If there is any apparent reason of this pump then I can't seem to see it . However ... I'd say that the price won't reach 500$ in the next two weeks (before the end of December) but there is chances that we will start the new year with 500$++ within the first couple of weeks of January , price should continue to rise slowly and we may see pump when we are too close from the halving block reward date . (Let's say June) .

If it reach 800$ that's the great news for us. and I will change my bitcoin to Dollars on that time. I can get investment for my home needs with bitcoins

Might be able to buy my dream gaming rig when it reach $800. Looking forward to it and I will be saving my weekly btc to cash out when it reach that value. Hope to buy a new account too so I could also join another campaign :)

My guess is that we will start 2016 with a bitcoin price of $550-600.

From my point of view price is very stable with huge buy support with amazing demand i think price will get next stable floor around $500-$520 at the start of next year.

I'm just enjoying the prices trading around $450 levels. Your views are more exciting, $3200 levels are most surprising prices when you hold huge number of bitcoins. By the way many people are speculating for 10k prices or even one million in long term. Any particular analysis behind the target of $3200?

My view is we must go higher because i need to get out at break even $1023

As always good news is always welcome and usually a sign for the drastic bump up in price. It is took quite a drastic jump now as I just finished reading the article. People spending in this currency at this time does help too for driving it up.

As a professional friend of mine said: At $20 billion market 'cap' the big boys will start to take notice, the real big boys.  You will have some serious power money flowing into Bitcoin then, and the price could easily hit somewhere between $8k to $28k.

Why crash January? Could you tell me what will be the reason If bitcoin crashes on January time. Because no body expect the bitcoin rate will crash in any time. Please share your views and reasons If Its crash.

2 years in a row, same tendencies. 2013 and 2014, find the graph youll understand what I mean. Anyway it's my prediction, simply a opinion based on last years experience.

i can only say that those who were advocating a crash below 400 were wrong again, it's so obvious to me that we are playing the range 4xx-500 right now, previosuly it was 3xx-400 and before that the 2xx-300

the pattern is so clearly that you can't be confused at this point, but it may take a while without a furious increase, to reach the last ath, i think they want to push it slowly until the halving, could be a good strategy...

I don't think we'll have a run near ATH, we don't have a Gox situation anymore.

Price is stepping out slowly, but constantly. Only next hours will tell if this trend continue. I am looking for some increase. But if there will be a dump again I will buy.

I think it will hit $500, but then drop to around $400. The drop will be somewhere around christmas. I believe right after it.

I don't think there will be a fall at least not a serious one cause it looks like a large number of people are getting their funds into it but it could also be a strategy again by taking it slow and steady ,its all speculation though and could go wrong as hell.

I don't think it will crash next month. I'm hoping for bitcoin to reach $500 before the year ends. Even if it does crash, I'll still hold until bitcoin reaches ATH. That's when I'll start selling but who knows, maybe you're right. If it does crash I'll be able to buy some more and hold then.

I'm very happy to see this happen. Bitcoin is really close to hitting $500. If it keeps on going up, we'll be able to see $500 by the end of the week or maybe the beginning of next week.

Maybe then you should check the charts more accurately plus the fundamentals which have changed a lot over the last 2 years.
In November 2013 this was a pure bubble, exponential growth.Now we see a way more stable and healthier growth!
In 2013 we almost only had Mt.Gox as big exchange dealing more than 60% of total volume.
Now we have split this this through more exchanges, plust full regulated ones in the US.
The user base has grown, the VC investment since last is exploding.The whole infrastructure and ecosystem had become much more professional.
Sorry to say this but your crash will not happen.We will some corrections which is normal, but nog big dump down lower 200 will take place.Halving is coming.We have found possibilities to for more efficiency regarding blocksize with SW and so on.
Probably Winklevoss ETF will start in 2016.

Reaching $450 is ok. I have seen these prices plenty of times already, it doesn't do much for me. I start to get excited once we reach at least $600. All prices before that are just, mwehhh.

Many people also speculated that bitcoin price would reach $50-$100 when the price was $500 in November. It's just because many wanted people to dump their coins instead of holding them. I only believe coinbase articles as they give reasons and predict the price but with regards to bitcoins, there is no surety. Currently, the price looks to again reach $500 and then decrease (may be).

In general there has been a lot of nervousness in markets ahead of the next FED meeting, where it is expected a raise in the USA interest rates. It seems likely an approach to $500 band, but not longer at least for this 2015.

It is starting to look it is not going to reach that mark this year. A lot of doom and gloom from the US news about the interest rate hike and high debut loads on the American consumers. It is not looking so good now and that always affects the bitcoin price in an adverse way.

I hope that it's going to stabilise around the $450 region. Currently at around $440 so I would hope for another small pump :)

Once halving hits, I think the price will be way over $450, that will definitely be a huge pump for the Bitcoin price.

It is really promising this current trend because it seems more sustainable and consistent than the previous dump to $500, which was unexpectedly fast. I hope this trend continue at least to the $600 level.

That is the major issue with bitcoin that it never remains stable, and that is the reason people start talking negative things related to bitcoins, but its good to see bitcoin reaching $450 at a moment.

I believe that it would go up to around 500$ by june and 650$ by december of 2016. I hope I am right about this :)

Let's go back in the late spring to these predictions. For now it seems that $500-600, should be the maximum for this year, if we have just halving. If there is something more in the cards, then we can go beyond that.

Like seriously, how can some one expect the price of Bitcoin to become stable? It will not happen next year, and not in the years after that, if ever. The market cap is too small for any kind of stability. It's a roller coaster where you need to be prepared for heavy dumps.

This is the third or four time I see it raise to 450-480 and after some days dump hard to 400 or lower. I think it will happen exactly the same this time, perhaps at not the same exact prices. So I am not expecting to reach 600 in the sort term or anything like that.

This time, the price rose quite slowly and there is good consolidation. The price will not drop a lot in the future.

I'm waiting for it to reach at least $480 in the coming month before halving as then even if it drops it should not go below $350-$370 which was the price last month as well. I am not excited with these small increments as I have just 2 - 2.25 BTC which I bought at $410 last month.

By the 2015 end the price of bitcoin grow gradually without much fall. Still it has not lasted long over $450. Now the price has been increasing with certain drops. So we can expect the $450 in another few weeks.

the price level between 450 to 460 seams to be a very strong resistance point as the btc price failed to break through it many times in the last three month. but I believe this will not last more time and by the end of march the price will bypass $450

The buywall is at about $400, shifted from $360 a few months ago. That is something I am fairly certain of. If it wasn't, we wouldn't be above $400 today, after yesterday's dump.

I don't know whether prices will cross 450 by mid of march or not but I think it will happen sooner. Lot of consolidation is happening around 420+ and soon it will cross the 450 resistance level. Once it cross than level than mostly prices may go up to 480+.

$460 is a very strong resistance. But if that level is broken, the price will go to $800 at least in the next few quarters.

of course we all will be very happy to see 500$ price, best thing from that is that if we'll keep this huge price till halving, after halving, price should be large, so we will be really, really happy then

I believe it will reach this $450 goal of yours by March's last as it has raise $5 since night when I woke up this morning. If it can achieve this every secon then it will reach this no problem even with the lows.

Considering that the market seems to no longer be swinging under $410 during the small dumps anymore, I think it is safe to say that it is entirely possible to see a $450 value in the nearer future, but there might still be some people wanting to sell as soon as it cracks $450. This might make a stable $450 hard for a little while yet.

I think this month will not be stable prices at $ 450, I think maybe next month the price will stabilize above $ 450, because the current price of bitcoin is trying to achieve a price of $ 450.

In April, I think the price will still be around $420, trading between $400 to $450. Then in May or June, the price will rise to $500.

i'm also with this, seems the common strategy to increase slowly, now, because anyone that is seriously believe that this market is not rigged with its market cap is a fool

By suppressing the price, they can accumulate more bitconi in the cheap. When the halving come, they will pump the price.

It's already hovering around $430 as of the moment, and there's still two weeks to go till May. IMO if it should run stable at this level then we're slowly gaining the momentum towards July.

Yeah but it has really been struggling to reach $430 as in Jan it was $450 and since Jan, the price reached a low of $380 and a high of $415 (while being stable for the entire month of March). For the past week only it has been increasing by 1-2% daily. At this rate, we could reach $450 by May and it wouldn't be stable.

It's not possible to reach $900 dollars and if it does, never buy bitcoins at such a high rate as it will drop the next day just like it happened in 2014. I am sure there will be more sellers in July rather than buyers which will lead to an unstable market which I fear. $450 is a good rate to buy and not to sell.

Something like this was bound to happen at some point, there was no way the price could have kept increasing exponentially without a correction or two. A change of $20-ish dollars isn't even that major in the world of Bitcoin to be honest, we see things like that every other day.

If the big guys behind the scenes want to have the price above $500 then it will happen in a matter of days. At this point the price can go in any direction. It may go up to $460 again or it can go down even below yesterdays low of $435.

To be honest after the price of bitcoin stay for a long time at range $420-$440 and when we see the price can reach more than $450 it's seems like bull  trend has started.

Yes last two days were very bad days for those who have large storage of bitcoin as they were waiting from about more than 4 months and were very happy with the price increase to $467, but at the drop down $440 everyone felt heart pain.

I think that Bitcoin's price will still around 400-450$ till the next halving, and i don't think it will increase highly before the halving. but after this event it's possible that Bitcoin increase highly again.

Support is already near the 255  region so i t makes more sense to test the levels; 470, 485 and 500 then to stabilize around 450.

You must be noob around here, there's no such thing as "general adoption", only idiots and fools looking make a quick buck off Bitcoin halving in July. I hope you ain't one of those fools, because you won't see 800 this year, may be 600 if you are lucky. The most realistic scenario is Bitcoin rising to 500 due to halving.

The price of the halving is already in the current price. There is no room anymore to go to 500 dollar I believe. Simply because we encounter too much resistance every time we come close to 500 dollar. So buying to profit for the halving is just a dream.

it's not very often that i agree with you, but in this case i do. there are way too many noobs believing the price to reach insanely high price levels just because of the block halving. the hype is complete now... reaching $500 or prices slightly above the $500 level is the most we can expect. after that there is no more halving hype talk. after the halving the price will either settle above $500 or it will come down to todays levels again.

Anything 10% and up i consider that as a crash because there is a high difference when the bitcoin price crashes, i think that the bitcoin price for this month will stay similar to the actual price and maybe max of $465 at the end of the month.

It is possible. But the weekly chart says that it won't happen at least based on the recent performance of bulls and bears. Today's low is at $435 and can keep up to a margin of $5 above. We can see the slight resistance here.

Yeah there is no scope for price drop now, the rise is slow but it will continue to rise till we reach the halving stage, and I think we will achieve $500 before the halving.

The bitcoin reached $490 today. That is a break out from the current trading range. So the price will rise further.

After a long time we have seen this price and I am sure it has brought smile on majority of users and I think we will see some exciting price at the time of halving.

Me too, I hope the price will continue to rise and we are receiving a better value of our earnings online. Because of the price increase of bitcoins it gives more hope that I will earn big on my previously both bitcoins that I am holding for a long time already.

$600 during the halving time is possible. The halving will happen on 10 July, that is about 40 days away.

I think $600 will be achieved before the halving and we may see some higher price at halving, my expectation from halving is to see price around $800.

I know some friends who dont know bitcoin just invested just cause of this, based on reddit posts. So I`m pretty much ready to buy once I see it go back around this $500 zone again if it drops.

I also think reaching $600 before the block halving is possible, but I don't know for how long that price level will be maintained. If enough people keep pressing the price down then the support will eventually not hold and crack down. Any price above $500 is a great thing. I am already happy.

I think that this is a good thing and that good things could happen with in the rest of 2016. The price has to reach $500 with in 2016 other wise we can not call this a good year for the Bitcoin.

Apart from halving, which will increase the value of the existing bitcoins, the block size will also increase.

As you can see now you see also that the value of the Bitcoin is now rising slowly and that is really nice but of course you dont know when it will stop rising and that is the problem.
But if the price keeps rising than people with already Bitcoin are now waiting for a higher value and they will sell it.

After the increase of block size, there will be more transaction in each block, that will make transaction easier.

I hope the block size can be increased soon. That will double the bitcoin price to $1500 or even hgher.

The bitcoin price is held low due to the slow confirmation time. If the block size is increased to 2MB, the price could triple.

The blocksize will allow more and faster transaction. Having the amount of transactions doubled, doesn't mean the price is double.
Same with the halving. It's just a lower reward compensated with a higher value so miners can keep their mining process going on.

Laughing out loud at the price resting. You're not seeing the big picture. Big money wants in. They want BTC by the thousands, but they can't get that volume OTC anymore. $700 to $800 is so manageable before the halving, if you can notice the price is starting to rise a little bit and it is not going down that much, this could be a chance to see another abrupt increase on BTC price.

everything is possible with the price, i wouldnt be surprised if during a big pump 1000 dollars per bitcoin would be reached in just a week as people would want to make profit

I have changed my assumption of the future price after the Bitfinex hack. I think the price could be $600 in a week.

of course the price is going to grow back, i think that in a week we might even reach such big heights as 650 dollars per bitcoin though anything might happen with the price

well yeah, right now it is hard to reach something big because people just dumped their savings that they had in bitcoins, unfortunately this made a lot of people have a decent loss

I know somebody has bought quite a lot of bitcoin in the last few days. He thinks it is good price to buy now.

I also think it is good time to buy some bitcoin now. The price is still very cheap compared to the price in June.
