most important thing, to see if the project has enough community to keep the project active and make sure that more crypto users will hear about the project.

- see project partnerships
This can help to determine if the project is really serious about the project, partnership with a popular company or other projects can help to make the project stronger.

- see history of trading volume every day
Studying the market is also important, actually, it may be hard, but it is needed to know if an altcoin is good or not.

- see which exchanges are listed, it would be better if the project was on popular exchanges
I do agree, this is also one of my options to see if the project is good, listed in a popular exchange can help to have a large volume of an altcoin.

generally see project products, project partners, team & developer backgrounds, project road maps & how much confidence you have in investing in new projects. there are currently many new projects that end in fraud, especially with projects that offer large bonuses to investors, you need to reconsider before investing in a project like this.

I think before you invest in a project it is important that you know everything about it. Its background and its future development as outlined in the project whitepaper. Knowing also about the team and supporters would tell something about the project just like the community it has and how the team handles inquiries of its community.

I think before making any purchase of any kind, that one should practice their Due Diligence beforehand. Some people see gold when they look at all of the different altcoins in the market, then decide to throw all of their hard earned money on projects that either have no abundant future, or a copy-cat clone project that adds to the many alternatives that are already over-flooding the market. It is good to do research before you buy in and find out if the coin even has a future. Check out the team and the community behind the coin. Do they offer a white paper, a general road map for goals and overall transparency?
You have to ask yourself whether or not you see the project prospering in the future. I'm sure you'll receive plenty of advice within this thread but please remember to practice your Due Diligence first.

Mainly looking into new projects is not safe for a newbie, i hope you understand what it takes to pick better altcoins? if not you are better off with old altcoins, many new altcoins are in disguise, they aim to fool people that they can actually deliver quality project but as time goes by they stop following their roadmap, be very careful with new projects

Notice: Beware of scammers, they have nothing to offer and their projects are based on copies from other working projects, fake teams with stolen identity and copycat whitepapers

The new projects i am most interest in these days are exchange tokens, if the new exchange have real pro teams they will do fine, exchange tokens can really be valuable in just a year or two, still some new exchanges are bad, do your own research on them first

But it is hard to decide if the project is needed or not. You can attract investors on this "promising" product, but the really would be that noone wants it. How do you get these informations that the product is really needed in a crypto community?

Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that i buy without giving much thoughts about it because of its huge potential. However with altcoins you got to be very careful or else you will definitely end up with shit coins. Look at the following factors at least when buying into any altcoin but don't limit yourself to these.
1. The experience of the team members and whether they have already worked with other companies before.
2. Do they have  a working product or a demo one at the moment.
3. The use case of the project. Is it something which has a real world connection which blockchain solution would be a great help to?
4. Does the team have a good marketing plan because nobody will know about a product until it's marketed out there.

With a good and potential coin i would say go in for TEM, it's quite young and i think its future is going to be great.

If you are looking for a token/coin to invest with, I highly recommend to go visit Coinmarketcap and look for top-ranked coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and more since they are the most liquid in the market that could probably bring a high return. However, if you still wanted to invest in new projects make sure to have some research first where you want to invest with, check for their development, their roadmap and if they will able to reach their hardcap. There's a lot of projects that do not meet their goal so better to do some analysis first.

The truth is very simple, if you are in doubt because you are a beginner, you better choose 10 of the best cryptocurrency digital currencies besides Bitcoin which are trusted and profitable and you can check them here:
https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/
https://www.coingecko.com/id/exchanges

and besides that what is more important is to have knowledge and understanding of the workings of cryptocurrency and the technology that underlies their business, in every investment there must be a Risk / Reward, but this risk can be minimized with adequate information and research.

There are hundreds of judgments that will affect this decision.

But examining the partners of the project can save your time in the short term. Besides, the exchanges of the project listed, also important. If the volume of the project is in shit exchanges, the volume is probably inorganic.

You can have a lot of information about the project just by looking at these two data.

I am looking with new project listed one exchange market because many investor keep waiting for buying and selling with new listing coin. I think most profitable investing with new altcoin than old altcoin but only with short term investment, you can't hold long time with new altcoin listing on market, never keep holding more than one month later.

there will be more to consider before deciding.
choose the ones with considerable amount of volume probably about $50M+ daily, you'd mostly see them on top 50 but also look at the price and the technology if the possibility that it can be achieved. the last is going to be hard to why not just try the very obvious coins that are on the very top 10-20.

I usually look at the projects team if its not fake, the concept of their project if it's unique, if they are active attending conferences and having AMA (Ask me Anything) on different social media, listed on a decent exchange with good trading volume. Not a fake volume generated by bots on not well-known exchange. Listed on CMC or coingecko with good reputation don't risk on suspicious projects.

Everybody wants to want things to be better for the future, but who knows what will happen in the future. If you want to want a coin for the long term, first identify the coins you want to have, judging by the characteristics of the coins with the situation or circumstances in accordance with the future. Predictions in accordance with existing facts.

When researching a project  look at its wp and team. Wp shows their goals and the team shows how strong the project is. But, in my opinion, the team should be a top priority. Regardless of the product, if the team is strong, it moves it to the dimensions no one expects.

I hear a lot of people complaining that they bought coins that were either dead in a few weeks or the project was pointless. I would like to avoid such situations.
This is very complicated, because I can't describe how shitcoin is with a single sentence or article. To understand, you must use your own experience.

It is not an easy decision, because every day it is getting harder and harder to determine a good projects. Even scammers have good whitepapers, real team members and an illusion of a working product, so be very careful and invest a lot of time in checking project before putting your money into something.

Choosing long term altcoin investing for the future better take investment with altcoin on top ten coinmarket cap, you can choose which one to ten altcoin for investing as your future investing like ethereum, ripple and you can invest with BNB coin or Litecoin. as your future investing become most potential to get higher profit but if you buy shit coin never take holding for long term.

In my opinion,  altcoins that are worth buying and investing in are crypto which focuses on privacy. Because cryptocurrency that focuses on privacy is a type of crypto that always has a fairly high level of demand. There is always a need for privacy and anonymity, regardless of the type of trends the market is going through. Although this crypto may experience a decline due to the market drop, there are still good opportunities for crypto that focuses on privacy and are least affected during the Bearish Market period. One example you can see is Dash and Monero. Other cryptos that have evolved like Verge have increased at the beginning of the year but it did not last long when the market declined and made large losses. However, time-tested ones like Dash and Monero will continue to exist.

I've bought all the altcoins I think I'm ever going to own right now, so I don't really check cmc for the top ranked ones, but this is a good suggestion for a newcomer who wants to know which coins are the 'best'.  I don't know where the cutoff is on cmc's list, but I would say probably the top 25 are worth thinking about investing in.  After that the quality of the coins drops off a cliff.

Besides that, I think proof of stake coins offer an excellent way to earn income, which is something that most coins don't, and you wouldn't necessarily know a pos coin from anything else by just looking at coinmarketcap's list.

Op, be careful about what coins you buy, because there are a lot of lousy ones out there.  Make sure the market is liquid for anything you invest in, else you're going to have a hard time selling if it comes to that.

For now, it seems investing in ico or ieo is not the right step because if you see an opportunity to benefit from ico and ieo at this time is very difficult, surely you know the reason?
in my opinion for now it's better to save your money than to invest in an ico or ieo and wait for the right time to do it, but if indeed you want to invest it's better to choose bitcoin, ethereum, BCH or other cryptocurrency which really does indeed have a market share broad.

I'm more on looking at some news. If a coin I think has an opportunity in growing I look at its news and by that, I am looking at coinmarketcal.com. In coinmarketcal, you can see news out of many coins. But you should not depend on all of it as true. Some of them are hoax. You should always research or confirm if it's true. Second, I'm looking at their social media accounts. Most of their updates are all in their social media accounts.

I stop looking on any new ICO/IEO instead I look on coins that is available in the market with good liquidity and high trading volume, I use coinmarketcap or coingecko as reference for newly added coins and run my own research on the coin that caught my interest. I specifically look into a big partnership with the project and see if the working platform has a lot of users already.

With more cryptocurrencies debuting on coinmarketcap daily, the task of sifting through for the best crypto to invest in becomes tougher day by day. This has made me go after short term coins more for quicker profit. A good team, working product, Tokenomics (little in circulation) and small market capitalization well below $5m

I have believed for the projects before to have a bright future but it tends that I'm wrong with all of those speculations that I have. This is why I don't look further for the projects these days, if the idea is the same as before.

I wouldn't look on it further. With your worry, most of the coins these days are like those.

There are good tangible altcoins out there that would yriod good profits but the issue is dictating good one which is why good and adequate research is highly needed as you can just buy because people are buying or just buy because you heard news from a friend or group you belong. Doing your own research highly pays and truth is altcoins still pay and people are making it bid through Altcoin so do your research and but which you think is worth buying.

Well, the only chance coins will be dead or fail within a few weeks is if you are choosing the absolute most trash projects to invest in.

The vast majority of projects will actually fall into this category, and most will do whatever they can go hide the fact that they have no idea what they're doing or how to achieve their long term goals.

Personally, I just stick to undervalued projects that have been around for at least a year and have a solid revenue stream. That way you can be sure they're in it for the long haul.

Due market condition are still not stable. I recommend you to invest in just top 15 altcoin. But tbh,  Tron (TRX) is still the best to collect to our bag. They still so cheap right now. Just buy it before ATH moment come's again.

I never get out in top 10 list. However it is pretty tough to choose a project in which will be going strong along the run. The list of factors I am considering is who manages the project because they may consider it rather to be a trusted one. Last one is how frequent the admins entertains you in their question and the rest is a further research on the project in which you consider to before joining up.

Many new project here really can turn scam or hack their investors still you can study it base in their potentials like if they can handle this example if market drops then they still develop this so this will grow like that's one of the situation that developer need to do because market here is very volatile then there's a lot more,Moreover before you do risk or invest then better to choose the trusted and popular already here then find new and do invest only a little on it
The exception is a must for ico consider about the raised funds must make the development can still continue and it doesn't seem the market matter a lot to the project. The market is depending on the news and in altcoin the news will create a rumour and if that will be spreaded among the crypto users and it can create a pump.
but product is everything in the successful and future of the project itself.

Most especially is that I consider the team and their partnership. The seriousness of a project and its team also boils down to how many strategic partners they have got. At least to show that they are serious. Another thing I consider is also the exchange where they have their IEO. I can never invest in projects with IEO on shitty exchanges.

Unfortunately, I don't look at a new project right now because I don't see the new project have a chance to grow in the short term. I prefer to buy the coin which has a history in the market so I can see how good the moving of the coin. Besides that, I think if the new coin has a good moving at the market, that coin can be chosen as the potential coin for trading. But to say that the coin will be good for a long term investment, that will need to research deeper so we can find the potential to increase in a long time.

At the moment, I prefer investing in more reliable and promising coins. Among the new projects, I don't know what can be advised for investment. It is better to focus on fundamental currencies.

I primarily evaluate the people who are behind the development of this project. I look what they have already achieved and what they want to achieve in the future. After all, the project team now plays a very important role in the development. It is much more difficult for new developers to earn the trust of investors.

Check out CMC. First, look for a low marketcap coin that have a little supply, that has some decent exchange listing and quite have volume. These coins and tokens have potential to be 100x when certain glimpse of bull run arrived. Also, might wanna consider POS coin that has masternode hosting, you can earn some coin based on required token amount just by holding.

You can base your decision in coinmarketcap as you can see which project is still active and keep on growing. Top 5 to top 10 currencies there are safe to invest and the risk is not that high compare to other currencies that are still new.

It's better to play safe right now as the market condition is kinda bad but if the market will start to recover then there are plenty of choices that we can choose on and we can gamble to high risk of investment as the return will be high also compare to low risk investment. Right now, holding a long term is the best option for you while waiting for the market to recover.

No one knows in future which Altcoin will go up to his project because at any given time all projects can die even though the project is already famous for any constraints.
Because there are all risks in this crypto, I recommend buying and withholding Bitcoins that do have clear prospects of altcoins.

Of course, I only look at the projects I'm interested in, or if they are doing something which I like in the first place. I have read lots of posts people saying that they invested in a scam or that invested in a token/coin that than failed after a few weeks. How to recognize such tokens? Tokens that you think have a bright future and good project behind but end up failing.

It's hard to predict which one of those projects will have a bright future. As for me, I mainly buy an alts that has a stable daily volume and quite big marketcap if possible. It's better to be on your safe zone than investing on new alts. But if you really believe in those new alts it's all up to you to decide. If possible do your research regarding the new projects you're trying to put your money in. Their team, partnertship and all.

It seems that everyone likes to choose Bitcoin as a long-term investment in this market because the benefits that this coin gives us are really great and have a very high value in investing. In fact, holding Bitcoin cannot make you rich from this time but if you choose altcoin to invest, you will be able to double your profits in short time. If you have accepted to participate, you should risk your investment because fear will only make you spend more time.

I hate to say this but altcoins are now very cheap and should pick some good coins like Atom, BNB, NEO, XLM to hold because these are the recommended options during this time.

Maybe they buy new coins that have just been listed on the exchange, I do not think that all new coins are useless coins to buy, because some new coins can also make a profit. So for me it depends on how we observe the coins we are going to buy, it is better to observe the movement of charts in the market and ask for advice from some people who buy the coins before deciding to buy them.

Nice suggestion but he is asking for any altcoin not bitcoin as you have said, OP, obviously if you want to invest on this thousands of altcoins listed on CMC why not consider choosing on top 10, its the best projects so far thats why they are listed at the top and has many supporters and huge trading volume, you can trade it anytime you want if you want to sell.

I do not want to repeat the other things again. The project should excite you, you should think that is what I look at. What the project wants to create, the team should satisfy you completely.
I just dont buy any of them
Your tactic is good, so you never lose.  :D

For altcoin, I will be guided by the value of the market cap in the top 100 coinmarketcaps. The ranking in coin market illustrates the interests of investors and also the liquidity of a coin or token. From the available figures, we can analyze whether or not a project is a long-term investment

My major parameters before I invest into a project is looking at the

1. Team: The team really have a great role to play towards any project development. Sometimes the use case does not always work. Its the seriousness of the team that will make the project and its use case great.

2. Another thing I look out for in any project is the roadmap and white paper. Bear it in mind that these are just paper works. And that even a quack project can come up with a mouth watering roadmap and white paper. Checking at the roadmap and white paper, one just need to technically review these before deciding.

3. Other things I can look out for is Funds. Does the project really have fund to backup?  Often times I see a lot of projects without any meaningful funds to back it up and I wonder how they intend to cope with the project development and all that.

Nowadays, choosing tokens of new projects can be quite risky. So I recommend that you check almost everything (whitepaper, team members, comments about the project, partnerships, etc.) before investing in a new project. And unfortunately, sometimes even this researches is not enough. That's why I suggest to you invest in one of the top altcoins instead of a new project. Because this way is much safer under the current market conditions.

I don't, I think that if someone wants to invest - BTC is the way to go. Altcoins are all moved up or down depending on what BTC does, and any change on their own is only a temporary buff that quickly sees a correction. They can be used by traders, but for investors, I think BTC is the best option.

I don't know the right trading theory, and you don't have to follow my way because we have our own feelings. The way I choose the altcoin I will buy is to look at the altcpin with the highest price reduction presentation on the market. then I look at its history, what is the highest value before falling, and I will start to calculate, how much the profit presentation if if the price returns to its original value before the last fall. just like that is enough for me. but yes, my method may not have been fully effective, and the results have not yet reached the biggest profit.

Before you decide to invest in a coin, do your own research on that coin. Professional development teams, new technologies and large communities are plus points for a project. Besides, check out the development progress of the project, the white paper and its partners.
If you can test the project carefully, you will choose a good coin and avoid losing your money.

Check the top 10 coins in 2015 and let me know how many are still in the top 10. And would you have guessed back in 2015 which ones were to stay?

5 years from now BTC will still be #1. Other coins come and go.

The team behind the project and the whitepaper are my main criterias for eliminating useless, scam projects. The legit projects have a strong team and working product which is essential to strengthen their place in the competition of the alternative projects. Having deep research and experience let me find promising projects for investing.

Every investor have their own standards and criteria on choosing the right investment for them. It could be based on factors such as popularity, the influence, the team in which that project belong, etc. At this moment, honestly, it is hard to find a good project to engage myself with. I've seen many projects having huge potential, failed in the long run this year. The problem is the bear market. The coins and projects are falling because of it in which I think it would be better to wait for a little longer for now.

If indeed you want to invest in altcoin you have to choose altcoin that is in the top 10 or 20 in CMC, because if you choose a coin that is not yet clear and is ranked below, it will be very difficult and more risky. Now many fake projects are deceiving many investors, do not be lured by the discount given. Must check first. I, as a bounty hunter, also choose projects that I want to work on so that my work is not in vain because I take part in the bounty scam campaign.

Under 20 is doesn't mean scam and you we probably could get more profits than investing on top 20. Just like what happened before to DxChain it gained very big growth in a short time. And sometimes top 20 coins is also have slow growth and also it's not always profitable because mostly the top 20 coins are following the bitcoin movement

The saddest thing is that even in the top 10-20 of the first coins, scammers may appear, and here you have to act at your own peril and risk. Tips like: “study the project” do not work. Because everything can be written very beautifully. But in fact there is no action.

You should be able to see the credibility of the project, it is strongly recommended to look for projects that are transparent about their team members so that we can see the background of each individual working on the project, in addition you must learn the mechanisms and solutions they offer to the community. If that makes sense and they already have the product, then you can pay more attention to details. Updates on development are needed, so make sure you join groups that regularly provide weekly or monthly updates on their progress. There are many more points that you can notice from them such as partnership, how they do marketing, etc.

I supported what you said because the rank hold by a certain coin on the capital market doesn't mean the project is scam free cause the crypto scam are done in varieties of way and there are many coins which are listed on top 20 on capital market and yet they are not good for investment.
Nevertheless, the level of coin support and decentralized nature of coins are what should be put into consideration not coin rank.

Top 20 coins is just for assurance not to be scam but does not guaranteed to be profitable, as some of it were all there when ATH happens and after that they all fell in price and finding hard to recover. While those below top 20 still have many rooms for growth but risky in a way if we don't study it since some may easily do a scam exit or just leave their project. All will depends on how we search and capable to handled risk. I prefer to invest with alts with team actively updating their product.

All what you said are something that work fine before the last bitcoin halving but it not an old strategy cause the crypto scammers are using it to scam investors now (an example (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5018893.0) which i participated in their bounty and update is done after they successful finish their ICO) and this is the reason why some investors believed in IEO launched on reputable exchange site. But, I prefer investing in already working project.

Exactly, but this is not about the old or new strategies, I told him about the general things and basics that new investors must know. Of course IEO is part of the marketing they do, it's like I said before about how they do marketing is very important. If they have prepared a lot of funds then they can go to some well-known exchanges to hold an IEO there, this way can build their reputation faster. However, there are also some projects that have a limited budget and they must find other ways to optimize their marketing.

On the other hand, not all investors are able to take part in the IEO on a some reputable exchange, because to participate there requires quite a lot of funds.

For me, it is important to choose a famous coin for me to buy because you have to make a good investment, you can actually consider the reviews of the other investors if that coin is good to buy that time because they are the one who experienced that. We all know the nature of cryptocurrency, the volatility in terms of price. So every coin can experience downfall but you should have faith in a coin you have invested it. Because you are the one who trusted that first, you should believe that it will go far and bring back the old price, you are the one who picked the coin and considering their platform instead.

It depends on what purpose will it be, whether it's for invest or for transactions. For the former, it is difficult to find projects with great potential or has more room to grow. Many are short lived ans not really for long term investment but you wouldn't know it in the beginning. For the latter, famous alts are great for buying or paying bills online or shop online goods. Of course, I can only use those coins that have been adopted by the online shop.

It is tricky and risky to choose which altcoin to invest. There is no guarantee that you can avoid scenarios like that. All falls on luck and effort of researching about the coin. After that, you need to understand and accept the risks and terms of what you have planned. But again, there will be no guarantees.

In choosing which altcoins to hold, I always look at its background chart. In this way, I can ascertain how far this coin has achieved and what is to be expected in the near future. I can use it as a guide if it can go to the moon or not. For your second question, yes and I believe that's ETH and XRP. They both valued much in crypto market as they've contributed on it a lot.

Do a market analysis, especially fundamentals, to find out market interest.  A strong project with products that are realistic and can be applied in daily life.  there is an easiest way now, i.e. join i.e in trusted global exchanges, it guarantees that the project is quality because compatible exchanges will not be arbitrarily cooperating with random projects.

today almost all altcoin loses its value because of the bear market
even the project looks promising it will be really hard to predict
so in my opinion stay away from the new project for the meantime you will have a lot of chance of losing all your money

The team behind the project and the whitepaper are my main criterias for eliminating useless, scam projects. The legit projects have a strong team and working product which is essential to strengthen their place in the competition of the alternative projects. Having deep research and experience let me find promising projects for investing.
Indeed, the team and the product they are offering should be unique and has uses so it can survive even in bearish market. However im not a fan of a new projects, when choosing an alts to buy I prefer the old coins that's been here for long period as I find it more safe rather than the new coins popping.

Conduct a research thats how you'll find a good project and dont rely with others suggestions it can be bias if they are promoting or shilling a coin.

The team developer determines the course of a project to fit the roadmap. To choose coins to be used as an investment, in my opinion it is best to choose coins that have large liquidity and are actively traded on the market. Top 50 coin marketcap is a good choice as a long-term investment, besides having a large market cap value, it also trades on large exchanges

It my way when i want tkmo choose altcoin as my portofolio.
1. Filtered coins that have trading volume more than $500k ,it means we will easy to liquidate our coins when it already profit.listing in major exchange will be better.
2. Choose coins that have developers team which is very active in their telegroup, and communicate about their plan in near future or long time.
3. Pick projects that have working projects that used in cryptomarket ecosystem, not only on their ecosystem only.for example binance coins
4. And dont forget to analize based on technical or nearest fundamental that will released in near time.

This the simple technique when i buy coins.

Excellent question, the truth is that choosing projects in which to invest is not so simple because there are multiple options, however, we can be guided by some important elements.

The size of the community, when a project already has a significant number of members, then there is a good chance of growth.

Another aspect is the approach of the project and the capacity of the developer team, when you see people who know where you are going and are doing a good job, there are excellent perspectives.

I invite you to be part of a great project, it is the Blondcoin cryptocurrency (BLO), which has more than 14 Exchanges, more than 10 Wallets, a low emission of only 45 million BLO, Ambassador Program, Network of Trust, personalized support, etc.

Best of all, you can receive Blondcoin (BLO) totally free, visit:

no one advises you to invest in new projects. if you want to try it you should try to improve your ability first. anyway if you don't want to invest in a new project that means you don't support market growth with a new project. too bad because you are now also promoting a new project. not only support the campaign, if you can be sure of the project that you support, maybe you can start investing in the project that you are promoting.

Agree, it is important to know the liquidity and trading activities in the market. If coins or tokens are actively traded on exchangers with large transaction volume values, this is a sign that the project is in demand by investors. Choosing altcoin should not be based on price but based on market liquidity

CHL is the best since 2018, its an real estate project with real use case, the token is very limited and it has burn features as well, you can only use CHL to invest on real estate only and get monthly income

No one knows in future which Altcoin will go up to his project because at any given time all projects can die even though the project is already famous for any constraints.
Because there are all risks in this crypto, I recommend buying and withholding Bitcoins that do have clear prospects of altcoins.

You are right, people choose Bitcoin because the risk is not too high than the altcoins if for the long term. If we choose for more profit should take a lot more risks as well.
And it makes us spend too much time when we panic. And the altcoins that you're suggesting are good but not always produce a good profit as well as BNB events that fell drastically, making my friend suffered a considerable loss.

Proper research and good engagement with the team behind will helps you to convinced yourself in buying new or old projects to invest your money. Learning the process of doing research and observe with how the developing teams are doing behind the projects mostly attracts people to support and invest in, there's always a good chance to those people who will not going quickly but carefully analyze the usage of the project should be prioritize when picking project to invest.

If it's a new project then i will check out if it's conducting an IEO or ICO. I will prefer an IEO especially in a top exchange cause there is always a guarantee that there will be a great number of investors for the project. The usecase of the altcoin matters alot especially if it's unique, hardworking and professional team members will be a bonus.

I quite don't like new altcoins as they are too dangerous. I love old altcoins which still keep good moving in price, their team is continuing developing project and make updates as they said. For investment, you should buy altcoins like what i said. When the project have important update, price will move ahead.

I no longer believe in new projects even though Altcoin has a good developer and also has a trading volume. In fact, coins cannot develop. rose several times after the launcing then continued to decline and in the end is not worth or become shitcoin. it's better to invest in old altcoin even though the price of a coin won't fall to zero or die.

Nice, I like your decision because I can relate, the most reliable altcoins in the market for me are those altcoins who survive until now despite of the struggle. They are the strong ones, if we buy them now,  we are buying them at their very cheap price, so eventually as the market recovers, this would also give us a good return as this will surely pump as correction happens.

Experience and options are important for each of us when choosing to buy altcoins, if it is a new project, we should not rush to buy it from the beginning, please follow up for a few weeks, if you feel good then you should buy one. There are few and always up-to-date tracking their progress on how the community works and whether or not the community supports it. If you want to be more secure, it is safe to choose the right altcoins in the top 20 of CMC.

That's true. But besides CoinMarketCap, Coingecko and other similar sites, you can consider based on CCID's Global Public Blockchain Technology Assessment Index. They are rating on the basis of tech, applicability, and creativity. Based on their assessment, the top 3 positions are EOS, Ethereum, and Tron. Altcoins are of different types and they all have the fields they are created for and what you need to do is make sure that what each altcoins you are about to pick fixes in crypto space is something that the whole world can't do without, learn about demand and supply too it will help, if a token has no good demand then the token use case is bad

of course, people who will buy altcoin must consider your advice. but sometimes some people only speculate with trade on an exchange. too comfortable and trust the exchange and do not pay attention to how the ability of altcoin to be chosen. see an asset that has increased and increased trade of course if you are a trader you will be interested in buying it.

I agree with you. It is a huge factor to see if where it is listed before we consider it as a buy option because as much as possible, we should buy cryptocurrencies or altcoins that are listed in a big exchange with great reputation so there is a huge chance for that certain altcoin to grow since traders and investors will trust that coin just because it is listed in a big exchange.

The saddest thing is that even in the top 10-20 of the first coins, scammers may appear, and here you have to act at your own peril and risk. Tips like: “study the project” do not work. Because everything can be written very beautifully. But in fact there is no action.
The disadvantages of new projects always have been there and project investors should have to comply with the unwritten rules of crypto investing. Studying the project will give the reason why to invest in that project, how to manage the risks in case of a bad market situation and so on. If the investor is lazy and wants to take a ready product, I am afraid that a person will learn the truth in a hard way.
I really do not understand why people want to become part of new projects? They already have the best ones with them. Even with a lot of risk and danger, still chasing the upcoming projects does not make any sense. Nowadays, I see scams more than real efforts. In my honest opinion, it is best to choose the trustworthy coins. We do not need any other coin when we have bitcoin and some good altcoins.

Hey. for newcoins on the market I usually check Coinmarketcap / recently added.

Yup, you can choose a good coin where the flow must not have a large gap and if the token has a good buy and sell flow everytime because it has a large potential that the coin would be longer than other coin because of the flow from the market.

If the coin is profitable for in your next trade. That is the actual perfect pick of altcoin so we need to have the analysis idea to do that. There are many trader who usually shares the their prediction on the exchange telegram groups.
If you follow them, that is alone the best way to choose right altcoin.

At the moment, I prefer investing in more reliable and promising coins. Among the new projects, I don't know what can be advised for investment. It is better to focus on fundamental currencies.
Never ever go for new coins the moment they are launched because at that time, the team is giving you great offers but later on we see that the technical team stops working on their projects and lack of updates make their coin die ultimately putting investors in loss. If you have some small amount or you want guaranteed profit, then I will also suggest you coin with famous and profitable coins such as bitcoin.

There are some precise guidelines for how to find the best crypto project for the future :

1. Find ICO in advance
2. Evaluating Cryptocurrency Investment Opportunities
3. See how unique ideas are.
4. Currency distribution.
5. Exchange plans.
6. See which Blockchain is built.
7. See the team composition in each of the expertise and experience in the crypto project.
8. Whitepapers are the most important of the seriousness of a project.
9. Check your community

Hello

Recently I started looking into new projects as I have some free time and I'm wondering what do you guys look at when you are deciding which altcoin to buy and hold.

Do you know any projects that you believe has a bright future?

I don't want to be a smart ass but yes, i know coins that have a future. Question is why would you believe me?
Asking this about people in here will get you only biased answers about bags the users are holding, so you should be very careful with those advices.
Most projects on the top of the coinmarketcap have a future as a rule of thumb but it's not guaranteed in any way.
If you get pointed to coins in here, do yourself a favor and research it hard, and research the competition as well.
Binance research has a pretty good summary about coin projects if you want to start studying : https://info.binance.com/en/research/

I hear a lot of people complaining that they bought coins that were either dead in a few weeks or the project was pointless. I would like to avoid such situations.

Thank you in advance.

Wouldn't we all mate? Hate to say but you have to do most of the research by yourself. And this is the part where you shouldn't cut corners by trusting any shills.

If you're searching for the coins that will fit your needs that do you think have potential, try to visit :

Coinmarketcap.com (http://Coinmarketcap.com)

You can choose on what coins you wanted to buy o invested in but before getting in on one coins / token you should be more clever on choosing what is the best.

Check their development team, what's their next step to improve that coin. Always check their white paper and roadmap for you to easily trace the potential of a coin.

For this, I am not too dizzy because I will definitely take it from the top 10 coinmarketcap. Which of course these coins already have good credibility in running a million-dollar business.
In addition, also do not forget to see what event or milestone they want to achieve in a year. This is very important because it usually becomes a benchmark for fundamental analysis for traders whether to go up or not. But, you must still have your own decision in your heart that which should you choose as an investment.

But if we want more different altcoins just checked it already in the market and make sure is have a chance to increase the price in the future.

Most new projects have very little capital and often don't attract the attention of people so those projects will often face great risks. I never choose to invest if the project is not clear and there is no specific roadmap so please consider before making the final option. Now that there are thousands of altcoins available and there are over 100 good projects for you at this time so investing in new projects may not be necessary.

it's easy, just choose xrp or ethereum to buy and don't need to search for or choose coins that I don't understand. I am among the most lazy people to look for information on coins I do not know. so simple just look at the top 10 in CMC can be the most appropriate as a reference for choice.

I look at the overall project first. then look to see if it has an actual need for Blockchain or if not an absolute need, any benefits. I look to see if it's realistic and if there's existing product or customer base. If it's something I would use or I see a big need for then I look into the team behind the ALT. If the team has no track record I don't buy into it. Not a big fan of random people starting projects with no backing behind it. finally I pick it when there's benefits to investing such as revenue share.

I think any of these traders face a lot of great risks in investing but if they have a smart investment strategy they will avoid a lot of big risks. The first thing to look for in the coin is the whitepaper where I read what their purpose is and what their product is that will attract investors. It's also a good idea that we follow their project and how many investors believe in it because you also know that their project has an impact on people. And if possible we always keep up with their news which will give us an idea of when is the right time to buy their coin.

currently white paper sometimes cannot be used as a guarantee of a successful project. many project teams deliberately make the best white papper, but they are not serious about developing the project and ultimately the project fails. for the current conditions many rely on luck

Before participating in a project, you should find out more about the project first, such as the team, Roadmap and also how the target of the project in the future. Many people's experience losses in joining a project without knowing everything about the project so that in the end, they lose the money they have invested so far due to the project experiencing failure and even fraud.

the development of a project and community are considered things that can be used as a benchmark in choosing altcoin. maybe like the Volume coin on the market and the way developers hold prices we can also monitor. one of them Vechain until now the community is active well and the price still able to make a profit I guess. And don't forget to choose exchangers whose volumes are largely (top exchanges).

I don't think the whitepaper can decide on a project because recent projects are stealing ideas from so many different projects in this market so I believe that whitepaper evaluation is not necessary. In my opinion, the most important thing is to learn about the development team of the project and if the community works well, the project will receive a lot of great attention from people.

In fact, many success factors are needed but if the project has good news that makes the coin value increase, then the project should be considered in the investment.

Not that picky. I just invest on those well known altcoins that are currently dominating the market. You know most of the altcoins are just clone of other coins. Those are the shit coins that gets pumped by the developers and then eventually dies. Go to coinmarketcap. Look for coins that are currently on the top and select altcoins that you think have some nice potential.

I ask my self if I see myself using it months from now? Years from now? If I am going to use it what will it be used for? Will it give me some sort of claim or stakes in a company or project? OR will it simply be used as a means of payment? If so then how fast will it be? What will the fees be? Where does the coin or token see itself in a year from now. All these questions and more I will ask the devs and I will join their telegram and see what they talk about to their supporters and see how they handle questions and conflict and things like that. Then when I can see the project is going somewhere and they have even just a small amount to show for it then I will take part. If all they have is a website and social media then I am not interested. I would rather follow someone with a basic website if their intentions are pure and good. Fancy graphics and websites do not make a project automatically good.

Votality is indeed a major problem in crypto. Many are suddenly rich and suddenly poor because of crypto voting, fluctuating prices make ordinary people or new investors afraid. But for traders who are professional, price fluctuations can be utilized to get profit from any price difference.

Altcoin is a good bit of bitcoin among which is BNB owned by binance or can choose altcoin in the order of 100 in the CMC.

It is very tough nowadays to choose the right project to invest on or the right coins to buy, if you are looking to buy the already listed coins, your best way is to go through all top 100 on cmc if you can, do some reading about them, see the team behind it and else is important to you before choosing which to buy,

But if your interest is on new project, look for those with actual working product or services to offer already, all this many projects in the market with no actual utility are a complete waste of resources, at the end most of them are not able to deliver their promises.

The continuously working progress of the developing teams even there's a big downfall from the market. It's a good factor that the team is not leaving the project and the chance that it will going to bounce back is always possible. It's hard for every investors to pick the right project but if you have a good glimpse with how the project will continue and how the teams are trying to keep the coin alive, you'll be able to buy those coin while dipping and hold for some time to earned when the strong market arrives.

The team isn't important, but the involvement of persons who already have good reputation in the crypto ecosystem will add more value to the project. Also when popular faces were in the team the project tends to keep themselves updated with time. For these reasons most of the time before investing people look for the team behind it.

In my opinion, you should do your own research, like if you think this is what the market needs right now, or if you believe that the project is a good/smart idea, etc. If you are looking at an ICO, I would advise you to do more thorough research and do not invest money right away, pay attention to the project for a week to see if there is any progress.

Two projects that i'm following at the moment are MargiX and Newscrypto, i think that i will invest small amount of money (100-200 USD) and see where it goes!

Altcoins are the most risky investments to ever involve in. This is however because a lot of projects disguise to be the needed solution to particular problems. In this way, being an investor, one needs to be smart enough to making viable investments. I don't usually get carried away by promises. There are certain things I look out for in any project. And they are:

1. Those involved in the project.

2. The projects use case if its viable and promising.

3. White paper

4. The roadmap.

Currently, I am bullish about Etherum and Atomic Wallet coin. Most especially Atomic Wallet coin. The team is very outstanding with advanced know-hows of the block chain technology. Aside this, the team also have other successful projects. Whenever am to invest in any project, if possible, I check out for previous projects handled by the team if successful or not. Definitely a project which previously involved in a successful project (s) will still ensure the current project goes on successfully as they won't want to dent their image and reputation.

No, you do not make a research or a review of the development team of a certain project thinking that they will be able to bring their altcoin to a higher price. This is basically wrong. If a project is worthless, even if the development team is made up of popular high quality programmers and crypto enthusiasts, the project will still end up worthless. You take a look at the development team because you are assuming that with a brilliant development team, the supposed project or product should also be as brilliant.

To buy altcoins, I would trade them with USDT pairs. Things to keep in mind when trading is a candlestick pattern, RSI, MA 50 for short-term trading. Also we need to keep an eye on project news, usually around 5-6 weeks the project will notify the project about updates. If their updates are on schedule, I will trade them

For myself, I would choose coins such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, as I am sure that in the near future these investments will bring good returns. I proceeded from the fact that the price of these coins is more or less stable and this can bring good profit.
These are good coins both have good ability to increase in price bitcoin is the best coin as it is the first coin that was invented to invest your money. ETH is also good but in case of making the investment I would prefer to invest in bitcoin first then I will buy ETH both ate hold worthy and increase in price with the passage of time so investing in bitcoin is good to choose it has good future.

Most people want to get a large income so often they take the risk to buy coins at a low price and hope to be able to get a large profit, maybe based on what the person observed, he saw an opportunity to be able to get a profit so he decided to invest in a coin. But, if you don't want to get a loss or you want to invest in coins by minimizing risk, I suggest you to invest in top coins, maybe into LTC, ETH and BTC.

the first is the project product, the development of coin prices, how active the developer is in auditing the project, how much coin supply is sold in the market, the team always contributes to their group channel and arranges financial management for several other crypto investments or doesn't just focus on investing 1 coin .

For me, choosing altcoin that I first noticed is the average daily transaction, if you have a large daily transaction, it means that the token or coin is in demand by many people and has a prospective product. In addition, in choosing altcoin, I will see whether the coins are traded in many large exchangers

not only that, especially with altcoin ICO we have to see how their tokens grow and look even into their internal team
for me if they are active and have news every week or even month, I will choose the token to invest.

The bases for buying an altcoin which is still offered in an ICO is different from the bases which one should use when deciding to invest in an altcoin which is already offered in an exchange. It is easier to choose an altcoin if it is already in the market for several months. You can already take a look at their performance or their token's condition in the exchanges. But if the altcoin is still in an ICO, it is hard to decide. The risk is also very high.

Choosing a coin to buy practically depends on what i want to benefit from the coin and also how long i intend to hold the coin. There are some coins that can only be profitable on a long term based while some are good for short term. If i want to hold for a short term then i will go for mostly shit coins that can produce 2x, 3x, 4x in a short period but if i want for long term then i will go for coins with working product and a good team not greedy team.

I invested in many alt-coins. What is important for me? When an alt-coin have some purpose, good team and great community.
I invest in long-term, and if alt-coin have a purpose, good team that work on development, great community that supports the
project all the time, that project have a chance to be successful in the future. Success will not come instantly I know that, that's
why my investment plan is a long-term plan!

the development of a project and community are considered things that can be used as a benchmark in choosing altcoin. maybe like the Volume coin on the market and the way developers hold prices we can also monitor. one of them Vechain until now the community is active well and the price still able to make a profit I guess. And don't forget to choose exchangers whose volumes are largely (top exchanges).
Community is what should be the number one check. The developers can easily fake project according to what will benefit them. After all, it is not like that an investor can go and check what really is happening. We do not have any mechanism to verify the words for sure. Also, we should do comparison of the new project with the old ones in all aspects. Even after being confident, little investment should be made initially.
I always evaluate the community first before making an investment decision because if the coin does not have any major activity then the investment you choose will face a lot of great risks. We have to study more carefully and have to think many times because of the fact that altcoins are not encouraged to invest during this time. I'm always quite worried when investing in some new projects and it's often easy to panic sell if that coin comes with bad news.

Hi SheriffEl, I dont know how you and all other traders choose the altcoin to buy, but from me, I ussually check the chart before buying it. I will check from the chart D (day) - W (week) and then check to the volume. If the Day candle is green, it's great, then check the Week candle. If it also green, then we check to the volume. If the buy volume is bigger than the sell volume, it's a good time to buy it!

I don't know projects that have a bright future but I know good coins for long-term investments like BTC,ETH, EOS, LTC & BNB. You can invest with it and make sure you are always ready with every decision you have made as well as the risks.
Yeah, you're right Rikotin, Top coin is safe and great volume, but it's not good for our investment , we should choose the coin which have low cap, and their team is still working like AMB or GTO. These coin also safe and help us have more profit then the top coin. When btc up 5-10%, these coin always up 25-50%, so please take time doing research

For the investment in the crypto or the altcoins I always choose the top50 coins and see the trading volume of this coin. If the trading volume is a decent and have been continuing from the long time in a steady manner then only I invest. Another point is I choose the coin which prices are less than $0.10.

for investment you actually do not only see the rating but the price movement, if the coin has a good movement then you can invest in it. besides the platform owned is also another factor that must be seen

I use technical analysis to know a good coin, bcz I just wanna invest in short term
it is suitable for short term, just find a good chance to buy
TA which I use is simple, just support and resistance, chart pattern, MA, and candlestick
I dont care much about its technology, or any technical thing, bcz it is just good for long term

In my opinion, much really depends on some basis factors, like idea, team, prospects, roadmap, practical value and the milestones being met. And it is very important to evaluate the solution on your own before investing

To be frank, nowadays to buy altcoins demands a lot from the person, especially when it is not among the top coins. What am trying to say is, buying altcoins has passed the era of choosing anyone without proper research etc; as for me I study the growth of the coin, the seriousness of the team, their response to tactical questions and the exchange the coin is listed on. If I sense any hype I stay away from such, because such coins is likely to disappoint.

Absolutely. So of course, better to consider the tokens that are already trading. Thus, you can check the trading volume and understand whether solution is truly in demand

Well, the most interesting solution these days I would probably mention - Verasity and their VRA token. The token itself is tradable on Binance DEX with very high volume. Moreover, the platform itself is already used by more than 700k users worldwide, so you know, demand is real. And VRAB will soon be listed on Binance, I believe, thanks to Binance Community Listing Program, where traders choosing the solutions that are going to get listed on Binance

It is quite difficult to totally ascertain the future of any project because we have so many great projects that started well and has turned to shitcoin today because it's either they did not get the support of the community for continuity of the project or the team itself lost it along the line as they could not keep up with the project because of lack of interest or lack of fund to continue it.

For any project that I desire to invest in, I make sure that I look at the team of the project very well and at the same time consider the product that is being offered. Most of the new projects that are available now are duplicates of already existing ones, so I do take my time to look for the best of them out while I also do the same thing for the holder coins also.

I agree with you, a new project will not guarantee it will be profitable and most will end in fraud.
and choosing the old one is the right choice because it has proven profitable especially in the long run and to avoid worries when the market situation is not good.

There are many way where you can start your search for altcoins.
For me i follow some popular crypto face or channel and get some name then start my research. Always keep on eye on the cryptomarket cap new listed page. And follow some exchanges and their listing. After that i start my research and decided which altcoins are suitable for me which are not.

The only tool that could help you to find good altcoins to buy and we can expect for ROI is to use Coinmarketcap. There you can see prices and market movement. But wait...invest only the number of coins that you can certainly carry all the way and depending of how much is your capital.

Don't get tempted to new and high offering you have seen around cause most of them are fake projects, it will only cause you to lose in the end. Better to secure funds in the old and running potential altcoins for we can get an assurance of returns in the future.

That's not true after few weeks any projects can't be pointless. Correction is building the blockchain community strong. Where dead project price is never returned. Top 0-300 coins can't make you pointless. This types of project can be guess before listed any exchange.

first of all i am looking on the development team
then i go to the twitter page and checking the activity and analyzing how fake it is
reading the white paper , reading blog, checking partnerships, checking github commins
checking the volume, exchanges listed, etc...

then analyzing the history of the chart and the history on twitter
did they stand behind their promises?
did they lie to investors?

i dont invest in a coin that lied to investors even once

its a long process but worths it.

Your question requires a subjective answer. I tend to hold altcoins which I think has a future based on their transaction fee, popularity, trading volume, and roadmap. If an altcoin doesn't have a plan to be developed in the future, then I will avoid to spend time thinking to consider buying some that particular coin. Regarding to your second question, you might be asking for coin offering in which is difficult to give a judgement to and the only person who can ascertain that is you.

When looking for with altcoin I want to buy, I check with how much volume transaction of altcoin it self, if less volume transaction I will not invest and buy this altcoin, check with how many big exchange market listing whit altcoin I buy, if list on shit exchange market never get investing there, now focus with altcoin have higher volume transaction and get listed with many exchange market for listing.
Do you know that a shit project in the making can also have a volume and at the same time enter a very great exchange from the onset which is why we have the term exit scam, some projects are lucky to have hype work for them, they spend money creating lot of advert and hiring influencers to help them create an attractive campaign which will definitely get a lots of users to them, but in the long run, we found out that the project is more of a speculative project and no working project to actually offer the public or make the project to be a sustainable one, so when deciding on projects, I don’t look at the thing you mentioned alone, but whatever project I go for must have these two key factors, a very reliable and verifiable team and a real use case product.

at the moment it's actually hard to choose considering that only old altcoin survives. Old altcoin itself doesn't really bring big profits, it's just good for longterm, especially if obligations like altseason will come again, it's wise to choose a new altcoin that bet on developing their mainnet because I think projects like this are better but this has a big risk, considering too many projects will have their own mainnet.

I choose altcoin for investing whit short term have update available on market, when active trading I think best time for investing with new altcoin but never faced risk with holding for long term. I like use short term way for trading in new altcoin because many investor buy and trade with new altcoin too, if hold long term I think too risk price could be down.

To choose the altcoins that I will buy I usually see from the coinmarketcap website, then choose the top 10 altcoins has the largest
volume. Usually altcoins that are in the top 10 ranked in coin marketcap are very good to buy. If for choosing a good ICO project
I usually do my own investigation, by reading the whitepaper. Then checking the background behind the development team, are they
experienced people. And finally see how they do marketing, should looks convincing. I will be sure to join the project if the above
criteria is fulfilled, the problem is ICO projects now this must be admitted that there are many scams. So we must be more careful
in choosing.

Firstly in this market there are a lot of coin available. And many of them have huge potential.  And it's really hard to find them all or most of them. I started form  YouTube or Telegram group . Anyone talk about some coin and if I never heard of that then I started to search it. That's how I start searching. And one more way I always follow coinmarketcap's new coins list. After that I see their website and go for whitepaper. And if I liked the project then I joined community like Twitter or Telegram channel. If everything seems fine and I think that that project and people behind them are  trust worthy ,then I go for it. But I did many mistakes and I know I will do more. But still till now investing works fine for me.

I stopped investing in new tokens a long time ago, because they did not bring any profit. I realized that it is better to invest in an already known altcoin than to try to find a promising and yet unknown project. Investing in the TOP 20 is as reliable as investing in bitcoin.

Thats the future.
Look at TemTum, in talks with Anguilla and more countries still to be announced.

If a coin is going to survive long term it needs to become a national currency.
Thats the future.
Look at TemTum, in talks with Anguilla and more countries still to be announced.
i can see TEM going $1+ when the news hits.

I've also been hearing a lot of good things about TemTum on the forums lately.

There are many good coins which have good future as well. As for me the first thing I consider is the idea of the project and most importantly if it is achievable or not, this is what I think defines if a project will have bright future or not. Funny enough, examples of these projects with bright future is mostly major altcoins such as ETH, and so on. Although there are upcoming projects which are good at the moment but they still needs more time and improvements for people to ascertain if they will last long term, have bright future or not.

Majority of new coins existing nowadays has the same purpose. You cant see its use case that can solve real problem thats why it turn shitcoins. I prefer to invest in top altcoins because it is proven to be a safe investment (well atleast for me) compared to new coins sprouting because you dont have to think negative that it can turn to shitcoin or cant recover if the market turns bearish.

It's hard for us to know the future of altcoin, so my best way is to go to coinmarketcap and invest in the top 10 altcoin. Certainly, these are the best and easiest to pump altcoins in the uptrend market, and we do not need to worry too much about long-term investment in such projects. They definitely won't be able to die or scam

When it comes to cryptocurrency investments, Before picking the altcoin I generally discover the advancement of the project and the network.

advancement is required for a project to make progress toward the future on the grounds that without improvement there will be no interest rolling in from the network.

In the event that the improvement and the network are adjusted, the project will endure regardless of what occurs with the market. advancement is imperative to clear the path for the project and the network is as significant as improvement in light of the fact that without the network, the project won't be utilized and has no worth

you said you are going to invest in top 10 but what coins exactly  ? a few of them or all of those 10  ? sorry im just curious   . i want to know your opinion so that i can also compare my picking with yours and also other users can compare too   .

if im convince with your explanation maybe ill try to adjust my picking and get a hand of what you get  .

Yes, all we had to see about the altcoin is their current track along the market. The upcoming improvements and plans which this can be our basis to what will the futute path of the altcoins. If they want security and legitimate go for the current trend altcoin in the market. This exactly what I'm doing right now and I also gather information of the new altcoin being launch which you could buy at small amount of money but become valuable in the future.

If you search the internet for guides and tips on buying the best altcoins, you will be flooded with plenty of search results. I have read quite a lot and they would offer good ideas to follow. But in my case, when choosing the cryptocurrency to invest, I always see to it the project is managed by trusted people with a proven background in crypto. Also, I would check if they have good community support that would carry through the project long term.

There are really a lot of projects that are not worth it for investment because most of them are not successful and scams, that is why if a newbie would like to buy altcoins, they should be investing in top 20 altcoins because it is the only coins that has a potential to have a much better value in the future.

the safest in my opinion right now is to choose a coin in the top ranking, so it has a relatively small risk, compared to us choosing a new project in a situation like this. although it is easy to pump, but it will also easily occur dump, causing a great risk. therefore choosing a coin that has been tested I think is more effective

How will the crisis affect your choice?
I will try to explain the question. Above, many talk about investing in popular altcoins. But if the altcoin is not popular (not included in the top 50 of CMC list), but remained stable enough during the pandemic. Is this indicator important?

Exactly, new projects on the market right now often have a low reliability, they don't come up with new ideas, they only offer upgrades in old ideas and compete with old platforms but unfortunately, the market demand for these projects is not high, just invest a little to get profit, no intention of long-term investment. The old platforms are still more attractive and stable, I also accept that we should invest in such projects, the profit may be small but the long term is very possible, top coins and coins of some exchanges, especially bnb, they are priority

First of all, one of the key is it depends on if you are trading on a short/long term

For example, if you are a Bitcoin Bull and you believe it is just the matter of time that Bitcoin will hit $20,000
But, you are trading on a short term duration of perhaps 1 month but BTC current price is only $4,000
So this trade plan is not valid because it doesn't align with the time frame and possibility

Next, Fundamental Potential/Coins Future Value
Example, As the volume of DEFI is growing up, it increases the amount of transaction on Ethereum Blockchain
Thus increase the adoption and usage of ETHER
As long as DEFI grows, it should affect Ethereum price in a positive way in the long run

You will need to make extensive research and make choices yourself . Even if someone give a call to buy a token and things didnt go as expected , the person won't be responsible for your losses. So take full responsibility , do research , make your choice and trade tour tokens.

I make decisions based on three factors
1. Who are the team members?
2. Does the project have an active and enthusiastic community to push price up?
3. Does the token project have a product or everything is yet being developed?
These help me during my choice I love to buy what I can sell anytime without having to worry about liquidity

How is a very big question and it depends on the WHO.

As a buyer, or investor. what strategies do you have ? What plans do you make ? What lessons do you have ?
Do you have a viable and existing research studies before investment ? or you buy and hope ?

This are questions that needs answers first before you can decide which altcoin to buy

Many trader's also prepared to only trade those on the top list in CMC. New project might give you high rewards but also give you high risk that can be lost all your investment if you make the wrong choices of coins.

Same with me i will only stay in top 5 if i just want to earn i just make a short trade not for long trade since there is also possibility of lost in long term.

There are several factors to consider when choosing which altcoin to buy especially at a particular market situation (Bear or Bull market). One of the factors to look at is the team behind the project. Most coins on the market fall in price and never get to rise again due to the inexperienced level of the team behind it. Read wide into the credentials and reputation of the team members using their various social media handles.
Again, search for the use case of the altcoin. Use cases tells the function of the coin. This will inform the investor how the demand level of the coin. A coin with high demand is the coin likely to survive for long term.

This should tell that, the way i buy my altcoin, is different from the manner someone else approaches it.

The key word is that, you should undergo a self discovery and take on couple of trading practices, then discover what works for you.

Most shitcoin even most scam project will have a road map and you can't be differentiate which one a scam project and which one a good project. You can find some guideline how to different them through this forum like this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5120422.0

Find the knowledge first to avoid scam project, and maybe it will need several times to you to avoid it. Currently, the newbie to crypto currency is really need to overcome this knowledge, espcially if they are an altcoin fans then the first step before they spend money must overcome these knowledges.

I agree, they should go for atleast top 5 altcoins in the market. They can choose in CMC which its very useful price compared platform. If they have a lot of time, they can research for possible altcoin that can be great in the future.
Nowadays, a lot of platform are almost similar so try to find projects that very unique and can be competitive along other crypto currency platforms. Know what are their advantage and roadmaps and future plans along the process.

What I do is that, I don't really trade on new coins for now, because I have not really have enough experience when it come to trading.  Better still, I monitor the price of the established coins, like top 40 on the coinmarketcap for a while before I decide on which to trade.  Besides, I try to trade minimum of two so I can spread my risk a little bit.

I always lay  more emphasis on the product backing any project before proceeding to invest in the project. Though, there are projects that literally developed products and abandoned their projects, so, looking out for the very best of altcoins to invest you should ensure to do a background check on their products backing them. Also, doing more research before invest will be an added advantage for every investor out there.

One thing is for the investor to choose the type of project he or she want to invest in, either in PoS or PoW as we'll know they have their respective advantages. Investment is a choice and should be carefully made when venturing into the world of cryptocurrency because many scam projects are their waiting for investor's to scam them of their belongings.

What I do to invest in any cryptocurrency projects is: thoroughly investigating into the project I choose to invest by looking into their teams, their real world problem solve, their partners and partnership with other global agents. Though, I have been more careful since I joined this industry and have not regretted my actions during investing.

I studied a lot of cryptocurrencies and once I found a cryptocurrency PRIZM. Which has no analogues, because it does not need expensive equipment for mining. You can just get it when you buy it and keep it in your wallet.
I use PRIZM for only 4 months, but even for this period I mine PRIZM cryptocurrency in my wallet, I am very pleased with passive income, because it brings me up to 9.9% per month, but it can be more if you connect a node.
Not a single coin with POS-mining technology brings such profitability as PZM :)
Therefore, whoever is really looking for safe, but profitable types of investments, I would recommend that everyone look at this coin. It has an attractive price, because it is not very well known yet, but as we know everything can change very quickly.

Firstly I always keep on eye in new projects. For that I always follow coinmarketcap's recently added section. If I think some project is good then I go deeper. I checked their website, and whitepaper, join their community and if I think that they are okay to invest then I go for it. I don't listen toothers I invest in those projects that I prefer. I follow some youtubers and Twitter account to know which are the hype project but I don't go with that without my research. So whatever you do do your own research before investment.

Known coins for long term. Bitcoin rally will give a high chance to each top projects to rise back, you just need to look for those useful coins where support already there and strongly following the projects developments. Yes, investing in new coins will only waste one's time and capital, because the growth of new coins is still difficult to predict and competition between new coins and coins that are already popular is also very tight in the crypto market.

At the moment, there are over 2000 cryptocurrencies listed on different exchanges and growing. There is no way one could research all these projects. Yet, sooner or later, you may stumble into a great investment opportunity. Knowing astronomical crypto returns, you may not want to pass it. you can get the data about your Altcoin research.

investing options on cryptocurrency seems good now a days, but we should work it on analysis and team which would be better we are in safe side in crypto trading. there are multiple analysis platform are available on the internet we can thoroughly research about the projects.
Research about the coin
overall process behind the coin
coin belongs to which team, their partners
we can check their price growth overall with analytics.

We can buy altcoins from their listed exchanges, these details we get it from the Tokenncoin (http://"https://tokenncoin.com/exchanges") website.
Altcoin or crypto-to-crypto exchanges are cryptocurrency markets that do not have fiat pairs and deposit options. Typically, those exchanges survive by listing less popular, fresh, and promising projects that come at a low price, but can significantly enrich investors in the long run.
Crypto Gaming Assets are now a days booming. i would prefer gaming tokens like playfuel (http://"https://tokenncoin.com/cryptocurrencies/playfuel") and homeros (http://"https://tokenncoin.com/cryptocurrencies/homeros").

Hiiiii

I'm a day trader. I have a telegram group for the Crypto Traders to share the Crypto news and updates and in my group, all the members are traders all are giving some instruction for new traders. But now every trader asking the same question to me How do you choose the best altcoin in the Crypto Industry.

Because of the BTC price fluctuation. So now I gonna share some things that I know about choosing the best altcoin at the time.

All the traders are checking their Marketcap and circulating supply when they choose the best altcoin but we should check this too at the same time we should analyze the if the coin is future suitable for future. for that you just check 1st their Marketcap and Circulating supply and also their website and their social media engagement. Now this time don't think as trader thing as Digital marketer. Now Somebody could thing why should I think this and all but the fact is this is the Digital world. So just think how the new cryptocurrency becomes the get a good place in the crypto industry the reason is the marketing only doing these things. I think now you got my point so check their social media engagement how they are performing and how they are active in the social media platforms. Everyone could think this is unwanted and useless research but this is the important thing in the crypto market.

Now I have researched 5 Altcoins such as ABBC Coin, Nexo, Ardor, self, Insolar. I prefer the ABBC Coin to their social media engagement and their instant reply comments and all good. you can choose this coin to trade and damn sure this is one of the profitable coins in the future.

To choose altcoins I always follow some places. The first place I keep my eye on is coinmarketcap new listing page. There I can see a lots of newly listed coin. And if I find something new I always go for it. Check it's details and if I think that coin is fine I go for that. The other place I also follow some specific crypto telegram group. There are many telegram group or channel available but most of them are not good. So whenever you pick a coin form there you do your research your best. Cause many channels promote ponzi scheme. There are other resources like YouTube and reddit . One more great place is this forum. But kee one think in mind whatever you pick do your own research first and take decision only and only  by yourself.

For now, I agree.Don't expect so much from new coins. However, choosing a coin is of course by looking at its quality. To be honest, for the time being.I chose ethereum in the altcoin range. I think the development will be very good if we relate it to the development of ethereum 2.0

I was tired of new projects, although I did a lot of technical analysis and learned about the project. But until the end, the new projects still became scams and disappeared from this market. It is better to participate in the projects listed in this market, and those projects are in the top 10.

In my opinion, if you want to buy coins in Ieo or Ico, do your research first, and my advice is that you better buy coins that have been registered in several markets such as XLM, TRX or CRO with relatively cheap prices. And the best thing in my opinion is investing in the top 20 in CMC or Coingecko that will reduce your doubts for now.

Indeed. People should be picking top altcoins in the market that has a good development and has a potential to have a good value in the future like bitcoin. Instead of buying new coins that only get enlisted in bad exchanges because it will only take long for you to make a good profit from those shit coins.

Which project is best in future its very taff to say at present crisis moment. But if you go for buy alt coin you can choose ETH, TRX, XLM, BNB, LTC, etc that means you can trust on top 10 coins of CMC as their team commitment is good and circulation.

Best of luck.

It is really hard to tell if you are going to buy in a start up projects because a lot of investors don't really trust projects running an ICO or even IEO projects are not that even successful nowadays. If you are looking to buy and existing projects or coins then there are some top tier coins out there like ethereum, xrp, trx, but I would highly suggest you Chainlink and Tezos as these both coins have been constantly performing in the market really well despite the market melt down due to pandemic these two are still stable and have no show of slow down unlike other coins which been having a hard time recovering from dip.

Coinmarketcap is still very useful in this aspect, I choose from top 10 to top 30 for my portfolio, it's not easy for any coin to get ranked up to top 30 on coinmarketcap
We often choose popular altcoins to incude in our crypto portfolio specially if you're planning to hold for long period its because we have an assurance that it wont turn to shitcoins as time passes. I think its one of the edge of well-established coins compared to the new coins existing.

If the coin can solve real problem then its a coin that is worth to invest. Thus we have to conduct a research before investing our money to avoid ending up in shitcoins.

When choosing which altcoin to buy, what I consider is the utility of the project. I have to carry out a research to see the long run viability of the project because short term investment might not always yield expected profits I go for long term. Again I check for information concerning the team members and I check their Ann thread to see the activities going on and what bitcointalk family thinks about such project as public opinion do matter.

Yes, but I am more in agreement on the choice of the top 10, because if the top 30 are sometimes more risky for us to make as a choice, and I still use assistance through coinmarketcap in terms of token and coin choices.

Nowadays most people find it hard buying new altcoins and even when they do they will be attentive and ready to sell that is if in IEO, once trading starts. This is because most times, some altcoins after IEO struggles to maintain a good price, hence the reason why holding some altcoins nowadays is not encouraging. Nevertheless, one of the things I look into before buying any new altcoin is the team, because their behaviour, experiences etc shows if the altcoin will be good for holding or not. The type of team will determine or show if they can workout their ideas and constantly improve it or not.

That's the best thing everyone should do before investing even one buck! Different people have different ways to research a project, some people buy random altcoin and some people buy Ethereum, BNB and other top coins! But if someone looks at the project's development, community growth and CEO works and updates, then he will find the best investment-worthy coin definitely! Personally, I just sold my BNB, and planning to buy Link, Atom or even ALG coins.

I don't know projects that have a bright future but I know good coins for long-term investments like BTC,ETH, EOS, LTC & BNB. You can invest with it and make sure you are always ready with every decision you have made as well as the risks.
Having a long term investment is pretty good. Holding your currency for about 1+ year is already considered to be long term. But when we talk about cryptocurrency, it is very hard to establish some benchmarks. Many people depend on how their cryptocurrency will take its place existing and gain market capitalization.
Here are some long term cryptocurrency in where you may invest:
Bitcoin BTC
Ethereum [ETH]
Binance Coin [BNB]
Stellar [XLM]
Ripple [XRP]
NEM [XEM]
Litecoin [LTC]
Komodo [KMD]

Actually even investing in bitcoin belongs to the high risk category already.

I'd like to give a little example, you invested when bitcoin was $19k because you think it will continue to grow due to the hype in the space that time, and you believe it's less risky to invest in bitcoin, but then after the hype it dump to below $4,000, so you cannot call bitcoin is a low risk investment.

same with altcoins as well, even the best altcoins in market do suffer, and all the coins you've mentioned was no exception.

Looking for new project will always need research. It will not enough if we are just choosing a project just from team and transparancy.  Lot of factor/point need to follow when you are doing research. Socmed activity, forum activity, itcan be a lfactore we can consider, but knowledge about good project is very important to make sure we are safe to invest

I would definitely buy ETH, XMR, OMG, ZIL ... and also a little ADA, because if the creator keeps his promise, this coin will give a lot of X.
ETH, XMR and OMG are still a good choice while the remain two coins seems not to have some wave makng potential. However, I will advise you not to choose coin base on the promised made by the project owner cause it may make you detest the coin or make huge lost in the future instead choose coin base on there historical data, utility, concept, community support level and liquidity.

Apart from top coins in coinmarketcap, a majority of other coins might likely not have good future with a bigger number going to most new altcoins, this is the way I see it. But however, to invest in any coin or project, one of the most important things to have at hand or to know is the team, who are they and what have they achieved. It is from the team that everything comes from, such as exchange listing, seeking for partnerships etc, therefore their level of experience and so on will determine if the project will have a bright future or not. Coins like BTC, ETH, BNB, ADA, XLM are good and have bright futures.

the bitcoin recent bull run is as a result of the bitcoin halving. price has ben stable a while but we can trace back to 7000 to 6500 after the bitcoin halving . that is the period to invest in altcoins because price will raise and people might prefer altcoins than bitcoin. the halving has little or no efffect on altcoin price. ALSO altcoins might deep further now. it is required to wait after the halving to invest on altcoins.

I analyze the market, follow the news background, and also read websites about cryptocurrencies. I also recommend reading reviews on sites like this site https://cryptogeek.info/. But you don’t need to be limited to only one resource, look for several alternative sites and compare reviews, as people's opinions can be different and you should be able to filter them.

Scam projects always appear in the crypto market but the top 200 are all good projects in my opinion because to get this ranking, many investors have chosen to hold in the long term.

For me, top 500 are risky projects and certainly can make you more frustrated, so the investment needs to consider carefully. Of course you have the right to decide because sometimes there are some shitcoins that rise unexpectedly and make a lot of rich investors overnight.

Many projects have fake volume and price to go up to the top 200 coinmarketcap. Be careful when investing in those altcoins, their prices can collapse at any time and make you lose. It is better to narrow down and look for altcoins in the top 50 coinmarketcap

As its hard to find out which alt is actually profitable to invest, but if you check last some weeks trading history and price chart of any alt, hope you can find out which alt is suitable to invest. Also you can check their regular updates from social platforms and team activity, how are they going to maintain their tokens price and are they following their roadmap properly.

road map and whitepapaer are very important to choose a crypto currency project, especially if the roadmap is not going according to plan it is certain that the project is not good, that's the reason I chose the project

When you buy a coin from the marketplace, you need to know a lot about the project, how good it is at cryptocurrency and the mission vision of the project. There are many projects those projects did not go well. So we need to know about the projects before we buy good coins. I think it is very important for every cryptocurrency.

This is a good question but the best answer to it is Research. Before you buy a coin always do your research by checking the project social media to ensure team and up and doing, also check the project on coinmarketcap that if it's there to know the performance and grade. If you do not see anything positive please search for more positive coins to buy to avoid having issues in the end.

I consider so many factors and features before going in for any altcoin but on the general have a thing for mid-cap coins that have a potential use case to be adopted by masses in future. Also, look out for projects with actively working products in this industry that makes their coin more liquid on exchanges.

There are more choices than ever when it comes to cryptocurrencies to invest your hard earned money in. There are coins, tokens, and blockchain projects as far as the eye can see. So choosing which projects to invest in can be a daunting one. Taking a look at a few key points to consider when you’re looking for a new project to invest in. consider the project white critically because sometimes they are doctored, The team, The Manager. and observe every necessary step of both team and manager. you can further consider

Does it have a good business model?
Does it need its own coin or token?
how are tokens allocated?

In fact, most investors have made a lot of profit from the top coins so this is a good choice for you. However, you need to consider the current situation of the market to make the right decision when investing.

The first coin I can say that has the best or bright future is Bitcoin and no coin drags it with it, but since it's about altcoins then here is my picks; Ethereum, Binance, ADA, Stellar, Litecoin and Dash. I hardly look into new coins, when I do and buy, I don't hold for long because majority of them tends to disappoint. However, what i look at when deciding the altcoin to buy is the use case that follows it and if the team have the knowledge, experience and skills to see it come into action and not only that but also ensuring its constant improvements and upgrades.

Till now crypto market huge volatile, few days ago we saw btc dump from 9000 - 3000 dollar. Bitcoin is the mother currency of all crypto so where btc can dump almost 3-4 thousands dollar in a day there we can't predict about altcoin price.
But when i decide to buy altcoin than i try to choose Between  top 30 coin, if i want to buy without top 30 than i try to those coin which behind a good team and the project have huge support from the crypto communit.

I like your last sentence, when doing research on which coin to buy, i pay great attention on team. Is the team credible enough? Do they have experience? Are there good project backings? How well can we trust the team? Do they have genuine profiles? Questions like this guide me in my research. How i focus more on team is because, even if the project has hype maybe due to massive paid promotions by influencers or very promising whitepaper/roadmap, without a good team it's going no where.

Good projects are old, successful projects that have already made a reputation for themselves and feedback from the community. New projects - you need to be able to recognize the prospects and opportunities, such projects involve greater risks.

I think before buying any coin he should make a decision based on the current status of the project, future plans, skills of the project team. However, it is easier to choose from the coins at the top of the list of CoinMarketCap. But you have to invest considering that there are risks in cryptocurrency.

Yes, and old projects are on average good, although not all are good, some are dead, but usually old projects are good for investment, sometimes people also need good new projects to make them more profitable at the moment, and this is very difficult to find.

always read news regarding altcoins, you see it will help you a lot to choose what to buy and what is not , also read articles, from a legitimate source,  also here in bitcointalk , lots of people wil help you, if you will be active, altcoins  really hard to read but with a person with a lot of experience you can have ideas whats are the best coin to buy.
I think this forum is more reliable than what we can read outside the forum, you will read news outside and look for such discussion in the forum so you will read what are the opinion of the members here, for sure you will read a more honest opinion than just reading what the writers have written in a certain article.

Speaking of coins from the top 100 list, there is a good site that gives an estimate of the value of coins.  You can watch a specific point in time and understand how a coin behaves in the time interval of your choice.  Analyze and invest.  The choice is yours in which coin to invest.  Convenient site for analysis: https://cryptobubbles.net/

I usually choose to buy altcoins in a very simple way.
- Read the Whitepaper to see the formation process, core values , and future goals.
- Check the supply and price of coins on the market, I often pay attention to the coins with at least 80% of the amount in circulation in the market.
- And finally, check the transaction volume.

the first is the project product, the development of coin prices, how active the developer is in auditing the project, how much coin supply is sold in the market, the team always contributes to their group channel and arranges financial management for several other crypto investments or doesn't just focus on investing 1 coin .

Agree, the conditions will be different when choosing altcoin that has been traded on exchangers. Altcoin which is still in the ICO stage is still doubtful because it does not have products and projects are still in the roadmap, so the risk will be greater than altcoin that has been listed on the market

yup! i also have the same thoughts as you.
i don't want to choose and buy altcoin which is still in the ICO stage.
i prefer altcoin which has been in the market for a long time, the risk is not too great.

altcoin which is still in the ICO stage is very difficult to predict and we have no guarantee that ICO coins will last long in the market if we hold it.
i don't want to make my investment a charity event for project developers.  ;D ;D

It is very difficult to choose any altocoins these days because there are so many coming every day. It is very important to choose altocoins which has in market from long time and their team looking very serious about their project.you can put your money in that types of projects. Not put money in every ico or ieo altocoins it might gets you losses. Choose altocoins which has some good coming up news or any listing in exchange program. You have to do these types of searches before putting money in.

I am someone who did a lot of mistakes while investing in the altcoins. Most of the investments that I made was in 2017 and 2018. I was new to cryptocurrency, and probably as a result I trusted the tall claims from some of these shitty projects. I spend a lot of money in accumulating shitcoins such as BSD, Denarius and BTX. Lost most of my investment and pulled out by mid-2018. That said, some of my other investments were profitable (especially ETH, BCH, BSV.etc).

There are lot of good altcoin out there for investment. If i want to choose couple of them then i will go with ETH, BNB, NEO and XLM. There are lots of update coming for ETH. This platform already declare that huge upgrade is coming very soon and those update will be bring reputation for ETH. BNB is doing great from last years and there is no doubt this exchange coin will be more huge in upcoming years. Last two altcoins are really great to investment and if you see their chart you'll see they are not bump since very long time. So some new update from team will be increase NEO and XLM hugely.

Based on my opinion, if we talk about what kind of money we should buy and keep, we first learn about the progress of the project and the community. Because, people's views are different. we certainly have our own choice and so are you. If you want to invest in ICO or IEO projects, my advice is to choose projects that have new improvements in the public.

Development and liquidity to me  is very important, you can easily get out anytime you want to even at a loss, I'm ok at a loss it's part of investing but getting your coins stuck because of lack of liquidity is the worst thing that can happen to you, you will live all your life watching when you can liquidate your coins, until you find out it's hopeless to hope anymore.

I will choose a coin that have transparent information about coin such as team info, coin specification, premine, and the purpose of the coin.
From that, i know whether the coin is just a scam coin or real coin.

Exactly! But my advice is not about choosing recent tokens lol ;D. @OP ~ If you really want to invest in alts then go to CMC and consider few coins enlisted after XRP. Because why risking your money in a new with uncertain future when there is already a strongly established one in the first place. I hope you see my point, invest wisely.

So instead of investing on such tokens, why don't go with Stellar, Monero, IOTA etc. ;).

To choose the right altcoin to buy, it is always advisable to do an extensive research on the market. Read the fundamentals and concept of the coin and ascertain the use case. Is the use case in demand which will raise the demand of the coin? An answer to this must give a strong clue how the coin will survive on the market. Also, study the team and the credentials of the team members. This tells how professional the project will be carried on.

It is cheap, has a reasonable supply and has a low marketcap so prices can increase many times as the bull market runs. But to find the same altcoin is very difficult, most of the current good projects have huge marketcap and the price is difficult to rise.

I invested in ico 1 year ago. Then I had one tactic that very often made a profit. I searched for successful projects, studied their history and found the moment when success began. Often this is some kind of event (Access to a well-known exchange, announcement of some news ...) Then I looked for completely fresh projects with the same micro successes (Access to a well-known exchange, announcement of some news ...). Most often, projects died, but there were also successful ones that brought profit on top of losses.

Basically i don't invest in a new coin or new project. I trade on Binance, Kucoin and few top exchanges on few good coins or tokens. Before investment in new project, you have to find out whether the project is real, roadmap is actually implementing, listed on big exchanges or discussion for exchanges, team activeness and cooperation.

I always check coins in coinmarketcap new listing page. And then I check them one by one. And if I saw any potential project then I add to my waitlist. Check them time by time and if I think the project is worthy investment then I go for that. Now I am into a project called vite and their one more token called vx. I am into it at this moment. And I think they have great potential in upcoming days.

As for me, now I'm totally focused on defi projects, coz there I got good returns. Recommend u to do the same. Of course, I'm looking into tokenomics, owners credibility and tech stack

Agree. For now credibility is so important thing. I just read about xsigma exchange - looks simple and tokenomics is profitable. We'll see how it will be done in future

It is cheap, has a reasonable supply and has a low marketcap so prices can increase many times as the bull market runs. But to find the same altcoin is very difficult, most of the current good projects have huge marketcap and the price is difficult to rise.
Your criteria are too simple, there are many coins for you to choose from in the coinmarket list ex: Chronologic (DAY), Veles (VLS), etc. Marketcap is based on the above 2 factors, so you don't care about it. If you just look at them, you will potentially lose money.

Nice concept to get new projects with potential, I think getting to know about new projects is not enough, but follow up on the projects and then deciding whether to invest or not reduces risk of jumping into outright scam projects. I seldom invest in very new projects, but if I must do, I invest with little funds unless it's a project with already existing product which just introduced tokens like UNI 🦄.

More research is the best way to invest in a project or altcoin you want to buy because there are old projects and altcoins that become dead coins and there is no news this is the reason why the price does not rise or there is not a very large community to invest in an altcoins and project you do not just need to check it thoroughly even their volume in an exchanger whether it is large or small because it also shows how strong and stable their organization is in expanding and producing more achievement in their project.

Thank you in advance.

it's not simple to telling let's see first thing is technical analysis next find good projects then see what is project potential and who are team warking this project and find what is project next one is see now Market trends learn what's going on then see tokens volume and see buying and selling now you can deside witch price can buying and witch price can selling it's a best way to find then next doing

Personally i always look at the coin supply before making an investment with them, there were investment i made long ago when the coins supply where in Billions and nothing was good with the coins. Secondly, the volume of coin trade in exchnage also give me some sense of direction. With these tactics i have been safe with my investment ever since i joined the digital world investment.

To avoid such situations,i think the easy way is to choose some cryptos that market value on the top 10 of the crypto market. By the way, i doubt whether exists bright future altcoin, because according to the current situation ,my own shallow opinion is that it's just a gamble.

What you have to underline is your goal of investing for a profit, this is what you should always remember. Before you dive deeper into the world of cryptocurrency, you have to understand how cryptocurrency works, because getting money in cryptocurrency is not as easy as you might think. Do in-depth research, so you can distinguish good coins and dead coins (scam).

The way I choose Altcoins to save is by selecting the coins that are at the top of the market cap. Then I looked at the history of the price chart. If the Alts coin I choose has good graphics (it goes up more often), then choose it as an investment. Usually, I Choose ETH, LTC and XRP

The liquidity and the spread is the most important for me when it comes to trading altcoins, I will not trade altcoins that have huge spread because for me that altcoin is shitcoin where in the buyers are only few. I will just buy altcoins that have low market spread because those altcoins does have potential in the future. Be choosy on altcoins because not all of the altcoins can give you returns.

I generally discover the advancement of the venture and the network. improvement is required for a venture to take a stab at the future on the grounds that without advancement there will be no interest rolling in from the network. on the off chance that the turn of events and the network are adjusted, the undertaking will endure regardless of what occurs with the market. I likewise read their white papers on whether they have a decent undertaking that will help draw in more financial specialists.

My investment decision depends on the chart, I'm a technical analysis trader and I focusing on charts and my decision depends on the current price action. I will just make an investment on a altcoins that have good price movement. Like now I focusing on XRP but it currently drop and the current market sentiment is retracing so just be careful if you will trade today.

to be on safer side, old coin like btc, eth, bnb are the sure bet. but if you would like to choose new coins, first check for newly added coins on coinmarketcap, then do some findings on the team behind the project and what the project aims to achieve in the blockchain industry, check the total and circulating supply of the coin, exchanges where the coin is trading is very important because that is what guarantees highly liquidity.

I always study a project by doing thorough investigations aside that I will check exchanges it's trading then after it I will know if it's on rise or dipped. If it has dipped I will just buy at dip. I do not buy anything i see knowing the fact that team can exit scam and also I am always watching their social media handles. These are ways I tackle it.

the simplest way without doing any deep research to buy an altcoins is by choose the TOP altcoins my friend
but if you want to buy the low cap coins, i think you need to do a deep reseacrh, such as learn about the features, team and technology behind the project

Before choosing a project you want to join and before buying their coin you should do more research about their project to make sure it has potential and you make a big profit the best way to choose is their views roadmap and their purpose why they built it you can look at altcoins in binance and choose there altcoins to buy and hold for a long time but for me the most future project is eth because they have done staking program and this is eth 2.0 and I can say that they have been successful because they have taken the amount they should reach or fund for their project they have raised the amount of $200 Million or 524,288 ETH.

I tend to look for the team if they have a solid background and experience especially on block chain technology. Moreover if the project is solving problems like high transaction fees and slow transaction speed, these kind of projects are a good buy for long-term.

It is very hard to choose what altcoins is good to buy. We need to do a lot of work in researching and investigating what the team behind the altcoins can do to make their altcoins stand strong in the market. We need to look for some signals.

when BTC starts to reduce its dominance then we can see potential altcoins that are less affected by the downturn in the market. besides that, there are some signals from project updates such as ETH in the next month. I think some assets on the market could make a pump in the months ahead. try to pay attention to ETH, BNB, and LINK.

For OP, cryptocurrency investment is just a simple method " buy low and sell high" or take high risk then take high profits. If you are a big investor, then take top altcoins opportunities. You shouldn't take with you your big investment by new altcoins. In bullrun, the only problem is the new scam project.

It is very difficult to predict which coins will be successful when it has entered the exchange. However, there are several reasons why the price of a token will increase like a Token burn, Good news listed in strong exchange, and other good news.

I like going for projects with rare use case, if such use case is very useful the project will become a very popular project, remember that Ethereum gives birth to smart contract, Chainlink brings data Oracle, etc, this is how I choose my projects that I intended to hold for a very long period of time, believe me something new and rare are better

You mentioned very nice points. I think there is a simpler way to choose Altcoin. That is to search on CMC and Coingecko. You can choose any of the first 10 Altcoins from CMC and Coingecko's Altcoin listings. Because this list is basically Altcoin's ranking list. The good coins here are always at the top.

only cheap transaction fees that you are interested in on a project I think it's just a matter of cheap and easy transactions but a project must have a good purpose for investors and their future prices are most important for a project can be useful and used for everyone because it is very important for everyone and it can make it easier to develop at any time. At this time, investors are more interested in projects that can get big profits and high profits that are very influential for the price and selling value.

Base on my feeling, on the off chance that we talk about which coin we should purchase and hold, for me that is a muddled thing since the vast majority of individuals here are frequently suggest those coins/tokens that they will holding likewise, all things considered I accept that It would be valuable on the off chance that you will be the one to settle on a choice od which coin or token that you will hold for a long haul. However, simply pick those platform that has effectively a parcel record. base on the main 10 list on CoinmarketCap
