i hope  1 week before halving .

$1k is easily achievable now and I don't think we need to wait longer to see that price, may be we will see that price at the time of halving.

True, that it can really be achievable since now the price of bitcoin is double from the past year even the halving event does not even happened yet. So yes it's just a matter of time where this would happen.

Everyone is nervous about halving so you won't know if this is going to happen. Personally, I hope the increase is slower but steady. When it is increasing too fast, you know it is bubble and not going to be sustainable.

none of us have a time machine so we can't say anything about this, we have to wait and see when it is going to happen.

but with this market i wouldn't be surprised to see $1000 withing one month.

yes i am waiting before halving , but you know after halving bitcoin price rised more  and more ( april 2013 - 266 usd , november 2013 passed 1000 usd )

so can we wait after halving  continue to rise ? or people will sell and  price will fall again ? this is the point .

and now the market is different . very different if we compare with before halving in 2012 .

there is not any exchange that control market like mtgox ( 70 % ) , there are other serious projects at market .

ethereum - dao - waves - lisk so probably this conditions also effect the price .

I think it can happen in 2-3 months. bitcoins is rising currently and it seems unstoppable.

I am always realistic when we are talking about the Bitcoin price. I think that it is going to depend on what is going to happen to te price after the halving. If the price keeps rising after that I think that we can hit it this year.

As i mostly say 1000$ will be hard to cross because it is ATH price till now. But I think 800$ could be the price just before halving, but after that what will be market movement, is hard to predict.

Well, I am really hopeful about bitcoin to reach this price before the halving. but this thing is really unpredictable, but at the halving bitcoin will cross the 1k$ mark for sure.

I think the price of bitcoin will fall down again because almost 90% bitcoin holders just ready to sell their coins when the price increase at the time of halving.. price will rise again after some time when the collectors start buying again.


yes. lots of different altcoins are launched and they'll probably effect the halving and the whole situation but really don't know the type of the effect the give.
they may increase price of themselves and it may effect bitcoin price more.

It looks more and more likely now from what we have seen over the last couple of weeks, this month could be a possibility.  Question is once it hits that mark how many people will keep holding and seeing just how far this can go or will we see a huge rush to sell?

$800 will be achieved in next couple of days, we may see this price by the end of next week, and I am confident that the price at the time  of halving will be $1k.

As I have said before, I absolutely believe that we will hit 1k soon though perhaps not before the halving. I expect 1k to happen before year end in any case.

its possible if the market allow it :) but i think when the time btc reaches 900+ mark many btc holders will exchange their coins that will make the btc coins goes down again

I don't think so, $1000 will be touched very soon, majority of users believes that this will be the price at the time of halving, so now we don't need to wait long to see this  price.

Yes, I'm not worried to invest my real money to be bitcoin. and it makes me can earn some profit from bitcoin at increases price. I certain with bitcoin future.

we already passed $700 i think this is good moves and possibility to reach $1000 seems pretty big but i guess we will see bitcoin prices reach to $1000 again after halving or may be next months but again this is only my speculations

Seems that it will pass 1000 usd very soon,and by very soon i mean i the next few weeks maybe even before halving,real question for me is if the price remains stable after it reaches this limit.

Honestly its risky to choose if the price will continue to rise in 1k value but if you can afford to lose. the only thing that i can suggest better to buy just a little partial of your money to bitcoin.. so that you will not regret in the future.. and you can still make a profit even its a small amount..

bitcoin now stands at 740USD. and about 250USD will touch the figure 1000USD. I believe, because the last few days could rise up to 150USD bitcoin in just one week. bitcoin was incredible and can do anything.

Exactly price is moving up like anything and now we can predict and expect much higher price at the time of halving and now everyone believes that anything is possible with bitcoin.

Let's not forget that the last $1000 price were caused by the Willy Bot and had nothing to do with real supply and demand. Yes, it will be nice to see $1000+ again, but I think we are not going to touch

that again. We might see $800 to $900 just before the Halving, but after that the price will go down to about $500 and it will stabilize there again. This volatility is not good for merchants and the only

You could argue that the current value is being propped up primarily through speculation, which it is, but $1000 might not be out of the question if enough whales are willing to keep the buywall high. It is entirely possible that the value of Bitcoin will decrease rapidly and then stabilize once the miners find the price they can sell their Bitcoin for without having to accrue debt.

$600 as a baseline for the miners seems a bit more likely than $500, but I have no numbers to back that up.

I believe that the price will cross 1000$ when the halfing happens. So my advice for you is to buy bitcoin as much as you can

I also think this will happen when the halving has been done or maybe even when it starts because the future of the bitcoin is pretty good and its rising now already.

In my view the price could reach by the mid of July. Its just a prediction and nothing sure of it, with a calculation corresponding to the ongoing growth percentage I have made the prediction.

It will need more push from the manipulators, meaning more bags of coins to be bullish on the market. Relying alone on halving speculations to purchase coins isn't enough to take the price surges to $1000 week before the halving ETA.

I think at the end of this year bitcoin will pass $1000.Now price is very high and approaching halving.

There is no way that we'll see $1,000 without a lot of manipulation or other forces acting on the market. $750 is already a giant leap, and it would be even more surprising to see a value that borders being an ATH. Speculation simply isn't reliable enough for the market, and I could see up to $900 but $1,000 is out of reach.

It could reach 1000usd a few days before halving
imo, but it wouldnt really last long, because there will definitely

from 420-450 usd it risen to 750 usd in 1 month . dont forget that . bitcoin can do that . can double triple or even x10 in short time .

it doesnt matter the price is 750 can be 7500 usd easyly . its not so much different from 150 usd to 1000 usd . just it is bitcoin's specifications .


i hope you can understand me . from 750 to 1000 is 30 % only . not so much . dont take your border at 1000 usd . can be 2000 - 3000 - 5000 - 10000 .

but ofcourse maybe 0 . all possibilities . but we know it will not happen . we dont know but we feel at least . and there is not mtgox at the market who holds 70 % of btc .

today when i post this, bitcoin price reach $750 and its highest price so far,and i think it will continue rising,might until bitcoin halving come,and i feel bad when i dont have bitcoin. i think bitcoin price will stay on $800 until halving come,its hard to get $1000

The possibility of bitcoin going over $1000 again is there but I don't think it will happen nearly these days before the halving. I've only expected bitcoin value to cap at $850 by the time of the halving and it might either go down or go up right after because I'm not sure whether people will dump or continue to hold.

The price is up $300 since May 27th, so 20 days. If this increase continues we will hit $1000 on July 2nd.
In the last bubble the rate of increase kept going up and up, until it came falling back down, so it could actually happen before July 2nd.

That said, this could be the peak now. No one knows, but it looks a lot more likely now than it did 3 weeks ago!

Expected for a while that the peak was $700 especially when the price decreased after reaching it but here we go to ~$750, i feel that the price will continue increasing during June

Prediction is useless in the world of volatile market, but all the signs are indicating that it might gonna pass $1000 soon enough probably before July.

Looks like everyone is so serious and well expected about halving hence you will not know how much this halving going to treat us with high value. may be 1000$. Jus look at the past 5 days its increasing very faster and its not going to sustain. lets draw all yours.

I think it is more sustainable for the price to rise 3 dollar a day. The present rise is too fast, not sustainable.

It's around 760$ at the moment and keeps growing. I think it doesn't really need to wait until halving, it will probably achieve it sooner and then pump even more at the halving. Maybe 750$+ will be a stable price after the halving.
As it is naturally growing to higher prices, it wouldn't surprise me.

If you look at the chart we can expect such a thing in a month or so. But it's not realistic if you ask me.
I see the price go up to 1k in 6 months to 1 year. Not earlier since it would be x3 in 1 year which is not possible.

I will start believing in reaching $1000 prices as soon as we reach the $900 price point. Then for me the exciting times will start. As long as we haven't reached $900 yet I prefer to stay calm and enjoy seeing the price at these high levels.

Maybe it will this month or the next month pass the 1000 dollar but it will happen and I think it will even grow a lot further than the 1000 dollar itself.
The halving next month will do this, well there is a high chance that this will give the final push.

it is already $774 today and it took a very short time to get here.

the rise from $550 to this stage was super short so from now on the rise to top is also getting shorter with very small resistance.

i say in 1 month we will go past 1000 and in another month over 2000

Very fast, if price continue to go up with this speed. You say week before halving, I'm thi its higher probability for that to happen in weeks after halving .

I'm guessing we will see much higher price then 1000 $, maybe we can set up new all time record. For me that is very possible, many new people joined, people trade with btc and some other alt coins more then ever, adoption is higher then before.. there is more facts why btc can rise even more then ever before.

i agree, it think it is possible to touch $1000 before the halving and to be honest i wouldn't be surprised if we even see $900-$1000 by the end of this month, bitcoin is on the rocket and when this rocket starts to move up it can no longer be stopped.

That will only possible if the price is also rising in the halving so it have to keep rising otherwise it will be not possible for you and that would be bad of course but the price is now rising at the moment so that is quite nice for people who already have Bitcoin.
And I see that the most are also holding it for a long time so you can make some huge profit if you are selling it on the right moment.

Bitcoin price to reach 1000 USD before halving sound impossible to me. Bitcoin halving is going to happen in 22 days. Unless we can see the same tread for the past two weeks, I do not think we will see Bitcoin reaching 1000 USD before halving.

Anyway, my personally prediction is probably late this year or early next year if everything is smooth - no big exchange get hacked etc. Hopefully we will be reaching the four digits mark soon.

Yes, the price will drastically fall down if there'll be less demand of bitcoin. But I don't think demand will be less in near future. After the halving few miners will move away from mining and those who'll mine will not dump. But somehow if anything worse will happen as we've seen back in 2013, the price will fall down even might hit below $300.

I bit agree on what you said that demand on bitcoin will not decrease that much because we can see different site that use to buy bitcoin.

A month back, i was seeing price was gradually going up and i was of the view that till halving bitcoin will end up at about $800. But see what happened in just  last 2 weeks. Price is rising tremendously. Now now we are near 800$ already. So this time again we can go beyond 1000$ at halving. Such a great news for bitcoin holders.

You kind of got my point wrong or I made a mistake in explaining it properly. What I said that those who'll quit mining after halving will probably not dump for cheap but those who'll still mine will surely not dump for cheap.

I think bitcoin price will cross $1k just matter of week. We got news from reddit AUS celebrate their $1k reached. So, USA and EUR will join soon their respective 1k. I think before halving we can see new top for sure. This is not just a hype. bitcoin is now flying in skyrocket, unbeatable  ;D

Right now the market had it's first major downfall which means every step up from here will go much harder. The days of 50 USD rise at a steady peak are over. If the rise was due the halving, then we may find a new price, else (chinese) I hope to see another rise, but 1000... nope.

I think 1000 are still possible in this rally, but it would be near the peak. I don't think the uptrend is sustainable enough for a new all-time-high. We may already have seen the peak in the 780s.

I expect a "sustainable" 1000 USD in 2017 or 2018. Even if after the halving we see a crash, it's improbable that we will reach the levels after the MtGox fiasco (100-200ish). I would predict a bottom between 400 and 600 between August and October and then a new slow rise. But the new rise will only happen if adoption makes progress, because the "story" that drove the price up now (the "halving") won't be there again.

I'm thinking maybe August or September if we don't see a crash before then.  And I think a crash is definitely possible, but I'm not hoping for one.  I still find it hard to believe we're at 750. 

I believe 100percent and no doubt that it will reach $1k. But this won't be anytime sooner. It will go down once more but after that I feel it would consistently grow and grow.

Well that is normal since even I who just started journey in bitcoin last year, this is the second time I feel the thrilling price surged (first one is the big rally to $500 from $300 last year).

And if the trend will just continue, it will build and strenghten the pre-halving speculation so definitely it's realistic to believe that we will touch $1000 and if possible, the new ATH. More push from manipulators.

I give it a couple of weeks now. I think there will be several millions migrating to BTC as soon as they unblock ETH transactions on poloniex.

The price today went pretty high up to $776 and comparing with the last week where the price was $576, we can calculate and see that the price went up exactly for $200 within a week, I believe that $1,000 will be passed at the end of the year.

I definitely remember that the year 2013 BTC price hit 1000 per usd. I think it could happen again in 2017 that was the most opinion I can get here. The halving is near watch out and I really so excited to experience it again.

I have realized that for the las three weekends the bitcoins price has increased around 20% each weekend. From this perspective, it would not be difficult to see a price around $1000 in a couple of weeks, July 2 is my prediction,  just to celebrate with anticipation the independence day of USA  ;D

what you think about dao bug  , will effect btc price ? many people sold their dao for btc , and ethereum  and after some of them bought cheap daos and ethereum .

With the current rise in the prices of bitcoins, it is very likely the bitcoins to reach 1000 USD within a month at halving. This will be again an historic moment in the history of the bitcoins.

Perhaps it was a thought out plan to cause a massive amount of panic in the markets to get themselves a nice entry point in the market. If that was the case, then their plan has succeeded.

Yes as they are the one who are starting the trend. If they will insert again at least multiple attempts after the price trend they started become slow, the price will likely start again to a fast trend.

Also keep in mind that those price manipulators always not eyeing on the price trend, they can also start a price crash even halving speculations is there.

China is an economic power and some of the biggest exchanges belong to China.

It is only $250 away, that could be easily done in a day or 3 once it decides to move.

A normal manipulation can increased the price for up $100 rally, at least an average of that range.

The chain effect of it will be the one who will extend that price rally.

So all in all top achieve that large rally it will depends on the effect that manipulators will start.

China was responsible for the last ATH of 1200 in late 2013. China is again responsible for the recent price rise to 750+. Why is it so hard for some people to fathom the importance of China when it comes to every aspect of bitcoin? China manufactures mining hardware, China buys and sell the most bitcoins in the world, China shoulders the most hashing of bitcoin miners. China OWNS bitcoins. It is the center of bitcoin world. Get over it, peeps. While you westerners slept, Chinese worked extra hard to gain the most bitcoins. While you laughed and taunted China, they have cornered the market on cryptocurrency. It's definitely possible as the market is due for another part of the rally to continue. I hope when we do finally get to see the $800 level that we manage to stay above it and not fall back to current prices again.

Yeah it would be good to see if it remains stable at $800 price, and if it reaches there then majority of people will sell their some coins and secure the profits and that is the right thing to do.

Then it doesn't get stabilize. IF people will try to sell their coins when it hit such amount then it will affect the price and fall down. This is because of a sudden decrease in it's demand.

Everyone wants to earn profits, you cannot expect that people will not sell their coins if price goes higher, people are investing in it to earn profits not to just hold them, you need to sell your coins at a right time rather then waiting too long.

At first it might indeed not hold very long as mentioned above due to people selling, but if the price is heading up it will manage to settle above $800 as the demand coming from China is too strong to sell through. Now the price has gone down it will take a longer while before we get to see $800 before the halving.

You are believing that the price will go 1k value but this is not sure that the price will be 1k value because bitcoin is unpredictable and we are not fortune teller to know the real price after block halving but for me i think the price of bitcoin will be 700-800 value this is i think the best price of bitcoin after block halving from 400 price to double the price. if you understand what halving mean.. if the price is half by 12.5 it means from 25 btc to 12.5 the price of bitcoin will be double from 400 level before so it will 800 value..  this is just my speculation but anytime the price can be change..

And yesterday sell off on banks was not caused by Brexit,Derivatives market crisis will drive btc price above 1000$ for sure

Also it's not that for example $400 price today after halving it will become $800 or etc. , it's not like that. Miner rewards will be the one who will experience the mining rewards. Chain effect of it is the bitcoin price. In general, bitcoin users will still be the one that will decide if the price will increase or decrease depending on a price trend that will happen prior and after the halving ETA.

The people have already noticed that the Max Price increase was 760$ in the last few days. Then it went down and price are still hovering near 680$. I think if it again reaches $750+ , people  will sell this time for sure. So we can see some real changes in the price of bitcoin in nearby days of having.

I don't think sooner we will see 1k $ for Bitcoin.I will be much more happier to see stable price in this current range of 630-680 $ than quick increases and decreases which harm overall the adoption and investment procedure.These huge uncertain changes scare common man as the risk becomes higher.

I am pretty confident to see price over 1000 $ after or just before halving of bitcoin.I am not saying this speculation will be permanent but it is one of the possibility in price.Overall after correction and accumulation price will have floor of 600-700 $ which is pretty decent to see for longer period of time.

The oft-cited factoid I see thrown around is that since the supply is going to go down, naturally the price must go up.

However, it seems that people are ignoring the 15-some-odd million bitcoins currently in circulation. They're not going to disappear after the halving.

Now, that said, I am a bull (currently own a bit over 4 BTC, break-even price is at 681 because I waited too long to jump in), so my most realistic prediction would have to be May 2017 for our next $1000.

I think it will max at $750-$800 next month, and I intend to sell when I can. Brexit didn't give us the boost I was hoping for, and the markets (for now) seem too placid for any large-scale jump-ships from traditional markets to cryptos.

I think that the price is soon going to be $1000, I predict that it is going to happen at the next rising.

I think we need a few more months for touches 100 USD. I believe the beginning of the year 2017 could be the beginning bitcoin reach that number. bitcoin is currently priced at 650 USD. need 350 USD again and it was quite hard going in the near future.

Until now, all I predicted in this subforum in 2016 came true. I predicted a pre-halving pump in the 700s. It got as high as 780. And I predicted also that after the halving things would slow down. The only thing I missed was that I predicted more volatility in July - I thought it would go faster to the bottom, which I expect to be at 400-450$.

Now, to go back to the topic: I expect we will see $1000 in the timeframe between mid-2017 and mid-2018. Why?

First, the little halving bubble must deflate now. It will go at least as low as 550-580, if not dip into the 400s. But if Bitcoin stays above $400, then the general expectations are bullish. Then we have managed to hold a significantly higher price level than in 2015, and this will build up confindence in the current price levels. But such a process is slow and we have no halving and no other "significant" event in the next years. But in mid-2017, if we still are above 400, confidence in this price level will be so high that we'll see more buyers again and probably a buildup to 1000. In bull markets, the halving really could become significant, because when there are few sellers the miners' supply will be crucial.

I hope you are right - the price is too high for me right now to justifying an investment - I have a lot of (speculative) buy orders waiting around the 400 mark for if the price does drop.

Thanks for being too optimistic with the price of bitcoin, I too believe it could happen but totally not this year mate. That is too aggressive estimate and if you are too confident with that, you should put a decent amount of money, you gain 100% of your investment when that happens.

I guess we'll see the 1000$ figure when demand reaches that point. In my perspective reaching a milestone only based on hype is not safe and did damage back at 2013. Now in todays reality Bitcoin is stronger each day and here are the facts:
1) People have been accumulating coins at approximatelly 600+ dollars for over a month which represents how resistances are build (nobody wants to sell for less than he bought).
2) We had the halving and it works like a charm, less coins are put into circulation every day and the demand is still on the rise
3) Bitcoins gradually go to more hands! That's the base point of price appreciation, we have a non inflatory currency split at 21 million parts and 7bn people to use them  ;D

1) Actually yes especially when the price keeps silent after the halving ETA. The resistance around $650 is nearly noticeable and it was just being spoiled by recent sh*t activity resulting for a price decrease to an average margin. If there's no spoiled things happen (which isn't actually not possible, at least..) I wonder where are we now, maybe still sitting at around $650. :)

I think after the ghost month, the Chinese are going to buy again. We might still see the price go down to mid $500s so that they can buy at a bargain, before they try to push it up to the high $600s again. I am not saying that they alone can control the price, but as we've seen before, the large buying spree made by the Chinese sent the price from $440 to almost $800 in a matter of short time. I would expect the price to be at the $650 level by October with an aim at $750 towards the end of the year.

My opinion is that the price fall back was done already, the current increase is the next chapter of price and we will reach another $600 in the next few days, and $700 this month alone, the hack is just a temporary panic to give the whales more chance to buy and make profit so we should side with them on that matter.

We can't say the exact date but here are the things that I think would make the price of bitcoin rise that high again:
(a.) A new big time whale has entered the game. Of course he would need to buy tons of bitcoins to join the game of Bitcoin trading. (The whale could be a person alone or a group of people. It could also be an exchanging website, etc.)
(b.) The majority of people has finally come up to a realization that we should use bitcoins. A lot of people start to buy bitcoins, combining all of them together would surely pump the market.
(c.) Existing group of whales has decided to pump the market for profit.
(d.) Someone or some company does a pump and dump scam.

That's better thing to do, hold your coins for next couple of months to enjoy higher profits as price will be much higher in the end of the year, so its worth to wait till that point of time.

I'm a little worried because it seems like many people are just looking at bitcoin as an investment that will make them money but the possibilities are so much greater. all those big auctions coins are not going to be dumped right away, the person who buys them knows what he is investing in and would want a decent profit and will not sell at $600-$700 be sure about it.

besides the bitfinex hacker can not and will not sell those coins this fast, he (they) will wait until things settle down and slowly will start moving the coins in small batches and sell so that nobody even feels a thing.

Although Chinese cant alone control the price movement but a combine move from all the miners and investors from china give the bitcoin the trend they want it to me and then all other people follow the same trend of bitcoin prices buy or sell.

If it happened that they will buy again then that would be all beneficial for the investor as we can see another price skyrocket of bitcoin. We are still waiting now for that increase and i think it could now justify the price increase because of halving if they will buy huge number of bitcoins.

first of all, i think large players have already accumulated enough coins for the coming months. so in that case i wouldn't be waiting for a new rally this year. and second, i think the price will keep moving below the $700 price level for the rest of this year. mainly because of the fact that there is not much to look out for for people.

Price is going down at a moment and that is really disappointing to see, as everyone was expecting that it will cross $600 by now but nothing is happening according to the plan.

i prefer seeing this situation than see the price stable at least you can get advantage from it if the price sitting around $584-$592 not much gap you see so what you can do it's just hold your coins if that you still have some coins in your wallet.

You mean $1000 for 1 BTC. And of course it is unrealistic today or tomorrow. We have to blame Bitfinex for current bad situation.
They tried to recover once more time and failed. At this point I think it would be much better that they just accept their bankruptcy.

Small fluctuations that are roughly $6 or whatever in size are typically negligible within the entire scheme of things, and only changes beyond $10 really matter. Anything within the $10 can usually be corrected by the market and recovered from within a day. Anything below $10 can basically be ignored, during a single day trend. Anything beyond that and it starts to matter a bit more.

Yeah because of that incident the price did fall instead it is on the way to rise higher but what happened is opposite. I hope that the price is going to pass again to $1k and if that happens for sure I'm going to sell 75% of my bitcoin and going to hold again the remaining 25%

i don't think that there is something unrealistic with bitcoin, with such volatility we can see 400 btc tomorrow like we can see 1k btc in the next days  :)
i would say that we will see 1kBTC in the future again but the question is when?

   Many members here hoped that bitcoin price will pass 1000$ before halving, that didn't happen as everyone can see, but I also hope that bitcoin can go up to this price. I don't know when, and I`m not so good in predictions, all I can do is to hope that will happen very soon.
   People are talking before this new year, that would be great for me. I have some coins, and that means my stash will worth almost double then now. I`m gathering coins on many sides, when ever that 1000$ price come that will be good for me, sooner or later it doesn't matter.

Only time can say,cause no one knows  bitcoin can still hold for a long time. For now lets wait ,for some changes in price this upcoming months.

I predict it will happen in early 2017. the current state seems quite difficult to penetrate 1000USD in 2016. some graph shows that at the beginning of the year usually occurs fairly high rise.

Yeah it will take time to touch that price as it doesn't seems that demand is high at a moment, in fact people are selling their coins looking at the price decline.
