The way activity is calculated: The activity number is determined in this way: time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration activity = min(time * 14, posts) Activity is updated every hour. But in simple words i think it means 14 activity in 14 days But let us suppose a person stays offline for 2-3 months but his post count is more , so will his Activity rise even if he doesn't come online or post [I know that's completely irrelevant since it depends on time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration) but just clearing things.. Also what if suppose a person have 500 activity and 500 posts and he hasn't posted since a year How will activity work then ? If a user didn't came online then the Activity won't change at all . activity is calculated using your posts made in any 14days timeframe,you get 14 activity for this but if you are online always but don't make posts then activity don't increase Title: Re: How is activity calculated?? No, just have a look back at theymos' formula: There are two numbers that come into this - total number of posts (activity will never be higher than that) - number of two-week intervals in which you posted multiplied by 14 So if you post 400 articles when you first log in, your post count will be 400 but your number of two-week intervals will be one, so your activity is 14. When you get back to the forum 14 days later and post (not just visit), you've got 2 two-week intervals with postings, so your activity will rise to 28. If you stay off the forum for a year, the number of two-week intervals with posts from you obviously does not grow, so your activity is still 28. When you start posting again, your activity will rise to 42 since now you have 3 two-week intervals with posts. On the other hand, if you post one or two articles per week but without long interruptions, your activity will not be determined by the number of two-week intervals but by the total number of posts. For example, if you post one article every week for a year, your activity will be 52 because that's your post count.
