Title: If you are part of the latest HASHRA SCAM please reply here...
Post by: coinminer69 on October 14, 2014, 04:44:26 AM
I am looking to generate a list of potential buyers who have purchased one of HASHRA's new Moonraker or ASTRO miners. I will be building a case to hopefully begin sometime of litigation process against Simon Bright and his HASHRA organization for defrauding buyers.

I have already filed reports with the following authorities:

I would suggest referencing the above reference numbers as well as including yours in the posting. If we can create a large enough network of these filings it may help trigger some type of action.

Please see this forum thread for reference information regarding Simon Bright's most current contact information:

Please reference it when you submit your report.

Here is the bank information that you can reference in the report:

If you are located in another country other than the ones listed above please file a report with your local authorities and paste a link to the website you used and the ID number of the report so others may reference it.

I understand that he has two more days to 'technically' refund our money but considering the lack of communication for almost a month and no other indications that development of the described products is even occurring it would be safe to presume that willingly sending out refunds is just wishful thinking.

I would like to see Bitcoin succeed and it will have a hard time gaining ground if individuals/companies do not stand by their word. Thank you for your support

EDIT 10/17/2014 I have added a spreadsheet to help track all of the information please update it if you have new information to add.

oooooooooffff.  Not good news.

I ordered (3) of the MoonRaker Warp 1Th/s units totalling $1395 (Order #1563).

Paid 2.98639 BTC:  https://www.coinbase.com/network/transactions/61b7538e8e675e68e48c82b978f5d06568953f9d19e8a8b42551e29d0f402564

I was really hoping to see something or hear something prior to the 20 October date that was mentioned in one piece of correspondence as the date that they would begin refunding payments if shipping had not occurred.

You have been ripped off. No company in any other environment would be allowed to operate like this or they would be out of business.

If you have not received a product or a refund then you should be in the group that is trying to get some kind of reimbursment.

Please continue submitting claims to your local authorities and either PM the number to me or post it in the thread. You can remain anonymous if you would like, however I feel the power we have will be based on our numbers.

What is the name of the new company our funds have paid for, vumu or something like that? Also once again I would suggest those of us whom have launched legal action, contact the authorities VIA phone and find out what is actually being done as this may escalate/expedite the legal pressure he will most certainly be facing.

HASHRA--Please send me my unit, or offer a refund as promised and I will retract my negative feed bank and legal action.

Guys,

Launch your complaints to the company who hosts his e-commerce shop.

That should avoid anymore people (although at this point they should deserve it :P - sarcasim) getting ripped off and/or at least get Simon's attention.

i ordered a astro too
just received an email from simon they revised ship date to december and lowered price to $450.
he said are orders on the book will receive significant discount.

here is a copy of message

Hi Michael

First of all I am very sorry for the very late response to your message to us.

We would like to apologise for the delay in our shipping out date with your order.

You can see on our site that I'm afraid there has been some delay with the shipping and because of this we have lowered the price to make sure it is still very competitive given the delay with the shipping.
We are going to be offering our batch 1 customers a good discount on this if they decide to transfer over their order to the new shipping date.

We will be in touch in the next day to confirm what price we can do for you so you can make your decision on this.

Apologies again for the very late response in getting back to you.

Regards

Simon

Glad it took this long to say they were delayed on shipping... I think I am still going to ask for a refund. At the very least I am keeping all of my reports open and will keep feeding information to those looking to follow up on this guy.

This is not how you operate your business when 100's of thousands of dollars are on the line...

His offer to replace 1 with 3 is just to relieve pressure put on him with scam claims. It does not make sense:
he offers 3 machines @ $450 - which is already $1250 - plus shipping costs - say another $350 - total $1600 - to compensate for $750? Why not just sell 2, and reimburse directly?
He is not planning to meet his promises
This is the same scam, part two.

It makes sense to me the Hashra might offer 3 units to keep the order in place. Their costs can be very fluid. If the mfr failed to delivery under contract they may have renegotiated.  The raw chips in bulk can be quite cheap, especially over time.

I've had a lot of respect for Hashra in the past but they really dropped the ball this time.  Hope Simon wants to make it up and doesn't just try to walk away.

FYI -- if it comes to tracking down those responsible, it's likely not just Simon Bright but also a "StevenJ" and a "John" -- but personally I still have hope in Simon as his interactions with me over this last year re: my gridseed orders have been very positive. It's this latest AWOL attitude that's VERY disturbing.

Just got ourselves up and running in the last few days... three guys in London, all of us had enough with the amount of bs with getting miners etc so to cut a long story short that's how HASHRA came into being....

One of us "John" is the guy with the contacts in China / Hong Kong.

I agree with regards to price of chips - they become cheaper - and for good reason. If Simon does it again and you receive your 3 miners in April - will you be happy?

But I think that he is not going to ship anything at all. Maybe they were legit before, but not any more.
How about this scenario: Simon & Co went to Las Vegas with our money for "1-st batch", suddently figured out its not enough, and decided to do it again? In order to keep first buyers at bay, he promises us 3 miners and keeps scamming new buyers? He can promise 10 miners from the second batch (by the way, what happened to the first one?) and pink elephant. He does not care - he is not going to do it anyway.

Cost for miner hardware although drops will never be 0 (metal used?), and shipping costs stay the same. Shipping 3 miners is 3 times more expensive than 1 - and will not become cheaper.

Only after I hear somebody is refunded, as he promised originally, I will agree this is not a scam.

Hi ***

Thank you for your message and I am completely sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused you.

Please see below the answers to your questions.

If I have left anything out then please do get in touch.

- why did you disappear for two month?
To be honest I have been working on another project recently and had left HASHRA to be taken care of by someone else but well it is clear to see that didn't work out very well.
I am still working on something else but now keeping a closer to what is going on here regarding the Astro and Moonraker from now on.

- why did you ignore the deadlines of delivery and refund?
There is no real excuse for this, we really did up till very recently think we were going to hit our deadline for the delivery but it is now clear the delay will be "weeks" not days.
Regarding the refund deadline I had left that in charge of someone else to make sure they keep in contact with customers and give them options if they want them but we have been very slow in getting in contact with everyone, again no excuse for this.

- what exactly are the production problems?
We currently use a manufacturer in China to produce our miners for us, similar set up to the Lunar Lander etc. To cut a long story short they had let us down with the agreed deadline. We have tried to find a solution for everyone and we ended up agreeing a later completion date at a lower cost.

- when are you able to deliver?
Right now it is looking like late November/early December. December is our month where we have to ship out.

- why did you oven batch 2 without having batch 1 done?
We haven't really, the November/December shipment is still batch 1, just late.

I am personally very sorry how this has worked out for you and completely understand that you want a refund.

At present we are contacting customers to see if there is a solution for them that works for them by increasing the amount that was ordered for free so that our batch 1 customers do not lose out.

Looking at what you have ordered we would be able to upgrade your order for free to:
7 x Astro Warp 3 (100mh each)

Please let me know your thoughts regarding this and if you have any further questions at all.

Kind Regards

Simon

Hi Eelko

I am sorry for the late response in getting back to you, we have been trying to make sure we get in touch with all customers the last few days but are behind. No excuse for it.

I am very sorry for the delay that you have had to go through with your order.

You can see on our site that I'm afraid there has been some delay with the shipping and because of this we have lowered the price to make sure it is still very competitive given the delay with the shipping.
We are going to be offering our batch 1 customers a good discount on this if they decide to transfer over their order to the new shipping date (That's you).

Its important for us to make sure that our customers end up with a better deal especially if they ordered early.

Considering what you have ordered and the long delay that you have already incurred we would like to upgrade your order for free to:
1 x Astro Warp 7 "700mh".
Or if your preferred we could mix it up with Moonraker miners so that you can also cover Bitcoin.

I am very sorry for how things have worked out for you and I would really like to make sure that we can make this up to you so that we do not lose you as a customer.

If this is something that could work for you then please let us know and I will make sure that your order upgrade gets confirmed for you asap.

Apologies again for the very late response in getting back to you and thank you for being so patient with us.

Kind Regards

Anyone who is looking for a refund and has paid with wire transfer should submit a fraud claim to HSBC as well as their own bank.

The day after I did this was the day Simon came out of the woodwork.

Feel free to call him at 661-748-0240. He probably didn't want that that number to get out to the public but i don't really care about what he wants as he doesn't seem to care much about the rest of us.

can you define how they have defrauded buyers?

i ask because I have done business with Simon int he past and purchased his machines and NO I was not happy about late deliver and NO I was not happy that he dropped the prices on the machines even before they arrived but Simon and I worked out a solution to make me happy.

I'm just wondering that fraud was committed here.

thanks

Hi Jeff,

These fraud cases were opened some weeks ago, when the latest batch of hardware was not delivered on the expected shipping date (20th Sept), and then Simon/Hashra refused to answer any form correspondence from many users. Our orders stated that should there be any delivery issues with the orders, then a full refund would be made by 14/10/14.

With nobody being able to get hold of Simon/Hashra during this entire period, it really did look like we might have all been scammed (I have also ordered from Hashra before without problems). His logon on this forum had not been used for months, photos of himself holding early Hashra hardware had been removed from forums. It really did not look good.

Many customers filed fraud reports here in the UK where Hashra is supposedly based and also in Hong Kong.

Not surprisingly Simon suddenly started to contact customers, apologising profusely for the non communication - apparently this had been handed over to somebody else - and the lack or orders - due to supplier delays.

We have all been offered significant upgrades to keep our orders in place and wait for the next supposed delivery date of late November, or a refund.

My mind (and my fraud report!) is still open on this one, until the upgraded hardware is physically in my hands.

so it appears that these units

http://hashra.com/astro/

were promised in October originally and now delayed until December?

I looked at the other thread and it appears as though these are the units in question.

correct?

in the for what it's worth department I have a few of the astro's on order now also - I placed my order last week.

there is absolutely no doubt that Simon can go off the grid from time to time and that's unfortunate because although I have been a big critic of his lack of responsiveness in recent weeks he appears to be quite responsive. I've written to him and criticized him for the 'silence' when in fact he should be proactive. One thing I know for sure - very rarely does mining equipment ever arrive when promised. I've had two MAT Machines on order since last April (yes pre orders) and they were promised by the end of August and my first of two order arrived 10 days ago - beginning of November. so it's frustrating as hell. It's amazing how all these guys get jerked around the the chip foundries and manufacturers because I've been told the stories by Simon ad the guys at MAT.

Like you - I'm hoping this works out. The only thing I can say is that Simon has come through in the past and promised me some things and he did eventually deliver - albeit late but he did deliver.

all things considered I'm just glad Im not a KNC Miners pre-order customer or that other company based in London where people will probably never get their miners or any money returned.

and on top of the Hashra is really kind of the only game in town now since Zeus pulled the plug on Manufacturing (they say - my guess is they're keeping all the machines for themselves and Zeushash)

Jeff

Yes, original orders were for these units....Astro 100MHs units cost $745 originally  :o

I decided to stay in the game as there isn't really much else out there at this price point ATM.

Lets hope our orders will become reality in the next few weeks  :)

Hi,

Speaking for myself, the last promise of delivery or refund was 23/11 which obviously came and went.

Simon replied quickly to my email asking what was going on.

The usual reasons were give for the delays - problems with the manufacturers in China.

Its not great but I am at least happy with the communication with Simon, which was the real issue before.

hey guys,

i just want so share my success with you:
i ordered with delivery promised in september. full refund was promised for 15. october.

i had to write many emails.. Simon disappeared sometimes for about 10 days.. but then always told me that he would check it..
then we a had a problem with my bank ( refused USD and money went back to simon )
after some emails now a second payment was made.

and finally i received my 1660 € back today. Because of exchange fluctuations this is 5% more than what i had payed :)
15. december is 2 month delayed.. this is a long time in the bitcoin industry..

but let's be honest, this is not a long time for a refund ( compared with big companies or federal institutions )
so i am very grateful and wish Simon all the best for his business!

Simon promised my miners would ship in Sept, nothing a month later and 87 e-mails he finally replied with the same cookie cutter e-mail. He promised that I would receive additional units if I waited until Dec. 15th. So one week before the deadline I started to e-mail him again. After 32 e-mails and a threat to have my lawyers in UK and China File suit low and behold he replied back. He said he would initiate the refund the following Monday. It came and went no refund, I wrote my Lawyers and wrote him he had one day to comply. took nearly 100 days to get a refund, but I finally got it.  Looking at all the issues here that are reported some items get delivered but the majority do not. Almost smells of a pyramid scheme to allow him to use our money to fund his... whatever.

Order #1583

Order Date: 8th Sep 2014

This order is marked as Refunded

but i guess not anymore. atleast the guys responding to your emails.. so it takes all those threats to get a refund.

such a serious hassle.

Just wanted to let everybody know that I got refund.

I ordered a unit back in September, then agreed to order upgrade under condition miners shipped by the end of November. This did not happen, I requested and received refund.

Honestly back in October I though this was a scam. So I have to apologize for that.

Things definitely could get better, i.e. I would have been happy to get a miner at the end of September.

However things could be worse.

I have to say that despite of everything Simon is an honest person, and I wish Hashra all the best, since it seems they are the only players left with Scrypt miners.

Most of my posts were not pro- but rather anti- Hashra.

I did not receive my miners and thought is was a scam. That was basically the only reason I registered here

I received refund. Since I was posting my frustration about Hashra, I though it would be fair to post that the issue resolved.

I have now sent multiple messages via the hashra.com website member control panel and have got nothing in response! Pretty sure we have ALL been ripped off and its time to start taking legal action against Simon again as it seamed to get his attention last time. WE ARE/HAVE BEEN SCREWED.

I understand that he has two more days to 'technically' refund our money but considering the lack of communication for almost a month and no other indications that development of the described products is even occurring it would be safe to presume that willingly sending out refunds is just wishful thinking.

I would like to see Bitcoin succeed and it will have a hard time gaining ground if individuals/companies do not stand by their word. Thank you for your support

Sorry for crossposting this in several threads, but it might be important -

lifeforcepools - Hashra reseller - has locked his thread after some posters questioned his lack of communication and other issues:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=864057.260;topicseen

lifeforcepools along with Xircom were pumping another scammy ASIC seller MAT, which is now in bankruptcy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=485237.0;topicseen

Anyone who purchases from lifeforcepools via PayPal should be very careful to not miss any dispute deadlines. His last promise was that the miners will ship "end of this week", but so far there is no proof of anything that would indicate the miners even exist.

I am looking to generate a list of potential buyers who have purchased one of HASHRA's new Moonraker or ASTRO miners. I will be building a case to hopefully begin sometime of litigation process against Simon Bright and his HASHRA organization for defrauding buyers.

Pretty sure this is a SCAM.  Nothing has been shipped.  And it appears that some of the correspondence from Simon to a few people may not even be real.

OK;

So I am relatively new to Bitcoin mining - and I am absorbing as much as possible.

I found Hashra's web site and wanted to find out more about the company.  There seems to be plenty of press (some good, most bad).
The industry is plagued with delays and false representations - from a number of contributors (manufacturers, sales reps, online publications, forums, equipment resellers etc etc).  However, this is not that different from the mid 1980's when the PC market was rocking and delivery delays were as rampant as misrepresentations  (yes, I lived through that and remember all too fondly placing an order for an Apple IIc slimline computer and waiting 8 months for it to be delivered).  Eventually, the manufacturers caught up to demand.

Do we definitively know that Hashra is, in fact, a SCAM?  Can someone provide some sort of non-emotive update?

With thanks.
RC

Yes,

New user to this forum - and I've purposely joined to ask about Hashra.
Seems to me that Hashra may have wanted to be legit - and they've succumbed to factors that were out of their control.
Yes, I think (based on all that I have read) that Hashra has gone rouge.  But there sure is a lot of incriminating evidence left behind (addresses, corporate records, photos of the Simon, phone numbers, bank account details ....).

So be it.   Off to buy some Bitcoin mining equipment from somewhere else......

Thanks.
RC

Well i have received fuck all and was onE of the original buyers awaiting my October shipment which didn't happen and was then offered an upgrade rather then a refund at the time.. which i took :/ and now get no response to my questions regarding my promised December shipment. I have now sent multiple messages via the hashra.com website member control panel and have got nothing in response! Pretty sure we have ALL been ripped off and its time to start taking legal action against Simon again as it seamed to get his attention last time. WE ARE/HAVE BEEN SCREWED.

Am in the same boat. ie: "one of the original buyers awaiting my October shipment which didn't happen and was then offered an upgrade rather then a refund at the time." My order (# 1401) got upgraded from 1 MoonRaker to 3.

Simon is no longer replying my emails either. Thank goodness I only bought the cheapest unit.

The Hardware @hashra is updated, new shipping Dates and they can be ordered again ..

Does that mean scam continues or development is almost finished ?

Astro 100MH changed to 110MH

Quote
The shipping date for the ASTRO miner is Early February 2015. If for any reason we are unable to ship out by 15th February 2015 we will offer a full refund by bank transfer in fiat. No refunds in Bitcoin.

Everyone should assume it's a scam until something is actually delivered to at least a trusted forum member, tested, proven to meet specs, etc. Better yet, delivered to all customers who ordered months ago. Under no circumstances should anyone put any more money into this. Stay away. If you ordered via PayPal through lifeforcepools check your dispute deadline, don't miss it. Keep in mind that hashra/Simon has not delivered anything for the last 6 months or so, and it doesn't look like he refunded anyone either.

Yes, they delivered when they were reselling hardware made by other vendors - Gridseed, Zeus etc. Around July or August they started taking preorders for their "own" miners and as far as I know they haven't delivered any yet.

I have been told  I will be getting a refund (After 4 and a half months of delays) ill let you know what comes of it. Thus far its been over a week and have heard nothing after giving them my back information.. perhaps an identity theft scam... which could really escalate his ranks among the authorities. I will keep everyone posted as to whether or not I actually get a refund.

Wait - so "Simon" emails you personally to take your posts down -- meanwhile you still have not received your refund?

That is bizarre.

Does anyone know if Hashra even has a real office (besides some virtual address)?  For all we know, Hashra, could have been a drop-ship company now turned scam, that has no physical location.

I'm not sure of the legalities regarding this, but they did state that if it wasn't shipped by December something then you were entitled to a refund.

If you don't request that refund then would you potentially waive your right to request the refund in the future (and instead be required to follow their maze of faking shipping delays -- going on and on and on)?

Hope that makes sense…

I'm curious - those that have NOT received refunds (and requested them) -- did you pay by BTC or wire transfer?

I would think that anyone paid using BTC would not be at the top of their list for refunds -- but if you paid by wire -- then you would be at the top of the list (as that is more legitimate in the eyes of authorities I suppose).

This is where I stand and I want to see if anyone else got a raw deal like I did.  The order I have out standing  right now is order #1690.  However, my order originates from order #1337 on 24 July 2014.  Never full filled.  Order #1337 was cnx and upgraded to order #1455 on 28 Aug 2014.  I had to send additional BTC for the upgrade miner.  Order #1455 never filled, cnx and was upgraded again to the now  order #1690 on 22 October 2014.  Total invesment is 1475.00 USD.  What really sucks.  Go to Hashra.com and see they are trying to get more ppl to buy off on this scam.  And you can forget about February deliver.  Chinese new year starts the 19th of February, nothing will get shipped for 2 weeks.  For Chinese New Year, it must be the year of the donkey, because I feel like a real A$$

Got this in an email today from the authorities regarding Hashra.com I encourage ANYONE AND EVERYONE whom has been ripped off by Hashra.com  /  Simon Bright to file with the authorities listed in this post and many others.
Re: NFRC150200928923

I’m writing to let you know about the current position of your report.

The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) collects information from reports and puts

information it receives to the most effective possible use, either through investigating crime

or using the information to disrupt and prevent future criminal activity.

Your report has been assessed by the NFIB and the information you have provided has

helped the police to begin taking steps to disrupt the activities of suspected criminals. This

activity could result in the closure of:

• Fraudulent websites,

• Telephone numbers,

• Bank accounts.

Unfortunately we cannot provide further information about this. One of the reasons is due to

the sensitive nature of police work which cannot always be made public.

It can take time for disruption requests to be fully processed, so please be assured this is

happening and no further action is required on your part.

The NFIB has not closed your report following this. As hundreds of new reports of fraud are

gathered every day and added to our systems, any common links with existing reports will

be picked up and can lead to new investigative opportunities. The NFIB work closely with

other regulators in the UK and abroad, to stop fraudsters. We also use all reports to inform

our prevention activity to reduce the number of victims of fraud.

Thank you for taking the time to report this matter to us.

I will say anyone who has paid using any type of wire transfer needs to contact HSBC and their bank immediately and report a fraud case. This is how I got my money back.

I had Simon calling me literally 5 times a day because HSBC had him by the balls and would not release any of his funds until I gave the all clear on my end.

It was pretty entertaining to say the least. On a serious note I want to say that i am very sorry to hear that he is still not honoring his word and helping you guys. When I finally got his account off lockdown for him he asked how he could compensate me. I told him to take care of his customers... I guess he is failing.

I paid with BTC and the National Fraud bureau still took my case so even if you didn't send direct wire transfer and in fact paid with BTC just send them a copy of your invoice that states paid and they will look into it. REGARDLESS OF PAYMENT METHOD.. FILE LEGAL ACTIONS AND FORWARD A COPY OF YOUR HASHRA.COM INVOICE

You have a weird definition of "trouble". Not delivering anything for 6+ months wasn't trouble, but the website being down - that's trouble? If anything that saves new suckers from getting scammed.

Post by: hdmediaservices on March 03, 2015, 05:56:21 PM

Well - I'm not sure it has been shutdown.  It just says the store is down for maintenance.

Although we all know Hashra is scamming people - but on the website -- hard to say if it was shutdown.  As you would think if that were the case then it would give an error message.

And as for authorities over there, they dont really give a fuk, this is based from experience hearing how business is conducted from my chinese friends.

You may see Xircom (who magically reappeared in hashra threads just now after being absent during the 2+ months of delays) and lifeforcepools soon claim that they received their miners. They will probably post some pictures too. So far they are following the MAT scam script to the letter.

i do not think that Simon has set out to scam anyone.
circumstances have contributed to this outcome.

however, there is no delivery nor any information about deliveries.

hashra.com collected my money on the basis that a product would be delivered - so far nothing after months of waits and delays.

now, it is time to use technology to find them.

so i would suggest that we keep on filling cases with the authorities - while we seek out the responsible parties.
amongst this groups there are sufficiently intelligent people who can utilize technology in amazing ways.

happy hunting!

Just filed the IC3 report. Im done with this asshole. He wont reply now again, what a surprise. He lied to us all again. I don't know if his website is actually taken down or if its really in maintenance mode. But we all really need to write into his hosting company like I did and even talked with the hire ups at the hosting firm explaining that all this guy is doing is taking money and not producing product.

And simon if your reading this, All I asked for was you to be honest with us. , If you were unable to produce the product to refund the money. I have asked you to stay in contact with me and that failed.

I will provide the ic3 case number when I receive it
i emailed his hosting company and a day later i got a reply from simon saying the chips were late. he replied to my email. he isnt replying now and i think he changed webhost.

They had to send a load of chips back this weekend due to errors but don't panic there are plenty in supply now that work ok.

This great excuses looks exactly the same as Alpha Technology excuses. They promised Q2/Q3 2014, but they did not even send order for chips manufacturing during July. Promised that shipping will be last two weeks of July 2014 (LIED to press us pay remaining amount). Just for your information, we are still waiting for their miners, their updates are les than once a month and they still promise "miners will be very soon".

I am very sorry, but Hashra seems to be in serious troubles.

It's hard for a state to regulate bitcoin in a way that it protects the costumes from fraud. UK gov is trying to do this, but it will likely take years before it takes effect.

There is protection but it involves some thinking on the part of the buyer, which is often lacking.

Don't preorder.

Use escrow unless the vendor is trustworthy beyond any doubt (that's somewhat relative though).

If you can't do the above skip the deal and don't look back, no matter how good it looks.

It's obviously important they check them all extensively before shipping otherwise we will have to deal with returns etc.

I'll give you another update in 24 hours.

i feel like by answering emails, hes basically laughing at every customer that bought hashra.

and its more now a entertainment for him, since he does have all the funds based on the pre-order thats mentioned that wasnt fulfilled which is typical in the mining company arena.

if there is any progress with the chinese authorities, I think bribing a bit to them will help the case move a lot faster. You can prob spare a few hundred dollars making a chinese work 10x faster which works in any form of politics.

Just passing by in checking some sources for my wiki work, but...
I'm just hearing from the factory that they need at least another 24 hours to check the stability of the chip.
What's that all about?  While I'm uncertain whether this is regarding the astro or the moonraker models, the website claims "based on readily available technology already in the marketplace, no speculative pre-order on non tested technology or chip design here!" for both.
I guess 'based on readily available technology' at best meant 'we need to have new wafers produced'.

Hi Jeff,

I sincerely apologize for the delay in getting you a status, but we have been working around the clock on the assembly, machines and most importantly testing.

Where we stand right now is that about 50% of the chips were unstable.
We had to test everything thoroughly and the news wasn't great, about 50% of those were also unstable.

We know the chip and the boards can work fine as we have being testing it with exactly the same specifications before but since this batch of chips have been made we have had stability issues with them after 48 hours of testing.

I know this is a real pain for everyone but we have to keep testing to figure out if we need new chips produced or we can use these for at least some of the machines. You will be first to know as we come to some conclusions.

Please bare with us for a few days till we have some more concrete news.

Sorry Jeff.

Simon

LOL sadly it's not me, it's that Jeff Jennings scammer aka lifeforcepools. See this scheme takes two - one mysterious Chinese enterpreneur working hard to procure ASICs, and one USA-based shill who forwards communication from said entrepreneur and pretends to be in the same boat as all other customers but waiting patiently. So everyone else shall wait too because Simon said so and Jeff confirmed.

Like everyone here I am extremely disappointed at the near total lack of communication from Simon and staff at Hashra.

However I am encouraged that he has communicated to at least some and you guys are sharing that communication.

It's no way to do great business but it does give me some hope.

Yes, there was an extreme possibility of scam, and I was in extreme hope that these were real.

I did not invest more than i was willing to lose, but it appears that Simon has walked with with all our money.

just heard from simon

Very sorry we have not been in touch sooner.

We have had some major issues with the board design and had to go back to the drawing board with it.
We have a new board that is just having some checks with it before they do full production on it.

We are now looking at shipping later this month and of course for the delay we have caused you we can certainly look at compensation in some way for you.

Sorry for the lack of updates and we'll keep you updated from now on.

Kind Regards

Simon

I`m pretty sure the order details comes from the individuals own order as a reference.

And this is all the pre-orders that have been missed, so you got lucky before they ran out of units to send then.

Hi all,

I have been contacted by the NCIB (National Fraud Intelligence Bereau) here in the UK, regarding my fraud complaint against Simon and Hashra.

They have a number of other claimants, and it looks like they are putting together a case against him.

Can I urge any other UK victims to get in contact with NCIB on the ActionFraud website and register a case. The more complaints they have on file, the better chance we have of an outcome from this fraudster.

Good luck! Will post on other Hashra threads....

Anyone have any news regarding purchase of Astros from Lifeforcepools (now Smarterhash) or directly from Hashra?

I don't unfortunately, but I find it funny that two new vendors (Alcheminer and now apparently SFARDS too) managed to produce new Scrypt miners in the past 12 months while Simon and Jeff only managed to collect money and bullshit everyone with promises.

I think the LifeforcePools guy (which is now Smarterhash.com) should provide any information that may help in finding this scammer.

He had a direct business relationship with some guy named "Simon" from Hashra and is 100% obligated to help the alt coin community find him and prosecute him.

Anything less would show that he is also a part of the scam -- in my opinion.

I mean he still has the store online:

http://shop.lifeforce.info/shop/astro-100mh/

One would think that he must have additional information that others do not...

This is my take on the whole Hashra/Simon situation.  when I order my first miners from Hashra, boom got them fast.  Yes  solid company will order again.  Hashra came out with the Astro's and the success I had with the first miners of course I ordered some.  What I think happen.  Simon wanted to generate some quick BTC so he under priced the Astro thinking BTC was going way up around Nov 2014 to off set cost of the low Astro price. At the same time Simon dumped a bunch of money into developing the chip and pcb.  For one reason or another either the board or chip failed and all the investment into to them was lost.  Simon then tried to generate more investments and reopened miner sales at the end of Jan 2015 saying he will ship out miners in Feb 2015 knowingly he was not going to have them.  This reflected when at the end of Feb 2015 the Hashra website shut down. No the site wasn't under new construction it SHUTDOWN! communication went to a stand still.  If you were lucky and spamm'd Simon with email you got a response back with a "sorry we will make it up to you".
The last thing I am going to speculate on.  I think Simon did go to another company to get the pcb's and chip.  He purchased as many miners as he could with the remaining funds he had from customers and is now mining with them trying to make up the losses to buy the remaining miners he needs to make up the orders.  LTC is halving soon making existing miner's half as profitable and will not be cost effective to run due to power consumption. Then he's going to shutdown the mining farm and send the miners out.  So if you get a shipping confirmation in September and receive your Astro open it up and it's full of dust you know what had happen. Angry

Well - either Simon is a complete idiot or he is a crook.  But now he is a fugitive on the run.

In addition -- anyone that helps a fugitive through through advice, actions or financial support would be an accessory to the crime.

You don't gamble with other people's money...

If I were a reseller -- I would be worried.

i think that is a very logical post. I spam him weekly and get a response. surprisingly, its usually not a canned response. im currently awaiting for 20 august, as that was when i told him i would release all his emails to me along with all the promises and missed dates and reasons and begin my hashra twitter bash again. i have lots of direct messages and emails with loads of responses and promises, although he has gone quiet this week.

Well we (and I'm sure the feds) look forward to all the authenticated communications that you might have.

As we all know -- anyone can make up emails for posting.  Hopefully you have a way to show that these are real.

The Astros aren't coming and never will.  But with enough evidence from his deceived customers and any resellers -- I'm sure he can be tracked down and prosecuted.

Hopefully this theft is limited only to "Simon" -- if that is truly his real name -- and not any resellers that may have knowingly or unknowingly broken the law.

Things are changing and scams like this aren't going to slide anymore.

Hi Rob

Not sure who Jason is either, sorry about that.

I completely understand Rob and I do want you to know that we don't don't take your investment casually.
We want to do all we can so that our miners can make the best ROI possible, that has always been our aim in the past and in turn when we have been able to offer this it works out best for us as we sell more.

Let's try and stay in communication a bit better from now on, from us to you that is.
Thank for being patient with us, you are right that you have been.
I hope that we can continue to support you with your mining.

On a completely separate issue would you consider at all at altering your Twitter comments at all or deleting them? I completely understand that you are angry and upset with us and that is our fault at causing that.
It's just when people see comments like that it is very hard for us as a small business to keep going. Our plan is once we start shipping that we will reopen orders after they have been successfully shipped to customers but when people see this on our twitter feed it makes it hard for us to continue.
I hope you understand and wonder if there is anything we can do work out around this?

Kind Regards

Simon

Hi Rob

Hope you are well.

I'm afraid at the moment we are looking at shipping out the start of September.
I know this is really not what you want to hear, I am really sorry for this.

This is still just related to the continued delays with the board production and design finalisation.
The design of the board was still give us many issues so we had to continue to do more work on it.

I will give you another update on how that is going towards the end of August if that works for you?

Kind Regards

Simon

I'm not sure how this helps as it can't be authenticated -- and even if it were true communications -- it is not going to happen.

"Simon" has been giving the same lines for about a year now.

It is time people go after him and go after him hard.

You should reveal the email headers so we can see if he is purposely trying to cover his tracks through a proxy of some sort.

Also -- the Hashra.com site is gone -- but email still works?  And it is still through BigCommerce?

Doing a quick DNS check -- it appears that Hashra email is forwarded to a Google Mail account of some sort.  I'm no DNS expect -- perhaps someone can chime in on this.

Bummer - don't see anything that would point back to "Simon" - right?

BUT --- I noticed on the "WaybackMachine" for Hashra.com in January 2014 they listed their address as:

145-157 St John Street
London, EC1V 4PW.
United Kingdom

According to an internet search (and BBC Report):

This is the address used by a company which sells its use as a registered office address. Because there does not seem to be an obligation to check that users of the service are legitimate companies, criminals are attracted to it. According to the BBC, the address is in common use among fake companies operating "boiler room" fake share scams.

Evidently (even since 2009 or earlier) -- anything going to this address is for scam companies.

So - perhaps this is old news.  I'm sure right?  But if people knew this -- then wouldn't this company be regarded as a Scam from the beginning?

Interesting thing -- this faux address changes on their website in April 2014.  So they go from a total faux criminal address to exciting addresses:

London:
1st Floor, 6-8 Bonhill Street
London, EC2A 4BX.
United Kingdom
UK Company Registration Number: 08828755

Hong Kong:
Level 9, Central Building
1-3 Pedder Street, Central
Hong Kong
Hong Kong Company Registration Number: 2041737

All of this in a matter of 4 months in 2014?

Please tell me that everyone always knew this information!!

Well searching some more -- YES-- evidently many people were aware of this scam address (including the US reseller from Smarterhash -- which was Lifeforcepools).  And no one was concerned?

So if a reseller knows he is dealing with a criminal -- then he himself would be an accomplice to the crime?

I dunno what you think -- but it would seem that if you are in the US -- and even did not buy from the reseller -- you could still have some domestic options??
