Title: What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years?
Post by: RainbowKun on July 06, 2021, 03:44:38 AM
Many of us now invest in Bitcoin, not only did not make money, but in bitcoin price volatility, they also lost their principal.

Why is this so? Because we did not see the long-term value of Bitcoin, but lost our chip because of fear in the 24-hour violent price fluctuation of Bitcoin.

Here, let's do a simple thinking together. What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years? Will the Bitcoin network die?

First of all, it is certain that 99% of us are dead. We may see Bitcoin in 50 years, but it is difficult to see Bitcoin in 100 years.

But will the Bitcoin network die? In my opinion, even 100 years later, it is impossible to eliminate the influence of Bitcoin in human civilization.

Instead, Bitcoin has become the infrastructure of human civilization and is applied to all aspects of human civilization. And humans have begun to mine and dig Bitcoin on the moon, space station, Mars, and even outside the solar system.

If you think so too, what are we to be afraid of today?

Bitcoin brings us the sea of stars. We don't care about the rise and fall of its price, but to accompany it to the universe. We store Bitcoin today, not just for ourselves, but for our children and grandchildren.
We can give away the bitcoins we acquired today to our descendants as their wealth forever.

At the same time, 100 years later, I believe that Bitcointalk will always exist with Bitcoin. 100 years later, there will still be Bitcoin supporters coming here, posting and communicating.

Here, every paragraph we wrote today records the traces of Bitcoin when it was first born. I believe that the words we write today will become the imprint of Bitcoin and be recorded in the evolutionary history of Bitcoin civilization.

IThat's my point. What do you think of Bitcoin 100 years later? Do you think Bitcoin will die in 100 years?

In 100 years, it's either Bitcoin is already heavily adopted, or it's dead. I don't think there's a sort of in-between.

But yes, since I'm here, obviously I think it will survive and be successful in a bigger scale. But of course, as with anything, nothing is guaranteed, hence why everyone should practice finance and investing in a responsive manner. Only go literally all-in if you can afford to lose everything (e.g. if you're young); even though I think it's next to impossible for bitcoin to go bust in this stage(besides the typical price volatility).

Well, we have to admit that 100 years is quite a long period of time and it is beyond the normal life expectancy in the first place. I don't think that even Warren Buffet is thinking of 100 years when he is investing into something. Now, having said that, I got your point which is to think long-term when it comes to getting involved in Bitcoin. However, not all investors are that way because there are those who are just here for some months and maybe some years at the most and many are speculators - and we could not blame and stop them with doing so as Bitcoin is open to anyone regardless of thinking or convictions. For the sake of discussion, in 100 years time I would say that Bitcoin will already be a very popular and widely used currency globally by then though we can never rule out that a better and more vigorous cryptocurrency can overtake Bitcoin within the same period.

100 years is very far to predict what will happen with Bitcoin in the future, probably predicting 10-20 years in the future would be better. Imagining our world keep improving technologies and most of our activities are helped from digital or even robot, IMO Bitcoin will be used widely since Bitcoin it's a internet of money. Even though all countries were banned Bitcoin, but people still can use it without any centralized entity.

Remember 11 years ago 10.000 Bitcoin is worth for couple of pizza, but right now you could buy the pizza companies :D

To be honest,I don't care about what will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years.
Bitcoin might upgrade and turn into Bitcoin 2.0 or Bitcoin 4.0 after several decades,or it might be dethroned by a better altcoin or a new technology.
I don't believe that anyone would wasting be energy to mine Bitcoins on the Moon or Mars.Electricity that is produced on the Moon or Mars would be very expensive,so mining won't be profitable and also I don't think that the people, who will colonize the Moon and Mars would need cryptocurrencies to pay for goods and services.

no one can know for sure. could have grown rapidly as it was originally intended as a currency. we know that fiat money is now replacing the barter system that previously existed. and until hundreds of years we are used to money as a means of payment, it could be the same with bitcoin later

I'd say it will be dead. But that's not a bad thing. Bitcoin and other relevant cryptocurrencies are just an evolutionary step and there is no need to think it's here to stay forever. Bitcoin paved the way for something revolutionary and other future cryptocurrencies will build off of that idea.

The other option is that Bitcoin becomes to crypto what gold is to FIAT, a more or less stable standard.

in 100 years  there are many possible ways that the bitcoin go, either it vanishies and people forget about where another system better faster replaces it,  or it becomes the normal, the day to day payment method that we use for all our transactions, but i really think that the bitcoin has a large community and poeple who belive in its cause and will always support it no matter what, unlike all the altcoins that have been developped and forgotten.

Here, let's do a simple thinking together. What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years? Will the Bitcoin network die?
100 years is too long to speculate with.
Even 10 years is unpredictable. Can you imagine how 10,000 Btc has been used 10 years ago to buy pizza and how many pizza can you buy even with just 0.1 Btc today. So, anyone has definitely no idea what will happen in 100 years.

First of all, it is certain that 99% of us are dead. We may see Bitcoin in 50 years, but it is difficult to see Bitcoin in 100 years.
100% of us who reads this won't see Bitcoin in the next 100 years. Life expectancy today is around 70 years old. Even the Child born in the next 10 years won't see Bitcoin in the next 100 years.
So, yeah you have answered your own queries.

I think we should ask what will happen to Bitcoin in 5-10 years from now as this is relatively a good amount of time to show of what Bitcoin is capable. After 100 years I don't know what to think except that no one from us writing here in the forum now will be alive at that time.I am interested to see how Bitcoin will be after 5 years or a bit less,I am waiting to see what happens in 2025 as I believe it would have surely passed the 100.000 dollars mark we talked so much about during the last bull run.I am conserving almost 0.7 Bitcoin and I pray that the value will be more than 100.000 dollars during 2025.

I think bitcoin will be around in a 100 years. Gold has been around for thousands of years and fiat money has been around for nearly a century. Bitcoin will be here as long as it survives regulations or any unforeseen technical issues.

It's relatively young compared to other financial instruments so I don't think that a decade is enough for me,  so I still doubt that bitcoin isn't going to bust. Maybe if the things as it is continue and improve along the way in favor of bitcoin, maybe I can finally believe that bitcoin is going to last for a really long time.

Bad comparison though.

As others have said, 100 years? too much to speculate. First, we really don't know what will happen to the planet we live in, for God's sake maybe it won't be inhabitable in the next century.

But assuming people that time survived, maybe they will see the last bitcoin being mined and if become some sort of novelty or collectors item that time or it could be traded and become the currency that we all have been wanting to see, they definitely it will still be here.

We are 1/10th of the way through that timeline. Like others have mentioned, in that long of a time-frame, I feel that the only certainty is the survival of crypto and this new concept for a monetary system. As for bitcoin, it would either be THE predominant store of value, or be entirely driven out by something else.

This is a thing beyond my lifespan and I haven't thought about what BTC will look like in 100 years, but 10 - 20 years from now BTC will be really better than it is now because BTC's technology industry is moving forward and sustainable, maybe 100 years from now, my children and grandchildren will also like to invest in BTC like me now.

I wonder if we are still alive until that time as if we are in 30-40 years, our chances of lives will be small and maybe people below 30 years will be able to see if bitcoin will still exist or die.
But talk about 100 years will be a long time and many possibilities can happen, but hopefully, bitcoin will still be us and adopt by almost all countries.
Maybe if that is about 5 or 10 years later, that will not be too long to predict what will happen to bitcoin.
But still, that is difficult to predict bitcoin in the future unless we have crystal balls or have a time travel machine.

I don't know what the fate of bitcoin will be in the next 100 years. But we can reflect on the journey of bitcoin in previous years; which initially only cost a piece of pizza with the passage of time bitcoin turned into a valuable and valuable thing, maybe what is certain in the next 100 years the value of bitcoin will be high and followed by a very high price...??? but we all can't predict whether bitcoin is still alive or dead because the supply has stopped and runs out .. because by that time we might have already ....!!!!! :o

In 100 years the world will change to such an extent that it is very difficult to imagine today, and I think that some things that are important today will not play a big role then. At that time, people's perceptions of money and value may change, although it's hard for me to imagine a world that works on some other principles - so the fate of Bitcoin in 100 years is completely uncertain.

What will undoubtedly advance is technology, so while it may seem like science fiction, people have always looked for a way to become immortal - and storing human consciousness in computers and loading into a new body as needed may be possible in the future.

At the same time, 100 years later, I believe that Bitcointalk will always exist with Bitcoin. 100 years later, there will still be Bitcoin supporters coming here, posting and communicating.

As I wrote above, technology will become so advanced that forums will become completely unnecessary - it would be the same as communicating with the telegraph today. Since you are interested in the future, I recommend you take a look at the Altered Carbon and Black Mirror series ;)

It seems too hard to predict in that long, it could be after 100 years Bitcoin will still exist but it's too expensive to accumulate if we use the word satoshi (sats) per transaction, that year we might commonly hear milli-satoshis the smallest fraction of satoshi which is in there's 1,000 milli-satoshi in 1 sat, this also a native unit of the Lightning Network.

There are too many possible things that will happen after that year, Bitcoin has now 11 years of existent and we saw a lot of improvement on it.  It could be there's no Bitcoin to hold or Bitcoin mining will stop after 21 million supply has been mined.  But don't think so much because for sure at that year we didn't exist.  Just be it and think about how you can accumulate more instead.

We store Bitcoin today,
Some of us prefer to use it like a normal currency [I do know it has its own challenges].

not just for ourselves, but for our children and grandchildren.
I like your mindset but personally, I prefer to use a traditional approach instead.

We can give away the bitcoins we acquired today to our descendants as their wealth forever.
The highlighted word heavily depends on how they'd manage it [it could turn into dust if they're not careful enough].

What do you think of Bitcoin 100 years later?
I have a strong feeling that there'll be a significant reduction in regards to its volatile nature.

Do you think Bitcoin will die in 100 years?
It has died "422 (https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries/)" times so far but for some reason, it keeps coming back to life ;)
- On a serious note, I don't think it'll ever die but it'll surely evolve in some ways.

There can be some theories about bitcoin in the next 100 years. Since bitcoin technology and any should be adopted by the time or die I expect bitcoin to be adopted in next years and I believe that's what happens right now. The other theory for bitcoin can be seeing bitcoin to become super rare and due to the several halvings the miners will not earn that many bitcoins and the low amount of supply can make the price super high, maybe someone who owns even one single bitcoin will be a millioneir, here I beliabe in the second theory myself.

I think in those 100 years there are two situations possible, one is that it may be adopted by most of the people in the world or even it will be useless, so that's depend on the present that what are the consequences of people and how they react to it. But it is not in between both the situations. It may be either useless or reach its peak.

There's only 2 possible thing that could happen in 100 years later neither bitcoin had already become mainstream or bitcoin was simply been replaced and died on that time.

You cant really tell on what would be the future since no human being does have the ability to tell precisely on things that will happen ahead and even just predicting the weather on tomorrows time doesnt give out 100%
precision.

How much more on 100 years? Basing on what Bitcoin had achieved on a decade then we can say that it is likely that it would even more progress in the future.

I do not think Bitcoin will even be relevant in 100 years as with any currency in the world it has evolved to the next step. The dollar is probably one of the exceptions but many other currencies have changed name in their countries history. Bitcoin will probably be the one that started it all but there will probably be a altcoin which expands on the issues that Bitcoin has and solves them. Bitcoin is far from perfect and has some real big issues in the next 10 years which need to be solved before the deadline is reached.

I think the size of the Blockchain could become an issue in the future too and that has yet to be solved unless you think that relying on storage becoming cheaper and bigger in the future as a solution which I do not.

It is hard to tell what will happen during that period even though this not quite easy, if btc is still present at that time  I believe btc will remain the number one coin and will be extremely valuable by then, except someone was able to created a coin who can compete with btc by then, 100 years from now is such a long period of time, @op it is better you concerned yourself more with the immediate future.

1 century, that's quite a long time, even those of us who are in this era may not necessarily be there at that time. why mess with something that we can't even possibly feel. assuming too much is also not too important, it is better to focus at this time by studying the cryptocurrency ecosystem more so that you can make the most of it.

We? Who are "we"?

Actually, I personally will not think about 100 years later of Bitcoin's future.
Bitcoin is not only about this day and tomorrow volatility prices.
Bitcoin may also not have any "real thing" to be seen, the only digit, and also it's behind the technology.
But, why we do believe in Bitcoin?
Aside it will still exist or not, we cannot predict the future because we never go to the future.
But why do I personally believ in the future?
This is because of the belief itself.
I will predict and invest in every 5 years mostly and take profits. Whether it still exists or not after 5 years, this is my risk that I will take and I can afford it.
I believe that in the future, there may be another technology that is very advanced, probably. But, no one can also guarantee that Bitcoin is also ended at that moment. So why don't we cfocus on several years later that we can be still there and may experince?

Lots of things can possible to make happen in a span of 100 years. We can never tell if Bitcoin will still be existing by that time because what we just knew for sure is that most of us in here are all dead by that time and what will just experience and witness whatever will happen in 100 years from now will be the next generations of us. Maybe Bitcoin will be dead already or maybe people will have to soon realize to fully adapt into using Bitcoin by that time then. We just need to expect for best things to make happen. But as of now, the present time is the more important thing to focus since what will happen today will affect the future generation.

We don't even know what is going to happen in next 10 years, and you are talking about 100 years? It might become a mainstream currency. It might have replaced fiat. It might just be used as a store of value like precious metals. Or it might just die. A technology might be invented that is much better than bitcoin. Or maybe a huge flaw has been discovered that killed bitcoin (though I am sure people will come up with a solution to fix the problem). Or maybe we invented a very super fast computer that can break the chain or the keys in few seconds. See? So many possibilities.

100 years is really too much to think about. Most of us will not be here anymore.
Next 10 or 20 years would be much better to speculate at.
For another 10 years, I believe btc will still be here.
But we are not very sure as one better technology can make this obsolete. Who knows?
As we have fast changing technology, there will be someone that can invent much better than what we have now.

we can't say how bitcoin will be 100 years into the future. we can only see how the public responds to bitcoin. if the public response to bitcoin is still great and there are better crypto updates I think bitcoin can survive, but if there is no public response bitcoin can die quickly
It's too far to predict and no one can answer accurately, whether in 100 years bitcoin will still exist or will it die.
what is certain is that maybe we and all bitcoin users in this day and age must have died and will not feel and know it in the next 100 years, and if we see its growth there is a possibility that it will continue to grow and it could also be the other way around because no one knows because it is too far away to predict.

I agree that it is too far to predict what will happen 100 years later with Bitcoin, after all we are not in this world 100 years anymore. Why don't
we predict what will happen to Bitcoin in the next 5-10 years, it makes more sense to predict. I don't think there's any point in us predicting
the next 100 years, let it be predicted by the generation after us. I prefer to predict something no more than 10 years into the future, because
it is still easy to predict, although not necessarily accurate.

I think many big countries will accept bitcoin as payment method. I expect bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be commonly used in export-import trading. In my opinion at this stage the volatility will less happen but the price will tend to rise. I think the extreme volatility will only happens in altcoin market. I remember where Bitcoin is not yet recognized by country, not the situation is very different. I think if I expect that much is still okay.

Here, I read every reply carefully, thanks. I have also seen everyone's main points. Most people feel that 100 years is too long and difficult to predict. Relatively speaking, 10 years and 20 years are better to predict. In fact, what I want to express here is that 100 years is really very long for us as individuals, and it is difficult for us to live beyond 100 years. But for the entire human civilization, 100 years is really short. It passed quickly. I firmly believe that Bitcoin will still exist 100 years later, and a whole new human civilization has been built.

Because as you can see even now some of country gradually accepting bitcoin and the price were very expensive than real fiat. So how much more after 100 years?.. In 100 years bitcoin will be historically referenced as the basis for the multiple cryptographically secured digital currencies in use.
Blockchain technology will be widely adopted and perhaps used to record transactions such as deeds for properties.

People will wonder (or shake their heads) at average people who risked their own money to participate in a real life testnet.

But with the level of development and growth witnessed in the Bitcoin market, I am sure bitcoin will still be around in 100 years to come thing would have changed in several ways but certainly bitcoin will be on another level different from what we have presently.

Indeed it would become the world's most used currency as we right now are in the era like when the paper money was introduced and gradually people starting to adopt it. There's a high chance that people in that era would not use fiat anymore since everything is going to be computerized where bringing cash on going to some city would not make sense at all. Those master cards and visas are proofs that we are going to have total complete cashless transactions in the whole world.

Bitcoin itself will be long dead, but the ecosystem it created will be thriving with advanced tech cryptos. For you see bitcoin was actually a proof of concept; Satoshi hadn’t intended for the actual network that he launched to come as far as it has.

Bitcoin will not be dead bitcoin will continue to be used as long as the crypto lasts bitcoin is now growing rapidly in many countries around the world. Although bitcoin is not yet recognized as a currency in many countries due to its high demand and rising price bitcoin is rapidly gaining popularity the central banks of many countries have taken the initiative to formulate policies for bitcoin and are trying to increase its use. Bitcoin will prosper in 100 years its value will increase several times compared to the current situation.

In 100 years there are two things that can possibly happen. First is bitcoin might still be existing but already made as legal tender for most countries. The world is changing and even technology is upgrading to much better version. This could be a way for bitcoin to be recognize as an alternative to fiat. The second one is it might not existing anymore or surpassed by other crypto which made btc become obsolete.

Anyway we dont know what lies ahead, we never hold the future thus its better to stay focus and live to the present.

100 years is a long time and difficult to predict but seeing from the level of enthusiasm that continues to appear in Bitcoin from time to time it is not impossible that Bitcoin will become an alternative currency for a country

Our next generation will definitely adopt Bitcoin and put it to good use
Bitcoin light will get brighter from year to year to hell with China and other countries that spread Bitcoin FUD

No Because People are stupid and weak , it is not the volatility but because they don't even know what they are investing for but risk to bet without learning well.

You have already answered the question , we will never see this as 100 years we are all die.
But bitcoin network will never die , though at some point this will be abandoned ? who knows if the support fell for those years passed .

For me, bitcoin could still be existing at that time. We know that there is only 21 million supply of bitcoin and halving occurs every 4 years which makes mining of bitcoin more difficult. 100 years from now is 2121, and from what I've searched on google the last bitcoin will be mined on 2140. So I don't think bitcoin will stop existing before that happens, bitcoin and blockchain technology will only evolve as the technology improves. Bitcoin won't just disappear, it can only be replaced if someone invents something better than that.

Even for human civilization, 100 years is too long because the average human lives are 60-80 years, that it took one or two generations to see how bitcoin will be in the future. I also believe bitcoin will still exist, but for how long and that is the big question because new technology will develop. Cryptocurrency is a new phase transition from traditional currency to digital currency.

We can tell our grandchildren and explain to them about bitcoin, so maybe they can still use bitcoin for their benefits or use our bitcoin as a legacy. That will be good for them because they can continue what we did.

Bitcoin is an investment anyway, so it's not without risk. 100 years will be a lot of things change and no one knows the future. So I think: You should just invest your idle money. Buy some BTC and keep it, surprise! I myself will keep a small amount of BTC.

I am of the opinion that bitcoin will, in 100 years, have become a widely used currency if not the number one. There is no way bitcoin would die 100 years from.
Considering the rise in number of bitcoin adopters over the past the few years, it is reasonable to conclude that the number will continue to rise until everyone uses bitcoin.
Bitcoin is only a bit over a decade. Check how many people use bitcoin now and use the multiplying effect to estimate the number of people using bitcoin 100 years from now.
Trust me, the figure would be nearly the whole world if not the whole world.

That’s a huge prediction to made to be very much honest.
And yes sadly many of us might not be also present at that time to witness the world.
And it’s also baseless to predict for a such long years.
What possibly could have happened that either Bitcoin will be adopted by all the masses and became very expensive or it might just became dead.
This is my prediction and thinking.
Will enjoy to listen about other people’s opinion .

Bitcoin is unpredictable for next minute or you want us to predict bitcoin after 100 years. So it is really impossible to predict bitcoins position in 100 years but we can guranteed that it will creat a history. And which will be untouchable things in this world.  Not only that who is started from today with bitcoin they might be the role model for them who comes bitcoin after 100 years. So we can definitely say that bitcoin will be a history creator or that will be unbeaten history to the world. Its my opinion others can be different thank you.

Bitcoin has a strong potential to last a long time and if we look at the development and adoption that is happening today, it is very likely that bitcoin in the next 100 years will become an excellent alternative asset and currency and have a very high price, and it is also possible that bitcoin will be accepted by all countries and they will use it as legal tender.
Goals should be calculated from low to high and distribute these criteria from short term to long term, besides, we should also listen to the market and look at the most realistic angle of these criteria and views, typical of what could come in the next few years, in a human, economic and national context that has made so much progress with bitcoin, there is a high probability that another milestone in the market with bitcoin. But when changing on the story of a century we can only see invisible winds and blowing from many directions, indistinguishable results for bitcoin

Bitcoin might be in heavy progress and possibly a legal tender by that time. Looking at how bitcoin had improve even in just 10 years after birth, so how much more 100 years from now. It's price will be in its highest peak if volatility will stay.

But one thing i'm certain, i don't think we still exist by that time. People just get old and then gone. But bitcoin and its blockchain will have its long way to go and a brighter that awaits for it.

100 years is a long time. It's hard to say if there even be life on Earth in 100 years. To give you a perspective 100 years from now people were barely able to fly. There was almost no commercial airlines and most of the traveling was done by trains and ships. Now we have electric cars and supersonic jets and millionaires are sending cars into space :D

I feel like there's not going to be a normal currency in 100 years it's all going to be electronic. Fiat money will be dead and you'll be able to see cash in museums. Everybody will use electronic currencies and crypto but will Bitcoin be good enough for that period is hard to say. Bitcoin will probably be what a a steam powered ship would be for us now.

Bitcoin should be the rarest digital asset that's tradable with real life items as long as governments and businesses accepts Bitcoin. There are NFTs that are the rarest blockchain but it cannot be used like a currency like Bitcoin.

That's right why are we talking about what will happen to Bitcoin in the next 100 years, because we're not all going to live that long. All the possibilities
that you describe where all will use electronics are very likely to occur, because now slowly all things are starting to move into electronics, so especially
the next 100 years it will be much more sophisticated. But what happened to Bitcoin no one knows, I also don't want to think that far. I prefer to think
about things that are not too far away, for example by predicting the price of Bitcoin 3 years into the future, it may be much more realistic.

Will the Bitcoin network die?

First, it is impossible because everything that is already on the blockchain will forever be on the internet and there is no authority that can remove it, 100 years later maybe all of us in this era will no longer exist, but you know there will always be a better new generation later . if you think in the future crypto will not evolve or even die. I actually think otherwise, because digital developments will always evolve and new generations will always have a much more modern and digital mindset.

Bitcoin is still very new, many predict that bitcoin will become a digital asset that will rule the world and become a more revolutionary and more modern means of payment. Mass adoption is possible and of course there will be a Bitcoin competitor coming who knows when. What is certain is that digital transactions will develop messages in the future. technology will be more sophisticated than today.

100 years is too long. First think about 10 years to be more practical.
10 years later, Bitcoin will surely be recognized by more countries.

One hundred years later, all bitcoins may be mined. Maybe everyone is paying for the daily consumption of Bitcoin. They no longer invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin will be used as digital currency.
As long as there is a network, the Bitcoin network will continue to exist, so the Bitcoin network will not die. After 100 years, there may be a brand new system to replace Bitcoin for payment.

For we are so hopeful about the future of Bitcoin. We can't witness all the happenings but I was hoping it could be legalized as a currency and accepted globally if ever it still exists.

Bitcoin will continue to make history and I know that despite all the negative thoughts we've heard, Bitcoin will still soar high and we are too lucky to be a part of its development and progress.

You are talking about a century gap and technology is advancing at such high pace that it's impossible to make any perfect speculations. The internet was developed in 1990's and now we are nearly 20 years ahead and now we can't imagine life without it.Bitcoin developed in 2009 was mere a joke for many and claimed to be bubble but now in just 12 years it is becoming mainstream and adopted as legal tender by many countries so we can't say what will happen after 100 years. The mining will be carried out for another 19 years so it is supposed to be there for that time period and network will remain the same with some miners addition or deduction. But if you say about 100 years I can't say anything.

It is a very long period to predict something more precisely. For now, Bitcoin adaptation is going on very nicely. Bitcoin is being accepted by various governments and we see it starting to be used in many places. But at some point, I think Bitcoin will start losing its popularity and maybe even be gone. But it's hard to say whether it'll happen in 100 years or less or more.

Honestly isn't it too far to predict in the next 100 Years? I never thought about what it would be like in the future. Maybe btc will indeed last but not that long. I mean the next 100 years is a very long time and the possibility of the crypto world can also be more developed or even dim. Personally, I can't predict it, it's just that I thought it would happen. So I think that while btc is currently developing well, it should be put to good use. Don't let us be disappointed because we didn't have time to use btc or other crypto well because the development of the crypto world in several countries is also getting better.

But what's the point of it we all know that we are all dead at that time the next generations would probably be the one who would be thinking about it,
And I think it is up to them on how things would go on.

I think a hundred years is too much already for you to make a prediction on what may happen on bitcoin that time. Even just for the next couple of years, considering the things happening in the market, it is very hard to jump into conclusion on what will be bitcoin's state next. Bitcoin might keep on striving and surviving and if fortunate enough, it might even become a permanent legal currency. For now, we can hope for the best but we should still be aware and mindful of what is happening in the market each day so that we may know what's the best thing to do to take profit.

In 100 years people will still be greedy. You will always strive for more power and money. I think that will never change and if bitcoin can take a position in this game it will go on and on. I don't know what life will be like 100 years from now. If the internet will still be there in 50 years, then bitcoin will probably still be there in 100 years. But everything around us will certainly have changed a lot…. especially the mining.

Yes, we certainly can't have an immortal body after a century and also not be sane enough to remember bitcoin in that moment, in addition, a few months with the bitcoin market will also be full of stories and unexpected developments, so talking about the story of a hundred years is just an element of laughter and idle talk.  if they act like that, much better if they will invest in riskier cryptos to see the result instantly if they will loose or not  .
for the bitcoin investor that has a patience they want to make sure that everything is safe and well planned .

Asking out about 100 years ahead is something that is really non sense to discussed about because no man on this world could tell on what would happen ahead. We can presume things but not on a

precise manner but at least we can see that there would be some possibilities to last up for that year basing of on how it do perform on the current year.It does have much potential imho.

Bitcoin network may not die in the next 100 years, but there will be new innovations that can compete with Bitcoin in the future because no one knows today's young generation can become a scientist who is able to create new, more modern innovations.

It:s honestly hard to predict but I would love to see things positively. I believe that Bitcoin could still reach more milestones and it will be known in more countries because of its value and importance. The next generations would inherit it and they will have an advantage since they will be living in technology-adapted days and it will be easy for them to deal with Bitcoin.

I have to add one more thing: a statistic says that every currency has a lifespan of 37 years. For example, the euro has been around since the year 2000 and do the math in theory ... 2 currency changes by then, or 2 digital currency revolutions. And i think there should be no limit to the amount of any currency.

I hope so but we can't assure everything as 100 years of existence had something to think about huge changes may happen on the market or there are other innovations that may happen. I know that we are all in wild guessing knowing that we can surely witness what really be going to happen in the future. However, we are still optimistic about its future and that can help to boost the market even to stay more years and the adoption continues.

100 years for bitcoin might be too far to predict things. Let's just say bitcoin will be fully adopted as a currency or maybe replaced by something better. We can't stop that as more digital coins will emerge soon but one thing for sure the bitcoin history will not be forgotten.

Even if new digital currencies will replace the whole crypto market, it will always be a copy from bitcoin or any other potential altcoins. People will change so definitely they will also have different picks for crypto.

For now, I don't bother myself thinking about what will happen in the next 100 years, it gives you a headache, the best thing you can do is to think about how you can accumulate more BTC into your portfolio so that in the following years you will able to get profit, not on the next 100 year.
Nevertheless, as I am thinking my prediction is the same as the BTC price, it is unpredictable.

@RainbowKun Your viewpoint about Bitcoin after 100 years is explained in a superb way. Even I feel somewhat the same way. The price of Bitcoin would rise and fall in the time to come. I believe that Bitcoin would be existing after 100 years too but unfortunately we would not be living till then to see what actually will happen.

I believe in the power of Bitcoin, just like finding a girlfriend. Even if the girlfriend I'm looking for in the future is an Oscar queen, I won't be surprised.

well for sure in the future, 100 years from now I will die and do not exist in the world. But this is different with Bitcoin, 100 years from now I think Bitcoin still exist, more popular, and become human necessaries like our money now. Also bitcoin will be known by all the people in the world and become more familiar.
This is really my thoughts and I just hope bitcoin will be more known by people day by day and the price will surprise the market and achieve new ATH in this month or following months.

I don't care about bitcoin in the next 100 years because I won't know and feel it because maybe I'm not on this earth anymore, although I hope bitcoin will still be okay and maybe my grandchildren will feel the existence of bitcoin in the next 100 years .
I only hope that in the next 10 years bitcoin will become more popular and acceptable in all countries so that I can still enjoy its benefits as long as I am alive and can also be used as a legal transaction tool.

I think cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are expected to last for 100 years. However, like the Tulip flower phenomenon centuries ago in the Netherlands, Bitcoin will be meaningless in the future, aka collapse with a high price causing financial markets to crash, That is if we cannot manage digital assets. Therefore, we as Crypto depositors, must be able to instill long-term principles without panic and stay away from bad news (No need to listen to bad news). And it's true you think, we save bitcoins for us and the future..

In my opinion it is hard to predict the future of some things, directions sometimes even in 20 years or so. Because our society is developing so rapidly and historical events appear so dinamic even in short periods of time. What will be in 100 years we less likely will see, unless only our children or our grandchildren will. And it may be quite another world comparing with that we used to see nowadays. But I think it will be more digital and computerized world, at least some part of our society and planet. And there is a chance for Bitcoin to be in it in 100 years.

Imagine someone asking in 1921 "what do you think will happen to electricity in 100 years?"... no matter how visionary one may have been back then, chances are they would have grossly underestimated the extent of technological evolution we have seen that followed (the main one being computing, followed by network computing, i.e. the internet, now crypto).

what will happen to Bitcoin in the next 100 years? My prediction is that Bitcoin will be the most expensive asset and the world's most interested people, far more than gold. buy Bitcoin now for the long term then you will enjoy a large retirement fund ;D
Lol, I think it would be more objective to predict in 5-10 years...  ::) 100 years is unlikely we will live to see what miracles will happen to bitcoin, and I agree, need to accumulate. Accumulate and soak in bitcoin to earn a retirement or retire without having to work. This is certainly something that I think about time to time and certainly raises and important question, how long will be bitcoin be around.  Bitcoin was first, and "first mover" often does have a very big advantage above others that come after it because of that fact.  Where will bitcoin be in 100 years certainly is a difficult question to answer.  I think bitcoin will either be around and very strong or get replaced by a superior coin.  Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I don't really think about it because 100 years is still very far and at that moment i already dead also. Im more focused to see what happens to bitcoin in 5 or 10 years from now, what i think about the future of bitcoin is there so many country will follow the step of el salvador to adopted bitcoin as a legal transaction in that country and about the price i think at that time the price of bitcoin is already reach more than $1M.

Title: Re: What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years?

I can only predict according to my view, where bitcoin can later be used as a legal tender in many countries, although fiat may still be used, considering that until now the development of bitcoin is increasingly known to people and recognized as a potential investment tool in the future, but we will never know for sure in the future
it is clear that it is difficult to predict the future for the existence of bitcoin, especially when the time is very far away, namely 100 years, while for the future 10 years it may also be difficult to predict.

if bitcoin is going to be a very profitable investment it's definitely possible and many countries will adopt it as a legal transaction other than their own fiat currency it's likely to be the same as $US. but maybe it will not be able to replace fiat because it is clear that its use is very different, but mutual support is certainly very possible.

it's more realistic, my friend, don't go too far in making plans, at least until you can enjoy your plans in old age because for the next 100 years I'm not sure you can enjoy your results

I think bitcoin will be around in a 100 years. Gold has been around for thousands of years and fiat money has been around for nearly a century. Bitcoin will be here as long as it survives regulations or any unforeseen technical issues.
things like this cannot be compared.
for the next 100 years it will be a very long time even I think everything in this forum is now gone, the speculation is too far, try to think realistically lest in 100 years we are not necessarily still around and still holding bitcoin at that time.
but if it's true we are the lucky ones right now because we have bitcoin even though we don't feel it in the next 100 years :)

Definitely, a lot of us are already gone, so it is hard to speculate for the next 100 years. Maybe make it at least 20 or 30 years from now. Because more than likely, in that long period, somebody already invented a more sophisticated technology that will possibly make bitcoin as obsolete. Who knows? That's a long way to go and technology is developing in fast pace. Just enjoy the moment right now while we still have bitcoin and take that as  good opportunity to maximize our potential profits.

i can't find a good reason for this forum to be closed, this forum will continue to exist for the next 100 years.

IThat's my point. What do you think of Bitcoin 100 years later?
(wait a minute, i'm going to the next 100 years using a time machine "lol") Bitcoin will continue to be traded and its value continues to increase.

It's hard to predict bitcoin's explosive trend in the next 100 years, that's too far-fetched. But to address the question bitcoin is over 10 years old and we have an ATH at 65k which means (ignoring friction) in 100 years that would be 65k * 10 :)) That might be worth , given the range of changes in regulation, acceptance, payment, NTFPs, etc., it is difficult to predict those changes. Bitcoin will change itself and adapt to the environment there.

But given a wild answer , Either Bitcoin is the worldwide currency ? or Bitcoin already died .

between those 2 is what will surely happen.

it's true as you said, it all depends on the market, if the market is still stable even more advanced than now, most likely bitcoin in the next 100 years will develop, bitcoin has been held by people for more than 10 years, maybe if we predict bitcoin will be more advanced, and the value of bitcoin is still there, for sure we can't enjoy it anymore, because it's not until 50 years from now that everything in this forum will die..

I guess that's too long for long-term speculation. it would be more realistic to talk about 5-10 years in the future with the development of bitcoin and blockchain. 100 years, I'm afraid I won't be able to enjoy that momentum.

because of the current popularity, we can see more and more crypto adoption in the market. more and more people are familiar with blockchain. and this will be something very meaningful for the acceptance and development of the bitcoin market in the future.

100 years is too far away, how about we change it to 10 years, because it makes more sense to discuss and I personally believe that Bitcoin in the next 10 years will become one of the legal currencies to use as transactions, so of course it will make easier for us to transact between countries quickly and I'm sure if the price of Bitcoin will definitely increase very high too, then my prediction if the price of Bitcoin in the next 10 years will reach at least $ 500k, so of course you can still get a big profit from investing in Bitcoin right now and hold Bitcoin for the long term.

Yes that's right, 100 years is a long time and I make sure all the members here are dead, the development of technology is so fast that what we think is best for now becomes a story in the future.

After 100 years the price of today will never happen again. Massive adoption is very possible because the world now is entering into technology that can make almost everything fast and so convenient. It is also possible to see Bitcoin as nothing excitement anymore because the government regulate Bitcoin.

Yes, 100 years is too long compared to our personal lives. Basically, we will not live more than 100 years later. But 100 years is really short for human civilization. The reason why I wrote the prediction 100 years later is that we hope that each of us will think from the perspective of human civilization. The evolution of human civilization, the changes in the history of human currency. Now Bitcoin is reshaping the human currency system, let us return to a more open, equal, and free currency order.

After 100 years, there may be no such trading medium as currency. At that time, it is possible to enter your fingerprint, voice, iris DNA from birth, bind to the credit system, and connect the world's databases to a unified network, and you can find it anywhere you go. Mobile phones disappear, desktop notebooks and the like have long since become history, communication tools and computers are all bound to the ICard card, just like Iron Man holographic automatic information. Cool.

Yes I agree with you.  Changes in the world can not be predicted with 100% correct.  The success of something has its limits and there is a period of dim.  For the next 100 years bitcoin could be lost in the circulation of the internet.  And there will be others that are more advanced than bitcoin.  I can't be sure of that either.  Let the world see it.
As the world is now on its phase for digital technology and this blockchain will be the worlds's future connecting everything around the globe so bitcoin as the most leading coin will still be the king of all coins in crypto since he is the pillars of crypto currency and possibly after 100 years and up bitcoin will be the universal currency.

IThat's my point. What do you think of Bitcoin 100 years later? Do you think Bitcoin will die in 100 years?
i  don't know if all our answers are worth it because we knew that we are surely dead that time.

but there are only 2 thing that surely happen , either Bitcoin will be dead by then or bitcoin will be the currency world will be using.

maybe that time there will be a single coin that matters in all countries and that is bitcoin because the design of this currency is not for the  past neither in present but for the future.

am not sure if bitcoin will survive that long , because there will be surely another currency that will make its way to the top as there are many issues bitcoin network is facing and if all of those leakage will be covered by a new coin then what will hinder to break bitcoin position and bring this once great coin to the lowering position.

when it comes to bitcoin, maybe it doesn't exist or it will become the digital currency of the future as you say. but because the time in question is too far away, so it's hard to imagine. because all those currently still playing crypto may be gone, and there is already a replacement for a new one. is it not possible there will be a new replacement of bitcoin? all of them can not analyze precisely, but it is true that the purpose of bitcoin is the digital money of the future.
but whether it can be realized or not only time will determine.

we can't predict what happens for the next 100 years whether bitcoin will still exist in that time period, but I don't dare to say yes to bitcoin's survival in that time, considering 100 years is not a short time, we just can predict the future without knowing what will happen after such a long time, we may no longer be there for such a long time
it's true as you said comrade, we can't predict bitcoin in 100 years, because that's a very long time, and it's certain that all of us in this forum will surely die, but if we look at bitcoin's journey, it's most likely for posterity we can still enjoy bitcoin..

@RainbowKun Your viewpoint about Bitcoin after 100 years is explained in a superb way. Even I feel somewhat the same way. The price of Bitcoin would rise and fall in the time to come. I believe that Bitcoin would be existing after 100 years too but unfortunately we would not be living till then to see what actually will happen.
why can you be so sure in making an argument? is it because now bitcoin is still the king of coins and the volatility is good so you can be sure that bitcoin will get to the next 100 years??
I think you are too confident about this because basically it is true some time ago someone said that btc mining will run out until the year 2140 which means 120 years after the current time but. during that time many possibilities will happen and i can still be sure for the next few years btc will still get very good attention but the times will be more advanced and there may be other competitors who can get more attention in the future.

We can only say with certainty that in a hundred years everything will change very much. Including cryptocurrency, if it still exists by that time. Bitcoin will probably no longer be in such a form as it is now. It is impossible to even say what the cryptocurrency will be like by that time. We see how quickly it continues to develop. New directions are emerging that we did not even know about. So for now, we will be watching this market and working on it. From a practical point of view, it makes no sense to think so far. After all, we will be gone by that time.

If there's a continuous positive remarks for bitcoin in the next ten years or so, we will be able to see or at the least expect that it can persist for hundreds of years but it's a challenge because there's a lot of innovations and there might come an invention that will totally replace bitcoin if not totally make it obsolete but given that bitcoin is an investment tool, I think that it's close to not happening.

None is sure about on this. A new generation of users will be the one to take it further. Even now we can see everything got a digital usage. Maybe with the next generation things can go even strong with the development and creative innovation. The usage of bitcoin will continue unlike the generation change. Only thing required is the transfer of holdings, because if the holdings go unused the total supply and the available supply gets disturbed.

We obviously see that Bitcoin price and adoptions keep growing and spreading but can't be sure how it does in a couple of years from now. Only we just hope that more countries will give their support, not banning, or else, it ends its journey.
But anyway, we can't surely have witnessed the things that will happen 100 years from now, the future of Bitcoin will lie in the hands of the next generations, we don't know if they could still adopt it or make other genius creations.

I don't even think speculating what will happen to bitcoin in the next 100 years is important.
We won't see that happening anymore. Why not make it like another 10 years, at least it is worth discussing because a lot of us are still here.
There will always be new innovations. And we don't even know if btc will still exist at that time or already obsolete.
So it is not really worth predicting what will happen for the next 100 yrs.

what will happen to Bitcoin in the next 100 years? My prediction is that Bitcoin will be the most expensive asset and the world's most interested people, far more than gold. buy Bitcoin now for the long term then you will enjoy a large retirement fund ;D
I can't agreeless, bitcoin has been around for over a decade now and it's already more expensive than gold, the only milestone it just needs to cross now is the marketcap of gold which we are very far off right now but it's achievable, 100 years from now most of us would probably be dead, but I believe by then bitcoin would probably be priced around over $500k+ and will have a much larger marketcap than even gold.

Well, even though there will be competition in bitcoin with others, I personally still believe that bitcoin is stronger and remains in its popularity.   it's up to people or individuals around that period to adopt or choose whichever project suit them for their personal purposes because human lives are in era or phases.

Bitcoin can only become less and less and cannot be issued, which means that many coins will disappear with the sudden death of some people.
If the currency price reaches a high level, will you give your private key to others casually?
If the price of Bitcoin becomes very high in 100 years, then it has nothing to do with us.
If you can afford it, leave Bitcoin to future generations. this is a good idea.

As long as the earth’s civilization is still there, Bitcoin will exist in 100 years. The cost of Bitcoin mining will not let Bitcoin disappear out of thin air. I have hope for Bitcoin, and I believe it will not be easily defeated by other coins. I have seen many people say that they want to hold Bitcoin for 100 years. The probability is that it will be left to his offspring. However, whether his offspring can be patient and whether they can hold Bitcoin is still a question.

I think bitcoin will be around in a 100 years. Gold has been around for thousands of years and fiat money has been around for nearly a century. Bitcoin will be here as long as it survives regulations or any unforeseen technical issues.
If Bitcoin were to last as long as gold and paper money, then Bitcoin would be recognized as the most acceptable currency in the world. But if Bitcoin is imagined in the next 100 years, it is the most in the world It can be said for sure that it will be recognized as an acceptable currency.

100 years,  let's imagine...

As it is the only reference that I can give you in relation to bitcoin is to mention what happened with several discoveries of 100 years ago in the world of physics and that today some are a fundamental part of our technology, perhaps the most popular GPS, everything that the theory of relativity has meant, incredible things to understand even today they were just a theory, today they are a reality.

Perhaps they are opposite extremes but with something in common, only a few understood it and in those years many did not see its practical application, so bitcoin can be in 100 years working, or being the basis of several emerging or influential technologies.

You have to allow yourself many things in this comparison, the academic parameters and the characters involved, but who would have imagined that black holes are real and that gravitational waves can be measured, so 100 years later they are a reality, bitcoin He has it easier, so much so that it is not necessary to leave this world to prove it in 100 years.

even if bitcoin within that period of time we can still say it survives but we are not sure whether bitcoin miners are still involved in it, because that time period is not short and everything can change especially this is a modern era and many more businesses will emerge -other businesses that keep popping up to the surface of the business world

What is happening with bitcoin now is certainly unthinkable 10 years ago, technology is running fast and 100 years is a long time that will make a lot of big changes. Bitcoin conditions are difficult to predict even the next 10 years.

The evolution of human civilization is based on a hundred years, just like the development of physics. Every hundred years, only a few masters of physics who truly change the destiny of mankind and push mankind forward may be produced. And Bitcoin is our century-old achievement. I firmly believe that 100 years later, Bitcoin will continue to exist, and the entire human civilization is built around Bitcoin. This is the trend of the times.

It is not possible to say anything accurately in cryptocurrency. The same type of inch market is changing all the time. We see that the price of Bitcoin was much lower in 2018 but in 2021 Bitcoin has increased a lot.So it is not possible for any party to say exactly what happens in this bitcoin market. As the days go by, Bitcoin will become more popular and the price will also increase a lot. But it is difficult to say where Bitcoin will go after 100 years

In a 100 years, BTC halving will stop. At around year 2140, the last BTC block will be mined and no one knows what will really happen after that. However, for me personally, BTC will be here fore centuries to come. It is one of the revolutionary technology that could help the future humanity in helping the dying earth. In a century, its price will be drastically different from today. I believe a Million isn't enough for a prediction but it won't be less than hundred thousands.

100 years is a really long time, that's exactly 10 centuries away. I like to think Bitcoin will be 10 times better and fulfilled that it is now. About what the market would look like, I don't think anyone can really predict what it would look like.

This is why I use the 100-year time limit. Because the evolution of human civilization is based on at least a hundred years. Hundred years are very long for me and our human beings, but for human civilization, it is not long.

It's hard to predict what will happen to BitcoinBTC in 100 years. Bitcoin might be totally collapsed and be forgotten in 100 years. Anything that happens is just for a good likely outcome. One way or another the bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will be the major game changers that crypto enthusiasts believe they are.

in the next 100 years, i guess Bitcoin will still remain as top 1 among other coins. Our technology is fastly moving and many more people will patronize digital currencies because of its good store of value. Many will be interested about cryptocurrencies.

A hundred years from now, I do think that BTC may still reign as the number one cryptocurrency but there are certain indicators that could prove otherwise.

Remember that BTC is powered through the blockchain technology. Since it has been previously mentioned and estimated that by the year 2030 all BTCs would be mined, then expect its price to skyrocket further. That is why, lots of people are inclined in HODLing for long-term investment, taking advantage of its high volatility.

As I just mentioned, if assuming that BTC survives a hundred years more (assuming that countries still accept BTC, etc.), then it could still be the number 1 cryptocurrency.

Perhaps a hundred years later, the volatility of Bitcoin has stabilized, and everyone is using Bitcoin for daily payments.
It is also possible that major countries have jointly banned Bitcoin, preventing everyone from using Bitcoin normally. No one holds Bitcoin. This is something you don't want to see.

In my opinion, a 100 years is a really long time from now, but from projections, i believe that in a 100years time... The value of bitcoin will become stable as all the 21million minaeable bitcoin will have been mined and it will no longer be affected by speculation. By then, the amount of BTC in circulation will be reduced.

By then, it may probably have been accepted and the original intention Nakamoto had for it to be used as a currency might be in play. Maybe some of us will be alive to see it, maybe not.

Yes, I still believe that 100 years later, Bitcoin is still the number one cryptocurrency. And mankind has built a brand new civilization around Bitcoin. This civilization is more advanced, fairer, more transparent, freer, and more equal. This civilization is based on the idea of Bitcoin. There is no longer corruption in society, but everyone is equal.

I never thought until 100 years later. I just think for now, bitcoin is the best investment. Even when the stock market crashes, the bitcoin market goes up. Currently the supply of bitcoin is only 21 million, this makes me sure that the price of bitcoin will always rise because more and more people will store bitcoin as digital gold.

Citi noted that Bitcoin's future is still very uncertain, but that it's on the cusp of mainstream acceptance. The institutional investor interest is driving broad interest in the cryptocurrency, but issues over custody, security, and capital efficiency are still headwinds for the digital asset, noted Citi.

100 years is such a long year ahead, i think i will be dead by that time though lol. Seeing how things or world develop to this moment, the development of technology and such, i think that there will be a lot of things beyond our imagination 100 years later. Maybe there's no more money, since everything is digital already, thus maybe cryptocurrency is so common, used as a daily life transaction method. However, maybe technology develops even further, people are using chips like we see in the movie lol, we don't need cryptocurrency or such anymore, maybe everything will be controlled and centralized by the government, which of course won't be bitcoin. So, i don't think bitcoin will still exist. Maybe it will still exist, but not being used or favored by many people like now again, since there will be many new things and technologies.

First of all, 100 years is a really long time period to be able to predict correctly. Everything can happen but I'd like to share my opinion too. In 100 years, I think that Bitcoin may not even still exist. Because this is the cryptocurrency market and everything is possible. For now, Bitcoin is the number one and it doesn't seem like it will ever change for many people. But they should prepare themselves for that probability also.

100 years from now, imagine the current time, the popularity and use of Bitcoin has increased a lot more than before. When the price of Bitcoin increased so much than before, Then imagine where Bitcoin could be 100 years later.

In the next 100 years, Bitcoin will be increasingly popular and more and more used by many agencies and countries. And Bitcointalk will be a legendary forum that discusses Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies, And our children and grandchildren will see the posts we make now.
And they will also continue to discuss Bitcoin, and maybe at that time a new technology will emerge in this Crypto whose technology has a high advantage over the existing now.

The next hundred years will be a new century. Bitcoin has proved to be the most disruptive technology in the last twelve years. We speculate bitcoin would reach a $100,000 in the next ten years, imagine what it could become in a hundred years.  If the planet isn't invaded by aliens or hijacked by telsa robots, just kidding btw. I think Bitcoin would be that generation currency.

No one can say per say or make an on-point speculation as its certain that we all will already be dead at the time. So basically, I think it's just of two ways which is either it's dead and scrapped or be successful in a massive ways. But to my perspection, I think technology is the future so as Bitcoin.

With time we can experience evolution of the market happening with accordance to the development. This is where we need to think whether the bitcoin will survive after 100 years or it is the evolution for the ongoing generation.

When people got the access to use fiat in the digital format everyone found it to be more user friendly. People who aren't much into technology felt it hard, but later started to get adopted to it. Maybe the present generation will take a little time and get adopted to the cryptocurrency usage. When we think of such a larger time period it always stands as a question.

There are only two things that bitcoin could be in 100 years, first is bitcoin can be already accepted all over the world and all of the people already knows about cryptocurrency or a dead. Hoping that the first one will happen in the future, even though we know that we cannot reach that 100 years in the future,  I am still hoping that the next generation will explore cryptocurrency as well.
nobody will ever know..

speculative one is allowed though but giving a lot of possibility...  a lot of if's cand be simulated.
1. if internet goes down completely around the world for long time... bitcoin wont be exist, or if internet being replaced by a new thing..

2. if there is another invention more than bitcoin.

and many more if's in combination ... its really a hard guessing / prediction.

i wont say anything but bitcoin still has a lot of potential to grow and a lot of possibility for bitcoin to disappear too at once.

You are right , maybe in the next 100 years bitcoin will be much better than today . But I can not think that far .. Because it could be that bitcoin will be destroyed and there is no substitute to continue it. But maybe there is a better btc-like system.

I just laugh when I see the questions like this which are so what will Bitcoin be like in about hundred years or more. We will not be here to see if our predictions are right or wrong about Bitcoin because no one here is gonna live hundred years from today.

The next 100 years is a very long time, for the next 10 years there will be many changes. The world has intense competition and many great people have incredible imaginations to compete with bitcoin under a much different name and using a different system than before.
so for the next 100 years it's really very difficult to predict, afraid that bitcoin will sink or survive, of course it's old and many people will start ignoring it or people will switch to other systems that are more productive and effective in using them.

We cant even predict on whats the weather on tomorrow on 100% accurate manner. How much more on asking out on what would happen to Bitcoin in 100 years?
Basing on what we do see currently on Bitcoin then we could somewhat say that it would reach out those years if the demand would really continue
then most likely you would really say that it could really last up to those years but we dont know if there would be something new that would
overtake bitcoin into those years. Why we do really need to talk about 100 years ahead?

Most expensive bitcoin for now had roamed in the bitter market too.It had many criticism by the people. Some had really down payed the bitcoin and make others not to inverse in the past.

Nobody knows what will happen to Bitcoin and decentralized cryptocurrency over the next hundred years. I am still confident in the blockchain technology and in digital currency in general, which is indeed generally more efficient than the traditional one and provides people with more convenience. In many respects, the question of the existence of a cryptocurrency will depend on the degree of its acceptance by the majority of the population and the final attitude towards it on the part of states and their governments.
In any case, we will no longer know the answer to this question.

I think, after 100 years later we will use only electric money, there will be no paper money anywhere. Bitcoin teaches us about the concept of using electric money, maybe people will never forget this and they will adopt Bitcoin widely. This is my own notion, I don't know the future, everything can happen. people can adopt the existing ones or they can build the better ones, but paper money will be gone it is confirmed.
