That is a hard question to answer, because my country is so open that I can't really imagine how it would feel like if crypto currencies would get banned suddenly. In case this would happen today I would probably stop buying any new crypto currencies, but keep all my existing coins and hold them. I can understand that a government is afraid of crypto and doesn't want its citizens to buy too many coins, so that they rather stick to making transaction with fiat money. But what I can't understand is that the government would force me to sell all my crypto holdings. Luckily it would be hard to the government to check who holds cryptos and who doesn't. As for gambling with crypto currencies I would probably keep gambling with my existing bankroll and see how far I can go with it. When it comes to bans, they are usually not forever, because when in 4 years we are getting new elections, the new government might want to revert the ban on cryptos.

Good point. It doesn't mean it will be forever. There are officials who once elected have promises to the people and a lot of them now are from younger generations and are open to accepting cryptocurrencies for the better of the country.
I think those who does it are the officials who are not corrupted because they know the risk if that happens. It means transparency to everything they will do and people can see everything they spend publicly on the internet.
About banning the usage of cryptocurrencies in gambling, I firmly believe that won't happen in the long run. Cryptocurrency gambling had been an accessible way to deposit money because some banks are so strict that they don't let people use their services for gambling activities.
Well, for me I'd still rather use cryptocurrencies and not just because I can hide it but also because we can bet on gambling sites valued lower than a cent of a dollar which for me is a good thing especially those who just want to have fun.

It won't be a problem for gambling or the gamblers where the government has ban cryptocurrency. Casinos have options of playing with fiat or crypto so if the option for crypto betting is stopped, you continue using your fiat to gamble. So they are different and one doesn't stop the other. If the government decides to stop cryptocurrency, then the use of fiat can serve just like offline casinos that use fiat in gambling.

Accumulate? Gambling can lead to reduction of your funds as well, so I wouldn't use gambling as a way to earn more bitcoin. It should be fun, or a social event. It shouldn't be seen as a way of making money, unless you're on a tournament level.
If my country banned bitcoin chances are it would also enforce a ban on the casinos, so that they would not allow people from my country to gamble, which means I'd have to be careful with my bets.
I'd probably keep all of my money on hardware wallets and either move somewhere else, or wait for them to rethink it.

Well if that's the case, I'll stop too knowing that casinos will be aware of it and will ban the country too. Playing on a country that a casino is ban is just an additional risk in losing your money. But OP indicate that it's trading only. Nothing will change about my plans if exchanges were banned, I'll still continue to gamble like normal and will not do rush bets just to accumulate profits that I potentially lost from banned exchanges. It will be an easy lose if you will just keep pushing your self into aiming big profits on casino as an alternative to trading profits.

Bitcoin and gambling are not the same thing and gambling can never be an alternative to Bitcoin. which is why we might be encouraged to gamble if Bitcoin is banned in our country. Even if Bitcoin is banned in the country, we can use Bitcoin because the government of the country can never control a non-custodial wallet. And in non-custodial wallet there is never any risk in using vpn because there is a private key enough to control the funds and keep them safe. So even if there is a Bitcoin ban in my country I will not be interested in gambling but I will continue to use Bitcoin despite the ban.  But I gamble only for fun

But with how we have gone so far in gambling and cryptocurrency today, governments can only deal with the gambling platforms by giving them some warnings as threats with issues concerning regulations but i don't think they can stop the use of cryptocurrency even of the law forbids such, p2p network is not what one can easily influenced like that especially when the people were so much involved in its adoption, they have made several moves in the past as well over gambling but due to how gamblers were so committed in gambling, they couldn't make a stand, so to talk about the reality here, I don't think government can ban cryptocurrency and if they do, people will still make use of it since its a p2p network.

If a country's government allows crypto gambling even after banning BTC, I don't think there will be any problem as gambling is officially sanctioned, they must find a way. I will definitely not be upset in this situation and I will continue my gambling. Also I have not found any such restriction in my country where BTC is banned but crypto gambling is allowed. That's how we treat gambling so we won't get into trouble. And it is true that Covid-19 has placed more restrictions on playing gambling at land-based casinos, so we spend more of our time gambling online. I am sure that any crypto enthusiast will not be stopped by bans. We don't care what those in power want. They have taken good care of themselves for a long time, and we need to be able to take care of ourselves as well. You can not allow yourself to impose restrictions, because cryptocurrencies are Freedom.

In such a situation, it is better to keep holding them in a non-custodial wallet until the government changes the decision or you find another way to continue gambling. I do not agree with going against the law as if caught it will cause serious repercussions to you and your family. If you still want to gamble then use local fiat on an online casino to feed your addiction. I would not want to take in stupid risk and destroy my present, I will always find alternate ways to continue with what I was doing before the ban.

I feel like there might be a wave of bets being placed by people who like to gamble, but it would gradually subside over time and people would probably switch to using fiat currency if any gambling was allowed. The sort of government that would ban crypto would probably align with the type that would already restrict gambling. It's also a method of control which less free countries do, so they can coerce their citizens more easily by restricting their financial options. I would probably just leave the crypto safe in a wallet and not touch it any more in this scenario, consider it a long term investment that could make up a big part of the portfolio in future and possibly cash out in a different country where it's legal later on.
