Looking at effective price of altcoins ETH has not really record a bad history and very soon ETH will hit way bigger and better, if you have sphere money buy plenty of it and allow it to run for five years and watch what the outcome will be. Ethereum has come to stay but what is of concern to me is all these newbies coming out now and thinking all these big cap projects are going to give them a life changing profit. You need to look for low market cap projects that can give them 20X to 100X return on investment. Ethereum and co have made people millionaires already you need new project that can make you million unless you are a millionaire already, just like the Doge, Shib, Pepe etc millionaires were made because they got in early.

Well, Eth is now PoS which means they are not the same decentralized blockchain before because anyone that has huge holdings of Ethereum has the huge impact on blockchain decision making. There’s no miners of it so the hype on this token is not that strong compared before when there’s a lot of interest to the project because of it’s mining profitability. Ethereum smart contract is already used by many blockchains that has a better feature. The current price of Ethereum is still in the top compared to it’s last 5 years price.

I will stock other blockchain project if the goal is long term since Ethereum is like other blockchain already when they change their protocol to PoS.

I agree with you, because Ethereum is the best altcoin to make a long term investment and with the current market conditions, this is a good opportunity to buy Ethereum at a cheap price, because I believe that in the future after the next bullrun occurs, then we cannot buy Ethereum at the current price and of course now is the right time to invest in Ethereum, so that we can get a lot of profit when the bullrun occurs.

About that decision making process... In your comparison, how do the ETH whales on POS differ from huge mining farms we had in POW? POS even has slashing to keep bad actors away.

I haven't yet encountered anyone who has answered me about this. Maybe i am just ignorant but i would like to know, because right now if i had to guess this fud just seems to be coming from miners that are out of jobs.

its indeed a good investment not to mention after the corrections that was caused by series of company and top coins collapsing its now rather undervalued.
but we still need to understand that if not with big capital to invest then it seemed more likely your profit that you get from holding even for that long would not be massive.
at best it would be two times or even three times of your initial investment which honestly already good enough if that really what turns out to be but also rather underwhelming if you don't have that
big of a capital, that just means your gain would be just some measly amount that can be scoffed at. if you think you have the capital then ahead.

Ethereum is indeed good for long-term investment, as Ethereum right now is the biggest allocation in my bag.
If Bitcoin will stay, Ethereum will also. Right now, there's no threat at all on Ethereum or there's no project that is on the way to beat Ethereum, they are far away.

I agree with you OP, Ethereum has a good record by maintaining second position among other cryptocurrencies and many holders has made a lot of incomes from Ethereum and they are very ready to invest more on Ethereum so that they will be part of those that will rejoice when the price increase to $2000. The price of Ethereum is still $1,743 in the market, and it will be favourable for anyone to buy and hold like 4 or 5 years before he or she can sell, because the price of Ethereum will reach $20,000 before the end of the 5 years. I believe Ethereum teams will not allow their customers to regret in future than to do everything possible within their power to make the market look good for them to achieve something good.

Besides being feasible, Ethereum is also a safe choice along with Bitcoin for long-term investments,
Opportunities that exist need to be used as best as possible,
but it all depends on the decision of each.

So far ETH has been a very good crypto investment, but given the high price at the moment it's difficult for small traders to invest here let's say the price goes high above $5k it won't give much profit anyway there are much better cryptos that always have an edge such as cheaper transaction fees such as BNB, MATIC and ARBITRUM or others which are still relatively cheap so they can be a good investment.

There are many drawbacks to ETH, namely the transaction costs are unstable and tend to be high making it difficult to attract other traders to invest in ETH, maybe it will be a profitable investment for traders who have a lot of money to buy some ETH for future investment at least one or two years ahead crypto prices will increase following the bitcoin halving in the next year.  ;)

I agree with your opinion about Ethereum. many time we have seen bad market where all altcoins dumped bloodly. In these five years many coins lost their trader trust but Ethereum is still most powerful altcoins and perhaps it is second after btc I will suggest for every long term holder. In the bull season Eth rised up above 4k$ to create ATH and after bad market situation its dumped to 1k$ also but if we see the current price then it is looking so healthy. Ethereum strong utility and usecase is the key to make it Trusty and coin for long term. i am holding in small quantity but in future looking to increase time hy time

Im expect ethereum to go to the its ATH before it will break another record. that thing will possible to happen only if bitcoin will reach another all time high again. That being said that buy both bitcoin and ethereum for long term.

What you have said above was actually make sense but im feeling doubt if people gonna hear it as they will not able to make a profit in short term. I meant they shall put eth as long term investment.
Short term will not even work in this kind of coin. It's caused by big marketcap makes it even hader to be pumped and dumped by traders.

Imho it also depends on fundamentals. IF ETH manages to scale (cut the fees and increase the speed while increasing transactions), it might as well surpass BTC in marketcap. I know people have been waiting flippening for a long time and when it seems to be closer there will be even harsher crash.

I am basing this on my feelings on the markets and rather long experience i have with crypto markets. Eth doesn't need Vitalik as a central figure anymore and Vitalik doesn't seem to want to jump the ship every time like Daniel Larimer.

Those who have huge holdings, will not need pumpin anymore. They are already rich and with their coin POS, every week is like winning a lottery for those guys. Those from institutions are going to stake of course, these are the guys who want to make money using the money. Anyone would want to be part of the network to make money, it's the price that is preventing poor people from investing. 

The recent news you can find today is that Vilatik is not staking his ETH. He sure is not like those guys.

Define huge holdings. Price is always relative, and number of "full coins" doesn''t matter. Just % of the tokens you own of the supply and value of them.

I hope you are not giving professional advise. Anyway what you have said is not far from the truth. Etheruem has really been under estimated or under priced given that it has coins under its blockchain which is suppose to be a boost in price for it. Back in ico days, almost all the coins that existed five years ago where erc20. Also, etheruem as the leader of altcoins have not had a separate bull run outside from bitcoin so I'm still expecting that to happen and optimistic is going to be a turn around to the real value of etheruem.

Of course, Ethereum is the second best coin after Bitcoin, and it is expected to have a very big future, so the strategy of consolidation in this bear market is very strategic in the long run.

When bull season starts we will surely see very big numbers.

From my experience of owning this altcoin, it's great and not hassle at all because it's the top of them all after Bitcoin. I'm adding a few amounts on it when I've got.

Well, despite every potential it might have for growth, let's just stay grounded and think of reasonable outcomes instead of unreachable imaginations. For someone to become a billionaire through ETH or even BTC, they must invest in multi-millions and even after that, the assets will need to gain a significantly high value above where they are right now to make the investors billionaires which is not very likely to happen even in 5 years or in a decade.

Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and ETH don't work like meme coins where those who invested early with a small capital might become millionaires if the token or coin manages to get community hype and gain significant value in no time because real and organic growth doesn't come in that extent.

Well this is the same thing with bitcoin it has a long future for Ethereum whoever invests in this coin the chance of profit is quite high because for me Ethereum will continue to grow with this great ecosystem that indeed some of the bigger DeFi are on the network Ethereum includes several other big projects so I'm sure Ethereum has the potential to go higher or it can return to a new ATH again.

I am holding Ethereum long term also with bitcoin in my portfolio, this allocation is slightly below bitcoin but with the investment I have made in Ethereum there is no doubt that this coin will definitely continue to grow.

10% SOL
10% ADA

Yes, its not ideal to put up some in meme coins but i do love on having that hit or miss situation and the fact that i did make that huge profits

I have 34% of my total funds in Ethereum now and this is enough for me to hold till the bull comes.

Of course every month i spend half of my salary to buy ETH.
I don't care when the price goes up or in down trend, i'm just keep buying.

Sometimes there is always a hit from meme coins called hype or trending, I also believe that memes can hit again like other memes, but it is a famous meme with a large community and also market capitalists, such as DOGE, INU, PEPE and several other famous memes, but it should not be more than 10% in meme coin investment in essence this coin only relies on market hype.

I do not intend to increase my ETH, knowing that it is always a long-term investment portfolio that provides stability and growth, but I think the altcoin environment also has many options with a vision, and my current investment capabilities. Yeah eth has proven time and again that it's the head of all alts, so far eth performance has been very impressive. I remember years back when eth was below $100 and I would have been able to buy a decent amount and just hodl. In crypto one can get easily confused with different opinions especially when you don't have the full understanding of the market yet.

SUI and Aptos are incomparable with ETH. Although these tokens are quite hype now, they aren't proven for a long time. Previously we have EOS, NEM, WAVES, or LUNA, they are ever hype a few years ago. But now, they are no longer hype and rarely people who assume they are potential or good tokens anymore. So, it is okay if you want to hold SUI or Aptos for a short time, but I think they aren't recommended for a long time.

Yes, Ethereum has developed a good record by maintaining second position among other cryptocurrencies that will make many investors not to miss their opportunity in this season, because the price of Ethereum will definitely reach $2000 before the end of this year. I don't think I will miss this opportunity to buy Ethereum and hold in this season because the information is everywhere that the price will hit higher to allow both long term investors and short term investors to experience huge amount of profits. This season will not be like last year that made Ethereum investors to struggle to make profits from the market because of the market price that was low through out last season.

ETH is one of the promising altcoins and the leading altcoins but even though we have a lot of money, it wasn't wise enough to invest more of it and then wait for 5 years before to sell. If that is only our goal, I'd rather play the market and do buy and sell to earn profit monthly rather than wait for so long. I don't discourage holding but at this time, it wasn't really an earning strategy. We can sell them perhaps if there is a good price and just hold them if needed.
And never expect that ETH will hype that much unless Bitcoin went bullish too.

All these new projects have as their main task to make the team millionaires, at the expense of investors who believed that they could quickly get a big profit. Indeed. Eth is an established coin and already existing for years therefore worth to invest in. The price already plunged and soar high (depending on the market situation) but what we're certain is, it's not a shitcoin that can't recover during bearish season. So even it takes a long period to recover, you'll not be worried that might lose its value.

You're right. I think so too. Looking at what ETH has been able to do for this industry, not minding whatever criticism that's bedeviling it, it's obvious that it's not really appreciated. Like you rightly observed, the ETH smart contract has done more for this industry in terms of aiding new projects to launch on its blockchain, than any other project. This has helped broaden the industry with more tokens in the market. I won't be surprised if ETH goes above $10k this coming rally. It's truly deserving of it.

To me first choice of investment is bitcoin and if I have to choose an Alt then Ethereum is the best option. The market of bitcoin and ethereum stand neck to neck. Bitcoin is the leader for the entire cryptocurrency while ethereum stands as the king for the entire altcoins. The suggestion from experts were to have a diversified investment. It is good to hold ethereum along with bitcoins. The price of ethereum is still low and it have got more to grow. Few cryptocurrencies on the market have got proven track record and ethereum is one among them. This makes it a better choice of investment against many other altcoins.

Compare to what will happen in the future, I don't think the price of Ethereum is too high in this period for potential holders to buy Ethereum because the price of Ethereum will definitely hit $5000 next season to allow their long term investors and short term investors to earn something special from their investment. Buy Ethereum at the rate of $2000 and hold like 4 or 5 years before you can sell, I think it will not make you regret for the decision than to make you happy for the Wise decision you took to embraced Ethereum in this season. I don't think, the price of Ethereum will decrease down to $1000 before it will increase higher in the market because the price has already in $2000 which there is a sign that the price will reach $6000 or $7000 in the future.

Of course we can invest in altcoins as long as we can choose quality altcoins. and now the number of altcoins is increasing, but currently the most quality altcoin is ethereum and I agree with your opinion that currently those who are interested can buy Ethereum for a long term investment because soon in 2024 there will be a bitcoin halving, so the price of ethereum has the potential to increase high at the time of the bitcoin halving.

Everything in crypto is risky but choosing other altcoins over ETH is riskier than I can imagine. In fact, we know that ETH is one of the promising coins and it pumps during the bull season together with Bitcoin. So if you may think that buying today is risky and the price is high so you need to wait to dump before buying, then I would say that choose shitcoins instead as it was cheap.

It's all about trust, though there are a lot of new protocols that might provide better options and convenience to users such as lower transaction fees, high transaction speeds, interoperability, and much more, and they also provide developers with better tools and products for creating their own projects and smart contracts, after all that, Ethereum still stands on the top and the reason for that is that people trust the cryptocurrency and don't want to leave it.

In terms of usability, there will be altcoins that will compete with it in the future, but in terms of trust and value that it has gained for itself over all these years, that is irreplaceable for any altcoin no matter how good it is, so Ethereum in my opinion will go a very long way along with Bitcoin.

I have met this opinion many times that the cryptocurrency market consists of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other altcoins. The all time high price for ETH is $4,891 so now is good time to buy them for cheap. There is more then 1000 dapps on the ETH blockchain too.

Even if there will be any progress or not this year, the ultimate target is the bull run that will probably come after the halving even if that is next year, so buying now and holding until then is basically the first option one should think about unless they see a price that is profitable for them before that and they decide to sell the assets and wait for a dip again to buy more, but I wouldn't recommend doing that because we never know if the market will dip again or not.

The dapps will keep on increasing because more things are coming to the Ethereum network and other smart contract projects aren't doing so well. Solana would had been a good competitor for Ethereum but its blockchain is inferior due to it constantly getting blackout so developers are moving from the blockchain to other blockchain like Ethereum that has a stable blockchain.
Ethereum has also moved from proof of work to proof of stake which is going to benefits the blockchain and developers as more works can be done without been scared of high fees. More project can move back to the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum is a very good project and it has a very good history of always doing very well in every bull market so you won't regret investing.
As for the price, I think the next bull market would see Ethereum at $10k or more higher price because if we judge from the increase in other bull market, Ethereum trading at $10k would just be about 1x from it's previous all time high which means Ethereum has room to increase more than that percentage. Today I was reading that 23% of Eth has been staked which means that big whales still believe that Eth is still long term projects in their eyes. If anyone is looking for an altcoin to invest in his first choice should be ETH for the reasons you have already mentioned. It will not be able to do 100X in the next bull run but it can do 10X easily. Also there is great hype about ETH L2 which has also attracted lots of users and the primary coin for these L2 is ETH so it also generating demand and volume for ETH. I thought this season would be for L0 projects like Dot and ATOM but they completely lost the market with ETH L2.

Ethereum price is increasing gradually and all the best trader have an eye on the Ethereum as it is the only coin which people not mostly prefer due to its high fee all over the trade but still most of the trader are predicting it and they are always in need of it. What you have just said went over my head but if you are talking about an altcoin that is on the ETH chain but one of its L2 then you are not fully right. A altcoins price of an altcoin isn't determined based on which chain it is on. Though launching on a blockchain with a large community is always preferable, as this gives that project a chance to grow with that community, it fully depends on the requirements of the project. ETH is still a good deal in the long run. Its price haven’t cross the ATH like it did for bitcoin. This season seems different foe bitcoin but eth is still lagging behind bitcoin.
