Title: How far will you go when you sent btc to a site with high fee but...
Post by: 2double0 on October 30, 2020, 12:32:54 PM
As I couldn't complete the question in the title, below it is:

How far will you go when you sent btc to a site with high fee but could not get it into the site because either the fee was low based on that time or they credit it after some confirms. Fee has become the talk of crypto nerds and everyone thinks that it is already so high. What will happen when price is high and miners increase fee, mempool is clogged and you have your favorite winning bet available right there on the table but your btc is in your wallet and you want it to reach the gambling site anyhow to bet and win? Give your valuable opinions as they matter.

So the question has many layers into it under one situation. Let me explain what I will do in that situation. It will definitely vary from person to person.

Firstly I will never calculate the network fees manually. It makes room for error so I will let my wallet decide the fee based on network load and priority. If it is done, then there should not be any issues going forward.

Usually a gambling website (or any other website) will wait for 3 confirmations before crediting the amount to your account. If I see it is taking longer than expected, I will have to wait for at least 1 confirmation. Because even support staffs can't do anything if a transaction is unconfirmed.

Once I get 1 confirmation, then I will get in touch with the support staff to credit the amount to my account as a request. Ideally, they can do it based on your previous deposit and withdrawal history. If your conduct is good, the chance is high that they will oblige to your request. But may not help in case you are using that casino for the first time!

Network feehas again started going up in accordance with the price. It's similar to what we have faced during last bull run. I believe it's high time to adopt LN for good!

The best option always checked the fee and pending transaction before doing any transaction so maybe option 1, the option 2-4 could make have some problem on your deposit progress of your account on the gambling site.

Because, when I try using RBF on "Roobet" the first TX made my account getting a problem cannot withdrawal even my RBF transaction already confirmed and they need to solved manually to remove the first transaction. That's just my one experience on "Roobet", IDK about other casinos but could be facing the same problem because some casino who have a feature instant deposit.

They will have a policy, the transaction needs to get confirmation before you can withdrawal since you are using RBF and if the first transaction still on your deposit history you can facing the same problem like me.

I haven't asked any miner to make my transaction confirmed if it's stuck in the network. Usually, I don't encounter this kind of problem and if I do, I'll just get into the transaction accelerators to make my transaction confirm. I have never done any of those paid accelerators.

But I think if it's necessary, I'll pay the fee to make my TX confirmed if the match is about to start and I have to bet. Nonetheless, I'll wait until it gets confirmed but if it's already too much of the wait, I'll take those actions that I have mentioned.

With high fee I wouldn't wait, but I rarely use high fees. I have a problem with two transactions at the moment, I sent 0.003 to one casino and 0.008 to another, with ridiculously low transaction fees, and I wait more than a day! Sometimes they get confirmed fast, but sometimes I wait longer., like now… that's not the problem, I can wait!
Sometimes I get nervous and I try to speed up the transaction using BitAccelerate, ViaBtc..sometimes it works for free, but many times not! Usually I just wait, I train my patience! :)

But may not help in case you are using that casino for the first time!

Block time remains same no matter the congestion. Blocks will still be produced approximately after every 10 minutes. So if your transaction is included in a block and you got the first confirmation, it's just a matter of approximately 20-30 more minutes to get 3 confirmations. Once two more blocks are produced above the block in which your transaction is included, your transaction gets 3 confirmations. So I don't think anyone should worry and rush to the support staff if their transaction is successfully included in a block. Waiting half an hour more is better than requesting customer support to deposit manually. :P

However, in case your transaction is stuck in a mempool and no one is picking it in a block, there isn't much you can do. You can request the website's support staff but I think it would be bad move from the casino owners if they start crediting deposits with 0 confirmations but I have seen casinos making crazier move for customer acquisition & retainment so this might work if you are loyal player on the site. But if that doesn't work, you aren't left with many options except using an altcoin. Almost all the prominent casinos support at least couple of more cryptocurrencies. You can buy those, deposit them and get on with your 'must to make' bet.

I have never bothered too much about my transactions: before sending I always make sure that the fee I am going to use allows my tx to be confirmed between 3-6 hours. After hitting send I usually wait. Personally, I have never used RBF or any tx accelerators.

Title says if you send it with a fee but what you ask here is different or it can also be on other cases ? And what does how far will you go mean ? You cannot go anywhere if you transaction was stuck but all you can do is to remain on the place where you at now , you can do sit and wait for things to settle .

I'm not a nerd but fee was my concern too . Everyone care for the fee not just the nerds because fee was still money and fees now are not small because value of btc was rising quickly . if money hasn't arrived ,don't be excited to prepare your bets because that can be disappointing if the money will be super delayed and the match ended up winning .

My probable choice is not on the options given. If I am caught in this situation, I would probably just contact one of my friends who is also crypto gambling and kindly ask him to just make a bet on my behalf. This has happened to me a number of times already.

There are times when I am busy, cannot log in, traveling, etc and there is a particular game I forgot betting on. My friends are just a call or text away. But if none of them could make it on my behalf then I'd just forget about it.

If possible, and if you really want to make a bet, physical betting with your friends or workmates could also be done in place of online crypto betting.

I've gone as far as using a transaction accelerator. There are a few free of them in the internet. But if you are even in a larger hurry, there are some legit transaction accelerator services provided in the forum by individuals. They take a very small fee. I've used one of them and the transaction went through quickly. If you have enabled replace by fee, you can increase the transaction fees yourself when you are in hurry.

If the match I want and I know I'm going to win on, I won't hesitate to transfer my coins to that specific gambling site. Come on, if you know and feel positive about that, why not risk more and believe in what you believed in to do? I think it's better to gamble once you know what you are going into and know the actual match. If not, you might regret it later and wish you have gambled. It's better to risk than to gain nothing doing nothing.

You cannot train your patience when you know your team is gonna win the match as they in advantage to play against 10 men in football for example
And while you waiting for the bitcoin to arrive in your wallet , few minutes later your team score  goal and the odds dropped drastically.
That moment you will feel angry on how the tx fee and tx time takes too much time
That is very annoying moment.
The next day you will switch to use altcoin!

Option number two and option number four is the best solution for this issue, it happens to me several times the transaction won't confirm and I need to get Bitcoin to my dashboard, I contact a friend in telegram channel who has an existing and active thread on transaction acceleration and I ask him to add my transaction txt to his accelerator and in less than an hour it confirmed, the second option is

I will double spend it with higher fee to get the next sent transaction confirmed quick, because I want to gamble at any cost.
is also a good option if you think you can win big that day, I seldom use this option because accelerator always solve the issue.

I'll just wait honestly. In my years of gambling with btc, bugging the customer support about some things such as confirms wouldn't get you anywhere, as it's not only their platform imposing this kind of rule but also other platforms in order to prevent double-spending. During high volume of transactions within the network and the mempool is clogged for bitcoin, I usually just send my coins to an exchange and trade it to XRP or any other coins that doesn't have this same problem running on their networks currently, and I send amounts that are big enough that it could accommodate my next gambling ventures. Has worked for the past years and I think it would also handle the same situation quite similarly.

If the amount is huge with respect to the fees, I'll try to increase the fee using tools. Generally, if I think there's winning possibility in a gambling bet, I would love to pay any fees that is needed to make the transaction go through since I'll be in profit in the end :) but if the transaction fee is higher as compared to the transacted amount, then surely I'll just wait, because even if the transaction fee is increased doesn't mean it will get confirmed instantly!

If your transaction already included into the block then it will get confirmed in the next few minutes, or else choose the casino which deposit ur funds with zero confirmation itself if RBF function is not enabled. Or else you have no other choices than waiting for your transaction to get confirmed. If you have no time to wait then send another transaction with highest fee to get your bet on time.

I prefer sites that accept instant deposits and withdrawals and they deal with all the related problems like mempool etc.I will make you a personal example,I manage a few mining rigs for some colleagues of mine and yesterday I withdraw about 0.051 Btc but since all that was from mining in 0.001-0.0025 chunks the fee in electrum could not be lower than 0.01 btc which I unfortunately paid.I learned my lesson that I should sent mining payments once every 3 months and not every week but I feel your pain.

I will wait for a while and watch because I don't think that the transaction will get fast confirmed.
But I always check the fee before I make a transaction, and if the fees are too high, I will pending to send on my gambling site account, even if I have a positive feeling to win the games.
Maybe I will take a look at another website with the same bets as that site to send some money to that site.
If I already send the money and not getting confirmed or have 1 confirmation, I will ask the support system to know what is going on with the transaction and ask for their help to solve the problem.
But so far, I don't have that experience before, and I don't want to get that experience in the future.

Wait and watch, that's all I can do. I don't want to do other options because it will cost more, and usually, the website's support staff will reply they need some confirmation before they can credit my crypto.
But if this transaction already meets the requirements confirmation of depositing on gambling's website, I would consider asking the support to credit my funds.

If I have some balance left in my wallet I would go for a double spend(RBF/CPFP) just to increase the fee then make a few bets to clear the rollover and exchange them to altcoins temporarily.

On sportsbet you'd get the same experience when you RBF your unconfirmed deposit you have to contact their support and request for a manual fix. How long did it take before they removed the other transaction?

I can't wait at all, I will ask a mining firm to help me as I will pay more fee (applicable on RBF transactions only).
Where have you seen that please? Your transaction doesn't need to be "RBF" for being accelerated. The mining pool just need to include it in the block they are mining.
I would add, it's useless to call a tx accelerator if your transaction is RBF, since you can "accelerate" it yourself...(it's the goal of RBF)

its not a poll but the supposed to be poll are part of the question/title ? im not aware to other sites if they follow some amount of confirmation before they credit the coins but on the site where i play they need 1 confirmation  . its fast  ,  the number of confirmations really matter and can impact the experience of the gambler . if you depo to a gambling site with a high fee and it got stucked that its not normal anymore , why not ask some help from the miners or pay extra if needed since you already pay with a high fee earlier . you can afford them .

I never face such issue I usually send or deposit three hours before I bet in case there is a network congestion and I never in a hurry to take a bet, I just wait to confirm or if I really want to play right away I deposit other coins that has lower fees and can confirm fast, or I use an accelerator service, I have done it once and they only ask a tip even a small tip will do.

As covfefe says, Replace by Fee. I enable it by default from my Electrum so I'm really never worried if the fee I set is too low. That said, I hardly ever make a casino deposit in a hurry. Have always deposited in advance of when I need to play (which is always 1 sat/byte haha) and then I let it take as long as it needs. Everyone's of course got urgent txs but my gambling money's never been part of that!

You sure you're not being stiffed by "miner accelerator" groups though? I know of only 1 that works (antpool) -- place was awash before with fake accelerators who really only just push your tx...

Well you are right about that! There's no argue with your statement here! I wait my deposit for playing slots, and online games like roulette and some card games! I can afford to wait, and my words comes from that point of view! When you need fast deposit and you are short with time, because matches will start soon, and then waiting for deposit to get confirmed can really be painful! For that purposes I always have some ready amount sitting in casinos where you can bet on sports!

It wasn't hard for me to choose the first option in the poll because I don't have such strong feelings about gambling. I'm never absolutely sure about the bet I'm about to make, and I'm never eager to get so much as to pay crazy fees. Moreover, I usually bet in advance, so this situation when I'd have to pay the fees to get the money asap is unlikely.

No offence. I was just surprised that no one noticed it before. It seems to show that many people are thinking the same.
So I hope it will help them : if your transaction is RBF flagged you can speed it up yourself without having to call a mining pool for that.
And even if your transaction isn't RBF flagged you can submit it to a tx accelerator.

If my transaction is stuck and I aboslutley need to bet on the coming event, the safest and easiest way would be to deposit some other bitcoin with a higher fee (if it's an option). I have done that a few times, sometimes on the same casino while sometimes on other as the odds too change quite easily. So, it would be better to be cautious about fees when you are to start betting immediately.

That is pretty reasonable thinking and that is how I would do it. But I can understand that some gamblers are so passionate about gambling and eager that they make some unreasonable moves that can even harm them. For them it's very hard to keep cool head. I wonder if they calculate extremely high fees and unconfirmed transactions into gambling loss.

Always contact the support whenever you encounter problem as fast as possible so they will be prompt to know that something happens and they can tract it, since once you just wait and time passes by the transactionkeep coming as well we will know how fast their support can handle the problems since if they do it means they can be a good casino we can support with.

The topic is very interesting for me that I have faced such a problem a few days ago but it was on an exchange where I submitted all my funds for withdrawal to my another wallet but it was not successful even after 72 hours. I have contacted their support but they can not give me the proper solution yet. Then I got my funds 9 days later. It was too annoying for me to face such a problem. You can't imagine it's feeling without falling into this trap. If it happens in any gambling site and there was exciting gameplay then you may miss it.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the show, that is how I looked at it every time I play gambling it is all about entertainment whether I win or lose it is fine with me for I don't take gambling as part of my earning instead as for fun.

If my wager wasn't accepted by the gambling website because of the slow transaction it doesn't matter to me neither I will pay for a higher fee just to get confirmed in my transaction though it might have a little impact and might as well regret it after finding out that supposedly I should win if my wager went through but that is not enough for me and decide to spend more in the transaction fee I just say to myself I guess it is really not for me.

The only solution during these circumstances is to find gambling sites with zero confirmation and sportsbet.io is one such site where they allow you to gamble even with zero confirmation. You need to add that option too as i am sure many will be searching for sites that allow you to gamble despite your coins getting confirmed. Other than that increasing the fees is the only option.

If you are really that on a hurry then you can always opt in for increasing its fee for it to be at least confirmed and be credited but if you are a
person who can wait up then you would just let that transaction to confirm but i doubt if you are up into a certain game or important bet then
that would really be a real test out of your patience. If you do have money then most likely you would really make up some step.
If you dont have anymore funds then it sucks when you are just sitting there and go back and forth to check if said transaction at least
get some confirmation to be credited on the platform.

I will go to the gambling website's support staff and ask them to credit my coins and let me play.
I will double spend it with higher fee to get the next sent transaction confirmed quick, because I want to gamble at any cost.
I will increase the fee as my transaction was RBF.

-It will be most likely the case if you dont plan to pay for more in fee then you would end up into this option.
-Ask a miner? Finding one will already be a hell of a work.  :D
-Its dumb for you to ask out on something that they arent in control.Theres nothing they can do.
-It wont work.
-This is the only valid way i do saw on where someone can make such action. Increase the fee for faster confirmation.

Wait and chill is the most common and logical thing to do. Also using a transaction accelerator could be a help and there are some few accelerators on the internet that is free.

Maybe if you have a match you know that you will bet on it's better to deposit in the casino early so you won't experience a hassle in the process.

I also don't think contacting customer support will help you bring up your deposit instantly, and you will be lucky if the support will reply faster than your transaction.

LOL this is really on point on bolded part where most sportsbook support do sucks and doesnt even respond immediately and its pointless because this is on blockchain works not theirs. So it isnt really just right to be added up on the option or in poll.Im a man that isnt really a fan on paying up more fees once a transaction had been made, unless if its a big amount then i might do it for faster transaction but most of the time i can really wait up and if i missed a certain bet then just move on and find another one.It really sucks on times like these where delays is common when the network is clogged.
It do really affect your gambling activity because fees are insanely high at the moment.

As long as how we consider a fee "as high".

If I really want to push for my bet, I will go whatever the fees. I'm doing gambling in the first place and not to be worried about the fees. It doesn't mean I'm fine at these high fees but if I'm comfortable with my bet, I can surely covered what I'm paying for fees.

But to clear things up, my 100% accurate response will just know once I get to that situation.

Unless the casino will credit the BTC faster after talking to the support. I doubt for someone who doesn't bet huge amount regularly.

Sending an altcoin will be the best option to go than just waiting for its confirmation. Your winning bet is approaching and you will have to place a bet.  Most of them right now accept altcoins, I would rather be using the fastest like XRP if the casino does accept it. It will surely reach to the wallet first before the BTC that is stuck with zero confirmation.

I don't know what will be my approach in case I end up paying high fees.

But to solve that, the first thing that comes to my mind is to have a one-time deposit so that I will not end up making several deposits. Although it's a risk for me to stored funds on gambling sites, I need to put my trust in them. I'm not talking about big figures here so should be fine and nothing to be worried about that on my end.

There are also other options such as using other coins but not all gambling sites especially sports betting sites that supports several coins.

I usually prefer to set the fee over 10 satoshis per byte which is the minimum for accelerating the unconfirmed BTC transactions on viabtc pool. Everything is easy and copying the transaction id is enough to finish the job. After the first confirmation, I will head to a gambling website and bet on the favorite match. Otherwise, the child pays for the parent method still works on the Electrum wallet and I can increase the fees too for the unconfirmed transaction.

Paying up $20 or more? I highly doubt that someone will really be willing to do such decision. For rich people then they wont mind but for average gamblers that do only make out bets for penny amounts then this will really be a big issue for them yet not all would be willing to make out such transaction with horrendous fees and if they do saw a good bet then its just unfortunate that they can really make it out due to that reason but somehow if they can see other ways ex. betting with alts then that will be their last resort as long they can able to make out some bets.

I just cant believe that someone did really vote out for this option : I can't wait at all, I will ask a mining firm to help me as I can pay more fee.

Do they really believe that they can done such thing?

Really depends on how Confident you are of yourself or your betting strats. If you think you can win big and earn back the high fees you have paid initially then the most sensible answer is that you'll push for the bet. Regardless of if there are discrepancies you meet along the way. But if you think you're not gonna win, of course you'll second guess on pushing the bet.

Yes, if you are like 99% sure that you will win for some reason, will pay for the high tx fee.
Since you are confident that you will win, then you can always get your money back, and more than your initial funds.
Also, before that game, if you have the chance to exchange your coins to other alts like maybe xrp or doge and the target casino site is accepting it, maybe that's your one option.
So anytime, you are ready to send it to them as the transfer of these alts is relatively cheap and fast.

Man, you have RBF option, it's so easy to use it now (especially with Electrum) or CPFP (Child pay for parent). So if you're think you will win for sure, there is nothing which can stop you from getting your btc into site. No need to say that if site is down or it disabled deposit option your only way is to butthurt and nothing more  :D

If it is true that the match is really sure I will win, I will immediately choose to double spend it with a higher fee.
Because I don't want to be regret for missing my chance to win a bet that I am sure of the outcome. It will cost me
whatever it is to be able to bet on that match, and several times I have experienced that.

In this situation, if in case sending btc would cost me more than the amount I’ll spend, I don't have an option but to wait. Just like the experience I encounter lately,  the transaction I made of sending btc to an online casino is too long to confirm. Even when you feel like winning the game it is not guaranteed the outcomes will be on your side. Betting the game is unpredictable possible our strategy will not in favor on us.

As long as I will pay by BTC, then I don't mind it. 10,000 satoshis can be $20 soon. Fees are high because others are calculating it by its USD value. My gambling capital came from my BTC holdings and not directly to my pocket cash money so not affected at all by these high fees in USD value.

If ever the BTC value increases as a fee, then that's the time I might think twice before sending it to a gambling site.

That is so good if you have your funds ready in your account in advance, but this thread was made for those gamblers who miss out on the upcoming bets sometimes and accidentally see it the last minute and try to bet on it. Favorite teams or players, haha.  ;D

Inadvisable at any rate =p You gamble with what you can afford to lose, which is usually planned in advance. But yeah I get it. I've been there before. Played in a tournament where I ran out of funds before the end. Or at a poker tourney where I've progressed more than expected and think another buy-in's worth the shot so close to the winning spots...

Double spend is a good option if you cannot wait, I have not done this I usually wait for my transaction to confirm I have a specific time to gamble and if there is a coming event that I want to bet I just deposit the day before the event, you can also hire transaction accelerator for a minimal fee they can get your transaction speed up, asking the operator is also good, provided that there is at least 2 confirmation already and you are a VIP and with a good standing in the platform.

High fee you said? of-course i will ever go ahead to make any deposit irrespective of the fees. The bottom line is: will this gambling [bet] give the needed profits for the fee?, if yes, then am in already.

This scenario has happened to me sometime early this year, i friend set me a good bet in one of the oldest gambling platform here and ensured i bet it for win but merely looked at the bet i find some good opportunity for my win, so, i went ahead despite the fee and with all the risk to bet the games and i won at-last. High fee shouldn't stop anyone if the games are sure for a win.

Once I gamble, I can't wait to bet, I want my money to instantly credit so I could start playing my bet.
I understand the current situation, the network is congested so I would not force to use bitcoin, instead I'll go with altcoins as it's cheaper and faster to confirm.

Fees are a huge pain in the ass nowadays. Well, I never thought of asking some mining firm to do me some favor about such stuff though, I wonder, is that even a thing? I mean, is there anyone who go such length? But I might consider that option given that my favorite team was on the matchup. So maybe, yes, because if not, then I won't. I wouldn't bother myself about it.

Well, the last two options, tbh was the most plausible recourse among here, I'd say. Since there was no confirmation yet better shoot those fees a bit up, I wouldn't have to put extra effort into reaching some person (staff) anymore.

Well, If I am in no rush or itchy about the matchup, then maybe I'll have to wait.

I will wait patiently, until the Bitcoin that I send arrives at the gambling site. Because it is the best choice in my opinion,
other options are very risky and could cost me more. After all, there is no certainty of winning in gambling. So if I miss
betting on that match, I will use it in another match.

For me, I will still hold in the motto [patience is a virtue] but in my case, I will just wait and if my bet didn't push through that is perfectly fine with me at least I still enjoy watching. I don't buy those high fees just to confirm my transaction though I regret it sometimes especially if supposedly win in my bet, -- I wouldn't mind it because for me gambling still remains as a form of entertainment that can give you happy moments or the other. But I am not against those who take gambling seriously because we always have individual differences and if it happens that I'm one of them I think I should do it as well paying higher fees to confirm my transaction in any betting platforms.

I dont see any casinos now that does have that instant deposit feature yet we know that it can be possibly having some problems when it comes to possible double-spend that
had already been unveiled in the past which other users tend to abuse thats why majority is been requiring at least 1 conf in the network before the deposit do credit out
on gambling sites wallet balance.

You wont really have any option but to wait up for deposit to credit out unless if its was RBF then you can increase the fee anytime as you like but the question is,
would you really tend to increase it?If you are in a hurry then you might possibly do it but if not then you will just sit back and relax.  8)

It is really irritating when you do wait up when you do really like to play gambling on spot or to see some good chances with your bets.

If double spending can solve the problem and you are confident with your winning bets then it is worth as long as your winning will give you some profit deducted by your expenses in transaction fees.

Because if I were in your case and I am 100% confident that my bets will win then I will do anything just to confirm my bitcoin transactions, if mempool is clogged then I will increase my fee just to prioritize my transaction.

Waiting and watching can only be a good option when mining fees come under control in near time and the mempool gets cleared up quick, but after observing current situation about the fees, I have selected the last (and probably the best) option of replacing my fee by adding extra fee if I want to make a quick favorite bet on a gambling portal. I also have some good contacts of a few reputed gambling websites where I can ask them directly to credit my account with the coins and they happily help me out.

And customer supports doesn't have the authority to credit you some coins just because you experienced a transaction delay.

Even if the casino credit deposit instantly, they need to wait for the confirmation process. If the network is busy and has big transactions that needed to confirm all at once, it would wait for a while. If you can increase the fee, perhaps, you will get a fast confirming of your transaction. So it is better just to wait and watch the confirming of the transaction, or we can come back in a few minutes later to see if it is done or still wait for more. I don't want to spend more to get credit in my account.

Contacting the support is always been my attitude in gambling sites that is giving me some issues and luckily that they are acting fast than i expected.
Why do other actions when they can resolve their sites issue right and besides this is their obligation being service provider and reporting is our obligation being a user.
so this is a both parties action that will make our gambling playing cool and fun.

Set the fee of your transaction to maximum than anything in the mempool so your transaction will get confirmed in the next 5 to 10 minutes. You can't ask the website to deposit the funds which isn't having any confirmation yet, the balance will reflect once you reaches certain number of confirmation that's it.

The best option if you  are tempted to play is to choose only gambling sites to play that will credit your balance in time they get the confirmation they need.

Probably ask the support, the response honestly just depends on your reputation as well as the activeness of their support team, so this is kind of risky in it's own way since the replies could come from a range of minutes to even hours. Not that I'd honestly been in such a situation though, but if I were to put into one, I'd first ask for support before doing anything else. Spending more to push the transaction doesn't seem like a good move, especially since you're not really having a guarantee of a return with your bet. It'd honestly be double the disappointment if you actually lose the bet you spent those fees for.

Still, if I was desperate enough, I'd probably choose to increase the fees, I'd want to try transaction accelerators but I've honestly never used them before.

I never been into this kind of situation before but if I've face I think I go for the double spend to prioritize my transaction, but it will incur additional fee, but if I still have the time before the actual betting I can go for transaction accelerator, it always worked and have tried it several times in the past, but it will take two to four hours, I hope I'll never experience that it's quite depressing, if the outcome goes out to your favor and you did not made it.
well from your explanation that I can interpret it will increase shipping costs if needed but so far when I want to deposit or withdraw assets to my wallet I don't have to be like that because after all it will definitely enter the wallet, just need to be patient and of course movement the price of coins is not too fast so it is still safe when using normal speeds.

Gambling sites like sportsbet and roobet currently have instant deposits. I agree the double spending can be a problem and even though they have a good solution against them it's still an inconvenience for the casino and the confirmation rule is the only alternative for this.

Even if the casino credit deposit instantly, they need to wait for the confirmation process.
It's not really needed imo the waiting process becomes less of a priority unless you plan on making a withdraw later on.

It's a waste of time contacting support if the gambling site does not have instant deposits. The replies are the same as other gambling websites that require confirmation. They can't help you unless the confirmation is enough for them to credit your funds.

Well, if you can afford to pay the current amount of fee needed for sending your btc to the site from your wallet then why not send iy so you can bet but if not then you'll have to wait before you send the btc. If your favorite team is upcoming for betting so the question is, are you willing to risk your btc for the team you wanted to bet?.

I will, maybe I will just get some amount not too big just exact to cover the fees and still able to bet properly. Since I might regret not betting when I found out they win, if I lose then it will be just a way of supporting and I only bet a minimal amount. It will depend on how much are we going to bet, we can't deny the fees are too high and we can't do anything about it but just to use other alts that have much lower transaction fees.

Of course this is what i will surely do

Quote
I will go to the gambling website's support staff and ask them to credit my coins and let me play.

because there is no much better approach in this kind of problem is from the gambling site ends answering your queries .

And i believe since i only play in legit casinos then they will answer me ASAP so i can continue my betting.

I also picked this option and I consider this a good option instead of adding more or double spent which will incur you additional fees if it is past at least 2 confirmation I will ask support if they can grant my request to credit my account, if they turn me down I have no choice but to double spent, I have not yet experienced this scenario before but I will now have an idea when it does.

There are several ways to mitigate this high fee issue based on my research and experience over time:

1. Transact only on weekends since the mempool is usually not very congested during this period. For example, I just sent a transaction earlier today and it reached the destination address within 30 minutes.

2. Choose alternative currencies like Litecoin, Dogecoin etc whose TX times are way faster when compared to BTC.

3. Use segwit which helps reduce TX fees by upto 30%.

First of whenever I would gamble or make a transaction I would check the amount of fee required to make sure my transaction wouldn't be delayed or stuck.
And for OP's given situation I would make sure to put up enough fee to ensure that my crypto would be part of the priority transactions so it would reflect faster on the site so I could bet it right away.
Since it is my favorite team or game I would make sure that I wouldn't miss the chance of betting on it.

I have played at few casino which credits deposit amount without any confirmation. DuckDice & LuckyFish are those type of casino. Maybe there are more casino which support instant deposit but I don't know or can't remember. DuckDice is my first choice to play with btc deposit.
Though LuckyFish allow instant deposit but I won't suggest anyone to play there. Cause the casino had some bad review at crypto gambling industry(also in this forum) while they started their service. But as an old user I haven't faced any problem there yet.

Even if the casino credit deposit instantly, they need to wait for the confirmation process.~
They will credit the deposit fund instantly to your account and you can play with that. But before making withdrawal, tips or rain your transaction must need to have required number of confirmation.

See if you did send the money from a wallet which allows you to increase the price of the transaction fee when you have already sent it then you can just increase the fee afterwards. But if you are using a wallet which does not allow you to do that , you can just wait for it to confirm and then make another transaction with appropriate fees then you can place your bets and then send the money back in the wallet of use it for the future.

Taken you are using a website which is trustable so you can wait for a while for using that btc.

Rest use wallets like samourai since you will have more options. You have fee options there like :
Urgent
Normal
Low

You can choose depending upon the time you can wait until you make a bet.

I always keep a small amount of my coins in the form of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) or Ethereum (ETH). When the Bitcoin transaction fee goes over the roof, I mostly make deposits using these coins. And as far as I know, most of the gambling sites accept deposits with BCH or ETH. Some of them even accept Litecoin and ETC, but I don't have those coins in my wallet.

In fact I have never had a problem like the OP asked me when I wanted to gamble. I often make transaction at the suggested fees and it doesn't make me have to wait for confirmation any longer. But for some reason, lately I've been using altcoin instead of bitcoin to prevent high fee. If I did, I would probably wait until my bitcoin were credited to the account. Just wanted to look a little relaxed without rushing to make a bet.

Yes, the cost options are helpful enough to get fast confirmation. I rarely use high fees and I usually prefer normal or slow fees as long as it's not in an urgent situation.

I think in the most cases when the fees are high, than the transaction should be processed pretty quickly. But if the transaction gets stuck somehow and the time is pressing, I would try to pay an even higher fee just to get it through. Like in your example above, if there is a nice match I want to bet own and I am pretty sure of winning then it should be no problem to pay a bit higher fee. Because my winnings should easily offset these fees. If the fees are higher than my winnings, than of course it's not worth it.

That would be an advantage so your transaction will be prioritized. Higher fee for a very urgent need to push your luck.  Didn't have the need that's why I haven't tried the wallet. Metamask also work this way but it seem to take 5-15 minutes still.

Frustration will go up after learning you pay high for the transaction to go fast but end up clogged still. You just don't know what happen unless you get help from a miner.

It would really be depending on the factors if someone decided to pay up more fees and as you had illustrated if the said winning will cover up those fees that had been spent
then its really worth to add up some fees for faster transactions as long you wont able to miss out such event for you to bet which you do see that it has higher chance of winning.
Its just common sense that you would really be eager to fasten up the transaction so you cant just have to sit and chill out because the feeling of missing out a good match which
you know that you have the edge on winning wont really be that giving you that calmness in mind. Therefore, you would haste up and do those ways.

Why risk it when you want to bet and use bitcoin? First of all if I am in a hurry I will probably find a place that has something other than bitcoin, like for example ethereum which still has a decently high fee but at least cheaper and more common, if they have something more that would be even better, there are places that accept usdt now for example which is as instant and as cheap as it gets.

So, I would say if you are in a hurry pick a place with altcoin and you could wager that way, it would help you start betting right away and you will not pay fee and you would have no problems. However if you insist on using a place that only has bitcoin option and no other option, why wait until the last second? If there is just an hour until game starts, do not bet and just deposit later and bet on another game.

The casino staff can't help you if the transaction doesn't confirm. They can do something only when you have confirmations but cannot see the money on your gambling account.

If there are no confirmations all you can  try the last 2 options in the poll which are sending another tx with higher fee or double spending if possible.

You can also sit and wait. It depends on how long you've been waiting already.

It's a rare case to me that I will just deposit funds when my preferred bet is now taking place. I usually funding my gambling site's account as early as I can because odds are changing and I don't want a hassle bet.

But for let's say, the confirmation time takes too long to the point that my bet is about to tip-off, then no choice for me but to wait. It's a sorry if my funds won't make it and that said bet won. After all, there are lots of "next time" and won't even bother to send a concern to the support.

I guess there is nothing to do but to wait for the transaction to be confirmed. At least 1 confirmation is needed so that casinos can avoid being caught in a double-spending transaction which can result in losing money. And as far as I know, most casinos require a minimum of 3 confirmations so as to transfer money to your balance. However, I think that compromise can be made if there is at least 1 confirmation. However, it is not really necessary because as long as it has 1 confirmation, you will soon get another 2 in a short time

Right now, gambling with bitcoin is a little bit annoying since the fees are too high and blocks are confirmed with a stagnant speed. Therefore, in my opinion, it is wiser to gamble with other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum or Doge. They are faster than bitcoin and more convenient if you want to split your capital into smaller parts for a longer amusement

I believe this will solve your issue, we all know that miners prioritize transaction with high fees, accelerators are good but I don't think they can help confirm in time, I asked help to accelerate my transaction but it still goes 5 hours to confirm.

But it's better to schedule your deposit in time that you are going to gamble, if you cannot then choose other coins with low fees and fast confirmation.

We can do nothing with the bitcoin fees, but we can wait for a while until the fees can reduce. Fortunately, we have many coins that we can use to playing gambling, and with the bitcoin fees increase, it will not stop us from playing gambling. The altcoin can serve us in the fast confirmation and the fees are not too high compared to bitcoin. But even if we can use the altcoin to gamble, we still need to be careful with the addiction because we never know when we lose the money.

It's very high time dealing with bitcoin when it's soaring up. Some sportsbet and casino site are so ridiculous to charge equivalent of $10 btc for just single withdrawal. What I believe it's not all about miner fees. I can't rely their words fully as fees are dynamic so, they're not able to quote a fixed amount. It's time to move alternative currency until everything settle down or get sensible charges.

Maybe the least thing that I can do is to just wait and contact some website support staffs in order to check the transaction that I have made, and also if it will be just an delay then probably I can just ask also to put some chips in my account so that I can bet on my team because I have some instincts that it will win. Provided that the transaction about the delayed transfer will be confirmed.

The best thing in my opinion would be to just wait even if you got a good betting opportunity waiting, there's not much you can do if your transaction is not confirmed on the blockchain except maybe use one of those free transaction accelerator services which actually kind of works in many cases, unless the transaction that you just sent is confirmed but is just not credited into your account which is a totally another story and because it's the gambling website problem you surely have to contact support since there could be some issues that only they can help you with, there's issues like this that should convince more gambling websites to add more payment methods for other coins that usually charge lower fees and have faster transaction speed as well.

Right now is not good moment for using bitcoin as currency for betting in gambling, last week I sent bitcoin have waiting for more than five hours with lower fees above $3, how come if using faster you need $5 for fees transaction. Better check with betting site have support with using altcoin as deposit like TRX, DOGE or XRP, by using altcoin you can less payment fees with TRX just take 1 trx each transaction you make. I think with bitcoin is not good way for betting because you have pay more when deposit and withdraw later because have higher fees transaction you need. Maybe you can wait when bitcoin transaction back to normal with lower payment fees and have faster for withdraw or deposit to confirmation.

When you do make use of wallets like electrum then you would really have this RBF thing where you can always increase up the fees as you'd like in case that you have
seen that the transaction was stuck for long time due to low fee.

I have chose in the poll where I do just need to wait and chill before confirmation do pops out.Im not really increasing any fee and if got stuck then let it be
yet theres nothing you can do aside from increasing its fee.

Its not really that appealing to see fees that way more that $5 in my part.

I'll be waiting to receive the sent amount, because anything in hurry has more chances of loss. Everytime I look for spending on a team I prefer live betting than pre-match bets. So I'll be having enough time for the transaction to get confirmed and make use of the same on gambling with ease than getting hurry.

The best thing to do for sure is to wait until you get what you paid for.But if the site is unresponsive, waiting would be a waste of time. There are scam gambling sites on the other hand, reporting perhaps will be nonsense. Also, there are cases of transaction traffic especially if there are many users in that gambling site which will result to inconvenience. So it does depend. If it is a new site in your experience, and it is having bad popularity, then expect there are risks of permanent loss with that transaction. But if you are familiar with that site and have experience with it, the only thing you can do is to wait.

No, no. I will not use bitcoin as long as the price is high enough on the market and also the transaction fee are high. Would be a good option for making transaction at a lower fee would be to choose an altcoin. I think there are a lot of people doing it now for this reason, but I know it's only done by a few gambler. I wouldn't go any further with bitcoin on gambling if it was so expensive.

Voted, I will choose option 1 surely. When I have sent my Bitcoin with a high fee, I've no plan to double or increase the fee amount. How if it doesn't work and still no confirms? It just makes the worse thing and I don't want to have a bad mood all day by doing a careless way. That's why I think it is the best option to be calm and wait for the confirms.

I go for option 1. I've never gone as far as paying high fees or adding more fees to boost the speed. I make sure that I pay reasonable fees when I play in a certain casino since I don't put too much thought when I gamble. If there is a way or an option I can save fees such as using TRX or ETH I opt to use them than paying higher fees with BTC.

I think pending transactions like this are just normal but I wouldn't spend high fees just for it. I would choose sites with lower fees with faster transactions. If this happens, you better wait until your pending transaction is complete since that's all you can do but if nothing happens, you better contact their team. Just be wise and try to look for legit and reputable gambling sites.

I will just wait for it to be confirmed or be back on my wallet,
I wouldn't do anything since the fee for BTC is high right now or I could just send another one but in a different crypto.
I experience something like it before but back then the fee was small so I did sent another one just to gamble on the site and wait for the unconfirmed transaction to be confirmed or be sent back on my wallet.

What I believe it's not all about miner fees. I can't rely their words fully as fees are dynamic so, they're not able to quote a fixed amount. It's time to move alternative currency until everything settle down or get sensible charges.

Yes, I agree with that. But we can not deny that thing and we should still follow. But if we don't want to pay the high fee for withdrawal, we can convert the winning in bitcoin into an altcoin, so we don't have to pay a high fee. But that will depend on that gambling site because if the gambling site doesn't have an exchange, we can not do anything except accepting the rule if we want to withdraw.

Of course there is something you can do than Waiting or playing Demo games.

You can Contact the Support continuously so they we answer and make suggestion on what to do properly.

For me It is always better to have options than waiting because time is gold and In gambling our Luck may gone by the time we spent in waiting and acting nothing.

Well, I'm not really spending almost $10 for the miner fees just to get the transaction confirmed quickly, and If It wouldn't reach the website before the favorite bet begins , then there's not much you can do but to learn from that situation. Always check the mempool and miners fee, send Btc to the gambling website few days ahead of your favorite betting schedule.
Not everyone is willing to spend too much for the miners fee. So, it's better to have plans ahead to save yourself from ridiculous transaction fees.

And our favorite sports or team will still play next time so why bother and stress ourselves when we can Just wait and reserve
our excitement in other games?

Unfortunately still there are some casino websites that still do no accept deposits from LTC, TRX, DOGE and such to this day which to be honest that can really be a deal breaker for me personally and I'm pretty sure many other people feel the same way, lower transaction fees specially come in handy when you want to test out a new casino website with just a few dollars to see whether it's worth it to deposit more or not and because of the huge transactions fees of BTC at times you will be unable to do that because the same amount that you want to deposit you should also pay in transaction fees which makes it really frustrating while you could as easily just use many other altcoins that in addition to low transaction fees have almost instant transactions.

Correct, the best thing to do is to have a spare balance especially if you are waiting for a feature or event to happen. Bitcoin was never made for microtransactions, if we are to gambling with our funds, even if our bet is low, we should already allocate a good amount of our funds to it and to manage our gambling betting amount or lifestyle instead of always depositing money for daily needs.

But still, thanks to segwit as it helped us to reduce the transaction fees we need to pay as well as to make transaction confirmation faster.

So do I, instead of doing anything maybe better to pass for now.

This high fees really hurts the gamblers bankroll, though if the game you are really following have a high chance of winning for sure it's nature to anyone to take actions, depends from how you percept and see the opportunities.
If you really think that the game may win and the value of possible earnings can carry your additional fee, taking actions to pay of it always possible.

Had experienced scenario like this one, but that was because of a contest on-site.
In the case you that you'd given, I'll go to the one that cost less/nothing than paying more fees just my deposit to reach my balance.
It's better to try contacting the support of the casino to credit my pending deposit than adding fees or double spend, it's costly for me, not budget friendly.
Above all contacting the support and asking them to credit the balance is good both to me and the casino.

If I have sent Bitcoin with high fees it shouldn't take too long to wait for the transaction to be confirmed. So I will decide to wait
and be patient until the Bitcoin I send arrives. Even though in the end I failed to place a bet on my favorite match, there are other
matches that might be better. So don't overdo it by doing double spend. There is a possibility that the costs incurred will be greater.

I think I will ask the support if I can add more , since I cannot afford to lost this chance, in gambling you need to take the risk as well, if your instinct says that you need to bet on that then go for it, because if you will not do it then it will be your regret if your instinct is true, if you lose then charge to experience, gambler needed to manage his emotions as well so that it could not be so hard for him to suffer losses.
