Hi deadley, our main goal is to build a large user base and that is why we plan to invest in attracting more traffic and liquidity.

Okay, so I am slightly confused on your site so far...

I often like to pick straight up matches Team A vs Team B and take say Team B to win.  I don't even see how you do that on your website?  Any help I put a ticket in with support and its been a week still haven't heard anything

Thanks!

Yes just check betfair and betdaq, they are best exchanges for fiat betting, but with bitcoins we dont have genuine excange. Nitrogensports also trying to build exchange so just keep eye on your competitor and do the necessary update and promo to attract new members.

Hi leex158, we have no tickets from you and our ticket system is 3 days old so I cant see how you had a ticket for a week?
Also you signed up on site 5days ago, not a week ago :)
As for the betting - exchanges are slightly different from traditional bookies, since there two options there - to back (bet for) or to lay (bet against) a certain outcome. The option you are searching for is "Back" and it is in the green box under each outcome. If there are odds in there, someone is laying the outcome and you can bet against him on the odds he is offering. If the box is empty, you can offer your own odds for someone to bet against :)
We will add a tutorial to the site within a day, that explains with screenshots how to place a bet.

Not sure what happened, but you guys definitely had an active ticket system last week, I tried to bet on the USA game to win, and on Sunday, I tried to bet on the game to Draw.  My ticket was at the site until Monday, so not really sure what happened.  Thanks for the quick response!

Bonus is sent. As for the withdrawals - there was a bug in the system and they shouldn't have been allowed, because you haven't met the 10X rollover requirement for the bonus. However, since it is our mistake, we just sent them.

You really need to show the full market to give some idea of quantities.
The amount of commission is also not clear. You say on the help page that it's 4%, but is that percent of net profits (like betfair), or percent of volume (like regular bookies).
Also your claim that "The juice is much lower – while bookies set it around 10-20%" is completely false and weird.

Title: Re: BETABIT.co.in - The Bitcoin Betting Exchange - Now in beta
Post by: BetaBit Support on June 28, 2014, 11:10:46 AM
Thank you for your feedback.
The commission is 4% from the net profits as in Betfair. As for the 10-20% stated - the only bookies with lower juice are Asian bookies like Pinacle and 188bet, the European bookies are working exactly in the 10-20% range.
As for the volumes - they are currently low, but we are still in beta and would like to fix possible bugs and issues on the site and then we will invest more in promotions and other means to attract users and increase liquidity.

Thanks for clearing that up. In any case even 10% is a bit exaggerated, but ok, it's hard to compare different methods of commission.
The main problem I have is not lack of volume but lack of knowledge of how much to bet. Is the lay that this guy offered for 0.0001bitcoin or 1bitcoin? I have no indication.
I'd also like to have an option of inputting an amount for my liability and having backer's stake calculated from it, rather than the other way around.

Hi,

Odds on Brazil vs Chile for draw is wrong. please check its showing 1.4-1.5.

I know I can take benefit of this but just want to help.

Normal odds must be above 4 for back.

Thanks for the remark, someone probably made a mistake. Since we do not want to directly interfere with user's bets, we will notify him, so he could cash out his bet, if he wishes so.

hey Betabit support

there is bug bet not executing properly, 1 guy want to back @1.5 and another guy want to lay @1.6 so it must be execute automatically.

I saw this first time in any exchange that lay odds lower then back odds.

Thank you for your report, there is no bug though. For some reason both bets are from the same user and this is the reason they are not matched.

We are currently investigating withdrawals, since there is an unreasonable number of withdrawals from 2 users, that seem to have found an issue and are trying to take advantage of it. That is the main reason for the delay, but be sure everything will be clear by the end of this week.
As for automatic withdrawals - we are not planning this to happen soon, but we are planning to process all withdrawals after manual approval within no more than 24 hours of the request, usually it should be within 2-3 hours.

We added today's Wimbledon final and we intend to slowly add more tennis, American sports, MMA :) We will add more details about the requested withdrawals, as we expected few users found a bug and tried to abuse instead of reporting it. I think this pretty much explains why withdrawals are not automatic and require approval.

Yes, these days so many scammer who try to abuse every opportunities, it's better till beta stage payout will be manual after that it must be automatic.

I like the idea behind the site but in all honesty the site is garbage.

I'm not a betting man most of the time, but i do like to throw in a few wagers from time to time.
Why cant the site be more simple ? I mean "win" "loose" and so on?

I tried to place a bet like 10 times on Germany winning vs Brazil but it just doesn't let me place it.

If you plan on running the site as it is, it will never have any success. People like it simple.

I also believe as they are doing its not working for them they need to settle things very quickly and I have few bets and after match I check then I realize these are still unmatched and I have nothing with result grading is also very slow

If you plan on running the site as it is, it will never have any success. People like it simple.
I also believe as they are doing its not working for them they need to settle things very quickly and I have few bets and after match I check then I realize these are still unmatched and I have nothing with result grading is also very slow

I don't understand what you mean? Do you mean you are technically not able to place bets, or you don't understand how it works?
If you don't understand how it works, that's too bad, because it's just a betting exchange and that is really a fundamental and simple concept (see Betfair).
Perhaps you should have a quick wiki read before you place bets.

I assume the main issue comes from the fact you expect the site to function as a traditional bookmaker, which is not the case. Try to read our info and tips section and you should be able to understand what's the difference to traditional bookies and how to place a bet, what is the difference between open and matched bet etc - https://betabit.co.in/info-and-tips (https://betabit.co.in/info-and-tips)

Most of peoples don't like to read rules and faq section and try to bet and in this process if they have some problem then they start to cry its garbage or failure just check its in beta mod and they are trying to fix all things which need some time

This is exactly the thing. Why would i need to read the faq section or tips when i enter a betting site. Having it built up as it is right now doesn't affect me one bit, as i will leave and take my money elsewhere.

It affects only the site owners as they are missing out on potential money. If they don't like profit, then that is on them.

I like the idea behind the site but in all honesty the site is garbage.

I'm not a betting man most of the time, but i do like to throw in a few wagers from time to time.

So let me tell everyone here a story.
First you got paid for taking a survey and did it trough multiple accounts, then we gave you bonus on site (that you must play 10times over before its available for withdrawal). You requested withdrawals before even playing, yet we approved it just to keep you happy.
Then you found a bug on our site and abused it in order to be able to request withdrawal for 5 times your balance. No intentions of reporting the bug, instead decided its good idea to give us bad PR here and complain? Complain we are not giving you the money you are trying to steal?

Also it was funny how you wanted 0.3BTC for your signature per month as this is what you are getting now.

Our policy in such cases will be to remove balance and disable promos and support on the account.

You want to play on a betting exchange while refusing to understand what a betting exchange is?
I admit, it does have a learning curve, but we are not the first to come up with this idea and we take pride in site UX and simplicity.

We understand educating newcomers will be important for our platform, we are working on an interactive tutorial and a video tutorial.
Another idea that we have been bouncing around is having a button which simply makes the "Lay" functionality invisible.
However just trashing on us here took you more time and effort than actually learning what is a betting exchange from a short article or video.

Telling Betfair they are idiots for building such a complicated "garbage" platform would be comical.
Thank you for your feedback.

Site is back up and I lost my bet. I meant to bet on Germany but somehow I didn't?  They need to make it easier to bet and know what exactly you are betting on! Every other sports betting site does this. So until they make some serious changes, fuck that site!  Using nitrogensports.eu.

No,no don't fuck it! This is a great concept, they may be better than betfair because they go bitcoin.Give them a chance. They need more traffic and more sport events, there is no affiliate program so we should share the url with friends, i added link to my website.I understand when i lose other bettor wins not the site. That's why they may not have money for promotion like big guys where your loses go to their pocket

We actually will invest in attracting more players and add more sports, but we still are in beta and our priority is the security of the site. Please, be patient, we've faced multiple attempts of abuse and want to be sure we are protected, before making a big marketing push. Btw, some of the abuse attempts come from people, that are complaining in this thread.

We will add interactive tutorial soon, but currently there is information in the bet slip, that states: Back (bet for) and Lay (bet against) the outcome you've chosen. The easiest way to recognize what's happening is to watch out for the colors - red means you are betting against the outcome and green means you are betting that it will happen.

That still wasn't helpful and I saw all that on the site. Still not helpful. If there are two teams playing in a foreign country then who is the home team and who is the away team? Green and red and home and away do not tell me which team I am betting on. I wanted to bet on Germany and I thought I did. Surprise, surprise! I didn't. Get it?

Well, pretty much what ctaltdefeat said - the team on the left is home team and the one on the right is the away team. And I guess 1 X 2 are pretty standard terms in sports betting.

I actually agree that it is a little confusing about who is being bet on.  Why can't you just make it really simple?  For instance put a 1, and 2, next to the team themselves so you know who you're betting on.  You don't need this lingering issue, I've seen this issue on other sportsbooks as well.

It's almost same in every exchange site, and not even confusing just new players who never bet on exchange need to see more clearly before bet.

This is not a sportsbook. This is a betting exchange. Betfair for the bitcoin community.

If you don't understand what a betting exchange is and aren't willing to put the time to learn that's fine.
If you want to give advice on how to make the interface better, while refusing to even learn what the concept is - that's trolling.

Imagine you did not know what bitcoin is, then went on forums and said "bitcoin thats way too complicated, will never catch on, Im not willing to learn how to use it or what it is!  You should make it better by hosting it on one single server in Panama and make it exactly the same value as the dollar to avoid crazy fluctuation!"

We will soon add the option to have a "bookie view" and hide all "lay" boxes, so the site will have the look of a traditional bookie for people who prefer it that way.

Today i tested lay option on Zrinjski - Maribor game.I lay bets on all 3 options 1x2. One of them (1) was matched and i won.Other two options (x2) were not matched. In my understanding when game starts, unmatched offers should be returned to account balance but they disappeared.
It looks like unmatched offers goes to your wallet. That's serious bug.Correct me if i'm wrong.

Hi,
the idea of a betting exchange in bitcoin is great. keep developping your website.

however, it seems there is a big limitation for the moment.  My unmatched bets dont appear in the market. for instance if i back   1 bitcoin the at 1.1 and i am match for 0.01, the remaining 0.99 unmatched  should appear in th lay at 1.1.  they simply never appear, even when i put a back in between the actual back and lay.

sorry for the poor explanation but i'm sure you understand my point.

is it due a bad design in you website or something else?

if you could solve this it will make the website more dynamic

Thanks

It's not a bug, its a feature. Others see your unmatched bet, you dont. You see theirs, they dont. You play against each other.

i thought it was a bug and never left any unmatched bets.

As stated before, there are withdrawals that are from players, who's balance should be 0. All other withdrawals have been paid, pls, write us through our support system.
All withdrawals that are legit, which means there are no suspicious stuff such as difference in balance etc (potential exploit attempts) will be paid within 24 hours max, most cases it will be for a much shorter time. Excuse for that waiting period, but we are still in beta and the risks are currently too high, since there are a number of attempts to hack the site, exploit bugs and stuff like that already. We are handling them well, but we don't want to rush things.

It will be based on bets, but we will also have a referral system soon. The referral system will be probably based on lifetime commission share, but we haven't decided yet.
The current loyalty program can be seen here (although it will be changed slightly soon) as also our other promotion - the monthly leader board, which is not active yet, but will be from the middle of August:

Today we will perform another maintenance, again between 23:00 and 01:00 GMT. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, the site will be down during that time.

There is a cashout button on the betslip but i think it would better to have edit button on betslip so we could modify odds and stakes fast and easy.Cashouts can be done from open bets tab

My support message from around a week ago, where I requested to have a bet from the 17th settled, has still not been dealt with.

Is football the only sport you offer?

We are trying to find the issue, it seems to be a very rare bug with the settlement. We will settle it today however and send you a compensation for the wait, very sorry about that.

xoomo - we will add more sports within 2-3 weeks, MLB and tennis for sure, we are considering also other options.

Thanks, what was worrying was the lack of communication for a few days, esp when a few people have reported withdrawals not coming out.

I agree, we'll try and do better. Sometimes a small team with many tasks ends up overlooking customer support in favor of some more urgent issue.
As we get close to launching officially such issues will be solved.

Yes, for sure, UFC and maybe Bellator, still debating that.
Should expect new sports before end of this month, as well as many other improvements that we'll post as changelog.

Looks like another shafting for me.
No website still, no response to FIVE emails and messages and the withdrawal I requested 36 hours ago hasn't arrived.
I fucking give up with these clowns.
Getting sick to death of people like this.

That sucks tony. I wish this site had been successful but no one was laying decent odds and if they were it was always an arb which means worse prices for the backers.

Tonyq your withdrawal request has been approved and paid. It was delayed only due to problems with hosting (bitcoin hostings suck).
So we gave you free 0.1BTC and delayed you few hours with your withdrawal. We thought we were going to be partners and did not expect such petty bickering.
I assume you dont want to work with clowns?

Both reliability of service(no outages @hosting) and liquidity(more betting players) will be improved soon. Please be patient, we are in Beta still.
We apologize for the offline time but we assure you that we are not scammers :)

A week without any contact is absolutely unacceptable.
There is a withdrawal pending on my account (someone hacked me) for a week now, which I would like to CANCEL (I sent a support message the same day).

OP was here yesterday (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=346709), but he has made no updates or replies to your questions.
Probably not the best way to run the site...

I agree with you last time active on 21 August and last post here on this forum 13 August if you are in beta version then you are going out of frame with this attitude with customers

How much you have on the site?

Around 0.4
It's weird because I think I was one of their few pretty active players and I think they put more effort into everything than to just scam for a bitcoin or two.

I would have used them more but found it a nuisance not being able to see  the price I'd layed on the interface.
