You can also claim free (4 or so CLAMs) by downloading the QT and checking wether your BTC address has any 'attached' to it. If you had a balance >0 in May 2014, then you have CLAMs!

I thought it was a troll too until I went to JD and it is indeed back up.  Dooglus himself was there.

Still not sure on how I use my old BTC addresses to get CLAMS, but it is really nice to see the site back up in any capacity.  Typing /dig in the chat gives some indication of how to start.

You need to "claim" your clams by signing to prove you owned the priv key.  I always recommend to should retire that address and never use it again when you use it for CLAM claiming :) Better safe than sorry!

Why not relaunch the site with normal BTC? I am aware there was some problem with the taxes, but can't he hire or ask someone in a differently country to manage things?

Dooglus has trust issues.

BTC exchanges to USD and is in the lime light really bad.  Good things come to those who wait and CLAM still helps BTC.  I'm not sure doogs super long term thought and I'm sure he'd entertain you asking him (I'm not the site owner or anything.)

You can claim your free clam using BTC.  Think of these like play toys for dicking off on the site while the grown ups duke it out over BTC.

It actually did pump the coin. The trade volume today is around 33 BTC and the prices are up 150% from yesterday.
Definitely made a big impact on the price of the coin.

I know, people might say this is just the same as doge-dice, but doge already had a big following beforehand, the price/volume was pretty stable. I can guarantee you that those with inside information about this move bought a lot of CLAM before this was publicly announced, since they knew the effect this would have on demand. I've always had a certain amount of respect for JD and doog's operations, and this kind of lowered it =/

What the hell lol. The total volume of exchange today was around 33 BTC, much much more than the regular exchange volume.
And the price did go up, anyone invested fully, would only benefit by 10-15 coins. I don't think dooglus would do that for that amount.
Plus it also includes investments of others.

Dooglus (the owner) has >5,000 BTC.  I doubt he is up for days on end trading CLAM :P

He is nice enough to give the BTC community (LTC and DOGE.) A place they can come fuck off, chat (sharing ideas is very powerful) and maybe even help their coin out.  When CLAM price goes up.. it goes up for everyone. Not just a select group...

CLAM doesn't exchange to USD which is a big reason why the governments are busting BTC balls.

CLAM hits all the "target market holders" (BTC/DOGE and LTC) under one roof.  Basically like a big free faucet. Everyone already has CLAMs for free.

You're logic is flawed... Bitcoin is not one of hundred altcoins that were pump'n'dumped and there's lots of businesses already that accepts bitcoin.. like CLAM.. NOT. This CLAM is particularly silly also because it's build on the three most popular ones in a pretty useless way.

The OP has a small link to JD and a big bolded link to the trading place where CLAM is being pumped. So the purpose is obviously to increase trading of CLAM.

And if the site is still being run in Canada still, I don't see why the same requirements would apply as if it was running bitcoin.

I understand doog can't legally run a bitcoin dice site, as bitcoin can be exchanged to USD easily through bitcoin exchange.
But my point is, CLAM can be exchanged to bitcoin easily through altcoin exchange (and then can be exchanged to USD) as well.

I believe since a lot of people had CLAMS in May 2014, therefore the prices of CLAMS may not just go up. It will probably be dumped, or be stable.

Guess we will see how far down the rabbit hole regulators what to stick their noses...

I am thinking about investing but the site closes the CLAM will all be sold at the same time and the price will crash, it is a big risk to buy CLAM when you don't know how much you will get for them in the future.

You can email and ask them of course, but they don't give customers their priv keys.

They are fairly distributed across BTC, LTC and DOGE.  So kinda brings it all under one roof.  If you had a active address May 2014 then you have CLAMs probably.

I believe in my heart of hearts that it truly is doog and he is probably waiting to fix up something or something.  It is meant as a play tool for crypto people (BTC, DOGE and LTC.)  It should be got for free... don't just rush buying n selling.

Why didn't dooglus pick a currency that already has a market and added on some exchanges? This one looks so thin particularly for a site like just-dice and most of the coins are property of owners who didn't know they had it (found some CLAMS in an old wallet that had balance in 24 may, Plenty of just-dice people found they had hundreds of CLAMS too). Also I doubt investors who had thousands of BTC in just-dice would convert their bitcoins to some random alt-currency and put it in there.

Me too. I'm the " R"  speaking with you in the JD chat right now,  I invested (and gambled  ;D ) till the first hours the site was up. But before invest more I need dooglus to show up, this thing is a lot unexpected and a bit shady and, you know, this is a bitcoin related business... what if somebody hacked his passwords?

Well.. its just great that Just-Dice has re-launched. I never had the opportunity to play on the "original" JD as i got into BTC gambling pretty late. I have seen several people across the internet, on BTC talk and gambling chat rooms keep cribbing about the fact that they wanted a site that would feel like JD with an honest operator like doogs and they were quite unhappy that they couldn't find one! With the re-launch i understand that clams will be the coin used to circumvent the fact that they cannot be converted to USD hence gambling them is legal where Doogs is.

What happens if Clams / any exchange decide to open a CLAMS/USD market? Does this mean that the site will go belly-up again? This is the only question really plaguing me atm. Will he also try other cryptos which cannot be converted to USD?

Lots of people playing and fucking around I guess.  Some taking totally free used X addresses and walking away with a few whole Bitcoins or w/e they want since LTC and DOGE is included as well.

Not sure about the existing one, but their multisig vault would allow you to control your private keys.

They use a shared wallet, so they can't give the priv key to you or it could pwn someone else.

Here are a few of my concerns:

a) There is no richlist available to my knowledge.  We have no idea how many people were privy to the inside information that Just-dice was going to solely feature clams and we have no idea how many coins the top holders have and/or what their intentions are for the coin either.

b) People are being asked to copy and paste their private key into a PUBLIC chatroom.  It's not hard to believe that users will not understand the instructions, mistype and reveal their private keys openly with funds still inside of them.  This is not OK.  Dooglus seems to get away with it because he has a spotless record, but what if this becomes common practice in the bitcoin gaming scene?  Scamming gaming operators will have a field day!  Please be EXTREMELY cautious and protective with your private keys!!!!

c) There is no way to tell at this moment what will happen when Clams inevitably gets paired with FIAT.  Will Just-dice close down and then it becomes a free for all sell off of clams?  How can we accurately speculate the stability of Clams?  The order book is extremely thin right now.  There are several hypothetical situations that do not play out well for users if they buy-in heavily into clams.

Final thoughts:

Just-dice has always been a great reputable site ran by a very competent and trustworthy operator (Dooglus), but I highly suggest that users do not gamble for high amounts of bitcoin value as there's many unanswered questions and high levels of risk.

If you want to play for fun, mess around with a trusted gaming site, and are not too concerned with financial risk, then by all means I think Just-dice is one of the best places for this.

You are right there are many open questions. Especially what happens when the site closes, is there an exit strategy?
If dooglus got his hands on a large amount of CLAM before hand at say 0.001 and went public saying he will sell it back now and will buy back when the site closes it will be better for investors.
At least it is fun to see just-dice reopens but investing in it is gambling when you can lose more than 50% of the value of your investment because you bought CLAM at a high price then sell low. Investors are going to be more careful than if it reopened in BTC. If the bankroll is smaller, the return on investment will be higher for investors.

That being said, they did their research and CLAM has been distributed widely so many people have it without knowing it, they will get a hold of their CLAM and sell them on the exchange or bet them on j-d so the exchange rate should just rise when the order book is thin but should not go to the moon.

Problems already been addressed about typos.

Priv keys are censored in public chat and private messaging.

All priv keys are told over n over n over to be empty prior.  Even if dooglus says he doesn't keep the information, so it would be a was to hack + should all be empty anyways.

Grab a priv key from www.Directory.io and try.

What @dooglus is doing is abusing people trusts. He is not saying anything in this forum but he is like trying to say:
"You trust JD ? You like me? You have to buy CLAM to play in JD". And then they(doog, BayAreaCoins ...) can dump their thousands of CLAMs at a high price.

If you notice, @BayAreaCoins is screaming "buy CLAM" everywhere. Why?

There is no need for richlist. Dooglus (probably) has most CLAMs (~400 BTC), and may be developers of coins too.

I've been busy with the site, but here are some answers to the above posts. I also posted in the main Just-Dice thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238613.msg9772760#msg9772760). Let's use that from now on, rather than having two threads talking about the same thing.


When I shut down JD, many people asked if I could at least leave a "play money" site up, so they could still hang out, chat, mess about with strategies, etc. That's the aim here. If you want high-stakes BTC gambling, JD isn't the place.


I don't log any private keys, and the site forces SSL connections. If you're careless and accept a dodgy certificate it's possible you'll get man-in-the-middle'd and have your key stolen. It's possible JD gets hacked and someone starts stealing the private keys. I recommend that you only send private keys that you have finished using.


I don't want thousands of BTC on JD. It's too much responsibility looking after them. Switching to a "worthless" toy coin should drastically reduce the amount of value I have to take care of.


I've made no secret of the fact that I've been working on CLAM for months now. I've posted to their thread regularly, and submitted to their github repo a lot too. It wouldn't have taken a huge leap of imagination to guess that I'd do something with them eventually.

Note that there are ~263k coins in active circulation, but almost 15 million currently not "dug up". Even if you have 100% of the active coins, you have less than 2% of the total money supply. Chances are high that someone (cryptsy? gox?) has a huge number of CLAMs if they still have their old BTC wallets and decide to dig them up. In a sense these undug coins act like Satoshi's huge stash of BTC - if they get dumped onto the market, the price drops significantly. I hope JD can be seen as a play to hang, chat, and play for small amounts. I don't want the focus to be on the value, especially since as you say there's no way of knowing how the price will move in the future.

The chatroom code attempts to filters out private keys that are typed as chat accidentally. But you have a point that it's a dangerous precedent to set. Since CLAM's launch, people have complained that they don't want to download a .exe and import their bitcoin wallet into it. I was thinking that being able to import individual retired private keys into JD might be more acceptable for some than giving their whole wallet to an unknown executable.


Treat it as play money. Don't put serious amounts of value into it. Then it doesn't matter.
