So... you go create these wallets explicitly in these exchanges without their knowledge or you have partnership/collaboration?

So, that means MAJOR lag between transactions because for each "exchange node" that you pass through, you have to deposit into each exchange, then wait for their confirmations, before you can withdraw them out of the exchange and move onto the next "exchange node" and withdraw (repeat to X) before finally getting to the destination address??

Until then it is just an empty promise like so many new coins with big plans and promises that never live long enough to deliver.

Whilst there will be some lag (due to the nature of this highly anonymous system), transactions will take nowhere near as long to complete as described in the above scenario.

btw the lag will be terrible, every exchange has a different confirmation number and if it is higher than 5, the network will be ultra slow

This system is like having external mixer, except instead of having all of the funds going into and coming out of the mixer there is no connection. Funds go from wallet to point A (exchange somewhere), and blockchain is monitored and then funds come from some other point B to the destination. You can't trace through the exchange to the destination, because there is no direct link.

Sounds a worthwhile coin to mine.  I'm in.  No IPO and no premine is pretty rare these days and makes a huge difference to a coins long term appeal.  Hopefully X13 will deter large farms, but I'm expecting the hashrates will be exceptionally high soon after launch.

If the countdown is correct, the launch time posted in the announcement is incorrect. The countdown has ~3 hours 10 minutes left, which makes the launch time 19:30 GMT, not 20:30 GMT as stated in the OP.

you can provide only stratum address and port, i have 15 rigs and i need 5-10 min to configure them. I don't want waste my time on this at launch.

ShockPools will open for registration as soon as the wallet source is available and compiled.  What cloudminers mentioned is correct, the address validation is a new feature in MPOS, and much needed IMHO.  Otherwise people do forget to set their payout address and we have to chase them down to get their coins.

wow this -k x13mod miner much better than -k marucoin i used before, i used to get 800kh now with this one 1.32mh on a regular 270 and my pc is super usable as well (bunch of chrome tabs)

When running Linux or Windows you can type netstat -ano in (CMD or Terminal) and compare the pid against the pid numbers in taskmanager or top.

It's an MPOS thing, not pool ops choice.

The address verification thing is a new MPOS feature.  Nobody's gonna be instamining anything, we will be busy enough getting the pool opened and keeping everyone running along let alone trying to mine.  For pools, the address requirement is a good feature, because otherwise we get a lot of people who for some reason never bother to set their payout address, and we have to go chasing people down to claim their coins.  With 50 blocks of 1 coin each it should alleviate the rush to get in on the first few blocks.

There's four pools now, ours and three others including suprnova, best to spread the hash around to all of them.

Even pools go ahead with it no standards at all , it's all about instamining and their bottom line, maybe pools should come to some terms of standards when a new launch is involved but sadly i doubt it will ever happen. oh well moving on typical state of crypto. sad  but true.

The first 179 blocks went in seconds, seems to be on target since 200+. And the first 50 were 1 CLOAK so if he was instamining for coins, he probably got

1*50 + 129*496 = 64034CLOAK

@496/block we'd need 130 blocks to match his coins (if he got all 179)

Main feature of "Built in Anon via Exchanges " is when dev premines HUGE amount of coins and dump 'em on buy orders on exchanges, after that he leaves with poqqtes full of BTC in unknown direction, staying anonymous via exchange. It's my thoughts, maybe it's working other way.

We are working on a fix for this coin, and have been ever since the first pools notified us that they were getting orphans.

As pointed out before there were some lines of code that are causing conflicts with pools, but not from solo mining (which is why in testing we thought it was all good).

The code has been cleaned up and we have two pool operators with us in Skype and we are working with them to get a confirmation that Cloak is ok.

Rest assured.

The anonymity feature is being built by a different developer that was not involved in the coin building / cloning process.

This implementation of the exchange anon is still going to start on Wednesday.

Due to the haphazardness of this launch and the very high potential of an instamine situation from solo miners, we are going to do a full relaunch.

Testing with the pools will happen, prior to relaunch to avoid tonight's scenario!

Again, sincere apologies for this failed first attempt, it was not fun for anybody.

But now we must look forward to a fresh and fair start for CloakCoin, in the relaunch (hopefully, tomorrow at 20.30 BST)!

No, there is a new dev for the coin and he's decided to throw out the rotten / broken code and start again, forking from something clean and adding the x13 ago.

Then we have to test it on pools to make sure we don't get a repeat of yesterday's catastrophe.

Relaunch will happen soon but it won't be today.

Why would you be releasing a coin before creating the most fundamental feature of it?

In the OP it says the anonymity "will be implemented next week" which is now THIS week.

On a post yesterday it says that the dev is "going to start on wednesday".

So nothing has even been started, this coin is no more anonymous than any non-anonymous coin! Why are you releasing it?
Even if what you say about planning to have anonymity is genuine, and I don't believe it is, you have no idea if this will work because you haven't tested it!

All I can see is an incorrectly forked shitcoin which failed at launch because it didn't work properly!
