I wanted to ask the community which you think are the emerging altcoins of 2020.
We are already halfway through the year and can we have an idea of what the revelations of 2020 were, or was it a weak year for altcoins?
in my opinion 2020 has shown that eth does not give up the second position

Cardano is probably one of the most profitable coin to go up this 2020. months ago it was just $0.04. Now, its about to rise up to $0.10 just after the bitcoin halving. But most probably the exchange native tokens are going to go up mainly because newcomers of cryptocurrency investors are going to be using the exchanges. We are seeing the rise of BNB, Huobi Token and OKB. Other exchange coins are going to follow its rise too as long as there are traders coming.

I think there has been several growths of aaltcoins especially in this year, and i think remarkably we can count on chainlink and also perhaps the harmony token.
They have made good trade volume and produced a visible use case for everyone to adopt in and out of the crypto space.

I will not be specific but i think looking at the fundamentals and technicals all good projects and their coins are nicely placed for big future growth, personally im trying to accumulate eth, neo, ada, tron, xlm and xrp there are dozens of other good ones too so pick your coins and wait for the profit time.

I'll go with the highest market cap altcoins on this year.
I'll go with Ethereum, there's a lot of upcoming updates on Ethereum especially the Ethereum 2.0, or Ethereum will become Proof Of Stake.
And on the technical part, Ethereum is still 80%+ from its all-time-high price, so there's still lot of space to grow and profits if ever we will visit again its all-time-high price.

It was not a weak year for altcoin. I suggest you take a look at the bitcoin domination chart and that will answer your question. Ethereumm is always following bitcoin and it's also having a hope to be able to replace bitcoin in the future. altcoin will be on fire.

2020 is not a good year for the world economy. Many things happened that shook the world economy and made world growth unpredictable and affected the cryptocurrency market. It's hard to predict which altcoin will be able to make good growth in 2020. I think the safest option is to choose altcoin which is in the top 10 coinmarketcap

Unfortunately, this year and period hasn't been great for altcoins and the cryptocurrency industry in general. Bitcoin dominance has also been a big stumbling block to altcoins meaning, it will take some time to actually have altcoins kicking or appreciating notably. An investment into altcoins at the moment is not advisable as your investments could turn to dust right before your eyes.... I advice everyone to stay off altcoins for now.

I don't think this year is a weak year for altcoin, because I see that there is some increase in atlcoin on the market, and eterium is also one of the altcoins which shows a better price increase than last year's prices, I'm sure this year there will be another increase after This pandemic is over.

It's not good for the world economy but that looks good for crypto. Did you see how crypto was recovering from its bottom to the price before the pandemic happened? that means crypto is much stronger than before dude and I think there was a lot of evidence to prove it.

Not sure what will happen in 2020, there are still 6 more months to come, anything can happen to exceed expectations, however, you should definitely be sure of the Altcoin you are investing in.

If, I can suggest for you, now many new Altcoins that have sprung up in this 'market' can make us confused in choosing Altcoin which is a good opportunity for investment this year 'but' for that from my experienceinvest, Before deciding to invest, I saw the least supply capacity and the least total supply compared to other Altcoins, then I considered investing.

Most likely, the less altcoin supply the opportunity for high prices, chances are, because altcoin is limited for example: 21 million coins, circulating supplies and the other altcoin supplies for example: 100 million. Coin.
So, limited supply and increased demand, the opportunity for price increases is quite promising, that's my picture of Altcoin in 2020.

I just make a conclusion that altcoin is good but it is just for a while. Moreover with many project popping up and only give short term return when we hold them for long term then we just have a lose in it.

Also, I'm not sure if alt-season will come, in fact the price of them only follow the movement price of bitcoin which is mean many investor out there make bitcoin as a benchmark which is mean there is not alt-season.

Ethereum seems good lately i suppose jsut need to wait right now, Cardano And Cosmos have good performance for the past 7 days as you can see on their graph. There are some good altcoin with good concept too like Arweave with uncensored library archive and ongoing IEO from YOU Coin (Advertising Platform). Just make sure to do some reseach before.

Cardano, Atom, Chainlink, XLM, are all good coins to watch. I bought a coin called KAI when it was shilled by a friend on a whats-app group, I was scared and bought at $0.00056 and only put just a few dollar, the coin rose to $0.0051, I took some profit and left the rest, want to see what will become of it in the future.

In my opinion, 2020 is not a good year for the world economy. So many things happen that shake the world economy and make world growth unpredictable and affect the digital currency market. This is a difficult thing to predict which altcoin will be able to make. good growth in 2020, if in my opinion the safest choice is to choose altcoin that is in the top 10 coin marketcaps.

Actually TBH alt coins are doing really good this year. Earlier whenever BTC got pumped or dumped all alts coins use to suffer but this time yes they going down but they are also quickly getting back up.

Cardano, they have one of the most active development and we may see some projects over it's platform this year.
Ethereum, with the change to POS, many of it's problems might get solve making it's rise limitless.
Tron, Another vibrant coin with limited supply and new projects on rise on it's blockchain. A real competitor to Ethereum.

I would highlight eth, neo, tron and would add xtz to these, their all-time charts will speak for themselves.
But I honestly don't understand how people do still believe in xrp - its on bear run for a year or so

half the journey has not shown all the results. however, right now we are still waiting for the recovery of the altcoin price even though I think that the recovery will start when the bitcoin price is above $ 10k. but, at this time, the recovery has been seen. we just need to be patient.

Don't forget the staking process that is near.
I am not saying it will accurately increase the value of it. But it is a possibility.

xrp is in bear but only xrp alone ? afaik other good coins are on same position too  and yes i consider xrp good not because of its value or in current state now but because xrp already prove before that it isnt just another ordinary coin   .  op said 2020 rising altcoin . xrp havent rise these days but year 2020 isnt done yet    . who knows maybe xrp can pump in the upcoming week or month     .  the coin that you include  ( xtz ) are the one that is questionable here because this coin sounds pretty new to me    .

It's not gonna be a weak year for altcoin for sure! We have seen the rise of altcoins' prices on the market for the last few days. Most traders I know  also say that in the second half of 2020 will be the time to jump in trading altcoins again. Despite the current economic situation in the world is extremely affected by the pandemic, I believe that the cryptocurrency market in general and the altcoins market, in particular, will keep raising!

To a great extent this pandemic contributed to the somewhat slow growth we have seen this year, but however it has also shown the projects whose team are hardworking and not allowing the pandemic or whatever to slow them down. About rising altcoins this year, the first I will say is Ethereum, which has been really trying to keep up to what's expected of it. Another is ADA whose team are also trying their best, and the price so far is kinda encouraging. Others are Binance coin, XLM and LTC.  I think most new projects needs to be thoroughly studied to ascertain their value.

In cryptocurrencies world lots hundreds of altocoins coming on daily basis, it will very difficult for trader to choose the right coin I think the coin who has ranked in top 100 might bring some good and steady profit for us. BNB is coin of Binance exchange. Binance has always comes with new features so there coin will be in demand all the way. I this xrp is due for a jump. It might begin very soon. So I like and think these two coin will definitely bring profit for us.

There's no doubt that ether will soon reach it's ATH price. The fact that ether is moving to Proof of Stake give's itself more space to grow.
Though we might see a little decrease in price due to the higher cap of 32ETH for staking, it will soon be the new norm as mining pools emerge which will provide ways to invest with lower amounts of ETH. So in the long run, the price of ether is most probably gonna increase and hence the price will cross it's ATH price.

So many altcoins out there that I wanted ot invest with but I set myself to hold ethereum coins for long term. Most of the top marketcap coins are all good but there is no doubt that having eth as your prime investment in altcoin will surely give you a profit on a long term investment. Why eth? Simply because they still on their early phase and we can observed a room of improvements on their platform ij the long run.

See how the price grows since then, we are not yet reaching its all time high but I believe eth can go again on that range.

Honestly, this year only for the top altcoins in this market. Only top altcoins can survive and grow with Bitcoin. I have seen a lot of new projects created this year, but most of them have died or prices collapsed many times after being listed in exchanges.

I think the altcoin will have time every year to rise, but there will be one-time for the altcoin to increase so high, and that will happen in random years without we know. But after the bitcoin halving, the chance for the altcoin to increase so high will wide open because bitcoin price will rise so high too so that can make the altcoin will have the same opportunity to increase. We don't know if this year the altcoin will have that chance, but as long as bitcoin price can slowly to grow, the altcoin will follow.

I'd like to see the altcoins like what it was early of 2018, its an unforgettable season for alts because most alts are increasing in price, wondering when can we see another situation again. Yes we are already in half of the year but there's no major event that can trigger the price to increase, however this is a good year for eth due to the launch of eth 2.0, its an event to look forward.

Some altcoins aren't even popular yet but they are so good and they bring huge profits already for example HEX which many called a shit or scam project

You should take a look at the gainers and loosers on CMC site and you will know about the truth when so many scam coins even getting pumped by the whale or i could say the whale tried to waste their money.

Im still gripping on bch and xrp though it is hard for that altcoins to really perform well, but the fact that they will also have a chance to rise like before is one of my optimistic hope. Anyway, i also hold ethereum and bnb as well and I trust these two coins to rise and become profitable this year. I know it is hard for the altcoins to go back from their trend like 2017 but who knows?

True! I have a faith that the second half of this year gonna be a time for altcoins bullish. ETH has some certain influences on another altcoins, even though its effects isn't as strong as BTC. Therefore, the launch of ETH 2.0 can be the event that trigger all other altcoins to pump, I hope! However, let's see!

I agree with your assessment of Ethereum -- for as much flak as it takes from the Bitcoin community and for as much competition there vying to take its spot, there's simply too much riding on Ethereum for it to fail.

As far as emerging altcoins go, one that caught my interest recently was WAX. Its a close of EOS that was originally geared for trading of in-game items. That aspect hasn't really materialized, but what did happen was that the Topps trading card company decided to start releasing digital versions of their cards on it, which helped it gain 40% in the last 3 weeks or so.

Its proving that at least some physical card collectors are catching on to the idea of digital collectibles and getting them interested in cryptocurrency and the blockchain in the process. I expect WAX to take off as more trading card series are released by Topps on it in the future.

There are many people who say HEX is a scam project and make many investors lose money. But when you see the recent price increase, people will definitely think about it. This project has grown many times and helped many investors to make a profit, if the bounty hunter hold token until now then they might have become rich.

Anyone bought some Altcoin between Nov and Feb should be in some good profit now. I have couple of them that bottomed out and you can still check on them yourself if they are good for investment.

In my opinion in this year I think the market will getting strong even the world is on pandemic. If this pandemic is over for sure the altcoins will rising, chances that the market will bullish.

The pandemic will not be able to end this year, the situation is still too bad and I think we will have to wait the next 1-2 years for this problem to be prevented. However, the market is still growing and not too affected, this year the top altcoins will increase in price with bitcoin.

In fact the crypto market and stock market overall are heavily affected, its just crypto fell for a month and then climbed up (for a reason).

The reason you gave could be true for some people, because not everyone has the same reason for investing even though the same goal, which is looking for profits every year, so in general what is expected by all investors is to minimize losses and get as much profit as possible on every year.

We can't really tell since we have not seen any strong push from atlcoins since the year of 2017 where all coins had their ATH. We might have seen some established still making some surging but not really that strong like in 2017 and will abruptly went back to bearish after having a short runs.

I agree that ETH will not leave second place, until now there is not any currency that can compete with ETH.
Besides, I think that altcoins will hardly grow in 2020. The world is facing epidemics and financial markets face a lot of difficulties so the amount of money invested in the cryptocurrency market will be greatly reduced.

Eth will always be number 2 I think, no other coin can gain the same attention and devotion like eth seems to have on its network. I'd like to see LINK do better this year though, and Tezos.

Recently I am seeing a lot of altcoin growth. There are even a few altcoins that have grown dozens of times in a short time. We are facing the corona virus but I think it does not affect too much this market

We can only conclude when the year is over, right now, we can only hope bitcoin will be bullish and will have its bull run so altcoins season will come but we really never know if it will happen, but we should not easily lose our hope as the history prove itself that crypto market is very unpredictable and it could be bullish in just a very short period of time and create a new ATH.

I think to hold all good exchange coins like Huobi token, BNB, OKB is the best option as these are the rising altcoins and I will focus on BNB especially as this is the only coin which also remains stable and its value increases in bearish season.

It's just the coronavirus pandemic. There is nothing wrong with the crypto industry. If anything, 2020 should be a rising and good year for the industry. Just take a look at the whole financial meltdown around the globe, yet Bitcoin and the alts are still coming up strong in price. It shows that they would've surpassed this price level were all others being right.

Well, to the second comment, experience has taught me to choose projects/tokens based on their utility and not on the ranked position on the CMC or any other site. Most times people buy tokens because of hype and not because the tokens have any use case. Some don't even know why they bought it.

This could be due to the large number of new Altcoins entering the market after 2017, so that the encouragement of Altcoin is no longer visible and even very difficult to happen, because with the large number of new Altcoins entering the market will also result in very much competition.

ETH is amazing so it's always a plus to have it. Due to the rumors and updates regarding the PoS 2.0, this is gaining momentum and you shouldn't miss that.
I have been holding my ETH with the hopes that I can get a good return after waiting for a long time in losses.

In fact, there are a lot of altcoins that have increased well during this time, but those altcoins cannot reflect the overall situation of the market.

Maybe next great altcoins are Tezos or Chainlink? I like on Chainlink the fact that they do not have almost any competitiors and they focus on real needs. Connecting the blockchain with real world through Oracles looks good, right?  ;)

I would say that so far, 2020 is turning out to be a very disappointing year for the altcoins. There are a few coins with good potential, showing some promise. But I would say that they are too few and far between. One coin that has caught my attention is Tezos. Chainlink also is doing pretty good, at least when compared to the more experienced altcoins such as Ethereum and Litecoin.

Ethereum? We are talking about the second biggest currency in the crypto marketing having a huge overhaul that has been waited for over a year now and when it happens it is going to destroy all the miners and will be staking and everyone will want to have ethereum so that they could stake and make a profit from it, just having it will make you profit.

Think about it this way, when it is proof of work you mine it, but you also sell a ton of ethereum to pay the electricity that costs you to mine it, so the price always has this pressure of selling all the time, but when you are staking, the more you stake the more you are going to earn, so the staked coins that you staked will be staying so that you stake more. It is going to be incredible and there will be a huge skyrocketing price.

I think that 2020 showed us that now the altcoin market has changed very much and most likely it will continue to change. I have started to believe in new projects much stronger than in old ones that occupied leading positions in 2018-2019.

2020 is still long, we all look forward to surprises at the end of the year. Many things are unpredictable, which is why I am more relaxed this year. This year almost all altcoins increased in price but certainly only increased in a short time before another adjustment. I don't think you should be happy because the bear market can come back anytime if you're not careful. New altcoins are often chosen by more investors, which is why these coins are often very easy to raise when there is good news.

The altcoin season will come soon, and we don't need to worry. We only need to prepare for the coming by having much amount about the coin which have the potential to increase. The coin you mention will have the potential to get big pumps again, especially ethereum and bnb, so you can buy more if the price is down deep. That is the way to add more amount so you can sell it all in once the price increase so high.

Isn't it the bullish trend that was happening in altcoin is increasing drastically than bitcoin? The next update will give a big  demand for ethereum and im sure if that will make the price of ethereum will be going back again to the $400 asap. it looks like this season is still for altcoin.

that's only for the trusted coins but the majority lf crap coins were getting dumped to the bottom as the demand has been moving to the good coins in the market. This time only the trusted altcoin will alive and get a pump while at the same time other project will die.

what makes you so sure about the rise in ethereum prices to such an expensive price? because if there is no support from the popes and investors and the conditions of the place of exchange and the current world economic conditions will only make it difficult for ethereum to do that.

some altcoins are experiencing a significant increase for 2020, and I think ETH will continue to be ranked second for this year and BNB is trying to compete with ETH, for the crypto market now also is starting to show signs of improvement even though the world is being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The price of Bitcoin has been seen to move up and began to be followed by the price of altcoin. I think this is a good trend and I agree that Ethereum is a good choice to hold for the long term

After seeing how ETH emerge back ETH 2.0 with proof of stake, I think 2020 definitely the year of ETH. If ETH did the proof of stake right then it will become a use case for hundreds of proof of stake, masternode cryptos out there. Either as a failure or a success, those cryptos will follow steps left behind by ETH. So to the point, I think the second half of 2020 will become the year of proof of stake cryptos.

for now, ETH is very difficult to beat with other altcoins because many platforms have worked together with ETH and there will also be an update of ETH 2.0 in the future, I myself am still faithful in holding ETH.

You are right, altcoins market will not drop this low if there's a lot of good projects.
The reality will always prevail and investors were really disappointed with what is happening with the altcoins market after the bull run, and I think it will be hard for them to recover, even the high volume altcoins in the market are struggling right now, so let's hope that will change in the future.

There are a lot of altcoins in the market on which I think has a potential to give good earnings in the future.
And one of the good place to choose altcoins platform is CMC known as coinmarketcap, this was a good reference
to find a good coins in crypto. Perhaps, one of the coins that are good to me such as follows like Ethereum, Vetchain,

Yes, platformally, ETH is still very much used by other Altcoins, but maintaining ETH is not only because of the platform and the development of ETH 2.0, but because there are still very many interested people and the volume of demand is always large in the market in general.

I hope this year will be heaven for Ethereum and Kickcoin. Ethereum is the most expected coin which price should be more than $400 if Bitcoin price stays $10000+. Kickex is already launched and they are implementing their roadmap timely. I hope Kick can be profitable coin for 2020.

It's not only about ethereum but it's about the whole of altcoins. If you were thinking the rising of altcoin has a strong correlation with ethereum and you may wrong about that.
Ethereum update will not give a lot of impact to the whole of the market. I think altcoin was not in a weak position. Ethereum has been showing what trend that is still happening.

Ethereum has always been my favorite option in recent years, and I am sure I will hold more in the near future as the project is still very potent. Of course, 2020 will be a year when the top coins will rise very well, but before investing you should think carefully because the crypto market is very volatile. I totally agree with the first part of your statement, ETH is and will remain in the second position in the crypto world. So far there is no currency that can compete with ETH in this regard. However, I disagree with the second part. Despite facing a global epidemic, the cryptocurrency market has not yet had much of an impact. The whole world is fighting this epidemic, I thinks that soon this black cloud will disappear and in 2020 altcoins will develop.

according to my personal observation the price of Ethereum in 2020 is starting to improve and still occupies the second position in the CMC market, and bitcoin price movements have had a good impact on other top altcoin price increases including ethereum. on the one hand, altcoin Tezoz is experiencing good price developments, I think Tezoz has a good chance in 2020.

Unfortunately things are getting a bit out of hand these days, there is really not that many ways we could approach at the altcoin market to see which one will be doing great, nowadays it is all complicated and confusing. I was ready to say a ton of coins and always said ETH will be the coin for 2020 but looking at the altcoin market I am not entirely sure if I can give just one name or could say any name at all.

Either we are going to have a huge altcoin market rise that would see all of top 10 coins going up for example (except USDT obviously) but at the same time I could see them all going down at the same time as well. Ethereum has been doing well. But have you noticed that Tether keeps going up and it's currently in the second position? I didn't even think LTO can be included in the list as a potential project. The main thing is this year so many altcoins were getting huge increase and some of them even got more than 300% increase. That's an incredible thing that didn't happen last year, this year is for altcoin.

I earn some altcoins form bounty and i have bought few good altcoins in IEOs. I haven't profits yet but i don't get pain right now because this year not end yet. Lots of people said this year good for altcoins market just some patients.

Sad but true, there is no need for hundreds of same purpose altcoins in the small crypto market. The future use case and the vision of the project are more important than everything else. The time is killing the profitability of useless projects, so there is no need to invest in trash coins. Leaving the market is better rather than investing in this type of altcoin portfolio.
