It may have been awhile since you've heard the altcoin Cardano come up in conversation. Cardano  could be considered the conceptual love child of Ethereum and Bitcoin and it is an almost perfect mix of both. This is why Cardano could possibly outperform both Bitcoin and Ethereum.

What are your thoughts on Cardano and its potential?

Cardano is not bad at all but do not think that it will outperform bitcoin and many new blockchain will arise too, more competitions are coming, just because it combine the use case of eth and BTC don't change anything

Cardano is a true gem, it's technology beyond the time! But that doesn't mean it can compete with the Bitcoin and Ethereum. Cardano has a strong fanbase and community that's why it is in the top rank, otherwise, with that slow development, Cardano doesn't deserve the top ten rank in the crypto market. It's a good coin but I wonder why the price is too stable and never pump like other coins! Yes, I know price is not the fact, but without profit, sorry, I can't hold it for years! I hope Cardano will bring some extraordinary developments so that price can go up!

I have no doubt that Cardano might do that because this project also has a potential like Bitcoin. It is also the same as Bitcoin because of its fully open-source. While Ethereum is a single-layered smart contract but Cardano is different, it has a multilayered smart contract which is very useful and interesting when it comes to businesses to integrate the Cardano Blockchain.

Probably it can compete with Ethereum but when it comes to Bitcoin they are different. Bitcoin will work through miners but Cardano is proof of stake.

I think crypto number one namely bitcoin will never be achieved and surpass the price. maybe someday when the amount decreases and is likely to run out then the price of bitcoin will reach its maximum and stop. but I'm sure there will be those who can achieve this price but it takes a long time and may take decades to be able to do that. we know bitcoin then ethereum is the best crypto with the fastest development and after that no crypto can rival the capabilities of these two crypto in terms of users and popularity and speed in their growth.

Do we need to compete bitcoin and altcoin? What your concern here?

This kind of discussion is much already and many peoole thought that there is no coin who can compete bitcoin even it is ethereum.

If you want to compete bitcoin and altcoin form its price then yeah as many people thought there is no, bitcoin will be the one coin who will have a high price.

But if you want to compete bitcoin from its utilization and its system then there is a chance for altcoin to compete. Fast transaction proccess maybe will be the one problem for bitcoin whilst there is a lot of altcoin who can proccesed a thousand of transaction in one second.

They're all cryptocurrencies which competes each other, each and every coin claims to be the best and killer of each other.
But Cardano is a smart contract base system which directly competes ETH. Ouroboros made it more interesting so Cardano is definitely a good investment if you  can check who's in the team and what made it on top of the rank.

Cardano is a good coin, but outperform Bitcoin will be an impossible task for it. Bitcoin has too many advantages over this coin. if we talk about ETH, then this  is possible, but the probability is also very low. but investing in this project is a good idea, but don’t need to fantasize

Cardano is good but I don't see it getting better than Bitcoin and Ethereum, and based on it's performance in the market I don't see it battling the two top coins in the market, but it's one of the coins that's worth adding to anyone's portfolio so everyone should add it to their portfolio.

ADA technology is not doubt great but in competition we're looking at adoption and utility. Eth is widely known to Dapps developers and Bitcoin is a store of value it will take time for ADA to have what eth and Bitcoin has in terms of adoption.

Cardano is all good on papers and has a good fan following. I wonder what the devs are doing as there are no any significant news for it for years. It's still one of the loved coins but I haven't seen any products or tokens over it's platform. And it's not entirely a new player now.

Ethereum and Bitcoin dont compete at all.  They have different use case. Cardano is made by the main guy who supported ETC to stay as it was and not fork it into ETH. Before was also one of main Ethereum developers.  

So. Etehreum and Cardano are competing. Bitcoin and Cardano are not so as Bitcoin as Ethereum are not competing.  

Cardano is not the only coin or project that combined the power of two or more coins in a single pack but yes cardano is a very good coin that one can invest in, just don't expect things like higher volume than that of bitcoin or stronger community support like that of Bitcoin, it's not going to be possible

Nah, I don't think that Cardano can compete with Bitcoin and Ethereum. Cardano has been in the space long enough and we didn't see it taking the torch specially from ETH. Yes, it is a good project, however, both bitcoin and ethereum have some the 'trust' of the investors already and despite the current situation, it is still by far the most invested crypto.

Cardano will have its place in cryptosphere, but saying that it can compete or over throw them on top is a bit exaggeration, on my opinion.

Definitely cardano has some strong potentials to compete with BTC, there are few projects which are doing exceptionally well and cardano is one of them. Cardano made an incredibly successful entry into Crypto market as their ICO raised massive amount in the start, In 2018 it went to the moon and undoubtedly it became the rockstar I am very fond of this coin and I like this project 8)

That has been said many times about how different coins will outperform Bitcoin and even Ethereum but yet they keep topping the charts. Also, I know vividly that Cardano is one of the best altcoins but even at that, outperforming Bitcoin will be impossible, let the team keep improving on Cardano it will surely benefit all. Therefore I see it fit we invest in our desired coins because of what we believe it can do in the near future not because of someone saying it will beat Bitcoin etc.

We never know projects are making progress, look at Litecoin, it used to be the number two coin in the market, until Ethereum comes along and from then it replaced Litecoin as the second most profitable and popular coin in the market, so it's better to have Cardano in your portfolio youi never know it will land and replace any of the coins in the top 5.

Till date Bitcoin is seen as the king of the crypto space why? Because should you ask someone about cryptocurrencies the first you will hear is Bitcoin; whether the person knows enough about crypto or not, most of the times that's the answer he/she will give. This goes to show that, other coins needs to prove themselves as well.
In my own opinion, bitcoin has no competitors because none can overcome or outperform it anyway. Also, I know about Cardano, in fact it is one of the few good coins in existence but yet I wouldn't say it will outperform Bitcoin now or in the future. This also applies to Ethereum, their team is already working on improving the blockchain and it swept across the entire space, this is one of the things that matters.

Right now can be a golden opportunity to invest in lesser known coins with big potential.
For example TemTum is going to be announcing it's partnership with multiple nations to provide them with their blockchain as a backbone for their own stable national currencies.

This is the reason why Cardano is not to be considered a competitor of bitcoin. Also, just talk about popularity. Cardano is even lagging behind Eth in terms of popularity among crypto or noncrypto users. Ask a non crypto user which he is familiar with or has ever heard of -  btc, eth or ada. I guess, BTC and ETH are the top answers. ADA? I don't think so. Though ADA has good technology behind it, but they need to expand their use case in crypto market first and work on their popularity of usage.

Although i really like cardano and i am hodling ada as well still i disagree that cardano can outperform or replace btc and eth i think it is just an over statement, cardano should first come up with its complete working products and also its uses and utilities only then we can compare it with any of the similar project in the market.

It can't compete against Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a payment system backed by its widespread usability, it's name recognition, it being a base pair on most exchanges, and it's chain history.

The only thing that can compete with Bitcoin is a fork.

Cardano is good investment coin but it can not compete with bitcoin and ethereum. Those two coins are more popular than cardano. You know bitcoin is the king of all cryptos and ethereum is the king of the altcoins.

I wanted to see how many will believe that. But this is a default comparison. Cardano is like ethereum smart contract also, we can say they just copy the format, but I cant believe that you even compared it to bitcoin. It is a top coin but its too early to say they can even rival them in such aspect. Ethereum on the other hand is far more dominant in terms of scalability and usability.

I am not closing doors to potential of this project but I disagree with the thought that it can surpass those major coins that you mentioned. Sorry!

The coin that can compete with Bitcoin or Ethereum and beat these two coins haven't entered crypto space yet or should I say never born yet, and they way I'm seeing things it might never happen, both Bitcoin and Ethereum as the best support ever, hands down

No coin can compete with bitcoin, not even contemplating outperforming bitcoin. Cardano is good but still belong to an altcoin category. I really doubt if it can defeat eth in the market.

Litecoin exists as long as Bitcoin since the old day, used a lot for transfer dust or for its low fees when Bitcoin's price spike. Ethereum on the other hand with its token system and at the top of VGA mining also why Ethereum overtakes Litecoin. Bit unfair to compare those to Cardano.

To be honest, there is no altcoin that can replace bitcoin. Bitcoin is unique in this market and it will help this market grow. But for ETH, I think there are currently many altcoins that can surpass it, like TRX, XLM ... these are good altcoins and have been evolving for years.

Partly, I have no problem with cardano but if you think it's worth it to compete with bitcoin somehow; well it needs a lot of time in order to  acquire a strong momentum. Let's think of bnb and xrp for now because it seems that these two would take further increase as soon as bitcoin recovery will commence. Before it happens, we must first survive all challenges that made bitcoin struggles more often like the world crisis that we're having presently.

To overtake in terms of marketcap value, I think it could be because the total supply is greater than Bitcoin and Ethereum even though it requires a long time and also the interest of new investors. But in terms of price, I think Bitcoin will still be more expensive than Cardano because it is rooted in the hearts of investors

I'm not saying that Cardano is bad for investment, but if you look at the CMC chart or look at some of the other top altcoins, I think coins that can compete with Btc or Eth might be like BNB, EOS, LTC. well because some of these altcoins are one giant altcoin and even always have a high trading volume.
but basically every coin has characteristics and differences from one another, so it cannot be compared with one another. every coin in the cryptoqurrency market, as far as I know, competes with each other too.

of course trust and community play an important role too, considering that with a large community it can increase a large demand as well. besides that, products that are always needed by consumers can increase market capitalization, and indeed this requires no short time, especially as bitcoin seemed to master the crypto market capitalization

You're right about your submission but the true if the whole thing is, these two network you have measure with ADA are more adopted than the ADA network. More also, the long existence of Bitcoin and ethereum network can't be compare with that of ADA. Though, the future of ADA seem to be more brighter than others in this industry.

It will be best if they can at least do something with all this beautiful specifications they have, cardano has been around for some time now and even if I don't follow with it's day to day or occasional update so far I haven't heard any ground breaking news or achievement in recent times, yes we do believe cardano has a great technology but I think its about time we see meaningful progress and price increas.
No need for comparison with btc and eth, they should show their worth first.

ADA cannot beat ETH, I agree with you that ADA is a good altcoin but it cannot afford to beat ETH and surpass ETH. And I believe that no altcoins will ever surpass ETH and BTC, which will be the 2 biggest cryptocurrencies in this market.

It was really fascinating to know about Cardano (ADA). Well, based on what I have read on the article provided by the OP, it was indeed interesting that a certain Altcoin have mixed up the features both Bitcoin and Ethereum do possess. What I can say is that almost all Altcoins can do compete those two well-known and most used cryptocurrencies because every cryptocurrencies have their ow unique potential like Cardano and it was really fascinating how its technology is working with which is really interesting and has a lot more to offer. But despite of that fact being stated about Cardano, it is given that it can compete with both Bitcoin and Ethereum but it does not momentarily mean that is can already surpassed those two. Well, I can see Cardano to really have a great potential because of the specifications its technology possess which is bases from the mixed up features of the two well-known cryptocurrencies of all time. Looking forward to know more about Cardano and see how it will be doing well. It is just great that such project do exist which inhibits how technology, ideas and concepts are being upgraded to produce such fascinating project. Hoping to see more projects like this which is worthy for time and investment.
