What other projects are you guys interested in? If they are reputable ill add them.

DeFi hype is already over. Now people are taking more attention to legit crypto coins which are supported by PayPal.
as like Eth, LTC, BCH, beside to Bitcoin.

I have no reason to invest in uniswap, it's just a decentralized exchange and that's that. I like Oracle DeFi projects like ChainLink because they are more useful, any DeFi project you want to get into make sure their use case if very useful thus creating more adoptions for the masses

Yes these were top projects for 2020 but you should realize that 2020 is almost over so you should have posted about some new high potential projects because everyone knows about these projects. I think Radix dlt will be big project in this niche next year.

You have indicated projects that have already taken place, which are now being improved, it would be interesting to see a list of projects that are gaining popularity.
For example, one of the most popular and in my opinion with an interesting concept is Jointer.

The list is good but I think you narrow your pick to Ethereum alone, if you are writing about best DEFI projects on Ethereum good but what about Serum. I think Serum is the best DEFI project launched this year and looking at the rate of their development slow but progress it will eat deep into Ethereum DEFI base market share

Uniswap has proven to be a real game changer but the hype and fomo did hurt it a bit, im talking about insane volumes that drove transaction fee to as high as $100 which was like unreal to me. Also many fake defi projects took advantage of such hype by scamming and rug pulling.
I hope from now on uniswap will see slow, steady but real and natural growth which will be really good for the community.

Poolz seems to be the next big DeFi. I have been following the development and I cannot wait to see how massive the project is going to become. The team is very hard working and they have constantly update the community about the development. YFI was a massive DeFi which I do not think any project can match the success they have achieved. Presently the YFI hype is over especially when a YFII was introduced.

Though Defi hype may be faded, defi are here to stay. They provide a solution to a great lot of problems concerned with central entity. But with the rise in popularity, they are also becoming a popular target for hackers and exploiters to siphon out and steal coins from the smart contract or users. Defi's should be very sensitive in such maters and test everyway the codes and be sure it doesn't contains any loopholes before releasing it to the platform.
You have listed almost all of the best Defis but other popular ones and hot at the moment are Aave and Sushiswap.

Top 6 Defi projects to watch out in 2020? but forgive me, 2020 is already coming to an end and also from the look of things, DeFi hype is almost vanishing, so what will be the fate of most of these coins after the hype drops? Although, I agree that there are good DeFi projects but I don't think it is a nice idea having them in mind, the reason is this, many of Defi projects grew because of hype and when the hype is over, then the legit ones will be known and the top Defi projects will be known as well, so till then let's keep our fingers crossed. Lastly, most people are already looking for new trend which also means they are most likely tired of Defi.

After the DeFi trend occurred, Uniswap became a lot of choices from the inclusion of a list of successful tokens there with a large enough volume even every DeFi would certainly list the name of the Uniswap exchange as a successful one, especially yesterday that gave a large enough airdrop and their tokens were able to survive above this meaning to be DeFi's most top and successful project with what they are currently developing.
The Uniswap capitalists are large enough that others will choose this exchange to create hype.

interestingly enough, Ethereum 2.0 launch is now threatened by DeFi, due to large amounts of ETH locked in DeFi, because of better revenues than what Ethereum 2.0 promised, and as well possibility to get your ETH back, since ETH2.0 will be locked for at least 1,5 years, until phase 1.5 of ETH2.0 launch

Hype about DeFi projects is over, but there is still 11 billion locked in DeFi, so i would not count it out as promising prospect

I don't think theses projects are so profitable. In my personal thought, we should avoid such kind of defi project because it is nothing but hype. We are in the last quarter of this year and we should focus on legit CryptoCurrency.

The era of DeFi is already running out. It's obvious that any coin can be listed and start trade on uniswap by just adding contract address. It's a decentralized exchange and many haven't realized this, mostly the airdroppers.

Attention have now been shifted on back to coins with potentials and usecase. I'm not saying any of those you listed is useless. Just the hype is annoying.

The mentioned DeFi projects has performed greatly as an outstanding assets, however, I believe that's the writer opinion. If you check the market cap or DeFi market, we have some projects that has outperformed them in term of ROI and Apy staking they provide yearly.
The above projects have also lost about 49% - 50% of their value from all time high, so I dnt see anything special about them but hype.
If I'm to keep defi project for long time I will stick to top DeFi Oracles such as:

• Chainlink, they started the hype.
• DIA
• Band
• polkadot

yfi? I don't think it's just a bunch of hype keeping the coin price steady. Why would you look for a new one if there was already a coin that was around long before the hype defi even started. call it a link, maker, and others.

Bitcoin is like gold to me. It's good to have some, but protocol is a bit outdated imho.

Among the list of DeFi projects above, in my opinion the most prospective one is Uniswap. With the increasing transaction value, I think Uniswap is a Dex exchanger which makes it easy for another project to list and so far, UNI's price performance is quite good.

for me  LINK,DIA,DEGO,DOT are one of the top defi project in 2020. if you see the LINK price in last december then you can see price was around of 1/2$ but LINK almost touched 20$ last month & now LINK is the top 10 coin in the crypto world. so it is very hot defi currency, propably this is the best. so many defi  project have which is have a good support but at the same time many scammer try to take advantage of defi, so dont invest any fake defi project. good luck

I prefer DeFi coins which have big market cap like Chainlink, Uniswap, Maker DAO, etc,
market capitalization is very important to keep prices stable,

After reading this article, I got the opinion that the article was written only for writing something.

There are many sites with ratings of defi projects

But if we look at the prices of tokens or coins of the main projects, then we see that prices are falling

This tells us that we need to be very careful with investments in these projects.

I understand that defi world is doing much better than anyone ever anticipated and that is why people keep trying to find the next new defi, but that is not the way to get rich in the crypto world. If you want to continue with this method I can't stop you, but do not look at things just because they have a feature, anything could be a great return on your investment as long as it is done correctly and anything could be a horrible scam even if it looks like it has everything a popular project could want.

There could be some ICO done like the old days, or even an airdrop without any fund raising, and still could be great as long as they achieve what they set out to achieve, it may take longer but they could still be great, or it could be the most advanced looking incredible defi ever and still could turn out to be a scam.

I haven't used Curve but alot of people seem to really like it. One of the top projects for sure.

Oh god, you didn't even know if those are major projects. Even if you are staking your stable coin that will not be affected by the volatility and you can also still earn passive income from your staking coins.

These projects are very profitable and those who have bought this at the ico price have become millionaires.
You should try to do your own research. Crypto users know these projects so well.

Why can't you think about it?
as we all look to blockchain decentralized finance. Agree with you that there is overwhelming power here from projects, but since it has been profitable for investors, I think it has partly brought success. Soon after the big news from paypal, I think defi ideas from the blockchain market may be approached more. You can look at that in the future together :)

Those project are already established as a good token in defi world. There are many scam defi project was in market which lose investor asset.
This table are best I think.

Of course, everyone decides by himself which project to invest in, for example, from the very beginning I have been following DEGO and I think that this project has an incredible future and therefore I invested a lot of money in this project and I am waiting for this project to show itself completely and then I will fix good profit.

Many DeFi projects are just forks without any audits and end up losing funds.




It's important to DYOR.

There is certainly still hype for these projects, but yeah I think the majority is slowing down a little bit. We will see these Defi projects as a stepping stone for future projects that actually work.

Yeah it is. Actually the list are all good, among the list on the OP, I think uniswap has more room for growth. Since their platform has been used always, we can see that uni tokens can be of great used as governance tokens to develop more request and proposal on the network. I like the idea that they made governance tokens cause it can build a good relationship among all uniswap traders.

I agree with you a little, DeFi HYPE has started to dim...
when Bitcoin bulls like it are happening right now I see DeFi tokens barely moving at all. It is much better to invest in Bch, Ltc, monero, and dash which are likely bullish in the next few days.

Nice list, i'll stick on Yearn and curve. i liked both DeFi projects. only about 2 weeks ago the curve has just reached ATH, and I think there are many more to come with curves and also yearn finance, maybe for alternative uniswap is also quite good

I think these are the most popular, but I do see DeFi changing drastically. So maybe there will be new coins in the future in this space.



Don't get me wrong. 99% of DeFi projects are scams, but I think decentralized finance could pivot and become something that can change the financial industry eventually. I don't think we've seen it all in DeFi.

The ones we thought are legit projects could also turn into a scam. We have yet not know when their developers are going to snap but while we are already investing in the projects, we might as well strike while the iron is hot.

Among the list, its Yearn Finance that I don't trust. Probably because I just wake up and it's already more than the price of what anyone will expect. I wonder why you are not listing the AAVE formerly LEND that started with the minimum price of less than a cent.

We cant say its over cause of the price movement in the year was parabolic already in the unbelievable short time, If it did it before and it can do it again but maybe not all of them. 95% dump is huge in similar short period and some may be the type of correction we dont expect, all what might cause the FOMO is the recovery of 95% in short while then it we forget the antecedent. The fear will still be exit scam and hack for fund held with them

I'm interested in seeing where the future of the technology is headed. A lot of the projects are scams though, just like in the ICO phase.

as happened in many ICO projects. when there are a lot of scammers then they will be forgotten and when there is a new system that can attract investors and is considered better, then all will make a new trend.

I am excited about new version and new features of uniswap platform because uniswap is something that is very close to my own liking as i was personally looking for something like this for both instant trades as well as investment.

I do not think DeFi hype is over . If it would over then we wouldn't see too much hype on crypto like it is now. About PayPal supporting legit coins I am not sure if you have 100% over your wallet through PayPal . I do not think they allow withdrawal of crypto from their platform

2020-2021 is the year of DEFI and DEX, you should pay attention to Uniswap, Chainlink, Maker, YFI, THOU, and also YFII,
buy and hold, December may be the start of the altcoin season

Along with the increasing hype defi nowadays, many developers are starting to turn their attention to creating a new crypto projects based on DeFi, but still as traders / investors and bounty participants we must still be careful in choosing the defi project for us to follow, Because, in the crypto world anything can happen, just like any other crypto project that has ever existed, the defi project will certainly not escape the possibility of a fraud that can be done by anyone and anywhere, it's better to dig up information about the defi project details before making a decision to participate or not.

It does feel like we're entering another altcoin boom. A lot of the old ICO coins look like they will stay dormant, but I think you're right with DeFi. A lot of these DeFi coins will likely blow up, however, I'm not holding them.

What do you like most about DeFi projects?

I just think that the current DeFi market is still immature, there are still too many gaps here and there for scammers to rug pulls. I just think that dex should have a better filtering procedure, a preventive measure that is not excessive but also safe for the customer

What I like most about Defi projects right now is that they have partners with Polkadot or DAO Maker. There is a curse for projects that collaborate with one of these two big projects will definitely grow very strongly when listed on the exchange! The most typical example is Link :)
I am a project analyst and I know the situation of the current Defi projects. Polkadot and DAO Maker are two names that are making a huge impact on the Defi market at the moment and speculators love this.

I am not that active in crypto anymore. But it really amazed me when Im back with bitcointalk and learn about this uniswap and yearn finance thing. Hope to see more innovation in crypto band wagon. Hope to see more liquidity in the market.

Uniswap has been coming out with some really nice updates, and they actually reward the users which is an industry changer. Not only in crypto, but I think it will reflect into some aspects of traditional finance eventually.

Yes your right, your given tokens are the best in defi. But the hype of defi project is over. Uniswap is making a good game, with its hunder good profit the market comes to everyone's attention and all types of defi project tokens are listed there first. To create a lot of hype, everyone is trading there and receiving high fees. Many new projects are being listed without any fees. Which makes it difficult for newcomers to decide the good and the bad.

for me the best defi project in 2020 is the one that has the best price and is not crushed. because it's useless the project has great popularity but low token price.

What you mentioned is a reference from the various references that you get, but one thing, if I'm not mistaken, Decentralized Finance has not reached its breaking point, there are various small obstacles that need early handlings such as volatility, usability, regulation, and rampant fraud here and there.

These projects which you say. I hear a lot of people talk about them and care, but I like the best Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin goes up, the projects you mention will be more successful. Bitcoin is the most potential.

I like DeFi, but I don't use any of the projects currently. The interesting part is that they are building infrastructure for the future that can change the way we use finance. And if DeFi dies down, that's okay to because it will spark another crypto movement, and we will keep getting closer to getting adopted.


DeFi lending etc. can be extremely risky, so I wouldn't recommend anyone buy it unless you know what you're doing.

Any investment of money is a risk. All sorts of forecasts, predictions and so this is only speculation of such people who may have a private investment. There are top projects, there are projects that are losers. Each of us believes in the one that has his money in it. You can endlessly make top-6, top-10...

This is an interesting question but no one will tell you the real answer to this question. Most everyone in DeFi system are nothing but after the money, they chase after the money with pump and dump. You hardly see good project stand firmly by their words, little supply, lending and borrowing, copy cat of the same Uniswap without uniqueness.

Its very annoying when I come across same project with same idea that has been on the market. Its time we wake yp6frok this slumbering.

That's an interesting list you got. I can't say that I agree with all of them but there are a few I do agree with like Maker DAO. The others not so much, I think the DeFi space will be dominated by newer ones and not all staking and lending platforms which is what most of your list is.

I think Ethereum will have its wave, Polkadot will continue to surprise all of us and the Graph might be another new project to watch. Of course, these are suggestions that might clash with that of other but it would be interesting still to see what other people think the new wave of DeFi project might be.

For this year I only like Uniswap as a DeFi project that can help me in terms of getting profit, other than that I don't like it, and one more thing is the transparency of the DeFi project so I like it, although not in the long run, because I'm also not sure if DeFi will last in the long term.

You don't think decentralize finance will be around in the future? I don't think we will see the same projects in the long term, but we will see aspects of defi.

I will remove MakerDao and Curve from the list and Sushi and Aave to the list. I don't know how they come about the list but I believe  the market speaks for itself. Sushi has shown, it is here to stay and Aave have proven it can give all these big projects a run for its money and both have a very strong community

These are good projects.
But some of them stopped their campaign after 1/2 weeks like yearn finance.
But some of them were good enough.
I think bounties are getting bad and bad. The success ratio of projects are to low.

Defi hype over right now and just in few days later everyone will forget defi market. I have no good thinking about defi market right now so i am not interested for invest in defi project. Anyway if you want invest in defi project the everyone can follow op list because here is all top defi project which is still trust project.

That couldnt be true since the projects we use to just see as utility token are gradually becoming part of the defi ecosystem. Defi is here to stay and so are the governance tokens. We can just say Uniswap and the DEX that now shifted to defi will disappear.  Not gonna happen.

The ones you have mentioned are good, Uniswap has been going great and I believe it’s one of the best we have as of today. There are other ones I think you should to your list of top Defi, and the first is Ox; the purpose behind creating Ox is to speed up and as well create a top solution for ETH’s blockchain.

Apart from Ox, other good Defi that you should do some research on includes Band Protocol, Kava, Defi yield protocol, and Ren Protocol.

I believe these ones should all be on the list of top Defi projects that anyone will invest this year.

The only DeFi project that's making waves now is Polkadot, all others are coming at Polkadot back in terms of achievements and also the adoption rates, the next one still remains Chainlink, I'm also looking forward to what will happen around avalanche because I can't deny what that project have in store.

All of the DeFi projects that you mentioned at the opening are indeed very good for investment, even the 5 DeFi projects that you
mentioned have experienced an increase in prices in 2021. Maybe only Yearn Finance is not performing well, but I am sure that in
the near future Yearn Finance will also recover soon. Many people think DeFi trend is over, but I think DeFi projects this year will bounce
back. It can be seen that the performance of most of the top DeFi projects has experienced price increases. And don't forget to invest
in Chainlink, because it is my favorite DeFi project. And based on CMC site data, Chainlink is still the 1st rank DeFi project.

Hype on DEFI projects may no longer be so big, but still a large number of DEFI projects are created every day and collect not small investment fees in their projects.

Every day more and more people are entering this area of the cryptocurrency world, but the DEFI branch should not be considered something bad and that takes money away from people. It's just that newbie investors need to be extremely careful when choosing a project for investing and buying tokens.

Yes, new investors do need to be careful in choosing a project and they also still need to learn to see a project, because DeFi is still vulnerable to birth and part of the DeFi project is still deceiving many people, so this really needs to be analyzed continuously.

Likewise many phony defi projects exploited such promotion by misleading and floor covering pulling.

I don't know the exact float. next month I will say a different number. once all this FOMO shit starts happening ETH will soar like a rocket. ETH should be a good cheap currency with low fees.  if it could catch on that would help move the price up more.  eth has a high number of coins and the price is high. just hope some good news or developments can help move the price up to and the fees down to get into defi.

Exactly. They are here to stay. People make money out of them, the Defi projects still are up to become utility tokens and Uni had moon already. I'm surprise though that OP only listed 6 of them. There are more Defi projects other than the six and they are much older than some of them too like the Aave formerly LEND and there is also Jarvis token,

Synthetix has grown unexpectedly as i still remember the time when it was trading under 10 cents around couple of years ago but now it is over 15 bucks which is phenomenal performance and some new defi projects are also poised to do well in future.

There will be more decentralized finance projects that will stay on a long term but these projects must be in the category that are sincere to investors. There have been decentralized finance platforms that acted strange with investors funds, these won't make the long term projects as far as the decentralized finance is concern.  

Lots of stuff in DeFi has been exploding. I haven't personally used Synthtix but I will certainly dive more into it.

Of course Chainlink is a brilliant project but I would surely not dismiss Uniswap. Ethereum is the biggest ecosystem by far they are listing ALL Ethereum tokens which is a lot. And if other ecosystems like Polkadot or Vechain catch up who will keep them from including projects from those spaces too?? I do not hold any Uniswap but looking at the chart the last couple of days that does not seem like a very smart decision. Ok they are seeing some fightback from Binance but they are well established by now. Not very cheap or quick but super convenient.

This is quite a good list and I believe all these projects will do very long in both short terns and long terms. Already keeping some eye on them.

I would love to see how DeFi does In the next ten years. I believe some of these projects will be gone in the near future though.
