Been in this crypto game over 2 years now and I am 100% in altcoins currently and patiently waiting for alt season.

My portfolio is currently +80% overall after this mini crash we have seen in the last few days and I had hoped to have seen more of a return by now.

I have seen some say there will not be an alt season this bull run, some say it wont be till next year and some say it usually comes around 3 months after the Bitcoin halving which would put it around August.

I am hoping we only have a few more months to wait now as my patience is being tested, how is everyone else feeling?

I think there will be an altcoin season but what you have to check is the movement of bitcoin. Historically, altcoins' prices surge when bitcoin falls even if it is in a bull run. My theory is that after bitcoin breaks the $73k usd and then it dips that will be the time where we will see altcoins surge.

That is just someone's opinion - would be good to get the overall feel of everyone else too who are also holding altcoins.

I knew 2024 would be a good year overall but didn't realize it wouldn't be really good until the end of the year and its just tiring some weeks waiting for something that feels like is never coming.

This can be anytime from now or that we have already started the process without many knowing, this is the continuation to the bull season and its also expected that we have the altcoins season around this time or before the close of the year, with this post halving experience, most of the altcoins are going to also show what they have got by rising and many hitting their new all time high, we should only keep to the speculations in anticipation for their massive turnaround, then we can see that we are in deed close or in their season.

For experience investors who have over the year witnessed the many activities in the price of both altcoins and bitcoin, we can say for sure that we are already in the bull season both for altcoins and bitcoin, and regardless of what the recent market realities could be,it doesn't make any difference because for bitcoin who is the mainstream bull propeller to have discounted back and front on multiple occasions only shows the volatility of the market the market outcome is a chance for those that have spare cash to jump on the moving train, many altcoins gave alot of discount which allow new investors to get on board.

Let not see this as strange occurrence but as a means for market growth and adequate onbording of new bag holders, so we are both in bull trends and also correction mode, and since this is reality only the smartest investors can make profits along the market actions.

What do you mean by 100%? Do you not invest in bitcoin, only altcoins?
To be perfectly honest, I do not really believe in altseason as there is too much projects in the altcoins section. Even if a lot of them are doing well and have prices going up, not each and every altcoin will be successful. So your altseason depends on the coins you are holding. I reckon that not all altcoins will do well all at the same time. PEPE coin has already given its investors some profit earlier than most altcoins.
Even if there really is a collective rise in altcoins, August is too soon. It might be observed almost at the end of the year or next year.

Seriously, What kind of alt season you are still looking for while your current holdings is already at 80% gain despite the mini crash?

Altcoin marketcap is still on insanely high which is equivalent to the bull run marketcap. I think the upside growth potential is smaller compared to the possibility of market crash. So I believe you be looking for market crash rather than altcoin season since we are srill on altcoin season since the price is still on the bullrun price.

We can draw out some patterns basing on how trends would really be happening in order, the only main question on here is that if it would be happening on the current cycle?
We do know that Bitcoin would really be always the main trend setter on which no matter how these things would be making up their own bullish runs but still it would really be just basing up on how
Bitcoin is really that performing or behaving in the market. It cant really just that make those movements basing up on the current condition of Bitcoins price.

Altcoin season is never been that being removed or something that cant happen specially on the time or moment that Bitcoin would really be having that switch of dominance or simply
on the moment or time that it is really that making some sideways movement or on consolidation period. Altcoin and meme coin season would really be starting up.
This is why there would really be people who would really be tending to place up themselves as early as they could.

People usually don't prefer Altcoins for long term investment except few but I would say you would need little more patience and don't listen to any tom, dick and harry that there wouldn't be any Altcoins bull run because whenever Bitcoin bull run starts and price of Bitcoin becomes bit stable that's when Altcoins bull run starts and we may have to wait some more time if it's not happening now.

A big chunk of my +80% portfolio is down to one altcoin doing over a 30x return for me, without it my overall profit would be a lot lower.

Altcoins in the top 50 or so are nowhere near their all time high and I am looking for them to get back there sometime this year that is when I will be happy, when my portfolio is +1000% or more.

Yeah, bitcoin needs to go up first, we should be considering how to do that with better understanding, it is not a simple thing to do so that means that we are going to see something that will not be all too simple. First bitcoin needs to go up, and if it can peak then we can see altcoins start to go up as well.

I believe that end of this year, start of next year, I have believed this for a long time, I have believed this for years now, even on2022 when we were going down, I still kept on buying, I have been buying from 40k to 15k, and kept on buying from 15k to 70k as  well, never stopped, and I believed all during that period that it will go up a lot more during end of this year, and aimed at that goal, hopefully it is getting very close.

Weather altcoin season or not it is certain that not all the altcoin will keep rising because even most of the seasons  people claim to be altcoin season, not all the altcoin was able to rise, so even if these season will be a bull season all the altcoin may not really follow the trend, so I think the question will be that what kind of altcoin are you holding because not all the altcoin have the potential to rise, so to expect any good move when the time comes is only if you have the one that has good quality.

No one will know when it is but certainly for now the altcoin season depends on bitcoin too in the end so that when the development of bitcoin continues to occur and bitcoin experiences a significant increase, altcoins will indeed flourish and this will certainly still be able to happen.

Now actually we just have to wait for it to arrive, although until now I am still not in any altcoin because I am still trying overall for bitcoin but with the experience in the previous halving we must certainly know that when bitcoin gets a good momentum then altcoin will also follow and I still believe in it even though I will not be in altcoin because I expect bitcoin only until now.

If indeed you want to be in altcoin then preparing from now on I think is not a mistake it's just that we need to see carefully which ones we need to have and which ones we need to get rid of from the portopolio we have now.

You are in the middle of an altseason that started while back by recovery of sol, avax and some others. I a not sure how you define altcoin season, but to me it starts after bottom is in. And bottom of alts have been in for like 1,5 years now. Some people think that fomo of the last moments before the then next crash and 2 year bear is the altseason. I don't get if those people acually believe that, or if they are trying to get others to believe that.

I am not sure why is it important anyway, we are not in the end of it yet, and going up with some bounces included.

We’ve talked about this many times already and as usual, no one can give the exact date for this as we can only do speculate and that’s not guaranteed after all. We know how risky the market is and its very volatile, the next altcoin season will always depend on the trend of Bitcoin so let’s hope for the best with Bitcoin because altcoins will follow that, and that could be the start of altcoin season.

It's the latter and that's what the majority thinks anyway. That the altcoin season is likely to come by next year and that's when Bitcoin is just done with its peak.

I'm unbothered, moisturized, happy in my lane. focused, and flourishing. I had a few longs that I had to close last night and today they're up in my intended direction. Like you, I know for a fact that there's still going to be an alt run but I'm not sure when it's going to be. I'll soon start accumulating several tokens on every dip because I do feel like we're due for a run now that BTC has been seemingly stable around sub 70K levels.

What alts are in Y'all portfolio? Op inclusive because I'd like to know.

     In my personal assessment, op, we are not yet in the altcoin season because most of the altcoins are not performing well in the market; maybe recently they performed well when bitcoin started to rally in the market.

     But right now, if you look at Bitcoin's price movement, it seems to be calm, and the other altcoins are also like nothing, so the only thing we can do at the moment
is to collect our favorite ones for a bull run.

In my honest opinion, the bull market is going to be massive. I'm expecting that to happen next year or late this year. So, the alt seasons will be great, and we might witness the unexpected.

Bitcoin is getting stronger while great projects with good use cases are also emerging. I expect a very big bull market.

I think, there will be an altcoins season before the end of this year OP, because there are some altcoins that never increase this year which there are some signs that they will going to increase higher in the next altcoin season which you can use that opportunity to trade your altcoins to achieve passive income. I believe, you know that market price can change something in the market, because it can demonstrate positively at the end of the year to allow holders to make a good income, and it can also demonstrate negatively at the end of the year to make holders to continue holding their altcoins, which are some of the things you will be experiencing from the market. Not only you but many are opining that a big bull season is going to start at the end of the year or early next year. For the upcoming bull season, many may have chosen to invest in which coins and how much. But there are still many who are preparing to recruit, and if the bull season really starts at the time we mentioned then I think the top 10 alt coins are worth investing in. There could be many more coins here, Why I mentioned top altcoins is because the price of bitcoin is on the rise. Most of the top coins are following the price of bitcoin and maybe they will increase.

Altcoin season is always next to bitcoin bull run sooner or later the coin will rise and many investors earn in buying and holding coins, from the past till present i never experienced bull run without altcoin season so i believe that altcoins season is not far from this months because bitcoin is rising.

The last Bitcoin halving before this year was 11th May 2020 and looking at the chart it looks like the first real pump of that bull run did not start until 5 months later in October.

Can we expect same again this bull run too? That would mean we will not start pumping until September if so.

Well the halving happened April of this year so we can expect some real growth to happen during September but note that it is not all consistent like this. There may be some differences from this halving to the previous ones due to many factors like for example etf approvals.

if there are good news about etf then we might see altcoins pumping more earlier than expected

I am following a lot of traders on Twitter, the truth is no one knows what exactly will happen. People just speculate things out of thin air just to increase the number of followers. Its always good stick to the basics and understand that there will be a post halving pump and an alt season as crypto market has done that before. its just stupid trying to time the market. No one knows what will happen except the market makers or lets say the Illuminati members ;)

The crypto market tends to go up and down between ups and downs so when will the altcoin season be a huge market changer that many don't know. But we expect that the altcoin season could be when the bull run sees the coins rise in price. Altcoins are trending higher with the price of bitcoin rising and everyone is hoping for an altcoin season.

for several reasons altcoins will increase higher this year because the cryptocurrency season provides many opportunities to choose the right crypto assets, and which ones will decline or stagnate so being able to determine asset trends this cycle can help determine which to buy and sell, in bitcoin season or altcoin prices in general will be at a stable or decreasing level. I think people who are curious about this alt season are mostly traders, cause people who are into investment that is buying and holding are short and long term investors and some short term investor are like traders however, I don't think one should disturb his/herself when alt season will be and ever since I started investment I don't think there's a particular season for alt cause some alt depends on Bitcoin and even if there's something like alt season, it will still not be easy to identify and invest in a good alt cause not all alt are been affected.

There will be an alt season but it is not known that when this season will come but most of the people have filled their bags with profitable altcoins so I will suggest that don't focus more on new coins because they are only profitable if buy and sell without further delay for more profit gaining.

We will have to wait for the alt season because all the events and its effects are not possible to see immediately on a fixed day. Like halving has not shown any effects yet so be calm and first wait for Bitcoin to reach its new ATH after which we will see an alt season.

Looking at the chart from 2020 when we had the last bitcoin halving in May , it took 5 months for the alts to really start pumping so i have got it in my head now that it might not come until September.

If that is the case then so be it, 3 more months to wait is not long for great gains but if it comes before in the next month or two then even better.

Mus altcoin will be coming soon after bitcoin reaches its peak this year, yes of course we have to watch bitcoin's movements frequently all the time so as not to be fooled by a market that is dumping. You can try and buy a new coin and wait until altcoin season to see it grow. That would be exactly what we want to happen but you should bear in mind the risks that this coin might not even grow during an altcoin season.

That’s great for your portfolio. At some point I thought we’ve finally come to see it but there’s still time this year for me. But let’s not make it compulsory that it has to be soon. Even if we don’t see altcoins go as high as we wish, we should know that we would see them soar and break their ATH at come point. Just invest and hodl for as long as you can, the season will come.

Everything in the market keeps ranging unless new coins that are just entering the market.
I think we can always take the opportunity to trader less since the price we are thinking would go up might finally goes down.
We should be open minded in every decisions we are taking in the crypto market and there is no need to be stiff, we need to be easily going and make every decision according to the manner the price is going. There is no need to be emotional here.

Certain that we are not yet there but it will come soon. Bitcoin is not even yet done with its dominance or should I say it haven't started yet. Bitcoin is still struggling to pass across $72k to $74k. As we all know Altcoin season occurs after Bitcoin dominance, if I cited it correctly. This is the best indicator if you are after this event in this industry. If I would be trying to make a guess, it is most likely to happen before this year ends. Confusion on this is because of halving. Many people believes that uptrend will suddenly happen right after the event. Same goes with Altcoin season related events. But with previous halving, it took months or even a year before we saw high market price increase rates. Given that nothing guarantees, the options we have now is to wait and accumulate while prices are still on a bargain.

I think that I've seen a few of them that have reached a new ATH just for this quarter of the month. What I am scared about is what if we're already in it and then the cycle has changed and by next year, it's not going to be a bull run.

Everything can be possible to happen at this moment but I'd preferred still to follow the cycle and the altcoin season typically comes after the dominance of BTC goes onto high and then decreases over the period of time and that's how the altcoin's comes next.

It depends on how you see it. There's a chance that the alt coin season is happening already and we are inside a bull market right now but my personal opinion is we are still on the cycle on achieving the bull market so I guess there's still a chance of making profit. There are many altcoin who achieve their all time high, most of them are new coins but there still some coins from the past bull market who achieve to get over their past bull market all time high.

We have different views on the current market right now but for me, I still plan to hold my altcoins until I am satisfied with it.

probably the closest trigger to the upcoming altcoin season will be once ETH ETF begins trading probably in july 2nd, so I guess that date in itself is worth nothing if you truly waiting for altcoins season but arguably it might be the EVM related tokens that are pumping though.
there's just no certainty whether altcoin season will have its own "season" again in the future as far as I know most of the altcoin has been going up though some of them didn't even hit all time high but we can already say that its some kind of altcoin season.

probably gonna come earlier, ETH ETF just around the corner when it begins trading things will change, there might be surge, but if we are saying that altcoin gonna starts picking up its price in the next few months the probablity is high based on past chart data and upcoming events.

Most traders rely on BTC dominance and if they see a weak indicator that the BTC is not going up then I think that is when the altcoin season comes. It's really hard to determine when to buy and sell an altcoin but the good strategy is to always have executed a stop-loss.

BNB passed its former ATH and there are some others that I've seen and you're right about most of these altcoins are the newer ones.

But it's safe to say that they've met their ATH because they've been new to the market and there's no past basis yet on how much they have been to say that they're in all-time high, so it's pretty much our assumption that they actually did since there's no comparison yet.

And I agree that this might still going to take longer than expected, there's nothing that much achieved entirely for the market yet.

There is no better investment than Bitcoin when we consider holding. However, for those who want to multiply their wealth by investing in altcoins, these can be very profitable. Many of us know that altcoins can give profit as well as there is a high chance of losing if you invest in these coins. We have yet to see an altcoin bull run after the recent halving. We can expect to see an alt session bull run soon. But there is no certainty. A bull run can start at any time. I am not specifically going to talk about alt season cause it varies but in general when we talk bull season it's more relevant when we take BTC for the reference cause most of the time altcoin follow the same path of BTC. So based on that BTC peak of this current run can be expected in the 3rd quarter of 2025 and it can be vaired due to lot of factors but based on historical charts that's the time we can expect.

Nobody knows, but I'm sure it will start only after most of the users sell their alt coins. Then we will go up, so they will buy back their assets on FOMO much higher!

You should have just left some of your money in bitcoin, I don’t really encourage leaving so much money in altcoins, your main investment should be in bitcoin, then leave some money in altcoins. Since you have been holding for two years, then all you should do is keep on holding. Seriously bitcoin price movement is what’s going to determine when we should be expecting altcoins bull run, so if bitcoin bull run can start, then we should expect altcoins bull run also, but if bitcoin is dumping, then we should know altcoins can’t be pumping.

I don’t know which ones have hit ATH but I don’t see top altcoins hitting ATH. I like to grade and judge altcoins based on the top ones. If they haven’t really moved, then I can’t say there’s really been any changes in altcoins in general. And while you choose to hold on to cycles, you should have it in your mind that cycles can be broken so like I said, just invest what you can afford to lose. Anything can happen at anytime.

Crypto market is almost impossible to predict. Most of the times we think one way but another. So it is difficult to say when the next altcoin season will come. But we are all waiting for altcoin season. The pump ratio of altcoins with Bitcoin is low this time. But I think altcoin season will come later this year. So we should hold our altcoins with patience.

Altcoins season is more comfortable and favorable for those investors that sticks to Altcoins projects and they've high hope on them. We have alternatives in the market and choosing what's best for us should be our priority. On the trends, Bitcoin halving is been triggered, and we understand how the market operates and do our best to enter in and out within good range of time.

What is certain in this case is that the altcoin season will occur but when talking about time then no one will be able to say for sure when the altcoin season occurs because after all it is difficult to say for sure because everything is only based on speculation. I still believe that after summer is a great period, Q4 is usually a great time to make it work and I believe that we are going to see a good increase without a doubt. That doesn't mean that we are going to profit a ton, of course we are not going to end up with a ton of money, it just means that we are not going to get anything bad about it.

We should consider holding a bit more, because if we keep holding a bit more then we are going to end up with a good result, but if we sell right now then we are going to regret it when we see it going up a few months later. Summers are always tough, so do not expect summer to be any good, it may look good with a surprise, but I wouldn't expect it to happen, I would just welcome it if it happens.

Predicting the crypto market is difficult because no one can ever say exactly what the situation will be like in the crypto market. But those who are more experienced in the crypto market can at least predict what will happen. But if we can hold on to altcoin at this time, then it will be well into the next year.  There will be some profit potential.

IMO, you should also have a specific plan for situations that arise but I think the key is the patience you have for the altcoins you trust.

Lately I've seen a lot of altcoins going back to the times when bitcoin was at $45k and of course I also see the opportunity, but we have different ways of thinking about approaching the market so we can only encourage listing believe in patience. There may be rumors on many social media platforms about altcoin seasons, but anyway, you should be proactive with your own decisions and not just depend on the news.

5 weeks since I started this thread and my portfolio was +80% at the time.

It went all the way down to +13% few weeks ago but we have had a recovery lately and i am +40% right now.

Hopefully we only have another 6 weeks or so of this down and sideways action before Bitcoin and altcoins start going up again like we saw in March.

How is everyone feeling?

Me myself, I always judge if I need to look after some alt for my portfolio by seeing the rainbow chart of the BTC. If it's going up to the skies, I strive to search for some gems or the altcoins and shitcoins that've been around for a while (PEPE, DOGE, etc.). Then I watch for the coins themselves and the BTC, as it's not like scalping or a one day or week affair, it can take quite a lot of time actually before there will be any results. Patience is key, and, as always, you need to DYOR.

Less than a week to go now until we are in August. I am just counting down the days and weeks now really till we start pumping again.

I think August will be up, down & sideways and then hopefully once September is here we will be up on our way again towards new highs and hopefully start of alt season.

I stopped taking notice of the daily market months ago as you just never know what is going to happen every day and when something does happen it doesn't take long for the opposite to  happen again.

This means that you were only prepared for. The alt season to arrive as you prove them yourself have been in the crypto games over 2 years ago, I don’t think will have any issues with the market strategies. Because from your statement it has show you have already have much knowledge and experience about the cryptocurrencies aspects.
Those that are saying that they will not any alt season is just that they have not prepared or they didn’t have financial that they will use to grow it up, but for always expect the bull run because I know this is his season and it can definitely comes around so we should be anticipating altcoins halving at any moments.

in reality people can only speculate about this. Based on previous experience, altcoin season occurs 1 year after bitcoin halving. However, it may happen sooner or maybe longer than before. What we need to do now is, fill our bags with popular altcoins that we believe will go higher when altcoin season arrives. However, personally, I believe that it will happen soon.

Since Bitcoin season happened early this year to give investors opportunity to earn income from the bullish season, I think altcoins season will happen before the end of this year because there are some signs that is giving altcoins investors hope that it will going to be bullish soon to allow altcoins investors to embrace income from their investment. Altcoins have a good time when Bitcoin's bull season ends and the market destabilizes. None of the predictions are false because no one is sure about what is being said is just a prediction. However, the crypto market is highly speculative. What investors predict may be reflected today or tomorrow. Though not all predictions are correct. We got ETF approval this year along with bitcoin halving which has been able to boost the market investment to a great extent. Along with Bitcoin, Ether has managed to make a new positive impact on the ETF market. Although the altcoin bull market has not yet started, we can be confident that it will reach that stage in the next few days. Especially when Bitcoin reaches 100k, the bullish effect of altcoins will continue to increase. We will be able to see a bullish sentiment in altcoins within next year.

I was having it in mind 2 years before now that by this time of the year, my altcoins woufl have made me to be a millionaire and I have been proven otherwise. There is nothing like certainty in this crypto market and one have to reduce his or her expectations but I understand OP frustration, the previous bull run follow the same pattern but this year is quite different and that was because of what happen in 2021, so much losses everywhere and now everyone is no smart about their investment, no one want to used by some groups because of profits.

There is no hope lost, Bitcoin seems to be making moves recently and whole knows if 100k is around the corner, if we have Bitcoin stablize above 100k, altcoins are going to have insane run and everyone will be happy again like the usual altcoins season but don't forget to take profit, that's the most important part of holding altcoin bag.

Alt season will be the same way it has always been, I don’t know why you should be in altcoin 100%, don’t you just think the risk is too high? It’s just better you leave higher percentage of your coin in bitcoin, then you can leave the rest in altcoin investments. I have confidence in bitcoin more than any other coin, and we will see bitcoin bull run, before altcoins will start following it. So I will recommend you have some bitcoin in your wallet, don’t depend on altcoins completely, because you might end up being disappointed, they might not meet your expectations.

considering that bitcoin price chart has been quite different compared to previous bullrun, i think things will be different.

there's a big chance that altcoin will be independent of the past cyclical chart and make a new pattern since as it seems bitcoin dominance keep increasing more and more while most of the altcoin remains stuck with current price.
but since altcoin that are good already increasing by thousands of percent within this bullrun cycle anyway, I think altcoin already got the altcoin season that it really sought after.

Diversification is key, and you know it! Appreciate your advice given to anybody willing to follow it, as I agree with you. Having a portfolio consisting of only alts or just one coin (even BTC, for example), won't bring as much as a diversified portfolio, in my opinion.

Time has passed and things are changing in the crypto world, for this, I advise you not to expect anything as usual. I was one of those who were expecting the altcoin seasons but with my deeper thoughts, I discovered that some altcoins continue to behave similarly to that of the altcoin season since 2023 in their own huge and little way (manipulation or not).

This might mean that the system has changed and can't be as general as many expect due to some liquidity issues in the crypto market. It's not that the market is not gaining liquidity but crypto projects are too many now for liquidity to cover many of them in such a way that they will behave like before.

By the way, who is going to bring in the huge liquidity that will make many altcoins move 10, 20, or 30 times their current price as before? We should be realistic with the current market events.

I agree it gets harder each bull run to see these big returns for altcoins due to there now being so many but the big gains are still there.

I have seen a 30x already in one of my altcoins in the last 12 months and that is well before the peak of the bull run that is coming in the next 6-12 months.

I do think that I will lower my expectation though, I was hoping to get a 15-20x return overall on my portfolio but now think I will be happy with 7-10x.

No one can predict the exact future of altcoins but you have to wait at least this year to see pump in altcoins.

Usually Altseason is when BTCD is already below 50%, that's where the distribution of money circulation for alt coins, but currently it is still dominated by Bitcoin which has a dominance of 55.22% so it will be very difficult to predict Altseason, most likely if the tension is like this continuously it will be very difficult to have an altseason.

But I'm pretty sure there will be an Altseason in the current bitcoin cycle, which might happen in Q4 this year and 2025, the market will experience significant growth, especially if Trump is elected and he really supports the crypto industry in the US, most likely Altseason will get crazy funding from many investors.

Alt season will come probably when bitcoin starts rising during bull run or may even take longer but then i am also surprised how some people get so comfortable investing in alts when they are aware these alts are driven by Bitcoin itself so why not invest in bitcoin to avoid the risk. Alt coins volatility are very high compared to bitcoin so the risk involved in it is very high so why do people choose to take the higher risk and invest 100% in alts when bitcoin offers lesser risk and is even more reliable. At worst they can divert some of their funds into bitcoin and have try out the two if they must invest in altcoins.

Well, everyone has their choice and preference so a person can choose to do what they want with their money but all we can do is advice them and show them the right way and hope they heed to our advice.

You are right, no one can predict the future of any coin, and I won’t be saying pump will happen this year, so no one should just be too confident that their altcoins will pump this year. Anything can happen at any moment, the bull run that we have been expecting might not even happen this year, so the best thing is that any coin that you are holding should be for the long term. Since no one knows when the bull run will start,  the best thing is to keep on accumulating or just hold the one that you are holding.

I think what people refer to altcoin season is during the uptrend of Bitcoin which is the bullish season, altcoin price does not rise on their own without the help of Bitcoin, Bitcoin is the major reason for the appreciation in the price of altcoins, the thing is that Bitcoin price shift is coordinated and a bit slow because of the future potentiality of the coin but altcoins pump is bit higher during bullrun because of their inability to maintain their market value independently and the uncertain future thats is accompanied with them, I think it is almost impossible for one to know the actual altcoin that has a good future that's why majority of digital currency investors are hodling bitcoin with altcoin as an alternative, for me I believe that altcoin season will come as Bitcoin continue going bullish.

You won't get an overall feel from one thread. And if you ask from someone who has been around for few altcoin seasons, current altcoin season has started like 9 months ago and you are in the middle of it. I find it weird how people can't see it. Just scale back the charts and it couldn't be more clear. These bumbs on the road are normal and altcoin seasons take time. That's why they are called seasons and not pumps.

Altcoin season doesn't mean that you would make profit every day or every week. There can be even bad months during it. And not EVERY coin will be part of it.

really agreed with this, many people don't see it but honestly we're already in altcoin season and whether it's gonna go further up or down it's still an unclear future but seeing that some of the coins already reaching their all time high and even surpasses it by several folds already, it's indeed altcoin season.

for example is SOL, it's already nearing all time high of 2021, though it hasn't surpassed yet but the fact that SOL going up all the way from $13 to $200 maybe already indicates that altcoin already here but maybe it's gonna be different where it won't surpass ATH by that much amount because speaking from the current market condition, so many capital get wasted on some useless meme coin which probably become the cause of the market not surpassing ATH by significant margin.

Sol is a perfect example, i was using that to measure general trust for alts as well. And if you want to start to count the alcoin season start from the time accumulation really started, it was from the start of 2023, so there has been time.

You're right that pretty likely that it is going to happen after the US elections. There's a lot of things that are happening before it finally ends. Rumors here and there and all of the speeches that affects the market in favor and not in favor of it. Really depends on how these candidates specially Trump on what he thinks about Bitcoin. As if he really knows a lot of it but I think that it's just a bluff and part of the script that he has memorized. So, his campaign manager and speech writer are great people and knows what the people's like to hear. But if we'll based everything about the market cycle, this year is just going to pass and maybe end of the year we'd see some movement way above today. As a sign of it, altcoin season typical comes in after Bitcoin reaches its peak.

Well you might be right in a way, Trump might be bluffing and his speech might just be mere stories or fake promises to crypto users, I don't trust these politicians though but if it happens that he really meant every word he's said and he's ready to back the crypto community at large if he probably wins then we should be expecting a massive pump in crypto currency and I think it would be good news for every crypto investor. Currently, the price of Bitcoin is going down and Alts are going down with it, this is an opportunity for every investor to buy, hold and get prepared for the next bull season, it's going to be massive as speculated, but then no one know the specific date for the next pump in Alts all I see are just speculations however it would be wise to be fully prepared before it happens to avoid missing out and now is the right time to do that.

Recently Bitcoin and Altcoins have crashed so badly due to the surging interest rate in Japan.
 
But anyway now Market has taken a bounce back to his surge track. And those who have taken advantage of this opportunity and bought more must have booked at least 10% to 15% profit margins. In my opinion, if we dig deep into the market, altcoins have bled more than Bitcion and provided the best buying opportunity. And after that, you see that the market has bounced back, so those who were in panic thought of selling in fear, while those who knew that this is an opportunity for buying, which is given every time before a bull run. They bought and filled their wallets with Altcoins. Beside that market, when there was a dump, people like big companies like Black Rock, Grayscale, Michael Saylor, etc. were buying instead of selling, so it was known that those people also knew that this is an opportunity for buying. 
 
So guys who have bought good altcoins while taking advantage of the dip. They will definitely be in profit. Because the market has bounced back and Bitcoin's major resistance now is 58.5k if Bitcoin breaks this resistance, we may be able to see a good gain in altcoins.

But anyway this stance of TON coin just attracts a number of investors towards himself while also surpassing his challengers with impressive performance in the Crypto industry. And above all, the thing that attracted people to TON coin and made the price jump 18% was the launch of the W5 smart wallet, which is based on the unique concept that users can make transactions without gas fees. This is why people are attracted to TON with great excitement. And within only 30 days, 11 million users were attracted to the TON coin.

All those whales love these dips, many people do not realize how much important these dips are for the rich people, and the reality is that it's quite profitable to spend bunch of money (these people spend billions) on buying up when it's low, so that they could make a profit when it goes back up. I mean it's clear that we are going to see the price have some changes and the market will go back up eventually, so it is not a shocker that they are buying right now.

Just because we think that we did alright recently, doesn't mean that it will continue to go down that way, it may or may not reach that level in the end. Alt season will happen next year if you ask me, that's my idea and if I am wrong then it wouldn't be the first time but I do not see how it will happen this year.

I think bull run will start with bitcoin late this year, and then it will increase everything else on the way higher at the start of the next year. Spring of 2025 is when I think it will peak, and then it will just start to crash, it will be the same cycle over and over again.

This is of course just a guess and I could very well be wrong as well. If we want to make sure then the thing we need to do is keep holding and keep accumulating more. If we do that then we are going to be fine. I am feeling like it is going to be fine, it is not going to really matter that much, we just need to keep it going as much as we can and hold. If you hold long enough, then either in a month or in a year, you will see when it goes up and profit.

crypto is a large market and people are always failing to understand, when bitcoin is on a run their is no way that other altcoins will not fallow that is something that is always happening to if you want to know when altcoins will be on a move then just focus on bitcoin, then you will be able to decide when altcoins are also doing well and this is not even all the time and for now it will be very hard for any altcoin to surpass bitcoin. and rushing to sell not good but wait learn from what is going on in the market you can not worry when you already have knowledge about crypto because their are things you will learn from the market. why will i even sell my stock on a lower price. i don't think i have business with when the price is down I will continue with my trading for now, i will continue with my principles have a large amount to acquire to make a large amount.

I have read through this thread severally and each time I read this thread title different views and answers comes to my head as for when the altcoins Bull market is here, the thing is that, at this moment altcoins are doing greatly well and for the record many of them are already in their own season with some making rapids increase in the price and market volume, so for a fact I can say there is no difference between altcoins and Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency market is kind of tough to predict and the entire market can not move in one direction and that is why we have to say that whatever time a coin did a good market movement such a time is their season.
And with the loads of memecoins hype in the market this days and tons of new projects coming from behind to take the Frontline, much have to be expected from them anytime and all time, so my final advice is that just hold whatever amount you can risk and make sure to look out for the time any moment then make your own decisions.

We are already in the altcoins market but because of what is happening in the world making the price of stock market crashing, this has affected the price of Bitcoin which has also affect all altcoins in the market. Maybe when things settled down, Bitcoin will continue the bull run and everything would be better seeing altcoins doing better in the market.

Well, some observers do believe that there will be a bull run on altcoins after the Bitcoin halving and it could be that between 3 to 6 months the crypto will experience a price spike due to market pressure from miners because with the halving, the miner's reward is reduced by up to 50% so that it can have an impact on high price demand, so for now in August the upward price movement has started to be seen, maybe now you can still enter to buy some altcoins that have good potential.

Traditionally there has been a lag between the halvening event and the next bull run but it's coming.  If I had to guess things will heat up in December have a final tax sell off then full bore in the first quarter of calender year 2025.  Shoukd be a good year, think we have a couple more months to accumulate at these prices.  Right now is definitely a buy time.

Alt season might come in a little bit later than expected, bitcoin's being tested as well by outside forces and if the trend continues, altcoin's time is going to come right after bitcoin propels itself into the stratosphere. Besides, it's been historically sound for the bull run to arrive a year later after the halving, it just happened a little earlier last time around but history leans towards it taking a little bit more time before they do show up. It can occur at anytime and no one can time it. To get a better perspective on when alts are likely to get into its bull moment, I use Bitcoin dominance to navigate it. My eyes are on that Bitcoin data to see when its dominance drops to below 48% of the total market capitalization. At the moment, that dominance is above 53%. There's no way alts can get more attention now as investors are still interested in bagging Bitcoin.

in this case patience needs to be applied by thinking more positively, and patience is the main key, because the price of altcoin is decreasing and it will cause concern among those in it, even so, there is still a possibility for the price to rise again and it can change at any time depending on the current market.

How is everyone else feeling? My patience is being tested lately, its been a long few years of buying and holding and i just can't wait for alt season so i can cash out my profits and take a break from crypto for a bit.

Hopefully once November comes our altcoins can start moving again like we saw earlier in the year.

As we can see, bitcoin is already going gradually, it hit $69k, and we are still expecting it to go higher soon. Bitcoin is moving up, but altcoins are just stable, bitcoin is just better, because even when the bull run starts, bitcoin will be the first that will be pumping before altcoins will start following it gradually. Let’s just keep on waiting, but it’s just better to invest in bitcoin than altcoins. Because of the risk involved in altcoin investment, some of them might not even perform as expected by the people that invested in it.

Since you have been holding for long, then it’s better you keep on holding, it won’t really make sense for you to sell now, when everyone is expecting bull run in the next few months, I don’t really think selling is a good idea currently, just have a little bit patience, keep on holding.

We all can't predict the altcoin season exactly. you buy and hold altcoin until now, I'm sure you have your investment plan target. if it's altcoin season, then just wait. if it hasn't been achieved, then you haven't done it according to plan.

The US election could influence the price of Bitcoin and altcoins if things goes positive. Maybe if Donald is able to be elected as the president, that could influence the price of Bitcoin and the whole crypto market can start pumping. Trump has already promised to stop the war between the Russians and the Ukrainian to help create peace in the world and that is what we are hoping to see so that these killings ana conflicts between Israel and some of the Arab nations will stop. Iran will drop their harms and focus on peace negotiations with the Israel government. These are most of the things we could see which is going to pump the price of Bitcoin and altcoins if Trump ever becomes the president.

Things have changed, if there's bull run, BTC will move and altcoins will follow;
So, if you have 100% of your portfolio in altcoins, just be patient and be sure that you are holding good altcoins and that's it.

I have been very patient for a long time now but see altcoins are crashing again as we speak its getting very tiring waiting around  ???

You need to be a strong hand as an investor and it is tiring to keep monitoring the market all the time because there is no progress.

The situation of the altcoin market now:
Bitcoin goes up a few percent altcoins don't go up much.
Bitcoin falls a few percent then altcoins will follow.

But believe me the full bullrun is yet to come, if you are confident in your altcoins keep HOLD until next year who knows it becomes a reality and investor hopes with a bullrun next year.

While I respect he at least say he will stop, there is absolutely no chance he can stop that without hurting one side. I think it's already started, but alts season could be over just as quickly. It is not stable at all for me, I feel more confident with BTC and TFS. Recently I even found an article about Fairspin and I quite agree with everything that is written there https://fairspin.cc/cryptocurrencies-and-online-games-trends-in-2024. I think their direction is really promising and their blockchain is already showing itself well. It may well be that next year such projects will gain even more popularity.

Bitcoin reached just under $98K a few hours ago meaning we are now just $2K away from the magical $100K.

I didn’t expect us to reach $100K this year but looks like we may even hit it before Decemeber.

Some of my altcoins I am holding in the current top 25 are holding up pretty well but there rest are struggling. When do we think alt season will be?

Any insights on why new meme coins seem to doing far better than old ones like babydoge? (Despite the new ones having really small holders in comparison?)
