There's a lot of tips before here in the forum before investing on cryptocurrency and I can't agree that much with this one.

1. Real human doesn't guarantee that the project is legit or can succeed in the future, you still need to dig dipper and know the purpose of the project because if its just a copy paste of other project, then it will be hard for them to succeed.

2. Listing your findings can help you monitor on what projects excel on every sector. If you are serious on investing to a new project then have at least 3 choices and compare those projects and invest to those who excel.

Even if the pictures are real, chances are they are going to scam you anyways, like the infamous Bitconnect Scam. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitconnect) You can also visit Scam Accusations (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) board to really understand how these scammers works so that you will not fall for their trick.

So the best thing to do right now is not to invest or DYOR (Do Your Own Research) as there are a lot of scammers in this crypto world and shouldn't be trusted with our money.

all evidence of scam activity can be presented only after the project already scammed its investors. all other evidence is just guesswork. I have seen people who actually find real evidence before the scam, but there are very few of them.

Second, the best tip which will save investors from crypto scammers is to invest after listing or a year after the project is successful launch but for those that love to invest in initial offering they need to understand the risk in crypto investment and never invest more than they can afford to lose

Checking if team is real and legit before investing is a very good step in research, but relying entirely on this before investing is a no no. Most crypto enthusiasts already know you need to check prpduct or even MVP if the main product is not developed yet, also check project backings. Sadly enough some team members attend crypto conferences looking legit, even though they have scam intentions. Before investing, do research with several factors and not just team, that's my point.

People always talk about the negative things happening relative to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Making an investment on any of the cryptocurrencies weren't risky, when the investment is made after a thorough study about the project. People expect to make an earning without learning anything, but just out of luck or out of gradual investment. This won't get assured result.

True! Because I know several projects with real team members and yet, they still ended up running away along with the money collected. The problem is, very hard to chase these scammers as it would take someone else's resources and patience to go after them. That's the reason why many are just moving on if they lost money, because if they will seriously sue them, it would take so much resources from them. Unless, you invested millions of dollars and that you can afford to really push thru the legal process.

I do agree with you dude, the team must also able to prove themselves. Sometimes this can't be a strong point to determine whether the team can be trusted or not. It looks like we must try to take various things to be used in our research too.

Aside from that, searching for their location can actually help. Looking on it in google maps to verify if the given location is really their working place. This way, we can verify if they just grab the address that they use for their project or if it is legit. There are more other ways to prove that they are not scammer, that's why we should always do the investigation and find every information we need to confirm.

can telegram bot be categorized as a scammer? if so, yobit does that. every day I receive information from the bot about investing. I think everything related to bots, will end badly. if you really want to invest, in my opinion you just go to the market exchange and buy directly there like binance, etherdelta or forkdelta.

Scammers are everywhere. Everyone should be extra vigilant and learn not to trust immediately. Checking of legitimacy of projects and profile of users should be a priority.
Practice researching a lot, monitoring activities and be rational enough to know that crypto world is always risky.
But if done right, it is worth the risk.

Yes you are right; to invest in crypto currency requires sleepless nights; but not just sleepless nights; you always need to make the most of your sleepless nights by figuring out facts and terms for you to invest in any crypto currency project. For example; i always avoid projects with unaccessible team members.

I like the fact that the community here is proactive and helping their fellow members regarding due diligence before investing in any project. Yes, team members are really important but sometimes the people behind these projects are too clever and they are able to dodge the community so there is even more requirement of efforts from senior community members here to keep an eye on each project.

All of them will not always guarantee to get the right project because it is hard to select the right project without having the right knowledge. Even if we have the knowledge, sometimes we can miss something that can be the next point that will compare them between the fake project and real project. The one thing that you should do is only search for more and more about the project that you interest, and find out more to get the information about the project, so you can choose them or leave them.

Also it's good to ask in a group or atleast in your local section if what they thought regarding the project, if they have experienced from it or any idea if it's worth investing. The decision will depend on you still. But if you think you already do your own research and already check the team and have extra money to invest with then give it a shot. It might be worth risking, and once invested make sure to monitor it to stop loss if the price didn't go well.

Looking for real Human backing the project don't prove their legitimacy mate, though this is one  good reason to investigate  but now that even
personality is  available  in internet?there will be others  that  will find ways  to Hide their real personality.
actually in fast  i use this as material to check if the project is legit but i got  tired because still even their legit  yet  scam is in the end.

I believe to  find a good project?better  ask for  the help of  investigator  here, create  a thread asking about  specific project that you are eying and let them do the Job for you.
I believe that  you have already idea who are the people that i am talking, those good investigator in scam accusation section.

we are not safe on our own way mate, unless  you have the skills and  knowledge ,and also experience in finding them.
but for now?nothing is safe specially in ICO scamming.

Do you know most scammers are human too so I don't get why you have to emphasis on whether they're real human or not? Scam can come from anywhere even if they're by using real LinkedIn profiles or background details. They won't outcry scam you right away with their real profiles but things like "project failed" or "price too low",... That kind of stuff to make you abandoned the project and consider it as a failed investment.

Investing after the project has hit on an exchange for about a year plus, is the best thing to do. By then you'll know the real volatility of the project. Whether it worth investing or not
Nothing pains more, than seeing a project you invested with good money, in year's to come, you're losing your whole investment

The team in the new project just like a brain in the project itself. It has been running all of the operations that happened in the project. When the team was a fake team and there was no chance for the ico to be a successful project. This is also the main point that needs to be analyzed before trying to invest in the ico. the fake team will always be correlated with scam ico.

Nowadays its very easy to fake their identity thats why its a must to do an extensive research not only for the team but for their whole project. If you see an indication that it can be a scam then have doubt and think carefully. There are many scam projects existing specially the new one thus I prefer to invest in a popular coins because they already prove their uses and worth.

Some of them that were caught just go on with their lives like there is no consequences to their scam actions. The only satisfying news I heard was that of the ONE coins scammer/promoter who was killed. Two of them were murdered in Mexico which is something that shold really behappening to these guys because they have destroyed lives of the investors and so should thier lives as well.

Exchanges who are involve in doing IEO scam should also be penalized. P2pB2b actually were caught with fake team but stil ceast to operate.

Not only the team. There are so many things we have to consider before investing in crypto projects or any crypto investments.

-Identifying risks.
-Flexible management.
-Product use and potential.

Better to DYOR before investing. It's good to know how those projects we are going to invest is developing at the moment, how their progress is doing so far, etc. Not because we are reading good about that project doesn't mean we are going to invest into it right away.
Invest wisely.

You are right, we should be very careful when investing because without researching it is impossible to find out how potential the company is going to be, we should purchase the coin only when there are some developments in the market and it will help us to get more accurate answers from the company.

Video call for assurance.
Since it is the normal thing to do now, they cannot just decline that request especially if you are a buyer.

I think I have said this also a hundred times here in the altcoin section especially to the bounty hunters.
They want less risk, better do your homework to minimize the risk of joining a bad company to advertise.

You know you can do millions of hours of research and still get scammed. The point is that this is the internet and here everything is a joke unless you are the one who is running the scam. ;D

In a more professional way what I mean is, if you are investing into a legal security, like stocks, bonds, commodities then at least you have some regulatory body to back you if the thing turns out something illegal. But this is not the case with altcoins. If you want to make money put money in bitcoin and not in any altcoin.

The scammers are intelligent enough to not reveal information on the internet that can allow them to be caught, they have learnt our scam detection tactics and thus use the pseudo-anonymity provided by crypto and the internet together to run these scams and believe me they are very successful at it. ::)

If you spend so much time analyzing the project and its team, then it is easier and I think it will be even more profitable to invest in Ethereum.

Even if we spend much time analyzing the project and the teams, it doesn't guarantee us to find the right project because we don't know if they will not scam us or not in the future. Perhaps, you need to invest in the project with the money you can afford, so if something worst happens, you don't lose too big money, and you don't feel too sad. It is not easy to find the project because we know that many projects offer that seems too good to be true, so you must be careful choosing the project.

Analyzing will the project and the team will give you much information so you can determine if investing in their project can be profitable in the future. Perhaps you can try to analyze the existing project rather than select the new project because we don't know how good their progress from time to time, especially if the market is still at the bearish trend.

There is also the audit service that usually makes a report on any new promising project. If that project is legit with a good team or just some random information patched up to fool gullible investors. If you aren't sure or just suspicious, you can always make a thread on bitcointalk to ask anyone to shred light about it.

Just like asking your KYC just to prove that you are human not a robot or an animals. Well, that is very important but we can't assure that those who use their real names and Identity won't commit such scam, of course, they can.

if we would like to invest crypto, better to know more about in a certain project. Not only they have a real team member but to look how this could be more usable in the market.

Yes, background checks for every member in the project's team a the most basic way to know if a project is legit. If I find a team with a lot of members who don't have any real working experience, I won't invest in that project.
the most basic I usually see the IEO exchange for a new project. I will not play for a long time for new assets. Product and innovation are the next things I consider. for old projects, at least they have been on the market and have been developing for more than a year and running their products.
if you choose to use the IEO method then I think it is a very smart choice and a very appropriate choice because for now there is no good project anymore only from IEO you can get a good offer and will certainly benefit when you participate in IEO in place exchanges that are affected and have a good reputation.

If that project is legit with a good team or just some random information patched up to fool gullible investors. If you aren't sure or just suspicious, you can always make a thread on bitcointalk to ask anyone to shred light about it.
asking for advice on this forum is probably the best. the most important thing is that you must filter all available information. because there are so many people who are interested in topics like that. Good or fraudulent projects, threads will likely help other members assess projects from a different perspective.

Yes, background checks for every member in the project's team a the most basic way to know if a project is legit. If I find a team with a lot of members who don't have any real working experience, I won't invest in that project.
I think so but that will need to consume a lot of our time just try to take a look at the track record of the members of the team. is not it better to focus on the community and product that has already made before? It will bring us into the main point to determine whether the project is a good project to invest or not. that will consume less than the first choice to identify the project.

Other than the team's information like you said, I would try to find how they manage their social channels like telegram, discord and such. If they try to shut down or going around any person asking about the project or criticize it, then that is a red flag for me.

Most of the projects have their team members from Russia and still the projects succeed, I guess you should edit it and change it into, if the social media accounts are new or aren't related to blockchain having recent change in the style of writing.

Moreover many a times the people related to the project also are in dark that the owner is going to scam them and the owner uses their names for scamming the innocent investors and the people that are involved in marketing and development of the project.

the most basic I usually see the IEO exchange for a new project.
Don't put all your trust in any project on IEO. From my finding, there is plenty of bad IEO exchanges that only made to host scam IEO projects. From manipulating trade volume to not allow users to withdraw that particulate IEO coin,...

These are not enough. Real people? How would you verify their identity? Also, as far I know there were people who scammed others even after being public.
Here by scamming, we don't mean they run away with your money. It is more like they start showing excuses and the work doesn't get completed eventually. In the end the project dies and investors loses their money.
The best thing is to avoid all those new projects that pop up and stick to investing on regular well known coins.

to prove they're not scammer project...

1. look for the team if they're legit and real human... prove to yourself if they're human and real, not fake linkin from russia, reddit or facebook stuff...
2. list your find...

I exactly agree. Seeking for the team and prove they are real humans and not a bot or some sort of technological manipulation to lure people does not guarantee that a project is already legible and can be trusted. At times like this it really difficult to prove whether a project is safe by just looking or checking the background of the team developers because we do not really know what they are thinking inside their heads. You still in need to do thorough research regarding the project and look at every angles possible for you to convince yourself and be satisfied that what you have searched are already enough to prove it is a legit one or a scam.

Listing is an old yet helpful method to note how the project deals to success and how everything is working out. It is really good to have some sort of  choices on hand to better see good comparison between those projects and to see if into which project you must invest after seeing the results of the comparison you have in your list.

Be mentally, emotionally and physically ready when you do investment because for sure there are lots of challenges and struggles that the project will undergo which is commonly part of the process so you must keep those three equipped and healthy to carry out the challenges so you won't give up easily on the investment you will do.

Identifying the team is really hard if they are real or not because nowadays we can easily edit our face, they can faking the identity.

Scammers are also learning how to update  from how to trick possible victims, it's hard to identify and investors needs
to research more deeper in order to prevent being victimized.

I guess just try to search their name in social media like in the facebook or the twitter to know if they are real.

Not enough as this scammers knows how to deal with that, they can fake things and they are really good doing it.

this has undoubtedly been a big headache because what most of the time what happens is that the scammer can create fake profiles so that people are convinced that they are dealing with someone real when in fact they are dealing with a fake profile

1. Real human doesn't guarantee that the project is legit or can succeed in the future, you still need to dig dipper and know the purpose of the project because if its just a copy paste of other project, then it will be hard for them to succeed.

if you look at the team members and see their curriculum, you may have a sense of what direction the project can take

i agree crypto don't sleep  ;D

Maybe the team past projects and their level in the cryptocurrency market

That is right investing has a high risk, but for people who have not good knowledge about investing in cryptocurrency. l also advise the people to be stay away from investing. l think knowledge is more important than money in this world. Lack of knowledge definitely will bring harm.
a disease many people have is lazy to research but wants to get rich quickly. many people are more interested in reading profits compared to the project. Well, I have also been like that. however, if you want to invest, make sure you know all the science, concepts, and core of the project in detail, even you also need to find out about it. Well, investing won't be that easy to make people rich. sometimes it makes you fall.

then analyzing and looking at the roadmap and the project objectives established are also important. :)

Check out the quality of their social media channels, a promising project will be supported by a strong, active community. Do not trust too much on Crypto score ratings because this kind of scores can be bought for money.
Thats not a good basis. Some social media channels and sites are well designed and layout. So its hard to use that as a reference for scam or legit. I think focus on technical application like mvp working product or technical paper. Thats more easier to distinguish whether a project could be scam or legit. Check the team profile as much as possible call or try to contact them via videocall if their info is legit or not.

Proving that the team developer behind the project to be a real human does not give you any guarantee of the legitimacy of the project itself. What you must check is their identity and background. But still that won't be enough for there might be cases of identity theft and make use of other people's information to fool other people that they are a real person with real identity. Remember, scammers are also a wise man like we people who invest with crypto so basically they won't make a trap that will be obvious.

Investing in crypto does not basically just end on looking at the background of the project you wish to invest. It is also in need to have prior knowledge on how you will do investing. After knowing the legitimacy of the project you wish to invest of course engagement once you have already decided would be the next in line. In yourself, you must know how to identify which project is the best to get investment with and how you will do the investment. Though investment is taking risk since we do not certainly know how the project would end, still it would be best if you are somehow sure of the decision you have made on your investment based on your own analysis.

All these does not still guarantee a 100% investment safety. The space is just so volatile and unpredictable reason why it is good when you invest what you can afford to lose

nothing guarantees 100% investment safety. You can buy a new car at the dealership and they will also not guarantee the car will work fine. Things happen and there were cases where people bought new houses and found out the pipes are leaking and the walls are cracking.

It's great that people are beginning to demand more information from the teams because some of these teams were involved in scam projects before.

If a project has even one scammer in the team you should warn people about them and stay away yourself.

Original projects cannot always be judged by the original team. Everything is possible in crypto. It's hard to say anything until the project is scammed investors fund and gone. If you check the history, you will understand how many projects have been brought by the real team and scammed the investors. So it is risky to invest here depending on the actual team. Only a project team knows their purpose, it is up to them whether they will develop in the future.

That's good suggestions because it is very easy for some of these projects team to steal someone's or an expert's Identity from LinkedIn, so making a good research about them, and as such, asking them good and constructive questions which of course will make them prove their knowledge of the project is a good move; most times they ignore questions like that. Also, to add to your list, I believe an active social media channels is also very important, because one of the ways that potential investors will know that a project team is actually working is when they see series of good updates from the team. And lastly, an active community also is good because it shows that the community have come to understand the project hence casting their support.

If you do want to invest in any crypto related works, basically the first thing you must do is to acquire prior knowledge related into what work you wish to do and that is investing. Acquiring basic knowledge on how to do investment is the first thing any individual must do before deciding to engage on any investment. Once you have done doing that, then you can proceed on finding potential crypto that would be good for investment. This would need prior knowledge on crypto which supposedly you have acquired upon engaging into this industry.

If you want to invest on old coins, seek for the reputable ones which can be basically be easy to find out on reading in this entire forum or doing research by your own self. But if you wish to invest into new cryptocurrency, getting to know the project where the crypto comes from will be in need to identify if it is a legit or a scam one. Checking the profile of the people behind the project or the team developers are good but not all you can see can be true and it does not mean that if you identify already the good one, the project can already be assured to gain success. You must still do prior observation and research about it and analyze the data you will get and see if it will suit your preference before conducting investment.

It is hard to say if the project you have invested with would be successful or not basically if it is a new one. You need to take the risk if you really want to know the outcome. Just assure that you are equip with prior knowledge about everything you must know before doing investment.

I fully agree with the idea and with these two items because they are simple and efficient. Therefore, if people followed these two steps, there would not be so much frustration and discouragement in people due to expectations created by the moment and not by knowledge.

So seek knowledge to increase your investments avoiding frustration.

Checking that the project team is authentic without using other people's photos or editing, that is true and very important. But it is also still not enough to guarantee the project will succeed or not a scam. Also there are some projects with fake teams but they succeed.

After ensuring that the team is genuine, we must check the whitepaper, vision and mission of the project through their official website and social media. Make sure everything looks serious and professional. Also make sure the web domain is not in the short term. That is additional in my opinion.

There's a lot to know about recognizing a legitimate project or not if you just distinguish it.

The team must be transparent and all profiles that can be seen by their profession.
The whitepaper that we have to know and check with the detecter application might be able to recognize the plagiarism whitepaper.
The purpose of the project well and also sales must be considered in order to choose which ones to invest.

indeed patience is the key, also deep research is needed before we put our money in this industry
but remember always think about the risk my friend,

Research is very important, It's a fact to always check if the team is real and genuine but sometimes one might get it wrong that is why one should always minimize risk,no matter how the project looks profitable, never invest all your fund, invest what you can risk to loose in worse case scenario.
New or old projects, good research is always needed for us. It's very funny to say that we could take a little test after sending a little money on a website. Actually we all don't have enough money to do that. We have to give our valuable to take the right coins. As partnership, Team members are also valuable to new projects.

Investing in crypto is really amazing, you can earn a big amount of profit if you invest in a right coin or token with the right timing.  But be sure to have patience for not all of the tokens or coin are fast moving sometimes it takes a year before you get the right timing and maybe by that time you will get bored, patienceis really important in crypto.

indeed patience is the key, also deep research is needed before we put our money in this industry
but remember always think about the risk my friend,
as you said above crypto investments is profitable if we can choose the right coin, but the risk is higher if we comparing with the others
We should always make sure that before investing and putting our hard earned money on that coin or project, we have made a deep research already and has proved that the project is legit and that team members are already existing. Putting good analysis into the project will make it worth investing at the end of the project.

I'm sure the more projects, the smarter we will be to see project scams, the most accurate is that they have trusted developers, and in addition, real humans also sometimes make scam projects. Yes apart from that there are actually a lot of tips to see if the project is a scam, a suggestion you should explore your information more if you want to create a thread. Because there are already a number of the same threads and their threads have a lot more information than this thread.

If you want to invest in the crypto market, first review a lot about this market. Do not invest in the crypto market by listening to others. The crypto market has many branches. Review the market yourself, research it, then consider whether it is possible to invest here. The crypto market is a market that you can understand nothing by researching the market for a month or two. You have to research it for a long time then if you think that you will invest in this market then you can and if not then refrain from investing in this market.

without patience we will not see cryptocurrency market growth like current condition. people will dumping their assets and make crypto market die and not survive. we must give respect to investors that support crypto market with their patience, without it we will loss much investors with their money.
Patience is only appropriate when the market enters uptrend because it is usually a period of time when investors are more interested in investing. However, if you choose the wrong time to invest, patience is not necessary and will definitely make you feel worse. I was scared when the market suddenly dropped because I often had a lot of risks during that period and would often choose to panic sell to ensure profit.

A lot of people talk about patience but I think this is not necessary for investment and it will only suit the bull market. Look at the fact that investors are now only interested in profits and they will usually sell when they have made a profit from the coin.

The current trend is not for patience and is only suitable for coins in the top 10 of CMC. Of course, I just prefer to make a profit immediately and do not like long-term investments because it takes a lot of time for me.

I agree! Every trader has their own goal to do short-term or long-term goal! In the current market condition where there are not many coins is pumping, people can choose a coin and set their goal to earn profits in an instant way! Patience is needed but I think it's based on different people with different goals! However, as the current condition, we still can do long-term holding by holding ETH and BTC, they will bullish sooner or later!

to invest can simply means to allocate funds with motive of earning better in the future. identifying scammed project by considering whether there are human, dont think should be the basis of investing in crypto; because even though when you identify that they are human how will you know their mind and intention, no one can know other peoples mind.
to identify scammed one can just need to carry out thorough research as to the project and also consider the team act, whitepaper and others things you felt its necessary.

Yes, in any project people should always consider checking out the team and knowing who they are. Some people are fond of neglecting the team and looking much into knowing who they are, they just go through other things and once it’s too good and they believe it, then they will start to invest immediately, which is totally. And when I’m investing and I go through the team and they don’t have any social media account, then I’m staying clear from it.

If they do have a social media account, I start with their CEO, and if it’s on Twitter I will check when they created their account, the level of engagement, and every other thing that’s necessary.

I think the only way to find a legit project is to be with the community and to check the updates happening around for its development. It is for sure that the scam project's duration is shorter and they try to prove themselves within that period. Any long term vision project can be identified by attending its seminars or AMA sessions. AMA really brings us near to the team and the opportunity to know more about the project and team.

There are several key indicators to watch out for while checking the legitimacy of a cryptocurrency project. One of most obvious indicators is the website and whitepaper. I've come to realise that no legit project use a plagiarised whitepaper. There's a huge possibility that a project is false when the whitepaper was not done by them.

investing certainly has a high risk let alone we invest in the digital eye if you do not have the mentality and knowledge of crypto, do not invest because it will definitely bring harm
Well, investing won't be that easy to make people rich. sometimes it makes you fall.

most of the times people fall and the scammer made out of it with their bag

Invest directly on bitcoin and other strong altcoins. Just do not try to search for good ICO projects because more on them are scammers and it is not easy to trust the money to others. They just very good at promising but in the end if it may succeed then the expectation will not achieve and they will only go for minimum that you cannot even earn on it or most likely your money will be lost or little left when you convert it to fiat. Then they will start to create again another promise that they are doing their best and the project will prosper as time passes by until you will know that the team already abandon the project.

And of course always be ready for your lose because that is already a part of investing and real investors know that.

Looking up the team of the project and making sure they are real people and not some computer generated images or random stock photos is the most basic due diligence you can do, but it is not at all enough to avoid being scammed. There have been numerous projects with known teams that exit scammed without real life consequences (at least for now). So you definitely have to do a deeper research, not only about the team and their history, but also about the project itself.

Check out the quality of their social media channels, a promising project will be supported by a strong, active community. Do not trust too much on Crypto score ratings because this kind of scores can be bought for money.
My advice is not to believe the ICO Rating, they are paid to present the project as best they can to attract investors' attention. Do detailed research, be it the team, community, media channels, project products, or the developer's background in managing previous projects ..

For last few years the number of scam projects are growing day by day. So when you are investing it's always recommend that you do some research first. And yes checking for team members is a good option. But that's not enough. Many projects are there where they are giving real information about themselves but still scam after some time. So in my opinion many factors should nbe checked before investment. Like white paper is it copy or not, team members and their link, registration if they don't have any, roadmap, and partners. Always cross check this factors from two sides. That will help.

Don't hit year head too much, if you wish to invest in crypto, but you don't know much about it, just invest in bitcoin or ethereum! When you learn how to make a wallet, how to make transactions, search for some other top coins like monero, litecoin, dash, later expand your portfolio with other well established coins. Who wishes to risk with new projects should have some knowledge and experience in crypto, how else to research project without basic knowledge?

That is true, it is very important to prove that the team are legit and not fake probably stealing people's identity from LinkedIn to commit fraud, therefore studying adequately about the team is the first step towards investing in the crypto world as it says a lot about the entire project. In the same way, another point I would like to add is the exchange the project is listed on, that is, listing on bad exchange shows the team do not care much about their project, and therefore do not care if it dumps or not.

steps that must be taken such as checking social quality the media projects, if the project is good, it should have

You do not have to bother yourself investing in a project as soon as you notice that the team cannot be trusted. TEam is the main backer and the determinant of the success of a project. As soon as that is faulty, then the project fails.
Some have done it to the extent that they pay visits to th team of the project they want to invest in. That is because they want to be sure that they have the right people at work.

I find some project that has too many promises not meet or delay does raise some flag. It makes the project become unprofessional from the viewpoint of investors, and even if they ain't try to scam you, it won't have a good future for the coin with that kind of attitude. Sometimes, if you can't look for the right information or verify it because many reasons (language barrier, can't access some information to make the right judgment,...) then look for how they operate the project.

So checking a project or research about the project is very essential now a days. And there are many methods which you can apply to verify a project. And checking a team is very important. But if you only go with this one method I don't think that is enough. Check their website, their partners, whitpapers. And always cross check them. Collect as much information as you can. And then decide you want to invest or not.

That's the new strategy scammers has developed. A project will look more promising during the ICO stage but after that, the project will be abandoned without further informations or developments.
This is the main reason why investors are losing fate in crypto. Scam project a-times looks real
Cryptospace can't scale high with such development. Its so appalling to experience such

1. look for the team if they're legit and real human... prove to yourself if they're human and real, not fake linkin from russia, reddit or facebook stuff...
2. list your find...

Whoever wants to invest in crypto should not put his money in a project that contains a fake team who have pictures of known people, cartoon pictures, a photo modified in Photoshop, or their LinkedIn account is devoid of experience, Also, They should also have fulfilled many of the project's goals in their roadmap, Their whitepaper should be unique and not stolen from other projects.

I believe that anyone who wants to invest in cryptocurrency should choose old projects.
I have been holding coins since 2017 for projects such as XSPEC, PHORE, STORJ, EmerCoin, NIX

I am confident in them because they developed during the crisis, the teams are friendly and I see the future that they began to build a long time ago. They write code, develop, believe in the digital future!

Here is an example of an old project that all this time has been developing the now fashionable DEFI direction - Phore Synapse — The Future of DEFI ( https://medium.com/@phoreblockchain/phore-synapse-the-future-of-defi-8671e7ca5501 )

Nothing list find for investing at this time because I'm comfortable trading. I'm asleep holding some tokens because i have to be more patient until i make lots of profits. If you want to invest, you must find out how strong the project is and how you are strategizing to implement their future plans. Be careful and try to catch the project and always keep yourself calm for the investment.

If you want to invest in crypto, the first thing you need to find and verify its whitepaper. Yes, I know whitepaper doesn't important like it used to be but that still a good start to find any disparate in any new project.
New projects can easily copy the whitepaper, and you will fall into scam projects just by checking the whitepaper. It is better that you take other measures such as checking the team, product, and partner of that project ...

It's just one step, from OP we have two more steps. If you research projects just by one step that means nothing, more steps you make, deeper you go, more chances you have to spot a possible scam. Never rely on just one thing, one source, one step, try to change your perspective as you can and all possible angles, it's how you do it good and how you protect yourself.

The whitepaper plagiarism is a thing but I'm sure that any attempts of blatant copy and paste from another whitepaper can be found and enough to raise a red flag. Sure I would stay away project doing that kind of thing. There is also plenty more way to check a project as you have said.

it's so easy to fake identities because on the internet everything can be faked and make it looks legit, look at the projects that they think were legit because they thought the teams were legit with the photo and data, but it's all just fake cuz they could take the images from everywhere. But a chosen people could identify that

yes, just like what i said on the post.
even coin volumes can be fake and manipulate, people though it was real then they got trap.
like i always said binance is a fake exchange when it first started, fake volumes, cardano is fake when it first started, fake volumes, there are ton of other coins on top 100 that are fake.

analyzing the whitepaper is very important and reading it carefully and in detail and checking if the whitepaper is complete and has complementary resources as well and doing a good and correct analysis of the whole project whether it is a fake project or not.
because there have been many projects that ended in scams and all kinds of ways to convince people to get involved in them.

Well, that is the common case even before. They are using false information and identity to make fool of their investors. Most of the time, they are using a popular personality to attract more investors. That's why we should always look if this is real or not.

A good step is to do an investigation of the project team, so before investing we are obliged to know they are legit and real human.
Although this does not guarantee that we will not get scams, must be accompanied by more in-depth research on these projects.
Such as the whitepaper, roadmap and social media activities.

Besides this, you need to check if their community is active, is the code available on GitHub, if yes what is the level of activities? Is the roadmap achievable and it is really worth tokenizing?

so you think that's investors are sloppy? or stupid? I don't think so because before investing I am sure they have researched it properly because if they do not research properly the project they are participating in then the risk of losing money is very large. ok, maybe it applies to new investors but not for long-time investors in the crypto world. scam projects cannot be avoided even if have done the research properly.

In short, there are many factors to look for before we can say the project is good and not scam.

We need to dig deeper and not only look for the potential income we that might earn.

There are still legit project existing we just need to exert an effort to find it.

I cannot totally grasp what you are pointing out. Before investing it is your duty to diligently make research and look at the legitimacy of the project and the team. It's your money, it's your responsibility. Do not trust any review sites sites since most of them is paid, you can use them as a reference but do not use them as guidance.

Crypto investment is full of risk, and it's difficult to determine which is legitimate or scam and which will fail or succeed.

LinkedIn isn't a reliable source to find details if someone is real or not, desperate scammers can create many fake LinkedIn accounts this year and start using next year or two to make people who are curious be satisfied, i would rather go with the popularity of the team, there must be some past companies or projects the team works for before creating their own project, this is the way

Good advice mate, always invest what you can afford to lose just in case because anything can happen at any time, crypto projects are unpredictable, the ones that looks bad or not good enough can bring the best profits sometimes, do your own research and make good decisions.

yes, actually there are many things that must be considered before investing, especially if this is an investment in the crypto industry. Doing thorough research on project and team credentials is a must. The next thing is to find out if the coins they represent are listed or will be listed. if not, then simply take part in BTC / ETH. What you must check is their identity and background. But still that won't be enough for there might be cases of identity theft and make use of other people's information to fool other people that they are a real person with real identity. Remember, scammers are also a wise man like we people who invest with crypto so basically they won't make a trap that will be obvious.
