You didn't lose anything but the possible profits you have made if you sold it out when the price was still okay, however, it is your fault because you were aiming on much higher that didn't reach by the market this month, so probably you should hodl your cryptocurrency and wait if it going to have a comeback this month or next month. Don't do panic selling, chill your ass in your room and always be updated on what's going on with the coins you have.

You are at a 50% loss, if it was me, I would continue hodling it but the decision is up to you as to how you are going to deal with this. Always remember that the charts of a lot of crypto in the market only goes up in the long-term, look at bitcoin during the 2018 winter and compare it to what is happening now, it is pretty much higher than the past.

Next time, set a goal where you would sell, put it into an order, go fishing or sleeping, come back when order was filled= PROFIT!

Nobody can predict the future, crypto is a highly risky asset and you should only have money in it that you can afford to lose. Actually,  you will loose your money when yu sell them right no at the lower prices.

Probably, you are a newbie in this space and don't know what exactly is a loss in crypto currency, well, the thing is that in  crypto, you never loose in until you sell, you can be in loose of potential profit at a time of bear market or when the market is down, but this aren't a real lose, the real lose comes when you decide to sell at a price that is below what you bought them.
A coin you still hold still have a chance to recover, and when it recovers, you holdings will turn profit again, so all you have to do is hold your coins tight, eth and cardano are very good projects, so the price is sure to bounce back ones the market enters green zone again.

I'm in a similar situation in so far as my portfolio dropped in value in dollars but rather than sell I spent a few thousand dollars buying the dip and bought more ADA, BNB, DOT, LINK, AVAX and other promising coins :)

Sorry mate, but I can recall there were so many post made here, telling people to take profit of the bull market before a dump will happen and finally it came to pass the crypto market dumped massively beyond our wildest imagination, I think 99% of all crypto traders lost their money when the dump happened, if only you took your profit before the dump happened you wouldn't have lost all that money, the market seems bearish right now, I'm not so sure if you can recover everything this year, except you learn and start trading, although it's not certain you will earn from it because it's very risky you could still lose there.

My has been down for 3 days now his life saving all gone in futures, everything was liquidated he.doesn't even know where to start from.

Your not the only one who have mismanaged the precious gems in these certain decline of market they remain focus on what was done because they believe it will be profitable in the future. Remember it will not lose your investment coin until you sell in a future time patient is the key.

I disagree with your statement "this is not fair". It's fair because the cryptocurrency market is volatile and risky, so no one can guarantee you a profit. Every smart investor should choose the right moment and the correct point to enter a trading position. If you bought coins before this bull run, you should have sold your Pancake, Ethereum and Cardano on any cryptocurrency exchange. By the way, I noticed that ADA did not drop as sharply as ETH.

I personally managed to sell some chunk of my altcoins at a high level. Trading is like a game. In any case, some holders/traders will win, others will lose. Figuratively speaking, learn to catch whales by the tail.

I guess you didn’t sell it while it is high last few weeks but I recommend that you must not sell it right now that the bearish market comes so just hold and wait till the bullish market comes.

As long as you don't sell it now, you will not loss, the money that used for investing in crypto should be money that can be withdraw at any time, so when the market goes down we can wait longer for the market get better, so we can have more possibility to get a profit later. You could have sold and now be happy with your profits. You could even reinvest them. But you decided to hold and lose your gains. Doesn't seem to be unfair but your decision only.

As long as you will not sell your hodlings it will remain to its value so if I were you, better hodl it for a long term and dont do panic selling. And additional suggestion better add more to your hodling sincr there are dips happening cause once it pumps up again it will definitely a good profit for you.

You are not the only one, I can tell you that selling now is not a good decision either, best thing is to be patient, the market will recover slowly when all this chaos has blow out, just relax and don't panic, almost everyone is experiencing same thing.

Need longer time to recovery with our assets and I loss more on LTC coin, I think when China announcement with banned bitcoin as currency transaction now we see how many people loss their opportunity to get much profit. I loss more than 50% in my LTC assets because price dump and I bought on $320 and now very cheap above $160$. I think need patience maybe one or two months later to see all coin back to higher price without any bad news from bitcoin.

Since you are investing in different coins, in fact, you have ETH. These coins are not scams, they have been in the market for a long time so there will be a big chance to recover them. In your case, at least you just need to be more patient and do as usual in buying and selling, slowly if you can manage it well then you can take what has been lost. I understand the upset, I once had something insane during this period as well, way before all of this bear run started, it was another token. There is a token called bdollar, and I owned a bit of sbdo, I had 1400 dollars saved up total because I wanted to buy a computer, unfortunately in my nation a good computer is very very expensive, a computer sold in USA for 999 dollars could be 4k dollars here, that is a big problem and I am saving up it is fine.

I put that 1400 dollars into sbdo and I reached as much as 11k dollars at one point, that was one of the best moments of my life, I was feeling crazy, what happened? I sold it for 1.6k when it dropped down a ton. I later used that for my own project I am working on as well and lost that too but the reality is that something I bought at 1.4k went to 11k and dropped back to 1.6k for me, that happens in crypto.

It is very clear that holding is your only choice left if you want to regain all of your lost money. The market is down really bad at the moment and many people are experiencing massive losses but most of them are still hopeful and willing to wait no matter how long it may take for the market to recover. If you are really eager to get back all of your money or recieve higher profits, then learn to wait and stop touching your wallet for a while. True you do not lose your coin but the price value of your coins which is recoverable if the market becomes bullish and the project of the coin is not shutting down.  We have seen this kind of event several times like for example, way back 2017  a certain token is worth $1.18, then bear hit the market and the value of this token goes down to almost $0.01  but recently it gains a majority of its value by having a price of $1.  If the holder sold the token back then, he would have lost huge amount of dollars but if he did not sell, with the current price of that token, he could have recovered and possibly end up with a huge profit.

My losses are even higher because i mainly own small and new projects which always dump the hardest during a bear market some of my coins are like 80% down. But it is what it is. You own a bigger projects and as you say yourself you are still at break-even so you did not make any loss. You said you had 3k on pancakeswap but didn't mention the token I guess it is Cake token, and if it is then I will say you will recover it if the market maintains a good form and you are still holding. Another reason why I think you will recover from Cake is, you can stake it to earn different tokens instead of just holding it in your wallet, and with such amount the profit you will make is good enough.
As for Ethereum, I still believe there is more to that coin and hence holding for long term would be a good idea. And lastly, ADA is another good coin which you can hold for long term too. Its kind of hard to recover when the current price is half of the price he bought, the only pogical chance is waiting for another bullrun but i doubt anyone could hold for that long or maybe there gonna be another bullrun at the end of the year who knows. But if whether it is recoverable or not, it is but no one know when it could be recoverable.

Holding too long without checking any news or updates from coins you invested in is a bad idea also. Although the coin is on the top of CMC those coins could also crash and never recover. I've bought NXT and XRP back in early 2018 with a really high price those coins are in the top 10 of CMC back then. So no need to rush and find a job for the meantime and leave your crypto alone for the meantime.

Well the mistake that you did is that you have not sold your coins even when they got 4x. Its good to hold coins for a long time but even if you have sold 25% of those coins you would have got you investement amount back and remaining you could have keep holding for a longer time.

As long as you have patience and do not sell during a market dip, you are good. Your assets might lose valuation but if you are able to HODl and the market recovers anytime, you back In profits and some investors take too much risk by investing in shitcoins. The last few days the price of coins in the market rose a few percent, even Bitcoin experienced a 20% increase in 1 week.
