Title: When does the moment come when the gambler loses control?
Post by: summonerrk on November 20, 2023, 10:44:29 AM
There is an opinion that the greatest dependence on gambling is formed at the moment of a big win. The player understands that money can be earned LIKE THIS. This is a fairly common opinion.

But I believe that the greatest dependence on gambling appears at the moment of loss, when the player admits in his head the idea that he could earn so much. He is disappointed, but wants to recoup. It is at this moment that the desire comes to play again and again in order to return to the previous state.

What do you think about it?

When I was addicted, if I win I continue to gamble, if I lose, I still continue to gamble. Why? Because I want to earn money. That is the cause of the irresponsible gambling.

I was not also having gambling budget which was another mistake.

One of the worst time is the time of losses, you will continue to deposit into your gambling account and continue to lose. It even happen that some people will not have any money left and start to borrow money which is a very bad idea.

Gambling budget solves this. Just 5% of weekly income is enough for gambling.

Evidently yes. Gamblers lose control they start to lose in money because they want to get it back along with thinking earning potential. Having a desire to win more and recover loss at the same time gives the gambler confusion on what’s the real goal on gambling and that is having fun.

The problem is gambling games is designed to be that way. They allow player to win at some point then later on recover it all by continuous loss while player keep increasing bets to intensify more losses.

It is a normal if there are thoughts from gamblers who want to continue gambling whatever the results they have experienced. They just want to continue gambling because they have found joy in gambling. But they have to be careful because if they have the desire to continue gambling even though they have won, that means greed has come to them, and they have to be able to control themselves so they don't follow their desires. But if they have lost and want to recover their losses, it is also because of their desire not to be able to accept their defeat. Everything can trigger a gambling addiction, and usually, gamblers do not admit this and think that they can still control themselves well while gambling.

Profit is what makes so many gamblers run at loss because they think that gambling is a means of making profit. This makes them to keep on playing even when they are winning or losing. When they are losing, they think that it is time for them to win more due to their greed and wjen they are losing, they will still continue playing to win back what they have lost.

Gambling is based on luck and that is why one must accept losses and gamble responsible to avoid becoming an addict. Only gamble with the amount that you can afford to lose and also have a time limit for your gambling activities, to prevent you from much loss.

Winning or losing are two events that can make gambler lose control when gambling.
But it is bigger and it often happens that gambler loses control if they experience loss like you said, they lose certain amount of money and their emotional feelings increase so they cannot accept the loss until they try to recover it.
In conditions like this, gambler forgets the risk of forgetting limits and they are not aware that emotions have controlled them to continue fighting for victory in order to get back the amount of money they have lost.

There are quite lot of cases like this that have happened and been experienced by gamblers everywhere, in fact most of them even worse, have actually experienced financial ruin and all the wealth they had was lost in gambling.
It is very sad to hear that gambler has experienced ruin or bankruptcy just because of gambling, but all of this has consequences from the risks of gambling and they have to accept it.

We have all experienced a loss of control when it comes to gambling. Perhaps in my experience, this has happened several times and could happen again. It only happens when you forget to be responsible for the decisions you make. The biggest reason I see is the desire to win because we all know that money is involved. Sometimes, I think fate might favor me now to win because I've had a series of losses in the past. But if we continue trying to recover, the losses may only increase. While you may not be able to control the urge to gamble, at least you should be able to control your limits, especially when it comes to the amount of money you can afford to lose.

It cannot be denied that when we experience a loss there will be an urge to bet bigger to cover the previous loss if we win the next bet. But sometimes this works and sometimes this actually makes us experience more losses. But that's only sometimes. Well sometimes I also lose control in this matter. But because it's for fun so sometimes I don't care. Because I only use limited funds. So I can still meet my living needs and can still save and invest. But there are times when I get a big win then I become more greedy and want more so I make a bigger bet. But after I thought about it, it turned out that I always lost control when I was having some problems in my life. So I try to forget it with this.

This is the most important thing in gambling, to use what you can afford to lose to gamble. Before we use any money for gambling, we should make sure it will not affect us in any way at all especially financially. We can be lucky and win big but if we do not win big, the losses should be bearable in a way we are not going to think about it at all. The reason some people are not able to control their losses and they continue to gamble more and lose more is just because money is involved as you said but it is not only because of that, it is also becuase they do not think about the consequences until they lost so much.

I agree. Both ways actually. It will depend on the gambler. If the person is greedy then he goes back and forth even though he already received a multi-win.
Chasing losses though might be a big factor for those who are addicted to gambling. Simply because most gamblers lose more and there's only a little window for one to win.
Many of us are in the same boat, we just want that money back that was taken from us. This kind of perspective could lead to more losses which means a gambler will not stop unless he gets that one jackpot that would bring him back to whatever the amount that was taken from him.
It's easier to remember the losses than the winnings. We don't even need that spreadsheet to calculate all because it's all in our brain and it's one of the reasons why a gambler cannot just stop. Revenge.

oh yeah, it easier for a gambler to quit for the day after a big win to when he's losing in his game. The tendency to chase the losses is triggered by the idea of recovery back to previous financial state, and in that condition anxiety steps in affecting your gambling decisions leading to blunders that originates extra losses.

Losing can be very painful and disappointing equally when you claim to play for fun too, it is natural in human as an innate nature to disgust losing, and when we care too more about our losses we are moved to beat the loss and the chances are that we tend to lose more in such circumstance than we do recover. At that stage admittance by accepting the day as your losing day is the better option instead of chasing the losses.

I'll say both and this is because we have different type of individuals who are gamblers and they have different ways of thinking therefore we can't use one way of thinking to judge everybody and come to a conclusion. Some gamblers gets their biggest dependence moment in gambling when they win big as they want to continue gambling so they can win more while other individual gets theirs when they lose as they keep playing with the hope that they'll win one of their next games.

Neither way of thinking is good because both habits can lead to big losses that can make any gambler to lose more. As gamblers we shouldn't be greedy and we shouldn't practice revenge gambling. Picking one I'll say we have more gamblers that believe they can win after losing then those that keep playing after they win. Individually I'll be smart and take a break when I win or lose therefore I'm not dependent on continue gambling.

OP a bit too wordy so let's keep the arguments simple.
- gambling addiction could come from the thought that it's easy money so you keep coming back
- gambling addiction could come from chasing losses

It could be a mix of both. Some people just cannot stop because they just love the thrill that gambling gives so they continue to play regardless if they are winning or losing.

Loss of control occurs due to losing a lot of money. He tried to continue making deposits and continue playing so that his losses could be returned. Usually those who chase losses are people who have already had a big win, they keep playing and try to get it back.

I think all gamblers have experienced this, they get angry, emotional and lose control. Usually they will realize when the money they have is gone and they can only regret their actions. But unfortunately, even though we have experienced something like this, sometimes we repeat it once or twice. Controlling emotions is difficult

It depends on the gambler...

Some loses control right after they see their friend cashing out big amount of money, they lose their sense of responsibility and they want to try the method of their friend, they forget instantly how it's very important to abide by your own limits and gambling strategy.

Some losses control after they lost just like you said, it's because they aren't prepared to lose that money, such people don't understand the word gambling, they are new and decide to gamble just because they believe it's that easy, so they start chasing their losses hoping to recover it back at least.

Some losses control after they win, this is very common to few numbers of people that I know, they get very happy and they build full confidence in gambling, thinking that everyday will be the same, it's even possible that they will get reckless with gambling after the win, some set goal and limit amount they can afford to lose but wait till they win a round, they will start increasing the amount, they will do the calculation in their head that if they have risked a higher amount in the first place they would have made bigger money.

When the first time I tasted the online casino and won I remembered that even though my winnings were not huge it made me think that I could earn that much money in just a short period rather than working 8 hours if I was at the office. If I continued to play and win I would have a lot of free time for my family as I could win it in just 2 hours. With this kind of mindset, you'll start to lose control because if you can't win that specific amount you'll then play more until you reach it and it's worse that you'll lose huge.

I tend to agree more with your first paragraph because if you take a survey among gamblers, you will realise that many people got lured into gambler by winning they had or that of others. People follow results that is why you can easily convince a person to join gambling with evidence of your winning than stories of losses. It is actually stories of loses that discourages people from gambling.  I don't know how gambling is designed but many people easily win in their early days in gambling and that is how they got stocked in it.

Both factors affect gamblers. Because winning makes some players feel in control of the game and staying in control is always interesting. Hence, they won't stop easily, even when the wins stop flowing. At the moment of losses, since they've been winning, they'll think of being lucky and that more wins would follow. Until nothing else is left to play. They've never been a time when a gambler kept winning without losing. So, the player will definitely face the both factors in one day. While gambling. Therefore, no need of picking the side that actually makes a player to lose control. Win or lose wash each other's hands in gambling. They appear accordingly, unplanned and unexpected. Their duty is to destabilize the player in ways they can't comprehend. Unless in card games where the winner is expected to continue playing, the right thing to do after winning is to play a little more, then stop. No player has ever gained profits out of losing control in gambling. He would embrace void decisions, because his emotion is not stabilized. That's why players should deposit little amount of money, such that even though they've lost control. The lack of money in their balance would help them get back to their control. And, they'll have nothing to lose or regret on the long run.

Both factors affect gamblers.

Loses is the worst of it IMO. If a gambler is winning most likely he may keep winning and even if he has lost control and start betting higher then it is to his advantage because he keeps making money. Moreover if he later start to lose, he is likely to run off with the remaining profit with him, at this stage he has the control to guide himself but not when he is losing. Losing in gambling makes you take even more wrong decisions because you want to either try other pattern to see if you will be lucky which is significant of the confirmation that you have lost control.

So someone who is winning his bet is likely not to change his system indicative of being in control but a losing person continuously changes system, indicative of losing control.

The reality there's nothing like that, when a gambler is winning, he will lose since the more you gamble the more probability you will lose. Either the winner or loser is gamble with self control, the result will not change.

Every gamblers are used to face losses, but not every gamblers can comeback and beat their own feelings/emotions.

I think there are different circumstances when a person become dependent on gambling.  I believe it is not only through winning and losing but also due to the state of the person's emotion.  Like during the time of stress and depression, people who find gambling as means of diverting their attention from their problem is another major reason why people get hooked in gambling and at the end become addicted to it.

There are certain studies and many articles and stories of people who become addicted of gambling because of running away from personal problem.  According to this article[1]  here are the triggers of gambling addiction:

Quote
Many people who develop a gambling addiction are considered responsible and dependable people, but some factors can lead to a change in behavior.

These could include:

retirement
traumatic circumstances
job-related stress
emotional upheaval, such as depression or anxiety
loneliness
the presence of other addictions
environmental factors, such as friends or available opportunities

However, self-control can be exercised if someone has the strong feeling for it. everyone is agree if emotions are a difficult enemy to fight for ourselves. When we try to follow our emotions, we will continue playing until our money runs out for the day. Meanwhile, when we try to control ourselves, our emotions remind us of defeat and lead us to the desire to "play again for a while." This one opportunity can make emotions more bad when the person experiences another loss.

Gambler loses control because of various things that may not be in the game itself, like mental health, or circumstances when they play.
Chasing losses or earning money from gambling never triggers me to lose my self-control since I pretty much only see gambling as a game. As Gattuso said, "Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit." So the moment they play gambling not for fun, but want to get rich, they will likely have that problem.

For me, I sometimes deposit more if I get rekt too quickly... For example, when I deposit $100 usually lasts forever, but sometimes it will only last one hour, if I'm not yet satisfied, then I probably will deposit more.

Wonderful, you have a point, however, the winning and the losing time can control a gambler as you said and still, the most active time that controls the mindset if a gambler is when he or she is losing in gamble.
At the time of lose an addicted gambler or a new time gamblers will want to win, the gambler will be so dem desperate of winning. Although during the time of winning a lot of gamblers still continue gambling, but that is not a good idea, because as long as you have double you money then the best option is just to stop the gamble.

It is easy to lose while gambling but it is hard to win, I don't really know why it is so but that is what really happened, it might be because we put in mind all the time we gambled that we will win big or I don't know.
In my little gamble experience, I have observed that the most times I win is when I don't put in mind to win a dime, so sometimes I do try my best to stop thinking about money or winning when I want to gamble.

Those who want to chase defeat then it will lose more without us realizing by continuing to deposit a lot of money that is worse because uncontrolled they have no responsibility when they have lost at the beginning, but this is the addiction is still very difficult for those who have habits like this.

Lust, emotional so that's what must be kept sometimes we ourselves are difficult to hold it, I know how when you have deposited but the money has run out, while you want to be long in the game then nothing else we do is have to be disciplined because if you pursue defeat for recovery will feel very difficult.

I was playing uncontrollably just because my gambling buddy got a big win, while I didn't get it. At that time I played together with my friend through the same site, the same bet amount and the same game, it was just that our luck was different. The victory that my gambling friend got, this made me even more ambitious to continue the game, and continue to make deposits, even though my gambling friend had decided to stop for a moment and enjoy the victory. And my stupid thing, I borrowed money from my friend, so that I could make a deposit to continue the game to be able to get a bigger win, than what my gambling friend got.

And as a result, even though I continued to extend my playing time, I still could not get the victory. And in the end I resigned myself, and considered that gambling was not something that could be expected. But even though I didn't get a win, but there was something I got and that was the most valuable thing, because departing from that incident also made me a slicker player again by playing naturally.

That's the nature of gamblers and there is no one from whom they can take advice because greediness already took their heart. This is the result of wanting to have huge amounts of money fast and spending most of their time in the Casino. That's why you really need to know where to go or who to accompany because there's no doubt that they will eventually lead you to the place where they always hang out. In that case, if you are poor and don't have money better not to befriend someone who is addicted to gambling rather look for somebody else who can benefit you a lot when spending time with them.

For such subjects as this, my opinion will always remain the same, and that is that, gambling is an activity which anyone can participate in if they so wish, it is actually important for us to understand that, we all do not behave or react to situations the same way, it is commonly said that as our faces are different, so is our desires and wants.

The way I react to winning a big amount of money from gambling may not be exactly the same way another person will react, and so it is with losing a big amount of money as well.

For some people, winning a big amount of money may be the reason they continue to gamble even harder than before, because they believe that they can win even more, while for some others, winning a big amount of money may be the end of them ever gambling again, because they wouldn't want to lose a dime from that which they have won.

And it is also this same way to losers in gambling, some gamblers will lose a huge amount of money and decide to leave gambling forever, while some other people will lose a huge amount of money, and continue to gamble even harder in hopes of atleast, winning back that which they lost.

So, in conclusion, this completely depends on the gamblers attitude or believe of gambling.

I have heard of lucky day in gambling. This especially happens when you are in offline gambling place and some gamblers kept winning and they believe that is happening probably because it is there lucky day. I have quite heard of lucky day in gambling so that is the point I was making that a gambler could continue gambling but would run away if that turns out the other way. I won't have big winning and at the end of the day I allow myself to lose it all and that is being in control of yourself.

The greatest dependence on gambling is actually activated at the point of a win. It doesn't matter whether is it a big win or a small win. Why, because at that point, all our happy emotions have kicked in and we are not thinking straight. We become very overconfident that we can win again if we bet again. And due to the fact that we want to keep experiencing the happy way we are feeling at the moment, as they call it the "thrill", we keep on gambling. This is the onset of gambling addiction.

Not having a gambling budget could indeed have a grave impact on your total well-being as a gambler and that also is the beginning of possible addictions,  but then also we have to understand that there is a clear line difference between being a consistent heavy loser,  and being and addicts and in the case you explain it seems that you may not be a full ledge addicts but almost becoming one.

I commend you always for being able to beat the addiction and coming out 100% clean and with a lot of lessons learned in the process because we can attest to the fact that being excessive will only lead to losses so no gambler should ever attempt to do that at any point in time to avoid such loses as mentioned and even possible addictions.

The both ideas of gambling dependence is true but I believe the first idea is the most occurring and correct reason for dependence in gambling, the excitement that comes from using a small amount to make a win more than 12x the staked amount is something else. It gives the gambler hope of making more wins, even for some who claim to gamble for fun, before you'll know it, they've turned to aggressive and irresponsible gamblers. Only few gamblers with the experience of big wins tend to gamble responsible, even if they experience some terrible losses. Aside that when gamblers experience some losses the idea of playing more to rise to their previous state is quite tempting but it can not be compared to when a gambler makes big wins. Mind you, gambling dependence and irresponsible gambling are separate thing so don't get it twisted.

I think the answer is very relative, depending on each individual or the gamblers themselves. however, there is nothing wrong with what you said. It could be said, in general, many gamblers get trapped when they get high wins. The desire to do it again and again will affect our minds and psychology which is formed from dopamine. repeating victory after victory is something that makes us happy, especially as our experience increases, our level of getting higher wins will form by itself. Well, things like that are usually common problems and are our shared experience. So, gambling is complex and not just as you say. there are many reasons, assumptions, in every gambler.

But let's talk from your side, yes I agree that addiction to gambling can be triggered when we experience loss after loss. In most cases, our emotions are unconsciously involved to a greater extent, especially with the emotion of anger. things like this often make us lose control of ourselves. When the time comes when our money runs out, then we realize that we have been carried away by a condition of anger that causes us to lose self-control. and believe it or not, this experience will almost be experienced by most gamblers. for beginners, they will feel disappointment, depression and so on. For those who are familiar with gambling and understand it properly, this is part of the risk.

I think the gambler loses control when he notices money can be made easily, through a simple click on his smartphone or computer when gambling. This aspect is even more powerful than the fact he realizes it's possible to hit big winnings. It's not exactly about the prize size, but about the possibility of generating easy money through simple clicks, without doing any effort on the process, at anytime. It's an instant method of making money at first impression. Things he accepted that would take him years or decades to achieve financially now have the possibility of being achieved in few days or months. However, that is just a temporary effect of the excitement gambling creates on him. It's so intense that makes the person disconnect from reality for a while, having megalomania delusions.

The gambling win will bring back anything in your life,if you want to own the new company for the business. This was the possible by doing the gambling and the big win from the same gambling sites. The gambler who had trust the gambling sites will win one day in the same gambling sites. But the patience was the key for the success in the gambling sites, many gambler will leave the gambling sites after the small loss in the gambling sites. The gambler should not depend on the gambling sites,he need to considered the gambling sites as the entertainment. The lucky gambler will earn the profit from the gambling site, the bad luck gambler will o learn of the game of the gambling on every loss in the gambling sites.

This is correct when you are just beginning on your gambling journey but this changes to the later idea when you already experience winning huge amount using small amount but later on lose everything. That time will make more focus on recovering your losses rather than being optimistic in winning big.

Casino will surely win in the using house so the more you play the more chance you lose that will make you end up on chasing losses rather than focusing on winning for the sole purpose of profit.

If a person addicted to gambling was a super genius who didn't lose any bet and was in profit, he still wouldn't stop playing, he would continue playing until he died or a relative forced him into a hospital for treatment. against addiction. In other words, addiction is a disease, it doesn't matter if the person is making a lot of profit, that person still won't stop playing because in that person's mind, winning or losing doesn't matter anymore, what that person wants is the feeling that feel when playing, this can be seen if casinos allowed the addict to play without putting money in

and at the same time, the casinos must also allow the addict not to win money, but he could play without putting money in, we would see that the addict would not stop playing, he would continue playing every day and for many hours. So if we ask the addict: what are they gaining by playing in a casino where they don't put money in and don't win money either? I believe that the addict's answer would be that he plays because he needs to play to continue feeling good and without playing he doesn't see what he will do with his life anymore. In other words, while for a normal person the day has 24 hours and in those 24 hours they need to do many important things, for the addict the day has 24 hours and in those 24 hours they have to stay playing all day, they even don't like going to work , at school and anywhere else, they just want to play

At the moment we win, we usually think that we can possibly win more if we continue gambling. It turns out that our mindset of winning builds strong rather than thinking that we can possibly lose. But yes, it changes everything after suffering losses and failure, and the purpose of why a gambler continues gambling at this time is to chase the money they've lost. In the end, we become a victim of our own actions from the wrong mindset and uncontrollable emotions. It can possibly happen to anyone, especially for newcomers and I believe this seems normal until we realize and correct it.

Have to agree with you, I believe it won't be wrong to say that no gambler comes into gambling with the right mindset about gambling, most new gamblers come in with the mindset of winning a lot of money and becoming a millionaire over night, but unfortunately, this is not how it is in gambling, some do get the new gamblers-luck and win a good amount of money at the very beginning of their gambling journey, but generally, gambling is not a get rich quick scheme, and so many new gamblers after realizing this stops gambling entirely, while some other who have lost good money try to see if they can recover that money, and from there, they become regular gamblers, and some even become addicts in the process.

This is exactly my story too, I came into gambling to make money and become rich, unfortunately, I realized this wasn't as easy as I thought it was, I tried to see if I could win some of the money I lost and the stop, but I kept winning little and losing more, the little wins made me believe that one day, I could win big, so I kept gambling, and till this day, I am still chasing that big winning.

When you've just started to gamble and you hit a jackpot that's the start of you getting hooked on gambling because your mindset shifted to easy money and you think that you can do it over and over again, I have seen so many gamblers gettign excited even after winning a small amount, for me, it's better for a newbie to lose in his first sessions so he'll have the idea that gambling is not easy money and its a luck base.

I think it's the other way around the beginner will rather think that it's hard to win in gambling so he will manage his bankroll and take it easy on wagering to keep the session longer and enjoyable, I started this way so I know that there are more losses than winnings in gambling.

This is true on most gambler that is still an amateur level even long time of playing. It’s really dumb to think about chasing loss on your current game but it’s unavoidable for those who can’t let go because they are using money they can’t afford to lose.

Chasing losses especially if the loss happened from different time is a punishment when gambling because your mind will not be enjoying when playing. In able to win on gambling, You should be positive since the real prize in gambling is the entertainment you will get from it using your money. Thinking about losses while playing will surely make your mind not at ease.

How many times do you think a person would continue winning his bets in a role without losing. That's where the win and lose syndrome comes to play with the instinct of the gambler. In a situation where he wins and along the line loses then wins again. Would he have the self control to stop playing and go home. It's like a more interesting day. And along the line the system begin to bring losses to him. The decision he takes during this period can determine the outcome of what would be his gambling experience that day; joy or sadness. As it's rare to just win consecutively without losing. But, players can lose consecutively, without having any win. In such a situation, then I'd agree with you, because he'll gamble more to see a win. And he'll greedily expect to see a big win. Most times the house would trick him by giving him a big win equivalent to all he's lost that day. At that moment if the player has strong self control, he can stop and try next time. But, because he believes winning follows after winning, he'll continue playing with same thoughts that before his bank roll exhausts he'll get a bigger win. There the house can sweep all the funds leaving him with nothing. In my previous response, you'd notice that even if the winner doesn't have the self discipline to stop, he'll blow it up and end up playing like he's been losing. That's why I'd suggest that both factors are alike and we must not be carried away by one more than the other. Although losing can be worst than winning, in taking decisions. Yet it still depends on the player.

If you are gambling just for fun for sure you can still control or limit yourself whether you win or lose. But if you are aiming to profit, for sure both of the scenarios given by the OP would eventually end up in the same outcome. If you win, you have the mindset of you have extra winning money as a reason for you to keep gambling, but if you lose, you have the reason to continue by trying to recover your loss, which can lead to addiction cause it would be a cycle. Plus if you started gambling without having a plan such as stopping at a $100 loss or win, for sure you would keep continuing gambling, don't hesitate to take profit, cause isn't that your goal in gambling, is to earn money? Gamblers also tend to lose their control when one of the two starts to act for every round, which is their mental and emotional, you would be pressured to never stop as you can't control both.

I assume that with "control" in the terms of gambling and betting, you mean the hability a gambler has to step off their chair or log off their favorite online casino and accept loses, move on from it and do not continue for the rest of the day.

I believe it is actually a mixture of those things you have mentioned: for a gambler to lose control he only needs to realize he can indeed have the chance to win money (by having a significant win) after it happens, the gambler will likely continue to gamble, leading to loses, he may even lose all what he earned. In this position, the gambler cannot accept the reality of his losing money we could easily earn and withdraw (but did not because greed) and tries to recover some of this money through intensive gambling whatever how much money is left in their pocket.
It is a sad situation to be in, honestly, I hope neither of you will ever go through such a state of mind...

One of the greatest mistake any gambler will make is to try to chase a particular direction,  that open them up to higher level of risk and for sure it doesn't matter which direction you are chasing whether be it winning or losing direction is important to avoid that mental state and take gambling for what it is which is for fun and a temporarily result and the inability to repeat it results this is what make gambling to be a risky venture.

Much more also,  the best form of practices as a gambler os to always try as much as possible to always take a break after every game time which most likely going to be the baseline for you escape from losing your money while trying to be overly relying on your ability to repeat the trends at some point in time.

Yes, I'm sure almost all gamblers have experienced what you mentioned, especially beginners, and I have also experienced it and it was a very valuable experience that will not be repeated in future bets.
And in my opinion, this is one of the casino's ways of getting gamblers addicted, so that they have a sense of curiosity that makes them continue playing when they win in the hope of getting their winnings back. In fact, that's when they were tested in terms of self-control. If it cannot be controlled it will always result in defeat due to loss of consciousness. So gamblers must be alert when this happens and try not to repeat it and must change the way they play with full awareness when playing again, so that they can control themselves when they win and stop and also stop when they experience several losses.

Once things are out of hand; losses are no longer tracked & the gambler himself is needing help in particular with financial aspect. A gambler should be aware of his financial capability whether to still continue gambling or not. losing control is simply losing awareness of what is happening with his/her gambling activity. Lack of control with factors affecting one's gambling behavior is simply a sign that one is already losing control. Being unaware of consequences in every bet is also a sign for sure.

Chasing losses is very common among gamblers, either old or new and this is happening because not all gamblers have a way of making money, they scope around for some money and go back to the casino, when people chases money this way just know that they don't have a lot going on in their lives, they are living hand to hand or it's also possible that they are making too less money.

If you are making too less money from your job you should be risking too less on gambling, $1 is something you should afford to lose but they won't, the reward that $1 will bring them won't be life changing, they are greedy and jobless at the same time.

You can love gambling or the sports games that you bet on but know that the games doesn't love you back, bet responsibly or not at all, this is the right way when gambling regardless of how much you are making.

Such gamblers always find it difficult to be responsible gamblers. They spend most of their time trying to turn gambling into a full time job. By participating extra hours, gambling with the little money they've left. They'll go to gamble with borrowed money and when they're not winning, instead of halting the game, that's when the eagerness to gamble more erupts. Relating them with what Op has on his thread, you'd see that they're those that lose control when they're losing. Don't know if they'll be greedy enough not to take their win immediately they win. Because, it could a golden opportunity. As they're aware about the next result when they continue playing games. Most gamblers looking for quick money don't need to test another luck, after seeing a significant win. Maybe in their next gambling session, they can increase a little bit the amount of money to wager. The problem about such gamblers also include, causing harm to their family and society, by wasting resources. Since they have in mind from the onset that gambling is the only way of getting their daily bread. They can waste family money on gambling. I wonder if they don't care about feeding with the money, instead of trying to multiply the money in gambling. In a nutshell, your response, also contributes to the fact that in Op's question, it has to do with the situation of the gambler. Not everybody would lose control, when they're losing or vice versa. A responsible gambler, will definitely think about his decision, whether win or lose.

everything you say here is completely true, when someone loses gambling then the only thing on their mind is trying hard to recover the capital they have, accepting defeat when gambling is not easy, especially if your income is really low, that's why always set a budget in Every gambling activity you do, don't do anything stupid by using your savings or emergency money to continue gambling, you are just wasting your time because when you try hard to return your capital, then it will always be difficult to achieve success.

I think for me, it's more on when you experience that losing streak and then you may want to comeback again and again and to recoup. So like in 2 days of gambling, well yeah, you win some, but it's not enough for you. So obviously, you will go back and try your luck again and see if you can comeback and win or continue with that losing streak. So naturally, we all know that the odds are not going to be in your side, the longer you play.

So you loses all control that you have, your decision is clouded and all you want to think is to play and chase and hope that you are going to win.

But definitely that will not be the case for the majority of us. As compare to winning, maybe you may stop for a day or two and just enjoy the money or maybe you can even think that you will not play again because it's very hard to replicate that success.

Not only in gambling, I think anything that has winning and losses in it, we humans find it very difficult to overshadow the feelings of it to put under our control. We always intend to gamble more to our satisfaction or dissatisfaction as the case may be(winning or losses) until we find a reason not to again at the moment.

That's why you would find some gamblers desire to gain profits no matter how little it is from their gambling involvement for the day. So whenever moments of loss or wins begin to kick into their bets, they find it hard to resist it but have the urge to recover or bet more from their losses or wins which they end up losing badly than they are unexpected to because they want to recoup their losses or being greedy.

"Desire", "Greed" if those two combines then that's when gamblerd lose their control and beyond their limit and boundaries, desire as they gamble and earn some they will desire more and more because it gives them the thrill and excitement and also money of course, greed, even they earn some quite an amount they will want more hoping that they can double or triple it. Sad reality but that is the nature of humans, they tend to want more then what they get and what they need which we know where it will get them, as a result they could suffer or fortunate, but if they for instance become very luck it will not stop them from betting more as they have more money. That is something that we can't fix in humans, and of course, for gamblers, unless they fix it by themselves, the only thing that could stop them is themselves.

I'd say it also comes on greatest losses. People will want to recoup whatever they lost on gambling platforms, which will push them to play more and spend more in hopes of getting back what was lost. They will lose self-control due to this drive, which is extremely unhealthy and not something that is recommended for anyone to do.

Winning big also influences people the same. They think that since it's easy to make money this way, they will just continue on this path and all is well. That's not the case unfortunately, and luck isn't always guaranteed when it comes to gambling. You may be enjoying a lot of money due to some wins today, but it isn't guaranteed that you'll be enjoying the same wins the next time.

I'd say both really. It depends on what the mindset of a player is at the time of the win/loss. Most of the time, it adapts to a mindset where they should just continue since they can still win/win more, so really, it's more like both. A winner would gamble more since he's, well, a winner. He can win more, so why not? A loser will try to play more to win since he already lost, they'd think it can only go up from there no? Eh that's not really how math goes though.

But both mindsets come from a desiring/greedy mind. You wouldn't really entertain the idea of betting more even if you've already lost your entire monthly salary in one session if you weren't greedy really.

The moment when the gambler get too over confident on himself in a particular bet he thinks is too sure to loose, another one is on the occasion whereby they have to borrow money for gambling because they can't afford to and yet miss the bet and loose the game, lastly is when a gambler is so addicted to gambling and have no priority for other things than gambling and yet they can't show any proof for it.

I'd say it also comes on greatest losses. People will want to recoup whatever they lost on gambling platforms, which will push them to play more and spend more in hopes of getting back what was lost. They will lose self-control due to this drive, which is extremely unhealthy and not something that is recommended for anyone to do.

I highly agree, that gamblers often loss control when they start a revenge gambling.  That is when they don't mind about everything and want to show the house that they will be the winner at the end.  Control is loss when a player is too focus on chasing loses and chasing win  making them forget about everything and only focus on his aim.

Everything in gambling when we lose the ability to make a sound decision is the time when the gambler loses control.

What do you think about it?
I think a gambler loses control of his or her gambling habits when they begin to look and give excuses for every time they choose to gamble irresponsibly. This excuses may small even without the gambler noticing, and become overwhelming that they play in the gamblers head whenever they are about to make a wrong gambling decision or have already made the decision.

When a gambler starts permitting these excuses, he or she is already loosing control.

I agree with you that gambling itself depends on people playing it. If they feel satisfied with the results they have achieved they will immediately stop and take whatever profit they get, but if they are not satisfied and think they can win more then they will continue gambling until get satisfactory results but that doesn't mean they can stop immediately, they feel that luck is still on their side, so sometimes gamblers who are filled with joy after winning won't easily stop unless they can control it themselves.

while gamblers who are covered in losses try to recover their losses by carrying out gambling activities continuously hoping they can recover the money they have lost so in conclusion gambling has different purposes, they use gambling depending on what they get if they can control their gambling properly. well then events like "losing control" will be handled by themselves.

When we are at loss then the main thing that we would really be having in mind is on how to cope up with those losses or simply trying out to break even or taking it back or simply we are really that chasing losses
and this what makes the situation gotten more worst is that you cant really be able to make yourself that able to control and these what makes things ended up on being messy. Loosing moment is the most
common scenario or condition on which most gamblers would really be that losing off their control. Somewhat it is also that possible when we are really that winning because when greed kicks in then we would be also
losing our control specially with our winning amounts on which you would be enveloped by your greed on which it would really be causing for it for you to play even further.

On the time that you would lose control then you would surely lose. This is why you should really be that careful when it comes on dealing with gambling.
You would really be finding yourself at great trouble and risks if you are really just that too careless on what you are doing.

Many gamblers have many trigger point to be honest. But commonly it’s often seen that, after losing a large portion of the bankroll, the gamblers, losses control and go all in with the remaining balance to cover the losses. But at this point of time, they should have slowed a bit and could have analysed to bet further. But this is the time, it is often seen that you bet blindly without thinking the outcome. It’s very hard to control ourselves, when the hard earned money vanishes in seconds.

I agree with the losing and recouping part because that need for recovery would always put you in the same situation and push you in a greedy way, which is always in favor of the casino. If you can't remove the idea, then it could quickly develop into an addiction and eventually become a problem because most gamblers go through countless losses. The idea of earning endlessly through gambling probably depends because when i'm in that losing situation, I usually expect the worst from my next set of bets.

Most gamblers are often trapped in a situation like that where when they lose they tend to play again to recover their losses and not think about their money. The result is predictable that most of them end up losing and more extreme they become bankrupt and sell all their assets.
That's why it's important to be a responsible gambler who can understand their condition and not lose control when they lose.

Or it will be heavily triggered if you have a lose streak never had single win and your budget for gambling is almost empty. I think this happens to everyone too

Irresponsible gamblers only have money, money and money in their heads, the aim of gambling is only one, namely winning to make money. Gambling is not a scheme to make money easily, there are always challenges in it. They will play casually when they have a big win, but will lose control when they lose their money. Gamblers will be addicted when they win big, while when they lose continuously, it is called losing control because there is a desire to win more to recover the losses they have spent.

Well, I think both when a gambler starts losing and winning. Simply because humans are forever discontented, one could make a huge win, but because he wanted more he thinks he could win everything or at least add a little more to what he already has, so he will continue gambling. That's losing control their, losing control of the moment that he could have left the casino because that was one of the few moments where he coped up with the loses he made since day 1 of his gambling.
While the other who loses everything, is obviously the ones who's gonna be a mess up, a total lose of control. He wouldn't have ended up in that situation if has not lost control along the way.

That's one of the answers because this question is an open ended sort of question, someone can lose control when they are also losing and still continue play not paying attention to the idea of losing more money than they should at that session. Another moment of losing control is being mad or hysterically angry at the game because you tell yourself and believe that the game isn't giving you any break or that the game is purposefully making you lose which is kind of stupid if you finally calm down but during that hysterical moment of losing of control, that seems to be the right thing. Another moment of losing control is thinking that everything's out to get you and that all the games in the casino is rigged when you are losing.

Irrational behavior can happen after losing or winning. Our judgement is affected whenever we face extreme emotions. The euphoria from winning big may cause us to think that we've uncovered a genius strategy that is going to make us rich.

Similarly, when we suffer a great loss we will feel desperation and attempt to gain back what we have lost. It is even possible to feel both extremes during the same betting session — going from agony to enthusiasm and vice versa.

I think both are possible reasons to make the gambler lose control but thats is not always the case. Not everyone who wins big or losses big, losses control. Some choose to stay in control of the game and just enjoy it. Let us not hope for the worst.
Anyway, you see when some wins big, it creates overconfidence to win consistently that makes gambler hope that it can happen once again, that it is their time with luck. Then a significant loss can be emotionally distressing. The desire to regain what was lost then disappointment can drive compulsive behavior. Gamblers may think they can recover their losses and return to the previous state of success. Thats why I always think that regardless if it is a big win or loss, gamblers should learn to pause. Its our mind and emotions that pushes us to decide impulsively.

There are many ways to lose control of gambling. I believe most of it is when people want to regain their losses. And once they continue to lose beyond budget, that is when the real problem starts. Spending money outside of the regular budget or in a worst-case scenario is to borrow money from someone with interest. Imagine losing all the money borrowed with interest. It's either the borrower becomes paranoid or it becomes shameless prolonging the payment or even not paying it.

This is why it is so important for people to stick with their betting budget before starting. Also, there should be a time limit to avoid getting addicted.

Both assumptions are correct because people could react to wins and losses differently. Inexperienced gamblers who win big in their early days in gambling might assume that it is easy to win. This might make them depend on gambling wins to meet their needs because of the assumption that they can easily win. The other assumption is called loss chasing. This behavior is fueled by the feeling that you will recover your losses if you keep playing. But this is not always the case because playing more games doesn't guarantee more wins. Taking a break after constant loss is advisable and following a gambling budget is ideal.

It comes with both times of winning and losing. That is the reason why we think that we are good enough and wanted to go for more when we win. You can see the confidence for each of us when the time comes at that point.

And when we are losing, it is also the same. Because like the always talk we do about chasing our losses, that is how it is. The reason why we do not give up when we loss because we think that we can be so much better and will have a better result if we do for a couple more plays.

That's the main reason why gamblers loses their control, because they always think about the money they've spent, tendency to lose their control because they don't know how to reclaim their loses in gambling, especially if they have no money left in their bankrolls. Losing a large bet should be a sign to stop playing but some gamblers still continue to bet even they've lost so much money and I think they don't know when to stop even if they already build a self limitation and budget. Sometimes gamblers experiencing post-loss speeding, wherein they place a bet quicker after the loss out of frustration from losing the game which results to them to become more impulsive. So instead of becoming more cautious, they become reckless about their spending habits in gambling.

Yes you have well buttressed my point about the advantage of having a winning more than losses or having a winning in the beginning. My point is if you have winning you can keep playing until you realized the losses have started coming and it is a chronic addict that would not run off with the little balance remaining. If I'm in such shoes of course I will take the decision to stop at the moment and wait to continue next time because I will also consider using the winning as a bankroll for the next time I will try. Anyway, for an addict, some of these reasoning may not matter.

You've made a remarkable point, about staying in control. While gambling, the gambler holds full culpability on their decision. Whether to lose control or not. The demoralizing factor is their emotions on the results of other gamblers. Failing to acknowledge the individual difference in gambling experience, leads gamblers to choose a wrong route in decision making. A player that possesses critical thinking, has better advantage over others who don't. Continuously, playing games due to the outcome of another gambler's bet, restructures the self control of the gambler to think he deserves to win, like everyone else. If he is in control, what matters to others won't be meaningful to him. Hence, he'll move ahead with his conclusion of hitting the exit button. Notwithstanding the success of the player next to him. Healthy thoughts, facilitates in minimizing loss of control as gamblers. As the brain would keep reminding us of the repercussion of trying again; running broke. Which brings forth anxiety. When we win, it's superb and worth celebrating with more trial, to see if it's our most lucky day. But, the opposite may surface as a result. Then, our thoughts should also go to the opposite side. Gambling is a game of mind. Refusing to respect our instinct, is wrong, mainly in gambling. The possibility of experiencing a simultaneous win, isn't one in gambling. When a player wins twice or thrice in a roll, it's a trap. Though we call it luck. But, when the losses starts appearing, withdrawing from the initial happiness easily is very hard. The player wants to hit another joy again and again. Here, he'd lose all his wins, trying to regain the money he lost. What stopped him from stopping, needs to be studied.

The biggest addiction in gambling can occur when he experiences loss because, with that loss, he wants to recover his losses by continuing to gamble. If only he could think that continuing to gamble would not allow him to recover his losses and could actually result in greater losses. He must be able to overcome his disappointment so that he does not have the desire to continue gambling, which could result in even greater losses. But the reality is that there are still many people who rely on gambling to make money, even when they experience large losses. They still want to recover their losses and that makes them addicted to gambling.

The biggest mistake gamblers make is trying to recover their losses, that's why many end up becoming addicted, even though it is clear that addiction is very difficult to cure, that's why many experienced gamblers on this forum are always reminded to control themselves when gambling, don't gamble outside the limits so that they become Gambling addicted, gamblers who have experienced a lot of losses should not hope that they can be restored to normal.

You should limit your budget from the start so that you don't exceed your gambling limits so you can still control it well. but if you already realize that you are addicted, you should reduce your gambling activities because if you continue gambling it will get worse, don't become a gambler who loses control because that will drain all the money we have, play wisely because addiction comes from greedy behavior.

In cases like this there are many moments that can make a person lose control of gambling, even though he already has financial restrictions, what you mentioned is one example that indeed such things often happen to gamblers that ultimately make someone continue gambling, because they want to return to the best state before.

And usually because of that, their mentality also becomes bad, because they think they can return to their previous situation, even though they are even more in a downturn, and at that time what they have built before gambling to follow the rules is all destroyed by such a small mistake. emotional control is very important in cases like this, which if you have good emotional control, you will always be wiser in trying your luck even after winning, you play once more and then lose, you will still stop because you feel that the benefits of the previous multiples are still mostly on your side.

I think this kind of mistake is more likely in slot gamblers. ;D

It reminds me of a little child crying and wanting a toy. He doesn’t want to listen to anyone, but his parents won’t give it to him, no matter how loudly he cries. No one can stop an adult player if he wants to win back, his mental and physical abilities allow him to achieve this.

If you enter gambling out of desperation, it’s the same as simply throwing money into a burning fire. I will never go for such players. As for me, I bet on football matches to get a little fun and excitement in the game. It even brings a little joy, but not despair.

Yes, that means that gamblers can really get into the addiction fae unconsciously, none other than that because they are too happy with the sensation of excitement that they managed to get through winning at a certain moment, and after that I'm sure that in their minds or they mean they will assume that "it's very easy to get money by just gambling", I'm sure they will think like that. And after that yes they will continue to gamble with that false belief, so the conclusion is basically gambling addiction can come from anywhere, addiction can come from winning which makes you feel happy and addicted and also addiction can come from losing which makes you even more curious and doesn't want to stop gambling.

I think it's a good way as you suggested, it seems like it's true that they should do some ways to be able to make their minds calm and normal again one of them is like what you said, do meditation in a quiet place, exercise yoga and others, that's a good idea, with that I think they will be more able to control themselves because they have a pretty good awareness when gambling.

As well, gamblers who allow desperation to have a better part of them are those who gamble more than they can afford and so they try to chase back those loses. Gambling is not a source of income or living but a trier to multiply our bankroll so we can't afford to do gambling like all our lives depends on the winning for survival. Do a budget of the bankroll and when you exhaust it without winning then rest and play next time, this is the reasonable practice to gambling and that will not cause any gambler to be desparate but more people will get to that level if they keep depending on gambling to survive in this harsh economy.

When the gambler start to have a debt. Even if it's small debt, that will lead to a huge debt. Due to addiction to gambling, it will give you a huge problem if you start to ask somebody money. If you really want to gamble, be sure you have enough money and well prepared. Playing or betting is some games should give you fun and excitement not debt. So be sure that you are responsible enough and you manage your money really well before you start to gamble.

But I believe that the greatest dependence on gambling appears at the moment of loss, when the player admits in his head the idea that he could earn so much. He is disappointed, but wants to recoup. It is at this moment that the desire comes to play again and again in order to return to the previous state.

What do you think about it?
It's when someone gets addicted to gambling of course. Chasing winnings or loss are the most common reason for this. You can't stop betting when you are chasing to be honest and I know that this has happened so many times to most gamblers.

A man loses control when he allows excitement to completely take over his mind. In order to prevent this, you need to have a good command of meditation, practice yoga, take a number of psycho-training courses, and learn to control stress. And strictly adhere to a pre-determined plan of action

the things you mentioned can help someone to control themselves, but the important thing about all of that is when someone understands themselves and considers that gambling is a game just for fun to fill free time. when they understand that gambling is just entertainment and nothing more than that, they tend to be more in control of themselves and ready for everything. they will be more disciplined in their gambling and know the limits in doing things and balance gambling and their personal lives.

The moment of loss is when the addiction to gambling begins to show if not controlled. At this point the gambler will easily tell a lie so that someone can loan money to them. At the back of their mind, the only to repay the loan will be after they have doubled and recover their loss.

If you ask many gamblers at what point did they struggle to stop gambling to prevent too much gambling, if they are truthful, they will tell you that it was during the moment of loss. That is where the real struggle is because they have lost and are disappointed and pained and they are looking for closure. And they think the closure they'll get is through gambling again or more.

There is a lot of professional documentation on the subject, self-control is not associated with winning or losing intrinsically, it is something more complex than that, it involves factors such as bank management, times per game section, even diet, you can read a book by any professional and it is clear that self-control depends on many factors that some players ignore, even things as simple as sleeping well, in short, it is something of years, not moments.

I hope you also know that the greatest dependence on gambling appears when a gambler see or hears that a fellow gambler has won a lot of money? This one is even the hardest moment because whether they win or lose, they will always be there to play again because they have the evidence that somebody win, so having a loss will only be a bad moment of short time that will be forgotten and winning will be validation of the gambler that motivated them in the first place.

Whichever they have in mind, I don't think it's a good idea to be too dependent on gambling just to win something big. If you win, your are safe and you may continue to play or exit but if you loss, you will be compelled to try once again. I doing if quit is going to be the next line of action that will ring on your head which will result to addiction and from addiction, you may lost it completely to gambling that will definitely affect your ways of life.

I think this kind of mistake is more likely in slot gamblers. ;D

I think they lose control when they get a small win, because at that time they will be confused about continuing the game or cashing it in. But most of those who continue the game because of a small win think that their luck has not run out, so they decide to continue the game even though by continuing the game, it is not necessarily going to get another win, instead it can spend the winnings they got at the beginning.
What often happens, when they continue the game, and most of the gamblers who continue the game they get a win that makes them upset and want to return the winnings they have gotten, but it needs to be underlined, with the loss of the winnings they get, based on their own choices, so they should be able to accept it instead of getting upset and wanting to gamble again. And this in my opinion can be said to be the moments when they lose control.

When a gambler becomes addicted to gambling, it is the time when he will start to lose control of himself. But actually, even when he starts playing, he has the opportunity to lose control of himself, especially since we know that gambling can tempt many people not to want to stop gambling. Those who can't stop have lost control of themselves, so all they think about is how they can get more wins. In fact, if they look at their gambling account balance, they can see that they have more money now than when they first made their deposit. But that still didn't make him realize that what he was doing was out of bounds. And that will also make him an irresponsible gambler because he has lost that responsibility when he decides to continue gambling.

When it comes to money, men get excited—sometimes overly excited—and there's always a chance that this excitement will cause them to lose control. This is the problem with addicts; when they get too excited and end up playing more games to make up for their disappointment when they don't get the money they expected, they end up implicating themselves by becoming addicts. They'll continue exacting revenge on it. I am aware of the advantages of registering for yoga, but not many people in my area do.  If their are activities to reduce mental stress it is good and will help relief what ever the stress might be either loss or not.

When some gamblers win money from gambling, they will get excited and will want to keep on gambling. When people like that start losing money, they won’t want to give up, they will have the belief that they have won before, and if they don’t give up, they are still going to win back all the amount they have lost. That’s why some people get addicted to gambling just because of one good win that they once had, they will have confidence to win again even if they lose frequently.

And some gamblers do get addicted to gambling just because of their frequent losses, they will find it difficult to stop gambling because of the amount they have lost, they will always be hearts broken whenever they calculate the amount they lost, they will want to keep on gambling, hoping to hit a Jack pot in a day that they might never hit.

It's all about the human psyche - a big win (for example, the size of 10 average salaries in the country where the player lives) allows you to solve many problems.
A person who absolutely does not expect this, who comes to the casino, can suddenly afford the equipment or clothes that he has long wanted, the latest iPhone, and close the loan that he took out before. And this makes me think that this can always happen, you just need to place bets.
This is a strong devaluation of one's own work.

That thought of how much we've spent gambling, can be settled with the number of wins and losses that followed. If the number of losses are way too higher than the wins. The player can re-strategize. Gambling out of the disappointment feelings due to the litany of losses, we've had. Will be detrimental to the gambler; effects more losses. As the player won't gamble with clear thoughts anymore. One big mistake of gamblers is, gambling with an unclear mind. Their decisions won't be practically effective. Thereby, staying angrier at every single lose that appears on the screen. Talking about excitement, it's a recurrent problem with humans. There is an advice; don't take decisions when you're too happy or sad. The state of mind must be balanced. Once excited, gamblers wager double the amount they used to gamble. Sooner, the whole funds travels, with speed of light, back to the house. The anxiety worsens, when the gambler remembers he didn't enjoy a dime of the money he won. It's an involuntary action for the brain to trigger excitement, when we win. To tackle making bad decision, the player can withdraw a specific percentage of the money. Then wager more until the rest gets exhausted. Luckily, if he wins again, he can repeat the same thing or wager them all, till he's satisfied with the fun, he's got.

Chasing defeat is what makes it difficult for them to control themselves so they become addicted because they always think that if they keep doing it they will definitely get the results they want, indeed the saying once said "effort will not betray the results" so they continue to think that if they keep trying to chase defeat they will achieve victory. They shouldn't have thoughts like that because the concept is different, we can enjoy gambling happily if we don't think about winning and losing so that we can be more controlled in carrying out gambling activities comfortably.

Chasing losses can make gamblers lose control because they will think about their losses and need to be able to recover their losses. It wasn't good for him because with his emotions rising, he wouldn't be able to think clearly but would only want to recover his losses. He actually knows that this could pose a risk of losing more money but he doesn't seem to care about it because, with his increasing emotions, he just wants to get the money he lost by continuing to gamble. That is why a person must continue to practice self-control so that he can restrain himself from wanting to recover his losses and accept his defeat. If he loses at gambling today, he can still gamble again on another day, and maybe he can be luckier. But to recover his losses it would only make him lose self-control.

maybe some people have given a more precise answer, but from my assumption, winning or losing can encourage a gambler to continue betting to make a profit or restore the situation.

when a gambler gets a win he will be greedy and feel he will get bigger results than he got and that when he will lose control and continue betting but usually if he has won he usually not continue to get a winning streak he will even get a losing streak and trigger thoughts to chase defeat.
likewise, when a gambler experiences a losing streak, that when he thinks of chasing losses and making deposits to chase losses as I said above.

winning or losing can be an incentive to lose control but it all depends on the mindset of each gambler.

Both results can make players become dependent on gambling, either when they win very big amounts of money or when they experience a big losses because both provide curiosity so that players find it difficult to stop.
When you lose, you feel curious about why you haven't gotten good results, you also feel like you need to recover the money you have lost, so you keep playing, and when you win, you feel the need to continue because you think it's your lucky time.
Gamblers who can control themselves well will stop when they feel the need to stop, regardless of the results they are getting, whether they are making a profit or vice versa, but those who cannot control themselves will feel the need to always play to get what they want, even when they have already got what they want will not immediately stop because he is still dissatisfied with his gambling.

Yes, that's what happens to many gamblers, where they can't control themselves until they finally become addicted to gambling, and it's even worse than they imagined. It is true that when someone is addicted to gambling, they will not realize it and are still fine even though if other people saw it, they would think of them as a gambler with a serious gambling addiction. We will lose control when emotions provoke us because we have experienced many defeats. We can't imagine a gambler who can initially control themselves, and finally, after gambling often and experiencing more and more losses, they slowly lose control of themselves.

But I would like to note that any ludomaniac is curable if he knows how to empathize or who experiences shame or reflection.

The old 'chasing losses' routine! Serious gamblers consider it a rite of passage. Self-control loss? Friends, its game. Consider: whats a bet without an emotional ride? Gambling is unexpected, heart-pounding, and exciting. Self-control? Please. Not a monastery, but a casino. Riding the highs and lows is key. Accepting loss is for quitters. A true gambler knows the next big victory is imminent.

So he's confused? Good. Chess players overthink. Gambling requires gut instincts and some recklessness. The fun is there! Embrace turbulence, gamble, and who knows? Luck may smile upon you. Nobody talks about when they played it safe and went home.  ::) ::) ::)

If you enter gambling out of desperation, it’s the same as simply throwing money into a burning fire. I will never go for such players. As for me, I bet on football matches to get a little fun and excitement in the game. It even brings a little joy, but not despair.

Taking a break after a significant loss is smart, but reason can't always overcome our emotions. I would even say that almost never, this is the main idea of gambling. I know that some professional players who have been making money from gambling for many years (and we know very, very few of them) can continue to play even after a strong loss. Probably it was tilt, but this is what distinguishes a professional: this can happen to him no more than 3 times a year and he always says what he feels in order to understand whether tilt affects his decision-making or not. I stopped playing with high stakes because I know that I have no advantage with smart decisions over the gambling platform.

The fact is that not everyone can defeat their curiosity and their selfish feelings, indeed the best way is as you say that is to stop immediately when your gambling session is closed with defeat, but it is very difficult to do and maybe only some people can do it, because usually when you lose, your emotions will increase because the final result is not what you want, especially if you gamble with a large enough budget, and with that the curiosity is getting higher which is driven by uncontrolled emotions, which is why gamblers can lose more than what they originally budgeted, none other than because all the starting points of the problem are in the mindset that is too excessive in expectations.

In my opinion there are some significant differences between professional gamblers and novice gamblers, it is clear because in terms of how they play professional gamblers are more experienced and that means they will know better what to do and what to avoid in certain conditions, basically every gambler definitely wants to win but for those who are experienced they have ways to minimize the amount of loss one of which is by stopping when losing, they will not let emotions get the better of them, because of course if they let it then surely they will lose all control.

winning or losing can be an incentive to lose control but it all depends on the mindset of each gambler.
Yes, that's right, because mindset determines gamblers' behavior and how they play, whether gambling for entertainment and fun or seeking wealth or making gambling a source of permanent income, but when gambling doesn't have the right goal and mindset, it usually gets out of control, it's hard to determine where to go. which way we gamble, at least we have to know the purpose of why we have to gamble.

At least don't lose control when gambling because winning and losing are part of gambling, not something that should make your feelings go haywire, the point is to gamble responsibly and wisely so you can control yourself well when gambling because it is very important to be able to control yourself when gambling. while gambling.

I think that both factors influence the formation of gambling addiction. It's like a roller coaster - gambling then rapidly takes you up (positive stimulation due to winning or a big win), and then just as rapidly falls down (negative stimulation in the form of a desire to win back and return what you lost). This swinging swing is what creates a gaming addiction. There is no point in trying to separate one from the other, because both of these moments (both winning and losing) have an equal impact on the formation of this addiction in a gambler.

It depends on the gambler, some addictions start when in the early stage of their gambling they start winning big amounts and start to think this is easy money so they bet more extend their gambling hours, and try to establish a method either coming from tips from steamers or so-called gambling gurus and some started their addiction because of their loneliness and they find gambling as a relief from their boredom and loneliness.

Every experience is different for every gambler there are a lot of ways gamblers become addicted, but the most common is trying to make money because it is easy money because they've seen it on other gamblers, and they think they can duplicate it but unfortunately, luck is something hard to duplicate.

Unfortunately, people are caught up in something that is uncertain and even though most people understand that gambling is a condition of luck in producing a win.

But I believe that the greatest dependence on gambling appears at the moment of loss, when the player admits in his head the idea that he could earn so much. He is disappointed, but wants to recoup. It is at this moment that the desire comes to play again and again in order to return to the previous state.

Initially they will be given some kind of winnings at the start so that it makes people more interested in further gambling. After that, they will experience defeat which results in or forms a mindset to recover the defeat in the next gambling game. That's how addiction builds ideas in the human subconscious when gambling and unfortunately it is difficult to control when gambling becomes an activity that is carried out excessively.

It's no better and it's best to stop if you're not already addicted, unless you can be responsible for the money you use in gambling because when control is no longer stable that's where people will become more addicted.

If you enter gambling out of desperation, it’s the same as simply throwing money into a burning fire. I will never go for such players. As for me, I bet on football matches to get a little fun and excitement in the game. It even brings a little joy, but not despair.

Professional players continue playing due to their time limitation strategy. The number of losses can't change their decision to gamble for 5 hours. It's actually the difference and they can decide to reduce wagered amount. Not to fall for a pitiful loss. Which failure, can remove the concept of time limitation, and render little time frame for the player to enjoy his game. Chasing losses with huge amount of money, to gain back immediately a favorable win. Dwindles the money meant to last a duration of 5 hours. So, when we refuse to be controlled by the number of losses. We still have better hands over the gambling platform. As the house are two to three steps ahead of the player. Maintaining low wager is a game changing idea. The shabby trick, players fail to understand, despite being overused, is that the casino tend to give winning results with the little wager. It remains their familiar method of convincing the player, he could win better if he staked huge amount. Old methods used by the house still perfectly works, is the cunning and funny aspect of gambling. Any player who begins to monitor these known recurring methods, will definite outshine the house. But, as they devise their usual strategy, players childishly fall for them. Due to lack of attention, greed and being carried away. Even their emotional being don't remind them of the next action to take. Thereby leading the player to wager high amount. Once, the player understands those tricks, he'll see the displayed win as a trap. A pretty nice psychological way of swallowing the players funds. Hence, the player should calculate and think twice before making any move. Falling for the magic behind win or lose, isn't a right choice for any gambler.

Your statement is very precise and I agree with it, basically we cannot measure the percentage of the two factors as you mentioned above about which factor is more likely to allow gamblers to enter the addiction phase, I will not separate the two points above because they are exactly the same if we look at the impact of whether it allows addiction or not, but certainly no one point can be considered better, because basically in gambling if you win then you will be addicted and if you lose then you will be curious.

That is why they gamblers are always greedy when they get a win and never feel enough with what they have managed to get, instead of getting a bigger win but what happens is unexpected, yes all their initial winnings are back up and there is no other feeling they feel except regret. And also when they lose, they will be curious and continue to re-deposit with the intention as you mentioned above, like struggling to catch up with defeat with the aim of chasing a break-even point that never ends. So in essence there is nothing better they can do except trying to apply a lot of restrictions or even stop, that's better.

That is exactly what happens when losses have caused frustration. Most times gambling losses for someone who is an addict and doesn't control himself throws in all, that is desperation to get what has been lost.

Desperation is not a good element for gambling, someone that is showing such sign will keep losing because he has lost control for proper analysis and to continue or to stop at the main time.
Someone who loses a lot in gambling will never be capable anymore to think what is right and wrong. His only concern is to focus on chasing his losses so he can recover those lost money, and when his goal is not reached, that's the time that this gambler will eventually burst out out from frustration and stress. He gets desperate of the outcome he has been trying fix but still fail in the process. The reason why overspending in gambling is not good anymore as it can totally destruct a well-being.

However, there are still number of gamblers who still manage theirselves and still gain control when they are in state of losing. Those are the professional gamblers that have gained already various experiences in gambling that made them more flexible and stronger in gambling.

That's what chasing of losses is.

Most gamblers do that because they are looking at the part that they can make more money and if they're successful with that, they forget to secure their profits and do more as they think that there's so much more to do.

After that, when they lose everything and can't do that much anymore. That's where they realize that they should have never touched their profits and should have been contented on that when they're still on a winning streak.

So in essence there is nothing better they can do except trying to apply a lot of restrictions or even stop, that's better.
Even so, because those restrictions will be forgotten later on.

I think this happens when you were close to winning but didn't achieve it, for example when the last outcome in a multi-bet ruins it. This is a purely biological mechanism that forces you to try more, since the times when people hunted, the brain has become accustomed to giving strength for the last push (if the prey is close) so that a person achieves success. But now this is a trap that depletes gambling addicts.

A budget is really necessary when you gamble, because if you don't have it and you just keep chasing your losses, your money will really run out in that situation. Chasing your losses is a bad thing, you can get into debt or become addicted to gambling if you don't have self control.

I have been in that situation, I want to recover the money that I lost and after I recover it, I will stop but the opposite happened. Because of this thinking, my money just ran out that day and I also bet my car just to get my money back. I really regretted it.

Gambling addiction is a condition that usually occurs not after a win but after a high loss or losing several times in a row on a regular basis. In particular, in the two cases I mentioned the gambler generally begins to gamble more with the ambition of regaining the money he/she lost and as the loss increases the level of addiction increases accordingly.

We can see that especially people who make large winnings rarely become addicted to gambling because many gamblers don't spend it on gambling again when they make a large profitable profit. Of course, in some cases people who earn high amounts of money continue to gamble, thinking that it is that easy to earn money and unfortunately they may become addicted to gambling.

In addition to these two situations, we can see that gambling addiction occurs in some people with the ambition to make money. A person starts gambling with the aim of making a lot of money easily and becomes addicted to gambling due to his/her greed for profit.

I think in gambling an individuals losses his emotions and its normal because it is not possible that once you gamble then you will not be able to forget your loss and also if you win fortunately then will think to gambler once more to increase this amount. I never saw a person who will say that this present amount of money is enough for him because desires are developing day by day and never ends.

One way of reduction of addiction is that people should not use that amount again for gambling which he win and also should not spend money more than your budget. Gambler but not having bad addiction will gamble but not all the time but he gamble for just few hours in a day and will not increase this time ever.

Yes, it has become a kind of routine that gamblers do every time they want to start gambling so it will only lead to loss of self-control. Every time they gamble, it will increase emotional impulses, but if they can control themselves, they will not be provoked to exceed their limits. However, many gamblers end up crossing their limits until they become addicted to gambling. Only with good self-control can gamblers avoid losing a lot.

A gambler who can control himself will smile to see that he can anticipate a lot of losses and can take good care of himself while he is gambling. Especially if he has had bad experiences before and really wants to learn good self-control so that he will not lose control of himself and can even enjoy gambling as usual. He also won't be tempted to use too much money in gambling because he knows it won't give him good results.

I think this kind of mistake is more likely in slot gamblers.

If attracted from these two views, in my opinion there is a common thread that we can conclude as the main context of the habit of losing control, which is greed, I think it's a more appropriate sentence for your two views and op, no matter the big or small victory Get, if basically has greedy properties it will crash into a stone that makes them lose what has been won.

But it should also be remembered that it happened to those who wanted a victory from the gambling they did or could be said the purpose of gambling from the beginning, but for those who seek pleasure in gambling I think winning and losing for them is not the main thing, and certainly not There is the term loss to those who have such principles in gambling, so there is no loss of money from the defeat that is pursued or seeking victory in gambling.

Yes, that's all true, many gambling addicts become that because they want to recover their initial losses, they don't realize that what they are doing has actually plunged them into bad behavior. In fact, not all gamblers are able to return their initial capital, they only do things in vain and many even incur large debts. However, trying hard to return gambling capital is a hard job, it is not that easy, it even tends to create traps which leads to gambling addiction.

When we get big profits, of course the money has no value because we will continue to play and want to make bigger profits. And I have felt this. Likewise, when we experience defeat we continue to chase or recover the losses we have so that what happens we cannot control which makes the losses even bigger, I have also experienced this. But now I have learned from experience and can control every game, both when I lose and when I win.

I think we have been in both positions as you describe, not being able to control when gambling or losing control and this is normal. However, for those who want to think and reflect, they will not want to be trapped twice in the same problem, because they have turned their mistakes into experience for the future.

On the time that you are in the verge n winning big then you would really be mainly thinking that winning is just easy, you do still have funds on your wallet which do came from in thin air.
Therefore, you would really be making yourself that confident and ends up on playing even further and trying out to seek for another win and this is a very typical scenario or situation.
You would really be able to lose control if you are a type of person whose really that not good when it comes to handling your emotion or having that disciplined mind.

You are really that prone to mistakes and errors just because you arent really minding about those probabilities or cases on which you would really be that trying out to achieve
even if its already not a viable or have those possibilities to happen. Losing up control is a no go in gambling field, you should really be that responsible as much as possible
specially with your finances because if you dont then expect huge losses.

        -  Since I have never been addicted to gambling, maybe I was almost led in the direction of becoming an addict because I felt the urge to continue playing when I experienced a series of wins, but the amount I was winning was only small.

That's why my desire to continue is increasing, and I feel the heat that it's really good to play gambling and make easy money only when you experience the feeling of being lucky on the day you play gambling. But when I noticed that it wasn't right, I realized that I shouldn't continue with that feeling.

This seems to be a common situation for gamblers who don't grasp the risks involved and refuse to acknowledge that losses are part of the game. It's an undying issue in the gambling world for many irresponsible gamblers spending more than their actual budget. Unfortunately, some even reach the point of blaming gambling for their misfortunes rather than reflecting on their own approach to it.

It's very funny when you go in playing for profits and after the loses inquired, the whole feeling of profits gets out of your head and the fight for your own funds start kicking and on that moment you are emotional destabilize and nothing you will ever try will work out for you. And if you don't know how to control yourself you could go all out and lose your whole bank role in just few seconds. The gambler is just eager to recover from his lost and forget the more he tries the deeper he gets involved.

Other things that can happen out of control can also happen when you want to try playing another game, which according to belief can achieve big wins and things out of control happen when we hope never happen, that's why it's important to be able to control yourself in gambling, to prevent things getting out of control.

After that, when they lose everything and can't do that much anymore. That's where they realize that they should have never touched their profits and should have been contented on that when they're still on a winning streak.

Greed will never end if you don't limit it yourself, yes that's right some gamblers are greedy because they are too serious in terms of seeing the chances of a bigger win, are you sure that the next time luck is still on your side? what makes you sure and will you not regret it if it all doesn't go your way in the end? I always ask these two questions to some of my friends when they want to act greedy, if they understand the real concept of gambling and still have a little awareness then they will obey my reasonable words, and if they are still very hard with the wrong mindset then honestly I will not force them and I will just let it go, but do you know what happened at the end of the session? yes I saw him very upset and emotional to the point of shouting to let out his frustration because instead of getting a bigger win but the opposite happened, everything was gone, and do you know what they said in that condition? they said "if only I had withdrawn at the beginning maybe this wouldn't have happened", haha I just laughed at it. The question is do you want to have the same fate as my friend? go ahead.

So in essence there is nothing better they can do except trying to apply a lot of restrictions or even stop, that's better.
Even so, because those restrictions will be forgotten later on.

Although boundaries and self-control are very important for a gambler, and even if they have prepared for it, sometimes it won't always be able to close the possibility of a bad ending, that's because the excitement and thrill of gambling is very likely to make you forget all the boundaries you have prepared beforehand. They need to be very assertive in every session, and also if possible if you are accompanying your friend who is gambling then I hope you can help them realize when they want to act out of control or do something that they cannot be held accountable for. Therefore, it is quite difficult to be able to apply limits when you are dominated by lust, as I said earlier, there is nothing better than you try to stop or just reduce it.

I agree with you - it's very easy to lose control. I remember myself playing before - I launched slots and the standard bet there was 2 bollars per spin. I played the slots five times and lost $10. And then I took the bet on the spin to 5 dollars to win back. Then I lost money again - about $30 in total. Then I raised the bid to 10. In a word, in minutes I was losing control at a tremendous speed. And I wanted more and more.

This is a common problem, I have same experienced too. IMO, Because our initial mindset is not to play for fun, but to try our luck to get more money. So when we are getting loss, in the end we will start not to accept that, because we feel that the initial intention of playing was to win, not to lose. So when we are loss, we will trying to add some of deposit and bet with bigger bets with the aim of winning more. this can be happens because, for some people, it is very difficult to gamble just for fun. That's why many people lose control when playing slots.

Losing control will be much worse in gambling because we can no longer control the gambling, it feels strange if you increase your bet in a losing position because usually people will increase their bet when they see the potential for winning in the previous round. I played slots before, but rarely played in bigger rounds because usually I would start from a small table first and if there was potential for winning, I would increase the bet slowly. This method is believed to have more potential to survive the slot rounds and not experience rapid losses caused by the account balance running out.

I also experienced the same thing and when I started increasing the bets bigger it would eventually end in a total loss that I couldn't sustain. Therefore, it is important to control gambling and if in the previous round we win, it is better to stop for a moment and take advantage of the win and this is always practiced by my friends me when they gamble.

That's why they say that ludoman is primarily characterized by the fact that he has to pay for relatives who are ready to endlessly pay loans and credits for him. But what is money for a ludoman? They have no meaning for him, they are just candy wrappers.
But I would like to note that any ludomaniac is curable if he knows how to empathize or who experiences shame or reflection.
I can't imagine how the relatives would react if they had to pay endless loans and credits to the gambler because that means he has to be able to prepare a sum of money, which might become larger if the gambler is determined to borrow large amounts of money. Gamblers can be cured, even those who have a serious gambling addiction can also be cured, but it certainly won't be easy because they definitely don't want to admit that they are addicted to gambling. They will definitely avoid it, will continue gambling, and will experience losses that they cannot imagine. Gamblers who lose control will not be able to think clearly because all they can think about is gambling and having more money to gamble with. They may not want to think about where their money comes from.

There is an opinion that the greatest dependence on gambling is formed at the moment of a big win. The player understands that money can be earned LIKE THIS. This is a fairly common opinion.
This is the truth because if you interview many gamblers, you will realised that they got into gambling as a result of a huge win from them or from someone else. It is this winning that gives them the motivation to enter into gambling and continue in it. Hope is an important ingredient in any business and that is exactly what winnings or testimony of it gives.

But I believe that the greatest dependence on gambling appears at the moment of loss, when the player admits in his head the idea that he could earn so much. He is disappointed, but wants to recoup. It is at this moment that the desire comes to play again and again in order to return to the previous state.

What do you think about it?
I don't think I agree with you completely. Losses only embolden gambling addicts who will decide to chase losses which will end up doing more damages. For the new gamblers and normal players, losses create some kind of fear that discourages them from taking further risk.

Revenge gambling can be dangerous most at times because when you gamble and you notice that you don't win and have lost huge amount maybe one finds himself into lose he has no option that to keep trying at this point of trying, he even endangering himself the more because he wanna recover some money. Here is where to know a responsible gambler because he don't quite at that point he noticed shortage of funds or out of funds he doesn't need to prove himself to at least streak a winning.

winning or losing can be an incentive to lose control but it all depends on the mindset of each gambler.

At least don't lose control when gambling because winning and losing are part of gambling, not something that should make your feelings go haywire, the point is to gamble responsibly and wisely so you can control yourself well when gambling because it is very important to be able to control yourself when gambling. while gambling.
well, more precisely the purpose of gambling.
I mean if a gambler has a goal of just trying their luck with a small amount, they certainly won't lose control because they will simply consider losing or losing as normal and those who gamble with the aim of just trying their luck are usually more responsible and know when to right.
there are lots of gamblers who lose control and it has been explained several people here that they even lose control more often when losses come in succession which makes their emotions higher and encourages a gambler to chase these losses.

key to not losing control really depends on how a gambler handles this bad thing.

Not only is it dangerous but if you gamble with the intention of revenge it is the same as you digging a hole to bury yourself, do you want to beat the house? what is the strong reason you do that? while on the other hand everything that goes on in gambling is regulated by the casino itself, if you want to go against the provisions that have been designed by the casino then it is the same as you want to commit suicide or deepen your slump. I understand you are very upset with the results that are always not in accordance with what you want, but on the other hand do you not realize that this is gambling?

Therefore correct your mindset, I think it is a natural downturn that you experience because you come with intentions and goals that should not be, you come to make money while gambling is intended to seek pleasure or entertainment, why? because this is a business for casinos and the name of the business means there is a profit that the casino is after, simply put is if you lose then it is a profit for the casino and the casino always wants the gamblers to lose. Therefore it is obvious that the more you gamble, the more losses you will get, in fact the occasional win you get is just to make you addicted, that's how smart casinos are.

I think both are true. A gambler may choose to gamble depending on big wins while many gamblers gamble to recoup their losses. There are some people who win in gambling they bet more to get more so naturally this is what attracts a gambler more. But I rely on my gambling mainly for my losses which you mentioned. I lost a large amount in gambling so I realized that if I want to earn that money in any other way then I need a lot of time but if I earn through gambling it can be very easy but of course it needs luck to win. The more one loses in gambling, he will try to depend on it. It is not possible for everyone to walk away with huge losses as long as he is able to continue his gambling.

It is not surprising that many people "blame gambling" when they get a defeat and assume that the gambling site behaves fraudulently and does not apply fairly to its visitors. And often they say it spontaneously, because they have lost too often.

But what makes me unable to think, even though they often get defeated and always mock gambling, but the next day they deposit again to play gambling and even they prefer to play than breakfast. And they never think and learn how to control their emotions in playing gambling, and never think about how to anticipate so that this gambling activity does not become something too detrimental.
Because in essence, if you are unable to make this gambling activity a profitable activity, then you must try to turn this gambling into something that is not too detrimental but very enjoyable.

Exactly mate
We gamble to ease oneself from stressed and feeled entertainment while other gambling for profits but at the cost of making profits we often sees it as a way of becoming Rich overnight, the thing is we should always mind how much we spend probably sets a limits we can go for the day/week and months as we know to reduce our lose our even not leading to request for additional funds or seeking for crowdfunding from people who doesn't know how his relationship is about gambling. When greed is eliminated from gambling you also noticed a reduction and limitations of loses, this is a major propeller of losing funds while gambling.

Seriously, I can say either a win or a loss can make a gambler lose control. Just as you said, winning in gambling can make a gambler believe that there is money in gambling and they can earn a living from gambling, so if they lose, the first win they had won't make them give up, they will have confidence in gambling to win if they don't stop gambling. And the same thing is applicable when you lose in gambling, you won't want to give up because, immediately after you stop gambling, all the money you have lost is gone. And most gamblers will want to win back all their losses, so they won't want to stop gambling.

Desperation is not a good element for gambling
When you are desperate to make money, you are setting traps for yourself. You will find it difficult to make proper analysis when gambling. There are things that, if you have taken your time, you will have gotten right, but because you are desperate to make money, you won't settle down. In everything you are doing, even if it's not gambling, if you are too desperate, you might end up getting everything wrong.

It's about the mindset of the gambler. Someone who starts gambling with the hope of earning money through it will continue whether they win or lose because when they win, they want to win even more. After all, that's what they are gambling for, right? They want to earn money from it and they will not stop just because they earned some but the first few wins will make them gamble even more since they now see that they can truly earn money through it.

And when a gambler loses, they can't stop because they have lost a part of their bankroll, the bankroll that they are supposed to be used to earn money and they obviously can't afford to lose it because if they lose it, they won't be able to earn money anymore and that's what makes them gamble more and chase their losses.

Both are true, when they loses and when they win, both carry moments that can make them to lose control.

When winning, the feeling of greed always looms. They believe to their luck for this full day will continue, becoming confident that they can take all the money in the casino. It's a bit crazy, but luck is never known for its limits. That's what makes gamblers, when winning, always want more and more. Greedy is bad.

If a gambler is losing, they might think that the next round is chance to make money to recover the losses. Yes, they feel that they shouldn't lose to such a simple game. However, in reality, they lose control and the winnings don't come quickly.

When they reach the extremes in both sides of the spectrum. A gambler loses control when they win just as much as when they lose. Ever wonder why people keep on betting even after bagging a massive win? That's cause they lose sight of the reality of things and how improbable in the first place winning was, and they feel invincible. From there they'd make bets in order to emulate the same event, and then this snowballs into something major, like a lose streak that would drive them to bet even more in hopes of winning back whatever they lost.

It's just like that. You need to learn how to control yourself when you win, just as much as when you lose.

It's like dejavu, it's an addiction but alot of people don't understand this and they keep going even when it's not convenient for them because they believe they can win but most times it's doesn't work out the way they think, and thats why you have to think Smart. Whenever it's not coming forth you need to take a break hence you regret you actions, have seen it before.

Yeahh... Exactly! Some peeps be like - when i make a certain amount, I'll back off... That's not entirely true. The interest grows speedily when the first win clicks on the bait effortlessly..

That's definitely the problem.. the more you try to make up things to its previous state, the more you'd lose... It's wise to have a limit - not withstanding if you're on profit or loss... Eitherways, you'll end up losing the more.

Many gamblers are engrossed in gambling. They think of gambling all the time, even when they cant be at gambling. They keep gambling even when they're losing money, to keep trying to win back what they have lost. and then they borrow money from friends or family, or they are taking out loans, in order to gamble, and all that time. This is because they are feeling disappointed and frustrated

They are lying about their situation to friends, family, or employers about how much they are gambling, because they dont to feel stupid for losing money that easy in bad way. They are neglecting their responsibilities. Gambling addiction turn most of things in to bad situation. Those are very bad problem.

What do you think about it?

The problem can come from any of the aforementioned reasons, but what drives it all is greed. If someone is not lucky enough to win a game but they lose the game based on just a little mistake, or if out of 10 games they were able to win 8 and lose 2 or their game was just close to winning but they lost it, this alone can make someone who doesn't have self-control to continue trying until they can be able to win, but instead of winning, they can continue losing, and by chasing that win, they can lose control and don't know when they will lose it all.

Another one is driven by greed. When you win a million dollars from gambling today with a small wager amount, with the high confidence developed in you, and you start having so much greed to earn more, you can start doubling your wager amount, which will result in you losing more and more, and since you have increased the amount you wager, the amount you lose at a time will also increase. Greed is one thing I know drives people into losing their self-control over gambling, and they get addicted as a result of that.
