Well im at online income around something like 5 years ,i had invested something like 4000dollars before bitcoin at several places,being something like half ot that into forex,then ptc,doublers and hyip projects i had left with something like 90 dollars in the end of those insane investments.After bitcoin,being a part of this group i may say im recovering the loss made into the pass ,and the best thing is im not wasting anymore my time and even half of the time i spended before .Bitcoin is changing my life,now its just an extra income that i get from it but when i remember the bad things ,investments made in the past ,and see and know that im getting a montly income,and reducing all the lost money and i believe in some years or maybe months i would be recovering those,what make me pissed is i could had those money and be able to grow my coins todays ,but well we learn when we make a bad investment ,a bad decision.Share your histories,dont need to show all but a part of how it were before and with the bitcoin.

Bitcoin help me a lot to work online easily and earn fast than before. Before engaging with Bitcoin opportunities i lost good amounts of money invested with fiat of course, and i invested a lot from my pocket, however today i earn some income from Bitcoin's opportunities and it's really helpful

I haven't actually lost btc actually I bought 1 btc for testing at the price of 236$ USD and it rosebud I didn't sell it yet saving it  ;D

I've lost some Bitcoin from a scam charity and also a scam shop, but logically I never lost anything. Because I never buy the Bitcoin, but I always earn it online. ;)

I suffered small losses in 2013 and 2014 (largely due to poor and emotion-driven decisions during my first attempt at trading). In the last weeks I've managed to compensate those previous losses, cashed out the majority of my crypto (wasn't that much anyway) and threw the remaining dust into some vague altcoins in an attempt to grow a sizeable amount of Bitcoin out of almost nothing. It seems however that this plan has derailed for the time being.

I've decided not to buy crypto anymore with money from my bank accounts but 'generate' them via trading and paid Services.

Started off with a meagre amount of BTC. Made alot through some lucky good buys on alts, and then took a big beating on others. Ended up about the same.

I have lost around 1 bitcoin from scam shops and websites. I have also lost some from gambling, but not much as I am not addicted unlike a lot of other people. But I couldn't really say that I lost my bitcoins as I have earned them through the internet. The coins that I have bought, are still in my bitcoin wallet.

i had invest 0.2 btc at golden-cows.com in 2014 but never get ROI because this site is become scam already and since that happened i will stay away from fonzi site because i believe every ponzi is pure scam

From 4000 USD to 90?  What were those other investments?  Can you tell us specifically what those are?

I was not much lucky Bitcoins in the beginning , i got scammed for approximately 500 $ for the first time and it was not all cause the horible chat at scrypt.cc made me invest some coins in that ponzi shit ..and maybe some more at gambling .
anyways ,if a user/newbie is active on bitcointalk then he saved himself from 99% scams or BTC losses, which i regret.

I think i have lost perhaps about 0,5 BTC by placing them at a few exchanges who didn't pay me out.
If i use an exchange now, i don't let it stay for a long time at these exchanges. Only a few days.

Forex, a bad investment? I don't think so mate. I have been a forex trader for almost four years with good results, although I have to admit that my first couple of years were really hard.

My current interest in bitcoin has come precisely from my forex broker, which is nowadays promoting the btc as a new payment system.

not much around 2 btc in some x2 doubler at the time, when there was huge demand here and there, and plenty of scammer

but the big loss here is the missed opportunity at the beginning, to acquire easily many bitcoin, this was the real loss for many here

and my big lose in litecoin ~1.5 and paycoin ~1.2 and my yahoo+gmail account get hack i lose 60.000 stellar + 3btc  :'(

At the first time I lose it many times. But times gone I won it.

How did you manage to recover your prior investment losses by using bitcoin? Are you day trading or investing in bitcoin based stuff? Would be nice to know how you managed to get 4000 back and in what time.

Yes that's a lesson many had to learn at the beginning.
Leave your coins at the exchange and you take the risk to never see it again.
Rule no.1: If you don't own the private keys, it's not your coins.

Ive lost in total about 1btc , i think around .4 in a wallet that i lost when my phone died and another .5 on a bad ico buy. Actually including all the altcoin losses ive made i woiuldnt like to add it up.

i dont remember how much,but i think i'm often lost my bitcoin,and it have many reason. sometime i lost when trade scam coins,or buy coin with bad future.
and i also lost bitcoin on scam investement,its a bad experience.

income from this forum in a scam. {roughly 4 BTC} I also lost some on cloud mining and Ponzi's and got lucky during the Mt Gox, to have withdrawn everything, before the shit hit the

fan. I knew from the start that this would be the Wild west, and everything you do here, comes with relative high risk.  ::)

i only do trading from time to time. buying low and selling high has made me a decent profit throughout 2015. you will need patience for this, and definitely not be greedy. i take profits not too early, but i also not wait till the last moment.

I lost about 0.1 worth of bitcoins in gambling i really regret it and regret it until now :(

Technically I never lost any bitcoin since I never bought anything but I lost my hard earned bitcoins to dice games and that cex cloud mining. Basing the price today, lost maybe 3 million satoshis on  dice and 2m satoshis on cloud mining.

So I haven't really lost anything big. I have lost a couple of gambles but I gambled with money I could afford to lose.

Almost 4 month i knew about bitcoin. During that period of time, i already spend around 0.5BTC i believe. Thats huge man, for me. The biggest won i have got, 0.04 BTC. But then, i spend all of it again. Im very addicted to every gambling now.  ;D

Sure i had invested at forex around half of those value,i didnt know what it were when i tryed,on first order i had made 150dollars profit,then i had travelled 12 hours with my orders open and well when i log in i saw all lost then i deposit again.Another one were the bids websites that were selling computer ,macbook,tv,and bids cheapers then the real cost,every bid increase a 1 cent dollar,i had won one and well they said i didnt won because were not correct the product.The rest i tryed with several ptc,neobux,onbux,clixsense,and more scam ptc websites,and doublers ,share profits,and hyip were the last ones.Those all i had made on my first year trying to earn something,then i have done some captcha ,around 1.50dollars 1k captchas i made something like 30 dollars solo and the rest it were the money i had taken out from those programs before became scam.When i joined this forum i didnt believe we could earn btc doing signatures,i didnt believe till search deeply i had joined and well got paid,since then im earning in btc more then any investment i had made before belong to bitcoin community.

Well I just lost only 0,052 Bitcoin in to gambling I didn't want to bet a lot.

At least better than me. I lost around BTC30 in the Litecoinglobal scam. When that site closed down, all my shares became worthless and I lost the coins. Right now it will be worth some $12,000 (almost my one year salary). That said, I bought these coins when BTC was going at $10 per coin. So my real loss is something like $300.

Atleast you lost into the begining ,imagine you had lost today those bitcoins what a nightmare it would be.At bitcoin world i had lended on btcjam and well i got paid a good fee ,and some loan just burned me out but in the end i had roi and profit into it,before bitcoin my life were a mess into online income as i were investing and loosing ,todays im just earning .

Before bitcoin i were giving money to others,scammers,honest websites and projects,nowadays with bitcoin im recovering slowly all the money lost before it.Soo bitcoin is my future and the main project that i can be happy to be part.

A few years ago I lost access to a wallet with about 0.75 BTC in it.

I've been margin called countless times on OKCoin Futures, and been burned on some bad alt coin investments.

Well atleast you tryed jackpots even with small odds to win,but well you lost those money to lotery i lost my 4000 to scammers and forex,but well were only my fault to play with something i didnt know.

Well there is only some small group that are able to make more then 1000dollars montly with bitcoin,some exchanges,and some projects,but well the most people collect bitcoin with signatures and faucets or captcha work,in the end we are really able to earn something online,50 dollars montly doing almost nothing is something that before bitcoin we had to have several referals or be lucky buy premium and rent some referals... todays anyone can make a good income montly.

i cant remember how much i lost my bitcoin,i just remember i lost some of my bitcoin on scam site,scam investement,and its make me tired for invest,and never count how much i lost it,i just let it go.

Back then, I was invested in a company here in our country and have some pretty decent percent of the whole shares. It was working pretty well before it collapsed then bam, away the money went in an instant. Lost some kind of fortune in there including my parents' money. Fast forward 2014, I stumbled accross bitcoin. Looked thoroughly into it and tried to see whether I could make some out of it. Started with faucets and after familiarizing myself on the how's. do's, and don'ts, I bought some. It made me hesitant at first seeing that my investments shrink rapidly, but I never gave up. Starting from single-digit holdings, now I am a proud owner of double-digit bitcoins--actually, a bit greater than my initial loss, but still worth a ton.

I lost some 500$ in numerous multilevel marketing stuff. I joined one, never earned back money. Then I joined another and same thing happened. I just never learn. Never earned much bitcoin yet, I am trading small trying to earn some bits.

Sure the bitcoin collected must have a place to be directed and start a new project is always the best way to get even more bitcoins,the fact is bitcoin is making and allowing all of us to get a revenue very good and be part of the best community .

I lost about $250 from choosing to invest in an altcoin that didn't work out (though isn't dead; just isn't going anywhere really). Got some of the value out, but definitely not all of it. Also burned ~$1200 on a little altcoin mining rig for fun.

On the plus side, that rig is still up and kicking (minus one dead card), and has probably generated around 6 BTC in its lifespan so far, maybe a bit more (spent/sold some, but kept most of it). At current prices I'm in the black, and depending on how Bitcoin interest develops from here on out, things could work out rather well; retroactive profits feel pretty great ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

5 months ago before i came here i lost my bitcoins around 0.08 btc in any scam investment site that makes me feel pain until now.
Because i earn all my bitcoins before in faucets all day and every day. then in the you will be scammed.
That why im here in forum because of investment site that scammed me and finding a way to get back my bitcoins on that time...
Then also i lost in some gambling site like dice game.. that you will win in the first then in the end lose i think all my lost total is 0.5 something..

I have never lost my money online simply because I have never invest any money. All I did was investing my time. Well, I make a few posts everyday and earn some Bitcoin. I uses these Bitcoin I earned to invest in more things. Even though my Bitcoin based site http://bitrevenues.com/ is not doing well, I am not losing anything. I converted my time into Bitcoin and than into experience. I have also bought several physical products using Bitcoin I earn online such as Gaming Mouse and more recently, a tablet. :).

im new in bitcoins, and acording to my blockchain wallet total recieved ive lost around 0.20 btc, lost all in gambling

I had lost around 0.13btc into an altcoin that still alive but well has nothing to offer,but i learned that we can profit doing small and short investments ,medium and long investments into trading must be with ammounts of 2btc and above.

I saw mostly lost bitcoin because gambling. my advice immediately stopped. before all your money will run out

I have lost quite a few Bitcoins.  I recently lost .02 in a website called Hourlyweb.com  This site has locked my user name and password and ways it is incorrect.  So when I ask for my password, it says I am not registered but then when I try to register, it says I am already registered.  Just another scam.  I also lost with BTCFlex and a few other sites.  I think I have lost a total of about 2 BTC.

Well is a wise decision even when you got a small ammount,the thing that make you believe that you can earn and make your balance grow fast is amazing,in the end the most always loose a part of their investment others,well they profit and keep doing the  exchanges,and investments.

What do you mean income? Like, how are you getting an income off Bitcoin? because signature campaigns don't pay enough to clal it an income.
To make a steady income, you would need to be steady selling monthly, in a perpetually-upraise of the price so you don't end out of Bitcoin to sell, which is not the case.

I lost a big amount on HYIP/Ponzi. when I really do not know with that the investment system HYIP/Ponzi.

I am addicted to gambling I won, I lost and that is a part of gambling sometimes you win sometimes you loose, but I believe that it is the best way to grow my bitcoins as no other way can earn me bitcoins in the quickest way as gambling does, But as I have won more then I lost so I am enjoying my success with gambling when it comes to bitcoins, and I only gamble on my favorite sports like cricket, soccer or tennis or else I don't gamble, and yes gambling is fun for me.

I had lost around $300 in bitcoin few months ago and after i am more careful to make any kind of investment into ponzi scheme or hyip program although i am playing on gambling site and this is nice for me.

I also into list among of those people who lost some coins for bad decision to make invest into hyip program and little part of it for gambling habit so that i don't want to remember what i lost there just moving ahead with positive mind.

I can not remember how many bitcoin I lost in vain, because I used to run into a scam at several websites, and deceived by some people, but I do not regret it, because I get it free of charge, and maybe there are not as many bitcoin I have spend it on useful things :)

I lost big amounts invested in some HYIP and Ponzi schemes which turned into scams fast.
That's why i don't invest in such schemes and advice anyone to be carefull before investing there

Right now bitcoin is a bit too expensive for me to invest in it. If the price doesn't go down then I might not have the chance to invest into it. I think I got into bitcoin a little bit too late to buy in cheap.

Well, I haven’t lost much of bitcoin. First, was through investment, but luckily I didn’t invest much, I just invested $10, so I won’t worry about that one, next was through a useless bitcoin wallet that calls itself bcoiner, I lost about $100 in it. They just stole my coins for nothing, luckily I didn’t keep my all bitcoin there, I was just testing their wallet, I make use of xapo and coinbase, and they have been a trusted wallet.

ive lost about $15 worth of bitcoins at this hyip couple years ago. i was new to bitcoin, didnt know about the scams at that time lol. and ive profitted about 80 bucks by buying low and selling high couple months ago. but ive stopped doing that now.
trading with bitcoin requires too much attention to the prices and it just wasnt worth it.

Yes, I also haven’t lost my bitcoin before. I am always careful with my coins, and I don’t do investment online, because I am not interested, I just render services to clients, and request payment through bitcoin, though most of them don’t pay with bitcoins, they pay with payoneer or PayPal, so I haven’t lost anything, I am always careful with it, I also have some bitcoin, so I am not joking with it.

In 2014 i lost some of my coins in GAW miners + LTCgear.
After that 2015 i learned from my mistakes and did not invest in risky ventures.

I once lost my about 28 mBtc in a forex trading site, and $50 worth of bitcoin in investment site. They claim to be legit while they are scammer, but, that doesn’t bother me, because I have recovered ×10 of what I have lost online.

I lost around .001 btc in  a cloud mining site which went scam.
I was still fresh to bitcoin and have lake of experience so I trusted the site at first

I have had luck (or blessing by God) as I have invested in several HYIP sites, about 8 of them. Lost money (about 5-10 $ in btc) in 6 of them, but managed to do about 1 full bitcoin of profit in two of them before they closed. To earn that I had to invest about 0.45 BTC, and sites closed and run away with about 1.30 BTC more, but still I got 1 BTC of profit.

The weird thing is i lost a lot and earned a lot. But in general i am still at a break-even point.

Maybe a 1K + when i compared it with my current holdings. But still i've been here for almost 2 years and got such a small profit.

I've lost 2 bitcoins in several scam, hashie en ltcgear. Overal that is not bad since i have made 3.5 btc profit.
My first tip for newbie's would be. If it sounds too good, don't fall for it.

People step in to bitcoin for profits and that's why we see so many scams happening.

I lost my first bitcoin in a casino game site, but, that doesn’t mean the site is a scam, the site is genuine, is just that I don’t know how to play that’s all, I just invested $22 in bitcoin, and I lost it the same day, since then I am not much interested in making investment through bitcoin.

I have lost some Bitcoin profit on alt coins and mining but never been at a loss with Bitcoin. I'm up and have been since I started quite some time ago. Before Bitcoin I did make some silly investments and I'm sure I will again in future. Just won't be the same mistakes.

I have never invested in the ponzi hyiap schemes that you did OP and $4,000 is kinda crazy to giveaway like that. The saying always rings home when you see doubling your money etc. To good to be true? Usually is. Glad your making your money back now.

Didnt really lose or gained much. Only lost about 100$ in gambling, on dice sites.

I didnt invest at ponzis i played easyforex,and well first trade i made 150 euros ,the thing were i didnt know what i were playing ,soo i had lost the most of those 4000 dollars ,a big part over it and other at some webside that we were able to bid and buy things cheaper.One thing that bitcoin gaved me is the opportunity to recover those bad investments.I dont invest more then 10 dollars at any project website,i learned my lesson ,last time i lost an account in game worthing above 100 dollars but well i hadnt the email and the support sucks.

I have been studying Bitcoin and its characteristics for some time so I haven't lost anything yet. Only gained. The problem with people that have lost from Bitcoin are the people that are either not doing research or they're not doing any personal observation and making swift strategic moves.

Well the most of us had lost something in the past ,and some are and keep loosing bitcoins,i made a bad choise into some altcoin that lost value ,besides those all my investments roi and i had profit from them.Now i avoid exchange as i know its possible to make a good return the same way we can loose.

That's a good part, I have lost sometimes in gambling but in return I have also won, so its vice versa, sometimes I loose but I make sure that whatever I loose I recover in the next session, but overall I am in profits as I have won more as compared to the coins that I have lost.

I lost only $30 in it since I started with investment programs that promised to double your coins. I know never trust them again. Then lost $20 from a turd that I bought using perfect money and never sent the coins. Typical scenario if you don't know what you are doing when exchanging.
I think everybody has gone through these growing pains when getting into bitcoin at least once.

I've lost a total of 15 btc in all the gambling sites i played before.
But before that I already won on the sites. then i become greedy,
wanting to win more and more. in the end i lost it all.
Its a good lesson for me. As for now, I dont gamble much anymore.

Yeah addiction begins when you win at a initial stage, so if you are gambling for the first time and if luckily you win it makes your over confident and greedy and you start believing that I can win more and at the end of day you loose everything and that is common thing when it comes to gambling, if you want gamble, then gamble for fun don't make it an addiction.

There is many invest site which scam or ponzi. So we should wise to choose investment site. But you have good experience and will not repeat your mistake in the past

Wow 15 bitcoin is worth very much. It is indeed a risk when you gamble.
My advice to gamble stop or at least reduce the amount bet so that you can collect and make a profit do not waste it because the 15 bitcoin not value a little.

One of the reasons i had left the gambling,i just were betting at sports,besides the ods being something around 1.30 from the bet ammount i had won some but the risked money at each bet doesnt worth ,from my experience with a 15 btc i would had tryed forex,since now i know what it means,always a risk but would be harder to loose as can set a stop loose ammount.

I am investing small amounts of money in BTC now and observing how it goes and how BTC price moves, I invested in HYIP's before but it wasn't a profitable investment "not sure if it can be even called an investment".

Lost less than 1 BTC from MTGox when I was storing my faucet profit in there, understood bitcoin more now and holding my bitcoins in a normal PC wallet .

The thing is we wanna always to grow our income ,soo usually the ponzi take our interest,and we always will invest at them because they offer a good return,thats why the ponzi and scheme projects sucess to steal money from others.

People losing money over a hyip/ponzi is not an attachment to bitcoins.These types of scams are present in every currency around the world and will always be wherever money is.

We don't just throw money in order to increase it.No,we don't invest only newbies without any knowledge of scams will.That's hardly a success IMO.

Many people sell it too quickly and therefore they are often angry at the value.

Only won with Bitcoin... Smiley Not much, but at least nothing lost.

I've lost about 0.0061 by my HDD failure and lost about 0.02+ on copay wallet (actually i'd the backup but i cannot spend that money when i restored that backup to updated copay and finally i even lost that 0.02 too) and (i didn't remember how much) i've lost some on my mobile wallet when i restore my mobile.

Totally i lost about ~0.1.

I haven't lost anything, I've only gained ever since I've earned Bitcoins by doing tasks and small freelance jobs online. I don't really mind how the Bitcoin price is at the moment, since I've not invested my personal money or exchanged fiat to Bitcoins.

i invested less than 0,5 BTC in some HYIP's in btc world but already left those, I am not buying btc but trying to earn them actively on forums and giveaways.

Throughout my bitcoin career.I already earn big money online thats the time when i still not addicted to gambling.I can profit on trading everyday abiut .01-.05 btc a day.But all that change when im addicted to gambling.I pulled out all my funds on trading and transfer it to gambling and sadly i lose it all thats ny very wrong decision.Now im just on trading and in thisbsite making sig campaigns.
