Title: Signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling
Post by: Davidvictorson on July 13, 2023, 11:29:04 AM
Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.

Here are some indicators that demonstrate a lack of gambling addiction:

  • Absence of Gambling Preoccupation
Do you don't find yourself constantly thinking over recent gambling losses. You do not get lost daydreaming of past wins. Your day is not spent thinking about gambling, or constantly laying plans on your next bet. You do not schemes ways to get more money to gamble with.
  • Stable Tolerance
You do not need to gamble larger amounts to feel the same level of thrill.  You are satisfied with regular bets and low stakes.  You do not pursue bigger wins, higher stakes, high gambling risks to feel "high" or happy.
  • No Withdrawal Symptoms
When stop gambling, you do not feel restless or irritable. When you are not gambling, you are having feelings of depression or anxiety. For you gambling more like hobby, something you do for fun.
  • Non-Escape Mechanism
You are facing your problems and challenges head-on without turning to gambling forget about them. When you experience stress, or any negative emotions, gambling is not used as a mechanism for coping.
  • Lack of Loss Chasing
When you lose, you do not attempt to bet more and more, with the mindset of winning back what you’ve lost. Rather you "leave" to bet another day.
  • Honest and Accountable Behavior
You are opened about your gambling behaviour and how much you have either won or lost while gambling. You see no reason to lie about it. Your family and friends know about how you gamble because you have made accountable to it.
  • Unaffected Relationships and Opportunities
Your life, career, relationships are in order. They are not being negatively affected by your gambling habits. You met you work target and deadlines, your education is not neglected, and you haven't lost any financial opportunities as a result of gambling.
  • Financial Independence
You have not ran into debts because of your gambling. Neither do you rely on other people for financial support. You haven't engaged in any illegal activity to get money to support your gambling.
  • Avoidance of Illegal Activities
You have never considered partaking in illegal actions like theft or fraud to finance your gambling activity.
  • Demonstrates Self-Control
You can go days without gambling because you have the will power and might to. You do not feel powerless and unable to control your desire to gamble.

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?

That's too much, the simple way to indicate someone isn't a gambling addict is gamble only for fun and afford to lose.

When a gambler think gambling is for fun, he know how much he need to gamble and not looking for making money, the gambling activity will not harm his life. Different people have different amount that he can afford to lose, even someone can't save his money and use it for gambling, it's not a problem as long as he follow that two rules.

What other signs do you know of?
1. Gamble only when they are in a good mood.
2. They don't gamble all the time and they spend their time doing other things instead of gambling.
3. They don't regret losing, but just think it's part of gambling.
4. Can forget about gambling anytime and don't talk about gambling often.

Those are some of the other signs that I have observed, but of course there will be more and more based on the experience of each gambler.

Financial Independence
You have not ran into debts because of your gambling. Neither do you rely on other people for financial support. You haven't engaged in any illegal activity to get money to support your gambling.
If you are earning money very well to the extent you can feed your family and many other people with you still having savings, this may not be your story, but you will know deep down within yourself that you are an addict and making you not to progress the way you supposed to.

Avoidance of Illegal Activities
You have never considered partaking in illegal actions like theft or fraud to finance your gambling activity.
Because a gambler has not been seen to partake in illegal activity does not mean he is not an addict. Addicts are much many than those seen with illegal activity. Some gambler will leave addiction before it grows up to that. But some people are unlucky to the extent they can commit suicide. A rear story but which I have heard and read about more than 3 times.

What other signs do you know of?
Use less than 5% of your weekly income to gamble weekly. Do not gamble always.

It is not good to be addicted to gambling. We should gamble responsibly.

It's a bit boring to discuss anything about gambling addiction, I still appreciate your efforts to make this thread, as far as I can see from the list, everything is very true, but the most important thing is to seek pleasure in gambling games, usually I gamble just for fun, or you could say fill spare time for real gambling as an example I prefer to gamble sports betting whereas casinos are just entertainment to wait for sporting events to start.

The mindset of seeking pleasure will help us control ourselves so that we don't achieve something that might be difficult to get in casino games such as wins or jackpots, so just play, enjoy the game and don't expect anything too much, I'm happy in some casino games, it's just to fill the void of time and spend small money to wait for sporting events, my real bet compared to the casino.  ;)

Like you said anyone who do find them selves into all these characteristics are a good signs of not being a gambling addicts. It would be very had someone to be free all those qualities as for me I truly understand the rudiments that associated people who are gamble addicts thought one must not necessarily be free from all to know such person is not additcts.
When classifying addicts to me an addicts is someone that gambles everyday, it must not be that such person borrowed money or involving themselves in any malicious activities but In as much as such person is having his money to gamble every day I can classify such person to be an addicted gambler.
On the contrary, anyone who could spent a week or months without gambling there's no way we can say they are addictive gambler.

This is the best sign that you are not addicted to gambling and I rate this as the top sign, all those addicted to gambling that I've known, lose their priorities in life, they spend a lot of time and money on gambling and they do not care on the feelings of people around them, those addicted to gambling spend 5 to 10 hours always makes a lot of excuses when there are special occasions.
All they think of are how to win and how to increase their bankroll, people addicted to gambling lose their relationships they end up in divorce and they lose their business and jobs.
It's easy to see this in people addicted to gambling.

I think that "Lack of Loss Chasing" is a big key factor that we are not addicted to gambling.
IMO, a person who keeps on making deposits once the first amount was depleted is a sign that he is not doing pretty well, and maybe one factor is that he is already addicted.
Thankfully, I don't do this yet. I just keep an amount I can afford to lose and once it is gone (which is mostly the case weekly) I just find another thing that I will do. Either working, keeping the house clean, watching movies, tv series, or anything that will keep my mind occupied until the next week comes again for me to gamble again the planned amount.
Sometimes, I can make it survive up to 2 weeks because of sports betting where I mostly win, but I cannot just stick there because I also want to reach a VIP rank and that means wagering more and that's where casino gambling comes in.

Don't self diagnose, it's bad.

When you're not an addict, you will search about signs of gambling addict and there are few signs that same like your habit, you will diagnose if you're an addict and vice versa. It's better for someone visit a doctor and ask them if you're an addict or not, so you will get a proper answer since they more know about your problem.

I have to admit that sometimes I do the opposite of "Lack of Loss Chasing" as well, even though I have most of the other signs listed. Out of the 10 signs, I only exhibit 1/10, so I can still consider myself relatively unaddicted to gambling. Many of us have made mistakes while gambling and blamed ourselves for the lack of discipline. However, as we learn from those mistakes, we become more responsible. It's crucial to recognize that time is valuable, and we shouldn't wait until we have lost everything before learning from our mistakes. That would indeed be unwise.

I've been an addict before and I recovered from it up to this date. I know that I recovered from addiction after noticing that I don't really care on how much profit I earn from a casino and I'm aware on how long I'm doing gambling. I've under go a self restrictions and limitation before when I'm trying to stop being an addict and yeah, one day I noticed that I'm no longer an addict that craves on doing gambling everytime. It's a long process but the signs that you are an addict where slowly disappearing.

You're not that much affected with your losses and you're the type of person that just enjoys everything in gambling. That's my indication that I am not an addicted gambler.

Too much gambling can make you an addicted gambler because having too much attention and activity in gambling makes you one.

But there's a twist that sometimes, if someone is denying that he's not an addicted gambler, he might even be the most addicted of them all. I'm not speaking of myself but that happens in reality.

For me not playing frequently even I have enough money to gamble is the only sign that I really care to determine if I’m addicted to gambling or not. We can talk about other signs that OP brought up but you will still fall to gambling addiction if you keep playing on regular basis since gambling games is designed to be addictive due to the fun involved. It’s very hard to maintain a composed attitude if you are consistently exposed on an acivity that works to let players addicted on game or profit.

I’m playing only once a week the most. This way, I never feel the urgency to gamble more since I’m not exposed on it frequently. Remember that repition will make someone addicted on something that is addictive.

I was quite happy when I found the signs, and it seems that those are the only signs that are in me. Yeah, I happy if gambling with small amounts, because the money I can afford to lose is only a little. For self-control, I've tried it and success. I can control my desire to gambling, because if I didn't have self-control. Then surely I would continue gambling and maybe every ten minutes because also now casinos are available online everywhere, and well it's not too difficult to play and find them. But actually, in my opinion if we can control ourselves, then we are not an addict, because self-control already covers most of the signs.

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?

The cornerstone of all of these is control and proper management something you will never see in a player who is addicted to gambling, control, and management is controlling money and time you spent in casinos and this money is allocated not something that will harm your financial condition.
Part of control is not chasing your losses and not adding more when you lose your bankroll even though you think that you want to have more time in the casino, you know your limitation and you are dedicated to following what you set forth.

  • Knowledge and Skill-based Approach

  • Contentment with Small Wins

Self-control is the biggest indication that you are not addicted to any habit and just gambling. Addiction is characterized by a loss of self-control and will power to take decisions about something even when you can see the negative effects it is having on you. Addiction is not something that happens once and if you show signs of not being addicted to gambling and you get too excited that you no longer pay attention to controlling yourself, you can still become addicted with you thinking that you still have control of yourself.

That is indeed a few points to know someone is addicted to gambling, but there is still a lot to know so it will be too complicated to identify it especially if we don't pay attention to ourselves.

It is quite simple for me to see an addicted person in gambling they will continue to play and always be restless when not playing a day or two will continue to chase losses and expect too much victory even though we know this is purely due to luck but an addicted person will think otherwise about their defeat then he will continue to pursue it.

We know when losing it doesn't matter, when winning he is not greedy and can utilize it well then he is still normal in gambling, meaning not in addiction.

I think you can summarize all on the list if you have this behavior and I agree with that. If you have control over your actions whether it's not regarding about gambling then you'll surely haven't have any problems at all or you mitigate it before it arise. Of course, it's not an easy feat to be dealt with and you may face challenges even, but, through time with patience and practice it's not really impossible.

Perhaps, you can add that there is no desire to gamble because you have read many stories about the defeats experienced by many people, so they don't want to gamble. Their curiosity is overpowered by an unwillingness to lose money, especially when they feel they have worked hard all day and feel no need to spend a fraction of their money on gambling. You are so afraid to see losing money at the gambling table that you decide not to gamble, as this can be something that can keep you from approaching gambling. And even though your friends invite you to play gambling, you can refuse because you know that gambling is not good for you.

I only judge myself.
Because I'm busy working from Monday to Friday and I only have time to rest and time for my family after a long day of work. So I don't really have the feeling or desire to gamble excessively, and here I can judge that I can control myself.
apart from that I can only play when there is free time and only on weekends, and even then if I feel like playing and with very minimal capital and if there is no desire to play I don't do it.
and that's all I experience and feel, so gambling is only to fill free time and have fun when there is a feeling of wanting to play and using a little capital. But sometimes this method is luckier than those who often play, and stop when luck is on our side.

You mean you kept betting yet were not addicted. It's a contradiction but maybe gamblers who are in denial can say they are not addicted when they are always logging in to their casino account. I think there is a need to consult a therapist or psychologist for someone to be checked whether they are addicted or not.

If you can live a single week without logging in to your casino account and bet, I guess that's one sign. Of course, you still need to be assessed by the specialist.

There is a difference between people who are addicted to gambling and people who are not addicted to gambling, even though they still carry out gambling activities, there are differences and assessments in terms of.

The difference between a gambling addiction and a non-addicted person.
1. Time:
Time is very sensitive for addicts, they spend a lot of time and behave not qualified in everyday life, if we can manage healthy time and not open gambling sites all the time, even though they are gambling, that includes people who are not addicted.
2. Lying:
Honesty when entrusting a trust in the form of money, never lying means that the person is not addicted to gambling, even though we often see gambling, it is usually very easy for people addicted to gambling to lie, especially money.
3. Actions and words:
A person's actions and behavior are quite easy to judge as addicted or not, if the person acts normally, whether it's in the social field etc., usually people are addicted. These days he always talks about betting and gambling, but where people are not addicted they don't want to talk about gambling when he gathers in his daily life, even if he is a gambler.

That's not my summary of people who are not addicted to gambling.

in my case when I play I put in a small amount of money that I know I can afford to lose and I won't miss it or it won't hurt me at all, and also even though I know it's an amount I can afford to lose lose I strive to make a profit, I make sports bets, I have created my own discipline and I make bets with the same value and if I win a lot then I increase the amount of the bet and if I lose all my bankroll then I wait until the day when I have one extra money to deposit and play, but I always deposit the same amount, always a small amount of money

I also need to add the fact that I usually take vacations from gambling and only make one bet per day at most and only if there is a game that is worth placing a bet on, another point that should not be confused: spending a lot hours thinking about some game strategy or seeing the mistakes that led to the defeat in a bet as a sign that the person is addicted to gambling, this is not true. a professional bettor or a person who wants to get good results needs to be constantly analyzing the data, this includes analyzing the game in which he lost in order to see where he went wrong or as part of a study to create a good strategy

I remember when I lost a big sum of money gambling I couldn't stop thinking about that. I'm sure I wasn't an addicted gambler, but I felt really anxious for some days thinking on how to recover that loss through gambling once again. I was constantly thinking with myself on an efficient strategy that I could use to recover my money: few shots and big profit or many shots and steady profit coming in... I couldn't figure out what the best alternative was, while at same time I was aware that my plan had good chances to fail, leading me to further losses.

So, after some days of internal thoughts and conflict I started decreasing the anxiety towards this matter, keeping in mind it didn't worth the risk to put more money on the table to recover the previous lost amount. Within time I just forgot about the loss, spending my time with another tasks and daily activities.

I was also having a hard time dealing with my emotions when I experienced huge losses during the first phase of my gambling journey. It was really tough because I had lots of sleepless nights and it affected my mental health for days. I had regrets, doubts and lots of what ifs but that's also when I realized the importance of proper emotion management in gambling.
We shouldn't bet more than what we could afford to lose so we'll not feel too anxious about everything. We should also know our limits and be mindful of our expenses in gambling so we'll not feel regretful later on. It is fine to feel disappointed of our losses but we should learn how to accept the fact that losing will always be a part of our journey so we should know how to deal with it properly.

Thinking about the question itself, don't people usually understand when they are not addicted to something? I mean, people often ask the opposite question because they aren't sure if their obsession qualifies as addiction, but I'm not sure signs of not having addiction are generally needed.
Turning to specific points, I agree with all of them, apart from non-escape mechanism, and honest behavior, I think. People often do things to escape reality, and that doesn't mean they're addicted. For instance, many people read novels to dive into a different world, but that doesn't mean they're addicted to them. As for honest behavior, a person can choose to hide the fact about gambling for a lot of reasons, especially from friends or distant relatives. It can be done because a person doesn't want to gamble together with those people, because society is often prejudiced against gambling in general, because many automatically make the connection between gambling and addiction, because they don't want to share their wins, etc. And none of those reasons involve an addiction. Trying to hide gambling can be a part of addiction, but it doesn't have to be a part of it, so it's just a feature that's not helpful to define the lack of addiction.

In conclusion I would say those who have great self control of their emotion and money are not addicted.
Once a gambler can control their emotion and money management will have all the signs you wrote in the OP.
What would be the other signs, I think all other signs has been mentioned by other members before my post so I dont want to repeat it.

I think this amongst all the points you noted is what differentiates addicts from non addicts. An addiction takes away your power of self control and dependency on the bad habit sets in.
An individual having enough self control over his actions and desires would probably never get addicted. When you’re gambling for fun, hoping for win as well as knowing at the back of your mind that you could incur losses as well, then your feelings when losing won’t be that hurt and you won’t go about trying to recoup those losses.
Very few things controls the will and actions of an individual like an addiction does.

You have already mentioned most of the signs that indicate a person is not addicted to gambling. Your explanation covers almost everything I have read but in my opinion if you are not strongly drawn to gambling and only engage in it as a hobby, it is unlikely to become an addiction for you. For example, if you can go weeks without gambling and have no difficulty controlling yourself or knowing when to stop, it further indicates that you are not likely to develop an addiction. :)

    • Lack of Loss Chasing
When you lose, you do not attempt to bet more and more, with the mindset of winning back what you’ve lost. Rather you "leave" to bet another day.

From the whole list of points you have mentioned in OP this is the only one which I don't have my control on.
It's more like I don't chase losses many times but sometimes I do and when I do it's all in for the losses.
Either I win or I lose it all and to be honest I get a different thrill doing that but that doesn't really mean I am addicted to gambling.
I wait for some days until I am able to gamble again and I don't really feel sad about it too.

I would've mentioned having a full sleep because some gamblers are willing to sacrifice their sleep for more gambling time, but that could also fall under one or two of the signs you've mentioned.

You already mentioned a couple of main indicators and to me, that seems more than enough because even the other signs on the list share the same meaning like the "loss chase" and "self-control".

If you are aware of what you are doing and still having a sense of control with the amount you are betting, then you are in good path. Awareness of when to stop and when to continue is an important thing and is an indicator that you are not letting your emotions play for you. Control with the amount you bet is a good thing because it'll help you avoid frustration and greed which most of us are vulnerable of. But that's a normal thing knowing that it is money we are talking about; it has the power to change us as well as our desires and actions ofcourse. Instill in your mind that you're more likely to lose than to win in order to be preventive of what's worse to come.

Identifying whether we are a gambling addict or not can actually be done by ourselves, as long as we can be in a calm state and are willing to self-introspect. But usually an addict will not want to say that he is an addict, because maybe they also realize that there are negative connotations in the word addiction.
We can realize that we are an addict if we are doing something that should be done, for example spending time gambling when there is work that has not been completed and so on. The points made by Op are also criteria where we are not categorized as addicts, but don't let it happen that when we feel we are not addicts we actually do things that go beyond the limit.

I personally have played and seen other people gamble already from the early age of 14 years. Starting from card gambling, lottery and now online gambling such as slots and so on.
This made me accustomed to the world of gambling but did not make me a gambling addict. When other people think that hanging out with gambling addicts will make someone a gambling addict too. Maybe some people think so, but what I feel when associating with gamblers I can know how regretful it is when you experience defeat and suffering that result from the negative effects of playing gambling.

So by knowing and seeing firsthand how the negative impacts that result from gambling can make me a gambling player who can control myself to play gambling properly and play only when I have cold money / extra money to avoid the negative effects of gambling.

And some of the signs you mentioned are in me, so I can say that I am not a gambling addict.

Addiction is when someone is devoted to something and it's obvious from your narration that you're on your way to addiction gradually. If you can at least bet on a daily basis or four times in a week then it's a red flag already. No one become addictive in a single moment, it has to pass stage from stage until they become core gambler addicted. You are on a mini stage of addiction which if not quickly check will eventually grow into full stage of addiction.

If you can stay up to a week or two without gambling or thinking about it while you have the means to, you are fine then but if you can dedicate time for it daily despite having the signs listed in the original post, then you are secretly and unknowingly addicted. It doesn't matter either you're gambling with little or larger amount.

In fact, it is quite easy to see the signs that a person is not gambling addicted enough to see from the activity that rarely goes to gambling and if he occasionally goes into gambling he always bets with the smallest amount without increasing the amount of bets such as gambling responsibly.
Gamblers who don’t have signs of their addiction will value money more or always think twice every time they want to gamble.

I agree with what the OP said, even though not all of these categories are in me, but indeed some of them are like financial independence, responsibility, no withdrawal symptoms, these are complementary to what I experienced today, and the most basic according to My opinion is when we realize how to treat gambling properly, someone who has that awareness is an early symptom that he is not an addict in gambling.

Identifying whether we are a gambling addict or not can actually be done by ourselves, as long as we can be in a calm state and are willing to self-introspect. I know that person, he is my friend, who does gambling where work or other things that he should do first are completed, instead choosing to take the time to do gambling, but he says that he does not feel like a gambling addict, and what he did what I noticed was excessive, so he used the money from selling his own motorbike, saying if I won I would buy a motorbike twice as luxurious as the one he was selling for capital in gambling.

Bet size is not a sign of irresponsible gambling since it’s just a way to increase your leverage  for a better profit or to recover lose. I’m sure you are familiar about the house edge that makes you lose in long term if you will play consistently without changing your bet size. Increasing bet size will only become a sign of gambling addiction if the player percentage increased is already significant percentage of his bankroll that can’t be recovered when he increase his initial bet.

I always increase my bet whenever I’m on 5 to 10 lose streak so that I can recover and earn profit at the same time when the win streak comes unlike if you continuosly bet same amount. You just need to learn proper bet size allocation to have a better experience bet increase.

This point is associated with people that see gambling as a full-time job. So they are always preoccupied with their past gambling activities and they are also planning on their next gambling move. But when one sees gambling as a form of entertainment, there is no room for spending time reasoning about gambling.

      Quote
      • Stable Tolerance
You do not need to gamble larger amounts to feel the same level of thrill.  You are satisfied with regular bets and low stakes.  You do not pursue bigger wins, higher stakes, high gambling risks to feel "high" or happy.

Any bettor that has a gambling plan and fully follows it will not be addicted to gambling. But any gambler that is driven by emotion or an uncontrollable influence is under addiction. Higher stakes don't give a stable gambler satisfaction because he is guided by a plan. He is satisfied when he has to his gambling limits.

      Quote
      • Non-Escape Mechanism
You are facing your problems and challenges head-on without turning to gambling forget about them. When you experience stress, or any negative emotions, gambling is not used as a mechanism for coping.
This is similar to drug addiction. Depending on gambling to escape current realities will lead to core addiction. Every mature gambler should learn how to face his problems or difficulties without relying on something else. This is one of the major reasons why some gamblers suffer from financial problems.

      Quote
      • Honest and Accountable Behavior
You are opened about your gambling behaviour and how much you have either won or lost while gambling. You see no reason to lie about it. Your family and friends know about how you gamble because you have made accountable to it.

I will disagree with you on this point. In some homes or families gambling is seen as an immoral behavior. So becomes important for you to keep your gambling life secret. My family and friends don't know much about my betting life because it can be misinterpreted. I am accountable to myself and nobody else. But it is important to be truthful to yourself. [/list]

In conclusion I would say those who have great self control of their emotion and money are not addicted.
Once a gambler can control their emotion and money management will have all the signs you wrote in the OP.
What would be the other signs, I think all other signs has been mentioned by other members before my post so I dont want to repeat it.

This two reasons covers all the other signs if you look at it with in a general sense because if the gambler has control of their money and emotions he would not be a victim of wanting to chase his loss while gambling because this habit is caused when your emotions is really up and you are not thinking straight again. Then again if the gambler can control his funds it will still relate to the issue of self tolerance because he will be satisfied with betting with low income.

If I did a check list of these options,I have all of them and this makes me think that I am not addicted.I think that these are a lot though, the best of all the signs is when you do not need the play when you have losing sessions,be it in slot machines be it in sport betting, you don't feel the need to come back and recover all of the lost funds.

Of course people who play with funds that they can afford to lose and do not overdo it those are the ones who have the highest identifying sign that they are not addicted, they are playing just for fun and they are not dependent on gambling even if they lose the money, they don't come chasing it,they wait until they have new funds that they can afford to lose to play again.

If you don't think about gambling in your daily life, you simply aren't addicted to it. Same goes to smoking. I don't think about either of these habits but if someone offers me a cig, sometimes I take it and smoke it. That doesn't mean I am addicted to smoking because I don't buy packs unless I am really excited with something. - if you know what I mean ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) -

I don't think about gambling but sometimes I just feel lucky and I want to see if I feel it right... That's about it.

I agree with you because I see myself in this case, apart from gambling for fun, I don't take gambling seriously so the money I used in gambling isn't something I consider as an expensive rather I see it as something I have used to enjoy myself so when I don't win, Iove on even when I win I don't get too happy because my mind won't really be there.

To be honest saving money and using it to gamble is crazy to me because how can you save to gamble when you aren't sure of winning how? It is only an addicted gambler that won't be mindful of the money he or she uses for gambling because they don't care they just want to gamble that's all.

I like to think that another sign of not being addicted to gambling in addition to what the OP has written is that the individual doesn't go bonus hunting. These bonus hunting may be sign up bonus, referral bonus and so on. Reading through the comments, I do not expect anyone to say they are lacking in any aspect because we tend to portray ourselves in a favourable light in public. However, what I can say is that not everyone will be a hundred percent in all of those signs and that is ok. We may have a moment of weakness here and there but that doesn't mean we are addicted. The most important we stay consistent.

That's a little on the nose but at the same time vague as well. When you gamble for fun it doesn't necessarily mean that you're not tanking losses at the same time even though your mental stability is relatively sound. Losing a significant amount of your bankroll or poorly managing your funds is the surefire way of knowing whether you're addicted or not. You could be "having fun while gambling" and yet you're playing everyday of the week and losing a year's worth of bankroll in a month, and you're considered an addicted gambler.

It's not about the motive or what because we can all have fun and still be deeply stuck in our vices. That's why there's Alcoholics. As I said it's not about the motive, it's about the behavior and how you carry your gambling.

One prove-point you're not addicted are: You're not deposit again, again and again until your money is empty (worst-case selling all of your stuff and going to debt) and don't have money for gambling again.

That's one points (really proven) you're not addicted to gamblin.

Yes, all these signs are accurate for someone who is not a gambling addict. What really affects some compulsive gamblers is the fact that most of them cannot manage their relationships very well; they are always having misunderstandings, probably because of their gambling habits. Someone told me a story one day about a man who took his wife's business money to gamble; his hope was to win the odds and replace the money without the wife knowing, but the game got busted, and he couldn't replace the money and did not even tell his wife that he was the person who took the money. These became very big issues between the two spouses.

I think you said almost everything about signs that indicate that one is not an addicted gambler. Anyone who doesn't see gambling as an occupation is likely a sign too.

You can go days without gambling because you have the will power and might to. You do not feel powerless and unable to control your desire to gamble.

I think even with this just sole sign or behavior, it is clear that the gambler is not addicted at all.  Compare to the definition of gambling addiction which is describe as uncontrollable urge to gamble, having self-control automatically nullify that uncontrollable urge thus the gambler can safely state as not addicted.

A gambler maybe preoccupied with gambling strategy he newly thought off but that is just the gambler being curious on his thought strategy but does not constitute that he is addicted in gambling.  Besides professional gambler which we all know is highly resistant to gambling addiction often plans their gambling activity before hand.

To be honest, i don't know if this thread will help us to recognize if we are addicts or not. however, I really appreciate what you did by creating this thread. from a long list that you compiled with a good and organized vocabulary, it might help people in the community to know if they are addicts based on the references in your long list.
by the way some of what you said in your long list, corresponds to what I do. only a few have differences. it's just that, I'm more inclined to do gambling sessions, maybe even 3 times a week according to the soccer sports schedule. some others say, that I am an addict. and I never cared what anyone else said. The thing is, I know what I'm doing in my gambling.

Well, simply put, I'm not going to have a gambling session until my job is done. even if I don't have free time. I will not steal time to gamble. Basically, I have principles. if everything that I do has been completed, especially those related to work matters, then I can do gambling sessions on the sidelines of the free time I have. Betting on sports, is what I enjoy the most. if I lose the day, I'll rest and maybe do it another day. the point is, I'm not going to force anything until my business is done before I've had fun with gambling.

What a long list! And yeah I agree to most of these list that you have right here, but it is too complex to identify someone who is a gambling addict. However, there is only one major sign that's obviously noticeable for a gambling addict. If a person excessively spends too much in gambling beyond his financial capacity and of course the frequency of the time he's present in the casino or in front of the computer betting in the online casino.
Some times you can't be stable, you can bet lesser today and you can bet more than usual on the other day.
Sometimes you need to chase for your losses, especially when you had an early momentum.
Sometimes you have to lie to your wife that you've lost some bucks in gambling (no wife will get happy when you spend and lost your money in gambling actually LOL).
But all these doesn't necessarily mean your addicted.

I think that a person who is more aware of his/her condition about gambling is less likely to be addicted on the said venture. Even if a person self-diagnoses, the fact that he/she thinks that he needs to do it is healthy for them.

I do think that a person who overthinks about their actions is less likely to fall into this addiction. While this somehow ruins the entertainment, this is the safer route given that lots of people fall and get addicted without them even knowing that they are addicted to gambling.

Probably if you want to be more specific, then go to OP’s list.
It you want a shorter explanation then this one can work, if you’re not into gambling and there’s no emotional connection and you can easily stop playing, then I don’t see any sign of addiction there. The usual scenario is that, you will gamble within your budget and after spending it, you can still go home happy and contented.

^ Your list was definitely right and true.
In addition to your list, here is mine. (Gambling as entertainment)
You should know this in the first place, you view gambling as a form of entertainment rather than a primary source of income. You approach gambling with a mindset of enjoyment and any losses incurred are considered an acceptable cost for the entertainment value.
The second is (Ability to take breaks), you can take breaks from gambling without feeling restless, irritable, or experiencing intense cravings. You have the capacity to step away from gambling for extended periods without experiencing withdrawal-like symptoms.

well, those additional items are actually true. it is quite easy to take breaks and pause your games if you are not too deep in your games.
we have been seeing a lot of discussions related about to gambling addiction. at least this thread is talking about people who are not yet addicted to gambling. and maybe, some gamblers who are addicted can identify their behaviours as compared to non addicted ones and accept the reality of what they are in right now.

Thats the height of an addiction actually trying to win back those looses you have incurred from.your previous try when gambling its almost as if there is an external force telling you to keep trying and maybe in your next try you will get it right.

Having to sell your stuffs to gamble, I would like to think this action is probably related to addict that are both drugs and gamble addict because its one thing to be addicted to game but a really crazy thing to be addicted to both drugs and gambling.

Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.

      Very good topic!

Today there is a lot of prejudice against people who frequent physical or online casinos... "everyone is considered addicted" just because they place their bets regularly.

I think this is unfair as the casino, when played responsibly, becomes entertainment like any other and therefore its players should not be discriminated against for that.

This is the kind of discussion we should see more often around here, as we constantly talk bad about addicted people, but we never praise or positively recognize those who gamble responsibly.

Congratulations to all players who manage to have fun without being addicted to the games!

Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.

Here are some indicators that demonstrate a lack of gambling addiction:
      ~
These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?
Man, I must say this was rather confusing since it tackles what a gambling addict doesn't have, instead of what they have. And to be fair if we were to simply separate what an addict from a non addict has, it's simple. You don't overspend, you have a plan and you most certainly don't have loans due to gambling. Anything else? It's just a methods of trying to repress or change what you're feeling. Being depressed and turning into gambling isn't bad imo, it's just a way for you to change your mood, just like playing any other game. An excess of it is bad, and that's what makes an addict, well, an addict, simple as that.

While i agree with every other point you made this i disagree with:

      • Non-Escape Mechanism
You are facing your problems and challenges head-on without turning to gambling forget about them. When you experience stress, or any negative emotions, gambling is not used as a mechanism for coping.
And i tell you why. Because without getting too deep with concept of reality, people are escaping reality all the time. Art museums can be seen as form of escapism as well as netflix, partying, listening or composing music, jamming, day dreaming and painting. If you try to write a book you need to escape a reality to dream yourself in another one.

What i am saying that this isn't necessarily a symptom. There's only so much you can do dwelling in problems if you can't solve them. Sometimes we just need a vacation from our lives to relax. Gambling can be one of such escaping fun activities. It doesn't automatically check out as a problem.

I think that the key point in this matter is to realize that there is a difference between coping mechanisms and entertainment.
In my personal point of view, when we talk about coping there must be some factor or situation which cause stress and other undesirable feelings on us, so in order to face them we develop behavioral patterns to deal with them, if the stress is relatively high and gambling becomes our only coping mechanisms, then I would say there is a problem going on.

For example, I can watch Netflix whether I am stressed after a day of work and also if I am feeling relaxed during the weekend. in the first case it is a coping mechanism in the second one it is just leisure time being spend without a source of stress.

In essence there is a coping mechanism when stress is happening, if gambling is a place to relieve stress it actually becomes a means of entertainment needed to reduce stress. There are no addictive effects that will occur as long as everything is well controlled. some people who start to get addicted to gambling will usually always have a desire to continue gambling and hope they will continue to win and achieve high income. when they will just spend a lot of money without them knowing it.

But in order for us to call it addiction the desire to continue gambling must remain even if there is no reasonable source of stress around the person; it would be gambling for the sake of it and the small chance of hitting a jackpot.

Even if there was some source of stress, I would even consider gambling not to be a healthy activity if it is the only activity, coping mechanism or way of entertainment the person has. Would you say a person who only finds stress-relief in gambling to be a mentally healthy one? I don't think I would. One needs to have balance in one's life and be able to afford losses, walk around in the park, listen to music and socialize; otherwise the losses will remain in one's mind and we will always try to chase then down the drain.

I mean do people actually struggle to understand whether they are actually addicted to gambling or not? I feel like being addicted  to gambling is a pretty obvious thing.  If you bet too much, lose too much , and don't have the money to be able to do so, and end up neglecting your retirement plan monies as well as you monthly "dues" money (food/shelter etc), then I think you know that you're fine.

However I guess there's always some that need the extra help.

      Don't self diagnose, it's bad.

When you're not an addict, you will search about signs of gambling addict and there are few signs that same like your habit, you will diagnose if you're an addict and vice versa. It's better for someone visit a doctor and ask them if you're an addict or not, so you will get a proper answer since they more know about your problem.

while I do agree with you on the fact that it is not a good idea to self diagnose, since one is always biased for oneself, I think that visiting a doctor is unnecessary. Addictions are easy to spot, especially from the perspective of family and/or friends. I do not think that one necessarily has to visit a doctor to determine whether one has an addiction or not. Especially a gambling addiction. Not only would you be wasting a doctors precious time but you will probably be laughed out of his office.

The safe bet is: if you start asking yourself if you have a gambling problem, the answer should be an automatic yes, based purely on the act of self-questioning. At that point, just walk away from the gambling world for a few weeks at the very least. Some would even need a longer time to get rid of the gambling addiction.

People who easily get addicted should not gamble at all.

Maybe they have difficulty knowing whether they are addicted or not. But I guess if a person keeps returning to the casino and playing some gambling games, he seems to have started getting addicted. And if he can't control himself, the addiction will only get bigger and become a gambling addiction.

And it seems that many people who return to casino do not realize this. Do they feel addicted to gambling or just like playing gambling again? But when there is a feeling of wanting to come back to experience a different experience from playing other gambling games, it seems that is the beginning of gambling addiction.

You have to control yourself so you don't get addicted to gambling. And it's okay if you keep going back to gambling as long as you can manage expenses and don't cross the line.

That's too much, the simple way to indicate someone isn't a gambling addict is gamble only for fun and afford to lose.

It's funny, because I just read the OP and I was thinking: do we really need to know about all those signs to realise that we do NOT have a gambling addiction? Normally you have to watch out for signs to the contrary, by yourself or by someone around you, but I'm clear that I don't have a problem and I don't have to look at signs for it. However, some people, especially in the early stages of addiction, don't realise, or don't want to realise, that they are having a problem, and the signs that indicate that you DO have a problem with gambling can be useful.

      • Financial Independence
You have not ran into debts because of your gambling. Neither do you rely on other people for financial support. You haven't engaged in any illegal activity to get money to support your gambling.
This is not entirely true, because even if you are someone who is already financially independent, if you continue to gamble beyond the limit then you will become an addict, and this happens how someone who already has a big income but eventually goes bankrupt due to gambling addiction because he has never can stop gambling.

But it is quite certain that addiction will be experienced by a person not when he engages in these activities in the short term, he will experience addiction when playing for long enough and cannot stop these activities even when he has no money will look for ways to continue to fund his gambling. from the point that Op mentioned the point is self-control, when you can still control yourself properly gambling then you will be far from what is called addiction

I think the major one is time control and how much you spend on any single activity. People can get addicted to all sorts of things like collecting or gaming, but when you start to put that ahead of regular life maintenance it crosses a line into unhealthy behavior. It can make you unstable as it becomes all consuming and using the gaming example - you may even get frustrated with team mates who are simply having fun but you have been playing so much you take a loss badly. Being able to detect changes in your own mood is super important to figure these things out.

          -  Signs that you are not a gambling addict are that you rarely gamble, you can control yourself gambling in a casino. You just do it as a hobby really and you don't think of it as a main source of income.

You are only doing this to pass the time so that you can forget your problem for a while or if it is called in another term it is stress relief. And you didn't let gambling eat up your time here for a long time, of course. And you don't spend a lot of money just to lose the gamble.

True, but indirectly gambling can provide a high sense of curiosity and make someone addicted when they start gambling.
So even though we think of gambling as a hobby and having fun, we still have the opportunity to come back again and again, plus when we manage to get a big enough win, the desire to win again can appear suddenly which makes it difficult for to leave the game and finally addicted.

But on the other hand gambling addiction, I admit there are some gamblers who are not affected by winning and those in casinos are looking for pleasure, not defeat, it's just that there are very few gamblers like this.

There are things that we normally do that falls under those list of yours but that does not completely means that we are an addict.

Just as others have said, once a gambler realize that they are only gambling for fun or to spend their free time, then addiction is rarely seen in such a bettor. The sets of people that do come down with addiction are those that have decided to take gambling as a means to earn a living and if you take a quick survey you'll observe that 98% of addicts think this way. I am not of the idea for someone to just sit down and start to search and compare themselves to those characteristics, you will surely become what you think about and if all you think about is gambling addiction there's a high chance that you'll become an addict even without you knowing.

In whatever one does self-control is a necessity so that we don't over do it and cause us regrets. There is a say that too much of everything is bad. If you can be able to control yourself in your gambling activities I don't see why one will be a victim to addiction.

Set a time limit at a particular hour that should be used for gambling, so that if it is not yet your gambling time, you don't need to gamble. Also when you are gambling, immediately the time limit is over, you should stop gambling, even if you are winning or losing. Gambling is similar to alcohol and drugs that needs self-control.

OP I applaude your effort in creating this particular thread because to be honest there's been lost of threads relating to gambling addiction but this is different and I want include other features of non addicted gamblers
They Set Fnancial limits- a gambler who deposits a limited funds to casino and do not exceed his limits is not likely to be addicted, because they already set a standard and living by it.
they Avoid chasing losses- it is very wise to know when to quit and the more you continue to try to recover your loss there's a great tendency that you'll be likely to loss more, thereby betting more and gradually becoming addicted.
They're time conscious- most gamblers with the quest to earn more lose track of time thereby making them spend most of their time, but a non addicted gamblers is time conscious and focus on other activities asides gambling.
See gambling as a form of entertainment- most gamblers that come into the world of gambling with this motive have a low tendency of being addicted because they take it as an agenda to have fun and gain pleasure.
gamble at the right state of mind- most gamblers gamble when they're stressed, depressed or having a poor mental health, which in turn could make them lost focus thereby loosing more and becoming addicted because they're try to recover their loss and bet more.

Maybe they have difficulty knowing whether they are addicted or not. But I guess if a person keeps returning to the casino and playing some gambling games, he seems to have started getting addicted...

And I keep returning to casinos and some games I love! As I said many times, we are all addicted to something... so we are all addicts in many ways. It's just a question do we control our addiction (and how we do it) or addiction controls us?

These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted.

That's something we should all strive for, healthy relationships. It's when we are honest with ourselves and others. When we know our possibilities and that our actions have consequences.

When it comes to gambling, it's all fun and games as long as we know our priorities and we spend what we can afford to lose. So the thing is not about whether is anyone addicted or not, the question is does gambling affect your life in general?! If you don't neglect important things in life (family, work, everything else) because of gambling and you don't have financial difficulties, then you don't have any problems.

A good list, however, I should note that in most cases, addiction is a dynamic process - it does not occur in one second (just like one does not become alcoholics from one glass of wine) and even in an addicted person it manifests itself stronger or weaker.
Therefore, if you are concerned about the question of whether you are addicted, then you should check such lists/signs regularly and not just once.

I would also add to this list (as  add-on to the last point)
absence of compulsive betting on events of which one has a no real knowledge.

have no fixed appointments with the games like setting limits for betting in a certain time/days

Well it's exactly what I said, they won't want to be told they're an addict, or they'll even react more than they should, for example they'll get offended and angry when we say they've become a gambling addict.
In such a situation we will actually be completely wrong in acting, if we let them be our friends who should as friends should remind each other, if we remind them, they will react which will make us also upset because our good intentions are actually rewarded with an unexpected response.
If I may suggest, you should not let your friend, because if you let it, it might be even worse. I'm afraid that if you don't care, you will be blamed for not reminding them, even though you tried but gave up.
There are many experiences about this, but some people can accept it consciously, while others find it very difficult and respond negatively.
It's funny sometimes if you think about it, we are the ones who have to remind, we are also the ones who have to be patient with people like that. But this is life. It wouldn't be fun if there weren't people like that, Lol.

Well, though all your points are true and on point about the indications of when someone isn't addicted to gambling, I believe one can just determine if they are addicted to gambling or not if they are not chasing their losses and are gambling with discipline which means they have a fixed budget or time for their gambling activities and they strictly follow that, they might not gamble some days but if they do, they do it according to their discipline.

But that can only be done by a specific group of people with a lot of self-control and not everyone can have that much self-control when it comes to gambling, and being impatient will make you gamble without following any discipline but do it whenever you feel the urge or have money.

You're not that much affected with your losses and you're the type of person that just enjoys everything in gambling. That's my indication that I am not an addicted gambler.

Too much gambling can make you an addicted gambler because having too much attention and activity in gambling makes you one.

I think you're just describing me mate ;D just kidding!

I agree, because I personally gamble when I only feel the urge to gamble (not that often) especially during the times where I need to keep myself entertained while I'm trying to relax myself from all the day's work from my main job. I know that this type of entertainment that I've chose is quite expensive but I can manage because I only bring some funds that I can afford to lose so that I will not be forced by any factor that will try to make me deposit more.

This is the reason why many gamblers have that greedy essence on their own perspectives. When we're losing, we tend to gamble more and chase more our losses.

But then those that have been problematic about it and experienced that there should be a control when this comes to them. One of it fits what OP said about not chasing anymore with those losses.

You can lose for this day but don't rush to recover them as soon as possible. Maybe by tomorrow or some other day, that's when you're going to go chase that losses until you break even or recover at least a few percentage from those losses.

Regular gambling doe not mean a gambler is addicted as long as he still have the control over his activities.  Some gambler have allocated a fixed schedule for their gambling routine just to have some entertainment and stop after the schedule expired.

I agree, this behavior does not constitutes to gambling addiction, having a time limit for gambling, fund that we can afford to lose for allocation as bankroll after all this all falls under gambling in moderation and self-control that simply means the gambler is gambling responsibly.

Heathly relationship with gambling sounds cool, I doubt there are many users who have such signs on popular gambling platforms. Sometimes I open the gambling chat and gonna read what people type each other. After a few hours, the same people on the chat were discussing the same things and this is a clear sign of gambling addiction. Such addicts look for additional money to continue chasing losses and recover the loss. Pathetic but sad reality on many gambling platforms, unfortunately.

This is a nice topic, thanks, buddy. You did a fantastic job organizing these signs. They serve as a gentle reminder that gaming may be a relaxing hobby if we maintain self-discipline. Everyone enjoys a good adrenaline boost after a victory, but who needs the drama of obsession? Your emphasis on steady tolerance is spot on. Fun, not money, is what the game is all about. The time to take stock is when the activity ceases to be enjoyable and more is required to have the same effect.

Not to mention the need of exercising restraint. The most valuable player award. Having the self-discipline to say "no" and mean it is a priceless asset. It prevents us from straying off course in the same way that car brakes do. Another positive indicator is that you prioritize your health and wellbeing. Healthy eating, regular exercise, and plenty of sleep should never be neglected in favor of gaming. Thank you so much for the advice. Trust me, they're helpful even in trading, which is a completely different kind of addiction (count me in lol)1

Guess I'm not addicted to gambling, then :D

Even before I was regularly gambling, I wasn't really that hooked into playing. I find gambling as a pastime rather than an opportunity to make money. $20 on dice a week is enough for me, and I never did extend way beyond that set budget as that already lasts me an hour or two in the casino. Honestly, it becomes boring after you do it repetitively - at least for me who's only in gambling to kill time and not profit.

        •Stable Tolerance

This would be everything on which you do have that kind of tolerance on different situations whether you are on the consecutive losses situation or you are on the moment that you have almost lost your money
on which this is where emotions would usually kicked in on which it would really be that resulting on having that kind of approach which you would really be that impulsive on these kind or type of moments if you
dont have that kind of self control or tolerance on such condition. Its true that not all person would really be that the same when it comes to self control but this one is really that indeed crucial and much needed.

Just treat up gambling for entertainment and not a source of income and youre good. Usually people do push up themselves on doing gambling because of having that making money kind of thinking
on which they are really that believing that they could make themselves rich on the time that they would gamble, until the reality would slap up into their faces and telling
that it cant really be possible but its been already late since the damage has been done already.

Gambling addiction can't be identified easily, because most of the gamblers keep it as a secret and never reveal it to the outer world.
A person who have the ability to understand his/her position at gambling is not addicted to gambling. Simply when a person is in loss, he should know to take a break than making the bet value high to recover the loss. This is kind of addiction to have the wallet balance same as the start of the wager.

Yes, I also keep returning to the casino, just like you. Maybe those are signs that we are already addicted to gambling because we keep returning to gambling even if we move casinos. Still, the point is we are back to gambling.

I agree that this is about how we control ourselves while gambling. And even if we keep returning to the casinos and gambling, we won't be swayed into spending more money.

And with self-control, we can learn to continue playing gambling comfortably without worrying about using more money.

        Quote
        Lack of Loss Chasing

I believe this a very good sign for and against the topic. If someone who gambles a lot and he does this then it is clear he is addicted to gambling because as he is chasing his losses, he will keep making more losses on it until he loses all. But some who is not an addict will take his lose as one of those phenomenon where you play and don't win. He won't dwell on the agony of defeat or loses. Chasing of loses is really a way to determine how addicted someone is to gambling or not.

Having those signs indicate nothing. In fact, a gambling addict would try to find those signs and then try to convince themselves that they aren't a gambling addict. What made you think that all gambling addict do some sort of illegal activity, or gambles illegally or is dishonest. I am sure there are lots of addicts out there that gambles "legally", yet they can't stop. Also, don't forget, all "addicts" starts as a non addict first and then eventually becomes addicted to something. One shouldn't just look at the signs that you posted and start believing that they aren't a gambling addict. If you gamble, gamble for fun. Think of it as a paid form of entertainment rather than a source of money.

I think the biggest sign that you aren’t addicted to gambling is if you can stop and feel no ill effects. For example, we’re all addicted to our phones. Leave the house without yours and you feel naked and incomplete. If going a week without gambling leaves you feeling similar, like you’re missing something you need, then maybe you might be addicted.

I have never been addicted to gambling to the point where my life becomes worthless. However, I have experienced an addiction to console gaming, where my entire day revolved around playing games from the moment I woke up until I went to bed. It was a state of restlessness where I felt uneasy whenever I couldn't hold my favorite gaming console.

When it comes to addiction, the symptoms may be similar to other types of addiction, and there is usually a breaking point where someone will stop being addicted. In my case, what pulled me out of the addiction was boredom. The more I understood the game's mechanics and my curiosity about it diminished, the easier it became for me to break free from the cycle of addiction.

Yes if you miss to gamble for sometime probably because you are busy in another schedule and you don't regret not gambling it means you are walking away from addiction. In fact, for an addict no other schedule come first if not gambling and betting the day's game.

It is still addiction if you can't leave your phone at home, no matter if it is positive or negative, but again, it is best if it is positive as it brings us something about it like a good effect, unlike negative addictions like gambling, where you can't do other things now as you want to gamble as well as lose tons of money. But again, if you can survive not playing gambling for a month even if you are bored, then for sure you are not addicted because mostly when boredom strikes, we gamble like we use our phone if we are bored and keep scrolling on it.

Phone is the most important thing in this era, it's make sense how most of people can't leave their phone at home because everything is in your phone e.g. money, social media, messaging app etc.

Well I'm not really sure the long frequency of gambling can be said as an addict because if you're have a long frequency gambling but you're only gamble with very little money, it's mean you're still able to control your financial and it will not harm your life. Although you're always gambling every your free time.

Yes, it's true that every time we try to quit addiction there is always an effect and it will be a positive effect if we really manage to stop gambling and get rid of addiction even though it's hard at first, but if it's easy to do, it means we're not heavy addicts, on the other hand, heavy addicts seem rather difficult to change their habits. so it seems like something is missing, therefore the need to change the mindset.

The signs of addiction are varied, and we may not even realize that we are addicts, even if we only play a few times on the gambling platform, but as long as we play wisely and don't destroy ourselves, everything will be fine, for example, gambling is for fun by playing wiser. manage your time and limit your gambling budget it will look better.

Well I understand the point @xSkylarx, about the phone but in trying to compare the gambling addiction to mere going out with phone or pressing it will not be looked as the same. That of gambling is about playing with your money that means your finance is going off from you but for phone, I don't think you are losing any finance. Moreso for phone, people can be addicted to it because they are perhaps working online with it and that could be the major reason to be addicted with phone which also includes using it to bet online  ;D

That can't be called addicted if you use it for work or other productive choirs but if you use it just for browsing any nonsense online and you didn't do any useful things on whole day long then this can be considered as addicted traits. But in gambling if you are fine and can last a day or two without participating any gambling activity then you are fine and doing right. Compare on those people who's been addicted already for sure first thing to come up on their mind is to gamble and they cannot pass any day or minute because they always want to gamble. This is bad since we know what addiction could bring to a person and this need immediate help to avoid getting into bad conditions.

There is no man alive that can keep all your rules OP, it's almost impossible because it's way too much, why not just set a timetable for yourself and set an amount for your gambling days, either you win or you lose you take your leave that day and wait for another gambling day to come, this is the best strategy.

The best rule for a gambling newbie is never come any close to gambling if you have no job, many people may not agree but gambling is not meant for the jobless, there is no way you can control yourself if all you have is a certain money that you saved from your pocket money and you plan to gamble with it, when this is your amount on earth, you won't want to lose the money to be honest.

And it's easier to lose all that money in gambling, can you see what I am talking about? Even if you want to invest your money into any stock or crypto you need a source of income first, there must be something to always run back to if the unexpected happens, but if you have no job and you choose to gamble first, you will go mad.

        This is possible too.

Some people are afraid of taking risks, so it's best for them to keep their money rather than spend in gambling which is uncertain if they will win and bring home some profit. Because of the many failed stories about gambling experience they are more scared to try it with the thinking that the same damnation will happen to them as well. And we can't really blame these people for thinking about that since they are just thinking about their hard-earned money and their future as well. It's not bad to be afraid to try something especially if you know that you won't be able to handle it well when things go rough. Personally, I find it better to not try at all if you are unsure of something rather than regret later because you risked your chance despite knowing the possible negative outcomes.

And even though we still gamble a few days later, we don't have to worry about gambling addiction. Only those who always think about gambling and want to come back daily may already have a gambling addiction. And if a person can still do things outside of gambling well and doesn't think about gambling, he is not yet categorized as a person with a severe gambling addiction because he can still control himself. But if what happens is that the person always thinks about gambling and always wants to come back, then they may have a severe gambling addiction.

Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.

I don't agree with the avoidance of illegal activities point you made because I know some friends that are addicted but their addiction hasn't gotten to the point which they'll do some illegal things to get money to gamble. They have money so they gamble alot due to addiction.

Not everyone will allow their addiction problem to reach the stages of doing illegal things therefore you might be an addict and still not be commiting a crime to get money. Probably they'll borrow or take loans when they run out of where to get money to continue gambling.

Demonstration of self control is the highest form of disciples that any gambler can have as that shows you're in charge of your emotions and addictions can't get into your head. With self control you won't over gamble or spend more money than you budgeted for.

Gambling are more accessible now, and that's why many are getting addict easily because they are so obsessed with their phones as well.
Social media also affect your emotion, and that can lead to a hype for gambling. You can tell that you are not addict if you still have self-discipline.
Gambling is too risky, and we all know this but again since you can gamble at a low capital and anywhere, this makes many vulnerable to addiction.

I think I had tried as much as possible to exhibit all those indicators mentioned by the OP having known the consequences of being addicted to gambling especially on my health, I tried as much to be self control and avoid excessiveness while gambling because I gamble for fun and based on my passion for soccer, thus I place my bet with small funds as well as with small odd just to avoid unnecessary risk associated with betting with huge amount of money in a bid to win big, I also hate chasing losses once I depleted the small fund allocation for gambling in my account, I quit and move on to search for a new opportunities, If a gambler overcome all those factors that can rekt or ruin their account such a gambler is bound to be successful in the long run.

This thread is like general knowledge counseling for those who gamble not to get addicted. A person's situation does vary, some never think about the benefits of gambling and some are always counting how many times they have won and how much they have won. Those who are addicted will be seen clearly from their attitude and how they gamble. In order not to get too caught up in gambling addiction, you need advice from other people by telling how to do gambling. Addicts really need other people so they don't get too caught up.

Addiction is a dangerous harm that can happen to anyone. Within the good range of the mind, gambling can be controlled. There are various characteristics that demonstrate one to be a gambling addict. As an illustration, if you detect any desperation or persuasion to bet, it signifies you're on the edge of becoming or have already been classed as a gambling addict. Accepting that you're an addict doesn't seem easy; most of us try to deny it to the best of our abilities, but it's reality, and it will always come after us. I believe that new addicts should seek help and open out to someone who can aid them.

But they still have to do that if they want to cure themselves of gambling addiction and even though it's hard, they have to try it. Not all people who are around him do not want to accept the fact that there are people who are addicted to gambling around them so those who can accept it will try to help people who are addicted to gambling. Only we can recognize whether we have started to get addicted to gambling or are we still fine and have to see how far we gamble.

That's too much, the simple way to indicate someone isn't a gambling addict is gamble only for fun and afford to lose.
          <snip>
I don't think that it is too much. It is helpful, in my opinion. Readers can assess themselves using these specified scenarios.
This is a good thread, but this is a general knowledge, we may vary depending to our own situations, so do not rely into it fully. If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling habits, seeking advice from professionals is recommended. They can provide personalized guidance and support.

This thread is great for learning about gambling addiction many good experienced people offer advice but whether or not it becomes addictive will usually depend on the individual's own will. It is not possible to avoid addiction if you cannot control yourself. An essential aspect of gambling that is always underrated is having fun. Some would even argue that the fun of gambling comes primarily from winning but since winning at gambling can be difficult, don't expect to join the gambling world and if you manage a win, consider it luck.

However, I see the need to add a more criterion. The ability to establish and maintain reasonable gaming limits is indicative of lack of gambling addiction. As in, "Hey, I'm only gonna bet 50 bucks this week," and then, win or lose, you stop betting after that amount is gone. That's some significant self-control, and it shows that you're not letting gambling consume you.

Amazingly, some people seem to be able to straddle the fine line between enjoying themselves and becoming addicted without falling off. Not an easy feat, but highly commendable!

Yes, that's the importance of limiting the budget, it's very good to avoid addiction itself, because by not controlling it will obviously plunge us into addicts because we let casinos spend our money brutally, so the best way is to limit our budget and control ourselves, set the best time to gamble and don't follow lust. The more you can control yourself, the better.

It's true that sometimes gambling for fun can lead us into a tailspin of addiction but we stay in the middle line of playing wisely without having to gamble all the time. that is the importance of becoming a more controlled gambler so as not to become an addict. because when you become an addict it is rather difficult to recover from that disease.

Opening up seems to be a problem for addicted gamblers because they are too worried to hear the response from those around them when they discover a gambling addiction. Only we can recognize whether we have started to get addicted to gambling or are we still fine and have to see how far we gamble.
but for me those who can judge the signs of addiction or not addiction are not only ourselves but sometimes we need the people closest to us to judge our behavior whether there are these signs. because sometimes we always ignore the signs of addiction but consider themselves to have no signs of addiction. on the one hand, sometimes someone who feels he is okay when he sees threads like this he still says he is not an addict.
so that judgments like that sometimes we need the help of others to see our behavior.

Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.

          • Unaffected Relationships and Opportunities
Your life, career, relationships are in order. They are not being negatively affected by your gambling habits. You met you work target and deadlines, your education is not neglected, and you haven't lost any financial opportunities as a result of gambling.

Yes because not only to gambling but also in other forms of addiction. Your relationship with your spouse, child, and your family will be the first one who'll be affected. You became isolate from them, you feel guilty losing money, you feel les of a human person. That's what makes you a gambling addict. So in everything that you do, always practice moderation. Because for whatever result that may come in, it is always your family that will suffer in the first place. So don't let gambling ruin you relationship.

The phone addiction you mentioned is right, if you go out without your phone there is a kind of boredom that you will feel because we are so compactible and accustomed with our phone but we can't even help that or can we ?  ;D Maybe for online addicts, phone addiction could be termed as positive addiction. Yes if you miss to gamble for sometime probably because you are busy in another schedule and you don't regret not gambling it means you are walking away from addiction. In fact, for an addict no other schedule come first if not gambling and betting the day's game.
Gambling are more accessible now, and that's why many are getting addict easily because they are so obsessed with their phones as well.
Social media also affect your emotion, and that can lead to a hype for gambling. You can tell that you are not addict if you still have self-discipline.
Gambling is too risky, and we all know this but again since you can gamble at a low capital and anywhere, this makes many vulnerable to addiction.
yep, anything related to online gambling today (network access, privacy, withdrawals/deposits) is very easy to make gamblers more addicted but not 100% of the majority of gamblers lead to addiction, many are able to control themselves wisely so they don't become gambling addicts.

There are also those who tell their gambling activities to their family with the aim that they don't get addicted to gambling because their family warns them all the time. I don't know if this method is effective, but it can be tried for those who gamble often.

          -cut-
          Avoidance of Illegal Activities
You have never considered partaking in illegal actions like theft or fraud to finance your gambling activity.
          -cut-
I don't agree with the avoidance of illegal activities point you made because I know some friends that are addicted but their addiction hasn't gotten to the point which they'll do some illegal things to get money to gamble. They have money so they gamble alot due to addiction.

Not everyone will allow their addiction problem to reach the stages of doing illegal things therefore you might be an addict and still not be commiting a crime to get money. Probably they'll borrow or take loans when they run out of where to get money to continue gambling.
          -cut-
I think you misunderstood Op, as what he/she is trying to say is that one of the signs of addiction is that if you want to break a law to continue your habit. Not that everyone with an addiction would be criminals. Addiction can cause illegal behavior, however illegal behavior can exist without it and doesn't cause gambling addiction.

One could argue that this is more like desperate act caused by gambler's fallacy. It can be result of addiction but i can see it also as "all or nothing" -bet that in fact can stop your gambling streak for a long time by the fact you'll go broke and can't afford to gamble at all.

I still believe it sometimes goes against most of your enlisted suppositions...
If you're very observant, you'll be able to confirm this particular appraisal; when a non-addict gambles, it's not necessarily about the thrill, it's sometimes about the interest in it at the time - when this is done and nothing shows up instead they keep losing, what usually pops up in their minds would be to keep PERSISTING (except they're outta cash) if not, they'll always wanna recover their losses - what happens in the process?? They keep losing the more.... That's not termed as an ADDICTION cus many other times, this particular user doesn't even show up in a casino house.
P/s; a non-addict could still think breathlessly over gambling losses.. some of your facts are applicable on both ends.

Indeed, only the people closest to us can recognize whether we are addicted to gambling or not. But they have to see what we do every day so they can judge that we are addicted to gambling. And if they only see us infrequently, likely, they haven't been able to see or identify that we are addicted to gambling. People addicted to gambling may be very good at hiding their gambling addiction so that others cannot recognize it because they will also say they are fine. It's as if nothing has changed for gambling addicts when they need help from others. And other people may only recognize someone addicted to gambling after he has developed a severe gambling addiction and is in dire need of help.

This is new. Usually what we see is the opposite like : What are the signs that you are addicted to gambling? But, I think that can also work the same, I mean if you can't find your signs there, that simply means you are not addicted to gambling yet. That's great and don't be confident this time saying that you will play a little harder.

You never know, what if you exceed within the limit? And once you are at that point, things are going to be harder now to return. What can happen next is you will just go with the flow like many other addicted gamblers. You are lucky if there are people that will care about your condition because they might help you get over it.

I could be a wrong perception I have on gambling addicts, but I have noticed that keeping one's gambling activities to oneself and not letting others (who care about us) know we are partaking in such things helps to accelerate the transition from healthy gambling towards addiction.

For example, many of the news people share here which have anything to do with addicted people, usually implies the person hid their addiction (or tried to hide it) from their family members. It is the case of the young man who ended his life after wagering his college money and I think it was also the case with the Brazilian girl who stole graduation funds from his companions to gamble.

If that is the case, it would be constructive to let people who loves us know, so they can check on us and tell us whether we are going too far into it or not, before it gets worse.

It seems to me that every gambler has exceeded their limits and lost money that was needed for other purposes. In my opinion, this is quite normal practice, because learning from other people's experience is a difficult task. And in fact, bad experience is also experience, so after you exceed your limits several times, you should learn to limit yourself. If this does not happen, then you are not good not only with self-control, but also with the construction of logical chains.

Signs that are common to know whether you are an addict to gambling or not are rare because you can be addicted to it and you will literally feel you aren't.Before someone can realise that he or she is addicted to something, means that it has already caused a problem to your mental health.Addiction comes gradually until it has eaten the whole of you.But I can say the only way in which one can know that he is not addicted to gambling is when you still have the ability to control yourself when the urge to gamble comes,if you have found yourself in a situation whereby you find it difficult to say No when something in you tells you to go and gamble, that means you are already and addict, but you don't know.It becomes obvious when it has caused a harm to you, maybe the urge made you to steal, just to gamble and you are being caught,it is then you'll realise how much harm it has caused you,it is also then you begin to think about it and have the conciousness that you are already addicted to it without your knowledge.

I think the closet sign one who gambles can experience and not have the impression of some addiction at play is not having that pull towards gambling while anticipating a game a when it comes to the sportsbook and having the well enough resources but, could easily walk in and out of a casino building without placing a single bet.

When it has to do with online casinos, you have some huge money that just dropped in or maybe your at your least on resources and the choices of increase doesn't itemise gambling. That would be some good sign that, your around a safe zone with gambling.

Gambling isn't for everyone but, for the responsible.

Why to complicated? too long for the list.

One prove-point you're not addicted are: You're not deposit again, again and again until your money is empty (worst-case selling all of your stuff and going to debt) and don't have money for gambling again.

That's one points (really proven) you're not addicted to gamblin.
Pretty simplistic and it basically sums it all up lol. Smart guy. And while I would agree with you there's some signs that are bordering over "is it still considered grounds for gambling addiction" and all that which people would be more than eager to be clarified about, so a little clarification like this and expounding upon the idea of gambling addiction is necessary even though at the end of the day, it all boils down to proper management of losses and funds.

So while you are right, these people who's discussing about it aren't specifically wrong either just because they are expounding upon ideas about gambling addiction. Although in my opinion the post's a little longer than what I had expected when most points can easily just be merged into a single symptom or sign.

A great list or rather signs put together, but to be honest, I don't need to know all this before I know within myself if I am addicted or not addicted to gambling, but then again, its still a great list regardless of how I view it.
And by the way, point with the bullet point six(6) shouldn't be or shouldn't have been included since that does not really tell whether someone is addicted or not, for example, I am not a gambling addict but i still keep all my gambling activities away from my family, this is because the ideal of gambling is not completely seen as moral, most especially for my wife, so the fact that a gambler is not honest and accountable with their gambling activity does not mean he or she is addicted to gambling, they might just decide to keep it away from family and friends for privacy sake, so that point does not really qualify to be there.

Well for someone who have mastered his self practice and know the limits to almost everything he does,  will definitely not be needing some signs to know when you becoming addicted or being an addicts, me I already know when I am going all in excessively and at that I always find ways to keep my gambling practice on check at regular basis and this is one practice that I will like others to also consider at some point because this will help you to self evaluate yourself and act accordingly without possibly needing to make a list.

But for someone who hasn't mastered the act of self-control, they will find this list helpful and accurate,  this could produce some positive results in the long run,  but not everyone will be needing the list at some point altogether this ops work is supper and helpful for newbies.

I think it all starts and ends with self-control. If you have high self control you would never feel trapped by your hobbies because you can quit anytime to return back anytime as well. As I always said gambling addiction is bit exeggarated. I understand why people say that its hard to overcome but be sure, you need to develop your self-control and even self-esteem. You need to feel you are one that handling your life. At that point you won't feel addicted.

          3. They don't regret losing, but just think it's part of gambling.
          -snip-

In my opinion, gambling addicts and non-addicts both regret when they lose their game. The only thing that differentiates them is that people who are addicted to gambling will continue to play regardless of their financial condition and they tend to be aggressive and don't care about their condition. Whereas people who are not addicted to gambling, they tend to think rationally and keep thinking about their financial condition and tend to hold back from gambling again.

If you can treat gambling as entertainment, you will not be trapped by the many temptations you see while using the internet. And you even leave advertisements containing gambling because you can divide your time between gambling and doing other activities. You need to handle this well so that you don't experience gambling addiction, especially if there are already several people around you who have experienced it.

Some are just lucky to be winning everyday, and they never see any evil in it, but those that lose everyday called it evil, that's the problem of gamble.

If this does not happen, then you are not good not only with self-control, but also with the construction of logical chains.

The limitations in the game are very printed, and of course, when I see a person play a lot, and suddenly he stops everything and leaves, either with a loss or a profit, it is an indication that he is a person who knows what he is. doing, I like to make analogies on this topic, for example, a person who likes to eat sweets, if he eats a lot of sweets all the time, in the future he may suffer from diabetes, and the question here is that sugar feeds cancer and all the diseases that have been and will be, and who does not like sweet? to many, but what happens, you have to control the sweet, it is said that if we eat less sweet it is healthier, that's how it happens in games of chance, if we bet only what we are willing to lose, we will only lose that, we take the pleasure and we continue with our life.

Another indication is that a person can go to play in a casino every day, and leads his normal life, that is, he has control of his things, he does not abandon his family and children (if he has them), he does not abandon a single one. his health, he is a person who plays sports, he is a person who works, who does not mess with anyone or look for fights, if it gets too late then that person does not go to the casino, those things are what may be indications that He is a normal player without any type of vice or addiction.

Another feature is that you don't spend all your money at once in the casino, if you have a salary, you don't spend it, nor are you asking your friends for loans, nor are you putting yourself in danger with mortgages or something in the bank, if we see that he is a person who does not do those things, it could be said that he likes the game, he enjoys it but he is not addicted, regardless of what others say, sometimes other people are very hurtful when they talk about others, apart from if The person pays attention to what he says, moreover, this type of behavior is what we must avoid, each person lives their life as they want, and the best possible, and if they like casinos and do not hurt anyone, I think it is the best indication that he is not an addicted player.

Agree, regret has nothing to do with addiction because it is natural to feel regret in anything we do in life. You have explained clearly about the difference between the regret of addicted and non addicted, yes it is about how they deal with the regret. Actually it is simple to indicate that we are addicted or not, but the hardest thing is to realize it because even if we see the sign of addiction but sometime we do not admit it ourselves as we think we still do it right while in fact it has lead us into something bad step by step.

First sign is to have the betting apps on your phone, some of us see it as a means of survive in this poor economy, But its really eaten up the little savings we have already. Its very difficult to get away from gambling, its only God that can save one from this addict.
Some are just lucky to be winning everyday, and they never see any evil in it, but those that lose everyday called it evil, that's the problem of gamble.

Even if the mobile application of the gambling was their in your mobile, the self control is the most important one.Until your finger touch the application, the application will not open.Like wise until you play, the game was not played. Some gambling addict face all the small savings into gambling by finding the big win.But they should play the gambling with the time limit, then he will not get addicted.People with good gambling experience will do gambling game on Sunday and from Monday he start to work.So this time limit allow them to control his mind from the addiction is my opinion.

Sometimes, the thought of depositing money and losing it in a gambling platform pains me. I guess that's one of my strong points since I recognize that the loss of any amount of money is something that I really cannot stomach. I'm thankful that even if you give me extra money and a very accessible gambling platform, I'd choose to keep the money and spend it on other things or rather save it. Self-control is something that not a lot of gambler have, but once you have employed it, it's hard to get off of it.

On the time that you do make out deposit on a certain gambling site, then it would really be just that right that you should really be considering those amounts to really be that totally lost or completely gone
so that you wont really be that expecting something with it and you wont really be getting annoyed or disappointed on the time that you would be losing those funds. It is really just a matter of self
acceptance when it comes to this because you wont really be finding yourself to be that impulsive if you are really that just that getting used or prepared on what would happen.

          Stable Tolerance
This is what should people really be that behaving on which minding about that kind of tolerance whether on emotional aspect or that kind of mindset which is really that related to
gambling. If you do have that fixed mindset and fixed emotions about on certain actions then i dont really see any problem towards it.

Those signs you gave are good and I will like to add one to the number you have given. And which is "always not found in the gambling halls".  Becy of you are always available in the casino hall or sports bookmarkers hall then that will indicate that you are an addict to gambling. A. Not always in casinos and gambling websites in with your phone.

I stopped chasing losses long time ago because I have seen on how it has affected me a lot. I am still a gambler but I am no longer addicted and I've got a control to myself. That's a hard part to be managed because with what we're usually seeing is that, there are gamblers that do struggle in maintaining their posture and control when they gamble. They think that they can handle themselves but when they're on the situation, that's when things don't go accordingly to what they have planned for.

One of the biggest signs of a non-addicted gambler is that he can take break from gambling. He will not try to gamble with loan money. He will normally spend a moderate amount of money on his gambling for which his family will not suffer. A non-addicted gambler would not react differently if he lost. He will try to make his due contribution in every area such as family, relatives and social activities can give equal importance to all areas which an addicted gamblers can never do this.

The point is to distinguish someone who is addicted from someone who is not addicted is quite easy, one of which you have mentioned here and I will add a little that those who are not addicted will not be too ambitious in pursuing victory there, for example they lose and after that they will not return to it at that time even though they still have money to bet and there is not even the thought of borrowing for them. They will only come back if they really want to do it, there is no sense at all for them to pursue victory there. Now for the addicted themselves as we know, most of them will spend a lot of time there, winning or losing still they sometimes find it difficult to stop. Especially if they lose, obviously they will be emotional and it is visible and also very likely for him to make a loan. Most of the addicts will not accept the defeat he experienced at that time, and he will continue to pursue it even if he loses again in the end. The point is that people who are addicted have a higher curiosity than those who gamble just for leisure.

You have to defend it from gambling addiction again, and by looking at what you have experienced, I think you can still avoid gambling addiction. Indeed it is a difficult part to manage, but as long as we want to change it and deal with what went wrong, we can do it. What's important is that now we can better control ourselves when playing gambling and won't be easily carried away by emotions and won't be tempted by any offers. So now we just play gambling for fun ;D

While you have mentioned the emotions of regret related to gambling addicts and non-addicts, I will not agree with the point that non-addicted gamblers not be prepared for a loss. They should be prepared for both loss and win.

Why would a non-addicted gambler will be sad about the gambling loss? I think such a gambler already knows the risk involved in the game and he would be prepared for the loss. This means that he would not risk too much that a loss from gambling will lead to a change in his mood. He must have a money management plan with him and therefore we put him in the non-addicted gamblers category.

A lot of people would say emotion should be controlled whether you are trading or gambling, but it's not true. You can't control emotions, it's the action that you can control. Anyone who loses will feel sad or regret losing money but whatever he does after that is what he can control. If he drinks and does drugs after it, it's up to him. If he can control and not chase the loss, it's good.

If one nongambler or a gambler just stops gambling and resumes back to what he was doing before he strays into gambling then he is not addicted.

Definitely, sure it did help me a lot. You just have to realize what you're chasing and if it's worth chasing. Because once you realized that it's going to be worth it then you have to think again and it's okay to gamble but don't make yourself addicted. We're all to have fun and do stuff, sometimes we're for the chase of losses and sometimes we want to earn some and win. It varies and sometimes random ideas come to our mind like being lucky within the day and it's gonna be the day you want to gamble but you're also defensive to yourself. And that is when you're aware that you can't handle the heat of yourself. So, with emotions playing away as you gamble, you have to rethink for so many times so that you won't be problematic once you're dealing with and you have recognized it.

I believe that I am not a gambling addict because I can control my gambling activities, which include:

First, I only gamble in my spare time or vacation, because gambling is not a top priority if I have to leave work to gamble.

Second. other than that I only play it in my spare time I also play gambling, if I have extra money after fulfilling my needs and savings. in the sense that I do not use money that is clearly needed for gambling.

third, realizing that victory doesn't come in every game, so it's ridiculous if I have to spend money on one game and continue to be ambitious to get a win.

so as long as I continue to adhere to these three principles, I think I will be safe when doing gambling activities. The most important thing is not to harm other people, especially to ignore and neglect the people we care about in order to carry out gambling activities for our own pleasure.

I think having good knowledge of finances and a stable environment are some of the best defenses against gambling. You could have a very good wage but not know how to manage your money and it can be a recipe for disaster when it comes to gambling. If you don't understand or refuse to acknowledge the simple math that is working against you in a casino, then you're also going to have a very bad time if you keep pouring money into it. Being able to regulate your mind, in terms of not chasing losses and being able to let go of money that you put at risk is important, because some people have a hard time admitting to themselves that they were stupid for entering a particular bet.

I think he is also right about it. None of us really installed a casino app as the browser works for the most part. Not sure why there is the need to unless the casino is giving privileges to those who install the app and in that case the addicts will really dive into it even if it's just free spins. The economy is killing everyone including the middle class who has more savings than the regular McDonald's crew. If the free spins give hope, I see no reason not to try it.

However only a few casinos that has apps actually particularly crypto casinos. Those fiat casinos I guess will do, addicts wouldn't mind.

It would not be a problem if a person have control over his gambling urge.  But it will become a problem when a person become hooked and addicted to the game.  It will slowly drain is money and will slowly raise his fund allocation until he use all his income for gambling.  So I think it is best to have a self check every now and then about how we engage in gambling addiction and if we often lose our control when we are playing.

The set of people that see gambling as a source of income are the once that are addicted to gambling, and most of them are just wasting money in gambling, because at the end if the money spent on gambling and the amount they have won is calculated, it will show that they are just wasting money, because their loss will be more than the amount they have won.

Not entirely true, there are also people who only seek entertainment and pleasure and got addicted to gambling.  I think all kinds of people even with different purposes in engaging in gambling as long as their are exposed have the possibility of getting addicted to gambling.

Yes, we all have fun playing gambling, so don't let gambling make us addicted. We must be able to take care of ourselves while playing gambling by always being within our boundaries. And when we can play gambling comfortably and are not tempted to chase victory even though we are in a losing position and finally decide to stop, it means that our self-control is better. That's because we don't think about recovering from previous losses and can also feel that our gambling game has had enough and it's time to stop before we lose self-control. It's better for us to stay conscious keep our emotions in check, and stop playing gambling on time.

If only they recorded all their expenses for gambling games and some of the wins they got, with the aim of knowing whether gambling is profitable or detrimental and this is regardless of the pleasure they get. Because if you already think that gambling is part of their fun, it will be difficult to let go even though they often lose.

          If you can't let go then what you have to do is;
First, you have to exercise self-control to minimize even bigger losses.

secondly, increase your capacity, knowledge and skills in gambling to increase your chances of winning in every game you play. By continuing to develop strategies to defeat opponents and improve skills / abilities in card gambling games. But when it comes to soccer betting, what you have to do is absorb as much information as possible and improve your ability to do analysis.

Third, avoid playing carelessly and continuing to pursue victory because this will only hurt you.

We know ourselves better than anyone else, so we use disciplinary measures and avoid any sort of gambling addict proceeds. Gambling is something we expect to do in our own time and with extra money, not with our scheduled cash. I will not participate in any activity that jeopardizes my well-being; instead, I will fire more shots with the goal to strengthen my income sources, specifically not gambling. Gambling does not provide us with continuous earnings; we win when we have exceptional luck and lose when our forecasts fail to come accurate.

Looking at oneself and seing that there's no recent achievements to hold over time than gambling and no any progress as well could be recognized with such a gambler is enough reasons to know that such a person is totally addicted to gambling and has no time for other things than betting always, but when you're able to balance your life, income and things you do that gives you honour and reputation, then you're moderately gambling without any area of your life being affected, this is within our control if we so want to change for good or remain the way we are.

These are pretty good guidance to follow for your gambling endeavors and I also don't see any problem if you remain true to them. Having a set of fixed principles like you, which we follow and gamble accordingly is the main thing to keep our behavior in control. It's one thing to develop and writte down some rules we implement on ourselves, and something completely different to follow those rules every day. That is why I think that having a strong discipline and self control is the key to not become addicted in gambling. Only when we really follow our rules and have our gambling habits under control, can we be relaxed of not being at risk of becoming an addict. Lying to ourselves and breaking our own rules is the first step towards downfall. Reading through the comments here there are most users that have a fixed mindset about their gambling activities and only follow it on the side. That's probably the second most important concept, don't make gambling your main focus in life. There is guarantee if becoming rich with it and the risks are increasing the more we gamble.

The guidelines are always very good, especially in these times when it is so necessary to have control of everything we can, the fact of playing in free time indicates that you can be a very busy person, it is a way to have fun, not bad I also like that the victories that are obtained should be enjoyed and not lose control with respect to it because it would be something silly, what I could add, is that to play with what one has, one can agree to our salary is that they have 1 or 2% willing to risk per month in the case, it does not matter that it is very little, the idea is that it can be taken as for enjoyment only, that can be seen how to get out , or buy a Hamburger , something like that.

Now, I would like to add that a Very Important guideline is to never break our own rules, for whatever reasons, we must respect our own rules, we must never break them , because Otherwise we would not Respect ourselves, they would start dating things go wrong, that's something that can sometimes stop, however we have to keep an eye on it.

Another guideline is with respect to the balance to bet, we are clear that what you have to bet is what you are willing to lose, we should not skip that because it would be the worst, it is what leads us to an abomination the fastest, yes We lose what we are willing to lose, it is better to leave, and now, there is no need to say that I am going to make another little more because I feel lucky, it is or is a big mistake, which should never be made, because it is sure It is that things do not work out, that is the greatest probability, it is also the indicated path for addiction.

The other guideline that is the most difficult to carry out or follow, at least for me and I think for many, is not knowing how to control emotions, emotions can play a trick on us, because in view of the things we do in a casino this It can't be distracting, and in a moment of impulse, adrenaline, we can break all our rules, and if things don't happen, it's the worst , because the remorse is Greater.

You have good ideas about gambling, and that's how we should be able to treat gambling as entertainment. And instead of making gambling a place to make money because it will be difficult for us to get it. And having good self-discipline and self-control can prevent problems in gambling and keep us from gambling addiction, which is a major problem for gamblers. Gambling as entertainment also will not be able to provide us with income. If we have understood it, we would not gamble too often to avoid gambling addiction. And that way, we will not have any signs of gambling addiction.

the perfect addition to complement all three principles. Because it is easy for us to plan and run it at the beginning of time and what is difficult in this case is to maintain or be consistent with the rules we have made. Consistency is the main key in doing something because temptation does not know the place and also the time, maintaining it in the long term is very difficult to do but as you said that to maintain our consistency is to respect the rules we have made. It would be better if we told the rules or principles we made to those closest to us so they could make each other aware not to get caught up in gambling addiction.

There are two easy ways to know that someone is not addicted to gambling, but right now I will list more than two but the first two are the major points to know that someone is not addicted.
          • When the gambler is not too excited about his winnings
          •   When he is not so pained about a loss
          • When they do not so much talk about a particular gamble they missed
          • When he doesn't depend on the money from winning for any project
          • When  they only play with money they budgeted only for gambling

When the gambler is not too excited about his winnings

This isn't a real way to indicate an addict, or person who gambles occasionally.
A person who wins should be excited about it. It's a normal human reaction found both among addicts and people who gamble for fun. Both of these personalities will and should be excited. What does it mean "too excited?" Does he have to throw his money around or start taking off his clothes to be considered too excited? Does he have to go all in next round to be considered too excited?
As for the second point, this also isn't an indicator. People who are very rich will not be moved by losses that you or me would be, but they still can be addicts. It's just that to them losing $100k is nothing.

From what I see, hardly anyone considers themselves addicted and hardly anyone accepts that they are addicted, there are cases such as the person is a professional gambler, so that person needs to spend every day analyzing the games and placing bets, of course when the game is of leagues that this person does not dominate, and the games of leagues that this person dominates only happen on weekends, so this person will place bets on weekends, but as he is a professional bettor, when he loses a bet, he will be thinking about that bet, he will analyze where he made a mistake, so that he does not make the same mistake again and if another person is watching him the first thing he will think is that the professional player is a gambling addict

and addicts are treated badly by society, that's why you have to be very careful with saying that word addicted to something, only a doctor or psychologist can do an analysis to determine whether or not a person is addicted to gambling, but for this, that person must go to the doctor willingly when he sees that he cannot live without gambling, it is easy to take this test to find out whether or not he should go to the doctor for tests, it is enough for the person to say to himself that will stay 2 months without playing, if that person is not able to fulfill this promise, then he is addicted to gambling and needs to go to the doctor for an appointment

then the doctor will make the appointment and say whether or not he is addicted to games and what will be the appropriate treatment for him, this can also be seen in a person who cannot save money even if it is money from work to pay the salaries of employees this person takes that money and gambles, so this person is sick and needs medical help

I agree with you, because gambling is not investment and its not something you will be hoping to have a return, what I know of gambling is that gambling have to deals with forecast and not every time you will be lucky for your forecast to result winning, the set of people that is gambling addict do being deceived by their gambling mates and they hope that one of their winning will cover all they have lost and such orientation is what makes some people to be gambling addict
One of the things on which a certain individual should really be minding on, on which this isnt something a thing that they could make out some income but rather this is something that would
be classified or pertained out on being an entertainment on which means that you would be needing to pay up something for that leisure which is something a very common sense on the time that you
are dealing with gambling. You wont really be putting yourself into such huge trouble or danger of addiction if you dont have that kind of impulsive approach towards it, act accordingly on whats the
real deal about gambling and able to deal avoid risks as much as possible. If you do tolerate out that kind of emotion on which you are hoping and chasing up winnings then this is an indicative sign that you
          are already addicted to it.

If you wont really be able to suppress yourself on such situation then you would really be ending up with that kind of person on whose addicted to it which it would be leading up into that total
financial devastation on which this is something that we dont really like for it to happen.

OP this list of yours is too cumbersome for one gambler to abide by and if we're to go by all and each indication in your list as the ways to know if a gambler is in control of his gambling habit or not, it then mean that the absence of one indicator suggests the gambler is still not in control.

Indicators like not chasing loss, not preoccupied by gambling, not stealing to finance gambling habit and not risking more than one can afford to lose, these few are enough to maintain that a gambler is in control of his gambling habit. And not only when he keeps to all of those you op listed above, the list is just too long for one person.

There are two easy ways to know that someone is not addicted to gambling, but right now I will list more than two but the first two are the major points to know that someone is not addicted.
          • When the gambler is not too excited about his winnings
          •   When he is not so pained about a loss

          • When he doesn't depend on the money from winning for any project
          • When  they only play with money they budgeted only for gambling
There are some loses that can be very painful in case we don't know. Sometimes we might behave like it is not that painful to the public or to our friends but we can never forget how we were able to get that fund especially when we are not so bouyant financially. The problem mostly comes when we use too much to bet on a particular game without minding if the outcome will be against us or to our own advantage. Gambling need a lots of observation so we can know when we ought to bet and when we don't necessarily need to bet because this alone can cause misfortune.

          • Financial Independence
You have not ran into debts because of your gambling. Neither do you rely on other people for financial support. You haven't engaged in any illegal activity to get money to support your gambling.

A person is not addicted to gambling when he loses bets but is not broke. Many times we can see people who are addicted to gambling indulge in various illegal activities. We have heard in many news earlier that gambling addicts have sold their assets to gamble and many take loans from banks to gamble. But gambling by taking these loans and selling assets is the biggest mistake, when he loses these funds he will be destitute and will have no other recourse. So these mistakes are made by those gambling addicts who can't stop gambling even after losing their money. However, when a person is not addicted to gambling, he does not have such an effect, rather he refrains from gambling if he loses a bet. and those people will never borrow from their own resources and never use banks or any other mechanism.

There are some loses that can be very painful in case we don't know. Sometimes we might behave like it is not that painful to the public or to our friends but we can never forget how we were able to get that fund especially when we are not so bouyant financially. The problem mostly comes when we use too much to bet on a particular game without minding if the outcome will be against us or to our own advantage. Gambling need a lots of observation so we can know when we ought to bet and when we don't necessarily need to bet because this alone can cause misfortune.

Keeping your emotions to yourself is making your burst. I mean, there are really gamblers that are keeping their losses to themselves because they want to maintain their appearance and are more focused on what the opinion of others is. This is not helpful because of your pride, but it is better to be open about it because there will be times that you'll need their help and advice to somewhat minimize your betting.

Having a betting apps on your phone is not a bad idea, am having a betting app on my mobile phone and that those not mean that am spending all my money on gambling, i just prefer gambling on my mobile phone rather visiting a gambling shop to gamble. The set of people that see gambling as a source of income are the once that are addicted to gambling, and most of them are just wasting money in gambling, because at the end if the money spent on gambling and the amount they have won is calculated, it will show that they are just wasting money, because their loss will be more than the amount they have won.
I agree that having a gambling app on your mobile doesn't mean that you are addicted to gambling, I have a couple of mobile casino apps on my mobile but I'm not a gambling addict I barely even gamble using those apps, but I have kept them because maybe sometime when I have some extra cash and I feel like playing some slot and have some fun, I might make a deposit in one of those apps and enjoy my time, that is another way to see it.

Someone who is addicted to gambling wouldn't just keep the apps on their mobile but will always be using their mobile and gambling wherever they are which is not the case with everyone. There are also responsible gamblers who might keep such apps on their mobile phones to be used at specific times.

Indeed, it does not mean we are addicted to gambling, but it can trigger us to continue playing, especially if we don't have much activity. And there is a tendency that we will open our phones more often than other people, and there is a possibility that we will look at casino sites and, in the end, play online gambling.

But if you can restrain yourself from visiting an online casino site while opening your phone, you won't be tempted to deposit money or gamble. You can resist the urge to gamble and won't be influenced to open the casino application on your phone. This is why we must learn to control ourselves from gambling so that we don't gamble too much from the phone in our hands all the time.

This is the main reason why one needs to gamble with only the amount that he can afford to loss. Greed ends up to the the order of the day for some gamblers who think that they can recover their losses by gambling more, they will only accumulate more losses. Setting aside a gambling budget is also another way to prevent one from excessive gambling and addiction. If you can stick to these two rules, it will be hard for you to become an addict or to have more losses. If gamblers put in mind that gambling is mostly about securing losses than wins,it will help that gambler a lot to make his decisions wisely.

If only they recorded all their expenses for gambling games and some of the wins they got, with the aim of knowing whether gambling is profitable or detrimental and this is regardless of the pleasure they get. Because if you already think that gambling is part of their fun, it will be difficult to let go even though they often lose.

          If you can't let go then what you have to do is;
First, you have to exercise self-control to minimize even bigger losses.

secondly, increase your capacity, knowledge and skills in gambling to increase your chances of winning in every game you play.

If you want to find the gambling is really entertainment one or stress giving one.You can note down the last fifty games and find how much you earned as profit in total from your deposit money or find the total loss,This will say what is your exact profit or loss from the gambling. But you also need to find the maximum amount which you deposit after all the loss.
The knowledge percentage on the gambling will increase your chance of winning.Their are

recording the last fifty games is more than enough to find out whether the gambling activities carried out are profitable or vice versa. For the biggest deposit amount, I'm sure everyone can remember it, especially if after the deposit they experience a loss which makes it the biggest loss when playing gambling, but they will forget when making a small deposit.

huge difference between the random bet to get to the luck of that day and the planned bet based on the previous random generation from the gambling sites.Knowledge based bet had more probability.
This is also what causes me to prioritize ability over luck in gambling. Not that I don't believe in luck, but luck doesn't come every time we play. But with the abilities we have, we can create chances to win every time we play. Even if I lose, it doesn't mean I'm unlucky, it's just that my abilities are still not good at gambling.

Now, I would like to add that a Very Important guideline is to never break our own rules, for whatever reasons, we must respect our own rules, we must never break them , because Otherwise we would not Respect ourselves, they would start dating things go wrong, that's something that can sometimes stop, however we have to keep an eye on it.

the perfect addition to complement all three principles.
It is that I think something, when we do any strategy in a casino, we can be successful, because if we organize ourselves with the amount of money that we are willing to lose, how we are going to play, how much money we are going to bet on each play, well it is something It helps me to more or less imagine what I can do, it's like having a vision of what could be triggered within my game, at least I do that, it's like when playing chess and more or less one sees what can happen if it does this or that, or what happens if I apply something else, what can it result in, something like that is what I do, and that is part of my strategy, now, having done all this, what I propose to do is that things are given to me, in case they are not given to me I must Assume and that's it.

Based on what I have said, it is necessary to emphasize that when I play I should not do things wrong, and what is the first thing that I can get out of control? that if I spend my money, the one I was willing to spend, if I lose it I can't start thinking that I'm going to look for more money to make another play and maybe win something from what I lost, because there I am violating my own rules, then I'm already wrong, and that's what I'm talking about, so this is the most common mistake that one makes as a player, not only did I do it, I know that many of you have Missed, because we start to think in a very positive way that if we can achieve it, it is best not to try anymore , Because the most likely thing is to lose that victory, what I advise in those moments that one wants to break the rules is to leave the game, log out and do something else, then return the next day, or at 2 days, that emotion of doing things like this Quickly wears off a bit.

I have experience in that because it has happened to me, however when I arrived the next day, I tried to recover all that I had lost, and everything went wrong, so that is why I repeat, things should not be done like this, you must have peace of mind , something to measure for things and not surrender to despair or stress.

It's best that we open up to our issues; perhaps some of us have a reputation to protect, causing us to soliquize while walking, sorting out options to cure it but they don't arrive. We simply need to make proper planning in order to avoid becoming entangled in whatever we are anticipating. Everything will be OK as long as we don't force ourselves to do the incorrect thing. All we require is time to heal our wounds.

Its all about mindset and beliefs towards gambling and if you do have that kind of mindset on which you are really that thinking that gambling could easily make you rich, then this is the main reason on why you would

really be putting up yourself on desperation on which it is really that something that would really be resulting on making some errors or mistakes on what things must be done specially on dealing with gambling.
Each person does have their own personality and thinking towards various things, some would really be sticking into their principle and some would definitely be making out some adjustments if ever they would
really be that seeing some things which could put them at disadvantage or simple on risks. Gambling isnt bad as long you do make yourself that responsible and not really make out some haste decisions
on trying out to deposit tons of money just because you are forcing on what you do have in mind.

It all matters on how you do deal up with gambling or whats your view towards it but if you are sticking into the basic things like on being entertainment and leisure then you wont really be finding
yourself on great or huge trouble or potential problem when it comes to finances since youre been wary about those probabilities.

Each of the gamblers has his own experience and policies in managing the use of money, risk taking, and self-control and others. We can only say a few important points to note, but not all gamblers care about that. Addiction is one that is difficult to avoid, but as long as they are able to take responsibility for anything as a consequence, then it will be fine.

Everyone has the right to determine their fate and how they rely on gambling. However things can quickly change because most gamblers are those who have a greedy nature which might lead to regrets.

Correct. When you get into gambling, you should first understand that it's highly risky to begin with. Firstly, you might end up losing a lot of money. Secondly and perhaps even more concerning there's the possibility of developing an addiction and that would lead to further financial losses and potentially causing serious issues in your real life. These problems can extend beyond just financial issues but also it could impact your mental as well.

In fact, I knew some gamblers who have ended up in jail or even attempting to suicide. So, before you start gambling, take a moment to reflect on whether you're truly prepared to put your money on it even tho there's nothing guaranteed or not. I mean I'm not talking for people who gamble for fun but for those who are serious about getting into gambling and think that they could be millionaires.

True. It will still depend on the person using it. I actually have seen one and sadly he is one of my friends. Went here with other friends to visit me and I was truly shocked when I realized he was not talking to anyone while we were enjoying drinking alcohol and just sharing our stories after a year of not seeing each other.
He just keeps on playing a slot game on his smartphone and he only pauses when he is out of online money, that's when he will talk to me just to buy online cash then he will pay me with hard cash.
I was sad and talk to him about that  because I realized he is now an addict but it's hard to right what he got used too and he had a lot of wrong reasoning that he throws like he is winning sometimes. The house will always win so I didn't believe that.

much credit to you for making a list like this, its very comprehensive enough.  some people have been to avoid being addicted just because they can control themselves. this self control to me seems like one of the best points in there. this will help you not to go deep into gambling that you just do it once a while or  do it responsibly. once you are going above your limit, see that you cant control yourself again and you are taking it like a source of income then there is a high sign of addiction coming.

Today, let's shift our focus and discuss something different instead of constantly addressing gambling addiction. So, I've decided to bring up a new topic: signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling. Let's explore it.

Here are some indicators that demonstrate a lack of gambling addiction:
In addition to the above-mentioned list you just gave @ O.P, I think another sign which shows that you are not addicted to gambling is "No unnecessary borrowing of money" from friends or family members just to please your gambling desire. And likewise "Gambling with the amount you can always afford to lose" is another sign you are not addicted, because unlike an addicted fellow, he/she will always want to gamble, not minding the amount been spent.

Well, it’s like if you gamble with your only spare money, that’s a sign that you’re not into gambling addiction. And once you lose them all, you know that it’s time to go home and leave the casino without any regression. If your mindset is like this, then you will have no financial problems when it comes to gambling, and whenever you decide to gamble, you know that it’s just for fun and entertainment purposes, not actually to earn a living or recover all what you have lost.

It's your concentration in gambling if its highly more than any other things you that is to show that you are gambling addictive, so what I wanted us to understand in gambling is when you seen gambling addictive you will know that this person is addicted in gambling and secondly its very obvious and very clear that to see the sign of someone who likes participating in gambling more than any other things its very simple and easier to see, right now I notice that some people who is addicted in gambling does not know exactly when they are addicted in gambling and when you inform them that they are addicted with gambles they disagree with you, but in summary your concentration in gambling determine if you are addictive or not.

There are some loses that can be very painful in case we don't know. Sometimes we might behave like it is not that painful to the public or to our friends but we can never forget how we were able to get that fund especially when we are not so bouyant financially. The problem mostly comes when we use too much to bet on a particular game without minding if the outcome will be against us or to our own advantage. Gambling need a lots of observation so we can know when we ought to bet and when we don't necessarily need to bet because this alone can cause misfortune.
Knowing when to bet and when not to is a very important aspect of helping some one to not getting addicted, some persons don't know when to these thereby getting addicted, it's very much advised you try not to spend money ment for something else on gambling so you don't start chasing losses and gradually tend towards addiction unknowingly to you.

Controlling how much you spend on gambling also is a means of keep yourself in check to know if you are already addicted or not, if you spend almost half of your income gambling, there maybe possible chances of you getting addicted so maybe you should take a break for a while and rest maybe some other time you can continue because if you allow your sef continue you may loose so much you become addicted.

Responsible gambling still remains key if you must not be addicted. There is a point where you get and think you are not addicted but your are gradually becoming especially when you often use your gambling apps or sites on a daily basis such that they become part of your routine, you may not be spending much on it but then you are becoming addicted unknowingly but if you use them less frequently then most likely you may not be addicted.

Well to an extent I came to understand your point on gambling with your spare money and not chasing your loses if you lose but to take it as though nothing much has happened. Yes such mindset is only exhibited by someone that is not a regular gambler and that is why it becomes a sign of non gambling addict. An addict has that strong will to keep chasing back his loses which is a major characteristics of all addicts and fun and entertainment are the primary drive for a non addict and he is scared and weak to take another try after losing, this has happened to me severally.

Gambling is not for everyone, I keep repeating this statement because there's a whole lot to learn about the system. It was designated to regenerate monetary revenue from gamblers who had 100% interest in the system. Addicts suffered the major negative factors of gambling, they are ready to wager everything valuable properties for gambling, sometimes I do wonder if they are in their right memory of reasoning. I've thoroughly studied myself and I don't fall into the category of gambling addiction, totally free and would wager at my own convenient time.

I agree with this, there is a difference between gambling with leftover money and deliberately allocating money to gamble, in terms of intentions it is also clearly different. Honestly, I also wouldn't say that those who gamble only with leftover shopping money or leftover snacks cannot be said to be fully addicted because it is clear that it is like their accident that ends up using the money to gamble. If they gamble that way then I'd say they're normal, responsible gamblers and don't carry the mindset of other gamblers who are always "hoping and relying on that uncertain win".

Obviously, with a healthy mindset like that, they will definitely not experience any problems in their finances, and even if they experience problems, it will only be minor problems, self-control and a healthy mindset are the most important and congratulations you can avoid unwanted possibilities. And your assumption is very correct that this is not a place to earn income but just a place of entertainment to occasionally fill your spare time, it's better.

Yes I believe also that it is those who are addicted to gambling and don't make money from it that suffer from it, they keep regenerating money for the owners of game houses and casinos. But come to think of it, this circle of addiction won't stop because gambling has existed back in time and we have people who are newly converted into addiction on it while some have gotten help out of it.

Hence, the buttom line is it better to have tasted the negative aspect of gambling which of course is losing then you decide how to handle your gambling bankroll, emotion and greed.

If someone has a gambling addiction, they may not admit it and deny it if someone says they are already addicted to gambling. They don't want to be called gambling addicts even though it is clear that they are already gambling addicts. Yes, someone will not know when they have a gambling addiction because they only know how to gamble. But if they have good self-control from the start, they will not experience gambling addiction because they can prevent it from happening to them. Maybe those who are addicted to gambling need someone else to check whether they have experienced a gambling addiction or whether they are still safe in gambling. But even though they are still safe when gambling, they must remain vigilant and careful because gambling addiction can come at any time.

Another thing is that a gambling addict will not accept the fact that it's addicted in gambling, so therefore let us just say that a gambling addict other people will inform him or her that his addicted in a gambling not that the person is afraid of gambling, so I will like you to understand the secret behind addicted gamblers, so many people who is addicted doesn't understand or observe themselves concerning gambling addict its people surrounded them do understand a gambling addict not the person in particular, do you know that you may not be a gambling addict but people will be thinking that you are a gambling addict.

It was true that they would not want to accept the fact that he was a gambling addict. He will refuse it because he can still take good care of himself and not gamble beyond the limits he has set. But if someone always supervises him when he gambles and can show him the facts, maybe he will slowly admit that he has a gambling addiction, so they need help to cure his gambling addiction. But if a person can control himself while gambling and can restrain himself from crossing the line in gambling, that person doesn't seem to be addicted to gambling because he is really strict with himself not to gamble excessively.

There are so many signs to indicate that one is addicted to gambling such as incessant gambling even when he's not winning his stakes, selling of personal belongings just to raise capital for gambling, taking loans from banks and borrowing from close friends and relatives just to gamble and many others. But one popular character of gambling addicts is that they don't used to admit to the fact that they are addicted to gambling hence it is very difficult for people around them to help and stop their addiction in gambling. But no matter how difficult they tend to be, it's expected of anyone around them to help them see reasons on why they must stop their addiction in gambling

The characteristics that you mentioned are exactly right and indeed correspond to those who are addicted to gambling, and also this is the danger when they are too serious in looking at gambling by applying the wrong mindset and also too high expectations about a victory that will not always be in their favor. They seem willing to do everything just to gamble and of course there is no guarantee whatsoever to win, but strangely somehow they are very confident in making loans to other people including banks and of course they also sell some of their valuables, honestly if there are people like this then I say the level of addiction is very high. In addition, it is very difficult to recover if the addiction is like this, instead of getting the victory as they always expect but at the end of the story they are even worse off with a lot of debt or debt and well it is very possible that in the end they will be stressed or even commit suicide.

The question is, do you want to be in a position like that? I'm sure not, so from now on reconsider everything, change your wrong mindset as soon as possible, this is absolutely not a place to earn income but only for entertainment. I'm sure you know what's best for you, so change everything before it's too late.

Even if a person becomes addicted to gambling, it is unlikely that this person will recognize or admit that he or she is addicted to gambling, which is why in most cases of addiction, whether gambling addiction or cases of addictions to sex, alcohol, stealing, lying, cheating, who usually discovers that those people are addicted, are always the people who live closely with the person and this always leads to very intense fights because the person, when they are addicted, is their relative tells you that you are addicted, so the tendency is for the addict to rebel, act aggressively against the person who is accusing him of being addicted, these cases are very large, I myself have seen this a lot in my family

and see that in many cases the addict will even say that it is a lie that he is addicted, he will say that he can go months without doing that thing to which he is being accused of being addicted and when everyone is thinking that he is really talking to The truth is that he is not doing the thing he promised, we will see that he continues doing it but does it in such a way that no one sees it, that is, if he is a promoter who is not going to play in a casino, then he will be playing in secret until the day he that people discover that he is playing and lied, and when everyone finds out then the solution is to use force to admit him to a hospital for treatment

If these qualities of a gambler are seen in you, then obviously you’re not a regular gambler, but just an occasional gambler that just want to have more fun than to earn money, and clearly addiction is too far to happen if you play gambling like that. But on the other hand, if you gamble more for money than fun, that’s where addiction hits you bad. Because you are no longer in controlled with your actions and decisions, and the more you lose, the more you become more addicted to your habit.

Controlling your emotions when you win and lose has got to be Golden. Not going online to beg for money to bet is another thing here.
Expecting either of a win or lose when you gamble shows your not aditced and when you lose you don't go about crying over the funds lost because you already have staked what you can afford to lose.
I can only get disappointed when the very last game of the ticket I staked or played goes wrong at the last minute of the game.
I gambled from a tender age and cope with whatever came in between and I never stole to.gamble.
Most Importantly, keep gambling fun and never gamble when you're pressured.
