If something is wrong the console window closes automatically. By adding a "pause" stays open. Can you please copy paste here the logs so we can find the error?

minting work now without errors but the nxt balance will be effective after 1400 confirmations.will this affect minting work or not?

Nxt is a POS based currency. After 1440 confirmation you will be able to forge a block and generate coins. Forging doesn't affect minting or the reverse.

I would suggest something (if you have a good enough CPU)

if you don't mind waiting a little longer per ELEMS

you can change

where the unitsPerMint is higher than 1NXT=1ELEMS (because of the minting fee)

It might take an additional hour or so to find something but you will save 1NXT every time you find something.

So for example
means I will end up spending 1NXT=2ELEMS and so on.

You can do this with any of the MS Currencies.

what files did you edit?

I would try...

1.) Close the nxt java file and your "mint.bat" file

2.) Download the latest 1.4.8 NRS located https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-4-8/ if you haven't done so already.

3.)  Copy->Paste the files included within the "nxt" folder that is contained within the 1.4.8.zip file you downloaded over the current "nxt" folder you downloaded previously. So it will just replace all the files that may have been corrupted with newly untouched files.

4.) Do a "Replace All" when it asks you to select what to replace.

Be sure you don't touch the "nxt-default properties" file. Create a copy of the properties file and edit the files in the copy you just made with the parameters described in the OP.

OR

1.) create a copy of the nxt_db folder that you have in your old nxt folder. (This is the NXT blockchain folder)
2.) Copy that into the newly downloaded NXT 1.4.8 client "nxt" folder
3.) Create a copy of the "nxt-default.properties" file and edit the files in the copy you just made with the parameters described in the OP also rename the copy "nxt.properties".

I did that exactly and now it says the currencycode is not specified.

Got it to work!! :) So I think my problem is I was using notepad and it was formatting it wrong, so I switched to Notepad++.

there should be a tab on the left side that says "Monetary System".  Where you click "Currencies" ->"My Currencies"(top right should be) to view the currencies you have minted/bought so far.

Previously when I check your account it was a new account with 0 balance. Now the block explorer says that you have 10nxt, so can you try again? You need to have some nxt in order to start minting. Also is your blockchain updated? Try again and tell me if the error persists.

nah a minting transaction costs 1 NXT. Which is why you need to have a small amount of NXT to start minting.

So you put your parameters at 1NXT=1ELEMS (unitsPerMint=1) or you could do 1NXT=100ELEMS (unitsPerMint=100) anywhere in between and maybe even more. Just depends on how lucky you are with the CPU you have. The best rate would be something above 1 just so you aren't exchanging 1ELEMS for 1NXT.

If you have 10 NXT, and do a 10 unitsPerMint then every 10 ELEMS you get will cost 1NXT. The thing is you need to be lucky or have a good CPU to get that 10 ELEMS in a timely manner (depending on things like difficulty and such as well). Since you won't mint anything until you reach the 10 ELEMS point and if you quit before you mint anything you don't get anything. Where if you don't get any more NXT beyond that, at the end of minting all you can with the available NXT you have in addition to having a spare in order to sell. You could do 90 ELEMS and use the last 1 NXT to put an exchange up in the 'Exchange Booth' to get even more NXT (depending on the market and the Rate of NXT per ELEMS others are selling at).

yup. Just depends on variance, cpu and how lucky you are. The higher you set your unitsperMint the higher the difficulty to mint a block becomes for you. The higher it becomes the more likely it takes longer for you to get anything.

It could be instant with unitsPerMint=100 or it could be days if not weeks if you are unlucky.

Just a helpful hint - I have an 8 core CPU and am minting 100 ELEMS for 1 NXT tx. It takes me about 1 day to get the 100. In the long run - if server disconnects or you lose internet connection, you start over at 0.

How to know if it's start over at 0? I had mine zero coin yesterday maybe that's the reason

I think if it starts the compile count back at 0, then you'll know it has reset or you've completed the 100 elems.

This is not a VPS, it is a VPN exit IP, shared by multiple users. Just like a tor exit node, it can happen that at some time somebody is abusing it to send spam or malware. It is only port 7874 that points to a Nxt peer node.
