I have been discussed with some members of PokeCoin community and a takeover is in place.
No planned change to the existing core code for the immediate future.
No planned change to the POS percentage or algorithm for the immediate future.

I have been working for PokeCoin and the new website ( poketrainr.com (http://poketrainr.com)) and  here are the updates so far:

UPDATE 2:

The mining pool:  pool.poketrainr.com:81 (http://pool.poketrainr.com:81) - Yes, it is running on port 81, as on port 80, I have mono http://www.mono-project.com (http://www.mono-project.com) running for the mining pool ( I can reverse the whole setup, but I am running multiple projects at once, and I admit, I was a little bit lazy, and just pointed the pool to port 81 and mono to 80)- But is working.

The whole setup is pretty intuitive, but I will make it even easier, so even a newbie can do it

    Download the X11 cpu minere from here:  http://poketrainr.com/go/mining-pool/  (http://poketrainr.com/go/mining-pool/)
    Edit the file RUN-X11-gw64.bat and replace the poke address "Pmag3qRGoSgT63D4UjmUtowEABCEywZ6mg" with yours;
    Edit the file cfg.json and replace  the "threads" : 3, with the number of CPU cores you have;
    Double click on RUN-X11-gw64.bat  and you are mining PokeCoin

 Pool fee is set to 3% ( for the first month) then it will be modified to 2%.

I have set the fee to 3% as the process of takeover can be a little bit expensive  and I need some funds for a new feature. ( keep reading and you will find out).



UPDATE 3:

I am running another project where I want to launch a helium balloon into the stratosphere. The first helium balloon released into the stratosphere from Iasi, Romania. Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by space. I always knew there are many things waiting to be discovered.

As Disney said, "ideas come out of curiosity"; I I took the words seriously and began to follow my curiosity, bringing it to another level. Therefore, I want to launch a weather balloon into the stratosphere. It will measure temperature, humidity, space radiation and make some spectacular photographs of the Earth's curvature.


So I want to increase the awareness of the PokeCoin and I will use it in my project as well.

The first flight was on APR, 28-th,  but the balloon had a short fly ~170 meters, as the atmospheric pressure didn't helped us to reach higher altitudes, so we had a floater.

We did however captured the balloon and the whole setup, after  40 minutes of chase.  It had a rough landing on a pond, then the pond grass, then a wheat field, then it bumped into a wire fence, then it took another hit ( eaves).
The good thing is that after a good run in the mud, I  did catch   it, the cameras are ok, and I have a few funny moments of the whole thing getting hit after hit:).


It was a 250 Euro flight, as I  had to release the helium. I  had only a specific  timeframe to release it,  in order to comply with local regulations, but I am  not giving up. I  will have another flight, at the end of this August, on good conditions: temp, wind, atmospheric pressure .



2.5M (2500000) POKE  flight

All the benefits from the previous package + a first class flight, with the help of idei3d.ro (http://idei3d.ro).

 To be more specific, your name will be 3D printed  and will reach the stratosphere at  30+ km. After recovering (yes, the spacebox gets back to Earth), I'll ship your 3d printed name  :) This is how our  names look like in 3d:

The whole idea of poketrainr.com started in July, and this might catch on.

Thanks for the ideas guys.  As I have said, I am involved in multiple projects.

It's pretty obvious that with the limited resources this community have, we won't develop any groundbreaking features so it's a wise choice to go with some kind of service on top of this coin. Previous dev did not had any plans for the coin/project. Only the idea of creating a coin for the PokemonGo hype and hoping that people will just buy it.


In my opinion this coin needs a business model.

Creating a new pre-mined coin over a coin that was pre-mined (possibly dumped by the run away developer) is a no go for exchanges. I can't picture any new exchange adding the new swapped coin. It will sit at yobit and will die eventually.

My point is that before the coin was abandoned by the original developer it was trading with 23 satoshi ,and now it is barely holding on at 2 satoshi.

As developing the new wallet, spreading the word, making new block explorer( I have noticed that the old one does not work anymore), dealing with the coinswap, maintaining everybody up to date, posting on the thread  takes a team of devs( unless you are a super DEV and can make it all by yourself),  and I am not one of that.  I guess I could have a new full pos wallet and have the coinswap manually, but this is pure suicide:))) and not to mention that I could be accused of a possible scam:))) 

My plan is to use the current coin for a while and see how my roadmap can have a positive impact on this. if the price rises above 100 satoshi, then it means that it worth investing man power and time in this.

However if the community there are devs that want to be involved in this, you can post your ideas or PM me and we can, obviously discuss this.

As for the near future, I want to contact pokemongo communities and spread the word out there about my initiative and see how it goes.
Maybe this is not the best approach, maybe it is,  we will have to wait and see.


I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I wish the dev had chosen a lower starting supply like 300m similar to Air coin which seems to have much better working pos also, this could've been a pretty valuable digital asset but everyone's learning how to do business better.

By following a plan, I think that we can have some positive results.

It is my first week since I have found out about POKE and now I find myself in a position that could decide the future of a coin that was not build by me. And this is insane:)))

I don't understand. I do want good explanation from the takeover team. Do you know, none of the takeover coins did well so far. Some coins also take two to three takeovers but no good results. All have died. I don't see anything new with POKE for revival. However, I need some thoughts from you.

This project is dead and noone cares about it. The new Dev came here with all these promises and was never seen again. The pool was up for half a day since then its been dead.

May be the actual present coin not so much. Sell order in Yobit only 68,980,539 POKE coin. Min price only 2 SAT and max price is 63 SAT. The prices should be increased.

If POKE coin can join with some business, the prices will be increased to 100 - 200 SAT.

Well this is what we hope for. We all need to try do what we can to pick the price up. Im not sure exactly what since I'm no Dev but I am willing to help and try and even learn if I can't myself. I'm sure the dev will welcome any help open armed.

yes, I have been talking with some POkemon go communities and presented the idea to them, but they all asked ( of course) if the coin can be used in the game.

I have even presented to them that for that price, I will even send to them a 2000 mAh batery so they can continue playing the game.

So, the thing is I have to find a way that the pokemon go players could find a better use for POKE.

I guess that I should install the game and play around with it for some time. I know the basics, but one thing I see, is to create meetings where for a certain amount of POKE ( that can be traded for fiat money) users can buy some items.

But I guess that I have to to contact bigger exchanges, like Bittrex, or bigger. Or find  " that thing" that will trigger pokemon go players to adopt POKE as an alternative when it comes to buying POKEMON Go items.

Another idea is to create an exchange where people can trade directly POKE for fiat money ( USD, EUR,  ETC) .

Picture this: a teenager, needs to use daddy's credit card in order to buy stuff from POkemon Go, right?

How about creating an ecosystem where he doesn't need to use daddy's card anymore.

What if he can leave his computer mining for POKE( there is still room left for miners).
This way he can earn more poke, trade poke for real money and buy stuff for his beloved pokemon, etc.

It does make sense right?

I would love to hear your ideas about this.

I think the idea is very good, Pokecoin would value.

Pokecoin has to have value, people should use pokecoin to buy something or pay a service if pokecoin not used to buy or pay something then will not have value.

I hope that MAXAMUS will make the great thing for us and POKE coin will go to be famous coin same like DGB , BTS , FCT , XMR or ETH.

Just gonna bump this thread. Something should be done to the sell wall on exchanges that support Pokecoin (e.g. YoBit).

Oh nice I will do the bounties soon. When I try to mine the pool says authentication failed. I checked and rechecked my setting the right and I tried another miner software but still the same thing happens.

You can try again with the pool. I am using coiniumserv, not my scrypt and it seems that it still has some bugs and need manual restart. Will keep an eye on that one.

Next I will upload the blockchain with the added nodes there. Also instructions so people know what to do and how to do it. I see some instructions assume you already know certain things but I like making instructions that anyone can understand. That way noone needs to ask the same thing 500x I think I will upload it in a few hours time. I was looking around to see how to make an altcoin and omg there is no clear definition or anything that helpful. Dont believe people who it's easy those are clueless people. So it's no very helpful when I want to learn from scratch and they start talking about things like building a deamon and putting up nodes. I dont even know what a daemon is other then you need it. Then how do you get the coins before anyone else does ? I know you can premine but what if I premine too much or not enough ? Or do they run with profits after dumping ? I'm sick of devs like that and so I want to do all the things they should have done. But there many dead coins can't I just take one over or something ? Yes I know we can buy our own poke but that makes no sense to me since why must the Dev or guys running it buy it themselves ? I thought the Dev was suppose to distribute the coin out in carious ways and build its value up for the investors and the Dev himself. This would work providing the Dev does not run. But so many do. I would love to run my own campians or even with a team for a coin. But I dont know how to code a coin so I guess I will need a tram and so many devs say they need help and I'm right here offering but noone does anything so I dont know. Or do I mine a dead coin like hell then rerelease it under a new Dev (myself) and take it over ? Then I can increase the value of it and use what I mined to pay for advertising ? Just cuz someone else let a coin die doesn't mean I will. Is it not possible to bring one back to life ? So the deb actually can get some decent value out of the coon to attract and pay people. Cuz like paying for a signature campaign is bloody expensive. I just dont have that kind of money. Any thoughts ? Anyone who can help ?

Oh thanks those guides are much better then the ones I found. I looked both here on bitcointwlk and elsewhere but I never found those 2 so thanks. Yea it would be nice to maybe have a team but I dont know. I'm not sure how much work this is all going to take. I dont really care I'm willing to go as far as I need I just need directions and a not of help here and there. Good luck for us let's hope. :)

I was pretty busy this week and just saw this.  I wanted to add that it is not so much the coin itself that is hard/unexplained, it is the environment to compile coins in that can be a pain.  It is all the prerequisites and having them installed in the right place and configured right that makes the difference.  Plus, people copy and paste, do not read, and do not try to understand what they are doing along the way.  That is why an error throws them into oblivion.  They also do not understand the Linux system to the point of knowing how to fix an issue and move forward. For example, there is a big difference between working as the root user and a normal user in Linux. If you are logged in as the wrong user or type of user, then some files are in the wrong place and the permissions may be wrong.  But, people have to try to learn what is happening from their copy and paste adventures.  I had a wallet a client could not install using the directions we had sent over.  So, I reinstalled Ubuntu on a VPS and followed the directions step by step, never second guessing or inserting things I knew should be done.  Turned out that the step about writing the config file used Nano, because that was on the base system I based the instructions from.  I inserted the "sudo apt-get install nano" and it went fine for her.  Nothing against the client, but someone that had used Linux for at least a little while or at least read the error that kicked back would have known immedately what to do.  I think that before compiling and launching a coin, a person should have a basic understanding of each step before moving on. I don't know every niche of every thing involved, but I know why each piece is being installed, like the fact that Boost is software between the database and the wallet that I assumes has easier commands than using database statements.

The beginning point that I lost was this.  Once all of the software that leads up to the compile are there you can have that machine in the ready state to put out another coin in less than 15 minutes(not minding chain updating) and using the same machine and even the same few original daemon cores, you can produce coin after coin.

Eh... I have no idea what you talking about. I do know you can't just copy paste !? Copy and paste what ? And where ? No. I dont even know where to begin learning. None of those "guides" make much sense. The reader doesn't know what is going on in the writers head you must remember this. I just know I'm willing to learn but I need a direction and I can't understand why it is so difficult. Lol I at least I do know the difference between root and none root account, its always been like that even with windows bit even more so with Linux I know. I've never setup a VPN before. I have only ever used a VM fpr abuntu and once I ran abuntu on a partitioned HDD.

the basics are.....

1. Clone/Fork another pre-existing coin from someplace, usually github
2. Install a long series of required files and systems and their own dependencies
3. Alter the code of the coin that you just forked down, changing things like the name, premine, reward structure....
4. compile and then make that new code
5. run once without merkle, run again with new merkle generated by the error that comes from not having one in there
6. make that daemon and the system surrounding it stable because it may be the only node for some time

The point above was that step 4 is the hardest, but it can be done once and that system is pretty much ready to make another coin and another.

Looks like there are still people buying the coin at 1sat so there could always be a chance of it rising in the future. Doesn't look like there is enough community support right now to keep the development of the coin going however.

Well haven't heard from new dev in while so might no be looking good.. was hoping maybe dev would have done something with this coin.

I am buying the pokecoin small bit by bit. We must talk to the new dev team about this coin and what can be done. I'm not sure what makes a coin do well but I could imagine there should be some sort of pokemon site with pokecoin rewards or something. Pity the devs have no premine to help them.

Ok I dont know what is going on with maximus so I'm just gonna go ahead and take over. Yes a website is a very good idea and I want to start one very soon. A faucet is also a another good idea which I will put in place as well. Right now I'm working on a cosplays for an event so I'm a bit busy but I am going to slowly work on pokecoin bit by bit. How to create your conf file:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Poke
Close your Poke wallet (it will not sync yet).
Download this file and copy it to the newly created folder.
Re-launch your Poke wallet and wait while it syncs/downloads the blockchain.
N.B. If you don't see 'AppData' in **your username** folder then click on the address bar at the top of the window and paste
\AppData\Roaming\Poke
after **your username**
This is where to place the file you just downloaded.

Hi guys let me just explain what is going on. I really like this coin I habe not given up on ot and I dont plan too. I am not actually a Dev and have no clue how to make a coin. I dont k ow how to solomine pokecoin I did try and it should work but it doesn't . there are no pools and I do not know how to start one but perhaps I will find out.

The guys who were helping with the take over have disappeared. I only offered to help the coon not take it over but since everyone has disappeared I guess its left to me. Maximus is ignoring everyone and its pissing me off since he has been online but has done nothing. There are no orders on yobit even. So I'm the only one left and have no idea what I should do but I'll try a few things and I will try learn how to get a coin popular and create something other then a useless thread.

Please any suggestions will help and any support. Things will be slow but I am around so please inbox me with concerns or ideas. Even the smallest thing I will be greatful for

I think maximus has taken on too much work - and unfortunately is letting a few people down. Also some problems with EGC too. Good luck with POKE. Yes, this is true, as I have earlier mentioned in the post, I am involved in multiple projects, and maybe it was to much to handle. I liked the pokecoin project and I said to give it a go. But my main project become more serious, and my whole attention was focused on that one.
I am sorry for  disappointing you guys, but I had good intentions. However, I am more than willing to help the guys that will continue with this project: starmman, JasonXG, Daffadile.


I have seen that the solo-mining is causing trouble so I had to take a closed look to the code, and it seems that the rpc port is not 3333 as the original dev said, but 33716

You can check this if you download the pokecoin code from github here: https://github.com/PokeCoinDev/pokecoin  and go to pokecoin-master/src/ and open the bitcoinrpc.cpp file. At line 46 you will see that the rpc port is 33716. Here is the code:



In order to solo-mine, you need to follow the steps that Daffadile advised earlied in the thread,  create a file called pokecoin.conf and paste this code in it:


You can of course replace the rpcuser and rpcpassword with your own credentials.

Download the X11 cpu minere from here:  http://poketrainr.com/go/mining-pool/   ( or if you have it already, even better)
    Edit the file RUN-X11-gw64.bat and replace the text inside with this one:
replace the pokecoin and pokecoin_secret_password with your own username and password
    Edit the file cfg.json and replace  the "threads" : 3, with the number of CPU cores you have. so you can start wit threads: 2 and see how it performs, and increase the number to 4( if you have 4 cpu cores), or 8 if you have a better cpu.
    Double click on RUN-X11-gw64.bat  and you are mining PokeCoin

As for the mining pool, I can provide the full scrypt and help you guys to setup the mining pool over mono on a Ubuntu vps.
Unfortunately this is as much as I can do, as I my time is now limited with my main project.
I will reserve some time next week and pay the twitter followers as promised.

How did you learn all this stuff ? I don not know how you got this info. I have looked for starting points but I have not found much. It is all too technical. I think JasonXG should make node or at least try. Also mining pools ?

For running nodes, I will keep my nodes running if it helps, and I will help you guys build your own nodes.
 Just use a vps, compile the wallet, create a config file with all the nodes in it, like the config file I showed you in my previous post and you are done. then add the ip addres of your new node to your pokecoin.conf file( the one from your pc) and your wallet will connect to the new node.

I can help you our build it if you want to.

Am I right POKE trade on Yobit, maybe good idea to add on takeover thread.

I will wet up a node if I can get help doing it as I've never done this...

Also mining pools there is btcpop and poswallet that have staking pools but both do not have this coin listed, I am unsure of any other staking pools but i would also add half my poke coins to any staking pools.

Another thing would be maybe try to set up a faucet to maybe help getting this coin kinda out there.

Can I also say maybe 200℅ staking is a very bad thing I think even 25℅ max maybe even lower.

We should all work together and come up with a game plan and work together and see who does what and who works with who to get what done.
I'm not sure about the staking but 200% doesn't have to be a bad thing we have had coins make good profits with high pos. If we can find things people can spend poke on then there shouldn't be a problem.

Well I can see what I can do to set up a node as that always helps.

I've been looking to set up a faucet bit still trying to learn how so I will see what I can do on that, if I do set one up I would like it to be/have a game type involved not just your normal faucet but it maybe take a bit to figure it all out.

Will also see what I can do with poswallet and btcpop.
If I can get it on pop I don't think it will be for a while as they are not adding new coins for a bit also only adding eth and bitcoin based coins at first..

Poswallet is always looking for new coins but they only want coins that have active development and devs working on it but if as you said we can all work as a team we can maybe see what this coin can have...

a 5$ VPS from vultr.com is a start.
create a separate user, hide the root login, create a swap file(4gb will do just fine)

you can then install the Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS  and then compile the daemon.

create the config file and you have a node.

add the mining pool script on it and you have a node+ mining pool.

The thing is to make people like the coin and use it. this is the tricky part I guess.

I've been thinking about that a bit and maybe a casino type site people love casinos, some type market place even something on fourm that I or someone else takes poke coin, just ATM hard to get any type return on that.

But maybe the people that would want to help try getting this coin up can talk on a way for all us to talk at once and maybe try to figure something out

I have just checked all my 3 vps servers, the pokecoin daemons is up and running, so at least my 3nodes are working.
Opened my wallet, left it for 30 mins or so to sync, no issues occurred.

Try to close your wallet and try again, it should work.
Also, you can  check if   your wallet is connected to the nodes, from your wallet. Just click on Help->Debug window-> and type getpeerinfo
you should see at least my nodes: 108.61.188.71   108.61.202.164  104.238.159.141


Or you can take a screenshot and post here so we can check.

My wallet wont stake and I can't find nodes how did you get yours to work ? Noone has helped me at all so I'm afraid this coin will die as noone seems to care. I habe no idea why maximus tried to revive it. I habe missed so many staking days and noone helped me so I'm fed up.

I don't think there is much life or enthusiasm left in POKE - I still have a few of them in a wallet - but don't expect a revival any time soon. shame as the coin was cool even if it was started by a scammer, volatility on the first day was awesome...

Hi, someone had a node going last night - I managed to sync up to block 306719 - (Fri Aug 11 07:13:08 2017) - the highest they had and probably the last block mined.

I'm keen to get it going again - just for a learning experience, I'm stuck however when it comes to mining - I've got the cpumine program talking to pokecoin ok (I think) but get error:
