Title: How to get rid of useless tokens
Post by: Tamedbeast on April 25, 2022, 05:48:37 AM
Is there any way to stop unwanted tokens deposits in my wallet? I have used two different types of crypto wallets and I keep getting tokens I know nothing about, I read that those tokens are scammers trap and moreover I never worked for it.

Once scammers have obtained the information about your public address, nothing can prevent them from sending you whatever they want. Just do not touch unknown tokens, never try to sell them, swap them or send them. You will likely be scammed executing a malicious smart contract if you try to interact with these malicious coins. If you are worried about scammers spamming your address, you can create a new one that scammers will have a hard time finding out about. Share your new address with those only who you fully trust that they won't scam you. Although that won't completely protect you from spam, it at least temporarily minimizes its amount. Another solution would be to stop using a hotbed of scammers such as Ethereum for good and focus on less "smart" cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, which don't allow for sophisticated ways of scamming users through complexities of turing-complete languages.

I am used to getting random fake tokens in my wallet  ;D, it can be annoying at times but there is nothing you can do about it, leave those tokens as they are and remove them from the display of your wallet's dashboard, even if you abandon such wallet for another you will still be sent those fake tokens.

just like what witcher_sense said, it would be best to just ignore them. posting your public address on forums, social media, etc... would increase the chance of you experiencing the same thing. it would be best if you refrain from doing that. just curious, what wallets were you using?

Use a good hardware wallet which is the best you can use for altcoins, online altcoins wallets are susceptible to phishing attacker and hacker's penetration. After you create another wallet, send your coins to the another wallet and be careful of any offers which may again lead to scammers sending you tokens to be able to hack your wallet.

You can't stop anyone who send you random tokens on your wallet, but you could hide/blacklist those unwanted tokens... however it depends on the wallet itself. Some wallet do have that features and some wallet don't. Did you ever write your address in anywhere e.g. telegram, twitter etc? This could be the case since you're publicity your own address and anyone think the address still got controlled by you.

Strange, my own part of the story is different, I have a separate wallet for holding coins and tokens and I have never share my wallet address with anyone, the first time I made a transaction from the wallet to binance exchange I got a free token which is a scam token, this trick is getting interesting because once I made any transaction I will get a scam token deposited in that wallet.

Not that you are lucky to receive a bunch of shitcoins. It was indeed bothering us but we can't rid these shitcoins out from our wallet nor stop an unknown person to send you. You'd rather ignore them, that was the best thing to do rather than bothering yourself by thinking about how to stop and eliminate them. A lot of people have this experience also, we could think this become usual, especially you are joining airdrops before, in many cases, this becomes a reason why you keep receiving useless coins.

Scammers are obvious tracking exchanges addresses so when you interacted with that address, they obviously got yours so that's how you ended up getting scam tokens.   I don't think that is possible to avoid getting unwanted shitokens as long as you are into altcoins so might as well get used to it as nothing you can do about it.

Using hardware wallet won't save you from getting unwanted scam/shittokens.

The best try would be stopping your address to be posted publicly. Most of the people join a lot of airdrops and sadly most of these airdrops are scam. They wont pay you anything but will collect your address and later make you a target. I hope you got the point I'm trying to make here.

Do you mean those coming from the Binance chain I'm getting 2 to 5 of this every week and its not even a cause of concern as long as you're not adding their contract address to your wallet it will not show up, or if you can afford to spend you can send these useless tokens to a spare wallet while the transaction fee is still low, it will be annoying in the future or it might cause confusion.

One can not stop receiving such unwanted coins in the wallet. Most of us receive such coins in our wallets. The important thing is we should not try to swap or sell such coins that are not in our knowledge if we do so we can probably lose our other coins as well so better to ignore such coins whether they show value.

Many coins of this kind are sent for free in the wallet, the coins are not valuable for us to exchange, so don't think this kind of coin has an exchange rate in the market, we don't know for sure what their purpose is to send the tokens to our wallet, because if you say fraud not all coins are the sent has that concept, we often refer to these coins as shitkoins that don't have any upgrades going forward, so it's better to ignore and not do anything that harms us

I don't think you can stop anyone from sending you fake tokens that enter your wallet, but what you need to do is ignore the token without clicking and following the prompts of the token link, that way your wallet will most likely be safe from hackers, if you are not comfortable with the incoming tokens you can hide/blacklist the tokens you don't want.

I guess you can't stop someone from sending you unwanted tokens and maybe I can speak for others as well that we have received some shit tokens to our wallet without our knowledge. And if this is a scam token, usually it will be flag so that no one will fall for the trick. But in cases that they are not, then all you can do is to simply ignore. You have the responsibility to know where all your tokens are coming from. If it is from someone you don't know then you don't need to act on it.

You can’t do anything about it, just ignore it or have a new wallet and don’t share any details of that wallet to anyone. You can have your public and private wallet as much as you want, just mind the fees of the transactions. If you don’t want to pay for the fees, better to ignore it and never try to make any transactions with that scam tokens, they can hack your wallet once you attempt to sell it.

Yes exactly, it is very annoying to see lists of shit tokens in the wallet moreover they are fake and also scam tokens.
But so far, there is no chance to delete the tokens or even to prevent the scammers will not send the tokens anymore.  Because they will always try and wait for the owners to be traped on the tokens, thinking that the tokens are worthy and willing to sell, but those are exactly scams.

Totally agree. And we should not be trapped on the tokens themselves.
Just ignore them and let it be, consider that they were not in our wallets although it may be difficult because this really makes bad eye seeing

I also experienced the same thing as you, don't ever make a sale transaction for the token, you will be directed to their fraudulent site, if you make a balance in your wallet it can be drained by thieves.

Sell tokens in your wallet based on your work in the Bounty campaign, ignore the rest.

Once your public key or address goes anywhere public, you're never gonna be free from these scam tokens. The best you can do is to leave them as it is and remove them drom showing on your wallet page.

Do not post it publicly.
So the best thing to do is to abandon that wallet with scam tokens or unwanted tokens and then make a new one. Transfer your important assets from that wallet to the newly made wallet of yours.
And never post the address publicly so that marketers won't get a copy of your address for which they'll send those tokens in a batch along with other info that they've gathered.

It's annoying to have a collection of shittokens in wallets except empty wallets with no transaction history, but there's nothing you can do about shittokens other than ignore them, shittokens are locked for transfers except for successful one-on-one transaction approvals when swapping on pancakeswap and usually cutting high transaction fees , my friend once lost $15 only transaction fee for swap approval transaction on pancakeswap.

Not posting publicly or changing to a new wallet also doesn't solve it. There are blockchains scanners so you can't prevent them even if you try to hide it from the public. Scammers can take snapshots of addresses with balances and send them tokens.

Probably the best thing is to get a wallet that has a feature to hide tokens you don't want.

That is why you should limit yourself exposing you public address unless necessarily. You are not alone and we have experienced it too, but if that is unavoidable, you should just disregard the tokens, don't bother looking at them or if you wanna change address, it is also possible right? The is the best option and start new. I hope there could be a way to dissolve these tokens. Like for example what binace has, you can convert small different amounts of tokens than are not tradable due to minimum requirements, it can be converted to bnb which is one of the features I like the most in this exchange.

I had the same problem. Unfortunately, I have not found any solution and there is probably no one. I just opened one address where I keep my long term cryptocurrencies, and wherever I publicly give my address, I create a new one for this need.

The benefit of crypto is that, you could ignore stuff in your wallet and it would just be fine as it is. Not like some tokens in your wallet could pose a threat to you if you do nothing about it. Sure if you follow instructions on how to withdraw it or cash it out then it will take you to a place that will scam you, so you should be VERY CAREFUL. But if you just ignore it, and move on with your life then nothing will happen.

This is a bit weird for many people, because you do not see for example 100 chinese yuan on your bank account all of a sudden, you think "dude I never been to china in my life and never worked with any chinese, how did this get in here???" and try to find an answer to that right? Well in crypto you do not have to, and this is a brand new feeling to people. Just let it be, ignore it, and move on with your life.

Users will be receiving tokens in huge numbers. When we have known about those tokens as a trap, the right thing to do is ignore. This is not a new thing happening now, this is seen from the days of ICO. We know what we've transacted, so just use those tokens and not the unknown ones to avoid unwanted spending. I've seen this much on the myetherwallet.

even vitalin’s wallet got infested by all these shitcoins don’t get your hopes too high honestly in solving this thing because i guess it’s never gonna be solved, scammer will just spam their shitcoins in your wallet in effort of luring someone innocent into thinking that they got some sudden prizes meanwhile that’s just the trick made by these scammers for deceiving.
at this point you should just a wallet that has feature for ignoring all these scam coins otherwise I see no real solution for this to be honest.

There is nothing you can do to stop receiving those unwanted "airdrops". You probably posted your wallet address somewhere and they found it and now they are sending you random useless tokens that are indeed scammers trap. All you can do is just ignore those tokes and not touch it. Having those tokens in your wallet won't cause you any harm. Or you can move all your coins to a different wallet and make sure not to share the address publicly. Use one address from sharing publicly and another to keep it private.

Over the years that I have joined airdrops (lots of them) and bounty campaigns, I have amassed quite a lot of useless tokens. Either from scammed projects or those which I failed to monitor that switched to their own blockchains. Those tokens are just there sitting and useless crowding my portfolio. I guess you can do nothing about them but just mere souvenirs. Since then I have switched to other faucets of crypto and moved on.

Don't bother about it, just ignore them. Don't be curious and try to exchange them, you won't lose anything. Maybe you posted your wallet address somewhere, or participated in airdrop events for rewards and unknowingly became the target of scammers. This is quite common and it happens to most people, there have been a lot of warnings about this. So just ignore them, don't try to find a way to block them it will take time because it won't stop.

this seems to happen to a lot of people, myself included. well, the BSC wallet I have has a lot of obscure coins. I sent it to someone, and when I checked it on pancakeswap, it was pretty fantastic. Well, almost all coins have this, but when you try to sell it, it doesn't work. however, I assume that it is a scam coin, and it is. until now, I'd rather ignore coins that have such a type. other than that, there is no way to stop this if we continue to expose our wallet addresses. So, the best option is to ignore it.

This is a results of trying to execute trade or using DEX to swap BSC token, its common with Binance Smart Chain nothing can be done about it. i will suggest you to use Trustwallet maybe you won't see any useless token less until you scan your wallet through bscscan before such token will be seen inside but do not be afraid also don't try to swap any of those token as it is a trap for you.

There's no way to stop that useless token deposit because everyone else experiences the same thing when it comes to making transactions on the BSC network, because I also experienced this kind of thing which I basically really didn't want so I could just ignore it without having to care though looks a little annoying.

That is the disadvantage of the ethereum blockchain scammers can easily interact with users using the smart contract, one hardly sees this on the Bitcoin blockchain. You can't create another wallet address and try as much as possible to keep it private if you are a bounty hunter your ethereum address can easily be gotten from a bounty spreadsheet when scammers get access to your information they will use it to spam your wallet with malicious tokens all in attempt to scam you.

Personally, when I receive such tokens that are worth nothing. I just forget about them and take them easy. And for the future, I want to warn everyone that the wallet is completely safe. You should always check your wallet. And if new useless tokens come to you again. Then you just need to ignore these tokens and not look for opportunities to sell them. Because you can put your wallet at risk.

No difference with MEW. Trust Wallet has the same problem just when you added one token to your list then it will be like a wave of different coins being added to you. Millions in amount, will make you ask yourself if there is value and try to do anything to sell it. Look for an exchange, even the bottom ranking exchange, and figure out how to send it there and worse, pay the fees.
That's how they do it, then your account will succumb to darkness.
If it's possible, create a new one, and send all the important coins even if it means spending.

There's no way to stop it since it was randomly transferred into your public address. the only thing that you can do to create a safe wallet that rarely published. this may help you to avoid that but this will never work forever. It's just working temporary until your transactions will be known by scammers and they will be sending you another scam token again.

Yeah i know that but that will never worked. If you are actively doing transactions and your tx will be recorded by blockchain.

Shitcoins are mostly scammed tokens, though not all of them. One of the best way to get rid of useless tokens is by studying the road map of the project, to check whether it's legit or not. The crypto space is becoming more insecure for traders presently because the amount of hackers coming in to invade people's wallet is annoying. This category of anonymous hackers have create fake sites and scam community to lured people into investing in their projects. They also run scammed airdrops where they would refer you to fake telegram bot, which will ask you to pay a certain amount of money to withdraw your airdrop. It's all scam because those tokens are just glitch in the space.

MEW has that feature and I think other wallets too. Posting it publicly will help to minimize and reduce the possibility that those spam tokens will be sent to you.
That new address that you didn't post publicly won't be added to their lists and records where they'll just send a blast of those tokens that they've seen publicly.

There is one thing I suspected why this happened to some members and that was they used that address to join airdrops, posted on social media, it was been exposed to the community. Of course, you'll be wondering how these coins are being sent to you, but you gonna wonder more because they have no value.

Quote

This seems to be the solution but fees are somewhat expensive, I can't imagine moving my $50 coin and paying for 10bucks. I'd rather not, I'm going to ignore the other coins. Well, we don't know if someday this will have some market value.

There is no way to get rid of it completely. I think the absolute best way to deal with this is to just leave it alone and Never click on a link you're not sure about, even if it appears to be from a legitimate source. If you hold tokens that you never planned to use, we recommend moving them to another account/wallet and re-transferring them when needed or you can transfer your tokens to an exchange and exchange them for other coins if you wish if they are of value.

You can't do anything about it and it's better to ignore those coins. I was curious how those coins detects your wallet and sends coins on that wallet, I tried to search the coins I received and the metamask warns me about it so I really think it is better to stay away on those coins that's the only thing you can do about it.

If possible try to move the rest of your assets to a new wallet, provided the calculated total gas fee is not that significant, though I heard that fees have been high recently.

By all means you have ignore these types of tokens. Try not to share your wallet public address on too many sites, but it is public so there is nothing you can actively do to stop this from happening.

I do wish that in future ethereum starts a method to block such tokens from coming in.

You have already received many suggestions. In fact, we have nothing to do with it. Whenever you publish your wallet address, scammers add your wallet address to their scam list. Then they will try to trap you by sending different types of shit tokens. If you want to avoid their trap, never try to sell or sent these shit tokens.

I think it's not too much of a problem when you know their evil intentions. Today, the crypto space is full of so many damn tokens that many newbies have reported that they have also lost money without understanding why. The main problem is the perception of the people using them, and we can completely upskill the basics to eliminate interest in all that shit, and IMO, having that background knowledge is pretty much harmless.

Yes, that's correct. We can't get rid of it, but we can avoid it by not paying any attention to the token.
Maybe that's why you should try to write every project you're in so you'll know if it's from a project you're already in or if it's a fake token.
Transferring your real tokens to another account/wallet is highly recommended because at least you can know what tokens have value in your wallet.
It's also to minimize your chances of being scammed.

There is no way for you to remove it. The only way for you to keep it or move your wallet. If you didn't wanna see scam token in your wallet again and you must regularly moving your asset into new wallet address that newly created to store your funds

The best try would be stopping your address to be posted publicly. Most of the people join a lot of airdrops and sadly most of these airdrops are scam. They wont pay you anything but will collect your address and later make you a target. I hope you got the point I'm trying to make here.
You are right and people can easily create a different wallet address for all these airdrops if they wish to participate in those airdrops to avoid exposing their primary wallet even though I have noticed that even with you partaking in any airdrops, some of them still manage to drop in your wallet but you can simply ignore them.

Most of the airdrops today are just a waste of time. Some of the tasks are just spamming on social media and letting you put your information which we don't know if they are selling to other people. But, some of them are sending us their token but it would take years to have a value based on my experienced.

All of those meaningless tokens were invented by scammers in order to defraud people; if you wanted to transact the coin, they would be able to obtain your information. So the best thing to do is to ignore those tokens in your wallet and always be sure of the token you want to sell or swap so that you don't make a mistake and swap that of fraudsters, because occasionally they will generate a token with certain values that may entice you to swap. Please continue to ignore such coins.

This is a matter of concern for everyone. But still there is nothing to do. You can simply avoid it. Scammers usually try to track wallets that contain large amounts of transactions or assets. Usually if you share your wallet address or join any kind of airdrop this type of action will result in scammers identifying you and they will try to cast their nets.

Just ignore them, if you try to do anything to those tokens then you are falling into the trap of those scammers and you run the risk of losing your coins.

I know that your wallet looks kind of ugly with those useless coins there but there is nothing to do, now if you happen to need to make a transaction maybe that would be a good time to move your coins to a new address, however once the address is used it becomes public and those scammers can send their coins to that new address again.

You can't get rid of tokens that go into your wallet, but you should ignore them because most likely the incoming tokens is one of the ways for hackers who want to hijack your wallet, therefore you should be careful with those free tokens, never open and follow the instructions of the token system, by ignoring it, your wallet is very safe from fraudsters.

It's unavoidable because possible hackers are sending it on purpose. They are trying to trick wallet owners to penetrate with their assets.
Better to stay away or don't dare to touch those spam tokens inside your wallet, being curious is good but to the point that you are willing to take part, that's really something to think before you act, or better not to deal with it and just treat it as nothing inside your wallet.

One way to protect your wallet and the assets inside it is not to engage with those
new or unrecognized tokens.

Usually this kind of coin will be sent when you get tokens from the bounty program, there are several tokens sent to my wallet, but out of curiosity I looked at the BSC scan, but these tokens are not listed on any exchange, so it's better to ignore tokens like this, because there is no benefit for us with the token and to avoid fraud, we better ignore it so that our swallow is safer

I'm not sure only those who paste their wallet addresses on social media get such. No one is exempted. I think these scammers get the addresses from the chain. We know how nothing is hidden when it comes to transactions on the blockchain. Anyone can view addresses. It makes it easy prey for scammers to copy these addresses and use for their criminality. Honestly, I wish wallet devs can implement a feature in settings that empowers users to turn on the ability of blocking unknown tokens through contract filtering the way we do with Truecaller app for spam calls.

I don't really think that you can do anything that you don't receive such tokens at all. In the end all data is on the blockchain including the public address of your wallet if you hare holding any token or have interacted with a contract or whatever. I would guess that the creators of such useless tokens are just exporting lists of wallet addresses that are holding certain tokens and then they bulk send their token to all those addresses. This is not happening that often anymore on the ETH chain because the fees are so high, which is probably the only positive effect of the high eth fees, but on the BSC chain i have also dozens of such tokens in my wallet. The best thing is to never interact with them at all.

MEW has that feature and I think other wallets too. Posting it publicly will help to minimize and reduce the possibility that those spam tokens will be sent to you.
That new address that you didn't post publicly won't be added to their lists and records where they'll just send a blast of those tokens that they've seen publicly.
Scammers can also update their list at anytime using those explorers so that still does not spare the new addresses you will create. The only way I think these new addresses cannot receive them is when it is generated from custodial wallets since these scam or shit tokens will never be supported.

Sometimes it's annoying if they keep on coming and that's why ignoring won't be enough but if you're used to it that's no problem. Just as said, if your wallet has a feature of hiding tokens, just do it so that you won't see those annoying names.

The only thing that you can do is to ignore it, don't trace where they come from, they can do this because of the very low fees in Binance chain the cost is small compared to people that will fall into this trap, I have one token where there are 50k or even more wallets that they've sent their token, scammers are good in making their project looks legit so always dig deep.
They will stop sending these shit tokens once Binance chain gas increases, so just ignore and only look on coins or tokens that you've invested or worked on.

This is one of the major problems today and most wallets are full of such tokens. This is especially true of individuals who use their wallet addresses in various Bounty Campaign, Telegram groups, and AirDrop. The vast majority of us get such coins in our wallets. The significant thing is we shouldn't attempt to trade or sell such coins that are not in our insight assuming we do so we can presumably lose our different coins also so better to disregard such coins.

The benefit to scammers from distributing these tokens is that if you try to withdraw these tokens or move them via their website, it will lead to losing your funds, so please be careful when interacting with any contract address. They also distribute these tokens to millions of targeted or random wallets addresses in order to defraud the largest number of victims and to increase the percentage of token holders in order to deceive people, so if you are surprised that there is a new token in your wallet, you should pay close attention, as this may be a trap from the traps of scammers.

Any transaction in this case will be comparable to the fact that you yourself publish your wallet address on a public page. After all, thanks to the blockchain, your address becomes known to everyone, including robots that collect addresses for such scam coin mailings.

No way to do that you cannot block tokens that are being sent to your wallet, you can ignore these tokens or get another wallet and leave that wallet, this is another scheme of scammers they sent you their tokens so you can check them out and lure you to check and invest but if you know how to look on a good project you will not fall to this kind of scheme.

Not because there are thousands of holders of these tokens you will trust the scammers will try to make the project looks good by having a huge number of holders, it's very deceptive so you have to dig deep, and based on my observation airdrops that are coming from an unknown source are scam tokens.

Maybe this is very difficult for us to prevent because our wallet address has been spread when following the project so that they easily send scamer tokens that we do not want, to avoid things that we do not want then never setuh the token let alone want to exchange it because later it will be easy to happen things that we do not want.
even if you don’t follow any campaign your address still gonna get some random scam tokens anyway it’s just ridiculous that these scam tokens are being created everyday
I think the scammers just send their newly created scam tokens randomly to any existing address out there regardless if there is any owner of the address or not, in short they are just doing some sort of gambling with this effort.

Is there any way to stop unwanted tokens deposits in my wallet? I have used two different types of crypto wallets and I keep getting tokens I know nothing about, I read that those tokens are scammers trap and moreover I never worked for it.
Usually this do happen on bep20 or binance related kind of transactions or using up swap sites based on experience on where you would really be getting those shitty tokens
would credit out into your wallet address but i would say that this isnt something that you should really be stressing out yourself for this one.If you arent doing something
with those coins then let it be and ignore it as long you dont act something in related to it then you should be fine.

It is because your wallet address is exposed and many scammers want to collect wallet addresses that are used then send a token that will be used to tempt people into selling it or transfer to another wallet. Best way to do is do not touch it at all or the most safe one is to never use that wallet again. I also have the same situation the same as yours where I also receive scam tokens but I didn't touch it and didn't have problem or issues at all.

That mostly happens once you lack privacy and you have posted your address publicly, so definitely its one way of scammers to get into the real contents of your wallet. So just ignore everything about them, useless tokens will forever be a burden for all of us. However, its good if you can create a new wallet, just make sure to keep your address not to share it publicly.

True and therefore there is no use in getting worried about those coins. In reality getting spammed with shit tokens should not be matter of concern, rather ignore them like you ignore trolls on social media.

The one who become curious and attempt to get more such coins will be suffering from losses designed to hunt their mode of search. Better forget and only track the coins you need to know.

Remember that there is nothing called free money and crypto is not a get-rich-quick scheme.

after your wallet address is known to scammers for token dusting attacks then it can't be avoided or eliminated they will continue to send you dusting tokens so if you're not careful you will be stuck for the transaction, usually the price estimate is fantastic, even people who get it will always be tempted to sell it . The method is that we always replace the wallet periodically to avoid our own negligence.

Since they sent this token using Binance Chain where the fee is very low you can create a new wallet and send all these tokens to your new spare wallet, if you have 10 useless tokens you will not even spend $5 so if you find these useless tokens annoying and misleading then be willing to spend for the transaction fee.

in essence we live in a digital world now, of course we can't stop anyone from sending random tokens to our wallets, in my opinion the first step to take is, we have to make a wallet that can really protect ourselves from things like that, sometimes we also make mistakes without us knowing it, we have published and have written an email address and then we share it on Twitter.

This is the first time I hear that someone receives tokens just like that, you must have registered somewhere for a giveaway/airdrop or something similar, and that's where the tokens are coming from!
Have you researched those tokens at all? Are they listed anywhere? Like on coingeco or coinmarketcap? Do they have any value?
There is only one way to get rid of them and that is to make a new wallet! Be more careful with the new wallet, and for adventures in the unknown, use the old one!

You can have as many public and private wallets as you want, but you can't stop someone from sending you tokens you don't want. I understand how annoying and disturbing it is. Just relax and let it be; as long as you don't click it or add your contact information to your wallet, I don't see any harm in it. After all, some of these anonymous hackers have created bogus websites and scam communities to attract people to invest in their projects. I'm sure we are all aware that some tokens are scammers, and you don't want your account to be harmed, so just ignore them.

There is no way to get rid of that dusting token for sure. I'm sure those who received dusting tokens in their wallets left the tokens there, because making any transactions from the tokens is tantamount to handing over wallet access to scammers to take our tokens. Another thing we can do is change the wallet regularly, never put big assets here, because any current wallet if it gets dusted there is no way to recover it.

You will recieve token and there is no way to stop deposit scam token but there is some wallet which prevent scam token to show you. These wallet automatically hide these scam token so I recommend you to use these wallets.
Safepal is best for this service. You will be shown only those token which have some value and not scam token. Bitkeep wallet is also good but it will always ask to add token when new token arrive in your wallet.

Am tired of receiving scam token, in one of my wallet am having about 45 coins in it which I don't know how they get to my wallet, have also been thinking about if there is anyway I can stop receiving those coins but I don't think is possible and most of them are scam coin which if you want to swap they will charge you gas fee and you won't be able to swap or they will have access to your wallet. So the best thing to do is after receiving the coin just leave it in your wallet and don't try to swap it.

You can't keep scammers create scam tokens and then sent it to addresses they are gathering and then those who will see it and then it made them greedy then that's the time you have fallen to their trap. Even though you have made some research but still the token or altcoin you have choosen is a scam or won't exist for a long time meaning it only shows that it looks like it has a lot of demand when in reality, demand is not what it looks like.

You have a lot of options, you can create another wallet and transfer all your good coins out of that wallet, these useless tokens are on Binance and Polygon chains, where the fee is very cheap or you can ignore it, it will not show up unless you add their contract address, you have to get used to it I'm receiving 1 to 3 of these useless tokens in every week and it does not bother me, I'm good at ignoring these useless tokens, your attention is important and it should be on legit projects.

The option for now is simply to ignore the tokens, not to interact with the tokens. The tokens are seriously on the rise. I think the scammers are taking advantage of newbies in the crypto space to defraud them. I think with time, as the awareness regarding the malicious nature of the tokens increases, people will stop interacting with the tokens and as such will no longer be of benefit to the scammers. This tool can be of help: https://scamsniper.net/ to detect scam tokens/coins.

We can't avoid receiving these worthless tokens because some devs will really airdrop those to random wallets.
Even if we say, we haven't participated on their giveaway. Some will just send it hoping that someone will trade it.
Especially with tokens where you can easily list in a DEX platform. So they are looking for potential traders of their token.
But with so many scammers, you need to search first if the token is a scam, because instead of gaining something you will be losing your other tokens in your wallet.
Ignore and just do nothing with those tokens. Treat it as collectibles as you will incur gas fees if you will send it somewhere outside your wallet.

I don't know how these shitcoins become a reason for your losses. Ar they ask you to return their money after sending shitcoins? Or did they hack your wallet?

Well, having these garbage coins isn't dangerous but they are just only annoying, however, we can ignore them. Honestly, I receive some coins from an unknown address (many had also gotten free tokens) but never do I put pressure on this why it comes and never do I spend time asking or digging who sent it. As for having no chance to stop this scenario nor to get rid of it from our wallet, the best thing to do is just let it stay and never talk to someone asking money because they send their coins to you, accidentally sent the wrong address as this will lead to scamming.

It is true that the shitty coins are very annoying but it is not dangerous and never make a person lose coins. Can we know how can the shitty coins lose your 100 mil safemoon? As far as I know, the shitty coins on our wallets can't do anything, they have no ability to hack our coins. People who send the shitty coins just want to make the wallet users look for the information about the coins and be trapped by them. If we ignore the shitty coins, we won't lose anything.

It is difficult to get rid of useless tokens, because they already know the address of our wallet that we always publish when following the gift complex, so most importantly we do not care about the token do not want to sell it or send because they will know our private key with the smart address they have designed, then letting is a very appropriate action.

if it's safe, you can just sell it but I don't think it's necessary because it just wastes your gas costs on useless things. But a lot of people lately are talking about token dusting, if you transact with this it's the same as giving your wallet access to be stolen, that's so scary. Therefore it is more recommended to leave the tokens useless otherwise you could be exposed to token dusting because they are difficult to identify with certainty.

Nope, nothing you can do about this, you can hide them but it doesn't mean the token is gone, it's still in your wallet. The best you can do is make a new wallet, and my suggestion is that you should never post your main address in a group or forum. Only send your wallet address through private message, it will not prevent 100% from those scam coin, but it definitely will minimize the risk.

In most cases, users ignore such dust tokens but some inexperienced users can be victim of dust attack. They wanna get rid of tokens and some cloned exchanges are offered to trade it. After entering some data and letting Metamask connect on unsafe environment, hackers will clean everything avaliable on wallet address.
Yes, careless people can be the victim. As I said above, actually no one can be the victim if they just ignore the dust tokens, not doing anything. Someone can be the victim if he/she connects their wallet (Metamask) to an exchange. Once it is connected or accessed by an exchange, a hacker has the ability to steal good tokens/coins from the wallets. In most cases, the exchange that offers the market to sell the dust tokens are unfamiliar exchanges.

each member agrees that there is nothing and any use to do with trash/dust tokens it's better to find a safe point by not accessing it or moving valuable assets in another wallet but sometimes worthless tokens can become valuable because in fact these tokens are not trash but because the amount is small make it impossible for us to sell it and then a few years later make it valuable; so don't ignore it.... because it's still potentially valuable

You probably holds the utility token of the blockchain which your wallet using. Scammers and token promoters usually airdrop useless tokens to token holder per se BNB or ETH since all our address is available publicly in the blockchain explorer under the holders. I mean your address is visible to public and other people so that's a way for scammer with their shitty coins to just send whatever they want to lure people to sync your wallet to them, so they can steal your money. I mean, if you don't know where is the source of certain coins and don't remember where that is, then just forget about it and move on. This token goes to your wallet because you publish your wallet address when participating in a bounty or airdrop. a beginner is usually easily deceived by this token because this token has a great value.
even though when I entered the crypto world there was no such thing, but now I see something terrible, this new thing can scare people,
especially people who are new to the crypto world, with scammers sending tokens to other people's addresses, it is a new act of a scammer,
we have to be really careful, because otherwise your money will be stolen by sending automatically, so be careful

maybe those who are new to the crypto world will fall into the trap of scammers, because I'm sure they (scamers) are looking for victims who are beginners. by sending them tokens with attractive estimates. If you have known Cryto for a long time, it will be difficult to get into this trap because before we exchange, we will definitely see where this token comes from. I myself almost once a week get a scamer token and the price is quite attractive. The point is that if you get a strange token, you should check it first before exchanging it.

To grow in price token must be useful for people to be in demand. Now NFT very popular and a lot of new collections appear that offers new interesting products and tools like https://twitter.com/Buakaw113/status/1517463376066396160 which offers NFT from the fighting ring to the digital world.

When cryptocurrency market rise a lot of new projects appear. Many of such projects just copy a good and popular one and do not have any practical use. But when market falls many of such projects die.

A lot of new tokens appear when cryptocurrency market rise and there is a big demand in cryptocurrency market.
But among good and prospective projects there are a lot of scams.
But during the fall of the market the demand in cryptocurrency projects is not so high.

Hey Buddy If tokens are unwanted then just do not import them that's all you can do. Must be careful do not to swap unknown tokens it can lead to big loss of your valuable assets. Well these tokens are Spams similar to Spam emails containing malware so just stay away and follow security protocols.

Is there any way to stop unwanted tokens deposits in my wallet? I have used two different types of crypto wallets and I keep getting tokens I know nothing about, I read that those tokens are scammers trap and moreover I never worked for it.

Crypto is evolving, so scams are becoming more sophisticated as well. We can't remove those scam codes from our wallet completely, just ignore them, never prying or try to exchange them, We won't lose anything.

You should create a new wallet and transfer all important tokens to the new wallet, do not use the main wallet to participate in social media events and airdrops. I think we will limit the receipt of these dust tokens.

I don't remember if this is the same thread or not but I am sure that someone ask on how to get rid of useless token. I suggest that you shouldn't touch it and if you have some tokens or coins that are real or not scam then better transfer it to a new wallet and abandon the one you use before. There are people mostly are scammers who gather wallet addresses and send a bunch of scam tokens and when you see it you didn't even bought or got from someone you know. Just don't touch it and you can't also transfer the tokens if they locked it.

If you have made your address visible for them, then expect that they will keep on sending you useless tokens and once you take advantage on it, i guess you will also fall on their trap. Soi the best thing you will do is just ignore them for now, eventually they will stop sending you if they have realized that you'll never bite on it. Next time, if you open a wallet, just keep it private as much as you can so that they won't have an access from it and start sending you some traps for you to fall.

This kind of question has been asked before in this same altcoin discussion.
My answer still remain the same.
Their is no way one can stop spam tokens from entering your wallet. So far as transaction is going in and out of your wallet the spam tokens will be sent to your wallet automatically, I notice those spam token smart contract are programmed to send it's self automatically ones to every wallet that run recent transaction untill the programmed amount has been airdropped.

well, even when we send it to a new wallet, there is no guarantee that the scammer will not send another coin to our new wallet. it happened to me. I don't know why they do that, but it's really annoying. even they sometimes send scam coins it's more than 10 coins.
however, the best advice is to never touch those scam coins. we don't know what kind of scam he made on those tokens. in addition, if you check the coin on the pancake, then the coin is worth a lot, but the coin cannot be sold.

Many scammed tokens are everywhere in the market. Imagine doing an airdrop where the telegram bot will ask you to deposit some coins as fees before withdrawing your airdrops, the moment any telegram bot ask you these, just put it in mind that it is a scam. There are also legit tokens that you will see in your wallet and be hoping to swap it with your USDT, not knowing that it's a scam token. Scammed tokens don't have value, despite their Hugh price, it's all glitch. It can't be withdrawable and if you try to swap with either BNB or USDT, it automatically wipe out your wallet.

If you get a token bsc wallet without verification then forget it and avoid it. Because if you go to pancakeswap to sell that token then just deduct the fee and see unsuccessfully transfer. You will lose some money for paying the fee so avoid the scammer token.

I think the main reason why this happens to you is because most of the time you post you address publicly so that is why people know your address and that they can send useless token to that address of yours. And now that you know the main reason, the only way to stop it or totally getting rid if useless token that keeps on depositing to your address is to just simply stop posting or commenting your address on whatever sites it is either reddit, twitter, or facebook where most scammers are. I would recommend to just change to a new address and do what I have said above, doing so, you will no longer receive useless tokens and I believe you will feel more secure about your wallet. Get rid of those address most people know, since they know your address already, it is recommended to just change to a new address.

Stop your curiosity, that's it! You can avoid anything if you don't think of anything that may harm your wallet.

Knowing that you did not do anything or participate to gain those fake tokens gives you that mindset not to be bothered and let
those coins stay and not be touched.

The time you got curious and try to move those coins will be the time that will give the scammer or hacker a time to penetrates

If it makes your wallet really clean, the only way is to replace your wallet with a new one. Everyone nowadays is very worried about tokens suddenly entering their wallets. They call it token dusting which can give hackers wallet access if they transact anything with the token. For asset security, I don't recommend that you clean those useless tokens, if you feel your wallet is important at the moment, at least use your wallet to transact wisely. but if you only have assets left, immediately move them to a new wallet.

yes it is a trap. It's hard to say whether it's a real asset that suddenly magically enters the wallet or not. but simply if you don't participate in a similar project with tokens in your wallet don't ever do anything to those tokens. I'm sure what they say token dusting is true, I've experienced it myself. Before it's too late, it's better to use a clean wallet, try to periodically change the wallet.

What's surprising is that there are still many beginners who ask for ghost assets that are suddenly in their wallets. but that's better, than those who don't know and just keep quiet. at least it made a warning to others to be more careful.
to eliminate such an asset in my opinion is impossible. moving it to another wallet I think it will end the same.

The first thing you need to do is to stop joining airdrops for cryptocurrency that you don't think is valuable. As for the ones already in your wallet, you can send them out to a burn address or just ignore them.
I used to have many tokens obtained from airdrops in my ERC wallet, after realizing that they are just a waste of space and their values worthless, I abandoned that wallet, hence I stopped any form of airdroppings, fortunately I don't have any good and reliable tokens in it, it's a pity airdrops that was once another means of earning some decent income has turned to wasteful and scamming adventure, that era has gone for good, I think there should be a means of burning those tokens completely by getting rid and wiping them out of my wallet

If you go to the contract address of an unknown token then you will see millions of transactions and if only token has been sent from this wallet then you will understand that it is fake token. You can never connect that token to an exchange wallet because it is locked so all these tokens should be avoided.

yes, I have mentioned above that every time you make a transaction, after that you will get several types of coins for free and it is certain that the coins are fake coins.
The majority of scammers are targeting the Binance/ftmscan/avax/pollygon network with relatively cheap and easy-to-reach shipping costs. which allows them to keep sending those junk coins every time.

Fake tokens are now on the increase and, to me, they are disturbing as they appear in the wallet, giving false total value of tokens in the wallet. Since these tokens are malicious and intended to harm the recipient, the best thing is simply to ignore them. Any form of interaction could lead to loss of your real hard earned tokens. Since this is becoming an issue, I anticipate that crypto experts will look into it and find a way that it will be difficult for fake tokens to enter a wallet in the first place. Or future wallets will have a way of filtering off fake & useless tokens.

During the fall of the market it will become clear which projects are not useful for people and will not survive.
Fall of the market is a difficult time for the cryptocurrency market.

It is very difficult to survive during the fall of the market because many people stop investing and sell their cryptoassets.
They stop to support the ecosystem of the project and demand in the tokens falls.

Whenever the market have that bearish sentiment or condition then it do really affects overall the confidence of people on investing into newer projects which is something
very common or normal.Investing does really have lots of factors needed for you to reconsider first before making further step or decisions. Most of the time
we would able to pick shitcoins or useless projects in the market and once you had accumulated those via free or via investment then there's nothing we could do about it.
Just accept whether you could make profits or totally lost up your investment.

I never knew these stuffs happen. My long forgotten MEW surely had caught a lot of  shitty tokens that are not even known none other than the devs or scammers themselves. I don't really mind though since I do not trade in my old wallet file in MEW which was the unsecured way of holding my wallet since it was just beneath my old laptop.

I could only speak in relation to my experience, but I don’t think that there’s a way right now to get rid of such coins but to change your wallet. Like what has been mentioned, this are useless coins, then might as well ignore them and to not do anything about it at all. Also, I would agree with the other users who have said that by making your wallet address more visible to those sending such, then you would most likely receive such coins.
Coins that are not useful or where do they come from, it's better if we just ignore them,
we never know what risk will happen if we use the coin so as much as possible to minimize the risk,
I think it is sent randomly and sometimes I also receive such coins in my wallet

I've been receiving lots of useless random coins but I keep on ignoring them because I believe that it's just one of the scammers' strategies to attract new victims. We can't get rid of them because we can't control them from sending yet we can ignore them so we'll also be safe from scammers.

The only way to prevent them from your real investment is to ignore them and not to give them any reason

to look at your wallet and try to engage with your assets. Hackers are sending tokens to anyone
knowing that there will be someone who is not careful about biting their strategy. Never to open or
try to go further. If you don't recognize the coin, just ignore and continue with your usual business
using your wallet.

what we can see from the trash token is that when we check the price on the Dex exchange, we will see a very expensive price. it attracts us to make transactions. but you will see how expensive regular transactions are. very unfair to the fees we are used to in transactions.
avoid assets that we do not know and suddenly are in our wallets. it's all a scam, and don't ever expect it, it will be worth it in the future.

Is there any way to stop unwanted tokens deposits in my wallet? I have used two different types of crypto wallets and I keep getting tokens I know nothing about, I read that those tokens are scammers trap and moreover I never worked for it.

What's more, the Pregnancy Market is becoming more and more popular as the days go by, but the scammers have become more and more powerful here, but what is being noticed here is that it cannot be completely removed from the wallet. So all you have to do here is create a lot of new ones. Here you can open the new wallet and take the important tokens. I think there will be no problem if you take them from there.

yes, you are right, all the scam coins that go into the wallet are really annoying and they are like garbage, for now there is no way to delete them, for the time being the best solution is to move the trash tokens to the blacklist in the application your wallet, at least the token does not block the order of the valuable coins in your wallet, I suggest you never open and follow what the bot commands from the token, because most likely it is a scammer's way to hijack the wallet you,

This is very big issue with scam tokens. When you send or do any transaction automatically some tokens added to your wallet. Bscscan showing some coin as a scam. I think better way to get rid of these token is hide token from your wallet.

You are right that there is no other way to get rid of shitcoins other than hiding them in the list of coins we hold in the wallet application. But I always access the bsc address via bscscan, so I thought it was really annoying when there was a new coin deposit but it turned out to be a shitcoin that keeps growing.

So it's enough to just ignore shitcoin then that's the right solution, because it could be that the main wallet will be contaminated from the hacking code on fake smart contracts, although there are currently no cases of hacking through shitcoin transactions but it is likely that in the future scammers will develop new systems with more difficult hacks.

I am used to getting random fake tokens in my wallet  ;D, it can be annoying at times but there is nothing you can do about it, leave those tokens as they are and remove them from the display of your wallet's dashboard, even if you abandon such wallet for another you will still be sent those fake tokens.
This form of scam attempt increased last year in the bull, some will even attach a ridiculous price value and may be followed up with exchanges to make trade. Its a form of phishing where the wallet are taken over by hackers. The scammers provide liquidity to the token on the site to lure the wallet holder, so in the process of transaction it fails. Everyone will need to find out the redflags to those token to avoid the trade.

What activities are you doing online? Have you joined bounties, airdrops, or something similar where your address can get exposed publicly? Because that is one of the way for the scammers to see your address and send you scam tokens. If not and you are still receiving random tokens, why not use a new wallet address every time you have done a transaction? But not all wallets supports this kind of feature.

I think they created this to combat the same issue. What can they only send are tokens but tokens don't show automatically inside the wallet unless you will need to import them manually. Why can't you just ignore them? Just don't look at your wallet in a block explorer because you will always see them there.

Do you realize you can have deposit of these coins in binance chain wallet with every transaction or deposits? I have wallet which are not used on bounty campaign at all but yet got this tokens, this not only in binance block chain but in polygon and ethereum. The important thing is to neglect the token and never try trading except you got no valuable coin in your wallet.

The useless token is a lion trap, don't even think to trade, or swap them, because the moment link your wallet for authorization the transaction, it will fail and the wallet has been automatically compromised for scammer having access to it. Avoid unknown token in your wallet, even when the price is tented avoid, see unknown token as fishing links.

the best thing to do is to either ignore or blacklist those tokens. since one wallet address has been gotten, they will keep sending those tokens. scammers can hack one wallet when one trades with them, or click on links attached to these tokens. research and make findings of these tokens, one should not be carried away by the expectation of what they offer, and end up losing one's coin in his/her wallet.

Regardless of whether there have been cases of wallet hacking from shitcoin transactions, then of course we have to be aware that vulnerable cases can occur without realizing it, so the right advice should be to ignore foreign tokens that are received without buying, bounty and airdrop activities.

I understand the situation perfectly, the only thing that can be done for now is to have those tokens there until the BTC takes its bullish trend and wait to see if those tokens or campaign payments can go up in price, it's like a lottery where luck is the one that plays the most here, but there is no need to get out of them even when they do not have any associated value, it is best to wait to see how everything continues to develop, because if you get rid of the tokens and then want to recover them it is very difficult because they can take value at a given moment.

I currently have very weird tokens which has same name with some top 50 coins, but on erc20 or binance smart Chain. Totally fake. I feel like we should have some options to drop these coins from our Wallets somehow to void. But I think there is no technology to do that now.

No it's not possible because you cannot stop someone to not send you tokens. Now scammer bots are very fast and after doing any transaction they will send you token which will show price also. Bets way to stop these token is to remove from watch. Safepal wallet will not show scam Tokens.
If there is a feature to remove the scam tokens from the list, it should be done with this way. However, it is true that stopping someone to send tokens to our wallets is something impossible. I never see any feature on the wallets to get rid of certain tokens, even in MEW or Metamask. The feature may be only applied in Safepal wallets.

Anyway, I am sure that in the future, there should a feature to ignore some tokens or remove useless tokens in our wallets. But the developers of crypto wallets needs time to improve it, it is only not avalibale right now.

As long as you're using a smart contract inclined wallet, it would be impossible to escape from being spammed with unknown tokens. The best approach is to hide the unknown tokens from being visible on your wallet dashboard and strive to ensure that you don't share your wallet address carelessly. This may reduce the incident of spammed tokens but can't eliminate it.

Unfortunately it can't. If the token is dusting it's better not to do anything. if you try to transact anything with token dusting it will cost you assets in your wallet. Usually what I do if my wallet is sent a useless token or a scam token, I immediately replace a new wallet and move the assets to make it more secure. token dusting usually comes in because we often follow airdrops, so we have to be careful.
I don't think it's because of the airdrop. every token transaction that we do on this exchange (DEX) will trigger the wallet to receive token dusting.
you don't have to bother to move your assets. just create 2 wallets, 1 wallet for token trading on the exchange, and another for storing BNB or primary assets.
Many cases like this occur in BSC and Polygon networks. still, be careful with assets that are suddenly in the wallet.

I agree with you, just avoid the scam tokens in your wallet and move on with your trade because many traders that tried to swap such tokens in the past loss all their money in their wallet, because they were trying to transact the scam tokens. If you are not comfortable with the scam tokens in your wallet, I think, you can create another wallet to move all your money inside the new wallet and leave the scam tokens in that you Old wallet. I think, it will be difficult for people to fall victim to scammers tokens again in the community, because many people has learned lesson from other people that fell victim to such scam tokens in the past.

They call it token dusting. The best option is that you should replace your wallet by moving all existing assets to a new wallet to prevent asset loss in the future. Tokens that are already in your wallet at this time cannot be discarded, but I think you can revoke applications that have been connected to your wallet in unrekt as an initial precaution.
This doesn't have anything to do with wallet connections, I think once you make a transaction on the blockchain your address becomes visible to these scammers, they go to blockchain scan and copy the latest addresses and sent the malicious tokens to the owners.

You have a valid point @witcher_sense

Be wary if a token appears in the BSC or MATIC wallet that we have never known, usually the token directs to connect to our wallet if this is done there will be a problem, namely all assets in the wallet will be stolen because they already have a copy of the private key.

Yes, it is better for an unknown token Ignore, this is a risk of a very cheap -cost network, to send tokens to 1000 addresses only requires $ 3 or even less so the scammers are easiest to trick the wallet owner.

I'm also the same as you, usually I'm tricked into swapping, and the result is that the fees I send are wasted,

This is true to some of the unwanted coins that I get. Usually when you search them you will see a website and it instructs you to paste your keys before you can unlock the coin. If you are a newbie that has a less knowledge in dealing with cryptos, you will likely fall for this trap.

Some of them will ask you to pay some amounts before you can unlock the coin so that you can sell them but of course nothing will happen after you pay them. They can copy the name of the original coins but it all boils down in the contract address. We always make sure that we check the coin's contract address and compare it to the original if we aren't sure about it.

Create a new wallet that only you will know about. And transfer all your real coins to it. And use it only as storage. This will help to keep it clean for as long as possible.

That's why it's important that we must have several wallets and don't just have one wallet. Because at least we have to have a wallet which is not
known by many people, so we can store the coins we really want in our main wallet. Then provide the wallet that we prepared to follow the bounties,
so even though the wallet addresses are scattered and there are scammers who send unwanted tokens we are not too bothered. Most importantly,
we must ignore unwanted tokens that enter our wallets, because if we do something, we may fall into a trap. Such is the risk in the crypto world,
especially if we follow a lot of bounties, there will be a lot of unwanted tokens coming to our wallets. But if we have major wallets that only we and
our closest people know about, it's not something to worry about.

Do not share that wallet address with anyone, do not even use it to participate in bounty campaigns, airdrops or connect to trade on the DEX exchange. Only you know about its existence and should only store important assets in it. You will never have those junk token transfers again. I did so and it has worked so far.
In the way you mentioned, we can easily do it so that we can stop accepting dust coins again into our wallet, actually ignoring dust coins in wallet is fine as long as we never exchange them because I personally also received some dust coins in my wallet but I ignored it and so far I haven't encountered any asset loss issues.

And if you want to do better with your addresses, don't publish them so that you won't receive any of those because some are collecting those addresses and makes it on their record.

I'd rather ignore it than I should get rid of it, and I think it's a waste of money for one delivery. Not to mention we don't know the risks if moving it, because there are so many in some of my wallets either BSC, MATIC, usually there are spam tokens sent from several projects that test the token..

Only way to ignore it but no way to remove it completely from our wallet, if you try to connect to a website to transfer them, your assets will disappear with them. The best way is to ignore them, or we can change to a newer wallet and do not share that new wallet publicly or use it to participate in transactions, just to hold your assets.

True, it's better to ignore all tokens that we do not know, they direct to the site to connect our wallet and we can be sure they will be our private hold, if we ever connect then the best thing is to immediately move all assets to other wallets.

Curiosity should not be applied with this kind of schemes, if you try to transfer those tokens

it will ask for transaction fees and it will open the door for those scammers or hackers to penetrate with your wallet,
your safe assets will surely be in a risky position, so better to ignore and not to give any chance to anyone to have
that glimpse to your assets, be vigilant and always secure your money.

Such tokens keep coming to those addresses which smart contract addresses are spread in different places where scammers try to attract you by the tokens. None of which is known to the token holder. As far as I know there is no way to turn it off. But there is no alternative to using that particular smart contract address to get rid of it. It is really disturbing to see useless tokens in the wallet. My wallet is filled with useless tokens of all sorts. I think the best one can do now is to ignore them and simply take no action, as I understand they are very malicious and have the potential to drain your wallet if you interact with them (https://www.vice.com/en/article/epxxe7/received-some-random-cryptocurrency-it-might-be-a-phishing-scam). They even don't know what they are investing in, only believing in the influencers that the project is a hidden gem to hold for the long term, the project will skyrocket or to the moon after listing, and other promises that will convince the newbies or other people to attract in those new projects. Right now especially Binance smart chain has so many random free tokens sent to you even though you didn't participate in any airdrops or bounties. I don't know exactly the reason behind it but it's really good if we just ignore it and we just need to create another wallet and keep it personal without posting it in some airdrops to make it private so that only we know it. because just like the email address, they are now getting our wallet address to send some random tokens it is obvious they have evil motives why they are doing it.

Creating another address and moving valuable tokens wont help, because as soon as new address starts to get transaction, scam projects will automatically start to send you crap again. They see movement on the address - they send their crap there.

Leaving junked address and creating each time a new address for one transaction and abandoning it seems to me the only possible way right now to stop observing crap tokens in your portfolio.

This is due to the fact that your wallet address is public, and many con artists want to obtain it in order to send tokens that will be used to induce users to sell their wallet or move their funds to another wallet. It will be better if you can switch from your old wallet to a new wallet, but if your participation in several airdrops is very large, there is a potential that scammers would send your wallet fraudulent tokens once more.

Always have to do it. We should distinguish wallets for participating in airdrop or bounty campaigns and main wallets for storing key assets. It is not recommended to use the main wallet to participate in free token spins or to connect to any strange websites using the main wallet. The wallet participating in the airdrop must say that I have a dozen of them, I never use the same wallet many times and if any assets are valuable and decide to keep for a long time, I will switch to the main wallet.

Garbage tokens are always there and appear if there are transactions, they seem to use bots to find out active wallets, of course this is because of the very cheap transaction costs, most of which are BSC or Matic networks, while for the ERC20 net I have never received a token that I am not know.

Exactly, once a wallet is active irrespective if they are public or not, those bots will send useless tokens, different chains has it pros and cons too

It's just for me, I have long hold position in Bitcoin and I feel pretty strongly about it. I totally understand people have different stands but I like being heavy in BTC. I have some alt-coins but mainly I only buy BTC.

It can be said that there is no way to prevent those scam tokens, the only way is that we should ignore them, never try to touch them even once. This is a fairly common form of fraud today, not new, but still many people fall into their trap. As long as we ignore them and don't touch them, they can never harm us.

What are you saying, don't know if I misunderstood your answer or not, but your answer is completely unrelated to OP's question.

Always have to do it. We should distinguish wallets for participating in airdrop or bounty campaigns and main wallets for storing key assets. It is not recommended to use the main wallet to participate in free token spins or to connect to any strange websites using the main wallet. The wallet participating in the airdrop must say that I have a dozen of them, I never use the same wallet many times and if any assets are valuable and decide to keep for a long time, I will switch to the main wallet.
i think all those who follow the airdrop already know this kind of thing. but not only airdrop followers and bounty hunters, sometimes i have a personal wallet without knowing that there are new tokens that come in and it's as if when searched on decentralized exchanges such as pancake swap the tokens have an expensive and very unreasonable price.
i just want everyone to be more careful when new tokens come in to always look for information via the web or youtube channel. sometimes the token dusting attack has been shared in several media so that there are no more victims.

Based on my experience active arbitrage and trade on BSC network can't ignore with many time receiving new spam and scam token in my wallet, few minutes after sending coin suddenly I received new token deposit in my wallet. I don't think happened with bounty campaign hunter or airdrop follower only but all transaction made sending and receiving some token you will get credit with scam token later. Usually easy for receiving scam token when make transaction swap on BSC and Polygon network, usually when I use ethereum network for sending and receiving coins less have credit with spam token in my wallet.

I don't checked about how much expensive or not with scam token receiving in my wallet because first time checking with holder address looks not realistic and some time BSC network can detected with dusting token received.

From my experience it mostly happens whenever you tried to trade your token in that wallet maybe if you swap token before or after the end of the trading you end up seeing unwanted token in the wallet, at this point do not panic and don't you ever try to swap such token most of them are phishing token trying to empty your wallet if you initiate swap. Just ignore them and go your way.

Trying to allure you with fake tokens that you don't even know where it came.

Never to touch or do any transactions, as it will open doors for them to hack your wallet and if you do have coins or valuable
assets all will be gone in just split of seconds, they will be able to transfer everyhing out. Be vigilant with every movement that you are dealing with your wallet.

best course of action is just to ignore it, there's really nothing much you can do with these spammy tokens in general, they exists just as nuisance and nothing more. moreover I think there's features in wallet that you could use to deactivate and ignore these tokens in general so you wouldn't see it in your sights and consider they don't even there.

No need to worry about getting rid of tokens that we don't want, like you said we can just ignore them and pretend they never existed.
Because sometimes our wallet addresses can be known by many people when following the bounty, therefore there are always unwanted tokens
that enter our wallets with bad intentions of course. But if we feel disturbed because of the many unwanted tokens in our wallet. We can activate
the hide feature which is usually found in some wallets, if there is no hide feature, maybe another step is to move the projects we want to our main
wallet whose address we don't share with anyone. That's why I always have several wallets with different uses. Usually exchanges wallets are used
to store projects for trading, then some online wallets to accept bounty payments. And for my main wallet to store projects for the long term,
I usually use hardware wallets which have proven to be safe for storing the projects I really want.

Never move spam tokens in your wallet, if you don't want to lose all your tokens, because it can also drain your money for a single transaction and it's full of risk if you move it or throw it away, because you are worried that your secret key could be recorded by someone who irresponsible, so my advice is to just leave the token in your wallet, at least it doesn't hurt you..

Yes, leaving the token in your wallets saves you from two things.

First, you are not exploiting of wallet hack as in some cases you lose all your funds if you send some scam tokens to another address or connect your metamask with some scam exchange. Secondly, it saves you tx fee in case those useless tokens are on the Ethereum exchange.

to be honest, most of the people who got those useless coins were BSC wallet users. however, I also have a lot of such coins in my trust wallet, and when they appear, it's annoying. I'm one of those people who want the coins to disappear from my personal wallet, but I realize that it doesn't need to be done, and it doesn't need to be ignored, because there is a possibility that they will continue to send new useless coins
I have also seen that there are more such scam tokens in BSC wallet. But I don't try to make any kind of transfer in those tokens. There is no effective way to stop them. As long as we should avoid those tokens there will be no problem. Moreover, we will understand our self which tokens we were not supposed to get but have arrived. This can be said to be annoying for users.

Several kinds of dusting or scam token in my wallet received when swap and sending coins in Polygon network, I made once or twice transaction only after receiving token in Polygon Network than I swap at Anyswap dapp exchange market, without few minutes later after transaction completed suddenly I received this several kinds of scam token. I don't active use this wallet because have coins left from long time and swap after have higher price. I think all network have indicate with many kinds scam token, keep watch out when receiving new token and check at dextool to know about how much liquidity volume transaction.

Once the token get's deposited in your wallet, there's no way you can transfer them or remove them. If you try any of this, then a scammer will have access to your wallet. I have made a post few months ago. The problem i am facing is whenever i try to deposit ETH on my wallet, that automatically gets send to a wallet which is obviously scammer's wallet. There's a lot of transaction on that account in the same way.
So to avoid this, you can do 2 things.
First, you can keep your assets in your Exchange platform. But this one carries risk.
Second one is to transfer your token in an Exchange site and withdraw your assets from there to a brand-new wallet. This way, even with the last hacked wallet's transaction hash, scammers won't be able to track your new wallet.

There is nothing we can do with useless tokens, if we are disturbed by the token, it is better to make a new wallet to store assets, the waste token is deliberately sent randomly based on recorded transactions, and in my opinion as long as we don't care then this is no problem.

Nope, there is no solution to get stop SCAM or junk tokens in your wallet if specially your address is public. We have to participate in the bounty/airdrops campaign, so we can't keep 100% hidden our address here is the main problem. But i suggested, don’t try to connect your wallet to sell fake tokens.

In the past we have got access with some exchanges to change the small holdings of tokens into specific cryptocurrency in the top order. Maybe using those options is good, and this is for the listed cryptocurrencies. There are lot of tokens that don't get listed, and for those tokens it is wise to leave it idle in the wallet. Maybe we can get lucky someday.

Scammers plan to trick you with some unsolicited tokens. And they continue to attack those wallets that have more transactions or assets. In some cases they track all the wallets especially the wallets that are used for airdrops and bounties, a lot of useless tokens keep coming in the wallets. But there is no reason to worry if those tokens are not connected by you. There is no any way to get rid of it.

Is there any way to stop unwanted tokens deposits in my wallet? I have used two different types of crypto wallets and I keep getting tokens I know nothing about, I read that those tokens are scammers trap and moreover I never worked for it.

there doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of the coins that have entered our wallet unless we send them back at our own expense and this is a self-defeating way. so you better just ignore every coin you don't know that goes into your wallet. maybe here you're not the only one who receives junk coins that have entered our wallets. and I also have a lot of unknown junk coins through the BSC and Polygon network. but i ignored all of them.

i don't thning you can do something about it, they are called dusting token and it's seem they are scamming in BSC network because they are the ceapes network fee and quite common for among cryptoenthusiast. maybe if you seend them to another adress you can get rid of them just remeber don't swap it in pancake swap or another swap service out there.

We can add the token to our ignore list but still if we want something that is without effort it's just better to ignore them like you said my wallet has a lot of junk tokens and until now I just ignore them like there's nothing. I don't know why people love to send other people junk tokens, I'm curious why tho  ???

Isn't obvius because they are scammer? i mean they send it to random wallet and hopping some of them fool enough and swap the dusting token in pancakeswap, if you do it they will have accest to you wallet and send all you coin/token to scammer wallet.

They are trying to allure you, that's why, because there's still a chance that there are people
around that will think it is a legit project and they will gain something out of those free tokens.

Remember those times where people are being asked to send a small amount of BNB or ETH for gas fee
to claim some rewards which ended up being scam and those scammers just take the money.

Not because it's small, it doesn't have value. What if hundreds or thousands of small amount being thrown,
if collected, it all can turn to decent to huge amount of easy money.,

actually, they are different methods, that what you mention is old and classic scamming method this one is different and mere likely like fishing method, when you have dusting token in your wallet you will become curious and begin to search in coinmarketcap and when you see it they have huge value and you will begin trying to sell in in the market, however, they are only can be swaped in pancakeswap and when you try to add and connect to their contract address you are automatically giving them access to your wallet and when that happens you walled already gone because there actually bot who send all asset in your wallet to scammer wallet.

What is more annoying is that I can't get rid of it from my wallet. I wish there's a way one can delete these unwaytokens from the wallet.

Ignoring the shit tokens sent to the wallet is a good solution, but I agree it's not a good enough solution. It is sad to see the shit tokens that are designed to mislead us among our other valuable assets in our wallet. I guess there is no way to get rid of it exactly. Maybe creating a new wallet and not sharing it publicly will give us some relief, but we can still be easily targeted by technical stalkers... The decentralized world brings with it many good things, but it can also open the door to such bad things. At this point, we should always be careful and try to avoid such bad things.

Well said, it's very important not to be curious and not to be quick in making a decision.

Like what you said, this is not the old fashion type of scamming. Scammers can quickly access your wallet and suck everything
Once you provide them the opportunities. Better not to touch anything, it will keep you safe from the hands of those attackers
the more you ignore, the more you protect your real assets.

Scammers usually make their bad token by following others token name or they try to set the same name. When i scan, sometimes have to be confused. Although I am very careful there. Because I know there are more bad tokens exist in my wallet. I can also look at the contract address of the specific token. No way to get rid of it and not yet been discovered. Now I have taken this topic in a very simple way. Because I know if I don't do anything directly with those bad tokens then I have no chance of harm.

Scammers/hackers know how to retrieve the details of the wallet. If you create a new they will send unwanted coins to the new ones also. The best way is to ignore such coins that you are not aware of even I would say we should not try to swap and sell unknown coins. If do so then most probably your wallet will be at risk.
I have not experience a new token in my wallet before and if i do notice a token in my wallet and i dont know the way about of the token i will prefer to make research of the token first, and if the token is tradeable or can be easily swapped to sellable coin, after the transaction of swamping the token to a valuable coin, the best thing i will do is to change wallet to avoid penetration in my wallet by the scammers.
sometimes our wallets are sent tokens by other people and they appear to have value but after swapping the coins we can't even just send a fee,
maybe this is what many people are talking about about token scammers in the wallet, of course one thing we can avoid by leaving it alone, or create another private wallet that is more private.
