Yes, the whitepaper is updated. The part with the company is still in it and it will still support the coin, but will not be started from the funds of this coin. Statement regarding that coming soon.

Arch just paid the few people who bought in back via bittrex, looks like we shoulda trusted those devs eh? Maybe shouting scam at every coin is just plain dumb.

It might suit venture interest here, but I agree that calling everything a scam from minute one might scare developers to work on coins. Even on existing ones.

Pretty sure ICO stands for Intial Coin Offering (similar to IPO). So distribution is through coin sale instead of mining.

Where did you read this is a PoS coin ;)? Venture does not believe in the current PoS technology as a stable base to work on. Also PoS means inflation, which means the market gets flooded by new coins created out of thin air. We do not support that either.

How can it be full IPO (100% premine, I assume?) and not be PoS?

What does mining algo then have to do with anything if people don't get to mine?

Do you seriously expect transaction fees of a newly launched coin to be enough of an incentive to keep miners supporting the blockchain and keeping the network secure?

This insanity needs to stop! This ICO was originally listed at 10K satoshi or about $180,000.00 USD. For WHAT? Even at 5K satoshi this is a joke. Again, for WHAT?

These *devs* get on here an talk like they are doing you a favor by letting you hold a $180,000.00 USD bag while they flitter off to the Riviera with your girlfriend and their new Yacht. Who the hell are these people?

Hopefully, just hopefully the only good thing to come out of these preposterous shitcoin scams will be the community finally waking up and saying no more. No more ICO scams and no more BitScam exchange.

I said it in the Arch thread, and will say it here... if devs want to avoid all the negativity as far as exchange-run ICOs go, use Polo's rules.

Absolutely! But you do know the problem with that? They would actually have to be capable of delivering something other than the bad news that your BTC are gone. None of the BitScam ICOs meet that criteria.

I'm sure everyone has noticed that Polo has run zero ICOs (or they call them ICDs) after the instituted their new rules. Yet Bittrex has run several. Or tried to run several, I should say.

It's a lot easier for devs if they don't have to provide their real identities nor have to do stuff to get paid anything. I'm not even going to say this is a scam, or the devs won't be active, or any of that fuddy stuff.
For all we know they are on the level.

ICO devs are going for the big payout all at once, without providing their identities, nor any assurance they simply won't walk away from the coin.

They could provide these assurances by just offering their ICO on Polo instead. But they aren't. And that sort of tells you something right there.

Why the delay?
I will post a statement later on that will clear things up. Basically the delay happened because we were implementing TOR anon in the codebase and tested it out. The sources + wallets will be updated within the next 48hours. If you want to have a 3rd party code review about TOR anon and the rest, simply message Bittrex people to post a small statement here. They will clear things up for you if you are in doubts. Remember to follow @ventcoin on twitter :)

The problem with spread out funds is it doesn't offer any safeguard really. You may not be aware of past ICOs run on Bittrex, but DCM did that same exact thing. They spread their ICO money amongst 6 people, over 100 BTC.

They all vanished and took the money with them. They locked the coin's thread and I believe the coin is either delisted or about to be. Coin went from 10K+ to a couple hundred sats.

Again, I really think using Polo rules where an exchange holds the funds until the funds are used for what the devs say they will, and offering identification to the exchanges, would benefit both the exchange longterm, the devs running ICOs, and investors.

I agree to that. This still does not provide any safety for development funds or anything. My ID is known and posted in the whitepaper, you know how I look, you know what my name is. This is more than 95% of other DEV's or founders of a coin give away. The pressure is enough for me, to be fully open about those things.

The only thing I can guarantee is, I am alone, I have no intention to fool you with layouts and sick announcements like other coins. I have my business idea and thats it. Take it or leave it :).

I didn't see your whitepaper yet, so didn't know you listed your identity. That is actually more than I even asked, as I meant simply providing your identity to the exchanges.

As for Polo rules and safety of development funds, nothing is 100% safe. But it offers more safeguards than just handing over a giant sum of btc to any developer. Assuming I understand their rules correctly, devs only get funds when they need them, in order to do the things they stated they would. No giant lumpsum payouts and strict bookkeeping.

Of course an exchange could just walk away with the funds, lie, or do whatever with the btc, but assuming we trust them at least somewhat, it is a safer route in my opinion (at least for the investor), than seeing a dev just be handed 100+ BTC. And even if you think it's no safer than how Bittrex does it, the general impression to investors is it would be safer. Which then should increase those investing = more money for you and the exchange.

I was waiting for the coin's website, which I would assume have the whitepaper, rather than download some random file on my PC. Call me paranoid, but I typically like to minimize downloads from this site if at all possible. For most wallets and downloads I use a virtual machine, which I didn't have access to when replying to this thread (using my laptop at the time).

I also made no comments here as to the coin's specs or features, simply the ICO itself.

Yes. There is a solid calculation behind it. As I have announced in the whitepaper, we are not going to let "known crypto devs" (some of them are actually really good) work on it. But I have talked with most of them and they have evaluated how many hours an implementation for these software features would take: The numbers were not differing a lot. All the projects stated in the whitepaper require skills to pull off and take time. As announced, I want to bring in coders from the real world into crypto. Because our technology is not that developed and secure as we may think. You still notice: Hacks here, leaks there. This is poor coding craftmanship. Nothing else. So if you want something developed and something good, you have to pay the price. The ultimate price might be 20000$ or it might be 15000$. The estimation is just an estimation after calculating prognosed hours that need to be invested. Also please calculate that Europe (Germany in this case) has it's own bitcoin value to count on. A bitcoin here is  worth mere 450-480Euros. For german standards, this is nothing. So your said 18k$ are now worth 12k€. You have to live here for once or have the experience of valueing money slightly differently to understand the price in €.

You know guys, I will give this fellow the benefit of the doubt and not even call it a scam.

He is trying to get paid for at least working, and there are hard times out there. The problem is that no one asked for this work, there are 400+ other shitcoins already in existence to trade and improve, and the initial ICO listing at 10K sats was ludicrously ridiculous as is the one currently running at 5K sats. Put that on top of the last two ScamTrix ICOs and this lad didn't have a chance in hell, the coin had no other fate than stillborn.

His ICO is obviously going nowhere, there are about 5 buy orders and they are all for less than the ICO price. ScamTrix is going to have to refund those few BTCs and this all goes away. Not much of a scam, just horrible management and judgement.

The only chance now for this coin is lowering the ICO price to about 50 to 100 sats. Then at least there might be some upside for the traders. At 5K sats there is only one way the coin goes and that is the opposite of up.

People pay money to get promoted by ThisWeekscoin, so i don't think ThisWeekscoin care about what the coin is, they just want to receive their 0.50BTC for promotion and that is it. So nothing wrong with that one. I also have been promoting coins that went the other way, so does that mean that i'm a scammer too? People need to do some investigation before investing in coins.

For example, i like Ethancoin and B2B coin as IPO investors, and i tell my friends to invest in those coins, if it goes wrong then it is because of DEV and not because of my promotions.
