At only 3.20 BTC it seems to be very profitable, much more profitable than the S3

It is Innosilicon who refuse to lower the chip price.
No manufacturer is going to use 40 chips per 1 Terahash.
Beside of that, A1 chips using 600 watt per 1T is impossible, even with 40 chips.

Its not a 5TH but you we are somewhat notorious on this forum, and we're a known company that several people do not trust but we are regaining and building the communities trust everyday. Deliveries for orders placed before the Tuesday 19th can be shipped on Friday the 22nd. This is a 3 day build to order product. We receive your funds, we assemble your miner, we ship. Come on.. your basing that on the value of BTC in this very moment, its not a valid argument. You asked for something comparable with S3, that's comparable with 2 x S3's. And it's rack mountable, meaning that you can send it out to all those Colo's now offering miner hosting at 6 cents per kw instead of hosting it in your home. You can't send an S3 to one of those places, colo's mostly work with racks not shelves.

Cgminer is under GPLv3 license, terms of which include the requirement for all the source code for any modifications to the software to be made publicly available. Every legitimate asic manufacturer is doing this - aside from bitmaintech and anyone who bought or licensed innosilicon's design. I've heard from a few of these manufacturers who claim they were never provided source code, just an RPI disk image. I tend to believe them.
