Title: [ANN] - ELEMS - NXT MS Mintable Coin - No Premine - No IPO - Fair Distribution Post by: elems on January 11, 2015, 09:35:39 PM SPECS NXT BASED Total Supply: 84 000 000 ELEMS Minimum Difficulty: 10 Maximum Dificulty: 150 Minting Algorithm: Scrypt No IPO No Premine DESCRIPTION Elements (ELEMS) is the first MS coin using Scrypt Algorithm and the first MS coin that people start minting. ELEMS had no initial supply (pre-mining). We believe in fair distribution. At the moment there is no GPU miner. Everyone can use his computer to mint ELEMS. We want to build a great community and add value to our coin. NO PREMINE! NO INITIAL SUPPLY! NO IPO! FAIR DISTRIBUTION AGAIN! Simple question. it can't be mined in the way Litecoin, Bitcoin, etc. is mined. (different coding) But yes it can be mined (or minted as the term with NXT) using the mint.bat miner that comes with the NXT client. In essence, in the same sense that Bitcoin and its alts can be mined. NXT MS Currencies can be minted. The Monetary System (MS) allows users to launch new currencies, securing them with the Nxt blockchain using the second-generation cryptocurrency’s established network, rather than requiring that developers create a coin from scratch and bootstrap it with its own network. It it the source code of NXT: https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/src Title: Re: [ANN] - ELEMS - NXT MS Mintable Coin - No Premine - No IPO - Fair Distribution Post by: Damelon on January 11, 2015, 09:47:57 PM I don't understand NXT, this coin can be mined by miner or not? Minting a PoW MS currency requires a transaction to be placed on the Nxt blockchain. You will need to fund your account with NXT as a mint transaction requires a 1 NXT fee. The good news is that you can mint a PoW MS currency by multiple units at a time rather than as a single unit of currency -- but this will increase the PoW difficulty of the minting operation for you. Nxt is a POS based currency. After 1440 confirmation you will be able to forge a block and generate coins. Forging doesn't affect minting or the reverse. I would suggest something (if you have a good enough CPU) if you don't mind waiting a little longer per ELEMS you can change Code: nxt.mint.unitsPerMint=1 It might take an additional hour or so to find something but you will save 1NXT every time you find something. So for example Code: nxt.mint.unitsPerMint=2 You can do this with any of the MS Currencies. :) Title: Re: [ANN] - ELEMS - NXT MS Mintable Coin - No Premine - No IPO - Fair Distribution Post by: theboccet on January 12, 2015, 01:30:32 AM minting work now without errors but the nxt balance will be effective after 1400 confirmations.will this affect minting work or not? Be sure you don't touch the "nxt-default properties" file. Create a copy of the properties file and edit the files in the copy you just made with the parameters described in the OP. The minting for a coin like ELEMS can be done in the same Nxt client. No special mining software needed. It's CPU mining only, such as in the early days of Bitcoin! Everything is starting all over again. Be one of the first in a real second generation cryptocurrency! :) So proud on the Nxt-devs! You can mint more than 1 ELEMS at a time and only pay the 1 NXT tx. Change the units minted in the config file to 2. Title: Re: [ANN] - ELEMS - NXT MS Mintable Coin - No Premine - No IPO - Fair Distribution Post by: bidji29 on January 12, 2015, 07:27:25 PM You don't have to mine coin one by one. You can choose to mine 5 or 10, or more.
Since you have to pay 1 nxt everytime you mine, it's best to choose a number big enough to mine like 1 or 2 time a day. Example : if you choose to mine 1 by 1, and you get 1ELEMS/hour. You get 24 ELEMS at the end of the day but you payed 24 NXT So you just have to change the seetings to make the minter mint 24 ELEMS. At the end of the day you get the same amount of ELEMS but you pay only one NXT Title: Re: [ANN] - ELEMS - NXT MS Mintable Coin - No Premine - No IPO - Fair Distribution Post by: wakasaki96744 on January 13, 2015, 02:07:00 AM Can I change units minted to something like 15 instead of 1? You can but it may take longer to find something. You could make it even nxt.mint.unitsPerMint=100 to 1NXT for minting but it may take multiple days to mint that much. I would suggest nxt.mint.unitsPerMint= 2 or nxt.mint.unitsPerMint=3 or so if you feel that your CPU is strong enough. Or if you don't mind being patient or are just lucky with higher numbers. It may take a couple hours at least for 15 unless you have a very good CPU or are just lucky. Which is why you need to have a small amount of NXT to start minting. So you put your parameters at 1NXT=1ELEMS (unitsPerMint=1) or you could do 1NXT=100ELEMS (unitsPerMint=100) anywhere in between and maybe even more. Just depends on how lucky you are with the CPU you have. The best rate would be something above 1 just so you aren't exchanging 1ELEMS for 1NXT. If you have 10 NXT, and do a (unitsPerMint=10) then every 10 ELEMS you get will cost 1NXT. The thing is you need to be lucky or have a good CPU to get that 10 ELEMS in a timely manner (depending on things like difficulty and such as well). Since you won't mint anything until you reach the 10 ELEMS point and if you quit before you mint anything you don't get anything. With 10 NXT you could do 90 ELEMS (if you set it at unitsPerMint=10) and use the last 1 NXT to set up an exchange in the 'Exchange Booth' where you can set your sell rate at a higher price than your buy rate. (depending on the market and the Rate of NXT per ELEMS others are selling at).
