What's smart about this coin is that it's flying under the radar, but still managed to grab some interest, and is going to create some interesting confusion when it hits exchanges, which it will. Hell, even the joke that was bumbacoin hit exchanges. Lol!

Suppose it hits some lowbie exchanges in a week or two with a lame 20k market cap, hypothetically. Well, lets think about that. There's something like 25k coins now, in two weeks there'll be 14 (days) * 24 (hours) * 60 (minutes) * 4 (coins) + the 25,000 is that there already are. Great. So what's that add up to? Oh, about 105,640 coins. What's a 20k market cap on 105k coins? About $0.19, or 34k satoshis (0.00034btc)

People are going to look at 34k sats on this silly little coin, say wtf, and dash off to try mining it. Of course the market will happily absorb the silly 5760 coins per day that actually get produced. Meanwhile, somewhere in the silly hubub, someone's going to realize that the cap is low, scoop up the coins that miners are dumping, and give the old girl some trading action, and pump the girl.

It's even sillier if the coin gets added to exchanges in less than 2 weeks. Trader's minds are so warped by the pow/pos coins out there, they'll think it's hyper valuable because it carries such a high pricetag for it's '1.2m coins' when there's nowhere near that many. There'll be half that in 3 1/2 months when the rewards halve. Bagholders will hold the price up, and a community will develop, funny memes will follow, etc. etc.

So yeah, I'm mining Miley's atm. It's probably going to be a waste of time, but who knows. I needed a laugh anyway.

Honestly, no exchange will touch this out of fear of being sued.  If you recall, with coinye even the exchanges got sued. The dev may have nothing to lose but an exchange surely will.

GAW miners black widow, around 13.5 MHs.  Have a second one I got on oneminer.com for the low low price of 350$.  Havent even bothered to power it up yet because there is nothing worth mining.  There is a gridseed blade somewhere around here too.

Why is the http://gc-pool.ddns.net/miley/public/ pool have more Pool Hash than the Network Hash? Is this an error? If it's not an error, is MCC going to have a 51% attack? Or in this case, a 100% attack? Not sure on the finer points of the attacks, but yeah... I know it's good to separate hashing power, at least.

the fact that it's on a pool makes it safer than if it's a single individual. The pool itself would have to attack the coin, and if that's the case it'll show up in the block explorer.

This early in the game, with no block explorer, and no exchanges, it isn't that big of a problem, but once it does hit exchanges you're absolutely right we need to spread that hash out, because then there'll actually be some value to the coin and an incentive to actually attempt something like that.

That's why I'm continuously mining this coin since launch, I have a feeling that this is going to be huge if Miley surprisingly endorses MCC.  ;D

If everyone's running on the same pool, then basically you don't have to worry about a fork. The fork issue happens when you get two competing pools that aren't confirming each other's transactions. A big deal for sure, but there's only two dang pools right now. It's impossible for one of them to not have more than 50% of the hashrate, so until someone gets off their lazy butts and gets pools added so that there's 3+ pools to spread hashrates around on to prevent forking, or someone sets up a p2pool, then everyone's just better off mining at the same pool. Yes, that means mining at the other pool can create a fork, but you can't really prevent that issue when there's only two damn pools.

It's the same concept as voting. Vote on anything with two people voting and any disagreement ends in a stalemate. Add a third person voting, and suddenly that's not an issue, because at least two people have to agree. Same in crypto, if you've got at least 3 mining pools, and no pool has more than 50% of the hashrate, then forking is far less of a problem. But with only two pools, trying to balance the hashrate would actually cause a fork, not prevent one, because there's no authority to sort out the differences and say which chain is the authoritative one.

I hope Miley endorses the coin, because I believe it could bring a lot of fresh young blood into cryptos for the future, but if you have hope of all this happening, you need to self police this thread in the hopes her lawyers don't take you down. That being said, at 4 coins per block, each coin better have a very high value to make mining profitable.

That explains a little bit. Wallet was compiled without upnp, so pretty much only servers can be connected to. No one running the wallet behind a firewall can.

If dev can recompile the wallet with upnp then we'll be able to connect to eachother. Until then, we'll have to depend on pools, nodes, explorers, exchanges etc. for nodes.

Alright, I put the girl on life support with some reasonably decent hash so transactions will process normally.

The dev needs to step up though and clean up the coin a bit though. It needs to have its source on github if its going to be taken even the slightest bit seriously. Also, the coin daemon compiles to become litecoind. That needs to be fixed too. Need to get at least one pool back up, I can't solo this forever.

I'll mine it out for a day to keep the network up. But if nothing's done by tomorrow I gotta pull. Sorry.

What's that mean? It means there's a shit ton of viruses out there that use miners to make money off your computer, and one of the many many ways they get flagged is with "Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT".

Btw, if you google "Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT lavasoft" you'll start to get an idea why GENERIC is there. Because there's lots of different viruses that just get chucked under the Generic!BT umbrella. Not just the poison one you happened to find and site here, which hasn't got a damn thing to do with the miner one being detected here.

Most coin related hits have been removed from major av tools. That's why ONLY 5 out of 52 av tools used by virus total detect malware here, most of which list the real culprit 'BitcoinMiner', which is EXPECTED.

Seriously, do your research properly next time. This is something that we've been dealing with in altcoins for a long, LONG, time.

An earlier post claims MCC Wallet affects computer mouse and therefore could truly have virus. If this is true the MCC should be rebuilt without the problem. If it's true.

What I hear is the long standing issue with almost all wallets triggering virus alerts on those scan sites. This is a long standing problem and probably due to untrusted or malfunctioning report clients participating.

Most coins these days just eliminate the problem by removing the ability to mine coins directly from your wallet. That function is in MCC though, so a few AV's are flagging it.

The whole  mouse moving thing is ridiculous though. No serious virus moves your mouse. I've had the mouse moving issue before myself. There's a number of possible reasons for that, and none of them are 'virus'. Does your friend use a laptop? Did they accidentally enable mouse keys? Do they use an optical mouse? Do they have mouse software installed?

Has ANYONE else had a moving mouse issue suddenly crop up after running MCC. Not me, and I've had the client running a lot, at one point I think I might have been the only one in fact.

Need a better logo. The ones so far aren't really all that great, but all are better than what's had already. LoL.

There's some other things that need to be sorted out as well, like the linux daemon needs to not compile into litecoind, for example (/facepalm), and the qt wallet really needs to be updated to use the latest version of openssl and have upnp support so we can all connect to eachother. Some new nodes would be handy as well, and there *needs* to be a block explorer.

That's all bare minimum stuff to get anywhere at all here. There's exactly two nodes people can connect to atm, one's the official node, and the other is the exchange. That's it, unless you're not behind a firewall or haven't opened the necessary ports manually yourself.

Ok, look, there's a lot of major issues with MCC that need to be addressed. Lots. I've pointed them out several times. Github. Nodes. Block Explorer. More pools. Recompile with latest openssl & upnp. Logo. Makefiles need to make mccoind or something like that, not litecoind.

Just thoughts. Honestly... I think 'MileyCyrusCoin' is both too long, and actually holding this coin back instead of thrusting it forward. It should actually be dead, given that, but a community seems to be growing around the girl here, and people seem to want to get serious about it, but I just don't see how it can work with the legal baggage. Fwiw I like the reasonably limited number of coins and extremely conservative mint distribution. I think this could be turned into something wicked cool. But sadly, the 'MileyCyrus' angle needs to be toned back to ambiguity unless someone can actually get her consent, if not her endorsement.

my node is more then a few hours behind now. I've tried rebooting but it seems there is no source for new blocks.

Dev: can you please fix the connection issues between wallets? Right now people can only connect to me if they manually add the node. People would ideally mesh their wallets to get the biggest amount of randomness.

If you can not fix this within 7d I think I will pull down my node. I will return the donations I received for running it.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. It probably could have been salvaged if there had been more support from exchanges/willingness to budge on name, but without a mining pool the coin is dead. Sad but true.

INSTRUCTIONS TO SOLOMINE

find the file coin.conf, its in the same folder as mileycyruscoin-qt.exe, edit it in notepad to contain the following, then restart the wallet


to configure your mining software, you just replace the pool details with localhost:6969 and your username and password.

example bat file to mine with cgminer (put this on a .bat file in your cgminer folder)
