What do you think the hottest alts will be this year?

Very interested in getting strong opinions on this. 

The year's definitely off to a very strong start for alts like Dash.

I think that there are two categories of coins that will receive attention. One is coins with some institutional influence, such as Ripple, IOTA, etc. that have integrating themselves with the traditional banking system.

The other end are privacy coins. However, I would much rather invest in Monero than Dash or ZEC, which is strange because the latter of the three are the ones that are getting pumped hard right now. Certainly expect a make up bull run for XMR in the near future.

BTG recently stole attention with a 100% increase in several exchanges.
I think there are still other surprises this year, I can't predict but bitcoin will dominate before halving.

I know this is supposed to be satirical, but I think that Doge actually has a reasonable chance to fare very well during this bull market.

Doge and Mona are two of the coins that consistently see 100%+ gains during bull markets, and that has been the case for years on end. I don't know why people are obsessed with these coins but there is demand for them from a speculative point of view, and you can definitely make money off of short term trading these tokens.

But that's not to say they have long term potential. Doge hasn't had a single development for a long time, and its team is basically dead.

Hottest alt of 2020 : Dash

Not because of its privacy features, which is optional with Dash and definitely not its main use case (Dash main use case is being used globally as a fast and secure payments-focussed cryptocurrency),

BTG is not even a good coin with strong fundamental. It looks like that the BSV news just give impact to the all of bitcoin fork coins but that was just a temporary impact.


OP, you should consider a promising coin like chainlink, ether, dash, augur, especially bitcoin to put a lot of your money on it. For me it's better to search the potential that is not yet getting pumped to decrease the possibility to be trapped into the bearish market as it has less chance compared with coin that gets a pump like bitcoin fork coin.

I have also been tipping it to moon since last year. It is a coin to watch out for this year. This year could be the right time for that move, maybe after halving.

Lol interesting 😂, but I think Doge don’t belong here. The coin could last forever but the rest on the list could be put to obituaries.

IMO there are only two coins that I’m watching closely aside from BTC  its BNB and Ripple.

Maybe ethereum will make a great really and price will grow, and maybe litecoin, and maybe others small altcoins who know, i anyway hold some altcoins and token that value low amount but i wait for bull run.

Speaking of hottest altcoins for this year I'll go with Ethereum, Ripple and Binance coin. I'm currently focused on investing to those altcoins and I'm pretty sure that once the bull run started you can really gain huge profit if ever you invested to these altcoins. If you really want to know the hottest altcoins just look in the coinmarketcap and once you visit it you can see the rank of different cryptocurrencies. If you still not find the hottest altcoin here, maybe its better to make your own research about it.

Chainlink has got several developments coming up and i am very sure these are going to lead to a growth in its price. Also another altcoin worth looking into is Binance coin because i learnt they have an incoming burn coin coming up and this also reduces the supply of BNB which goes further to increase the price of bnb. Lets not forget that once bitcoin sets into a bull run pending the incoming halving these coins are going increase further in value.

It's not even million but billions and just try to to make sure which is one from them all is not a shitcoin.  :D
Doge is the only coin that is worth to look at. The rest have already gone. Maybe he was forget to mention ivanka coin or even or even melania coin as a wife of trump and someone has created a coin for her.  :D

A lot of investment options are for you during this time period but you should consider carefully before making a decision because altcoins will usually decline after a period of price increases. I think in the last few days almost all altcoins have risen very high, so it is very risky if you choose to invest during this time. Now if you want to buy cheaply, you should wait for a few more months.

Certainly, altcoin season has yet to appear and coins like DASH, BCH, BSV will be my top choices when participating in trading.

Top 10 coinmarketcap would be hot in this year. it touched low price in long time
and this time the best time to recover, as long as Bitcoin surge too

basically, altcoin only can surge when altseason happen. I even think that this year would be 'small' altseason
so yeah, altcoin would have good marketcap againts Bitcoin dominance.

I think it has something to do with pump and dump, just like BSV.

I still go with BTC and some mix of top 10 altcoins, just to be on the safe-side here.

I'm going for a few older names, and a new project:

1. TRX, long time favorite and I think the next 2 years will be their golden years.

2. IOTA, strong use case, active team, very good potential

3. BTCT (Bitcointoken), Strong start, strong team, POS with great ROI if you get in now.



Also BTR could be nice but for me more interesting to hold because of their Powerpiggy program

Top 10 coins are always very good options for long-term holdings and in recent days these coins have hit new highs.

I think if this uptrend can last for a few weeks, then  altcoin season will soon return to this market. Of course for that to happen, Bitcoin needs to reach $12,000 and all altcoins must be higher than the original price.

For OP: I think you should always take some knowledge on which coins you are betting your money. Altcoins are also good but make sure you are checking which one has potential or already have line up for something to improve this 2020 like eth transfer to blockchain such reason as that.

Many coins were at low prices before and I also have the opinion that this year will be a good year to be able to make a profit, I predict that this year bitcoin will dominate the market and slowly continue to rise and altcoin prices will slowly follow the movements of bitcoin prices, and for altcoin which I feel is good right now is BNB, ETH and Dash which in my opinion are good.

When viewed from the market yesterday to date, Dash is a very significant increase in price due to the latest update.
Besides that, the hot coin for me is NRG. By seeing the development of NRG on Twitter, they always provide something that is very useful for people. In addition, the price in the market is not too bad and a large marketcap as well. In addition, I have also made a profit from NRG several times.

In this year the majority of altcoins experienced a significant increase, this is good because altcoin has been dormant for a long time.
This can again make people eager to trade altcoin because the market will be more attractive for price changes.

Eos and XRP will become the hottest coin 2020, they have stable movement but great progress is development. We can see Eos still become primary choice to combine with game platform, if Eos can up grade their security system I believe sport and financial will platform will join. XRP has slow movement but good about built brand about XRP, it look's XRP try to become " independent coin " out side bitcoin. Those coin have powerful basic to keep growing and maybe in 2020, Eos and XRP will get better rank than 2019.

I think that every crypto investor has done research and has different predictions about which altcoin will make a big profit in 2020. altcoin that I believe in 2020 is ethereum and litecoin. if I look at price movements, these two coins always increase when bitcoin is pumping and the increase is quite high. so if the bitcoin bull run at the end of this year I am optimistic that ETH and LTC will also pump high.

i would stick with focusing on atleast five altcoins, more specifically XRP (for its high chance of pumping this year), XMR (as its recent perfornance on the market is good), ETH ( as it was somehow stable for the past months), DOGECoin (You all know its a good one today), and DASH (as it was used for certain innovating systems). Those seems to be hot for me but its a personal choice whom I've trust for a long time.

For me it's all about every single forks from top coins like bitcoin and litecoin, i think im going to reshape my portfolio and pick out some not so interesting coins, now i have these on my mind.

3. Bitcoin cash
4. Litecoin cash

It probably bitcoin SV, it's movement at this early of the year quite interesting. Many people said it was a fake pump by craig and his team but i'm sure there are something special about this coin and it will be growing in the future, but it won't surpass btc

And I can't wait for the 3rd gen energy update in February, hopefully with this update bring energy prices to the moon because I'm also one of the holders who are waiting for that moment to happen.

we have already seen a big change in bitcoin. and some of the best altcoins have followed him. I believe it will be a very good thing for crypto. besides, there will come a big moment that only happens once in 4 years on bitcoin. Halving was close, so the welcome this year was very good. crypto will be very special this year.

The hottest coins have not even make their moves yet unlike few top coins most especially fork coins surging after bitcoin, I'm still holding my bags and I don't have the intention of buying those coins that surge like BSV.

I think privacy coins will be huge hit in 2020 as the war scene is increasing day by day and it looks like Iran may use cryptocurrencies and privacy coins in large scale in order to pass through the economical sanctions of US. ZEC, Dash and Monero, all showing good volume and uptrend.

First of all I would prefer Ethereum because it's the king of alts followed by litecoin, Tron and also libra coin, these alts will be really promising in 2020. I personally feel these alts will give you good return when you invest and plan for longer term at least till by the end of the year. I am planning to Invest few savings on this alts hopefully there will be a significant increase in the near days.

Ethereum and BNB will be the hottest coins ever. Ethereum is highly likely to surge following its upgradation (0.2) in 2020, it is predicted. The hottest so far is BSV, we've seen it pump and make a new ATH this week.

So, if you bought BSV last year when its price dip to sub $80, you already made 400% profit selling when it pump just recently, but that is for short term because we know how controversial this coin is, and we don't want to risk our money for its future.

Hard to tell in advance but I will stick with the coins that I trust even before, it's defnitely ETH that is first in my priority and its price now are really tempting.

First BAT,  one of the few coins backed by an actual real project which is brave browser. Brave gets more popular by the day and already used by millions of users. Chances are the more popular brave becomes the higher the price of BAT will get, as advertisers buy BAT to show their ads on brave users.

Another coin I really like is native coin (n8v) which has announced some really partnerships lately, with coinme and cointiger, and has also made tv appearances!

Bitcoin was the top coins of all, and with the hottest alt foe this year my opinion was only for eth which started to gain higher last few days. That is now showing more consistency compared of the last few months of 2019.
Upon looking for several attempts of price recovery, this altcoin hasn't fall so bad and remained stable while bearish market still put our holdings into many struggles. Some says its bnb and other new coins but I am only prefered to have eth by my side.

Just filter from top altcoins instead of risking with new coins. There are numerous altcoins with great potentials like TRX,  EOS, ADA and most importantly Ethereum as ETH is affordable now so we can bet on ETH as it can give a good return on investment. We often underestimate the worth of ETH let's not do it this time.

If there are many buyers and holders from specific coin then it will receive good growth,.

You are mocking the most useless altcoins in this market, but I think in your list, Dogecoin is still a great altcoin and it is very popular. Dogecoin still has a very large volume and ranks high in this market. So I disagree with you listing Dogecoin with shitcoin together Hopefully in 2020 we will see useless ethereum tokens and weak projects die, which will make it easier for the altcoin market to rise

Yes, btc and a few of the top altcoins are definitely a good choice. Already the price has gone up to $165 and that means a 25% increase. However, a large part of the accumulated potential is still waiting. If eth 2.0 is also successfully completed this year, a large increase is likely. If the first is btc, the second should definitely be eth.

First etherum, the strongest reason is the fork etherum 2.0, and also the increase that occurred today which rose to $ 160. in my opinion etherum will be stronger and the increase will continue.

But I doubt for Bitcoin SV, I don't really like that coin. For me, it seems like it was being manipulated and if you will see the previous pump, which is so sudden, I actually keep myself out of it.

Many altcoins started pumping by 20% to 100% up, so this year gonna be rick for the altcoins. Yesterday Bitcoin Gold pumped incredibly, Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV pumping is the hot topic in crypto, another legendary coin Dash keeps increasing when the other coins are slightly down at this moment! NEO has a chance to jump up! So, there are many altcoins which will have bull run this year! In my view, ETH, BCH, ATOM, LINK, XMR, DASH, HT, DASH, NPXS, XTZ and some others!

Many new coins are coming out now and I see that they will have a hard time raising prices. So the chances are even greater that we will see reputable coins rise in price especially Ethereum and Ripple.

Cryptomarket are getting larger. Many investors are looking for the best coins to invest so as mentioned BTC ETH are both good but I will recommend also the Aci coin which can give you also good investment because this coins has a good possibilities for the future investment.

Many altcoins were having attentions not just because bitcoin price is increasing too. I think being in a new year is also gives hopes to other traders and investors to be active again investing in a positive way. I actually have courage to invest again in XMR and Dash this month which usually I only focus in BTC eth and XRP.

I doubt all these coins you listed are well recognized, you can't compares these coins on your list with coins like ethereum, chainlink, bnb token, bitcoincash, bitcoin diamond, monero, zcash, digibyte etc, you need to readjust your portfolio mate

More precisely, ETH. People currently tend to glance at ETH and the good news this year will be released by ETH 2.0, which is switching to the PoS algorithm. And I think ETH will be the hottest coin of the year if version 2.0 is released. Staking is indeed very tempting because it will attract many investors. I think this year the hottest alt is on Staking. BNB also I think there is potential, but I prefer ETH. For now, as soon as possible to build a portfolio. I'm sure every bitcoin halving will have an impact on the altseason.

Actually there would be a number of hottest coins this year if ever we expect the bull runs. We have seen the price significantly growing and it has made us believe in some of the major coins which would indeed give us some bigger profits in the coming markets. It only is necessary for you to analyze potential coins and dead coins.

If you invest in top 5 coins from the coinmarketcap and if ever the bull runs arrive than each of those 5 coins would experience higher pump which would give much higher profits. You should try not to invest in coins having lower volume because in situation of bull runs, peoples move their capital from those lower volume coins to higher volume coins which might even make the coin dead with no buy orders.

XRP is tightly acquiring banking connections, I wonder where all this will lead. It is also interesting what will happen after the release of ethereum 2.0. I can’t say anything else yet.

Hottest alt, actually i don't know much about it. I think hottest and it not means best maybe like what people will discuss, maybe still BNB, TRX, ETH, and other else which have active developer and the coin still have something that will released only in matter of time.

the hottest altcoin for the beginning of this year seems to be BCH SV. Well, everywhere people talk about this coin because it goes up to 100% within 2 days. a lot of speculation about this coin, like manipulation, or tokens that will defeat bitcoin. Well, it looks like coins will appear like this in 2020, however, those are the top coins today.

this market is increasingly attractive with several updates from big projects. of course, when the competition gets stronger there will be an increase in demand if updates made by the project are successful and accepted by the market.

By the start of this year we can say that bsv and dash are the hottest alts for now, is there a chance for this two to continue their rise, or they will drop hard after this spike? Like every year I expect this year to be full of surprises, in every possible meaning of that words. Ethereum might be the hottest of all since there will be a staking that will happen after the fork.

Actually each individual has made his/her own analysis before investing into any coin and also they have found a better entry price to invest into the coin at the perfect movement. You should try not to follow anyone's portfolio because they already have bought the coin at a better price which would never give you an chance to accumulate at that price again in the markets.

You should try to make your own analysis before buying any coin and at least you should try to understand the graphs and make purchase on the approximate prices. This would make you bear profits, but in case you select a suitable coin but at an unsuitable price than you would not have any higher chances of gaining profits.

how we are in the gold and property as like the same we need to see cryptocurrency in the market as well because in future you can find big growth for every crypto currency that to the people holding the bitcoin will be a millionaire for sure.

I dont know what is happening with DASH but coinmarketcap data shows some big increase in price about+100% of this coin. I dont promote it I just found out it recently just review it anyways and always try in your own risk.

There are almost 8000 cryptocurrencies and they are just ideas right now. one cannot valuate ideas without a proven record of profits. If you're investing in them at this stage you're providing seed investment which has the highest risk. My advice would be waiting for sometime until they become profitable businesses then valuations would be easier and your investment would be at a lesser risk. My bet however would be litecoin, ethereum, ADA, Tron, Nano and Vechain but beware there is nothing that is too low to go lower.

Dash growing up to higher price but don't forget with BSV coin how raising up more than 100%, look at the first time price with BSV and tomorrow growing up with higher price just one day, although have back with lower price now but I like with some altcoin have moving up and down every time and give chance for us to get profit with trading and investing.

I think you have some good ones there, I believe heavily in Tron since the beginning and think it will grow a lot. Also this year IOTA is very promising.

Little tip: check out BTCT, they have just started and good potential. POS and easy hosted masternodes. Will grow big after March I think!

Personallly my vote is for Eth because as soon as it switch to proof of stake, there will be massive demand from whales and institutions and even miners to buy and stake more and more eth that will reap them passive dividends, if the market support eth with bulls im optimistic that it can achieve as high as upto 100x from here but for that the transition should be smooth and all outstanding issues should be resolved.

I personally will not know what will happen in 2020, but most forum users are very optimistic that in 2020 this is a good year for the cryptoqurrency industry again. I personally also believe in that, therefore I take advantage of the current market situation to add some of the top altcoin collections in the market. for preparation in the middle of this year.

and why do you want to know  ? you should have state a reason so that we can give you a proper suggestion according to your preference because you know that every alts has thier own characteristic  . anyway , the year is just getting started and based on what i observed bsv is one of the alt that excel too much but idk if bsv is an alt or a token . tokens are still related to alts , oh well  .  aside from it , other alts increase too but bsv is the hottest with the increase of 100 percent  recently  .

Personally, I think that the most promising altcoins in 2020 are Ethereum, Litecoin. Since there are good forecasts for their growth. And in 2020 they will bring a very big result from investments.

• V Systems
• Litecoin

Sure, Polkadot hasn't launched yet, but seems a very interesting project.  Cosmos & V Systems because of the strength of their team and technology.  V Systems seems to attract quality projects.   Litecoin because it's basically Bitcoin ;).  Zcash because it still seems to be the best privacy solution running.

Anyone investing in Ethereum in this year 2020 is on for a big waste. The coin has never done any significant changes since it emerge. Its more like it is stagnant without changes.
I still think Bitcoin should be the main focus but coins like Cardona, Ripple, Stellar and Tron could have good changes.

Anything involved with decentralized finance will probably pick up in 2020.

That means we're looking at Ethereum, Waves, Augur, Decred, EOS and a handful of others.

Also, I think staking coins will pick up momentum in the next year as people start turning to less volatile assets after getting wrecked over the past couple of years (like me.)

If Ethereum switches to POS in the next year, then it could be due for one hefty bull run, since it will essentially be at the intersection of both trends.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on IMO.

it is still too early to conclude which altcoins are the hottest in 2020. Of the thousands of coins, many of them have the potential to be the hottest. maybe one of them could be Dash and ETH.
but when talking about this time, the hottest is bitcoin sv, you know that's haha :D. the market is really hot, just look at price bitcoin sv that go up and down sharply, to the point of causing bubbles hype. (hottest because it will scam)

Ethereum as usual and Tezos might do perform well too for this year. But you must not rely on people's choice of bags, you must have your own factors to choose from these coins. You will have hard time with that but it's worth it if you are the one who has set standards.

I have a list of hot altcoins, it's a top 100 on CMC. Most of them are hot for years, and some will be red-hot in the near future. Altcoins like Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP. Binance coin, Monero, and many others. We can say that here on the forum we talked about buying more of them and holding them for the future. Now this winter is hot for some coins, and I am positive about the future of the crypto market, we can expect even hotter days.

I'm never really able to get myself deeply into alts. I love my LTC, Monero and a few other smart contract types, so I always have my favorites but yeah, I got to agree about ETH too. NOT my fav coin, I even hated it for a really long time until things changed with their direction and even Vitalik seemed a lot less annoying. I am not familiar to those token as well. The risk is to much high to handle though we know that the more risk it got the more profit it will be. You cant compare a centralized coin (XRP) which the team involved are the one making profit while the investors are the prey to ETH which a community supported coin and i dont know if you're updated about the market status because the BNB coin you mentioned early is really bleeding these days.

They've got a lot of project launches coming up, and Staking 2.0 means that users earn several of their ecosystem tokens just by staking VSYS.  One of my favorite holdings.

I will not talk much about this, but I will only say about my current ownership such as BTC, EOS, Ethereum, LiteCoin and also BinanceCoin. I personally prefer the top coins in the market at least to minimize the risk of investing in cryptoqurrency.

Blocknet made almost a 100% gain recently, due to their work on decentralized oracles, and their first mover advantage on their DEX, which if it takes off, will pull a LOT of hype all over..

The choice of altcoins will come from project with high marketcap and longer year of launch for the first part of the year. They already have big community and experienced team with accrued money from bull market. They are listed on the top exchanges and coin is sparsely dispersed. Used case might not be as important considering the coin like ETC. Tezos is more in the news and could bring good profit also. we could look for exchange coin but cant say anything about anonymous coin this year.

Apollo? maybe its hottest due to its hype but this coin is considered as scam already might leave out of this shitty coins. Veil project is indeed choking now the price is very cheap. The only one I like is tron on what you mentioned. Their project seems to expand with a lots of series and more partnership. Tron might not seems to be dependable but when it comes to dApp I think it can win over eth platform in the future.
