Title: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: NurseHub on August 02, 2025, 09:13:42 PM I made this post below in a thread in my local board and I thought I should share it here and also give my two cent opinion to others.
My advice to anyone will simply, avoid or do not buy dreams. If dreams of cryptocurrency of any kind is sold to you do not buy to it. This above is from my experience, all scams are always tied to selling of dreams, some people call it too good to be true ideas or dreams. First way to avoid getting scammed is to be Skeptical about everything, and unsolicited private messages or DMs should be treated with Skepticism hence if otherwise any dreams sold to you by anyone should not be bought, don't hesitate to leave such conversations that have too much of promise of returns to you. I hope this helps someone today. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! I believe that the first way to avoid getting scammed is not being greedy and believing in something for nothing, secondly not seeking the easy way to achieving a great financial success. I hope this helps someone today. It's better to ask yourself some vital questions or get clarifications on how someone promising you any goodies actually makes his own money from the business. I've learned that for a business to be sustainable, an employer should make up to 5 times or more what he pays for labour or collaboration, so if there's no clear and practical way he gets his own revenue, then you're the revenue. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: Alone055 on August 02, 2025, 09:34:37 PM Well, you said nothing new, but it's all true. The only thing newbies should be blamed for when they get scammed is that they didn't get enough knowledge before getting involved in anything. I remember my initial days in this industry, it wasn't easy, of course, because there were too many scams around at that time, most popular ones used to be Bitcoin doublers and Cloud mining platforms, that would promise you very high returns for your investments, and people used to lose so much money into those things because they lacked knowledge, and they used to think Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick scheme.
It's been so many years, but even today, if you tell a newbie that there is a platform that allows you to mine Bitcoin online by buying a specific package, and you will get ROI within a month, they will start believing you, because they don't know anything about these things, and that is so wrong. When you get into something, you should start collecting knowledge about it, and make sure that you know each and everything about the industry you are in, so that you don't face problems and troubles for your involvement. Newbies overlook this, but they don't realize how important it is to have knowledge. :) Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! You nailed it with those two statements. If you check very well, the majority of the people who fall into the victim or scam were because of their greed and the belief that there is free money out there. Once you are greedy and want free things, then you become the number one target for scammers. They will sell that idea and information that you so much hope and desire for to you, and you will end up buying and believing it without even giving it a second thought because that's exactly what the person was expecting.Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: SmartGold01 on August 02, 2025, 09:38:58 PM I am actually trying to understand what you meant by dreams, is this a coin or token because talking about dreams being solid is like statement not complete. Perhaps I don't encourage anyone to look at whatever they are being sent on private messages because scammers are running their scamming activities though dm on forum and even any other social media platform we are using. There are people who are so such desperate to utilized every single opportunities they have offered them on pm or any place and those people can really sugarcoat words into people's heart because if they don't know what they are doing they easily gets lured to get scam.
Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! But in other way, when a too looking golden opportunity is served before you, I think being skeptic about it is a safe move but is it right declining outer Ignorant because sometimes we also good looses good fortunes out of being ignorant without efforts of respect to verify if the opportunity may be legitimate or not before deciding.
I believe this is how most of us have been possible to enjoy the services and provisions of bitcoin after being skeptic about it in an onset while some are missing out while still believe bitcoin is a scam. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: sunsilk on August 02, 2025, 10:57:07 PM I thought that it's something really connected to dreams. But you're right that people shouldn't get bought when someone pitches about their dreams.
And to get that dream, all they have to do is to believe the pitcher and invest the money that they have worked for. They know how to be connected to their victims and that's why they're using your dreams for you to be so emotional to the point that even they sell nothing but outright scams, you'll get carried away and will bite on the potential scam. Too good to be true offers are everywhere but they all contains false promises and money in the thin air. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! It's quite deep what OP meant, but as I understand, never trust people who offer help because they commonly lead you into a scam. I even personally experienced this when someone PMed me asking if I wanted to have massive income through their exchange, all I had to do was deposit on the exchange and trust their promise to help, which was clearly a scam. Yes you are right that is very common scam and main goal is to get our trust by promising easy money. Scammers pretend to be helpful but they really just want to take our money. They mostly pressure us to act fast and might even claim that other people have already gotten rich. Simple lesson is to be careful of strangers who offer to help with money as their supposed generosity is almost always trick to get us to give them our cash.Think about it, when a stranger offers free service just to help you earn a few bucks, as they say, but they never apply it themselves but instead, they aim to make a profit. I only agree with you that if it is a dream with altcoins, shitcoins, and scam meme tokens, avoid all of them will keep you and your fund safely. Bitcoin is the only safe cryptocurrency for spending your money and invest with high chance of getting richer over years. If you are unsure about it, you can look at what the others have been doing, especially Bitcoin Spot ETFs and institutional investors, they choose Bitcoin and consider Bitcoin as a best investment asset in blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. Observe, learn from them, and follow their actions can help you investing like an institutional investor, like a pro. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! I feel that it is not an old strategy, because basically it is the most important thing to use at any time to avoid the trap of fraud, and we also know that beginners can still fall into the trap, if they do not know the strategy you mentioned. I remember a saying that says "Don't put your money in something you don't know", and it has a fairly broad meaning and the essence of the saying is to stay alert to things that involve money, especially those that sell beautiful dreams, because usually those are scammers to lure potential victims. So, in essence we can conclude that knowledge of what we will do is important and fundamental, in order to achieve what we want, especially also to avoid fraud or scams. The only key here, do not easily trust a person that is offering you something that is unusual for you. Everyone must limit themselves from interacting with unfamiliar people, especially those who intend to offer help or certain benefits to us. We are in an environment where scammers roam, and we can follow anything to gather a lot of information. However, we must wisely limit our interactions with unknown individuals. This is also quite vulnerable for those who have businesses to offer services. Choosing clients will be very important. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Before anyone can make a change they first have to dream, many peoples dream reamianed a dream till today because they don't work towards it, dream is the first step we need to take. The advice you should have given up is people should stop believing in too good to be true dreams, greediness in human awakens once they are sold the impossible dreams, like getting rich in a day. That you can be rich isn't a fake dream, if you dream it then it's possible but taking the right path is ths best. Don't be sold a dream that doesn't look genuine enough, that's how people get scammed. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Using the word "dream" in this thread really got me confused but I think I understand the message you are trying to pass across. Before anyone scams you there are two things involved, it's either you are naive or greedy. Scammers also target at people that are naive or the greedy ones because with all the scams stories everywhere in the internet still greed has blindly many people from seeing when a promise of high returns sounds too good to be true, I have been in the crypto space long enough to know when a scammer is talking to me and I'm obviously not the greedy type neither am I naive hence the reason why I'm not easily convinced to buy anything online that I'm not sure of, and if I see a strange message in my dm about buying something maybe a coin, I will do my research on it and if they sound too good and desperate I first of all allow them to display their stupidity in my dm before leaving the conversation. My advice to anyone will simply, avoid or do not buy dreams. If dreams of cryptocurrency of any kind is sold to you do not buy to it. This above is from my experience, all scams are always tied to selling of dreams, some people call it too good to be true ideas or dreams. Post by: Obari on August 04, 2025, 06:43:31 AM Most times, people fall into the hands of scam because they are too greedy and want more from little and most times it’s the newbies that fall more for these scams and I wouldn’t have to totally blame them for this.
I totally agree with op never to buy others dreams especially when it has to do with cryptocurrency because we might just end up messing things up even worst than we could ever imagine. I think I’ve always said it previously that, everything online should be handled with extra caution especially when it has to do with money, don’t even trust anyone, please do all the findings and verifications you ought to and don’t even be in a hast to conclude without a thorough investigation and evidence. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: reagansimms on August 04, 2025, 12:44:23 PM As individuals who are new to the crypto world, they must be aware of where they stand. The dreams that come from the con artists are too beautiful to come true, they must quickly get out of these dreams so as not to get too caught up in the pleasures of fantasy which can lead to losses. Greed needs to be avoided in order to keep yourself on the right track, when a dream seller approaches you, the best thing you can do is ignore him. There's no such thing as a free lunch without sweating first, and in the crypto world, beginners need to equip themselves with knowledge and understanding of the risks involved, including how to escape the sweet dream traps designed by scammers.
Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: Sim_card on August 04, 2025, 02:01:47 PM The dream of getting rich quick can lead majority of newbies to fall for scammers. Especially, when they are lazy and want to reap from where they did not sow. Imagine a newbie who wants to make money from trading, because he feels that's so easy to make money from trading can fall to a scammer who will claim to be a trader. The scammer will ask them to deposit some funds into an exchange account and gradually collecting more money from them until, they will realize that's a scam when they ask for withdrawal. Don't believe anything to be true on the internet.

You see those catchy titles on YouTube or TikTok like “Invest $100 and make 200% daily” or “Invest $100 and get 10x in a few days” or “The coin that will change your life if you invest in it.” All of these are extremely attractive titles, and many people might believe they can double their money and investments this way... Many may buy these dreams hoping to achieve wealth, only to fall into the trap of greed that leads them to a scam bot, a fake exchange platform, a phishing website, a pump and dump coin, or a Ponzi scheme. Therefore, as the OP advised, and I see as important advice for beginners, they should stop chasing these unrealistic dreams and always seek the facts and do their own research. Creating a strategy to get people emotionally attached to buying a service/product/idea/whatever. Unfortunately, this is what marketers do. I should know, I use to work as one. But there is a difference between trying to sell something with beautiful, alluring packaging and lying about what you are selling. The latter can be called a scam. A marketing expert would never lie about what they are selling because that would damage the businesses reputation. A scammer does not call about reputation as long as they can make money. When it comes to cryptocurrency, when in doubt, treat any and every cryptocurrency that is being marketed to you as a scam. You don't need to have a high sensitivity of intuition here; everything comes with experience. Today, there is a lot of advertising and promises that offer the best conditions for investing, but in fact, the best will always go to scammers. I was just as naive when I learned about cryptocurrency, and every new "project" inspired me until my eyes were opened to the fact that all this is a scam and a rip-off of investors. We must understand that scammers follow technologies and immediately come up with different scams, while the minds of beginners are not yet warmed up enough with correct information. The best thing we should do for ourselves is to be aware and monitor everything that is published on the network, but separate the "wheat from the chaff" so as not to fall for the scammers' bait.

They are very eager to get money as quickly as possible without following proper channel not realising there's no shortcut to success. The funny thing about trying to get money out of no where is that you end up spending the little you have again instead of making more money. Anyone promising you easy way to make money through whatever means is just trying to survive through you. The only time I know I can discuss something regarding buying or even selling is when I know you too well, and even in such cases, I'll still feel sceptical because impersonation has also been normalised by scammers in our world today. Secondly, I can never put my money into something I've not carried an extensive amount of research on and confirmed the authenticity, and this should be the attitude of people, especially newbies to anything that requires them to put their money, regardless of how good or authentic the dream might seem to be. Consider everything to be a scam until you've confirmed beyond reasonable doubt that it's actually legit, and you'll be able to avoid being scammed and losing your money.

That's not true because some celebrities and influencers might have pure souls, and think that they can't deceive their followers by promoting something shady to them, but others won't think twice if they are getting good money in return, because nowadays, money is the most important thing in the world for everyone.....Besides that we shouldn't think that a certain product, be it a cryptocurrency or anything in general, is trustworthy and can be bought to used without any problems only because it has been promoted by a celebrity or an influencer we like or follow, because they are also human, honestly humans are always drawn to certain things and can make mistakes. The scammer will ask them to deposit some funds into an exchange account and gradually collecting more money from them until, they will realize that's a scam when they ask for withdrawal. However if people stop believing anything good to be truthful stories in social media or any part of the Internet, them I will be sure that the rate at which people get scammed will probably reduce. But if people continue to believe anything they come across on the social media or the internet then they will keep on getting scammed. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! In this world of too many technological advancements, you have to approach almost everthing with a good dose of skepticism so you don't have to always fall prey of this scammers.
Some may even come like help and like OP mentioned some like lofty dreams that could be a life time change for you and so you would want to key into it only to later it was an organised scam aimed at ripping unsuspecting individuals like you of their hard earned money or even your live time savings so don't buy into every dream you see out ther as not all of them are aimed at your good. I've learned that for a business to be sustainable, an employer should make up to 5 times or more what he pays for labour or collaboration, so if there's no clear and practical way he gets his own revenue, then you're the revenue. Self control is not just an attribute only newbies should possess. Anyone can become a victim at any time. Whether one is selling a dream, introducing an investment or extending a hand of partnership, the sole aim of accepting to be part of it should not be driven by greed, even when the offer is coming from a known person. With the increase in scams, we cannot ignore the importance of due diligence check and proper research before acting on any information thrown to us. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: Finestream on August 06, 2025, 08:41:31 PM The dreams that are too good to be true are always a trap.. That’s the most important there, take time to research so that you won’t fall in any dream that are just too good to be true. Because let’s face the reality, those who mostly fall on this scheme are those beginners, those who lack the knowledge and experience, and most of all, those who become greedy along the way. Let’s not chase dreams without prior research and without learning from those early crypto adopters. Scammers are just waiting in the corner waiting for their victim, so we should be cautious at all times. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! There are many ways that someone will tell you a story that is so convincing and not see any reason to disbelief in the story, but when you have a little doubt on it, even though not a doubt on it, asking questions to confirm the legitimacy of it is important for your own safety in the crypto space. Safety that will save you from losing your funds and also not making you to expose to dangerous attack and inflictions of your wallet.
The space is full of potential scammers and they curate their stories well to believe in them, always check and recheck before you take any action especially if you’re a newbie and not familiar with what is brought forth to you. It should not always be that way. I know many have found themselves easy ways to access wealth without wasting much time, but what comes very easy most times can also go very easy without the person being able to give an account of how it came about. It's just our mentality; what you want will determine how you will set your goals, and if greed in you doesn't allow you to plan well, the person might either learn the hard way by losing what they have to scammers first before getting their senses back, or they will forever still be following that path. Remember that nothing is easy, whoever shows you the hope of getting rich quickly will definitely cheat you, so you must be careful. For the sake of posterity, we will continue to tell others including those who are new to these investments to be cautious of this major trap of the mindset which promises people of getting free money through investments which sound too good to be true. Any investments that promises you heaven on earth is most probably fake and unhealthy for your considerations. In fact I've been dealing with one recently. Let me share with you guys. Couple of weeks ago, I consulted a friend of mine whom I knew through a youth movement to come assist me in coordinating my brother's affairs who is a son to a very prominent figure in my country. Our first meeting which was the introductory meeting went well, then we had the second one couple of days after which came with its own shades. My friend, upon hearing my brother committing 10 million naira to 20 million naira to the project, was fascinated about the whole thing and immediately brought up a proposal to help my brother make 600 million naira in 6 months with just 50 million naira capital. In my head I'm like, is this some sort of ponzi scheme or what? Immediately my brother and myself were both disinterested in working with my friend and the rest is a story now. Why did I bring this scenario? The reason is yu have to be extra careful with even your friends when it comes to issues that have to do with money. Because money is the root of all evils and any investment which sounds too good to be true is probably fake, no matter who's involved. Another problem is many newbies do not want to learn first. They just want to cash out immediately without following the due process, making it easy for scammers to get what they want from them. They capitalize on people's desperacy and greed to exploit them by using fake screenshots of profits made and testimonials to get to them. My advice for you is, don't be in a rush. Learn the basics, understand the risks involved, verify the platforms through online/offline research and don't give your full trust to anyone managing your funds for you. Get yourself disciplined and avoid unnecessary desperation because it can lead to your destruction. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: Gost ms on August 07, 2025, 07:55:46 AM First of all, a person has to be aware. For example, do not be easily attracted to something. Whatever comes in front of him, he has to research about it first and then he can do whatever he wants. Because there are many people who are not aware. They trust someone very easily. As a result, after a while, he gets cheated very badly. So a person should always do something by researching.
There are many people who very easily become victims of hacking. For example, they very easily enter someone's invitation link, without doing any research, they enter that link and very easily become victims of hacking. So before doing anything, you have to research what you are doing. After that, you need to focus on that. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: Natalim on August 07, 2025, 08:33:09 PM No matter how we try to romance the reason why people easily get scammed, it all boils down to victims always being the ones to be greedy before the scammers can successfully scam them. If they are not greedy, they can easily resist scam attempts from scammers. Everyone here has also noted this same reason. Greed is already what we have deep within. The challenge is how we will control or manage it, or we just let ourselves carried away by it that’s why a lot of people have been easily scammed, most particularly those who seem innocent and lack of knowledge about the said investment. Today, if we go across all social media platforms and go to the comment sections, we will see scam-tempting offers from those offering fast profit and the rest of them. Anyone who is not greedy will just report such comments or pass and go, but the greedy, looking for quick money, will want to fall into such a trap. Now scammers are everywhere, trying to create some traps that anyone who has high greed will surely fall. That’s why it pays to become knowledgeable and even wise on your decision making, so you won’t fall on any traps set by those scammers around. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! But I also think there's are still many good and legitimate oportunities, so I think its very important don't reject automatically everything, but rather to filter the information that comes to you, investigate the facts before deciding and if it seems legitimate, then bet an amount you're willing to lose. And its not difficult to identify scams from something legitimate in most cases... I won't say it's a foolproof way, but you can always start by checking the source... anything that comes via DM from a stranger is already a red flag. Scammers also don't usually have a reputation or a consistent presence, so understanding the business model is key... if you can't identify where the money is coming from, it's probably because it's coming from you. Opportunities exist, you need to know how to take advantage of them. You just need to be willing to research beforehand and not give in to time pressure when someone tells you you need to get in today before it runs out. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Avoiding such kinda of projects that are being dm to, is advisable because most of the coins are scams This is exactly what the discussion is all about, not trusting anything told to you with fabrication and doing your own research before doing anything, so I don't understand why you said: The dreams sold to you depend on what exactly is sold to you. If it is to buy Bitcoin, would you advise such a person not to buy into the idea of buying Bitcoin? I guess not. Buying Bitcoin, or someone suggesting you buy Bitcoin, doesn't count as a dream, especially like the ones where you are told that if you make an investment in a specific project or website, you will get x returns after x days, which is a fixed rate and an obviously fabricated lie/scam. When it comes to Bitcoin, the returns can't be fixed, and someone else won't get any benefit if you buy Bitcoin when they tell you unless they are after referral earnings. That being said, one should make sure that they are using the right platform or way to buy Bitcoin or any other asset and never go with exchanges or platforms suggested by strangers. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: Sonia_123 on August 09, 2025, 11:56:30 PM Just be doubtful. Treat like everything that happens that is too good to be true are not real at all but scams. And always DYOR, that is our weapon not to fall for any scams or traps from scammers. This may be an old strategy for us early investors but newbies could still easily fall for this, most especially that most of them invest for the sake of getting instant money or profits. Always work with your ideas and not people's ideas in other to remain focus and successful in life, and be careful with people around you and the type of friend you keep since no one is to be trusted, they might be an agent to those fraudsters. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: Bigjoe33 on August 10, 2025, 08:33:46 PM First way to avoid getting scammed is to be Skeptical about everything, and unsolicited private messages or DMs should be treated with Skepticism hence if otherwise any dreams sold to you by anyone should not be bought, don't hesitate to leave such conversations that have too much of promise of returns to you. Even as we agree to be very careful or sceptical about opportunities and people online, one of our majoy problem is these scammers. Yea! They have so rebranded and have grown in wisdom to deceive. It is just too surprising how far a scammer can go to gather facts, cook up stories and arrange all necessary documents, offices and personnels with which he will use to scam you. Sometimes, victims really get careful and try all means to avoid any scam, but at the end, when it promises to be confirmed and true, they still end up crying. Too bad. But the bottom line still remains, if they can do all that to deceive you to fall victims for them, we too can also go extra miles in making proper fundings, asking questions and ensuring its viability and workability before ourselves financially. How true is the success story? How workable is it? Look at its future in the next ten years ahead, is it still sustainable? All these and many more should firm your mindset. Also check, how desperate is this client or preacher in bringing me in, does he really need me to stay alive or he is just helping me out, and my decision totally depends on my wish? Watch closely, his reactions will reveal his mindset. I have been scammed before, and I know how it feels. Any story that sounds too sweet and real may be misleading at the end. The truth be told. You cannot make it anywhere without doing work. So does this opportunity preach hard work and get paid or invest, relax and get pain? Knowledge is needed, make research, proper research before involving. The ball is in your court Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: IceLincoln on August 10, 2025, 11:14:07 PM Most times, people fall into the hands of scam because they are too greedy and want more from little and most times it’s the newbies that fall more for these scams and I wouldn’t have to totally blame them for this. The major concern in this matter is the solution but it’s obvious that there’s none except to just STAY AWAY or ignore such messages when you see or hear it. This doesn’t affect only newbies, it might shock you to know some oldies still fall victim of such scams, the level of greed in humans atimes is absolutely alarming. I had a friend who’s been in this space even before me, he got scammed he knew it was scam but he thought he could outsmart the scammer but in the end he failed woefully, so the best thing is to JUST stay away or be Sceptical about almost everything and do proper research until you’re sure before getting into any project.I totally agree with op never to buy others dreams especially when it has to do with cryptocurrency because we might just end up messing things up even worst than we could ever imagine. I think I’ve always said it previously that, everything online should be handled with extra caution especially when it has to do with money, don’t even trust anyone, please do all the findings and verifications you ought to and don’t even be in a hast to conclude without a thorough investigation and evidence. But if you control your greed and you can get the things earned by the hardships of others for free, then of course such incidents or fraud can happen, it is natural. Because getting free things is never always desired, so how do you expect to get your hard-earned money back, you should have suspected it before. But look at everything with suspicion, but keep it hidden within yourself, then you will not be a victim of fraud, because do not trust everyone in the world, many are sitting in the net of fraud because anyone will be greedy and if many people come here with the desire of this greed, they will definitely be a victim of fraud. You should be careful and be deprived of getting free things. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: l3pox on August 11, 2025, 04:22:01 PM People who get into the crypto ecosystem dreaming of getting rich overnight, unfortunately, usually end up losing all their money. If you’re not a patient person, your chances of making quick money in crypto are lower than your chances of winning at blackjack or roulette. crazy that the best way to get rich quick is to give up completely the midset of getting rich quick and deciding to get rich slowly over time while keeping exposure to assymetrical risk reward opportunities and building your own luck these two simple things will probably yield better results than stressing too much in the short run There is a saying that if you fly too close to the sun, your wings would burn which would lead to your downfall. Our dreams are what makes use strive harder in reaching our goals. Without something to look forward to, we tend to be relaxed and unmotivated without any intention of pushing ourselves to the limit. When it comes to cryptocurrencies, everyone strives to earn huge amounts of money at the end. But if our dreams get clouded by false judgement and hasty decision making, then this would contribute to potential failure at the end. In conclusion, everything has a process in which it would take time. Sure, there may be people who got rich overnight barely doing any effort on their part but also understand that once your luck comes, be sure to be prepared. this saying comes from the old Greek myth of Icarus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icarus) quite interesting, I really recommend people to read mythology you are correct to consider that taking too much risk can burn a person too much, sometimes in a way that is irreversible of course people want financial freedom and to be free from the rat race, but it's probably better to achieve it with planning and no hurry than rushing and having the chance of ruining yourself Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! For example, when we invest in Bitcoin for the long term, we are indirectly dreaming that our investment will become a reality in the future, leading to financial freedom. No one can predict Bitcoin's price with certainty; we can only speculate based on history and track records. So, selling dreams is sometimes necessary to motivate us, but we must continue learning to broaden our knowledge of crypto so that when a fraudster sells our dreams, we don't fall victim to fraud. One thing is for sure, there would always be that one newbie who would still fall for their lies, probably out of greed or just being careless.. You can't be too careful as well, even an experienced crypto investor can still be tricked with various formats. You just have to play smart and avoid anything that looks too good to be true. Dont be fooled by fake prove online on social medias or reviews on sites those can be manipulated as well .. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! There are different strategies of scamming, but the main, easy way many people get scammed is through greed. People don’t think deeply; once they see a big offer, they are always ready to go with it and do whatever those offering the deal ask them to do. If someone is not greedy, it will be hard for scammers to convince them and get them scammed.I hope this helps someone today. What should always come to someone’s mind when they find a message offering a big return is: why should it be you they are trying to convince to take the offer? Where is the real money coming from? Nobody will beg you for that; someone has to work hard to get there. So, we should understand that there’s nothing like free money online.the last question you may ask yourself is: where are these people getting the money from when they are offering you a big return? There's already a thread concerning getting PM here in the forum when someone message you concerning investment here in this forum and the Investment is too good to be true all you need to do is to report the message to the moderator in this forum. Don't listen to any message from anyone in this forum some people in this forum are here just to scam others so be very careful with how you interact with people in this room especially when it is a private chat, any investments that they cannot bring out to the general public in this forum is not to be trusted, so be guided and don't allow anyone deceive you and don't be too greedy also because if you are too greedy you may fall for their scam. If dreams of cryptocurrency of any kind is sold to you do not buy to it. Sure, your advice is helpful we keep saying this countless time but it surprises me when I see people falling for this type of scam when they already know about this, I think the reason why most people still fall for this type of scam is due to greed. Some people always like to try whatever thing they see in the internet so Long as it has to do with crypto currency, more especially beginners. Most beginners whenever they see something like this, they don't hesitate to make atempt even when they're being told yet they won't listen until they see the outcome. If I trust the seller and I have done my own research about that dream and arrived at a conclusion that the dream can actually be achieved with a clear framework, I will not hesitate to follow it up and do the neccessary. How do you think partnerships are built? Now relating it to the crypto space. I will not advice anyone to to listen to any stranger or anonymous person when it comes to crypto investments. There are some obvious red flags one would see and know that whatever the dream, plan or investment might be, it will never be realistic. You can think of offers that are so good to be true Offers that want you to send in private information urgently Offers that wants to have access to your wallet Offers that wants you to make payments to unlock the dream And offers from Total strangers you can't trust. With or without research, some obvious red flags are just there and your saving grace should be to ignore. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! In real life, "there is no such thing as a free lunch". One has to struggle hard to get his meal. Even Bitcoin can't make you rich easily, we have to invest by following a strategy with patience. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! I was on a vacation once where some person on a road side offered me a ticket to scratch and win a lottery. I accepted it and scratched and won a free hotel stay but on one condition that I will have to attend a workshop. So I went ahead and attended the workshop where the person was trying to sell a vacation package to me. He initially offered the package to me for around $1700 but I denied saying I don't have that much money. Then he said he can give it to me on a discount for $1500 but I didn't accept that too. He said I can book the package for $600 and then pay the remaining later. So the offer was good but I was a little hesitant about it and so I said that I will come back later. He then went ahead and offered me a final price of $200 for booking the package but I started to leave as I felt something was fishy. The offer sounded too good to be true and just as when I was leaving they offered me to book the deal for $60 but I left the place. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: Bitcoin Smith on August 19, 2025, 09:56:56 PM He initially offered the package to me for around $1700 but I denied saying I don't have that much money. Hotel stay packages, and thank god you managed to get out of this but many fell for this even they are well educated. This is nothing but a complete scam they just collect list of users in multiple ways like get the list of people who made big purchase in the recent days or just trap some randomly and give them 1 or 2 day hotel stay coupon which itself can be used or not but they will ask us to collect the coupon on a particular day and mostly as a couple because they convince women easily by saying attractive terms like you can save 70% money while enjoying hotel stays fr free for a year. But the intention is clear, they are desperate to make money and leave you to hang dry once they got something from you. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Yes indeed, in fact they were even willing to sign an agreement and even told me to sign the papers. But I said I will read it first and come back tomorrow and only then sign it but they were not agreeing to that. At one point I was convinced and willing to pay but something in me stopped me from paying them. So I thought of an idea and gave them my alternate credit card in which I have deliberately set a low amount limit. Then I went ahead to make the payment so that it can decline the payment. I was a little late in catching the red flags but right on time to exit from the scam. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: l3pox on August 20, 2025, 07:03:32 PM that's why you should learn to DYOR instead of realying on other people telling you to do x or y or z it's much easier to follow someone but the key to a good life is taking responsibility for everything this is one of the most important things to do In the beginning, you can learn from friends you trust. Then you can decide for yourself. Actually, there's nothing wrong with that; all beginners should do that. They should actively seek out as much information as possible. Once they feel capable, they should go out and try what they believe will be better. But remember, you must be prepared for any losses. That's fine whether you're following trading instructions or standing on your own two feet. just remember to learn from friends that you are sure that are succesful and not the ones you THINK that they made it be sure you have to learn to recognize who's really into it and the ones who are just larping. It's actually a complete statement if you put some reasoning into it, dreams are being sold regularly in the industry in the sense that you get ads telling you to buy the next Bitcoin or any other coin or trend that they're trying to shill to you. People are being convinced into believing that they can be the next lucky person that bought a coin and it 10x or a 100x in the shortest timeframe possible. Alot of pump and dump scams are being shilled to people and if you aren't informed, you'll think you're investing into something reasonable and I believe that's what the OP is advising against. Instead of those investments, newbies are better off buying Bitcoin to hodl and not even trading or trying out some other ponzi scheme bullshit. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! But come to think of it, what will newbies be doing with going into trading of coins that doesn't have long-term, infact should newbies even think of any other coin aside Bitcoin, as a newbie I think the best way to into this space is by concentrating on Bitcoin investment at first, trading shouldn't come to pay at first because such will take the time such newbie would've use to start accumulating Bitcoin to start learning trading as such it may even hinder such newbie from investing in the major investment, some traders don't actually like keeping their Bitcoin because they see accumulation as waste of time, they feel that it is better to use the amount available to keep chasing more money in trading instead of accumulating and hodling Bitcoin for the future. Since you've already said that trading can be addictive I think newbies should take note of that to avoid messing around.Trading can be addictive irrespective of whom they are or how much they have while trading. There are many who do this kind of practice that makes the increase in memecoins very big but in the end it is only an Exit Liquidity place for developers and their teams. It's not just about the story, but I experienced it myself with some memecoins that I held back at the time and at first it looked fine with a pretty high boost. Dev always built a narrative that the memecoin would grow bigger all the time and reach an unthinkable ATH, but in the months that went on that dream only became a nightmare when the Decline really stressed everyone out and started leaving it with a lot of losses. Never believe in any dream offered by others, whoever it is, If you have made a profit then sell and take that profit, Don't think twice because crypto will not compensate you for anything. Especially in the world of memecoins, it’s a home of dreams that are sold to people who do not have firsthand experiences about how manipulative it can become and crash in days or minutes, I was very very much into memecoins because I was sold a lot of dreams that I could become millionaire over few attempts just because i saw guys scream on medias how much they made, the only thing which saved me the cost of it was the mere fact that an elder or senior who has been around before memecoins gave me an eye opener lesson hence I didn’t process with losing my money to memecoins. Even in person like your friend could also get you in trouble especially if the bitcoin sold is stolen. For buying new projects is a risky investment since the project isn't 100% successful in the future. If anyone aren't aware many new projects are failing and only very few are successful after their launching of their projects. Anyone who wants to buy bitcoin can either go through the exchange or they can pass through other routes, whicheverwill become easier for them. If you are talking about stolen bitcoin, we should avoid linking our real identity to it, as if it's being tracked, you, the buyer, will also get to be affected by that too. For security reasons, I just prefer to either pass KYC and buy and sell directly myself using my own data, and I know the source of fund.Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! You have said it all, the first way to avoid getting scammed is not being greedy; greed is one of the reasons why some people get scammed; when you are contented with what you have, it will be difficult for you to get scammed; some people lose their sense when they hear about how to earn a quick profit in a day, and that is the method that scammers always use to scam people. I've already received multiple DMs on Telegram regarding an opportunity which can give me lots of money in the long run, but I just ignore it because I know that it isn't realistic. Being skeptical about everything is also good, and with that kind of mindset, you will be forced to just invest on some old coins out there such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other top coins as well. If you want to be rich, go find those opportunities. Opportunities will not reach to you randomly. You need to find them, and maximize it. Always take note that legit developers of a project/exchange/whatever it is will not approach you out of nowhere. You're the one that will approach them. :) Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Often time many people are disappointed, angry, and frustrated after joining the space. They bought a dream sold to them it wasn’t theirs in the first place. This had made many people angry, frustrated and even worse more blamed themselves for joining the space in the first place. What dream have you bought yourself or someone else’s? People who bought other people dream might end up leaving the business living in eternal regrets. Before you join any business, do your research; ensure you have and adequate knowledge that will keep you going on tough times. There is an economist from Belarus (quite smart, he gives a lot of serious analytical commentary in various media) who still considers Bitcoin to be the kind of dream that someone is trying to sell. He says that perhaps there is some technology behind Bitcoin, but he won't even study it, because what he notices first of all is that from Bitcoin holders you always hear: "Buy Bitcoin". If St any point you suspect anyone you are Engaging in a conversation with to be a scammer, first step to protecting yourself I'd disengaging from such conversation so as to avoid giving room for any conviction whatsoever that will lead to you wanting to give it a trial. I am struggling to understand your definition of dream and how it is sold to someone. Should I take dream to mean testimonies? My advice to anyone will simply, avoid or do not buy dreams. If dreams of cryptocurrency of any kind is sold to you do not buy to it. This above is from my experience, all scams are always tied to selling of dreams, some people call it too good to be true ideas or dreams. First way to avoid getting scammed is to be Skeptical about everything, and unsolicited private messages or DMs should be treated with Skepticism hence if otherwise any dreams sold to you by anyone should not be bought, don't hesitate to leave such conversations that have too much of promise of returns to you. I hope this helps someone today. I know that what people normally share is testimonies of how they became so rich through bitcoin and most of such testimonies come from scammers or people who really have not experienced bitcoin before. As you said above, it is wise to threat every testimony or story with skepticism and it is only when you are in disbelief that you can ask some logical questions. Immediately you are overwhelmed by their fake testimonies, you become defenseless and probably a victim of their scam. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Dreams sold to you are likely not to produce anything Good because, it's not your dream and you don't know how it will work, what to be achieved and how to go about it, instead of buying peoples dream, why not build, develope and make your dreams grow yourself. Most dreams bought from people tends not to profitable but ends up being a scam at the end of the day, real opportunity and golden dreams can't be sold out by any reliable person. I just realized that most people failed to understand that whatever business/ Investment that will bring 100x profit within a short period means that the risk that is applied in that business/ Investment is equivalent to that 100x profit you're getting if not more than the profit, while Long term investment helps to minimize risk and also bring more bigger profit than short term investment as you will allow it to compound or get matured Before attempting to sell. Post by: BitBakerr1 on September 09, 2025, 04:27:08 PM I love this your advice is a very good one and I believe it will help a lot of people even me, the reason why a lot of people get scammed is because they buy the dreams that they sold to them, whenever you are giving or told about a particular crypto venture or idea you should be very careful so as not to get scammed.
A lot of newbies have face scam issue especially because they don't have this knowledge, there was a thread I saw that someone talked about someone PM him or her in this forum and trying to introduce an investment to him or her. As a newbie when you see some message that tells you that there is an opportunity to upgrade your source of income to a very huge amount just know that you need to be very careful especially when it involves online investment if possible don't even reply there message so you won't be tempted to go and invest because the more you listen to them the more tempted they will become to invest because they usually have sweet way of saying things and making them look real. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Post by: puloweh555 on September 09, 2025, 05:26:55 PM The dream of getting rich quick can lead majority of newbies to fall for scammers. Often, beginners are easily swayed by dreams offered by scammers, promising greater profits with little capital. While the crypto world isn't that easy, it's certainly not wrong to dream, but we must also be realistic. If something seems out of place, such as a certain amount of capital, you can become rich in a few days or months, this is certainly a scam, and victims of such dreams often fall prey to those who are still beginners and are greedy. I mean, not all dreams are bad. We invest in Bitcoin because we dream of creating financial freedom in the future. It's just that this dream makes sense because Bitcoin is an asset with fundamentals and a limited supply. Achieving this dream also requires patience and perseverance to hold it for the long term. Its so risky to deal with people personally or even on random dude online since we don't know what's running around in their minds. So to make sure that we are safe and there's no string attached on other people. We better buy our Bitcoins on legitimate exchange, its not hard to do this since there are lots of platforms accept fiats or cards. We better choose the easiest and safest option that we could get on rather than trying to go with risky people because they say that they can offer huge discount to us if we buy some Bitcoins to them. Post by: Kavelj22 on September 15, 2025, 11:58:42 PM If it is a dream of getting rich, improving your finance and wealth with Bitcoin, also called as Bitcoin dream, why not? There is an economist from Belarus (quite smart, he gives a lot of serious analytical commentary in various media) who still considers Bitcoin to be the kind of dream that someone is trying to sell. He says that perhaps there is some technology behind Bitcoin, but he won't even study it, because what he notices first of all is that from Bitcoin holders you always hear: "Buy Bitcoin". When this trail of money-squeezing stops following Bitcoin, then it will be possible to take a closer look at it.This approach is quite interesting. We don't talk so much about should be after bitcoin and what bitcoin may be a start of something bigger. But this approach also let me think about maybe a bubble, not surely a start for anything bigger. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! If someone is only into long-term investments and isn't looking for short-term profits or gains, they should better stick with Bitcoin because its simply the best, but if they are also looking for short-term trades and gain some profits in the short run, they should probably look for other alternatives because altcoins tend to be better in terms of growth than Bitcoin in the short run. So if it's for short-term, altcoins should be explored, only the good ones of course, and if it's for the long run, Bitcoin should be the one. Also, if someone thinks that they aren't very experienced with the market yet and don't want to get into any sort of trouble by investing in altcoins, it is also better for them to stick to Bitcoin and only invest and hold, and with time, when they start learning more about the market and get a better hold on everything, then they can start considering buying or trading other cryptocurrencies, only if they believe they are good. It's really important to be skeptical with informations that concerns finance or cryptocurrency because the chances of getting ripped off your money is very slim when you mess around with your security. We should be very vigilant and our minds opened to learn about cryptocurrency and it's security. There is a saying that not your key not your coin so we shouldn't even mistake an exchange for a bitcoin long term holding wallet, a lot of newbies make this mistake and it's unhealthy financially, because exchanges may ban or restrict your account when something suspicious happens in your account maybe not from you but an attack. Well, I see it as a "Shiny Trap", where the trap looks very shiny to people eyes, or perceives it like a sparkling gem, so their eyes are drawn to it, and try to grab it, even though it is actually a trap. It is like selling dreams, that is they show in their advertisements or promotional videos that those who have bought their courses are earning thousands of dollars a month. And people buy their courses after seeing those attractive advertisements, that is they buy dreams. And at the end of the day, they get disappointed and when they catch up, they become victims of scams. And what they teach in those courses cannot actually earn thousands of dollars a month. They teach the basics.Similarly, in crypto, I think many Telegram channels or social media give various advertisements that if you join our channel, you will get signals. But even if you make some profit at first, at the end of the day, you will have to face losses. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! For me it's very simple, I think everything that will be offered to you needs to be relatable because once it sounds too good to be true then trust me it's definitely too good to be true but most of the times people get drawn to the easy routes without properly making research and analysis on how legit the whole offer is and before they come to realize it, it's probably too late. Scammer's know that humans are full of greed and many of them would fall for these promiscuous offer that's this same old idea of selling unreal never gets old because somewhere out there some greedy fellow will still buy in. Avoiding fraud may be easy for those who understand the nature of fraud, but for the layperson, it's difficult because they don't understand it. Many scams occur online, and many people have had their balances drained by irresponsible individuals in ways that are beyond their comprehension.I hope this helps someone today. There are many methods used by fraudsters to drain money from our mobile banking accounts, and if we're not careful, it can be dangerous. It's better to be skeptical, but don't ignore certain steps that could be dangerous, as cases like this are very common if people aren't careful. Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! Being sceptical could save you from a lot of scams, you get to ask necessary questions and give yourself the time you need to decipher what could be wrong with certain investment packages and how it’s scheme is worked. Although, you have to be sure not to use too much time in exercising your skepticism as that could easily translate into a lost opportunity as well. Don’t always try to be self dependent and sufficient on certain matters, always be open to asking necessary questions when need be and seek the aid of those that have been there. If anyone really want to stay safe so he/she need doubt means never believe surprise offers on social media and carefulness means always follow basic safety rules and best defense is to treat any unexpected request as risk.Title: Re: Don't buy dreams sold to you! This serves as a warning for newcomers, those who just joined or don’t know how scammers operate. Despite this, many still fall for the trick when scammers contact first and offer something to download or a site to register on, this is a common practice. For people who aren’t very familiar with online security, this may be new, but anyone who has studied even the basics of internet safety will recognize it. Being cautious and skeptical toward strangers is very important when it comes to your money.

Once you believe in free miracles, you’re already halfway trapped. Better to focus on grinding and building your own thing slowly than chasing shortcuts that don’t exist.. And then you know what I find very funny, it is that most of these fraudster and scammers who are dressed in the robes of wealthy and influential personnelss even go as far as using their own airtime to call you and text you telling you about some kind of Investment platform that can make me a billionaire overnight :D You know I still wonder why people still keep falling for scam's like this, is it that they are so desperate to be make it or what? So bad. |
