Title: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC?
Post by: electronicash on June 06, 2023, 08:49:35 PM
while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.

Noncustodial wallet means their is no other person that controls the wallet but you. Where am I going to withdraw from if government ban crypto trading when I have the complete control over my noncustodial wallet? It is not an exchange and it is not a custodial wallet.

Because government wants to ban crypto trading, I do not think gambling will come my mind at all than I am gambling before, to just use little amount of money to gamble.

My bitcoin will stay on my noncustodial wallet and I am going to move fully to a decentralized exchange like bisq

Anyone that have such decision is a fool because government banning crypto is entirely different from how gambling is legal. It has no connection that will make the person to think of sending all his coins to a gambling site, which is a big mistake.

There's no big deal here I would withdrawal all my BTC to a reliable crypto wallet than just sending all to gambling site which I know during withdrawal I might still face another issues. There's no casino or gambling site that are all 100 percent trusted they had some complaint in one way or the other so I decide to store my bitcoin to a personal wallet, if worse come to worst I use p2p to sell off my bitcoin. Maybe I might send settle amount there for just gambling sake but not because bitcoin wanna be ban.

There should be another option on the poll
*Doing nothing at all.  ;D

You wouldnt be needing to spend your crypto or Bitcoin if the things you've been dealing had been decided to be banned on your place. Trading and gambling is different thing on which if you do mind off on how you should gonna spend those coins then gambling might be an option but since you are involved on trading then it would be common sense that you are really tending to accumulate as much as possible
which it is really that contradictory if we do speak about spending those coins on gambling.

Just like the rest or people been telling on here is that we do have that non-custodial wallets on which means that we do still have the full control of our coins as long you dont touch up
centralized exchange and if you are really that eager to trade then there's platforms that dont ask out KYC so it wont be a problem and if you are still that hesitating
then we do still have that DEX which we could deal off with.

Guy I will change all my coins to fiat currency before the government policies will have effect. Or i might transfer some to my casino wallet so I can easily have access to them and use to play games whenever I want it. Government policies are not certain they can come up at anytime. So the best way to do now is to remove the coins from all wallets to online banking apps. Whether non custodian or custodian wallets as far as the government is involved in it, you should not keep the coins in any wallet but transfer it to another online banking accounts

There's nothing on any casino's terms that bans you from playing if your country bans the use of Bitcoin as long as the casino allows you to play I will play when playing in the casino you are subject to their terms if my country allows casino then, I'll continue playing with my Bitcoin but to be safe because casino might see the restriction and they will question your account using fiat is a good option if they allow it, while safekeeping your coins in your noncustodial wallet.

I believe of your country already ban bitcoin trading or bitcoin entirely it is now left for you to decide how you are going to spend your bitcoin either to keep hold or use it for other transactions that is noncustodial, to me depositing my Bitcoin into a gambling site make me more vulnerable and at the same time put my coin at risk and the possibility of me getting my entire Bitcoin is not there because there will be some charges and also the risk of losing while trying to meet wager requirement for withdrawal.
So in such a situation,  if the government should ban Bitcoin, what I will do is store my Bitcoin in a non-custodial wallet, best I use a hardware wallet device to serve as my cold wallet and I will continue holding it.

This won't happen in my country. Here, people prefer to trade crypto than play gambling. And the government supports trading more than gambling. So, it is impossible for our government to ban trading. But if it really happens, I prefer to withdraw. Playing more in casinos won't increase the chance to get bigger money, it even leads to addiction and loss of more money. You must remember that we must have good management to allocate money for gambling. Increase suddenly the allocation of money in casinos won't be a good idea, it is not the right way to multiply money.

I can't embrace a scenario when the only options are hold or gamble. Why isn't there an option to sell for fiat money? Because that would be the most sensible solution, if you're not a degenerate and are looking to at least preserve your wealth.

Plus, if crypto trading is only banned in my country, I could always trade it abroad.

First of all, there are fiat based online gambling casinos which would allow players to still play if they are that much into gambling. When it comes on banning of BTC and interest with web 3.0 platforms, then I guess it would be better to wait for things to be more visible in terms of accessibility. Sometimes, prohibition is specified to usage but not actually with totally banning this blockchain or network, so if that's the case, you will still bave access to your crypto funds and in such way you can still play on crypto gambling sites. So I guess it would be a case to case basis. If it is a total restriction then it would be risky continuing 'coz your funds would be at risk of not being accessed.

Wouldn't play, but that doesn't mean I'd pull out my coins though. I'd let them sit in my wallet, or maybe use them for some other stuff, ones that won't let the government connect the account to me. I'd never withdraw though, I'd just think of it as hodling, which I usually do. I can also access it via other countries if needed.

I'd simply play in regular casinos tbf if I wanted to gamble, I only stayed with a crypto casino in the first place because it was the first type of casino that I played in, so I just stayed.

Fun fact in my country, the government ban gambling since long time ago but what is happening in the actual life? Many people in my country still do gambling almost every single day in online fiat casinos. It means that there is always at least a way for people to do what they want even if the activity is banned by the government. The same for crypto trading, even if my country ban it in the future. I still believe people will still do crypto trading by alternative ways. This is the answer if you ask me personally since I do still gambling although it is illegal activity/banned by government.

I hope you find an optimal solution, especially if the trade is an income that allows you to pay bills.

I don't know what trading has to do with the decision to bet in a casino, for whatever reason, it's the same to say, I don't make a profit with trading, I go to a casino to bet.

On the other hand, you should check carefully, if it is the casinos that allow your country not to be restricted for you, there are two different things, there are countries that are friendly with any casino and the casino may not necessarily have the same reciprocity with that country, or vice versa.

while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.
... i might transfer some to my casino wallet so I can easily have access to them and use to play games whenever I want it. ...

It is never as easy as you think, the reality can be different if you want to access your wallet from a casino, they are not wallets to protect bitcoin, use Wallet where you have control of your assets, DEX. Deposit in a casino the money you can afford to lose...

Gambling with my coins is like wasting them because my intention is not to make gains but to get rid of them. I will not waste my hard-earned money because of government policy. First, government policies are not static or forever, another political leader or party with a different ideology might change the ban on Bitcoin policy. Second, if the country didn't criminalize the owning of bitcoin but the use of it, I will keep it in an air-gapped, open-sourced non-custodian wallet. It will be safely kept there. Third, I might also decide to travel to a neighboring country where I can carry out bitcoin transactions and return back to my country. Fourth, if the majority of my income or wealth comes through bitcoin, I might migrate from my country temporarily.

Knowing what someone plans is problematic because that depends on their decision. Like how do you even know when it will come out? It's the anticipation of it, not knowing that it can be possible or not to have to be banned by the governing body of a country, that is torture. It's better to do what you can until it comes out. Doing something illegal once it's been enforced would not be worth it.

The ban would only limit my options in selling my bitcoins but i'll continue playing in crypto casinos because i'm currently in a signature campaign that pays in bitcoins, so i'll still have to sell them regardless of the ban or not. Nothing would change for me in the gambling part since most crypto casinos won't be affected, and if I have to spend my bitcoins, it's always better to sell them first anyway.

Withdraw and wait, there's no reason to keep there, that is suicide.
If I want to continue my gambling hobby using online casino sites then I'd rather use the currency in my own country as long as it is available. The worst case scenario that I see is if they are only accepting popular currencies, the strong ones.
Its not like I am gambling just because they have an option for cryptocurrency betting, I do love sports betting so I'll stick with them and would sacrifice to deposit the available options.
But this is only for the reputable casinos and sports betting sites, if there is another reputable one who offers better service then I might switch to it.

I wouldn't dare risk it tbh. I'd rather play on a physical casino here in our country and spend some time commuting to and from the place rather than have my assets frozen or seized by the government just because I can't stop my gambling itch. Besides, there aren't much that I'll be missing if I don't gamble anyway, so it's not like I'm losing a lot just by following what's mandated by the government for the time being. There's a lot to lose if I didn't follow the rules rather than something to gain - in short, it's not worth it.

Government banned bitcoin trading shouldn't be the reason why you should go and gamble all your coins because there is a high tendency that you will loss your coins, which makes it a dumb idea. I will move my coins from the exchange,if I was a trader to a noncustodial wallet where nobody will know that I have such bitcoin in my possession because I am in control of my coins and there is a high level of privacy. I will buy more coins and hodli since I will be using a decentralized platform which makes me invincible from the government. The banned of bitcoin or crypto by government shouldn't be the end of our bitcoin journey

One plan to do for most hodlers is to just send the coins to a wallet and keep it there. If they wanna keep trading still, there are dex to use for it.

But the option play on casino will still be in my mind and maybe because I'm used to betting already and DEX are not as great the CEX in trading which one option other than trading is casino.

My country prohibits Bitcoin and Altcoin trading as well as online gambling and here I still play regularly and have had no problems until now. So as long as there are VPNs and exchanges, I don't really care what the government says for cryptocurrencies. This is my asset and it is up to me to be able to use it for my various purposes. Will I be penalized even though I still use Bitcoin and do gambling? on what grounds? is it because of the law? that's very funny, as long as the police can still be bribed I won't be afraid LOL.

Still, I'm gonna play but not on online casinos as I'm not a type of a casino guy but rather on sports betting using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Bitcoin is decentralized so banning it by a country doesn't matter as the day might come that it will be adopted by your own country so it would be good that you have some coins in your wallet that will make you rich in the future, so yeah i will try to accumulate (hopefully) my BTC through gambling but of course with a ton of discipline.

Is there really a country like this? like banning trading instead of gambling? Because it's very weird, but let's say the government does it in our country. I am not a heavy gambler, so for sure I do withdraw it all and put it into other investments, as for sure if I put it all in a casino, I'll just lose it. Also, if they ban crypto all over the country, then I think all people will withdraw it, or there are some of us who do belong on it who continue to use it in the country but only in a quiet way so that we don't get caught.

When you say 'online gambling' I understand you mean cryptocurrencies. That being the case, I agree with my colleague:

There should be another option on the poll
*Doing nothing at all.  ;D

I would simply HOLD on my HW until I could travel at a bullish time in the market and partially convert the bitcoin into something I could bring back to my country legally, or even if my holdings were considerable, I could consider moving to another more crypto friendly country.

Is there really a country like this? like banning trading instead of gambling?

No, there isn't.

I'll be withdrawing my coins from trading platforms for sure. That's the first reaction because there's an upcoming ban. I'll keep them in a cold wallet. But it doesn't mean I'm limited to what I can do with it. If crypto online gambling is legally allowed, why would I not take a little of it and play in a casino, or use some of it to buy game credits or other goods and services? I don't understand why I'm given with an either-or option when I can easily do both, or even more.

I will engage in both, gambling and cashing out. I don't want to lose the sole purpose of cryptocurrency when it was banned in my country by the government. Besides, gambling can be quite enjoyable to fill my leisure time, as long as I can set limits and avoid becoming addicted.

As for cashing out, it's to enjoy the profits I've gained from cryptocurrency. I also need money to maintain my vehicles every month, and the profits I earn while in the realm of cryptocurrency are tremendously helpful in that regard.

Is there really a country like this? like banning trading instead of gambling? Because it's very weird, but let's say the government does it in our country. Surely, there will be countries that strive to preserve Bitcoin's existence on the internet because it represents a crucial legacy for the future development of the financial world, driven by the revolutionary blockchain technology it brings forth.
Even El Salvador is continuously striving to improve by embracing Bitcoin as a part of its country.

I will look for other exchanges to keep trading and maybe I will still gamble less even though gambling is legal in my country. Waiting for the government to change its attitude can also be done especially when it closes all access to domestically and abroad exchanges.

If there is no clarity from the government with the regulations, I think it's better to withdraw and store the coins in a separate wallet that we can control ourselves. And if the government closes the exchange, our coins are still safe and we don't need to do anything.

How much coins are we talking about? If we are going to go with how much we currently have in our Bitcoin wallets, then no. As much as I love gambling using the coins I have in my wallet is too big for me to gamble, besides, the government banning BTC in the country does not mean the value of BTC is gone, I can just use FIAT if I want to gamble on an online casino.

I don't know how can you accumulate coins by gambling. Even the best gamblers could lose their coins.
I just don't play gambling games with the sole intention of making more money and accumulating more coins.
If a crypto ban occurs in my country, I would just keep my coins in my cold wallet.
Nobody could find out that I have a cold wallet, that is full with coins. The government officials aren't that smart(and they don't care that much).
I could sell my coins for fiat money by using a decentralized exchange located outside my country.
It's practically impossible for the government to change it's position after a cryptocurrency ban has been imposed.

Well, in most cases trading increase your profit and gambling reduce your profit, so it might not be a good strategy change to gamble it. There are other P2P methods to buy and sell crypto currencies, which will be a better alternative to gambling.  ::)

Also, governments might lock down on exchanges.... but there will always be Bitcoin friendly countries, where you will be able to spend those coins on holidays or to buy virtual goods or services. (Example : Pay for a VPN with Crypto currencies)

Bitcoin cannot be stopped, because not all governments work together.  ;)

Absolutely as I can cash in the Bitcoin through many direct exchanges to credit/debit card that offer this service online. There are a lot of them and you can go to beschange website to check them out.The government has no way how to ban Bitcoin as we have Russia who is a huge country and technologically capable in the IT arena who couldn't put it in place despite trying a couple of times.I would change them through the exchanges as I live now in a country where Bitcoin is not regulated,it is irregular or regular depending on government officials, they are given free choice but they cannot judge why I got x amount of money from an exchange as they cannot go up to them, they are not that smart here.

This is very easy, I will keep holding my coins, in your scenario the government of my country is banning the trade of cryptocurrencies but not the act of holding them, so there is not any need to take the risk of just gambling for the sake of it, and instead I could store them until the politicians of my country either changed their mind, or the value of my coins was so high that it would allow me to move to a different country and then sell my coins there.

I myself will still keep tokens that have a bright future like BTC to be used as investment assets even though the state prohibits their use but keep in mind that the state also cannot know who and where someone owns or keeps tokens like BTC for long term investment.
But for some tokens like Altcoins maybe I will use them as betting capital in the crypto gambling industry because then some of these Altcoins still have the opportunity to multiply even though the risk is also big because it can also be entirely lost but the name of gambling is always at risk so whatever the risk is i will accept.
I'm sure most of the gamblers here are also using crypto, whether they be investors or traders, but when faced with the same case as you said, their choices will be different.

Even if the government ban crypto in my country, they can't stop me from accumulating more bitcoin or holding my bitcoin, i can't just withdraw all my coin and gamble with, when I know that I can lose my money in gambling at any moment, when gambling their is no assurance of winning in gambling, I can withdraw all my coin to my gambling account then I will lose everything. I will rather use illegal way to accumulate and store my bitcoin rather than withdrawing all to my gambling account.

I don't really know the country that you are from, but most Islamic countries already ban gambling in their country, so citizens are not allowed to gamble, but people in the country are still gambling, the government can only ban gambling in the country, but citizens will always look for ways to gamble, the same thing applies to bitcoin trading, the government can only ban it, but citizens will look for ways to trade bitcoin.

the alternative way will be widely used. Even gambling has been banned from the start but using a VPN will overcome all that, even though using a free VPN is risky they still use it. Just like BTC if it is really banned and blocked then the same thing will be done. But for now, BTC may be prohibited as a legal tender but allowed as a trading tool.

It depends on what I've been doing in the past. If I am a gambler who used to gamble regularly using Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, I will surely continue to do that, but if I have never gambled in my life or maybe I do it once in a blue moon, I don't think I would waste my money like that because even if the government has banned trading, it doesn't mean that my Bitcoin has become worthless, I can always keep them in my wallet and wait for the future.

Besides, if government bans cryptocurrency trading or usage of cryptocurrency, they will ban access to every single platform that involves cryptocurrencies, so there will likely be no gambling platforms as well that will be accepting cryptocurrencies after something like that.

I can lose my Bitcoin if I gamble it so it's not a good idea if the Government decided to ban crypto trading. There's an alternative way if you really want to keep your Bitcoin (like what others already pointed out here) thus to gamble it is not only the option.

Anyway, if this happened in our country I might convert my Bitcoin to cash because I don't want to go against the rules of the Government. Then if I want to gamble, I will just use fiat as currency. Good thing this scenario is unlikely to happen here so it's not something to be worried about.

If they make ban on cryptocurrency in general terms they are likely to also extend this to gambling as well, but as long as the gambling platforms you will be using will not disclose your KYC to the government or reveal your identity for them to track you down, you can continue to gamble with cryptocurrency but always have it at the back of your mind that you're engaging in something risky, or you may just go for a no KYC casino if you think you need more privacy and also avoid the use of a centralized exchange in this case, use a decentralized wallet to make deposit into your casino wallet and not from an exchange wallet to the casino wallet.

I have a simple way when my country declares crypto currency completely illegal and gambling sites are allowed then I deposit all my crypto currency in my casino sites. I will meet my daily needs by withdrawing from casino sites when I need to.

However, if the casino sites do not have good security, then I will have to convert the cryptocurrency into my country's money and deposit it in the bank.
If again the government changes its mind and declares Bitcoin fully legal then I will withdraw all my money from the bank and redeposit it in Bitcoin.

Government will just ban the use of crypto and not singling out trading if they want to keep away their people to use crypto currency. There’s a lot of online casino that accepts fiat some of them have a built-in exchange.

In this scenario, There’s nothing change with playing online casino since player can play without any restrictions since the government still allows it. I don’t see the argument here since crypto trading is only ban while online gambling is still legal.

Luckily my country supports any technology that is currently developing including crypto as well as bitcoin, even though the government banned it in the past but that doesn't mean they will take action against perpetrators for holders of bitcoin and crypto, only banning bitcoin crypto trading, for example using bitcoin as a means of payment to buy something at my country is clearly prohibited, so it's best to just keep it in your wallet and wait until the government gives you freedom and fully legalizes it.

At the moment my country has almost legalized crypto trading as a commodity so there is no problem with the ban, even casinos are strictly prohibited in my country, but I have no problem playing casinos as long as using crypto or bitcoin, except using bank transfers or accounts maybe it is strictly prohibited. the point is I play casino and depositing bitcoins in my wallet is an easy thing.

You're quite alright here in your point of view but let's also consider it from another direction that if the casino you're using is only a cryptocurrency supported casino without fiat currency, are you going to drop them and research on new casinos that accepts fiat or you're going to remain without gambling, what we should be clear with here is not the fact that gambling isn't banned but cryptocurrency is was banned, are you secured with using these gambling platforms such a way that they will not leak your information out and the government identify you to be using banned cryptocurrency in gambling and charge you, this is all about privacy with gambling platforms, can you get secured?

If legal trading would be ban how much more with crypto gambling? For sure they do the same with this. Much better to stop this activity while government is in hot status with BTC since for sure if you keep gamble and use bitcoin for sure you will struggle to continuous using it oe finding some people to withdraw your btc earnings. Much better to follow what government order so that no financial loss will occur to us.

I would rather search for a casino where the country restrictions is not there. There won’t be any KYC issues and transparent to the players. I don’t think if the government bans Bitcoins, it will affect a lot, as Bitcoins decentralised nature will help me to remain anonymous and hence no other person or governing body can know how many Bitcoins I have. It the government don’t change the policy, then I will just sell the coins using P2P deals.

A country may ban everything as they wish, but the people may also find a way to overcome the situation.
Saying no other option does not make senses for me because there will be always many possible options to do.
However if the option is only 2 withdraw or gambling it away, I'll prefer to withdraw it to my own wallet and find the best possible way to exchange it into fiat.
I may use it for gambling some but holding it might be the best option to do.

If you are a gambler, then you may think of gambling with your savings but generally speaking why would you gamble and lose your money (gambling do involve big risk of losing capital)

If you ask me, and I am given only the two options I may spend some part for gambling but mostly I will keep my savings in bitcoin until government unban the crypto. Also If the country never unban crypto, I still have the chance to move or travel to crypto friendly country and then cash out my bitcoins

obviously I would never put a substantial amount at risk by changing my gambling habits, it would just be a nonsense, gambling puts your capital at risk, I don't see it as a smart option.
Of course I will just wait for btc available again or just spending / converting into FIAT money

I think, is based on local-law.

In-case we are playing on online global casino not in local we still can play with "crypto" because there is no activity legal like gambling on phsycal casino that country ban these activity.

IMO, still can do these.

I would rather continue playing and cash out when lucky. The amount of Bitcoin I use for gambling is not substantial, so it's not a significant problem for me if I lose it. However, when it comes to investment, that's a different story. If crypto becomes illegal in our country, it would be difficult for me to hold onto it since exchanging it for fiat currency wouldn't be easy. But as they say, where there's a will, there's a way. Let's see what happens.

It's hard to do that if one of your habits is playing in casinos, old habits don't just die, if they ban Bitcoin there are still other casinos that accept fiat, so I will play at casinos that accept fiat and withdraw my Bitcoin and send it to my noncustodial wallet, I have to protect my Bitcoin lest the government find a way to confiscate it.

There's really no difference between playing with fiat and Bitcoin the most important is you protect your investment.

Accumulate what? The same coins that are going to be banned? Thr thing actually is that for me, it does not matter  what the government decide about crypto, I will always hold my coins, and also gamble if I want to, I will just avoid trading on centralized exchanges if those are banned too, there are already decentralized p2p platforms coming on board, that could do perfectly to help bypass the government's restrictions on crypto, but talking about gambling, I see no problem with that, I can't panic and gamble all my coins away because of ban, it makes no sense.

I don't see how one has to do with the other. If gambling is legal and something I enjoy, I will continue to play regardless of my country's stance on the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. The regulations surrounding Bitcoin and the legality of gambling are separate matters. As long as the casino permits players from my country and there are no specific restrictions, I can engage in gambling activities without any hindrance.

In that case, the main change would be the method I use to exchange cryptocurrency for my local fiat currency. If my country has restrictions or regulations on the use of Bitcoin, it will surely affect the availability of cryptocurrency exchanges or the ease of converting Bitcoin into my local currency. So I'll probably have to look into alternative exchange methods.

As a gambler,I will assign little fraction of my bitcoin to my favorite casino where I do gamble,so that I can easily gamble whenever I feel like. But if trading is my means of earning a living, I will convert some of my bitcoin to cash,to enable me relocate to a bitcoin friendly country,if possible.

The rest of my bitcoin will be transferred to my noncustodial wallet where I can easily use it in a DEx,whenever I want to because I believe that the government wouldn't be able to identify or tracker users that are using bitcoin in a decentralized manner or way. Or better still I will keep my coins to myself as this will encourage me to go on a long term investment rather than a short investment like trading.

I voted for "not to play" in the poll because in such a case it would be my choice to cash-out my existing cryptocurrencies and not gamble illegally.

In such a case it should not be forgotten that if a legal act is brought by the country, if the gambling service used does not pay your money within this process it will not be possible to make a complaint about this situation in any way.

On the other hand, I think it will be important to be informed about how long this restriction process will last because if this is a temporary restriction it would not make much sense to gamble illegally during this temporary period. For this reason I think it would be a good option to make a decision especially depending on the type and reason of the restriction.

Not all online casinos are using cryptocurrency to gamble, you can still gamble with fiat. So if my country plan to ban Bitcoin, I'd choose to gamble using fiat. Remember using cryptocurrency to gamble when your country are ban Bitcoin, you're have a risk of going to jail or face a legal problem. All casinos aren't privacy oriented because they don't give a choice for their gambler to access their site in onion link.

It is not a case that Bitcoin is legal or illegal in my country if online casinos are legalized then I would definitely be interested in gambling with Bitcoin there as there are various non custodial wallets to hold Bitcoins which are not regulated by the government in any way. so I can easily trade bitcoins there. But I don't think any country's government would decide to legalize online casinos while keeping Bitcoin illegal in any country. a sane government would always banned both online casinos and Bitcoin if it had to be banned.

nothing to worry about this imo, i will continue to gamble with bitcoin (without waiting for further instructions from the government) even though the government of my country has banned it.  anyway, banning crypto as a payment transaction, it is done mainly by governments in several countries but for banning crypto itself i see it is impossible.  i'm sure there are many online gambling players who experience the same thing and continue to gamble with Bitcoin even though their country prohibits cryptocurrency from being there.

Since that hasn't happened yet, my answer is the same as some of the people answering here. Gambling is a fun activity even though I am not an active gambler, and if crypto or bitcoin is strictly prohibited in my country of residence, I can still gamble using fiat and this is the same as gambling before there were methods of using crypto or bitcoin for betting. So there's no significant difference, unless both are banned, but there will always be ways to still use them if they do because there will be smart people looking for solutions as long as the internet exists.
and if crypto or bitcoin is strictly prohibited there is no option for me to send my crypto or bitcoin to a non-custodial wallet and wait for them to change their mind and it's like I do Hodl.
and this thread doesn't mind country differences or anything, and just wants to know what they think if that's the case.

The question how long? Can you expect government to change their stance for a day, a few days. a week or even a year? No ETA for this. i will be going to play my coins whatever the consequence is. It's my money man.
I just remind you that if trading was not the same like gambling. Trading is not only about accumulating the tokens/coins.

There will always be loopholes. It's not i don't respect with regulation in my country but my main purpose for i have owned crypto was to trade, gambling or something else.
Glad to see that if my country was not harsh like china or US which were always suing the crypto developers.

You cannot use a casino to accumulate Bitcoin, you will end up losing your Bitcoin casinos are not trading platforms where you have a chance to make a profit, in this scenario I will just withdraw my coins send it to my custodial wallet and wait for my government to change their stand, I will just fiat to gamble or maybe stop gambling since I only gamble occasionally.

These are two problems that are difficult to accumulate and consider one legal and one more prohibited, this is a challenge and a hard blow for gamblers what else for those who are heavily addicted, really a difficult choice.

However, if these two things happen, of course there must be other alternatives, of course the gambling industry will not remain silent, they will switch to fiat withdrawal and deposit methods, if crypto really has no solution to be traded again on exchanges or in gambling, of course we are still gambling using fiat, gambling without crypto.

Another solution, maybe we can ask for help from friends who are in countries where crypto and gambling are legal, to place bets at crypto casinos, because crypto and fiat can still be used through visas and so on, in short using third parties, friends who can be trusted, to gamble, friends send crypto to casino accounts, we send fiat to friends accounts, bet fixed.

If for any reason my country decides to ban crypto trading, I would withdraw my Bitcoin into my own wallet rather than gambling with those. I would spend few of them for gambling once in a while, but I won't risk all of them for gambling purposes. Although, gambling with crypto-currencies isn't a bad thing for those who have control over their emotions and earn more than losing, but I prefer to save mine in a wallet.

I'll hold my coins for longer period if the ban remains and once the ban is left I will exchange some of my Bitcoins into stable-coins and restart trading with those coins. I always prefer to trade with a stable-coin/BTC, because that way have been profitable for me. I will continue my trading in same way after the ban timing is over and my country where I resides allows trading of Bitcoin and crypto-currencies once again.

If something like this should happen in my country it would be a cue for me to say bye-bye to gambling.

I'm not sure in situations like this the casino would most likely implement the use credit/debit card deposit and would make KYC mandatory and might likely put a warning in their ToS concerning users from that crypto-banned country not to make use of crypto as a means of deposit. This is only if gambling activities are being monitored in that country.

But in reality, it's almost impossible to ban the use of crypto in a country because there will always be means in which citizens will get access to crypto and since they can access it it will be very easy to use in their gambling account. We have non-custodial wallet, we have exchanges that don't require KYC verification before you can use their P2P services, as long as you can get you coin into your wallet the reast would be easy-peasy.

These two are different, I mean crypto trading and online gambling. So you see different people involve in them differently and some people involve in both. For example if you are a trader, you may not know about online trading or you know both, so base on your question if I'm a trader and government plans to ban it then I will withdraw my coins from whatever exchange to my personal wallet and sell either through P2P or I can sell directly on the exchange, covert to local currency. But if I gamble online then it is easier, I can focus on online gambling and continue gambling since it is legal.

In the event that Bitcoin becomes illegal in my country, I will be selling all of my Bitcoin holdings and temporarily moving them into a more secure asset. While I await the verdict, I will only use just a portion of it to gamble and trade. I'll continue to take the risk if I can find another way to make use of Bitcoin freely in the event that the ban is enacted, just like other nations that have faced bans but still managed to find a way to use it.
However, I still believe that Bitcoin will always be supported and continuously being adapted in our country so we're far from this struggle and that's what I'm grateful about. That's also the reason why it's a good thing that we're embracing good opportunities that Bitcoin could offer here.

I'll do both, save in my wallet and also play on casino, of course with a little coins that I can afford to lose. If I'm lucky to win, it's definitely better for me. But it seems like this will not happen in my country, if that happens too we definitely have other alternatives option to trading. After all, if there is no other alternative, a trader wouldn't risk losing money in a casino, so they would keep it in their wallet until the government changed stance.

well, just as Oshosondy has said. The answer is no. Why would I wait for the government to unban the coin before I could bet with it? What if the ban is not lifted for many years? If I have my Bitcoin stored in a personal custodial wallet, then I can deposit to the casino and also withdraw from there, and no one will question me because Bitcoin is decentralized, and no one will even know it was me that carried out the transaction unless it was someone that went through my phone or PC. Even if the government places a ban on Bitcoin in my country, I know there are people who will still be doing Bitcoin transactions via P2P, and the government wouldn't notice it.

I only send cryptocurrency funds to online casinos.  I don't want my bank account to be connected to any gambling platform so if in case my country decided to ban BTC then I would have to bid farewell to my online gambling activities.

If in turn of events, the government decided to unban BTC then that would be the time to resume my gambling ventures.  I don't want to bypass the law in order to satisfy my gambling habit.  At the end of the day no matter how we despise some laws implemented by the government we can't do anything but follow the regulation to avoid problems in the future.

True. Gambling with your hard-earned bitcoin does not guarantee that you’ll earn more bitcoin, instead you will have more chances to lose them than to grow your account. So I also think it’s better to withdraw your bitcoin and transfer it into a non-custodial wallet, that way you can provide full security of your coins. However, if you wish to gamble with bitcoin, it maybe fine enough as long as you only gamble a very small portion of bitcoin that you can easily manage to lose. If you’re not comfortable with it, then just keep your bitcoin for long term.

There should be an option to hold since you can spend your crypto outside your country and that is the best option for your crypto. If the your government is restricting you already, then its better not to spend it and just wait for the market to survive and wait for your government to change its ruling. Gambling is not guaranteed and I don’t want to spend most of my crypto in gambling, its better to wait because crypto will soon prevail and every government will have no more choice but to accept it.

If they manage to ban crypto trading, does that mean they can find out and ban our assets on global exchanges? Whereas currently there are many global exchanges that we can use for transactions, there is also P2P so that we can withdraw our crypto results to fiat. So it doesn't seem like much of a problem as long as we can do a few things.

Whereas in gambling, if it's an online casino and they accept crypto, that's fine too, right? Just keep our secrecy regarding crypto, and don't need to tell anyone to make it safer. This might be my choice instead of me having to sell all Bitcoin right away.

^ Definitely right and additionally, it could be your BTC trap on the gambling casino wallet when they will force to close by the government.
In situations like these, it is important to stay updated on the specific regulations and laws that apply in your country. If online gambling with cryptocurrencies becomes restricted or prohibited, it may limit your options for using BTC specifically. You may need to explore alternative methods or platforms for your gambling activities. Because everything is risky when you mix the centralized and decentralized platforms, unless you are using a decentralized gambling casino.

Either way, we would have to wait for the government to change its stance, i.e. why "gamble to accumulate" if you can't ever cash out?
So this question can be really simplified to something like: "Are you willing to gamble with (all) your crypto?"

I'd say: Nope (unless with small amounts).

while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.
That is right. You don't need to stop your BTC investments and trading due to a government ban. There are alternatives which allow you to continue your operations. Anyway, it would be really strange if a government allowed crypto gambling, while censoring crypto trading, because after all crypto enthusiasts would find a way to use gambling platforms to trade crypto for fiat and vice-versa, taking advantage of the market's fluctuations (buying low, selling high).

Gambling is secondary. Before the ban I'll move the funds from the gambling platform to a non custodial wallet. This gives complete control over the funds. Later even if the country ban the usage of cryptocurrency I'll go to the nearby country and cash it out. I've read similar incidents with some people, that they went to the nearby crypto friendly country to make use of their holdings.

I would prefer to sell 50% of it before it is completely banned and the rest will be used to gamble in online casinos, and I think even though the country where we live bans crypto and crypto trading but it will not completely ban us from owning crypto, because the advantage of crypto is freedom where we can still transact as long as we have an internet connection, and I think the government will be more inclined to ban gambling than trading or even they will ban both because they think both are the same and that means they ban crypto as a whole, but there will be no rules that can completely prohibit citizens from transacting in crypto.

There are alternatives if I really want to continue the use of crypto for my gambling although I should understand the risks as it's now illegal.

It's hard to adjust that suddenly I will stop using crypto when our country is crypto-friendly since the inception of bitcoin, especially in my gambling activity. If there's really no way to use crypto or the law is really strict about using it, no choice but to gamble with fiat as what else I can do?

But for now, I don't really know what will be my approach if that's the actual situation here since I never really imagined my country will ban crypto.

The poll has very fair result though. 12 votes for yes and no which also means there are just 24 users who participated the votes and it doesn't represent the community.

I may really gamble more if this also happen in my country, its a hopelss situation unless you trade on dex. Theres not much on dex for now even after decade of crypto existence.

I'd rather not use that coin to gamble because I don't see that I have a big chance of winning a lot.
I prefer to move my coins elsewhere, store them, and wait for the next government regulations because who knows if the government will allow crypto trading again.
Using coins to gamble won't give good results, but some people may try it anyway because they feel they have good luck.
But hopefully, those who think like that will be wise because gambling is not a place to earn money.

But in your case, don't you think that selling your bitcoin asset by diverting them into other form of asset doesn't deny you of enjoying the independent nature bitcoin has brought and the profitabilities you may stand to gain with your assets you hodl, if i may be oppotuned to suggest you, i will give it an opinion for you to consider a change in location from the country to another if possible, why i said so is because your country will never ve responsible for your failure in business and economy progress, you will always find yourself being.

If we send our bitcoin to a gambling site all in the name our country wants to ban bitcoin, do you know that you may not have it stored there for long? Because of regular visitation, one could got tempted and started gambling little by little until such person's loses all their funds. As a matter of facts some casino might say before you could get back your deposited funds you need to gamble at least make some percentage before withdrawing which i think is not pretty cool for someone to keep their bitcoin in casino or any gambling site.

Besides, supposing that at some point in the future you want to withdraw your coins and the ban is still in place on the country in which you live, what are you going to do then? Especially now that KYC policies are so widespread, this means that if the amount is big and you have to identify yourself, even if the coins are returned to you it is possible that information could be shared by the casino with your local government, and if this is the case this could bring you a whole set of legal issues on the future.

If the country prohibits the use of Crypto in any form, we can still withdraw it through the crypto exchange platform through available Exchangers such as Binance by using P2P.
But when we are gamblers, the choice is not to withdraw the token but to deposit it at the casino and use it to play or bet.

If the casino doesn't prohibit the country where we live from playing there then problems will never occur as long as the requirements requested by the casino we provide such as KYC.
You don't need to worry about that kind of thing because the government will never know what you are doing in a crypto-based online casino.

    -   Of course if that happens I will still keep my bitcoin in a non-custodial wallet, this is the only safe way apart from having your own hardware wallet. So there are many options or methods in these situations.

In gambling, there is a higher chance that the government will control it, but in bitcoin, it is very unlikely that will happen. You know the government of other countries think of nothing but to manipulate what they want to manipulate if there is benefit and they will benefit from it.

It makes absolutely no sense to deposit all the bitcoins that you own to a casino in case the government imposes a ban on cryptocurrencies, first off, if they do ban it, they wouldn't let cryptocurrency exchanges operate within the country as well, and if they allow casinos, they would obviously allow wallets as well, so it is definitely better to just withdraw your Bitcoins from the exchange to your wallet and keep them there.

One should only use a limited amount of money for gambling activities, and when you deposit everything you have in your casino account, as a gambler, you won't be able to control yourself and you might gamble it all away which won't be good for you.

Keeping your Bitcoins in a non-custodial wallet can protect you from hacks or government checks on exchanges. The government may not be able to check the people who keep their Bitcoins in those non-custodial wallets. Still, the government can check the account holders on exchanges originating from their country so the government can do further checks. So it's better to withdraw all the coins on the exchange than to get into trouble later. And for gambling, maybe we should take a break from playing gambling while waiting for further announcements from the government.

Could this be possible and is it not easier said than done, what if you try to locate a casino that requires no KYC from tou and uses it to gamble and maintain every means to privacy and security measures, am not advising to go against your country law but they cannot moderate gambling to the fullest as far as am concerned.

I'll withdraw and that's easy. We don't keep our coins on any centralized platforms whether it's an exchange or a crypto casino. And if there's no other option, that's the best thing to do because you can still sell it somewhere offshore so you'll get what you've accumulated.
You don't just stay in your country if they're too strict with the implementation of rules and regulations against bitcoin. So, whether you like it or not, that's the best option and that's just to withdraw and hold. If ever they change their stance that's good but at least you've got a game plan on what you'll do with your accumulated btc.

Yes, you are right, storing bitcoins in a wallet is the best way because we are worried that the government will also block access to casino sites and it will be difficult if we try to use a VPN and we can be banned by casinos from playing there, therefore it is better to withdraw to save it until everything calms down with a better situation.

The government obviously will control it if they ban something then they will prevent all access too unless the government withdraws the ban and frees the casino also bitcoin then no problem if play casino again I'm sure everyone will think the same as you

I have an reasonable suspicion that the government is aware of the beneficial transformation bitcoin may bring to the country, but they still prohibit it for reasons best understood as self-interest. Bitcoin has a promising future, unlike casinos, which continue to drain our hard-earned money in the pursuit of more money. I stopped gambling a long time ago, and I have no plans to return. The government will not only impose stringent limits on BTC, but will also monitor the critical means by which traders and investors take their earnings, which is where P2P comes in.

One of the great things about bitcoin is that it allows you to bid for time and wait until things get better, after all if you tried to do this with fiat by the time you wanted to sell then a great deal of the value of your coins will be lost, but with bitcoin if you wait until a new bull market comes then it does not matter if the country in which you live makes bitcoin illegal, as you could always sell it with a P2P transaction or you could move to another country in which holding and selling bitcoin is legal and avoid problems with the law in that way.

Yes and of course the government can legally ban the use of bitcoin, but what they should know is that they were the ones going to suffer the most on this because they will not have the opportunity to use the digital currency while i can privately make use of bitcoin through the p2p network to perform my privacy transactions as long as am not using a centralized exchange and trust the gambling platform i use from leaking my informations.

I will rather focus on trying to secure the tokens I own now, before they ban everything else ....and find ways to protect it. Get it into cold storage, so that you can sell it online....when the price is at a all-time-high.  ;)

By doing that, at least, we can secure our crypto assets and protect them from government targets. Even though the government will apply more stringent rules for all these exchanges later, it's okay for us because we can still use other exchanges.

And it's better not to play gambling for a while until further notification from the government because the government may also regulate these casinos. But if you want to keep playing gambling at the casino, you have to be careful because we don't know how closely the government has supervised the casino.

There are so many ways to circumvent the bans since years. There are VPNs, Tor and so many other methods. Even Bitcoin itself is pseudo-anonymous and this the problems are low.

Truly speaking the ban on crypto is a tough thing to actually implement. The governments rarely want to do something that the people love to use. They would rather put taxes than outright ban them. Otherwise the outcry would be difficult to control.

Also gambling is a hidden pleasure for many people. So it's not stopped easily and even if it does some new method will come up.

There is another aspect to this question. If the government bans crypto trading, will it not ban the crypto itself? I never heard that anywhere in the world crypto trading is banned but people are allowed to use the cryptocurrencies. Usually, the ban is imposed on the use of crypto and then you cannot use crypto for trading or gambling.

In that case, Online gambling will still be allowed, and the payment mode shall be credit cards (fiat money). In such circumstances, if you still use cryptocurrency for gambling, you are doing an illegal act.
A ban imposed on cryptocurrencies will cause all the platforms being banned where cryptocurrencies can be used whether it's an exchange, a wallet, a gambling platform, or anything else where cryptocurrencies can be used. Which means, that if cryptocurrency trading is banned, cryptocurrency gambling platforms will also be banned so someone can't use their cryptocurrencies for gambling as well.

And even if cryptocurrency gambling platforms are not banned, it is not wise to gamble away everything you have only because cryptocurrencies are getting banned in your country. You can always keep them in a secure wallet and wait for the future.

All things considered  am definitely going to keep playing on my favorite crypto platforms because govt was nowhere when crypto was establishing itself .

And as long as I know that with VPNs, tor browsers and other ways of Masking my footprint will keep my identity unknown, am not giving up on crypto because of a government ban, besides...I  the govt is protecting their interests in fiat and am protecting my financial freedom that exists digitally.

You still have to be weary, though. There are casinos that do not explicitly state their rules on VPN and the use of such tools to mask your IP and stuff, but they'll ban or restrict your account the moment they find out about it. There are still multiple points of possible failures on your plan even though you have masked your identity online.  Better be safe about it still and not get swayed by the guise offered by VPN services. Choose your platform that are lenient to such services and you'll be fine.

I think I can still keep on playing. Since the government had not ban crypto gambling.  This means any cryptocurrency used to gambling is legal so we do not have to worry about being involved in illegal activities.  Its that I have to look for an alternative to convert the cryptocurrency if I happen to win a huge amount of money.  I hate leaving my crypto on gambling platform so I will do my best to withdraw them to my non-custodial wallet.

When the government bans crypto trading, it means they have forbidden anything that has to do with crypto, and doing it against their protocols and laws will rule in a fine, you just break the law and there is a fine for it. Have you asked yourself, how do you plan to sell the bitcoin you will accumulate after gaining more USD, or when the market pump, you will sell them to the market to get your cash as profit and you have just directly or indirectly made a trade.

I believe when the government ban crypto trading, the crypto used in gambling will become something they will tell casino to delist because they will pay tax and make yearly report on their financial revenue, they wouldn't dare mention it that they made revenue from crypto the government has ban and restricted to their country.

Then knowing one thing is not enough but we need to stay vigilant to know if what will be the next on their list. What I know is that SEC is the ones who always have an issue in the crypto exchanges and some cryptos but I think they never target crypto casinos.

There might be a reason for it. When the government bans crypto gambling, there might also be a reason for it like it operates illegally and those casinos who supports BTC are also going to be affected. If my country is one of it, I will now play harder using my BTC because this might be the last time that I can do it. I am only making sure that I have gotten enough, to not have an urge to play later on.

I'm going to keep playing, but not for the reasons you laid down in your post. I'll keep on playing cause I want to play and gamble and not because I wanted some other way for my coins to accumulate if bitcoin were to be banned in my country. Besides, and this may stray off the point of your post but it's something that holds a lot of truth nowadays, online gambling will have a higher chance of getting banned in my country over bitcoin, and US is not the only country in the world (seeing as most issues and flak against bitcoin and cryptocurrency comes from the SEC which is in US). So with that being said, bitcoin getting banned shouldn't be the biggest concern here, or what to do with your bitcoin if it were to be banned in your country. Remember, it's decentralized and indifferent when it comes to territories, you could pretty much use it even if your country bans it. Gambling in all its forms is threatened.

Why the rush when I can lose my coins to gambling within the twinkle of an eye. The coins that I can't afford to lose, I don't not put it into gambling where the odds will be against me and the outcome unpredictable.
I'll be patient with the government. Keep my coins somewhere safe and hold. As long as my government wouldn't be able to tell who holds crypto and who doesn't, then I am fine.

while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.

If you're not a gambler then you don't have to gamble because if you do so, you might become addicted or possibly lose all your coins to the casino. Your government might ban Bitcoin but not forever because in the future, the government will reverse their laws to unban Bitcoin.

Instead of gambling your coins, I'll advise you keep holding it, it'll increase in price in the future and you can sell your coins. If Bitcoin becomes illegal in your country, there'll still be ways which you can sell your Bitcoin and get yourself out of this situation that you're in.

You can also sell your coins through peer 2 peer transactions and the government can't ban decentralized transaction. They can only attack centralized exchange through their laws but not decentralized exchanges so don't gamble your coins instead hold them

Probably I will withdraw and wait for the new rules but I am sure it is better to stop gambling if the government wants to do so. Changing countries and looking for alternative countries may change something but it doesn't look like the best option, IMO. Some governments even don't care about crypto investors and they prefer the traditional way of economy, so make research before deciding. I never deposit in the casinos before reading ToS and check the availability on the specific region since Stake has banned some countries suddenly. It is under question what will happen tomorrow, so I suggest not holding big amounts on crypto casino accounts.

Can't we still do online gambling with BTC? As long as access to it is still possible, why not? I'm sure it will be the same for many people, as long as they can still access online gambling and can still use BTC or other crypto, they will definitely continue to use it, especially if this makes more profit and ease of transaction. However, we also don't need to tell this kind of thing to other people so that everything is kept a secret, right? Especially if the government finds out, it's possible that our account will be banned. But then again, if you act carefully and keep secrets, it might be safer. So, don't need to panic.

Would your approach be any different if (in this hypothetical scenario) the country did not ban crypto trading? i.e. would you still risk your holdings by gambling?

If you can find an alternative to convert to fiat (e.g. by using foreign exchange) then the local trading ban is irrelevant.
And if you can't find such alternative, then why bother gambling at all, since you can't cash out your earnings any way.

No, because I am just doing my normal routine and since crypto gambling isn't banned then I will continue with it.

It seems so, but that is not my concern if it is irrelevant or not.

Well, i just keep on enjoying crypto gambling then.  After all the fund is intended for gambling, can consider it as payment for entertainment.  :D  Btw, I don't gamble to earn lots of money, I gamble because I see it as form of entertainment.  If in case I have Bitcoin and I can't find any place to spend it since it is illegal but using it on gambling is legal then I'll just spend it there.

When I got to the part where you ask if someone would send his coins to a casino to accumulate coins I was wondering: since when does anyone make a profit from gambling? As far as I know, since gambling has existed they have never had the purpose of making people profitable, but rather they have always had the purpose of giving people fun, that has always been the sole purpose of gambling, if a person knows that the government of his country banned bitcoin so this person should keep the bitcoins in his wallet and keep the private keys well

it's the only solution, there's no such thing as accumulating coins with gambling, that's impossible, and I hope all people understand this well, I'm not being peximistic, I'm being very realistic, gambling is not extra income, it's all about fun . also in countries where bitcoin has been banned one will have to avoid playing with bitcoin, and the most sensible thing to do, if you want to play for fun then you will have to use fiat, if you use bitcoin to play it could be interpreted that you are breaking the rules laws of your country

I don't see much correlation between the Bitcoin ban and gambling betting.
Firstly, in my country gambling is prohibited, however we are "free" to place bets in online casinos, which for me fulfills all my addiction needs :D

However.... even if they ban Bitcoin in Brazil, I will still have the same "relationship" that I have today with cryptos... accumulating most of what I earn and spending part of it in online casinos.
I have the hope that when I need to withdraw the Bitcoin saved, I will still find a P2P to carry out the negotiation for Fiat or another product / service that I need.

If the government prohibits the utilization of BTC, I would very much attempt to use it in secret.

To be honest, this is one of the ways in making BTC obsolete- government prohibition by multiple countries can somehow destroy the reputation of BTC and its utilization. Remember when China prohibited mining cryptocurrencies in their country? This brought a significant impact to the cryptocurrency world in which its price in the market somehow lowered.

Personally, I would still attempt to use BTC and maximize the transactions but I would be careful due to its prohibition. If there are penal sanctions when caught, then I might actually wait for the government to change their view and actually allow for its usage in the country.

It would be a very unlikely scenario seeing my country to even considering a ban on Bitcoin and other kinds of crypto assets.

If they did so, it would be irrelevant for people here because the goverment does not have a realistic way to enforce a ban neither on Bitcoin nor on online casinos, they have already tried to ban webpages before and they always fail to do so, people would just get used to using a VPN and continue with their normal gambling sessions.

Of course, that would imply to gamble on casinos which are friendly towards the use of such tools.  Anyways, the fact Bitcoin cannot be banned it is just another proof it works as intended, which is why it is so attractive for gamblers around the world.

That's the point, even if government has banned cryptocurrencies, it doesn't mean that cryptocurrencies have become worthless or the government would never change their mind, so one should obviously just keep their Bitcoins somewhere safe and wait for the future, by the time you remember that you have some Bitcoins stored somewhere a few years back and the price is over its previous all-time high at that moment.

Gambling away every single dime you have is not a good idea at all, no matter how much time does the market takes to go up again if it's down by the time your government bans it and you want to sell them which I wouldn't recommend at all. Holding is the best solution.

The best course of action will depend not only on the laws passed on the country in which you live, but also on how serious is the government about implementing those laws, after all there are many governments out there which make all kind of claims, but truth to be told they do not have the personal or the money to even implement some of the most important and basic laws, so in that case it is unlikely you will get caught even if you use bitcoin when you are supposed not to.

It is in your poll there are no other options, except for the two voiced. In reality, there are always options, the best of which everyone tries to choose for themselves.

Since I no longer play gambling games, the option of sending coins in an online casino immediately disappears.

The ban on crypto trading doesn't bother me too much either. Let them ban - I'm not interested.

If cryptocurrencies are banned, in principle, in general, then another conversation arises here. It will always be possible to find a government and a country more loyal to cryptocurrencies. Also, those who are loyal to online gambling and don't plan to ban this area.

I think it's very bad idea to wait for your government to change its decision on many things including banning crypto. It can take years to wait for governing party to be replaced by pro-crypto one. It is much better just to pull it away to casinos to play then wait for years to come. I feel like casinos may consider to give crypto depositing service to customers so people with such issues can feel relaxed. (I know you can deposit to your casino but I mean even more extended wallet support)

It's great if you use your allotted money for gambling for the purpose of having fun and don't expect to double that money.
Because some gamblers have such thoughts.
If bitcoin is banned as a medium of exchange or something like that, maybe it can still be used for gambling, but you still have to be careful because when the country imposes the ban, there must also be supervision efforts carried out by the competent parliament in the country itself.
I personally will also do the same thing because that way it will be easier for us to take advantage of the Bitcoin we have without worrying about problems that might occur.

If I have a good retentive memory, I think 2 years ago when China place ban on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, there were some people that were still trading on Binance and in other rexchanges. I might not like centralized exchanges but I commend there effort for allowing people still trade bitcoin to their local currency. The last time I was surfing through Binance exchange, I was surprised that they have some Chinese merchant that were still trading on p2p exchange. I think even if a country place a ban on bitcoin, there will always be an alternative to sell their coins for fiat. The only fear is that Casino and exchanges can restrict access to your funds and to fight back will be difficult because you it's actual illegal to use them.

It depends on the country, when government put a ban on crypto in my country, the only way left for them to know if I am still doing illegal crypto transaction is my bank account and as someone who don't use bank account for any crypto related transaction I was free.

Ban on crypto will affect using your crypto to purchase or make transaction in the country, you can't go to store nearby and use crypto to pay, since it's illegal, but online? I won't worry much, I wonder how they will know, all you have to do is use peer to peer and you are free.

This won't stop me from gambling on any online casinos either, it makes no sense, because we have DEX platforms and also P2P ways of buying and selling crypto.

Your assertion on BTC online gambling makes sense, given it's legal in your area and you trust the platforms. Yet, the bid to maintain secrecy to dodge scrutiny is troubling. We don't back unlawful activities or their semblance here. Remember, every move has repercussions. Stay updated on your country's crypto rules. Ignorance isn't a defense. It's better to withdraw coins if you sense legal ambiguity than gamble. Be prudent, because safety always comes first!

Actually, Telecom operators have the record of everything you do on the internet if you are using the internet service of your mobile sim card, and even if you use a local WIFI connection, even they can see what you are doing online, every single thing, so it's not like they would never know that you are using cryptocurrencies online or using applications or platforms that involve cryptocurrencies unless they are not tracking you.

Also, what makes you think that it is only you who knows about the cryptocurrency gambling websites and they won't know about them? They know everything, and if they ban cryptocurrencies, they will also ban every single platform or website that involves cryptocurrencies.

This is the general rule once you do get involved with gambling is that only make use of the amount on which you could afford to lose because thats gambling on which there's a high chance that you would really
lose big time if you cant be able to control yourself because once you do find yourself that impulsive then you would really be commiting out decisions which arent supposed to be done in the first place.

Going back into the topic about playing on a casino while its ban or tending to be banned on your country? This is a common sense that you should avoid but if you are that hardheaded then
you could always have the choice to go against or violate but dont regret on the time that you would really be facing up some consequences on the time that you would get caught.
We do have our own will and common sense on which we could really be able to make use on such situations on which we could be able to identify on whats good and whats bad.lol

So basically you're asking us to incriminate ourselves here lol.  I have always been the type of person and been of the type of mind that if something is not morally wrong, yet my government has laws against it or bans it, then I'll probably still do  "it", whatever "it" is, if I think that it's in my "god given" right to do so.  I'm of the mind that the government needs to stay out of our business, and this would be no different gambling wise.

Regulatory changes do not really affect someone to keep commitments. My country has banned gambling for a long time, that doesn't mean there wasn't any gambling at all. Likewise crypto even if it were to be banned completely though, I think the situation would go back to the time when crypto was not regulated like using non-local platforms.

And it's fortunate that if people have kept their privacy in mind over their bitcoin holdings from the start, they can still be as free to gamble as ever.

If the country prohibits gambling then obviously we cannot play because it will endanger ourselves whereas if Bitcoin is banned we will still be able to gamble but use fiat as payment at the casino.

but apparently neither. because what I know so far some countries may have banned gambling and also Bitcoin but in reality there are still lots of people who use Bitcoin in everything such as gambling and any investment.
and vice versa even though gambling is prohibited but there are still a large proportion of gamblers from countries that prohibit gambling to continue to gamble in various ways.

so this is actually just an illusion for me because the more sophisticated the technology, all countries will recognize what bitcoin is and it will not be possible for all countries to ban bitcoin.

You can continue to gamble online with BTC without worrying as long as you can play at a trusted casino. And as long as your government continues to allow gambling, you don't have to worry either. What matters is that your government gives you permission for what you want to do. Otherwise, you will be suspected of doing something illegal and the government can investigate and arrest you. But if your government doesn't allow trading, you better not try to break it because the government can catch you. It's better for us to follow the regulations while waiting for the notification from the government so we can stay safe. And if you still have coins in trade, it is better to withdraw them immediately so you don't run into any problems.
We can't do anything with that oversight because we also don't want to be seen as violating the rules that have been set and enforced. The important thing is that we always try to find out about crypto developments in our country so that we don't intentionally or unintentionally break the rules. Moreover, if the government changes its regulations one day, we must also seek information from reliable sources. If necessary, we can ask the government office to get valid information so we don't take the wrong step later.

Believing in eternal cover-up for such actions, in the advancing digital age, is illusory. Therefore, it's prudent to stay within the legal bounds when using cryptocurrencies, instead of attempting to bypass regulations. This path is ultimately more enduring and safe.

I would think that while crypto gambling being taken down would result in a sharp price decline in crypto prices, I doubt it would have a permanently damaging effect. Why in the world would I give up my Bitcoins just because casinos got taken out?

Cryptocurrency is much much more than only crypto casinos.

Ironically giving up your coins in such a case would be a bad bet against the future of crypto.

Also, I very much doubt that you will not be able to gamble with crypto in other countries, in which crypto gambling has not been outlawed. So the coins definitely will not lose their value (at least not long term) over something small like this.

I doubt I will ever want to trade in my coins for fiat again.

The decision for what to do with the coins after crypto trading has been banned, either to gamble with it to try to get more or just withdraw and keep will be determined by my ability in gambling. Since I know that I am not a good gambler, and do not have any winning certainty, deciding to want to still go ahead to gamble means I just want to waste that money. My desire is to make more money from what I have, gambling is not the only way to achieve this, so I will withdraw the money and find other ways to multiply the money, or just decide to keep holding the Bitcoins until they increase and my country becomes less against Bitcoins.

Probably withdrawing is the best option here or perhaps sending some of your crypto to a casino if you still want still to gamble, as you won't be allowed to do that after the crypto ban takes effect in your country. The choice here depends on the gambler himself. If you believe that you can make more money through gambling during the ban, then it may be worth sending some of your crypto to a gambling site. However, if you don't want to take that risk withdrawing your money would be the safest option imo.

There's no such thing as a good gambler ;D Mabe with the exception of those who engage in gambling activities only when they spot an opportunity when the advantage is on their side (but those are rare).
Gambling by definition is a way of losing money, not a way of accumulation, so the OP's question is pretty daft.

Totally just common sense and its true that this question is having no sense, why would you play if casino in your county would be planning to be banned? specially on bitcoin? Wont be surprising

if they would really be remaining those fiat based which is something that government would really be allowing in default. In personal point of view on which it would really be that normal that you

would really be avoiding on playing but if you are really that eager on playing gambling using up crypto then you could always use up some VPN which it could make things possible but to keep in mind that you are really that putting your risks when it comes to consequences but even though this stuff is prohibited but due to likeness on playing then you wouldnt bother nor care at all.

Never ever. Use third-party applications only with how they are created. Either to exchange our cryptocurrencies for our own currency or just send it to another crypto user in speed.

Never go against the government because there's no such thing as a secret to them, especially to those who own loads of amount of Bitcoin. They will not keep themselves silent and allow it to be non-taxable. Regarding gambling, I would not mind just quitting if ever the government bans Bitcoin. But, if there are available cryptocurrencies, why not?
The perk of using this is because of the cheap way to bet. You can play as long as you like with just satoshis of bets and it doesn't matter to the gambling sites as long as you are losing. ;D
Banning the gambling site itself though is non-negotiable, better find a new hobby.

I don't have such an urge. I'll have my limits, just because trading gonna be banned and cryptocurrencies on gambling to be legalized my gambling activity won't differ. In all time period we should have our limits, through which we'll be able to enjoy the goodness. We should not have the urge to gambling, because that's kind of addiction. Even with trade it isn't a big thing, because losing won't cause you big loss, but gambling could finish the entire funds in the wallet.

I have relatives in every country, if they can play then I ask them to gamble for me effectively.   I dont see the point in these absolute laws when people can travel though I realize some countries you are not allowed to go on holiday so maybe such reasoning is applicable in that scenario.  Its mostly about tax and thats a failure because its far better to allow gambling and just take some cut towards taxation rather then attempt to ban or only allow the government lotto.

Is it true that what you mean is the betting limit? if true, you have a positive mindset to respond to this case if it occurs. because basically gambling is only for betting and having fun without any coercion and crypto trading is only for additional profit and if BTC is banned in our country surely we will not be affected having to make a profit in gambling like you said. gambling will forever be just a place for fun and if BTC is also banned in my country there may still be other alternatives to be able to gamble responsibly for entertainment purposes only like using fiat in local gambling.

I really appreciate someone who has a mindset like you who is wise in responding to a problem.

At that point your only option may be to hold your coins, after all if trading bitcoin is forbidden where you live this also includes P2P transactions, so there is not much that a person can do in that scenario, you either hold your coins or you move to a country in which you can buy and sell bitcoin, however such an extreme move would only make sense if you have a lot of bitcoin, now you could also decide to go against the law and hope to not get caught, but by doing this you will be taking a massive risk.

Yes, including my country, maybe there are several countries that prohibit bitcoin like in my country 5 years ago, maybe because they haven't set taxes, so in my country, I have given a little freedom now to bitcoin holders and consider bitcoin as a commodity asset, so there are also many crypto exchanges in my country is taxed for the government, that's why it's just a matter of taxes it's not really prohibited because something that is prohibited as long as taxes and income for the country are there, everything will be safe.

After all, banning doesn't necessarily mean that people will follow government rules, while things that are prohibited actually make people even more happy to hide and play behind the scenes, currently in my country bitcoin holders feel safe and comfortable, but gambling casinos in my country are still banned whereas before it's perfectly legal but maybe not out of the question of tax i think it might benefit the state if casinos were taxed i hope it becomes legal one day.  :D

I'm not that good in gambling but I think I wouldn't risk it as well just because it is legal. I'd rather sell it on someone online whose country isn't illegalized crypto trading than risk it for gamble which in fact may just loss it. I think waiting will be good if you have other sources of income but if you want the money badly then selling it will be a good idea.

Yes, we can't go against the government because the government has resources that we don't know about and they can find us even if we hide. The government wants to get taxes from its citizens, so it seems to tighten its rules to make them obey the law. And it's better for us to follow the regulations ourselves while waiting for developments and updates from the government so we won't get into trouble. Stop gambling or stop trading for a while doesn't matter. Rather than we are going to get in trouble, maybe the government wants to do something about crypto and maybe the reform will allow citizens to use crypto freely.

Your interpretation, as I understand it, implies that the allure of gambling and crypto might lead folks to dodge bans via VPNs. It's a fascinating interplay of human curiosity, risk tolerance, and the enchantment of the crypto realm. However, such a view appears to bypass the essence of crypto – decentralization and liberty, which demand accountability and adherence to legal rules. Cryptos offer us a revolutionary medium to change economic dynamics but should not be a reason to cross legal lines.

Additionally, remember that laws, albeit sometimes slower than tech, eventually adapt. Ignoring these constraints might lead to short-term thrill but risk staining crypto's reputation, delaying its mass acceptance. Legal engagements would better support the endurance of the crypto world.

To accumulate? I would not think of that because in gambling, there's no assurance that we will win. Instead, I would just trade it for fiat to ensure I will get my money. I would not risk waiting for the time it will be banned, just to keep it safe. I would withdraw and probably invest the funds in other stocks or online investments, or even start my own business.

Gambling and investing should be different. If we gamble, we can become too desperate and might easily accept the loss and our bitcoin will be gone for nothing.

Gambling is very risky which means the possibility of losing my funds is high. I don't think I will even consider increasing my gambling budget because my income did not increase. Using VPN and other means might be illegal so the best option will be to stop trading for the time being and focus on other investment areas or become a long-term hodler. I will hodl and keep monitoring my investment until I get to my selling price. I don't mind moving to another country to do my Bitcoin transaction and return to my country. Bitcoin is a lifetime investment, so even if you decide to keep your coins until the government lifts the ban, that's still okay because Bitcoin is gradually becoming a globally accepted currency. But channeling my trading funds to gambling is unacceptable.

I don’t even see the correlation that you guys are trying to paint here. It doesn’t make sense how these two could be mashed in the same conversation when these are two completely different schools of thought that caters to different user bases. You could gamble even if bitcoin’s legalized in your country. And if you could still gamble using crypto on your country I’ll bet my bottom dollar you’d still be able to trade even amidst the restriction that your country will impose upon you

It’s absurd to think you guys are really thinking of gambling as a substitute income venture for trading. Which couldn’t be any father from the truth.

I agree, I mean if you keep gambling then when it gets banned it is going to be a bit of a trouble and I would not really be happy about that. I think it is a lot better if we could just ignore all that and instead focus on what we could do with it. I know that a lot of people would gamble because that's what they do but that's a wrong move and they should just tur nit into fiat.

I can see why people may want to keep it in crypto as well, like just don't turn that into fiat, but definitely not gambling. It is quite obvious that we are going to end up with a bad result when the time comes and it shouldn't really be easy choice. Just forget about gambling, and instead do what you would do if there was no ban, or just cash it out to fiat if you want to.

Of course both trading and gambling would still be possible after a ban and China is a great example of this. They banned trading, then mining and both trading and mining were happening in China despite the ban. The only thing you weren't able to do is exchange btc for fiat but you were able to do it using cash, outside the law.

I'd never obey the law that is stupid and made to oppress people. I wouldn't stop using bitcoin for any reason and laws made by my government would never stop me from owning it. It's not up to my government to decide what I can and cannot hold, as long as this isn't something that can be dangerous to people around me. I'd understand if they did not want me to hold radioactive or explosive stuff, but virtual goods? Come on, this is stupid, I would never agree to this.

Yes, it is different. But the asset you are playing for and trying to win is not being valued by the government you're in. That is the case with OP's post. I would say that if you have that faith that the coin you are holding will last longer than the time horizon of your country banning the cryptocurrency, then it will be worth it. If you don't have that, then better to cash out all the funds that you have invested in then have a lesser exposure bot in crypto gambling and crypto alone.

It will be rewarding if you keep it. Because crypto is universal. You can use it anywhere. That if you have a chance to get on another country, then you can use it.

I stand by your view on mindful usage of third-party apps and being tax-savvy with Bitcoin. Governments have their methods, and outsmarting the system is fool's gold. Yet, I question your stance on the gambling bit. Sure, Bitcoin's low-stakes appeal is enticing, but let's flip the coin. How about the risk of addiction it carries? Is the fleeting thrill worth the potential fallout?

As for seeking another pastime if Bitcoin gambling gets the boot, brilliant remedy indeed. Maybe this ban could be a wake-up call, redirecting our vigor towards less hazardous and more rewarding endeavors.

Each person is free to do what they want as long as they are willing to accept the consequences of their actions, however assuming that where you live bitcoin was banned then you need to take some measures to protect yourself, like never revealing that you are holding your bitcoin even prior to such ban, otherwise your local government will know about your involvement with bitcoin and they may put some unwanted attention to you and caught you breaking the law.

An addicted gambler will not be having a single second thought if their country bans bitcoin or gambling they will go for a different route to access their site and gamble again. These are just things to write and eye wash in front of the population if done but it does not stop gambling at all. That can happen only if the gambler decides to stop gambling themselves.

These are hazardous, no doubt, but the confidence of a gambler is difficult to control.

It's no wonder that gamblers will have many ways to keep gambling even though there is a ban on the use of Bitcoin by the government and a gambler who is also a crypto user has sufficient technological intelligence so they can do anything.
Even though they have a big risk of being punished if they get caught, a gambling addict doesn't care about that kind of thing as long as they can do what they want to gamble.

But if we play it safe, I'm sure the government will never be able to track the gambling activities that are being carried out.

I don't have such an urge. I'll have my limits, just because trading gonna be banned and cryptocurrencies on gambling to be legalized my gambling activity won't differ.
Some people might end up diverting all their money into gambling, just because they believe that's the last thing which they will do is start gambling with it, they wont maintain the way they have been gambling before, and gambling is really risky, your chances of losing money is really high.

If cryptocurrency is ban in my country, i will rather stop trading and send all my coins to a non custodial wallet for future purpose, maybe when they will unban bitcoin, bitcoin will have being really massive, its better than gambling with it because i know with time i might end up losing everything in gambling.

Why would anyone play more on a Bitcoin casino when the law of the land is planning to ban Bitcoin? In such a situation, it is better to keep holding them in a non-custodial wallet until the government changes the decision or you find another way to continue gambling. I do not agree with going against the law as if caught it will cause serious repercussions to you and your family. If you still want to gamble then use local fiat on an online casino to feed your addiction. I would not want to take in stupid risk and destroy my present, I will always find alternate ways to continue with what I was doing before the ban.

Personally, it will change nothing because I have been gambling casually through online and land casino (depends on my mood) even before I met bitcoin. It's just that cryptocurrency gave me a whole lot of options when I'm betting towards online casinos, especially during Covid-19 as I have no other things to do at that time aside from my job that changed to a "work from home setting". So, if my government will ban btc, I will always go back to the use of fiat.

So, you argue that people might risk their finances by gambling because they believe it'll be their last act of gambling... an intriguing, albeit a paradoxical perspective. You know, your assertion brings to mind the concept of 'the gambler's fallacy.' This idea that, if something happens more frequently during a period, it's less likely to happen in the future, can be misleading. Gambling doesn't work on a basis of 'due events.' Each bet is statistically independent, and previous outcomes don't influence future ones

Concerning cryptocurrencies, your plan to transfer your coins to a non-custodial wallet during a ban is a prudent one, indeed. This "waiting out the storm" strategy demonstrates both foresight and discipline. As they say, caution is the parent of safety! But keep in mind, just as with gambling, there are risks involved in cryptocurrency. The market's volatility, regulatory concerns, cybersecurity threats...each factor is worth considering.

while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.

That is a hard question to answer, because my country is so open that I can't really imagine how it would feel like if crypto currencies would get banned suddenly. In case this would happen today I would probably stop buying any new crypto currencies, but keep all my existing coins and hold them. I can understand that a government is afraid of crypto and doesn't want its citizens to buy too many coins, so that they rather stick to making transaction with fiat money. But what I can't understand is that the government would force me to sell all my crypto holdings. Luckily it would be hard to the government to check who holds cryptos and who doesn't. As for gambling with crypto currencies I would probably keep gambling with my existing bankroll and see how far I can go with it. When it comes to bans, they are usually not forever, because when in 4 years we are getting new elections, the new government might want to revert the ban on cryptos.

 -  If that's the plan of the government, I will take out my Bitcoin instead of not being able to take out my Bitcoin in a casino. There are other governments that are really unfair and unfair, sometimes you think that no one thinks of a good and sensible strategy for the country they are governing.

Besides, there are still many options for us to use our Bitcoin to play gambling that accepts cryptocurrency and there are still many ways to use Bitcoin.

Good point. It doesn't mean it will be forever. There are officials who once elected have promises to the people and a lot of them now are from younger generations and are open to accepting cryptocurrencies for the better of the country.
I think those who does it are the officials who are not corrupted because they know the risk if that happens. It means transparency to everything they will do and people can see everything they spend publicly on the internet.
About banning the usage of cryptocurrencies in gambling, I firmly believe that won't happen in the long run. Cryptocurrency gambling had been an accessible way to deposit money because some banks are so strict that they don't let people use their services for gambling activities.
Well, for me I'd still rather use cryptocurrencies and not just because I can hide it but also because we can bet on gambling sites valued lower than a cent of a dollar which for me is a good thing especially those who just want to have fun.

It won't be a problem for gambling or the gamblers where the government has ban cryptocurrency. Casinos have options of playing with fiat or crypto so if the option for crypto betting is stopped, you continue using your fiat to gamble. So they are different and one doesn't stop the other. If the government decides to stop cryptocurrency, then the use of fiat can serve just like offline casinos that use fiat in gambling.

I will stop playing if the government will stop all online casinos and gambling sites. But as it was still available, even though the government ban Bitcoin this will never affect gamblers. They might ban Bitcoin but not ban crypto, so we can use ETH or any altcoins as long as it was acceptable. Gamblers still have the option and as I said, once gambling sites are open, people will still gamble. And besides, the government is also benefiting from these casinos as they collect some fees and taxes.

Accumulate? Gambling can lead to reduction of your funds as well, so I wouldn't use gambling as a way to earn more bitcoin. It should be fun, or a social event. It shouldn't be seen as a way of making money, unless you're on a tournament level.
If my country banned bitcoin chances are it would also enforce a ban on the casinos, so that they would not allow people from my country to gamble, which means I'd have to be careful with my bets.
I'd probably keep all of my money on hardware wallets and either move somewhere else, or wait for them to rethink it.

Well if that's the case, I'll stop too knowing that casinos will be aware of it and will ban the country too. Playing on a country that a casino is ban is just an additional risk in losing your money. But OP indicate that it's trading only. Nothing will change about my plans if exchanges were banned, I'll still continue to gamble like normal and will not do rush bets just to accumulate profits that I potentially lost from banned exchanges. It will be an easy lose if you will just keep pushing your self into aiming big profits on casino as an alternative to trading profits.

Bitcoin and gambling are not the same thing and gambling can never be an alternative to Bitcoin. which is why we might be encouraged to gamble if Bitcoin is banned in our country. Even if Bitcoin is banned in the country, we can use Bitcoin because the government of the country can never control a non-custodial wallet. And in non-custodial wallet there is never any risk in using vpn because there is a private key enough to control the funds and keep them safe. So even if there is a Bitcoin ban in my country I will not be interested in gambling but I will continue to use Bitcoin despite the ban.  But I gamble only for fun

But with how we have gone so far in gambling and cryptocurrency today, governments can only deal with the gambling platforms by giving them some warnings as threats with issues concerning regulations but i don't think they can stop the use of cryptocurrency even of the law forbids such, p2p network is not what one can easily influenced like that especially when the people were so much involved in its adoption, they have made several moves in the past as well over gambling but due to how gamblers were so committed in gambling, they couldn't make a stand, so to talk about the reality here, I don't think government can ban cryptocurrency and if they do, people will still make use of it since its a p2p network.

If a country's government allows crypto gambling even after banning BTC, I don't think there will be any problem as gambling is officially sanctioned, they must find a way. I will definitely not be upset in this situation and I will continue my gambling. Also I have not found any such restriction in my country where BTC is banned but crypto gambling is allowed. At that moment i will try to transfer my assets to others non custodial wallet and conduct gambling with limited amount until the government allowed but personally i will never stop my gambling.

That's how we treat gambling so we won't get into trouble. And it is true that Covid-19 has placed more restrictions on playing gambling at land-based casinos, so we spend more of our time gambling online. But it seems like yesterday's Covid-19 made many gamblers turn to online casinos, whether fiat or crypto, because they obviously couldn't visit land-based casinos. But I think even if our government bans the use of BTC, some people will still use crypto for gambling.

If my country decides to ban something like that, I would still play, I have learned that a government cannot kneel before anything, if the giboerno nod says that it is not because they do not want us to earn the money we Deserve , therefore a government for me they will never fight to give us the rights we deserve, or to give us a better future, a government or the rulers will only seek power for themselves and so that they can emerge despite the suffering of a People , I think this attitude is almost at the level global,. I have seen government Situations , in the USA, in Europe and things tend to be like That, only People do not Realize it and some believe Strongly in them.

I wouldn't play more. It wouldn't affect my habits at all. I'd gamble the way I'm doing now, using overseas casinos that don't care about my country's stance towards bitcoin.
I also wouldn't sell my coins, but I'd be more careful about sending them to exchanges, since these can be the main target of a government crackdown.

To be honest, no country can stop bitcoin at this point. It can only be slowed down.

I am sure that any crypto enthusiast will not be stopped by bans. We don't care what those in power want. They have taken good care of themselves for a long time, and we need to be able to take care of ourselves as well. You can not allow yourself to impose restrictions, because cryptocurrencies are Freedom.

Perhaps I am a little anarchic in my views, but I remember perfectly well how we all resented the introduction of KYC on exchanges, because it was another attempt to make cryptocurrencies not anonymous. It's a pity that this happened.

Therefore, if the government bans casinos and cryptocurrencies in my country, I will not obey it in any way.

They are still planning it which means Bitcoin casinos are still there and then people might still be allowed to play. If that is the case then I will surely play more using my Bitcoins because this might be the last time that I can do this. I think you are not safe even though you will transfer your Bitcoins in a non-custodial wallet so I won't advise doing that.

It would be better to use all your Bitcoins or convert them into other legal assets. Just re-invest in Bitcoin later on if they will be allowed again in your country. Non-Bitcoin casinos are still there but many of us here are not a fan of them. We can only look at the bright side and that is we won't lose our money anymore and possibly threaten ours and the others lives through Bitcoin gambling.

I feel like there might be a wave of bets being placed by people who like to gamble, but it would gradually subside over time and people would probably switch to using fiat currency if any gambling was allowed. The sort of government that would ban crypto would probably align with the type that would already restrict gambling. It's also a method of control which less free countries do, so they can coerce their citizens more easily by restricting their financial options. I would probably just leave the crypto safe in a wallet and not touch it any more in this scenario, consider it a long term investment that could make up a big part of the portfolio in future and possibly cash out in a different country where it's legal later on.

Very well said mate, I've always said it that, crypto investors who sell off their crypto holdings all because the country they live in banned crypto, do not have sense.

Nigeria, my dear country have banned crypto transactions across the entire country, and even asked banks to freeze any account found to be involved in crypto, this ban has been in place for more than 2 years now, and here we are, still buying, selling, accumulating crypto, and most times when in need of cash, I still sell some of my crypto, convert the money to fiat and withdraw to my bank account..
A ban is only effective is the people are willing to obey it, a government can not arrest and prosecute the entire citizens of country, not possible.

I don't think it will change my gambling spending. My gambling spending depends on my current financial situation and my available time because there are times when I am very busy. So if ever bitcoin and altcoins are going to get banned in my country, I will continue to hold them and of course, accumulate them. Generally, there are more crypto adoptions rather than more countries banning them. Even China could change its stance given the current situation in Hongkong wherein it is now accepting and even inviting crypto firms.

And there are always the peer to peer transactions everywhere. Bitcoin and crypto demand are getting high so I won't be surprised if the rate becomes even more higher in a country where it is banned. Plus if ever a ban happens in a democratic and open country like mine, it won't take that long before the authorities will reconsider accepting them again otherwise it will be left behind.

Im not really that much of a gambler but i do have some experience on playing on a casino but only on a certain amount but that only happened once because i dont really like the ambiance or simply that im just
Claustrophobic type of person who doesnt really like on joining or seeing lots of people on an enclosed space. This is why i do much prefer on playing online and if ever the country would be deciding that they would really be banning out gambling then you could always be having the option. If ever they would ban online gambling then you could make use of VPN, if they would tend to ban physical then you can simply go with online.
This is why its not really that something that could totally be able to ban out if ever the government would really be planning on doing so. Play according into things which you do know on whats good and whats bad for you.

I'm not a lawyer, but I believe that bitcoin is a currency, so if a government bans bitcoin in your country, then that means that people in that country can't keep withdrawing bitcoin to their country, and they can't put money in the country either. bank to buy bitcoin, but that's only if it's a bank in that country, but people from that country can use their bitcoin to play in the casino, that's because the government hasn't banned online casinos and online casinos are in another jurisdiction, so there's no problem for people from the country that banned bitcoin to play in casinos using their bitcoins

Another very important thing is that, most of the time, this attitude of banning bitcoin in a country is something ridiculous, because those countries that have this behavior belong to ruling regimes, so people from those countries will not comply with such a meaningless measure, it would make sense if the government was banning something that harms people, but bitcoin does not harm anyone, so this type of measure makes no sense. if someone asked such governments: how many people in your country has bitcoin harmed? I guarantee the people in the government don't know

That's exactly how it should be, or even if someone can't use fiat for gambling as there might not be land-based casinos available around them, they can simply just use the same amount of Bitcoins that they used to use before their government had banned Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, I see no sense in gambling all your Bitcoins away only because of a ban, one can always keep them somewhere safe and use them later in their life when the ban might be left or you might be in another country.

So personally, I would never gamble all my Bitcoins just because my government has banned Bitcoin but I would hold them in a non-custodial wallet and keep them for as long as I can because maybe some day in the future, I get to use them somewhere that might benefit me in some way.

Many people nowadays like to play online gambling because they can hide their identity, especially if they play gambling using crypto. After all, that means they can play gambling anonymously. If the government prohibits gambling for its citizens, you better not violate it because they can track down their citizens who often gamble. And even though you can use a VPN, the government can still find out, but now many casinos prohibit VPNs, so you must be careful if you plan to use a VPN. Maybe you should be able to find a casino that still allows its users to use a VPN, so you shouldn't have a problem unless your government tries hard to find its gambling citizens.

That's true, but I don't think the government or even the casino care with small gamblers who broke their rules.

For the casino side, they might still allow gambler to use VPN even though they've stated in their TOS for not using VPN during gambling. But as long as the gambler is losing money, it will make the casino get benefit.

While the government, catching someone need to process many thing, if it's small gamblers, they will not get any benefit since they can't bribe the police.

The government or the casinos don't care about small gamblers because the small gamblers don't win much money. And even if the little gambler won some money, it wouldn't be as much as the other gamblers. So the casinos don't pay much attention to the little gamblers, but if one day they manage to win big money, the casinos will start checking their accounts to see if there is any suspicion that they are cheating.

And when gamblers start to win big money using VPNs, casinos can ask them for proof by starting to ask them to do KYC. This will be a problem for gamblers because some of them cannot do KYC or even refuse it.

or will accuse them of breaking TOS eg using VPN. this always ends up a zucker for the casino player when they lose while using VPN its just fine but winning big will bring issues to their account. we have seen accusations before and most of the time casino wins.

i was just thinking of playing it all win or lose just gamble it all after all the government may impose penalties on those holders if caught. maybe one could agree to the thought.

Yes, it would be easy for casinos to accuse their members of violating the TOS and impose penalties such as temporarily blocking their accounts or not being able to withdraw their money within a certain period. Perhaps playing everything to win or lose is doable as long as we can accept what will happen after we use the money. But most people will not be able to accept the result if it is a loss and start accusing the casino of cheating when they are the ones who are cheating.

It would be so unwise to expend my money on gambling as an alternative just because the government propose to ban crypto operations in the country. It's an incontrovertible fact that reasons as this is what makes non-custodial wallets of a necessity that I can push a good amount of my funds to my wallet and hodl as long as necessary stead of lavishing it on gambling under the idea of doubling it. Only a little amount I can leave for my gambling just to keep up with the little fun I derive from gambling same time trying to make a win.

I wouldn't do that.

You can easily keep bitcoin on your hardware wallet or with a desktop wallet while keeping the private keys/seeds of it written unknown by the government.

If you've got some extra money to flee and go outside the country so that you can sell those Bitcoins and have it back again in your country, that's a better thing to do.

But anyway, if you think that it's best to just gamble and lose your precious bitcoins because the government is about to ban it. That's your choice.

There is no sense in gambling all the funds inside our wallets just because the government are planning to ban bitcoin and the use of other cryptocurrency, if that is what the people are thinking, I don't doubt why they are losing frequently because they have that kind of mindset. We always have a choice even though our own government is banning the existence of bitcoin, we can still go back to the basic and gamble like nothing happened.

Such a mindset is indeed very bad for spending the entire contents of the wallet because of something that makes gamblers unable to control themselves and even though even if the government bans bitcoin or crypto there are still other ways to keep gambling responsibly as discussed by some people here by moving to gambling use fiats.
Maybe it's not as interesting as betting using bitcoin but at least you can still continue gambling but don't have to use large amounts.

No doubt why they are feeling unlucky because they are treating the government's move to ban the bitcoin as if it's already the end of the world where they feel the urge to pour all their remaining resources in one go while they can still play because in the following days and months, all of it will change.

What they don't see is the other side, where there are still plenty of things to do from those remaining coins they have. But since they are a gambler and just thinking about their habits, I see why they have a poor decision making.

On the time that you do see that government is really having those kind of restrictions already then why would really be trying out to force on playing if you do see that its being banned on your country?
In this case then you would really be avoiding on playing for you to have that trying to avoid trouble and consequences on which it is really that a normal approach. This is on the time that you would really be considering
on playing on online casinos which it is really that hard to be traced up and this is why users would easily be playing out gambling without being traced or being caught. There are lots of various ways for someone to be able to play specially online. If fiat casinos online had been banned then you could easily switch up on crypto based ones on which you could really be having an options. In overall, banning would be useless
and in todays accessibility then it would really be that so easy to bypass out these kind of restrictions if ever this one would be pushed through.

They must learn how to properly store bitcoins and not be bothered by the government. The use of a hardware wallet is the most secure storage without third parties and you alone have full control. Those who sell bitcoins out of fear that bitcoin regulations ban bitcoin entirely will certainly not have a future advantage when those regulations change. just need to see and wait how bitcoin will be received in the future without strict regulation.

You can't really blame them or judge them. What if that's really their plans on how they'd use their coins? I think that's okay so long as they're seeing a use for bitcoin or crypto for that matter. Not every crypto that you hold would serve as your retirement plan, or something that will give you profits in the near future. Some are buying crypto for the sole purpose of gambling and that's okay. Even I will do it if I have the financial capability to waste a lot of money and just gamble all day, as more crypto casinos are way generous compared to their traditional counterparts.

The government that announce ban on bitcoin will lift the ban in another two weeks, months or years. This is happening with different countries, so it is always good to secure it. Someday we'll get access to make use of it. Just because usage is banned we shouldn't focus into gambling which is wrong, because we'll play with a mentality of losing. There are incidents in which people have travelled to nearby countries to make use of their holdings fearing their country's legality on bitcoin usage.

Accumulate? Gambling can lead to reduction of your funds as well, so I wouldn't use gambling as a way to earn more bitcoin. It should be fun, or a social event. It shouldn't be seen as a way of making money, unless you're on a tournament level.
Gambling is really risky, if you are not careful you can easily lose everything you are having in gambling, but some people do take gambling as another way to make money which is wrong, am not saying anybody can’t make money from gambling, we all can make money but when gambling, their is no assurance that you are going to make money that’s why we all shouldn’t deposit money in gambling and have intention to grow the money, if you are not careful the money might end up reducing in price. Gambling should be don for fun incase if you win, you take your win and if you lose, then you will accept your faith, that’s why we should be able to control ourselves when gambling.

I'd probably keep all of my money on hardware wallets and either move somewhere else, or wait for them to rethink it.
The best thing is just to move money to hardware wallet, even if government ban crypto, they won’t even know you are holding any coin and you can peacefully hold it. Every government that’s against bitcoin currently won’t have choice than to support it later in the future, so sooner or later, all government will have to adopt bitcoin, they can’t keep on running away from the thought.

If my country would ban BTC or crypto gambling sites then I guess I would rather stop gambling than to go on casino,
And there are other online gambling sites right now some of the gambling sites that I saw are really similar or just a copy of crypto games that I usually play when gambling.
I don't want to gamble with those kind of sites or apps and I don't feel like gambling on casino either so if crypto gambling platforms would be ban from my country then I would just quit.

Indeed, those individuals do not have any idea as to how to hold on to thier Bitcoin. Infact it isn't possible for the government to ban Bitcoin. To ban it you would need to ban the internet, which is a highly unlikely scenario. Considering without the internet is part of day to day life in the 21st century.
