I accidentally downloaded that file when he put a link up a few weeks earlier, but I deleted the malware/trojan as soon as I understand what was going on.

what will the scammer or thief do, with the stolen btc?

I do feel next year the price will rise by $100 or more. I know it is speculative but I can just feel it. Probably because I'm a huge advocate of Bitcoin and want to see it blossom to the full potential that it deserves. I don't look at the ups and downs daily like I used to. just check it once a month to gain the value. Else it would take far too much of my time :-)

I would not sell if the price was that low I would hold on to my Bitcoins. I think that the price is way to low for me to sell so hold every coin that you have. I would not even make a profit if I sold some of my coins for this amount.

This thread is one of the history of bitcoin that we should always buy and hold bitcoin, because its price is skyrocketing no matter what happens.

The price is not dropping now around this time and that is because the price keeps stable for a long time and that is not that bad but people wants that the value is going to rise.
But that is not possible now because the value will even not rise after the halving so that can be quite bad for the most people.

The price is not going to be that low again, we have passed that along time ago so unfortunately we are not going to be able to buy Bitcoins for such a low price any more.
This is making it harder to invest in Bitcoin every time the price is going up.

Yes and that price we will never see till the halving as price is rising now so we will see higher price in next couple of months, but getting back to $280 is not possible at a moment.

If you believe in Bitcoin and that great things are to come then buy more, if you believe Bitcoin is going to fail then sell your holdings.

The value is not going to be that low and you also can see that the value was stable for a long time and that is now changing because that is now rising slowly so that is perfect.
But the smartest thing that you can do now is just hold and sell it later after the price increase and that would be nice.

I think if it happens today I will hold my bitcoin since I did it previously unless I am in need of money.

Holding will be now the best option that you can have and that is because I dont see there any reason to sell it now because the value is not even that high enough so that have to change also.
And it will be better for you if you are going to sell it after the price rise.

I'd buy some if ever it goes down to $280. At current prices, that is close to a 40% drop. What could actually cause it to drop that much in a short period of time? Probably gonna happen only in my dreams as the price is slowly stabilizing and could even be at $600 by June.

Sorry maybe you hope to buy at $280 it's never can get because i waiting to buy too if i see bitcoin price stay below $300 and will keep that until price up and maybe not need wait to long time to get a profit.

Keep hold because if bitcoin price is down well many people will take the oppurtunity to buy more btc, because they knew the bitcoin price will bounce back to its current high price,  although its bit panicking but we must keep beleive in bitcoin because it surpass many trials and proven its strength for these years pass.

there is no need to panic at all. let others do the panic selling, and make yourself benefit from that situation by buying as many coins as you can. buy when people are selling massively, and sell when people are buying like there is no tomorrow.

The future of bitcoin still shine bright, if bitcoin ever fall down that low, i will buy a lot, because i know bitcoin is going to bounce back, there are several times bitcoin through difficult phase but somehow bitcoin survive

If the price will drop to $280 I would not sell at all that price is just way to low in my opinion. So I sugegst that if this happens again that you just hold on to your coins.

I agree selling for only $280 is not a good deal at all and I am sure that you wont be able to make much money. I suggest that you wait a bit for the price to go up so you can make more money and a better profit.

The chance is not that big that it can reduce so there is a chance that you can make an investment now around this time and that would be not that bad.
So you also can see now that the price is rising slowly so that is perfect for the currency itself.

yes its not very good idea to sell it in 280$ dont lose hope for bitcoin its always bouncing back like what happen in history if price will drop to 280$, well thats the oppurtunity to other guys buy more btc becaus its time to get profit and save more, although many people do sell their coins  and lost faith but those who beleives and hold will be bless for its bounce back.

Hold, because BTC price will go up again. There are a lot of daily BTC users, they buy and sell BTC every day. So BTC price is around 400$ - 450$.  ;)

Exactly, this is too old topic, and we will never see that low price of $280 in future as its almost $450+ at this stage and it will keep on rising in coming months.

People said exact same thing in 2013 when the price was 1000$ and expected btc to become 40k$ in a year. Look what happened after a short time.

It is not like that, If the prize dropping to 280 USD people will buy more BTC and invest on it and whoever already save BTC for increase prize like 1000USD, they will hurt,those people will not going to sell now until it increase value.

if bitcoin prices decline, even declining to $ 300 then keep hold bitcoin that you have, and believe bitcoin prices will go up again, well that's ever tried  :)

We need to have faith in bitcoin, if price drops then it will rise again in future, we just need to have some patience and don't get panic even if price falls extremely.

If the block size does not increase soon, people cannot have fast transaction, they will not use bitcoin, they will use Ethereum.

Price will not drop again with $200 mark, at its mark now with $400, I think it will end this year at $700 due to the effect of the halving fever.

This is not the right time to sell, hold it for next few months at least till the halving stage and you can expect best returns on your investments.

What return on your investment do you realistically expect from the block halving? If I hear you talking it seems to me that you think the price will go up a lot.

No one can predict what will be the price at halving, its just an speculation, and don't listen to what other says, if you want to sell you can do it right now, nobody is stopping you.

Don't sell anything without careful thinking. Nobody can't predict exactly how the price will look like after halving but probably will go up. At least for a while. So, just be patient.

Yeah and lets hope that this halving show us the better picture of bitcoin as till this stage it has been really boring journey.

I never listen to anyone here on this forum. I always do my own research. I just got interested in knowing what price he is expecting since he is talking about getting great returns around the block halving. Which I of course don't think will happen.

Same as I,  i dont really listen for people here saying bitcoins gonna drop sell your coin because majority of them is just a troll and knowing bitcoin is strong e curriency and if you have faith with it you can earn money with this and i can say its very rare for bitcoin to goes down to 280$ and i it will never happen again on what happen in past because bitcoin gains trust for todays online marketplace.

Bitcoin will never drop that low again, we are on the stage of improvement, with the help of the halving fever, because of the hype the price will continue to rise and later we know its already in the moon. Good for us investors.

The price of the Bitcoin is not going lower and that is because it was already stable for a long time so it have to rise now in the future and the halving is also coming towards to us and that would be nice.
There are now many people that is holding their coin because they hope that they can earn more profit later.

Yeah now we will experience higher price in coming months, and halving will surely add some value to the price of bitcoin and will help to take it higher.

yes I have the same opinion as you, when the price looks very low, I am sure in the future it will definitely increase.

This will definitely make you hold your bitcoin for some time that will be low value but you can still do something that is to start buying bitcoins for it is cheap and it will make you have more investment for this is actually a good price you will be able to save a lot and possible high amount of earnings once you get the right time of selling your bitcoins you have more to offer. You can even save them in your wallet while waiting for the right price value. I might be able to do the same thing this is good business buy and sell.

if the price drop under 280$ and you bought your BTC for 400$ better to hold it , and wait for another price hike, you already risk too much, if you panic and sell those btc with 280$ under and you will lose alot of profit, my advice is just wait again.

Holding your Bitcoin will be now the best thing that you can do and that is because the value of the Bitcoin will also rise in the future and that is nice.
But of course you cant know what will happen but it takes a long time until the value will be higher.

you're right, I guess hold bitcoin is the only way to make our losses are not growing, well maybe we can also add us to play bitcoin trade, it might be able to cover the losses due to the price decrease

I have strong confidence in halving, so I had hold bitcoin as much as possible when the price of $450. so I'm sure I'll see higher prices in a short time

my reply probably late but i have a suggestion if that will happen again if you know that bitcoin will drop price just convert your btc to dollar or what your currency is then wait to drop then if bitcoin price drop convert your money to bitcoin again that will help you to have more bitcoin and if bitcoin price goes up again you now have profit haha that what i do know on halving

I think that if the price would be under 280 Dollar that that would be a good price to buy your Bitcoins for. The price will be higher then that in the future so you will be able to make money.

I think bitcoin price dropin before halving is just common this upcomming halving.Las halving remember that bitcoins price drops from$500 to $200 and sudden pump price to $1200 and after few days it goes back to its average price of $500 after halving.Dont be nervous of bicoins droping price just remember the last halving.Just hold it and wait

The price of Bitcoin was low indeed and stable for a long time but now you already can see now that the value started to rise so that is really nice of Bitcoin.
The best thing that you can do now is that you have to hold it and that is because you can make some more profit later in the future.

If the price would drop under $280 then I would go and buy without question because I will be sure that I would be able to make a profit if I bought for that price.

I would hold without a doubt because $280 is a pretty low price and as yo can see right now the price is allot higher then it was. So if you bought then you would have made allot of money if you sell right now.

Holding or selling now depends on the entry price, if you bought at $280 then you can sell it right now and secure profits but if you feel that price will go high at halving then simply hold it.

The price is not going to drop under $280 because we have left that behind us and that price is way to low to go back to. It would be good for the people who really want to buy coins but I do not see it happening.
If you want to buy then you should buy now because the price is not going to be any lower then this.

Very truly said that in Dec 2014 it was less than 280 $ and currently it is @ 670$ . 10 days back it rose to almost 760$ per btc. So a huge profit in taking if holded btc.

280 seems to be a very very long way. The halving is next door and the forex market is having trouble giving investors roi.

Well i don't really understand you what you mean, as price at this moment is 630$ so it is much more than 280$ actually, so i think that this thread is pretty old

but if bitcoin, or any other currency, would fall that low, of course that we should buy as much as we can, as bitcoin price usually goes up after some time so you would even earn some profit

before if i am know bitcoin before i can make more profit to become rich in the future.. but this is not the same as before the difference that the price of bitcoin is start in 280 and increase fast until 1k value on 2013 before.. for now the best is to hold more bitcoins sell it when we are emergency.

Such steep drop in price won't take place. Also we can't make any precise statement, anything might happen with bitcoin. Possibly if this happens rather than selling I would hold and make further buying at the lower price which has been missed.

It's not recomended to sell the bitcoins before the halving even if the price drop down, because it's expected it will going up after the halving.

This kind of topic should make people think, should I sell my coins because the price still low , even being worth 600 dollars already, or should I hold them for a medium long period?
I remember the price last year from 200 to 300 and not crossing those value, I had sold all my coins because I needed the money but now I can collect and save for the future.

it is expected that the price increases high after halving, so there is no chance for the price to fall below $280 and if the price experience any such drops, dont sell just hold on, sure it will increase again.

Remember back at time when bitcoin price dropped to $280 and at that time i really thought that bitcoin will die or unused,i thought bitcoin price will more fall and drop until $100,but until now its never happen,its why i still believe that bitcoin have many people who want that bitcoin price still on top.

As investor, we are more concern on the trend and that is real that we cannot detect the future of bitcoin, however since we believe that bitcoin is gong to be big in the future we should not limit the imagination of its price because it will surely increase its value.

I think the general trend of the bitcoin price is up. The price will go up in the next 3 to 12 months after September.

The OP is saying about 2013 when Mt.Gox exchange crashed and the price fall from 1000$ to 280$ that time we all thought that its a doomsday but today we are at 665$ so this is how anyone can became rich if they know when we have to grab the opportunity.

Did the price really drop that time. I think it did not. But if for example that will happen today from 700$  bitcoins price will fall down to 250$ then I will choose not to sell. I'm sure the price will go up back again. But given the recent price trend in the market the price breakdown is nearly impossible.

Even if price falls at a moment it will never go to that low price of $250 so I think there is nothing to worry at a moment as I feel that price will start rising in next few months.

If price drop under 280 usd i will suggest to hold, it will rebound in price.  There are proven history that Bitcoin always rebound after  it decrease in price.   Besides people are very happy introducing Bitcoin to their peers, just wait for sometime and the price will rise again.  More users, more merchant, more adoption = more demand.  Patience is all that you need here.

I read a post from theymos on reddit and he believes that bitcoin price can't go lower than 400-450.

yeah I think to this day seems impossible for very sharp prices could fall more than 60%. but if the price next time it will happen. of course I'm going to hold it come on bitcoin prices would definitely go up and down and if you hold bitcoin then you just need to be patient

Exactly that would be the best price to invest money in bitcoin but as of now I don't feel that price will go that low and if it does then its an best buying opportunity for all of us.
