Title: Cryptowatch - real-time charts and personalized trading analysis
Post by: carl_sagan on August 24, 2014, 02:39:09 PM
Cryptowatch
https://cryptowat.ch/ (https://cryptowat.ch/)

Cryptowatch is a real-time market visualization tool that can customize its interface around your trades.

https://i.imgur.com/tHXevRF.png

After 7 months of development, we are considering it to be in a stable "1.0" state with a full feature set:

Features
  • Standard OHLC candle chart for 1min, 3min, 5min, 15min, 30min, 1hr, 2hr, 4hr, 6hr, 12hr, 1day, 3day, 1week intervals
  • RSI and MACD indicators
  • Keltner Channel, Parabolic SAR, and EMA overlays
  • Multiple dark and light background themes
  • Ability to zoom in (+, -, and 0 keys)
  • Live ticker navigation which shows real-time price of the coin you are viewing on all available exchanges
  • iPad-friendly layout with support for dragging the chart and pinching to zoom: https://i.imgur.com/HODBinB.png
  • Option to convert all fiat prices into USD, EUR, CNY, or CAD (exchange rates updated hourly from Yahoo! Finance)
  • Fullscreen mode
  • Overlay of your trades on the price chart
  • Calculation and comparison of your last trade vs. the current market price
  • 中国翻译: https://cryptowatch.cn

Exchanges
  • Bitfinex: https://cryptowat.ch/bitfinex/
  • Bitstamp: https://cryptowat.ch/bitstamp/
  • BTC-e: https://cryptowat.ch/btce/
  • OKCoin: https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/
  • BTC China: https://cryptowat.ch/btc-china/
  • Huobi: https://cryptowat.ch/huobi/
  • Kraken: https://cryptowat.ch/kraken/
  • Vault of Satoshi: https://cryptowat.ch/vault-of-satoshi/

Currency pairs
  • BTCUSD: https://cryptowat.ch/bitfinex/btcusd/
  • BTCCNY: https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btccny/
  • BTCEUR: https://cryptowat.ch/kraken/btceur/
  • BTCCAD: https://cryptowat.ch/vault-of-satoshi/btccad/

  • EURDOGE: https://cryptowat.ch/kraken/eurdoge/

User accounts
  • Create an account: https://cryptowat.ch/account/create/
  • Manage your account: https://cryptowat.ch/account/manage/
  • Login: https://cryptowat.ch/account/login/
  • Reset password: https://cryptowat.ch/account/recover-password/

Personalization
The killer app is the personalized interface. Currently it is possible to connect to your BTC-e or Bitfinex accounts using an API key and visualize how you are doing in real time. For example, here is a view of a long-term bear with an unrealized 18% profit. The y-axis shows that the last trade was a sell at $611, and it is showing that relative to the current price of $498. This is the newest feature and will improve significantly over time.

https://i.imgur.com/mdQuIX2.png

Another screenshot of an unrealized short-term loss on Bitfinex:

https://i.imgur.com/FTMeets.png

For those who make accounts and supply API keys, in addition to these personal visualizations there will also soon be an actual trading UI, enabling you to execute trades from within the same interface.

Product roadmap
  • Personalization support for more exchanges (currently supports BTC-e and Bitfinex)
  • More thorough personal trading performance reports and visualizations (average profit, lifetime profit, etc) sent via email and/or viewed on the web
  • Email and SMS price/volume/technical indicator based alerts
  • 2-factor authentication
  • Trade execution interface

Other ideas
  • Setting up trades to be triggered based on specific criteria (MACD crossover, SAR switch, price breaking a threshold, etc; a less passive version of alerts)
  • GUI for configuring and running an automated trading bot
  • Trade execution via SMS or email (for dire situations)

Feedback and bug reports welcome
The software is in a good state but there are certainly edge cases and imperfections that have not been fully considered. All feedback, feature requests, and bug reports are welcome in this thread or privately at admin@cryptowat.ch.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy the software.

If you watch the red circle, you'll see that in the timeframe who have 2 digits, the CSS breaks (The 3 bar symbol is not in alignment with the text).

This happen in Linux.
  • Chromium Version 36.0.1985.125 Ubuntu 14.04 (283153)

Funny you mention that, because we just deployed a big update that adds all of this.

Cryptowatch can now render OHLC, Heiken-Ashi, Bar, or Line. It also lets you completely customize indicators and overlays such as MACD, RSI, EMAs, Ichimoku cloud, Keltner Channel, and Aroon.

Hi

you've made an awesome tool, many thanks for that, have been using it since april, didn't check the whole summer and i'm now impressed by the progress

I've noticed a bug in the current version:

the price trend triangles in the upper left corner are all stuck in one direction, either green/rising or red/falling no matter what is actually happening to the price. Sometimes they are all green for the whole day, sometimes red. The background also blinks one colour no matter which direction the price is moving. Same is happening to the main price indicator in the ask/bid part in the upper right. All other indicators seem to be working fine.

Safari 7.0.6 (also tried Chrome, the bug seems to be there)
OSX 10.9.4

Hope this helps

Hi, thanks for the input. The coloration of those is actually based on the 24hr periods, eg if the price on an exchange has moved up in the current 24hr period it will always be green. I agree that this is confusing, and is being addressed in the next interface update.

Thanks again for the feedback. Glad you are finding the tool useful.

No problem, we deployed an update that fixes this. Firefox implements that API in their own way...

Thanks for explaining, indeed seeing the instant price change is more usefull for me, but as long as there might be users who prefer 24 hours trend or other, maybe its better to have this as a personal setting? Just a thought...

And one more question if you don't mind: when do you plan to include Kraken API compatibility?

Thanks

Hello,
Thank you for the wonderful chart, it uses much less resources than btcwisdom.

I have a few suggestions.
- Option to hide the exchange bar on the left, or at least condense it.
- Ability to zoom in and out on the order books.
- Option to to set price alarms.

Thanks again, I will send a tip!

We are releasing a big UI update soon which actually hides the left navigation by default, making the chart a lot bigger. As for the other two requests, they are in the pipeline but not top priority right now.

Thanks for the feedback.

Currently the list of pending additions are:
1. LakeBTC
2. CEX.IO
3. Mintpal
4. OKCoin intl.

However, dev effort is currently not focused there but on improving the service for our registered users; we are building in a trading interface. Will post an update here when it is out. Once that happens, we will continue to expand to other exchanges.

Glad you like it. We just deployed it and we're very happy with it. I came here to post a screenshot as a minor announcement.

This was done as a prerequisite for the next big feature we are developing: a unified trading interface via private exchange APIs. Much of the backend is already built, there is just some interface work to finish. We needed to redesign the layout for this feature anyway, so we thought we would ship what we had today as an intermediary step.

More soon.

Do you think we could get a feature that mimics this site ( https://hypron.net/bitcoinwisdom/ ) but using cryptowat.ch instead of bitcoin wisdom?

Is there a way I can access the old layout?

Or can you please make a page with just the old sidebar code?  I was basically just using the left side of the old page to quickly see all the exchanges at once.  It was nice to have all that data in a single spot.  I also really liked the way it was laid out in a single column format.  :)
Many thanks.

Great site, starting to replace BitcoinWisdom for me for when I want to watch my bot's real-time interaction with the market.

Any chance on adding the TH1BTC derivative on Bitfinex? This should be as simple as adding another string to a symbols array, it's modular in their API.

We hid it because people mostly weren't using it. You can still get the same thing via the navigation: hover over the exchange name in the header. It's actually more condensed and nicely laid out than the old sidebar, but right now there is no way to leave it open permanently. We are thinking of solutions to that because we realize some people want it always visible.

Yeah, we had reimplemented that chart and were anxious to ship the entire update, so we decided to put off re-implementing the crosshair. We will add it back.

Hey Crpyotwatch,

Absolutely love the new streamlined interface, just dropped wisdom.

2 things though... can you add on OKCoin International Futures charts (Bitcoinwisdom doesn't have them and I know alot of people really want them) .. and also drawing tools.

Regarding the OKCoin International Futures, tweet Zane here: https://twitter.com/OKCoinBTC - if you need any info / feed data..etc

Flibbr

Already have Zane's email. Was planning to add OKCoin intl soon. Glad you like the update.

It would be easy. We are going to add more BFX markets, and will look into including TH1. It doesn't really fit in with the rest of the site which is all currencies.

Hey Crypto Watch...

Few things..

1) DO you come on tradingview.com ?

2) Do you have a twitter ?

3) Feedback from the people I've spoken to is they love the automatic CNY/USD conversion with pricing.. and they love the Heikenashi candles also... and the ichi... BUT... whats stopping me and others moving over its you can only set 3 emas.. and we need 4... .can you please add an extra ema.. I know its petiti but it means the difference between using your site and not...

4) OKCoin futures charts... please, if you add them, we will use your site.. no other site has these charts.. if you speak to Zane, It might be possible for you be the official 'supplier' for the on-okcoin-site charting provider.. given their current bitcoinwisdom-rip 'chart' page is absolutely dog shit.. definitely scope for you there...

5) Also.. drawing tools ?

Thanks for the input.

1. I don't know what you mean.
2. Not yet, might set one up soon.
3. Glad to hear people like all those features. Adding a fourth EMA is trivial. We'll add it very soon and respond again when it's live.
4. OKCoin futures is getting so many requests we will probably add that one next. I did speak with Zane before about doing exactly that, and he didn't show much interest. Maybe with the latest updates to the site they will finally see the light.

https://www.okcoin.cn/about/vip.do (https://www.okcoin.cn/about/vip.do) Chinese exchange (CNY)

Added OKCoin International. It was easy because the API is the same as the original OKCoin China API.

https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin-intl/btcusd/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin-intl/btcusd/)
https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin-intl/ltcusd/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin-intl/ltcusd/)

It will take some time to build up the historical charts, but all the live feeds are there and working.

Can't add OKCoin Futures though because their API is returning an error ("errorCode 20006").

I'm not planning to add a feature like that any time soon, but it's easy to hack together using iframes. Hypron has done it already: https://hypron.net/cryptowatch/ (https://hypron.net/cryptowatch/)

Hi, I would like to say I appreciate your effort into improving your site. Personally I find yours better than bitcoinwisdom. Your chart seems to update faster. On improvements, I can think of the following:

  • Horizontal Date Bar - Visually easy to see a timeline of the chart
  • Show value when hovering on indicators and volume chart
  • Drawing - Line, Fib, etc... (This would probably take time to implement if coded from scratch I guess)

More power to your site. Also a good idea to add your btc address for donation

Thanks for writing. All three of those features are high on our list, so it seems we agree :) We will get to them as well as adding more exchanges once the next release is out (a trading interface for registered users).

Cheers

That's awesome to hear! I was just about to write a custom chart to see my trades of my trade bot but having your chart pinpoint these trades is just what I need :) Just a thought, wouldn't it be great to have like a public (readonly) chart to your trades to show to others? I don't think this has been done by others.

Example:
cryptowat.ch/[generated-short-code]/ opens to something like this (https://i.imgur.com/m8dyE3E.png)

You would get this short code or link on your preferences on each exchange.. Just something to think about :)

This is would be an easy way to show off your trades to others :D

Your idea of sharing trades is a good one. I see people Microsoft-painting their trades on top of screenshots of wisdom way too often. I think instead of shortlinks, I will just let people have profiles where they can pubish their trading on certain markets. (For example, cryptowat.ch/trader/usernam3/ would show the markets you have chosen to publish, like Bitfinex/BTCUSD.

And yeah, you can view your bot's trading now if it's running on BTC-e or Bitfinex. You just have to supply your API keys. And more exchanges will be supported in the near future.

Hey carl_sagan,

I just spoke to Zane at OKCoin.. and he said you emailed him saying you can't recreate the error right now ?
Does this mean that OKCoin futures contracts charts will be coming to cryptowat.ch ?

Hey - yeah, it looks like they fixed their stuff. I can add OKCoin LTC/BTC Futures sometime this week.

Hi, is there a way to set simple moving averages (not exponential)? just for notice, when MACD oscillator is bellow zero it is bold and hollow (depending on change), but when it is  green it is always hollow.

No simple moving averages right now, sorry. When we get around to adding new indictors we can add SMA pretty easily.

Regarding the MACD histogram, you're right, that was broken recently. Fixed it. Thanks.

Daily time frame doesn't seem to be working on any exchange on chrome atm..

Any update on OKCoin BTC futures (weekly/biweekly/monthly/quarterly etc) ?

https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btcusd-weekly-futures/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btcusd-weekly-futures/)
https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btcusd-biweekly-futures/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btcusd-biweekly-futures/)
https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btcusd-monthly-futures/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btcusd-monthly-futures/)
https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btcusd-quarterly-futures/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/btcusd-quarterly-futures/)

https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/ltcusd-weekly-futures/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/ltcusd-weekly-futures/)
https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/ltcusd-biweekly-futures/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/ltcusd-biweekly-futures/)
https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/ltcusd-monthly-futures/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/ltcusd-monthly-futures/)
https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/ltcusd-quarterly-futures/ (https://cryptowat.ch/okcoin/ltcusd-quarterly-futures/)

Their API only gives 5 bids and asks for those markets, which is really stupid. I emailed Zane asking him to get that fixed.

Here is what I mean:
Futures API (showing only 5 bids & asks): https://www.okcoin.com/api/v1/future_depth.do?symbol=btc_usd&contract_type=this_week
Regular market API, same version (showing a lot more depth): https://www.okcoin.com/api/v1/depth.do?symbol=btc_usd

I don't know what to do about it except complain to Zane. Hopefully they will update that endpoint to return more data.

Hey Artur,

Excellent work on the OKcoin futures charts. Really nice work. You wouldn't believe how happy I.. and no doubt other futures traders will be now we have decent charts to watch.

We have just stuck a post on /r/BitcoinMarkets about it here:   http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/2lswb9/okcoin_futures_charts_now_on_cryptowatch/

One thing, tried viewing it on my mobile and it doesn't render properly, the right login box basically consumes the whole page, is there anyway to fix the site so it loads/ works well on mobile devices also ?

I know... we are a demanding bunch :-)

Thanks Artur

Hah, yeah, a mobile version will be a lot of work. Not planning to do that for a while. I still have to finish the trading system, that's the next area of focus.

Glad you like it though. Cheers mate.

Love the site and I have been using it all week! It really is beautiful :)

Some suggestions:
-When viewing prices in USD on exchanges with CNY/BTC exchange rate, the price ticks (on the y-axis) are spaced too close together and overlap.
-Any chance of being able to have a small panel or row with the current price across exchanges? Kind of like in the chart selection menu but in a single row or something like this.
-Date/time markers on the x-axis would be nice.

EDIT:
Another thing that would be really nice is a separate page or panel with customizable market depth and the ability to view combined depth across exchanges. That would be especially useful during something like the madness that happened tonight.

You're right, there was a bug with that feature. Thanks. I fixed it.

I am wary of cluttering the interface. In the future I want to make everything more customizable/modular, so something like this can be an option. However I don't want to mandate it before I am able to do that.

-Date/time markers on the x-axis would be nice.

There is an x-axis with date/time markers... shipped this recently. Can you clarify what you think is missing?

EDIT:

There is a lot of demand for mutli-exchange dashboards, and I am still thinking about the right way to do this. There are a lot of possible designs/use cases. I do plan on exploring this in the future, but for now I am still working on getting the single-exchange charting interface to be the best available. After that, I will branch out.

Thanks for the feedback & bug reports.

And a suggestion:
  can you add

to your page? In that way i can run your site almost like an application on my tablet, that would be perfect!

Anyway, good job!

Hey thanks. That was fast :)

Here is a screenshot of the glitch, I was mistaken, however: it is over the bids and not the trade history.
I was able to reproduce it on the desktop by messing with the window size.
It is only present at very high width/height ratios.

Ah, right, the layout breaks down when you have a viewport shorter than a certain height. I need to handle that more gracefully. Thanks for the feedback.

I second this.  I still have to have wisdom open for the alarms too.  Also, I think the orderbook depth chart would be more useful if it was flipped horizontally and sync'd with the price axis like wisdom.  It is really helpful to visually see where the walls are.

Wisdom's depth chart is also vertical, but I do understand the point about seeing where the walls are. The depth chart is going to be improved soon, hopefully those improvements address this need.

When alarms do get implemented, how are you interested in receiving them? Currently the plan is to support in-browser alarms like Wisdom, but also the option to receive them via SMS & email for when you are afk. Can you think of other channels you would want to receive alarms through?

Safari has a neat feature of sending notifications from the website even if its closed using some sort of push, this would be cool. Also push on iOS would be good, but not sure if you can send them without having an app.

In the next month you can expect to see API integration with both Bitstamp and Kraken.

Any update on this?

That had to be deferred for the time being unfortunately. I don't want to give another incorrect estimate, but the next area of focus for us is adding a trading interface. It makes a lot of sense to revisit adding Kraken and Bitstamp support when that's being worked on.

Yeah, we are aware that it's a bit laggier now. We're going to see if we can optimize it somehow, and if not we'll change how we fill in the cloud to be less CPU-intensive. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey Artur,

Great work on the site.. Heres a few suggestions (excluding drawing tools of course!)

#1) When you put the cross hairs over the volume at the bottom... need the volume value to come up on the right hand side... this is important because volume is an important metric to look at etc..

#2) The other one is about slimming down the wasted column along side the order book visualisation (BTW~ Good work on putting the order book counter/values thingy back on the visualisation tool)..

Hopefully this image will be self explanatory..

https://i.imgur.com/sVEtS4S.png

Seconded!

Flibbr's suggestion ignores that fact that the "wasted column" also labels the walls in the depth chart. Since the y-axes for the price chart and depth chart don't line up, you can't really merge the two.

Awesome job so far! Can't wait for integrated trading (especially for OKCoin futures). Also would love to have multiple charts on one page...multiple exchanges would be ideal, but even just multiple timeframes from the same exchange would be beneficial. While I'm wishing for things, stochastics would be great too.

On your candlestick charts, it seems every candle open is exactly the same as the previous candle's close. Shouldn't it be the first trade that takes place in that candle's time? Sometimes there are gaps between the last traded price in one candle and the first traded price in the next candle, but your charts don't show that.

Thanks for working on this and listening to your users!

Integrated trading is being developed right now, and there will be a private testing group in the next month or two. I'll send an email about that to the user base so make an account if you want to be part of that group.

I designed it to work that way because I assumed what you describe was developed for the traditional financial markets which opened and closed every day, and therefore didn't always have a continuous seam of trading between each candle. Perhaps my take on it is traditionally wrong.

Do you find that to be a flaw? I recently bought a book about Japanese candlesticks and I'm realizing that sometimes analysis of candlesticks involves these gaps between close/open prices, so I'm not too sure myself anymore. It would be easy logic to change if I wanted to, but not retroactively; a lot of my historical data would still have this characteristic.

Let me know what you think, it's been on my mind lately.

I suppose the gaps are typically a lot larger when a market closes overnight, but that method is used on all charts in the financial world, regardless of timeframe. In a fast moving or illiquid market, there may be gaps even on 1-minute candles. By treating the first trade in that time period as the open of the candle it gives an accurate picture of the true range that traded for that candle.

Right-click anywhere to delete them newest-to-oldest. You can also right-click on the lines' points to delete them in any order.

For comparison, BitcoinWisdom offers both "CandleStick" and "CandleStickHLC". The former counts the first trade in the period as the open, and the latter uses the previous period's close.

Site is really good, and I'm 100% using only this one now. Just one thing, could it be possible to disable the green and red points if needed (buying and selling) because although they are really nice and informative on lower time frame, when we start going to 4h or 1 day time frame the graph is overwhelmed and difficult to see the candlesticks.
Other than that, loving the TA tools and everything, well done ;)

There's a pending update that will allow you to toggle your trades on the chart, for this exact reason. Also looking into designs that handle clustering better on long-term time frames when you do have them enabled.

I'll post a reply here when that update is live.

Thanks for the feedback.

Still getting choppy artifacts with the new ichi cloud. The old rendering method worked great, what reason is there not to revert?

Thanks again for your great work with this chart.

Hadn't reverted it because the new version has the multi-colored cloud, and the old version didn't. I deployed a small change that should make it render a lot faster, lmk if you still have problems.

Hey Artur,

Just heard BitMEX ( who? right... ) well. they are this new futures exchange, about to release a brand new tradable product for bitcoin.

It is a Historical Volatility Index...

Main thing worth mentioning is that this new and unique to bitcoin, people will be interested in trading it.. they will need to go to a site that provides charts for this... this will be another good opportunity for you to get the leg up on bitcoin wisdom and increase your current brand profile as someone moving first in the space vs bitcoinwisdom.

http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/2qo5f6/just_heard_bitmex_will_be_releasing_a_historical/

This is his user account if you wanted to send him a pm to get the intel on early;

http://www.reddit.com/user/bitmexdotcom

I exchanged emails with them weeks ago... they said they'd make some API changes to enable me to add them to the service but they never got back to me. I don't know what they're doing.

Do you have plan to implement any of the following?
  • horizontal lines
  • lines with extended side (one or both)
  • a way of selecting items for deletion rather than use a stack

The UI is really clean and tidy, unlike some competitor. Please keep it that way.

Congrats for the good work.

Yeah, I plan on adding guidelines and rays. Selective deletion is already implemented: as you may have noticed you can hover over a drawing element's points and drag them around - just right click on them to delete the element they belong to.

I'm not able to do that on either Chrome, Safari or FireFox. I'm assuming that the tool to select is the crosshair, since I couldn't see a "no tool" mode.

Since we're talking wishlist I'd add
  • parallel channel tool, pretty much like the line tool
  • the ability to unlock price axis and keep it fixed, rather than auto adjust

Also the albuquerque theme has the active tool very little noticeable, in the dark themes it's much easier to spot which tool is currently selected.

Again, the work is very nice, keep the UI this sleek!

To manipulate the drawing points you use any tool except the crosshair (any of the drawing tools). I did that because the crosshair is used to drag the chart, and it would be annoying to accidentally drag your drawings around sometimes when trying to drag the chart.

I like your other suggestions. Consider them on the list. And I'll take a look at the Albuquerque theme.

Thanks for the input.

Hey, just a note that I've updated the logic to start recording open prices the way you suggested. It doesn't make sense to count the price of the last trade in the previous interval as the open price, when I'm not counting it towards the volume.

You can't really tell the difference unless you're viewing 1/3/5/15 min charts, but I'm glad to have it drawing candles in the more conventional way.

Could you please fix the time & sales display? Repeated trades on the same price always show up as green even if they were on the bid. But they should be only green when on the ask and red when on the bid.

The logic is: red = price is lower than the last trade, green = price is higher. But you're right, trades at a repeated price should stay the same color, but they are all green. I swear I thought I fixed that last week...

Anyway, pushed a change which fixes that. Repeated prices now maintain the color of the previous trade (red or green).

Thanks for saying something.

Hi again and thanks for the awesome updates. Can't wait to see the trading interface.

Small problem here with apple magic mouse, as you probably know, this mouse does not have a whell, but a touch surface with scrolling ability in any direction, while extremely handy when viewing large images etc., it turns into a nightmare on cryptowatch: i try to scroll left or right on the graph, and as I'm a human, not a robot, I can't do it in a perfectly straight line, so in many cases zoom scroll is also activated and I get in a different view of the graph without willing to. This also has something to do with this mouse's vertical scroll sensetivity: while ok on the webpages it was zooming crazy-fast on google maps for example, one little swipe and you are at maximum or minimum zoom level, eventually google did something to it, its ok now.

So the question is, can you do something to reduce vertical scroll sensitivity of magic mouse while the cursor is over the graph, in case this is too complicated maybe you can just add an option to disable mouswheel zoom? The + an - buttons are still there anyways.

Would be glad to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks!

Those indicators are based on the 24 hour change (not very obvious, but less noisy than constantly flickering red/green tickers)

For now it's only limit orders on the "exchange" trading, not margin. We need to add an option to switch to margin mode.

It will be great if you can add at the top (or bottom) prices from few other major exchanges.
Name, then signal "^" or "v" in green or red and price.

For example:
Bitfinex   v 254.68   |  Bitstamp    ^ 245.55   |

Tool is very useful and this can be an idea for improvement.

We don't plan on doing this, but you can get quick access to all prices by hitting "M" to open the market dropdown.

Awesome site.  I use cryptowat.ch very frequently.
I'm not sure what the issue is maybe you can help me with this.  Sometimes the time and sales, and the depth of market streaming just freezes and nothing happens.  This happens alot with the okcoin.cn market data and I usually toggle to other markets and wait for the data to resume.  Is this something on my end I can improve on?  If anyone has any suggestion please let me know.  I have CPU running at 50 percent for this site alone.

Our connection to OKCoin just cuts out sometimes, I think it's their API going down. None of the other markets we track have these short-term outages. Nothing you can do but wait for us to figure out a way to fix it, I suppose. We have been looking into it.

Re CPU, there's a new option in settings that disables the animations in the order book and trade feed. This can really help reduce CPU usage, especially when browsing OKCoin (the volume is insane).

Glad you like the service!

how do i delete the lines, arrows and other circles i've drawn?

Right-click anywhere to delete them newest-to-oldest. You can also right-click on the lines' points to delete them in any order.

Hey I use a MacBook Air and cannot seem to perform "right-click". I have unsuccessfully tried option click, control click, and also set up the trackpad prefs for 2 finger secondary click with no luck. So I have a chart full of lines that I cannot delete. Please help!

The site is absoutely killer otherwise!

Update: I still can't seem to get control-click or option-click to delete the lines, but I was finally able to "right-click" by setting 2 finger secondary click on the trackpad (equivalent of control-click), and clicking very firmly directly in the center of the trackpad. Whew.

I am wondering if Mac users who have a standard mac mouse would have control click functionality on the site. If not, they are going to be stuck with lines.

Another couple of things:

Stochastic RSI would be great... as well as persistent alarms that do not get deleted when you refresh, change timeframes, or log off.

Very good work though. The alarms are the only thing really holding me back from using it exclusively. I switch between timeframes a lot and will inevitably delete my alarms over and over.

Alarms used to persist, and it broke because of a bug. It's fixed now, so they persist again.

Thanks for the other input. StochRSI is the next indicator on the list. I can also look into treating control-click as right-click, I think the JS API for click events doesn't present them the same way.

Another detail worth noting is that the alarms only persist for the tab you created them in - so once you close the tab they are gone for good. However, you can refresh and change time periods as much as you want in the same tab and they persist. That seemed like the most natural behavior.

OK that actually sounds perfect.

Thanks for the reply.

Internet Explorer doesn't support a lot of web standards that complicated web apps like ours rely on. It's best if you use Chrome or Firefox.

Hello, Cryptowatch is great. Can you add Yunbi exchange(www.yunbi.com (http://www.yunbi.com)) to Cryptowatch? It is one of the best and popular exchange in China. And it is an open source bitcoin powered by Peatio project. Yunbi exchange programers developped open source cryptocurrency exchange project--Peatio. Ok thanks for that. As long as it is actually deleted I have no issue. One concern I do have however is you ask not to use read only keys. Why is that when all you are doing is reading trades to plot on the charts?

EDIT: Actually I've just remembered the difference between a purge and delete. Why is that data purged and not deleted?

We got this same question earlier today. The answer is we're working on releasing a trading interface as part of the app. https://twitter.com/Lord_Ashdrake/status/573488064439455745.

Email admin@cryptowat.ch with your username to get early access to it if you're interested. When we launch it to everybody, we want the existing user base to be able to use it out of the box. That's why we ask for full-access keys currently. Technically, you can put in a read-only key and the trade overlay feature will still work. However, you will have to update it with a full-access key if you ever want to use the trading interface.

With regards to the distinction between being purged and deleted, to be very clear the record holding your key and secret is irreversibly dropped from the database. And all keys and secrets stored in the database are encrypted; the only place and time your keys are available in clear text is in memory, while our app is using them to sign API requests.

Love the updates, ill donate again.

One major suggestion though, move the new "sticky tickers" box to the top of the page horizontally flush with the drawing tools (there is all that space there). The actual ticker is way too squished having to share space with the "sticky ticker" box.

Before the list of buys/sells going through used to be wider Im sure just generally making them easier to see. Maybe that's my imagination though, I tend to have several tabs open with the exchanges I care about and so the sticky tickers for me is redundant space. I'm sure its useful for many people and I'm just being picky, hence why it would be nice if it was removable if wanted.

I see. That list was wasting a lot of space before; the gutters between the numbers was really wide. We also redesigned it so the prices and amounts of the buys and sells line up with those of the bids and asks in the order book above. That's why the layout ended up this way.

Please move the sticky tickers to the top of the chart, there is so much more room there. I can barely read the price ticker anymore. Your charts are great but that sticky ticker section makes your site so much less functional.

Read my thread with dreamspark to understand the logic behind the layout. Also, because there's a lot of different screen resolutions out there, it's really hard to design layouts based on rows (you're suggesting a row of sticky tickers). It's much easier to support all screen sizes by laying things out in fixed-width columns, and just let the chart absorb the horizontal variability. That's the reason for the empty space at the top - it's a buffer.

Im sorry but the sticky ticker box really clutters the actual ticker, which is far more important. You are sacrificing a crucial part of your chart for something that is not needed.

Also the colors you use now for the ticker make it harder to read, https://i.imgur.com/ubRKeFd.jpg. Between the small size and the color, your ticker has become effectively useless for me.

To be perfectly honest your chart was perfect before you added the sticky tickers.

Look at it like a piece of artwork, at a certain point the more you fiddle with the layout the more confusing it will become.

Thank again though for your hard work.

Sorry to hear you don't like the changes. Will keep your comments in mind as we continue to change the design.

FYI, the dimmed colors are meant to make things easier to read by filtering out noise; the bright colors indicate a change (a change in time, a change in price). And for amounts it simply dims everything after the decimal, also to filter out noise.

Again, will keep your comments in mind. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the report. It seems you're right about the BTC-e key. Still investigating the corruption error... it must have to do with how we encrypt/decrypt your key when we store it in the database. I'm looking into it.

Hello!  Thanks for all your hard work, Cryptowatch is one of the best trading tools out there!

I have a simple, probably stupid, question: Is there an easy way to draw perfectly horizontal lines?

And a couple feature requests in no particular order:

-I think it would be better to replace the time interval drop down for buttons of the different intervals side by side, or maybe have both.
-Higher pitched noise for alerts on the up side
-Option to suppress alert popups (only sound)
-If the experimental depth chart is on, can the numbers on the original depth chart be changed to show the total BTC amount at that point (rather than price)?
-Cumulative orders next to order book like wisdom

Thanks!

When you have USD option checked to make CNY charts show in USD.  You can't set alarms.  You have to switch it back to cny first.

Is anybody also having display issues with the site? The depth chart, order book and other panels are only partially displayed at the bottom of the page (rather than at the right) and only the title of those sections is displayed.

Please help.  :-\

Just joined the website.
Was looking for more info on your operations before I posted my APIs but the platform looks swell.
There's although not much information (or updates) from your team. I checked your twitter, reddit and here on bitcointalk.

Cryptowatch does not correctly determine buy or sell trade.

https://i.imgur.com/9mQItXq.png

On the screen you can see that Cryptowatch shows trade as a "sell" one, but in fact it was "buy" one - kraken view.

One more proof: this order was in "selling" order book, so it should be determined as a "buy"one.

I don't know the technical term for what I am looking for. But I still have too use tradingview just for the stop loss indicator Not good at math so being able to click a buy location and drag the indicator to a percentage were I want too take profit or create a stop loss is very nice.  Any plans too add such an indicator.

Thanks.

cryptowat.ch does not work on
- Mozilla Firefox  ESR 38.5.0 [sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20Portable%20Ed./],
- Tor browser 5.0.7 [ archive.torproject.org/tor-package-archive/torbrowser/5.0.7/torbrowser-install-5.0.7_en-US.exe ],
- Opera 12.18 [opera-usb.com/download/operausb1218en.zip],
- last Otter browser [netcologne.dl.sourceforge.net/project/otter-browser/otter-browser-weekly208/otter-browser-win32-weekly208-xp.zip].

Can't install newer browser due to computer power.

As developers don't respond by  cryptowat.ch/support , I write here.
1) Settings window does not fit my monitor which height = 768 px.
2) Make pop-up menus (e.g. Overlays, Indicators, Hotkeys, etc.) to appear only after the mouse left click, not  the mouseover event, as it causes many false hits.

One thing that would be great would be a way to remove outlier prices or to provide a custom vertical scale so that things like the April 14th, 2017 low on the daily GDAX BTCUSD chart don't mess up the chart view. The outlier super low price that day completely screws with the vertical real estate that is able to be used by the chart. It squishes most of the chart to the top, just because of this one outlier.

For example (pay attention to where it went down to $0.06 that day): https://i.imgur.com/MaQ9DJ4.png

Hi,

Great tool, i'm starting to like this better than my usual charts provider.
Also i didn't know it was here since 2014...
Is there an option to add vertical bars for price volume zones? I can't seem to find this indicator.
Thank you.
