Sure, Ethereum is always a good idea for ivestments and if you have some free money - ETH deserve to be in your portfolio.

It is a great spot to average in but I still think that looking at the overall market condition, there is a potential for the price to go a little lower. It's best to average in rather go all in at one price.

Agree that currently Ethereum prices are near their bottom support range so good time to pick some and watch the market for any coming dips to keep adding on spikes lower.

Averaging in probably makes the most sense. Every time I think ETH has hit its bottom, BTC does it's thing, and we see ETH sink a bit lower.

As for ETH 2.0, it's going to be a somewhat long process, so it's not a sure-thing we'll see much of a rise just because the first phase is scheduled for next year. This could take a while.

Everyone thinks improved features of ETH 2.0 will be a boost for ETH, hence it's cool to keep accumulating. However, if the criteria for staking is not favorable to many, and the purported improvement in overall features doesn't come to past, our expectations will be cut short. Well, I've been gradually accumulating ETH since it's always my first choice of altcoins notwithstanding.

Not really sure if ETH 2.0 will really have an improvement that will satisfy every crypto users, but i hope ETH will really make an improvement, especially to it's price because ETH is also having a low price, that is why a lot of people started to move some of their holding in ETH because it only gives them losses.

If you want to get into Ethereum and stake your Ethereum, there's a minimum amount that you should hold to stake it. But AFAIK, there are pools that you can join and use the slightest amount that you have. I'm not sure about them so before using them, you have to analyze it first and wait for better feedbacks. And for now, I still have my ETH and I think I'll just hold it and wait until the right time comes of selling it. I'm optimistic with the possible positive impact it can share.

32ETH its what I heard as the minimum amount of ETH. There is a thread discussing about it I've read about it and that ETH will have a hybrid algo too, they will have POW and POS. He talks about sharding which is interesting, there are several projects also has this sharding feature which will help scalability and if ETH does apply it, we may really see something big that will happen to ETH.

The increase is always based on psychology, which we have seen in ETH's hardfork this year. So I do not think ETH 2.0 will be ineffective. Every chart i have drawn makes me believe that, but i see no verification of the bottom yet. On the fundamental point of view, i don't think that eth 2.0 is acting as a catalyst for a long time. So there could be something else starting it. Maybe nft market volume goes parabolic or something like that.

It the price plunges further, there is no nerd to get frightened or be afraid, because such might be seen happening, but despite that, it will still see itself surging.  It's really a great opportunity for those who might want to use the opportunity of the present low price, using investing more in it.

I know the development of Ethereum is a breakthrough to compete with other altcoins. Where improvisation of the transaction is necessary to be used by the crypto community. But not necessarily when the Ethereum 2.0 finishes making demand up and the price goes up in a bad market stock season like this. Well the price is very attractive right now, there are a lot of discussions of this ETH 2.0, that it can really bring respite to the Ethereum market. So if you are looking for long term, I think investing today at the current price of ETH is very good as the price is at a discount and then see how it goes early next year when ETH 2.0 will go live.

It's much better for you to read what will be the update in the next hardfork that will be happening in the december. there will be a lot of improvements in the ethereum protocol and various EIP already issued for that.

OP, the answer should be maybe yes and maybe no. It caused by bitcoin is not seeing its direction whether it will break another resistance or getting another dump.
As far as i know, the hardfork of ethereum is not yet giving the impact to the price of ethereum. It looks like people are still waiting for the main update (POS) that will be happening next year. You can try to buy ether partially to prepare yourself for the instant pump that will be happening with ethereum. It's much better and remembers not to bet all of your money on it and make some available as your reserved funds.

The ethereum price now is good to buy, but you should be careful because of the trend for ethereum still on the downtrend. If you want to buy it right now before the price increase, it will help you to make a profit later. With the update in the next year, I guess ethereum will have a big chance to increase higher so we should use the chance while it's there and we don't be late for the next boom. The ethereum price is not increasing too high after its down yesterday, and now the price is still at $147, and that is the price we can buy now.

I too feel Ethereum is being underrated at the moment. Ethererum has went through many technological upgrades and are better than ready to compete with other utility tokens.
The price of Ethereum has not recovered as much as bitcoin with their move to POS, the supply too would be much more sustaining.

That's a good video and Ethereum's a sure winner and if you're thinking medium to long term, it should have appreciated enough to satisfy most investors demands, but don't count on it happening immediately as Bitcoin as even bitcoin is struggling to stay afloat at the moment with all the FUD and intentional sell offs from large holders manipulating the market

I don't think bounty reward price have correlation i'm sure you think like this because most of bounty tokens are based on erc-20 which provided by ethereum. But there will be no correlation between the eth price to other erc-20 tokens price

Correct and you have a point and actually I'm not buying it either today or maybe in next days since I'm  conservative on what is happening these days and I'm aiming to get it on bargain price since maybe we can see a more deeper before a good event will come on next year. But for sure we will see those pumps on next several months since as you said people are waiting for 2.0 which is a good thing and also we have a bitcoin halving that will come and for sure it will give good reaction to ethereum and the price will grow.

I personally am very favorite with ethereum. I hope with the move to the new version. ethereum will get better and grow bigger. I have put some of my funds in ethereum and hold it for a long time. and I believe it will benefit in the future.

Until now I still chose ETH as alternative income/ payment out side Bitcoin, for help of course. ETH is the most active coin in technology and price action and that's become good sign for keep using it. I just don't like with stake program because need high fund to start and for me, that's really heavy. I hope next year ETH still the next bitcoin and my investment with it grows.

To be honest with eth price dump now. Im happy to bagged and filled my asset with cheap price of it. I would personally wait until the 2.0 upgrade before considering getting into Ethereum. Switching to proof-of-stake (POS) is going to radically shake up the Ethereum economy, and we simply don't know how the market will react to such an event. We don't even know if smart contracts can still be sustained at such a scale following the upgrade.

Also, Vitalik has a habit of overpromising and underdelivering, if he does this again, ETH could be due for another drastic dump. ETH 2.0 better be perfect to see gains, 99% chance it wont succeed.

its really easy to said. But in fact after we buy some coins , its price not increase immediately and even drop again till make us stress. Before we decided to buy ethereum or other coins we have to analize it first, is there any possibility again to drop based on technical or news analisys. It there is no , we could start buy it and hold for long time. Like yesterday before i buy binance coin , i am analize it and take worst scenario if it drop in which price it will stop and reverse.

Such development is what people are waiting for now. In hope that after eth 2.0 we're going to see another price to increase. It might be kinda hard to reach the all time high, but I think it has a very big chance to reach a great price by next year. Still, whatever it is you have to know there's always risk whether if it's the right time to get into eth or whatnot.

With the price at 0.02xx btc, ethereum still has an excellent price to buy now because ethereum has a chance to increase higher, especially if the bull market comes before the update or after the update. The price itself is not too high depending on what we will see later, so it might be useful if we buy more ethereum from now so we don't miss the right time to sell ethereum.

But ethereum has a chance to go down less than 0.02 btc if bitcoin back to go down because ethereum price will depend on bitcoin price movements. It is better to place an order buy for the price less than the market price and place the other order buy below than 0.02 btc just in case if the price is down later.

I'm always been bullish on Ethereum even on the times that people are questioning it, and now that they are shifting to Proof Of Stake, there's a lot of store for Ethereum, but I don't think they will become a serious threat to Bitcoin, I like it that they have a stronghold in the second place, they deserve to be in the second place, they have a lot of good community support and they offered a lot to the community.

Ah but that will not always be the best choice to bet. Some may think the hardfork will bring a huge update to the ethereum platform but i was seeing the different thing just like the hardfork will not give anything to the price of ethereum. As major coin and it becomes the best place to bet but not about the volatility. Litecoin hardfork has become the real proof.

   I think in long-term we can be optimistic. Both things are good in their own way. There is less and less Litecoin, and Ethereum
is becoming POS, less electricity needed, more people can stake, it can make Ethereum very desirable for new investors.

For the hacking incident happened on upbit I will be cautious to buy these days since provably it could lead for another dump since provably it can create panic to the people since for sure they will worried on the current are t state of the ethereum. But hopefully it will not affect so that we will not see any bad impression since we are almost at year 2020 and we would provably see a good things happened if there's no bad scenarios will block it's way.

I think we can't give an exact time to buy ETH. Instead, wait for the worst times of the market and divide funds to buy ETH at those times. As far as I can see, price action is always ahead of news, so news should only be used as a reference.

I don't know but, just wanted this to add, the last price of bitcoin during 2017 is just like this. If I remember it right, it's 7k something. And then it's very unbelievable that it just got up when it comes to December. 

The growth took place in large multiples, soon after bitcoin crossed the $5000. For what happened in 2017 can't be expected to take place this year. Following the growth of bitcoin there is unexpected price pumping with ethereum, followed is the growth of altcoins that were developed over ethereum smart contract platform. Considering the price of the year 2017, now we've reached the lowest mark. Which means it is right time to buy ethereum.

It can be used as a good basis but never to relies on it as things can be changed along the lines. Going from Vitalik comments on Ethereum price valuation, given this token doesn't have a capped supply will suggest to trend reversal in the entire crypto arket before anyone gets into Ethereum. My reason being Ethereum price is always quick to drop with any little shake or news affecting it.

Right now things are a bit down in price so I believe it is a good idea to buy eth and bitcoin. With ether 2.0 coming up I am sure it will create new excitement and due to the fact that you need a high amount of eth to stake I think many people will be buying eth to reach the minimum to stake. I know for sure we will see some staking pools and well as tears when the pool owners decide to exit scam.

why would they panic if they arent the ones that get hacked ? panic because they think that hackers will sell what they got? no its not easy for them to sell it instantly because right now authorities are now tracking them  tracking thier wallet if it will leave a trace and if ever there are huge activity or shady activity goin on in other exchanges people will always suspect and link it to the hackers  . this is why i dont think that this hacking can cause an imediate dump  . eth in the other hand isnt the only coin that is affected with it but eth today is still cheap and its still best buy .

I am perplexed by the recent rise in the exchange rates of Ethereum. First of all, no major news has come out from the developers. And secondly, I am yet to witness any resurrection in the ICO market (on the other hand, with every passing day the ICOs seems to be moving one step closer to the ultimate death). For ethereum anything under 500 is good entry if you are in for the longterm, just google it out or read famous crypto news outlets or crypto twitter you will see that there is consensus that Eth has changed trend now and it is on the way to new high even i have been seeing many predictions started to come up now regarding new eth highs, some experts think that new eth highs will be around 5k while some think that 8k will be reached by eth in new peak value, lets be considerate and assume that new highs will be 3k so if you enter now you can easily calculate your potential profit from eth.

For me, eth has a pretty good stable pricw now. From 240 to 260 price level its movement ia typically seen usntable here but its also accounted due to btc movement.

IMO, entry point is around 200 to 220 since its the longest price point where eth becomes stable.

Absolutely correct, back in 2018 when the coin was $80 I bought some of the coins for a long-term, after the some months, the price of Ethereum was shooter to $180 and I sold for profit. Looking at the time your post was made, it was a great time to enter eth ut now is no longer the time. Do not rush to join any pumped market whose value is not determined yet. The market value is not certain yet whether we be in a bull run or some manipulations daily to keep prices up and crash it even further.

Considering ethereum is the biggest project after bitcoin, yes. it is good time to invest long term you will make good profit, only invest in good project and just the money you can effort to loose.

I believe that even now Ethereum is one of the best cryptocurrencies worth investing in. I remember how every year the community was frightened by the collapse of ETH and its departure from the Lidra second place, but as practice shows, ETH not only could resist, but even added to the price and I think this is only the beginning. Ethereum has ever reached 100 USD in the past and that makes sense if there was someone who are feeling doubt if ethereum can break another high again. The market seems to be very volatile right now. I agree with you. The value of ETH depends a lot on the price of Bitcoinn, so it needs to be more careful before deciding to invest. I think this coin does not always rise steadily over a long period of time and can completely collapse at any time if the market returns to the bear market. For the time being I only hold USDT and will be more patient to buy cheap pennies.
