Title: NFL/NCAAF 2016 Picks, Tips, Discussion
Post by: Junko on November 24, 2016, 07:03:38 PM
The purpose of this ongoing thread for is anyone who doesn't want to start their own personal tipster thread or to hijack other's personal tipster threads to discuss NFL and NCAAF match ups, betting lines, tips, picks, predictions, stats, injuries, news, game updates etc. Anyone who does have their own tipster thread is of course also welcome to post their NFL/NCAAF tips/picks or related here.

I'll be posting my picks here and like I said, anyone is welcome to post their NFL/NCAAF picks, tips, predictions, opinions, observations etc.

I'll start with my Thanksgiving Day picks:

Nitrogen Sports (my picks in bold):

Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions: Minnesota +2 (1.905 odds) This game has already started and the Lions have gotten off to a fast start. Minnesota is going to have to make some serious halftime adjustments or else I'm screwed.

Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys: Washington +7 (1.809 odds) The line for this game has been fluctuating since Monday (currently it's Cowboys -5.5). Both offenses are clicking and both defenses have definite weaknesses. I think this will be a high scoring, but close game. I think the Cowboys will actually win outright, but like I said it'll be close.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis Colts: Pittsburgh -7.5 (1.976 odds) Andrew Luck is confirmed out. I think the line was Pittsburgh -10 at one point yesterday, but lots of money coming in on the Colts obv. The Colt's replacement QB (forgot his name) has thrown one pass since 2013 where he started in just two games. He is 1-1 in those games completing 60.8 percent of his passes for 218.5 yards, zero touchdowns, three interceptions and a 63.9 passer rating. He is also working on a short week so I don't see him being very effective. This is a must win game for both teams.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Hey Junko,

Nice to see you finally start a topic with your NFL picks.

Looks like the Vikings stuffed us both up and stupid me I went off the Lions as I was liking them to win a few days ago but I decided to pick the Vikings instead for some value.

I see that most of the money for the Cowboys/Redskins game is on the Redskins at the money line currently 62% and also the point spread has come in to 6 points now. I still like the Cowboys to get the win.

On the Colts/Steelers game the money is pretty much even on both teams with 55% on the Steelers and 45% on the Colts money line but on the 8 point spread the Steelers have it at 66% I went with the Colts at the money line and got on @4.20 I know it's a big risk but as you said both teams need a win to keep their playoff chances alive but I think the Colts need it more as they are 1 game back behind the Texans so a win would put them on equal wins with the Texans to play the Chargers at home but how much has that Raiders game taken out of the Texans as the conditions were tough for both teams in that game.

Good luck!

your pick of Minnesota +2 it lost for 1 point however you still have chance to win those two picks remaining Washington +7 it's great I feel this will be a closed match and Pittsburgh -7.5 I don't know it's hard to tell you what will happen the performance against Cleveland was poor the last week I feel that the success of that game was due more to errors of Cleveland.

Heya junko!!

good to see on some of the games I like (redskins)

man tough result in that vikings game. Brutal ending, when it looked like
the vikes were going to win...

Rubberduckie & vella85: Yeah, taking the Vikings was a value pick. If only Sam Bradford hadn't thrown that choke INT at the end. That F'ed me good. It thought they might at least get the winning field goal. At worst, get to OT.

It's halftime now in the Cowboys-Redskins game. We'll see who can make the better adjustments.

Good point, the3nolo. Pittsburgh -7.5 does seem like a lot, but I'm banking on the Colt's back up QB not having any type of chemistry with T.Y. Hilton and also just not having what it takes to handle Pittsburgh as his past numbers have shown when he's come in to fill in for the starter.

Nice work Junko on your Thanksgiving picks 2 from 3 correct and you and I were both unlucky with the Vikings. I won with Dallas at the money line which I got on @1.40 but my value picks went down, well I know the Colts ain't going to win lol and it looks as though the Steelers are easily going to cover the -7.5 spread. I must admit Scott Tolzien has done well but it got no protection at all and a couple of dropped catches doesn't help him. The Colts could of been competitive which I was hoping for but the other players around Tolzien let the team down.

Looks like my Super Bowl pick for the Colts to win is now over but I still have the Giants and Vikings on to win. The Giants are the forgotten team which are starting to find some form but the Dallas Cowboys are over shadowing them with the season they are having.

Thanks, bud. Yeah, just missed on the Vikings, but I'm happy enough with today's results. As for your SB picks, looks like the Colt's playoff hopes just got dimmer. They would need to win the division now it seems. And while they're not out of it yet, it's not looking too good for them. I agree, the Giants are overlooked with all the attention Dallas is getting. The Giants 7-3 record is nothing to laugh at. They might not overtake the Cowboys for the division lead since their only easy game the rest of the season will be this weekend against Cleveland, but they should still easily make the playoffs.

My results for today:

Minnesota +2 (1.905) : Loss -1.00 bet units
Washington +7 (1.809) : Win +0.81 bet units
Pittsburgh -7.5 (1.976) : Win +0.98 bet units

Today total: +0.79 bet units

Two college football plays for Saturday. NitrogenSports, 1% bets, picks in bold:

Michigan @Ohio State -5 (1.931)

The Buckeyes offense has been inconsistent this season, but their defense has been strong all year, allowing just 13 points per game. Big rivalry game where the loser will be knocked out of the College Football playoff rankings.

Auburn @Alabama -17.5 (1.897)

There are a myriad of reasons why top-ranked Bama will should cover, but the main reason is that Auburn is one-dimensional. Their strength is the running game, which is very good when they play normal teams. However, they won't be playing anything close to a normal team in Alabama. The Tide will be featuring the nation's best run defense which will force Auburn to have to go to the air which is not one of their strengths at all not having thrown for 300 yards in any of their games this season.

The Michigan-Ohio St. was an amazing game. So much tension, so much on the line, so much drama. One for the ages. A great game from  the perspective of a college football fan. From someone betting Ohio State -5, not so much. >.<

Auburn-Alabama was a lot closer than it should have been, but Bama still covered, barely.

Saturday's results:

Ohio St. -5 (1.93) : LOSS -1.00 bet units
Alabama -17.5 (1.897) : WIN +0.90 bet units

Saturday Total: -0.10 bet units

About to go out with some friends, but will post some NFL picks for tomorrow later tonight when I get back.

Yeah it was a great game and I had the opposite to you as I had Michigan +5 and they were so close to winning the game. Alabama just covered the spread and didn't really look like a $1.03 favorite lol Well at least the loss wasn't that bad as it could of been worse with Alabama missing the spread. Good luck with your NFL picks, I'll be posting mine soon as well.

Yeah, I saw your Michigan pick, gratz! And yeah, good thing for me Bama covered. But even though they just barely covered, for some weird reason, while watching the game, I was never really worried that they wouldn't cover. Anyway, on to my NFL picks...

I am waiting for you nfl tips for sunday i already follow vella85 nfl tips and i also like to follow you tips because you have good strike rate with nfl tips. Rubberduckie also sometime have good nfl tips.

Hey, mate. Thanks for following.  :) Yeah, vella85 and Rubberduckie are really good tipsters. I always look to their tip threads.

*Note: These picks were made earlier in the week (11/22) so the lines and odds may have changed since, so keep that in mind when you consider them. In the future, I will post my picks closer to the time I book them.

NitrogenSports, 1% bets, picks in bold:

Cinncinati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens (-4) (1.957)

So the Bengal's season is pretty much over. They have a negative points differential, are 1-5 on the road and they will be without two key weapon's on offense - WR A.J. Green and RB G. Bernard. The Raven's on the otherhand have everything to play for and will be looking to get an important win at home and regain some of their pride after getting manhandled by Dallas last week.

Tennessee Titans (-4.5) (1.930) @ Chicago Bears

The Bears have been playing like shit the whole season. QB J. Cutler is listed as doubtful with an injury to his throwing shoulder so it appears back up QB Matt Barkley will be getting the start in his place. The Bears are also without WR Alshon Jeffery who is currently serving a four game suspension for PEDs. TD's have been hard enough to come by for the Bears even when Cutler and Jeffery were plaiying. As long as they don't make any mistakes, Tennessee should be able to cover.

Carolina Panthers @ Oakland Raiders (-3.5) (2.046)

Carolina's LB Luke Kuechly is out for the game for concussion protocol. He is the heart of that defense, but even if he were healthy and playing, I still think the Panthers would lose. Oakland is on a roll and is starting to be looked at as a SB contender. Carolina is 1-3 on the road and will be travelling across the country. Still not an easy game for the Raiders, but I think they cover.

5 Leg Parlay, *0.25% bet, odds: 4.372

New York Giants @ Cleveland Browns - New York Giants (ML)
Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens - Baltimore Ravens (ML)
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Buffalo Bills - Buffalo (ML)
San Francisco @ Miami Dolphins - Miami (ML)
New England Patriots @ New York Jets - New England (ML)

- Cleveland confirmed tanking this season.
- Bengals with two key injuries on offense. See above.
- Jax QB B. Bortles leads the league with 13 INTs and is playing with a bad shoulder.
- SF 0-4 on the road, last in the league vs. the run - giving up a whopping 179.5 yds rushing per game avg.
- Jets' Darelle Revis not the CB he used to be. 0 INTs this season, opposing QB's passer rating when targeting Revis: 105%. Tom Brady is expected to start and he'll be looking to continue his F.U. Tour this week against hated division rival.

New York Jets vs New England Patriots I placed my bet on New England Patriots 1st Half @1.40 because they are offensive side and I'm pretty sure it will be one sided encounter for them as New York Jets are very poor at the moment so it will be easy choice to make money.

Yeah, that looks like a good bet. New England should get off to a fast start. Also, New England (5-0 in away games) may be the visiting team, but they aren't traveling far at all, practically just down the road. And like you said, the Jets (2-4 at home) are really bad. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more New England fans in attendance than Jets supporters.

Great work Junko on your picks mate, so far you got them all right and for a moment there I thought the Bears would stuff up your Titans -4.5 spread pick. To be honest the Bears should of won that game late, how did that player drop that pass in the endzone? It was an easy catch but he dropped it and also on 4th and goal another Bears player dropped which looked like a great pass even the commentators couldn't understand how these easily catches were dropped lol Anyway at least you won and good luck with your parlay, just need the Patriots to win which I think they should but for my bet I would also like the Jets to cover the +7.5 spread.

Thanks mate. Yeah, the Bears really surprised me, rolling up 411 yds on offense. Their back up QB did really well despite throwing two INTs. But like you said, they blew their chance (luckily for me). Wilson put a sick move on the cb and Barkley dropped a perfect dime right in his hands. He should have caught that. My Raiders -3.5 pick was looking good early as they were cruising with a big lead. But then the wheels came off early in the third quarter when Carr got injured. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

Overall, it was a good day so I can't really complain. My 5 team parlay made it through which was nice. My only regret would be that I only made a quarter sized bet on it. Oh well, I'll still happily take it.

Results for today:

Baltimore Ravens (-4) (1.957) : WIN +0.96 bet units
Tennessee Titans (-4.5) (1.930):WIN +0.93 bet units
Oakland Raiders (-3.5) (2.046): LOSS -1.00 bet units

   New York Giants (ML) W
   Baltimore Ravens (ML) W
   Buffalo Bills (ML) W
   Miami Dolphins (ML) W

Nice hit on the parlay mate and unlucky on the Raiders not covering the spread for you and they had many chances late to score a touchdown but the Panthers defense help strong to keep them to a field goal which in the end wasn't enough for you. I went 3 from 3 with my tips and I was worried late with the Jets maybe not covering the +7.5 spread but lucky they did for my sake. Overall between you myself and Rubberduckie we did well on this weeks NFL games. As I said I like how we are able to have different picks and get the wins most of the time.

Thanks, m8. Right, I got the MLs and you won vs the spread. I think I remember we did that or something similar a couple weeks ago too where we won on overlapping bets or something.  Winner, winner, chicken dinner.  :D

Philadelphia Eagles - Green Bay Packers. Is Eagles should be nice @1.50 for betting while they will at their comfort zone. I need your suggestion about this pick?
Hey mate, thanks for following my thread. As for advice, when it comes to money, finances, investing, stock/forex trading and gambling, I tend not to tell/advise people specifically what to do with their money/bets. I prefer to tell a person(s) what I personally would do and happily share the reasons why. Then let that person make their own decision as to what to do or not do with that information based on their own judgement. That way, that person is responsible for their own decisions and plus, that person gets the credit for winning (or losing) their own bet.

So with all that said, I don't think I will be making a play on this game, but if I were, I would personally take the Eagles ML if the odds are 1.50 or higher.

Eagles are 5-0 at home. GB is 1-4 on the road.

Eagles WRs have a glaring tendency to drop even perfectly thrown balls and Carson Wentz is not clutch and very inconsistent with his deep throws. Also, whoever it is that calls the offensive plays for Philadelphia is horrible. However, Eagles dominate at home with special teams and defense. Their front seven should be able to put enough pressure on Rodgers to force him into making enough bad throws. Even when Rodgers is on his game, the Packers as a whole are in disarray. There defense can't stop anybody right now. The Eagles are still alive for the playoffs so they have the incentive.

So yeah, if I were picking this game, I would be ok with Eagles ML with odds close to or higher than 1.50.

Looks like the lines and odds are moving as I write. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Good Luck, mate.

ps. The spread is currently Eagles -4.5 right now. Again, I don't think I'll be betting this game, but if I were, I would lean towards taking GB and the points. Like I said, Wentz is not clutch. Eagles will have to be relying on their defense and special teams. I will watch the game and be checking the halftime line. Maybe make a play then depending on feels.

@2012, Rodgers was on his game last night and the Packers defense wasn't a liability. I hate that you lost your ML bet (if you did end up making it). I didn't bet this game because I try to stay away from games that involve two crappy teams.

Thursday Night Football. NitrogenSports, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Dallas Cowboys -3.5 (2.126) @ Minnesota Vikings

Let's see, Vikings are 4-1 straight up and against the spread at home. But the Cowboys are 5-0 both straight up and ATS in away games. Minnesota is ranked 3rd in defense, but Dallas has faced top ranked defenses many times this year and won. Also Minnesota is ranked last in the league in total offense. I think it will be close early as Minnesota's defense will slow the Cowboys down. But Dallas' offense, as it usually does, will make the necessary adjustments by halftime and wear down the Viking's defense who, despite their #3 ranking, still allows 100 rushing yards per game on avg and the teams they have played have been mostly passing teams. I think the league's leading rusher, Zeke Elliot behind that big Dallas offense line will be featured a lot and will be effective over the course of the game.

I like this pick Vikings are playing really weird. They started the season really well but things are going wrong and they need to recover vs a Cowboys with 10-1 and I believe they will don't put a less effort this game because now in his best streak.

The Cowboys looked set to cover until late, I didn't want to risk anything on this game so I decided to sit this one out but I did like the Cowboys but only at the money line. I'm still working on Sundays games and good luck with the rest of your picks.

Hey, vella. Yep, Dallas 17, Minnesota 15 so this bet was a loss unfortunately. It was a close game the whole way through. Just when it appeared Dallas would pull away and ice the game near the end, Minnesota came back to score a late touchdown closing the gap. Thanks for the good luck this weekend. Good luck to you too, m8. Gonna work on my picks as well and will be interested to see your tips as well.

Dallas (-3.5) @ Minnesota Result: Loss -1.00 bet units

Sorry to see you lost your bet -3.5 ( 2.126) even odds for straight bet was not bad as I picked them ( 1.62) and Dallas Cowboys won this match in the end. Good to see this topic about NFL discussion. You have good knowledge and your selection of match is pretty impressive. Good luck will keep eye on this thread for upcoming matches.

Thanks. I should have some Sunday NFL picks up by Saturday evening. I do have one college football pick for tomorrow.

Saturday College Football, NitrogenSports, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Clemson Tigers -10 (1.897) vs. Virginia Tech

ACC Championship Game, neutral site. A win for Clemson will likely give them a berth to the 4-team College Football Playoffs. This could be a shootout as both teams have shown they can score lots of points. But Clemson has the better defense of the two and it seems VaTech has a fumbling the ball problem. I think Clemson wins outright, but I'm betting the spread for more value.

Hey, thanks for following. Regarding your Steelers ML bet, I think you have a good chance with that. Steelers are at home. They loked good against Indy last week who was without their starting QB, Andrew Luck. Antonio Brown had a hat trick of TDs and LeVeon Bell had a strong game with 120 yds rushing and a TD. New York also had a strong performance last week, but it was against the lowly Cleveland Browns. And your Denver ML bet is safe I believe. Even though Denver will be starting rookie Paxton Lynch in place of injured Siemian, their defense should carry them against the Jags.

Sunday NFL, NitrogenSports, 1% bets, my picks in bold:

Buffalo Bills @ Oakland Raiders -3 (1.939)

The Bills are 1-5 in their last 6 games on grass and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games vs. the AFC. Raiders are 4-0 ATS in their last four games vs. a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Bills can win SU if Shady McCoy gets on track, but I'm going to lean towards the Raiders covering.

*EDIT: I made a mistake with the decimal point when booking my Raiders bet. I wagered 0.001 instead of my usual 1% wager of 0.01. So I made another bet slip with a 1% wager for a total of a 1.1% bet. In case anyone is wondering why I have two bet slips for the Raiders below.

Washington Redskins +2.5 (1.948) @ Arizona Cardinals

Redskins are 7-1 ATS against a team with a losing record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games vs. NFC opponents. Arizona hasn't looked good this season. Carson Palmer has a 61% completion rate with 15 TDs and 11 INTs. Washington will be without TE Jordan Reed due to injury, but Cousins will still have enough weapons to throw to with Garçon, Crowder and DJax. Washington also has Kelley who is running the ball well. If the Redskins have good playcalling and execute, they should win outright.

Denver Broncos -3.5 (1.996) @ Jacksonville Jaguars

As I stated above, Denver will be starting rookie QB Paxton Lynch, but as long as he doesn't make too many mistakes, Denver's defense should be able to carry the team to victory. The Bronco's defense has a penchant for causing turnovers and Jacksonville is just not a good enough team period, even without having to overcome turnovers.

3 Team Teaser (6 points, Ties Lose): 1% bet, 2.500 odds
   New England Patriots -13 (+6)
   Seattle Seahawks -7.5 (+6)
   Green Bay Packers -6 (+6)

I like all three of these teams to win and thought about doing a ML parlay, but decided to go with a 3-team 6-pt teaser as I feel a little bit more comfortable with NE having to win by 8 pts against LA with Gronk out of the game, Seattle giving 1.5 to Carolina who is 1-4 on the road and GB having to win outright vs Houston, gambling that Rodgers(hamstring) will be good to go for the Packers.

Hey mate,

Looks like the Clemson/Virginia Tech game is going to go down to the wire and hopefully they can cover the -10 for you.

We almost have the same tips for this week in the NFL mate. I also like the Redskins to cover the spread and to be honest I actually think they can win that game against the Cardinals. I also like Denver but I prefer them at the money line just to be safe however I actually like the Bills to cover the +3.5 spread so we are different with that pick. Anyway good luck with your picks mate and as I said hopefully Clemson can cover the spread for you.

Hey, mate. Looks like Clemson let up and allowed VaTech to make a closer game of it, giving me a loss for the bet. Yeah, I'm taking a gamble with Paxton Lynch at QB for Denver. I'm counting on their defense to snuff the Jags. The Bills can win/cover vs. the Raiders for sure. If they do, it will be because Shady shreds their defense. I took the Raiders to cover, even though they screwed me last time, because they seem to have that weird magic similar to the Cowboys that makes them win even when they should have lost. Plus, they are playing at home and the Bills are travelling all the way across the country. Anyway, good luck to you too. hopefully things turn out good for both of us tomorrow overall.

Clemson -10 vs. Va Tech: Loss -1.00 bet units

Current Total: +0.42 bet units

Yeah sorry about Clemson not covering the spread for you. I myself had a loss in the NCAAF yesterday but hopefully we make up for it with our NFL bets tomorrow. Thanks mate and I decided to go with the Redskins to win at the money line instead of the spread as I think they have a big shot at winning the game. Good luck!

New England Patriots vs Los Angeles Rams although New England Patriots is play in their strong zone and no doubt they will win this match without any serious problem, so from my point of view under 46.5 points seems good for betting @1.70 there is chance is so good there.

Los Angeles ranks dead last in points scored per game and Gronkowski is out for New England. The temperature will be around freezing as well so the Under does seem like a good bet.

Well done Junko on your picks mate. The Raiders got the job done once again coming from behind, I thought I was in with a shot with the Bills +3 to cover but it wasn't to be. The Raiders are looking like a real contender this season for the Super Bowl. Also congrats on the 3 team teaser but if you had of taken all 3 of those teams at the spread you would of cleaned up big time but at least you won mate. The Skins stuffed us both up.

Thanks, Bud. The Raiders surprised me, tbh. By hafltime I was already counting the bet as a loss. You're right on the teaser. I would have won twice as much from those games if I had bet them separately vs the spread, but I just wasn't confident they wouldn't cover that big. Turns out they all covered easily. Yeah, the skins blew it.

Sunday's Results:

Oakland Raiders -3 (1.939) : Win +1.03 bet units (from a 1.1% bet)
Washington Redskins +2.5 (1.948) : Loss -1.00 bet units
Denver Broncos -3.5 (1.996) : Win +1.00 bet units
3 Team Teaser +6 (2.50) : Win +1.50 bet units
     New England Patriots -13 (+6) W
     Seattle Seahawks -7.5 (+6) W
     Green Bay Packers -6 (+6) W

Sunday Total: +2.53 bet units
Thread Total: +2.95 bet units

Great job buddy overall that is very impressive just 1 lost that time you was unlucky with close fight, I also won my bet on last night there, there is upcoming event between New York Jets vs Indianapolis Colts so I will pick under 50 @1.815, both sides are unstable and it will be hard to go over 40, so what you say about this?

Thanks, man. And congrats to you too on your win! Regarding the Jets-Colts game, I like the Under 50 @1.815. I agree, over 40 pts will be hard. Andrew Luck is back for the Colts at QB, but even though the Jets are a bad team overall, their defensive front seven is pretty stout and will be a challenge for the Colt's offensive line. And the Jets have struggled to put points on the board, averaging around just 17 pts per game. It won't be a shoot out, but even if the Colts blow out the Jets, it should still be under 50 pts. Good Luck.

I have a play for Monday Night's Colts-Jets game (NFL).

NitrogenSports, NFL, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Monday Dec. 5: Indianapolis Colts -1.5 (1.905) @ New York Jets

Last week's Jets game against their hated division rivals, Patriots, was the Jet's "Super Bowl" in which they played close and hard, but eventually fell short. They will be emotionally drained and won't have much to give against the Colts Monday night. For the Colts, franchise QB Andrew Luck will be good to go having cleared concussion protocol and are only one game back in the division race, which will be their only way of getting into the playoffs. So they should be highly motivated. It will be a bit of a chilly night at Met Life Stadium, but the weather will be clear with a slight 5-10mph breeze and 0% chance of any precipitaion. Expect Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton to hook up regularly.

A couple of Early Bird Special picks. One for this weekend's NFL games and one College Football Playoff Semifinal game which will be played on New Year's Eve:

NitrogenSports, 1% bets, picks in bold:

Sunday Dec. 11: Cincinnati Bengals -4  (1.948) @ Cleveland Browns

This season's motto has been, "Always bet against the Browns." Cleveland is that bad. Barring any weird injuries or news, the spread will only get bigger as the week goes on if at all.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/schweinhaxe/Picks/wk14.cin.clev.jpg

Saturday *Dec. 31: Alabama Crimson Tide -15.5 (1.850) vs. Washington Huskies

College Football Playoff Semifinal. Game will be played at a neutral site (Peach Bowl - Atlanta, Georgia). The line opened with Alabama as the favorite at -11 and will likely continue to increase up until game time barring any freak injuries/news. Basically, Bama is in top championship form with their smothering defense which has overwhelmed its opponents. Note again - this game will be played on New Year's Eve, December 31.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/schweinhaxe/Picks/12.31.ala.was.jpg

I'll have more NFL picks for this coming weekend. Just wanted to get these early picks in before the lines moved even more.

Thanks, mate. I'm taking the Colts ML also now, see below. Good Luck to you too!

Adding another play to tonight's pick.

NitrogenSports,  NFL, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Indianapolis Colts ML (2.026) @ New York Jets

A lot of money has been coming in on the Jets, most likely due to their good showing in a loss last week against the Patriots last week in front of a big betting market - one that extends from New England through New York and down to the Philadelphia and Maryland areas. As I mentioned previously, the Jets put up an all out effort because that game was their "Super Bowl" and that same alacrity just won't be there when they host Indy, imo.

To go along with my earlier Indianapolis Colts -1.5 (1.905) @ New York Jets

Good choice mate as they are getting out to over $2.00 now which I like a lot. I also just put some more money on them @2.01 money line. Big money is coming for the Jets at the money line and not too long ago the Colts were at 74% with the money line on Vegas and now they are into 69% so they are still favorites with the public betting but dogs on all sportsbooks.

The Colts were never in doubt at the money line and also at the point spread. This win capped off a nice weekend and Monday for you mate with a nice profit. I also made up for my 2 losses yesterday with this Colts win. Well the game isn't finished yet but there is no way the Jets can win. I'm so happy with this win because not only did I clean up tonight but because I have the Colts to win the NFC South division and I also have them on to win the Super Bowl. Well I'm one step closer to them winning the Division at least now equal with the Texans and Titans on wins.

Once again mate congrats on your picks!

Thanks, Bud! Yep, it wasn't even close. A nice easy win for both of us. I like these kinds of picks where it's over early and you don't have to sweat it out to the very end. Good to see you were able to make it into the black for the weekend on your NFL picks (I told you that you would  ;)) and that your Colts Super Bowl pick is still live. Nice.

Indiannapolis Colts ML (1.905) : Win +0.90 bet units

Adding another Early Bird pick for the weekend.

Sunday 11 Dec. NitrogenSports NFL, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Washington Redskins PK (1.921) @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are hot garbage as a team. They looked lifeless last week against the lowly Cincinnati Bengals who man-shamed them. Philadelphia's rookie head coach is absolutely clueless in all aspects - poor decision making, poor play calling, the team seems unprepared for games, undisciplined, poor execution, etc, etc. The players play with no heart. The game seems too fast for their rookie QB Wentz right now causing him to make poor decisions with the ball. His OL can't give him any protection.  His accuracy is bad and his receivers don't give him much help anyway. The Eagles defensive secondary is getting consistently clowned week after week after week.

Meanwhile, the Redskins aren't that great either, but they at least seem to have some semblence of competence. Kirk Cousins, having gotten franchise-tagged by the Redskins, has incentive and is playing for a big payday in a lucrative contract. And he does have weapons in his WRs. The Redskins should have been opened by at least -3 to -3.5 pts imho. I will happily jump on the spread being PK.

Congrats man on this nice prediction and impressive win there, I was unlucky with under 50 points because Indiannapolis Colts played so offensive and almost destroyed New York Jets there, next time will be careful about to place bet on this kind pick.

Thanks man. Yeah, your under pick was definitely unlucky. The Jets were held to below their already low scoring average. But I don't think many people could have predicted Andrew Luck would do so well throwing 4 TDs after coming off missing time for a concussion.

Your fast this week posting your picks for this week, I'm still yet to go through the games but I do like your Bama in the NCAAF even though it's a few weeks off. I think it will be Bama and Ohio in the Championship game and I just put Ohio on to win it all @5.50 If these 2 teams face off in the Championship game it will be a great game to watch. Who do you like to win the NCAAF Championship mate?

Hehe, well, I mostly only bet NFL and NCAA-F so I like to look at the lines as soon as they come out and jump on any games/lines that I see that I really like before they start moving away from what I would bet. And I try to post my picks here on the forum at the same time I book them bc it's prolly more helpful to anyone who might be following.

As far as the College playoffs, straight up, I think Bama will easily beat Washington. Their defense is too good.

I think Clemson will beat Ohio State straight up. They both have top defenses and highly capable offenses. Despite his interception rate, Clemson's Watson is the better QB and has more weapons to throw to. Their offense has no problems putting up points. Ohio St's QB J.T. Barrett is good too, but Clemson's D line is loaded. They are ranked sixth in the nation in sack percentage. Ohio St's O line is good, but has been inconsistent at times.

I don't have a futures bet on it, but in the Championship game, I personally think it will be Clemson taking on Alabama in a rematch of last year's title game. And straight up, it will be the same result : Alabama winning. Clemson will put up a fight just like they did last year, but Bama's defense is even more better than last year. Their defense is so nasty, they could beat some NFL teams.

But Good Luck on your Ohio St futures pick, mate. Those are nice odds. If Bama is in the Championship game I will likely parlay it with an NFL pick or something depending on the line/odds.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Oakland Raiders straight on any team could be cause of loss because Kansas City won more games whenever it came to play against Oakland Raiders but this time things can be go out of control. I took for total to be under 48.5 as most of the times they hardly touched the figure of 40 in their matches as total. If this game goes difficult then under 48.5 is perfect @1.63 odds.

You are right there. Oakland is strong this year with their performance but they are going into Kansas City's home stadium so they will not win there from their past tells from that.
Best to bet on points being under 48.5.

Asian handicap is another good way which can be relayed on for this only game between Kansas City Chiefs vs Oakland Raiders. After navigating through all the odds and possibilities I reached the conclusion that +5 @1.751 Ah for Oakland Raiders is providing protection plus chances. I also see equal chances for either side to win this upcoming game.

I agree, this game could go either way. The Raiders have been good to me bettingwise this season, but I will be taking the Chiefs -3.5 in this game between bitter division rivals.

Thursday 8 Dec. NitrogenSports NFL, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs -3.5 (2.016)

This is a huge game for both teams. The winner will take the division lead. Both teams have been amazing and both have had lots of magic this season. Like I said above, the Raiders have hooked me up nicely this season on various occasions, but I have to go with the Chiefs tonight. I usually like the home team on Thursday nights with a short week and both teams having played Sunday. The Raiders played Sunday, take Monday to recover, one day to prepare on Tuesday and then fly out to Kansas City on Wednesday where the temperature for tonight's game will be clear and below freezing (the pitch has underground heaters though). The Chiefs are tremendous on defense. KC handled the Raiders pretty easily earlier this season in Oakland. In his career, Carr is 1-4 against the Chiefs with a completion percentage of 57.7 and has 5 INTs to 6 TD passes. There's no team Carr has thrown more interceptions against. The Chiefs thrive on their defense and getting turnovers. Arrowhead Stadium will be rocking tonight fo sure.

I almost disagree with your picks of this week maybe I'm wrong but Pittsburgh vs Buffalo Bills, I think this is a precarious pick, why I said that? Buffalo have the best rushing offense in the NFL and Pittsburgh has a winning streak of three games against teams that have worst defense in the NFL

Mi pick for this game is Buffalo +2

The Buccaneers have been playing well I like so much this team but is a match against Saints I'll take ML. 49erz vs New York this game will be exciting, I like your prediction Buccaneers -2.

The Raiders are yet to loose playing away this season but I think tonight they get their first road loss and go 5-1 on the road while the Chiefs become 5-1 at home.

Hey, it's all good. My 3 part parlay is a gamble for sure, especially taking Pittsburgh -2 as one of the legs. You make a fair point about Pittsburgh winning against teams with bad defenses. But while they have won against poor defenses, the Steelers have looked good doing so. Big Ben is in championship form and has an array of weapons to throw to. Buffalo literally melted last week against Oakland giving up 29 pts in a come from ahead loss to the Raiders. Sure, the Bills have the best running attack in the league and no doubt Shady will gash the Steelers defense, but the Bills will have their own hands full trying to contain Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown and if they fall behind and are forced to abandon the run then they become one-dimensional and easier to defend. Like I said, it's a gamble and I can surely be wrong, but that's my reasoning behind taking Pitt -2 in this parlay.

Well the Chiefs did it mate and congrats on the win at the -3.5 point spread. I was getting a little worried late in the game and to be honest as I said in my topic the Raiders had their chances but couldn't convert on them and in the end lost them the game. Thanks for following my picks, cryptoburst. The game felt closer than what the final score indicated with Oakland threatening throughout the second half and at the end, but KC did hold onto the lead and covered. A nice win for me and a great win for you with your ML and ATS picks. Congrats!

And don't worry about the Eagles. The current state of that team right now trumps whatever their home record is. Trust me, Philadelphia has thrown in the towel. They have nothing to play for while the Redskins have motivation to win bc they still have a shot at a wildcard playoff spot. And Kirk Cousins has an extra incentive of playing for a big money, multi-year contract for either the Redskins or another team after this season. Of course there is a possibility that the Eagles may win. As the saying goes, "Any given Sunday" any team can win. But just reread what I posted earlier about the Eagle-Redskins game and hopefully that will reassure you:

Thanks, mate. Congrats to you too. A nice win for all of us who went with the Chiefs. Even though they didn't get any turnovers, the Chief's defense did a fine job holding the Raiders to just 13 points. I think the below freezing temperature and his injured pinky might have played a part in Carr being off with his normally accurate throws. He was just 17/41 for 117 yards. Something to keep in mind for the future if Oakland has to play in very cold weather again. Good Luck to you and everyone else with their picks and bets this weekend.

Yeah you might be onto something there with Carr not being able to play as well as he would of liked due to the cold weather. I'll be sure to keep that in mind for the remaining games of the season.

I decided to put on a small parlay with all at the money line as I think the teams I went with have a great chance at winning and the odds were decent at just over $10 however it's a 5 team parlay which can make it a little harder. I got the Broncos,Bengals, Colts, Steelers and Falcons all winning at the money line. I was going to take your pick Steelers -2 but I think the money line is paying great odds @1.70 and is much safer lol Good luck mate!

Yeah, 5 leg parlays are harder, especially ATS, as just one little mishap can ruin it. But I can see all those teams in your parlay winning the ML. 10.00 odds will be very nice if you hit it. May the football betting gods smile upon your picks, mate.  :)

I'll likely have one, maybe two more plays to add to my picks this weekend. Not sure, still shopping the lines. If I don't see anything I really like, I may just end up moving the lines on certain games in some kind of teaser play as a fun experiment. Idk, we'll see.

Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers still not fully convinced that moneyline is good. Pittsburgh Steelers are on winning track at away but I will not take any team. Under 49.5 total is nice @1.62 odds for this game. In my opinion we may not see even 40 as total but having huge marginal space is always good and recommended in NFL matches.

The weather forecast for Orchard Park, NY during the game calls for snow and temperatures to be below freezing with 10 mph wind. So that certainly favors the under for sure. Good Luck!

Just going to add one more play for Sunday.

NitrogenSports NFL, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Minnesota Vikings -3 (1.880) @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars aren't as bad as their record indicates, but the Vikings are clearly the better team. Minnesota's defense slowed the best team in the NFC down a bit in Dallas ten days ago and shouldn't have any problems shutting down the Jag's struggling offense on Sunday in Jacksonville.

I am going to list all my picks for Sunday here to make it easier to go through and grade at the end of the day. For my reasoning behind my picks, just scroll through my previous posts for this week.

Sunday picks summary:

NitrogenSports NFL, 1% bets, picks in bold:

1) Cincinnati Bengals -4 (1.948) @Cleveland Browns
2) Washington Redskins PK (1.921) @Philadelphia Eagles
3) Minnesota Vikings -3 (1.880) @ Jacksonville Jaguars
4) 3-Leg Parlay, 1% bet, (6.950)
         Pittsburgh Steelers -2
         Tampa Bay Buccaneers -2.5
         San Francisco 49ers -2.5

I also like the Vikings to cover the spread but I already put them on at the money line @1.60 and once I place a bet on a team I never put any more money on. But I think they can cover the -3 and they also have a lot to play for as they are still alive in the playoff race and need to keep winning. Something is also telling me that the New York Giants can upset the Cowboys, so I'll see how I go first and if I made some profit I might put a small amount on the Giants to win at the money line or maybe even to cover the spread. Not long now before Sunday's games start so good luck mate and hopefully we make some good amount of money.

Well done mate on the wins and you were very unlucky with the 49ers loosing in OT. They looked like they would win that game but let the Jets back in it. I also thought the Skins were going to loose at the death once again but lucky the Eagles QB had a fumble. I did okay with my picks, my big win was with Green Bay and the Vikings winning and they were my picks I was most confident about and also the Colts which let me down badly. It wasn't the same team as on Monday night.

Thanks , Bud. Yeah, the 49ers can't be counted on to come through with anything. They are just terrible. I was lucky with the Redskins winning, but at the same time, I wasn't surprised that the Eagles and their rookie QB weren't clutch at the end. I saw that you did do okay with your NFL picks, but that the Colts couldn't pull through for you. Oh well, let's see what next week brings for us.

I'm going with the Patriots -6.5 vs Baltimore this Monday Night Football, the lack of offense for the Ravens look very promising for New England to cover the -6.5 spread. Good Luck to all

NE Patriots -6.5

Hey, zero1ten. I'm betting 1 unit on the Pats -6, myself. Good Luck to us both.

NitrogenSports NFL, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots -6 (1.921)

Tom Brady and the Pats at home are just a better team. Gronkowski is out for the rest of the season, but New England still has enough weapons and coach Belicheck will be able to come up with the schemes to utilize those weapons successfully.

Good pick, mate. And very nice win on your 2 unit bet. The Ravens came back in the second half and threatened at the end, but happily for us, New England held on for the cover.

Two early plays for Sunday's NFL games.

18 Dec. NitrogenSports 1% bet, picks in bold:

Oakland Raiders -3 (2.106) @ San Diego Chargers

Carr didn't perform well in the Kansas City cold their last game. However, his pinky finger has had more time to heal and when the Raiders visit San Diego, the weather will be beautiful. The Raiders will be motivated to maintain/improve their playoff positioning. The Chargers have really nothing to play for. Melvin and Bosa are questionable, but it looks like Bosa will play. Melvin is day to day. Have to question if San Diego really wants to risk further injury to their two star players. And Rivers has been throwing out interceptions like it was candy the last few games. I like the Raiders -3 in this one.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +7 (1.976) @ Dallas Cowboys

Tampa Bay has been playing really good defense recently. Dallas meanwhile seems to be having trouble with teams with good defenses. I'll take the Bucs and the points.

Thanks. Yep, New England is rolling right now. They are on a mission. They have the best coach in the NFL, Brady is continuing on with his F**k You Tour and they have the weapons. The Pats just keep finding ways to churn out victories no matter who they play against. The only team that can possibly stop them in the AFC is maybe Kansas City if they are completely healthy on defense.

That was a matchup last night to remember. Ravens were the toughest defensive team in the nfl but New England just surgically picked them apart at the end.
I bet on over 54.5 points scored and was only off by 1.5. Brady could of scored at the end with 40 seconds on the clock and it was 1st down but didn't. They could of even put in a field goal but just let the time run out.
Almost won that at good odds too. Ah well! :-\

Oh man, that sucks. That's a tough one especially since the score at halftime was so low, but then picked up in the second half. Such a tease. I feel for you, man. Yeah at the end the people who had New England -7 were prolly not happy they didn't kick a field goal when it was 4th and 1, but elected rather to go for it instead to end the game. I bet if it would have been like 4th-and-5 or even 4th-and-3, NE might have kicked the field goal to make it a 10 pt lead with little time left. The thought process was prolly, it's easier to just get one yard and end it rather than risk something crazy bad happening on a field goal try. But at least those who had NE -7 got a push, while you got f'ed. Sorry to hear that.

Well done on another win mate and it got close towards the end there but the Pats were able to cover the spread for you. I decided not to have a bet on the game and just watched instead. We are now starting to see the playoff picture take shape with a few teams still alive if they play well. Just look at the AFC South any of the 3 teams can still make it lol and even if the Colts don't make it I still have the Giants and Vikings to win the Super Bowl but it's looking like a Cowboys/Pats Super Bowl at the moment. Good luck with this weeks picks.

Well Brady is the master and knew something could happen like that it was just that kind of night for the kickers.
Their kicks were getting blocked.
That rarely ever happens when the opposing side is trying to make a field goal and the other team blocks it. But if you saw that guy on the N.E Patriots just jump over the front line and block that kick you would be amazed. That could of been my win right there. But I didn't think of it at the time because that happened in the second quarter. I didn't think it would be even close when the second half started. I just went to sleep then I woke up just when they were putting points on the board like mad men with 9 minutes in the fourth quarter. I thought I was actually going to win. The odds were something like 4.65 so I didn't think I would of came that close to half a field goal. :-\
Even another safety could of done it just like the one that started the scoring in the game could of won it for me. They had the chance to do that exact same thing in the third quarter but Ravens saw that scenario happening again and rushed the hell out of there as fast as they could that time. ::)

I hear ya, man. Those certain plays early in the match have a way of haunting teams (and us punters) later in the game. You never know exactly what will happen and what the outcomes will be. All's you can do is bet your money and hope your analysis is good. That's why they call it "gambling" and not "winning"  :).

Adding a couple more early plays for Sunday:

Sunday 18 Dec. NitrogenSports NFL, 1% bets, picks in bold:

Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs -5 (1.930)

I like KC at home with their defense and the extra days of rest. They are also hightly motivated to stay atop the AFC West. Tennesse's front seven are pretty good, but their CBs are really bad. And QB Mariotta is just so-so for the Titans.

San Francisco 49er's @ Atlanta Falcons -14 (1.986)

Yes, the spread is ridiculously high. But the 9'ers are absolute garbage. They are worse than Cleveland imo. There is no talent anywhere on that team and Chip Kelly is a shit coach. My 15 year old nephew could coach better than him. Atlanta should be laser focused in their preparation for the game since they have Tampa Bay nipping at their heels for the division lead. I can see the Falcons at home hanging 35-40 pts on the inept 49ers.

I also like the Chiefs this week mate as they are at home once again and as you said they want to stay top of the AFC West and also the Titans in my opinion ain't that good and should of lost last week but were just lucky. The Chiefs are a better team then the Broncos and the Titans will know it come Sunday. I also have the Ravens winning against the Eagles and my big upset of the week the Colts to win.

Hey, mate. I saw your picks over in your thread. Good Luck again on your Colts underdog special pick. That's a brave play and I hope you hit it. I am adding a pick on the Eagles-Ravens game as well. I also wanted to do my usual play of fading the Cleveland Browns this week as per this season's motto of, "Always bet against the Browns," but the Bills team is in a bit of disarray at the moment and I just don't trust them to cover the -10.5 points. The Eagles will have to fill that role this week.

Sunday 18 Dec. NitrogenSports, 1% bet, pick in bold:

Philadelphia Eagles @ Baltimore Ravens -5.5 (1.905)

Without going into all the details of my reasoning, suffice it to say, despite their loss to New England on Monday night, the Baltimore Ravens still far outclass the Eagles as a team. And this is a must win for the Ravens playoff hopes, so they should be highly motivated even with the short week. At this point, the Eagles seem more concerned about getting all their Christmas shopping done than they are about playing out the rest of their games this season.

Thanks mate and yeah it is a brave bet to bet on the Colts at the money line but something is telling me they win this week. Luck is a superstar QB and is getting paid a big amount of money and he now needs to earn it and the way he can do this is to pick up his team and lead them into the playoffs which I'm hoping can happen. I also think the Ravens cover the spread but decided to bet on them at the money line. Good luck mate!

Seattle is undefeated at home this season. I don't see the Rams winning this game but I also can't see the Seahawks covering the spread. I'm taking Rams +15.5 against the Seahawks tonight for Thursday night football as well as the under 39.

Picks (5 units on each bet)
Rams +15.5 at -115
Under 39 at -110

Yeah, there is no way the Rams win this game. They are playing on a short week and they just fired their head coach a few days ago. Their offense wasn't even good to begin with. Goff doesn't look ready to be a starting NFL QB yet and he will be thrown against the wolves vs Seattle's defense. At the same time, 15 pts is going to be tough for the Seahawks to cover with their struggling offensive line. That's also a reason the Under looks like a good bet as well. Still, I've decided to pass on this game. I thought about teasing the spread and under 6 pts, but meh.

Anyway, Good Luck to you, mrdeposit. Those will be nice wins for you if/when they hit.

Well at least I was right on the Under 39. lol

My next pick is on the Saturday night football game; Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets (http://mrdeposit.com/sports/football/nfl/week-15-2016-miami-dolphins-vs-new-york-jets/). Dolphins are still a 3 point favorite without their starting QB Ryan Tannehill. Since the Jets defense is pretty weak, I don't think they can stop Miami's rushing game. So I'm taking -3 Miami Dolphins at +115 odds.

Pick: -3 Miami Dolphins at +115 odds. 5% of my bankroll on this bet.

Yeah, you nailed the Under and it had a tiny bit better odds than your other bet at least. So essentially a push for that set.

Re: Dolphins-Jets. This is another game I am staying away from. I don't trust either team right now. Moore doesn't have much experience at QB - only 35 pass attempts since 2012. Ajayi gashed the Jets last time they played in Miami, but he has gained less than 50 yds in two of his last three games and hasn't reached the 100 yd mark since week 9. Also it's a warm weather team (Miami) playing in New York where the weather looks like it will be cold and wet with winds up to 20 mph. The Jets have nothing to play for except for pride at this point. They had a nice comeback win on the road last week, but that was against the shitty 49ers and the fact the Jets fell behind in the first place says more about the Jets than anything else. The Jets are one of those teams in turmoil with their coach publicly questioning the players desire to play. There is really nothing I like about this game so like I said, I'm staying away from it.

Anyway, good luck mrdeposit. If Ajayi can get on track, it should take the pressure off of Moore and give the Dolphins a good chance against an already struggling Jets team. Also, the Dolphins should be focused and motivated by the fact that they are still alive in the playoff hunt. That should give them the edge.

Thanks for the luck. I agree with everything you said. The fact that the Dolphins are in the playoff hunt is why I place my bet on them. Plus the odds are too good to pass up against such a weak team. I'll post my Sunday picks sometime tomorrow. Tell me what you think of them.

Nice hit on the Dolphins at -3 mate and to be honest it was never in doubt as the Jets were terrible tonight. The Dolphins now keep their playoff dream alive with this easy win and the back QB did pretty good but then again it was a crappy defensive team they were playing.

Yes, as vella said, nice hit on your Dolphins pick, mrdeposit! A great win with your 5% bet, indeed. Moore really played well for the Dolphins, throwing 4 TDs. The Jets, meanwhile are a dumpster fire. They are just pathetic. I predict the opening line for next week's Jets-Pats game with NE at home will be Patriots -21. Anything less than that and I will be all over it.

Just going to list my picks for Sunday which I made earlier during the week to make it easier for me to grade at the end of the day. Also, when I was reviewing my pending bets on NitrogenSports, I found a teaser bet I had made using last week's New England - Baltimore Monday night game as one of the legs that I had forgotten to post. The bet is still live and in play, so I'll add it as well. For my reasoning behind my picks listed below, just scroll back through my posts from this week in this thread.

NitrogenSports NFL, 1% bets, picks in bold:

Philadelphia Eagles @ Baltimore Ravens -5.5 (1.905)
Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs -5 (1.930)
San Francisco 49ers @ Atlanta Falcons -14 (1.986)
Oakland Raiders -3 (2.106) @ San Diego Chargers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +7 (1.976) @ Dallas Cowboys
4-Team 6 point Teaser - Ties Lose; 1% bet (3.500)
      1. Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots -6 (+6) : W
      2. Cleveland Browns @ Buffalo Bills -10.5 (+6) : Pending
      3. Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans -5 (+6) : Pending
      4. San Francisco 49ers @ Atlanta Falcons -13 (+6) : Pending

Going with Baltimore -5.5 vs Philadelphia, the Ravens coming from a road loss against the Patriots seems raring to get a win to keep their playoff hopes alive so it looks like they will be focused on beating the Jets on this one. Good Luck

I did an experiment today by only beating by the numbers. So far not feeling so good but hopefully the rest of the day will be better. Don't ask me why I did it just wanted to have some fun today.

Picks for 1pm games
Eagles +4.5, Over 41
Browns +10.5, Under 42
Packers -5, Over 39.5
Steelers -3.5, Under 45.5 (watching this game, which is why I'm not feeling good about this)
Jaguars +4, Over 39.5
Titans +6, Over 42.5
Colts +5.5, Over 44.5
Lions +5.5, Under 42.5

Looks like we both lost this bet, mate. The Eagles kept it close and the Ravens gave up costly turnovers and couldn't break away. Hopefully my later picks will work out better.

Oh man those Chiefs let me down big time today as I had them in a parlay with the Packers, Colts, Giants and Ravens with odds of $15.35 I only had $20 on it but still it would of been nice to win with Christmas around the corner. Anyway it was a good day for me and finally I think I'm now in profit with my topic lol thanks to the big upset by the Colts, I knew they would win this game and I think they can win out now and even upset the Raiders next week to make the playoffs.

Yeah, not only did the Chiefs not cover, but they lost straight up. That was an uncharacteristic loss at home for them. Tennessee wanted/needed the win more, apparently. That would have been a really nice hit on your parlay. And I saw in your thread you had a really nice results thanks to your COlts Underdog Special. Grats on that again, mate! I still have a few games to sweat out today so we'll see how it goes.

Well done on another week of profit on the NFL. Your teaser helped you out and was never in doubt. The playoff picture is now starting to take shape and it's going to be a tight finish in the AFC South with 3 teams in with a shot at making it through to the playoffs. Also with the NFC North with 3 teams fighting for a spot in the playoffs.

Thanks, mate. Yep, my teaser play was key for me ending up with a profit this week. The only leg that was iffy was the Texans-Jaguars game. I needed the +6 points in that one. Luckily it worked out in my favor. And congrats again on your NFL picks for this week. Nicely done. Yes, the playoff picture is slowly starting to take shape, but with only two weeks left in the regular season, it's coming down to the wire with still a few division races and some playoff spots still up for grabs. It will be an interesting end to the regular season, that's for sure.

Going with Washington vs Carolina, because the Redskins need to win the rest of their games this season to be able to have a shot to enter the playoffs unlike the Panthers who are already out of it. Good Luck

You are correct. Thanks to Washington's one tie and the Bucs losing to the Cowboys last night, Washington controls their own destiny. If they win their last three games starting with tonight's game vs Carolina, they are in the playoffs. They will be motivated and should play with some fire. Hopefully for your bet, they prepared well during the week leading up to tonight's game at home knowing that it might come down to this scenario. Carolina will be playing the role of spoiler on national television and if they have any pride they will put up some effort. Good Luck, zero1ten.

My pick for tonight is Panthers +7. I do think the redskins will win the game but I don't think they will cover the spread against the Panthers.

If you guys would like to get a bowl game pick em going for the remaining games I would like to participate in that. We could do it straight up or ATS. Bowl games provide daily action so I think it'd be fun.

Anyone interested?

That's looking like a good pick at the moment. Carolina is in control of the game nearing the end of the 3rd quarter. Redkins are playing like this game doesn't really matter to them. The home crowd is booing them and rightfully so. Carolina is just playing free and without any type of pressure on them.

I would be interested and I think it would be fun, but I don't know if there are that many people here on the forum that bet/follow college football. Maybe start a new thread about it and people who might be interested might see it and come out of the shadows and show interest. Your post here will likely get buried without anyone seeing it.

_____
Some early picks for the upcoming NFL weekend (looks like most games are on Saturday this week because of Christmas):

Nitrogen Sports NFL, 1% bets, picks in bold:

New York Giants -3 (2.056) @ Philadelphia Eagles (Thursday 22, Dec.)

The Eagles showed some life and some heart last week vs Baltimore, but once again as we've seen many times before during the season, even despite bringing his team to within 1 point, Carson Wentz just isn't clutch. Last week's game wouldn't really have been close if it weren't for a boneheaded play by Flacco gifting the Eagles a turnover late and allowing the Eagles the opportunity to make the game close at the end (which fncked my bet on this game, btw  >:(). Anyway, I think the Giants defense will be too much for Wentz and the Philly offense. And NY has the weapons to shred the Eagles weak secondary.

San Diego Chargers -6 (1.996) @ Cleveland Browns (Saturday 24, Dec.)

Just my usual "Always bet against the Browns" pick. San Diego has nothing really to play for, but I know (it's been publicly confirmed since mid-season) that Cleveland has been tanking (losing on purpose) to get the number one draft pick next season and they are not about to let anybody like the 49ers or Jags steal it from them.

New York Jets @ New England Patriots -16.5 (1.986) (Saturday 24, Dec.)

The Jets are an easy fade here. The team is in shambles. The question isn't whether or not they get embarrassed by the Pats this weekend, but how bad will the man-shaming be. I'm betting that the embarrassment will be a 17 pt man-shaming at the least. I said a few days ago if the line opens Pats -21 or less I would take it.

Quote
The Jets, meanwhile are a dumpster fire. They are just pathetic. I predict the opening line for next week's Jets-Pats game with NE at home will be Patriots -21. Anything less than that and I will be all over it.

Nice early picks mate as the spreads could move later in the week. I'll be going for some value this week as I think a few teams can win being the dogs like the Bengals and even the Jaguars which are paying great odds playing at home against the Titans. The Jaguars did show some fight last Sunday against the Texans and I think they can upset the Titans. I think they both will cover the spread but I'll be going with the money line for some value.

Good luck with your picks mate!

Thanks, mate. Some spreads have moved a tiny bit, but the wrong way for me, lol. But just half a point so it's no problem. I'm still comfortable with my picks. Though New York is playing off a short week and on the road - but Philadelphia is less than an hour away by car so it's not too bad.

Your Cincinnati pick is solid I think. Houston's offense is shaky. Osweiler got booed off the field last week in a poor performance against the Jags and will be replaced by Savage.

Your Jags pick to win is for sure the Underdog Special. Even though they beat the Texans last week, the Jags fired their head coach right after the game and Bortles hasn't really developed as a QB.

I should have another bet or two later, I just want to figure out how to play them - straight bet or teaser.

Anyway, Good Luck to you too on your picks, mate! And good luck to everyone else as well on their picks.

I have a teaser play to add to my other picks for this weekend (see three posts above). I'm basically moving the lines of games that I kind of like, but want to make more comfortable.

NitrogenSports NFL, 3% bet, 4-Team, 6 Point Teaser (3.500), picks in bold:

      1. San Diego Chargers -5.5 (+6) @ Cleveland Browns
      2. Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers -6.5 (+6)
      3. Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks -7.5 (+6)
      4. Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs -3.5 (+6)

The Browns are "playing" for next year's number one draft pick. They can clinch that No.1 pick with a loss this week.

Minnesota's defense isn't what it was in the early part of the season. Their offensive line is not good. If Adrian Peterson plays, he will be playing with multiple nagging injuries behind that not good offensive line.  I'm going with Aaron Rogers playing at home in Green Bay in a game they need to win in order to keep their hold on the 6th playoff seed.

Arizona has done nothing on the road and I don't expect them to do anything playing in Seattle. The Seahawks have clinched the division and are motivated by getting a first round bye and a playoff game at home.

After taking over the division lead from the Raiders, the Chiefs followed that up with a choke job last weekend, giving the division lead right back to Oakland. This week I think they are looking to redeem themselves at home. The Chiefs rarely lose back to back games. Denver's defense is tough, but their offense just can't seem to score very many points.

Let's go Giants, going with NY Giants vs Phi Eagles because the Giants need to clinch the playoffs and the Eagles being out of it already as well as to have a shot in getting the first round bye if they end up with the same record with Dallas Cowboys. Good Luck

Yeah same here, I took -3 Giants at even odds and +125 odds. I also took the over 41.5 total points. I almost had a degen moment and bet my whole bankroll. I only did that once and it was on dallas and they won. :)

Not looking too good for you guys with the Giants to cover the -3 spread and even a touchdown and conversion won't help you guys out unless they end up going for the 2 point conversion to make it a 3 point game. I'm surprised at how well the Eagles have played tonight compared to their last few games.

Well, I thought the Giants would be good enough to be able to overcome being the "road team playing on a short week" disadvantage, especially against the lowly Eagles. But apparently I was wrong. The Giants, especially Eli Manning, just looked unprepared and made too many mistakes. Oh, well there's a loss for me.

That was the most upsetting loss you can watch.
They had inches too go for the first down in the last 4 1/2 minutes to go for the touch down to win that thing then clinch but no they get a false start and a 5 yard push back. ::)
Then I went away and came back with 40 seconds left they were on less than the 10 yard line and what happened? They let the clock run out. I was so mad at the tv I allmost smashed it! >:(
Phil. Eagles lost their last 6 games for crying out loud. ::)

Will go with Pittsburgh ML vs Baltimore, though this will be a very interesting matchup with both teams in the same division needing to secure their playoff spot especially to the Ravens who need to win this to steal the top spot for their division but I think Pittsburgh will not let this one go out and Baltimore will have a tough time against them. Good Luck and Merry Xmas to all.

Ravens will lose this one. Pitts is just to strong of a team for them to handle.
They don't call them the Steelers for nothin'! :D
And they will wreak the Raven's chances of getting to the big game today! ;D

GO Pittsburgh on to the playoffs! Just love em they are my team! :)

What a big upset yesterday with the Cleveland Browns winning and even the Seahawks also loosing at home and also the Jaguars destroying the Titans. Too bad for me I had a very bad day and to make it even worse the Bengals could of won the game with a field goal at the end of the game but missed. Good luck with the teaser Junko and hopefully the Chiefs can cover the spread for you as you had some scary moments there with the Browns almost winning by more then 6 and also the Seahawks almost loosing by more then 6. The Packers was the only game never in doubt.

Yes they were very lucky and it was a great win by the Steelers to come from behind in the 4th quarter to get the win. The Kansas city Chiefs had an easy time last night and made me won a good ticket on a parlay I had with them on pure points.
T.Hill is the man when it comes to the running play. I watched him take that ball 80 yards all the way into the end zone with out being touched.
He jumped in and out of the pocket then rode the sideline like it was a school yard football match.
I think he ended up with over 400 yards last night. I remember the announcer saying after his first TD that he was on his way getting 1000 yards in last night game the pace he was at that time. Four minutes in and had something like 55 yards rushing. It was a great thing of beauty to watch. ;D

Nice pick I should picked them odds too instead of some EPL games I picked earlier.
I saw good odds for over 49.5 too but decided to stick with the other sports.
What a bad decision for me to make. This one pick would of made me $200 with the 2 other matches I won this morning but lost by 1 corner in the third pick. :-\

Thanks for the well wishes mate! It was a great trip and lots of fun was had by all.

And Hey guys, I'm just back from my Christmas cruise. Hope everyone is having a nice safe holiday so far.

Damn, looks like my picks from last weekend got blown up. Oh well, that's ok. I can't really complain. Sorry to anyone following my picks though. It was only my first negative weekend for this thread (I think. I'd have to go through all my posts here to make sure, but I believe it was my only negative weekend) and I'm still overall up for this thread as well as up in bet units for my own personal ledger since the beginning of this NFL/NCAA season.

And Congrats to all the winners this last weekend! Seems I missed a lot of exciting games while I was away.

Also just like to congratulate Junko on another great win with the teaser parlay and a nice overall profit for the weekend. I wish I could say the same but it didn't go to plan for me anyway I'll move on to next weekends games.
I actually lost the teaser, which put me in the negative for the weekend so  :'(  I'm with you on the sad boat, mate, but also moving on to this weekend's games.  :)  I need to catch up on/cram in some research/analysis for this weekend's possible plays and picks...

Alright, gonna make a couple of plays on today's NCAA semifinal bowls to get back into the flow of things after my vacation.

NitrogenSports NCAA, picks in bold:

Washington Huskies vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -14 (1.978) (neutral site)
Washington Huskies vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -15.5 (1.850)

Earlier this month, I took the early line on Alabama -15.5, speculating that the line would move higher. Well, it did go to -16 at one point, but it is currently only -14 with hours to go until kickoff. I am going to double up on Alabama and take the -14 for one bet unit. Bama's defense is NFL caliber and the Huskies didn't face anyone even remotely close to it this season.

Parlay, 1% bet, (4.187 odds), picks in bold
      1. Washington Huskies vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -14
      2. Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Clemson Tigers ML

Ohio St. -2.5 vs Clemson seems like a pick'em game so I'm taking Clemson ML. Both teams have excellent coaches and both have very strong defenses, especially their secondaries. Deshaun Watson of Clemson is the better, more explosive QB and has the weapons to overcome the Buckeye's D. I think Clemson will put up at least 30-35 points while holding down Ohio St.'s offense and will win outright to set up a rematch of last year's NCAA Championship between Alabama and Clemson. This has been Clemson's mission this whole season, to get another shot at Alabama for the National Championship.

First of all, Happy New Year everyone!

I had a very nice start to bring in the New Year today with my college football picks. Hopefully it's a good omen for the rest of the year. Anyway, today easily  made up for last week's hiccup. Alabama and Clemson came through for me nicely to set up a rematch of last year's college football championship, or whatever they are calling it nowadays. I should have some NFL picks up for Sunday's games in a few hours or so. I need to check a few things first. Just wanted to get today's results into the ledger.

Saturday Results:

Washington Huskies vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -14 (1.978) : Win +0.98 bet units
Washington Huskies vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -15.5 (1.850) : Win +0.85 bet units

Parlay, 1% bet, (4.187 odds) : Win +3.19 bet units
      1. Washington Huskies vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -14 : W
      2. Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Clemson Tigers ML : W

Saturday Total: +5.02 bet units
Thread Total: +12.03 bet units

Post by: Junko on January 01, 2017, 07:28:05 AM
It's the final week of the NFL regular season and because most of the playoff spots have already been determined, there are only a few possibilities I can see for making any plays. Most games today are meaningless - many teams are out of playoff contention, several teams that made the playoffs will either be holding their starters out of games or limiting their playing time significantly to reduce exposure to injury. Next week with the playoffs starting should have some better spots.

Sunday 1 Dec. NitrogenSports, 1% bets, picks in bold:

Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions +3 (2.056)

Winner of this game takes the division and a ticket to the playoffs. Detroit is 6-1 straight up at home. Green Bay has had problems playing on the road (3-4), only winning against poor teams away. The Lions are not a poor team despite losing big on the road to Dallas last week. I'll take Detroit at home and the points.

New York Giants @ Washington Redskins, Over 46 (1.948)

Washington is playing for a playoff spot so they are highly motivated (at least they should be - like they should have been highly motivated last week, but blew it). Kirk Cousins and the Redskins offense will be putting up points while their below average defense will be giving up points. The Giants are locked into the 5th playoff seed so there isn't much motivation other than their offensive skill players padding their stats and tuning up for the playoffs. The Giants defense won't be giving their best effort as again, the team is locked into the 5th seed whether they win or lose so there isn't any incentive for the Giants D to go out of their way to stop Washington's offense. All this points to lots of points being scored so I'm taking the Over.

What is your total bankroll?

What is your total bankroll?

My total bitcoin sportsbetting bankroll is currently at 1.1203 btc (up +0.1203). It's actually higher: 1.1977 btc, but for the purposes of this "provably fair" tipster pickster thread, I only include bets that I've made since this thread was started. My starting bankroll for this NFL/NCAAF season was 1 btc. My standard bets are 1%, 2%, and 3% bets (0.01, 0.02, 0.03) depending on how I feel, as you can see on my betslips.

I only bet on NFL, NCAAF and occasionally MMA, boxing and rugby. Sportsbetting is just something I do on the side. Poker is my main gambling outlet. Football (American) season is like my "hunting season" so to speak. It only lasts five months from September to February. And while my focus is mostly poker as far as gambling is concerned, I do love me some betting action on the football.

:o Dolphins just scored now it is 20-14 for the Patriots.

Will Miami be able to actually pull this win off and eliminate New England and the Superman Brady from the Playoffs which as lnog as I have been watching hasn't happened before?

Upd: Well Patriots just ran down the field for 80 yards being on their on 30 year line. So it is not going to happen now. ::)

I can not believe what I just saw in the Buffalo Bills game.
The Ny Jets fielded the ball on kicking back. It lands on the 1 yard line then the receiving team calls fair catch then the Jets fall on the ball to get a touchdown.
That I have never seen in my life happen before. :-[
The announcer was saying that is just as surprising as what Mara Carey did on stage last night if not even more surprising. :D

A couple of big upsets so far today with the Jets thrashing the Bills and also the Eagles beating the Cowboys and also the Browns are playing well and might even pull off another big upset in OT by beating the Steelers at home. I decided not to post tips on this weeks games after last weeks terrible result.

Hey, mate. Actually, even if New England had lost, they would not have been eliminated from the playoffs. The playoffs start next week. Miami is still in the playoffs also despite losing today. The implications for this game were about playoff seeding. Because of this win, New England has the best record of the AFC and by that virtue, they get a first round bye in the playoffs and they will have home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. If Miami would have won, they would have gotten a higher seed - 5th seed, I believe and would be playing Houston in the first round of the playoffs. Since they lost, they are the 6th seed and now must play Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round next week, which will be a harder game to win.

Yeah, that was crazy, and very bone-headed playing by the Bills. The ball is live for either team on kickoffs. That was like a long onside kick, lol. And firing your head coach the day before a game is pretty crazy and bone-headed as well. I think the reasoning though is that the team will be competing with other sorry-ass teams who have fired their head coaches this year to find competent head coaching replacements as soon as possible.

Yep, this week is different and kind of screwy as far as betting because teams that have made the playoffs will be resting/holding out their starting players for the upcoming playoffs. No one wants any of their key players to get injured needlessly in meaningless games. That's what happened to Derek Carr of Oakland, breaking his leg last week. Now they will have to rely on their back up QB in the playoffs. The Steelers and Cowboys held out/limited most of their star players today and that's why their games were what they were and why it wasn't really that great as far as betting compared to other weeks.

Next week when it's playoff time, it will be back to real deal football, although there won't be any really bad teams involved as well as less games to chose from.

Man, Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins are so fail. They had two chances - last week and this week - to claim a playoff spot and laid an egg both times. Pathetic. Lost both bets for today, but meh, it was only two bets. I'm already looking forward to next week's NFL playoff action as well as the College Football Playoff National Championship between Alabama and Clemson.

Sunday results:

New York Giants @ Washington Redskins, Over 46 (1.948) : -1.00 bet unit
Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions +3 (2.056) : -1.00 bet unit

Sunday Total: -2.00 bet units
Thread Total: +10.03 bet units

Even though it was a bad result overall you have done well up 10 units since starting this topic. I am also looking forward to next weeks playoffs and i still have one bet alive for the Super Bowl and that is the New York Giants. I was a little upset as the teams I picked last week all won this week but I didn't bet lol. Anyway we move onto next week and hopefully we both do well.

Yeah, mate. No one can escape variance. Just got to trust your research and analysis and keep moving forward and grinding. And hopefully in the long run you come out ahead. Good luck with your Giants SB pick. (I will be picking against them though this week vs the Packers - nothing personal, mate  :))

Some early plays for this upcoming weekend's NFL playoffs wild card round.

NitrogenSports NFL playoffs wild card round, 1% bets, picks in bold:

New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers -4.5 (1.948)

Green Bay's defense isn't so great while the Giants have been playing really good defense lately and will likely harass Rodgers all game. However, Rodgers is on a roll and is playing at an MVP level right now. Both QB's have weapons to throw to, but I trust Aaron Rodgers at home more than I trust Eli Manning to get the job done.

Oakland Raiders @ Houston Texans -3 (2.056)

The Raiders have been good to me all year, but they lost Carr to injury, which is a damn shame because they were having a magical season up to that point. It looks like they will be starting their third string QB Conner Cook who is actually better than their 2nd string QB McGloin. However, going with their third string QB means the Raiders will be playing with a QB who has gotten no practice reps with the first team offense the whole season. Houston's defense is ranked 1st in the league and you can be sure with this being the playoffs, their gameplan will include putting extreme pressure on Conner Cook.

4-Team Teaser +6.5 pts (ties lose), 1% bet, (3.220 odds):
      1. Detroit Lions @ Seattle Seahawks -7.5 (+6.5)
      2. Miami Dolphins @ Pittsburgh Steelers -10 (+6.5)
      3. New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers -4.5 (+6.5)
      4. Oakland Raiders @ Houston Texans -3 (+6.5)

Going with the Seahawks and their experience over the less experienced Lions in the playoffs. The Seahawks have looked a little shaky though even with home field advantage so I want to push the line down a bit.

Pittsburgh is a good team with lots of weapons and should win at home, but Miami is no pushover and that line of -10 seems a little high to me so again, I want to move it down a bit.

For my Green Bay and Houston reasoning, see my above straight bets against the spread.

Thanks mate. Wow, 40-1. That would be an amazing win. Good Luck. Who knows, the Giants might still have some of that playoff magic left around from the last two times they went to the SB with Eli. Even though they are the 5th seed in the NFC, I can see them making it to the Super Bowl as the dark horse. I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if Eli suddenly turned it on to go along with their defense which has been playing really well lately and then you throw in a bit of luck on top of it. That would be so sick since no one even talking about them making the SB like all the other teams in the mix.

I am liking the picks that you have made on these play-off games that are going on. And that bet against the Raiders was spot on along with the Giants winning. Those were two hard ones to predict. ;)
I think I will be trying my luck with the rest of these play-off games because some good choices to take with your help. And I think I will be using NitogenSports as a sports book for my next bets because the odds are just as nice if not better than where I am betting at now. ;)

Thanks for following my picks. I hope whatever info I am able to give is helpful and profitable for anyone following. I like NitrogenSports because they put up their NFL and NCAAF lines really fast and early in the week, which is good for bettors like me who like to jump on the early lines for some (possibly) good value picks. Also they grade bets extremely fast as well, as in within minutes of a result. Good Luck with your bets.

Ok great to know that they grade bets very fast because I have had numerous problems with getting my bets graded and at times had them in pending for 14 hours after the games results have been given then had to contact support to clear them. Even promotional offers are very difficult to get from them and have to show proof time and time again to even get them to give me that back.
I will be using them in the very near future once I am done with this one that I am currently with.
Send me a affiliate link in a pm if you would like.

I usually place bets of high volume from my bank roll. And this current site I am with will not be getting anymore btc from my bets from me any more. :)

Yes, late grading can handcuff you if you are pressing your bankroll and are waiting for your funds to be released and there are other games you want to bet on immediately. Having to wait for your wagers and winnings to become available for an extended amount of time is very annoying. Sure, you can increase your bankroll amount to counteract this issue, but then you have those funds locked up when they could be used elsewhere. Anyway, I will only bet on sites that have fast grading. Anything longer than 20-30 minutes is just ridiculous.

I have a bet on the upcoming NCAA College Playoff Championship Game which will be played Monday 9 January.

NitrogenSports, Monday 9 Jan., 1% bet, pick in bold:

Clemson Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -6.5 (1.949) (neutral site)

This is sort of a tough one because I can see ways for either team to cover/win in this rematch of last year's championship game. Clemson is hungry for this one and if anyone has a chance of knocking off undefeated Alabama, it's Clemson. If the Tigers win, it will be because of their QB Deshaun Watson. He is much improved from last year. He has the poise and strength to stand in the pocket, get hit and still deliver the ball to his targets. If they win, it will also be because their defensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and Bama's running game like they did last week against Ohio State.

The only thing is, is that Alabama is not Ohio State and is undefeated for a reason. Bama's defense is on a whole other level. If the Crimson Tide wins, it will be because of their defense eventually overwhelming the Tigers and causing Deshaun Watsun to commit turnovers. As I've said in previous posts on Alabama, they have an NFL caliber defense. Most, if not all, of those guys will be playing in the NFL soon.

Like I said, it could go either way because Clemson is super hungry and has the QB and dynamic attack that can beat Alabama, but I am taking Alabama pretty much based on their elite defense and their great head coach. Alabama always plays huge in big games and you can't get any bigger than this one in college football. The key will be shutting down Deshaun Watson and getting turnovers. I think it will be somewhat close in the first half, but Alabama eventually overwhelms in the second half to cover. Roll Tide.

I was able to get Alabama -6.5, but the line has since moved to -7 now. I would still be comfortable taking Bama and laying the 7 pts though.

I agree 100% with this pick mate as I think Bama will win and most likely win easily and cover the spread and it seems that most of thhhe public agree because like you said the line has already moved to -7 now which is a sign that the public is betting on Bama to win and cover the spread.

Quote
Thanks mate. Wow, 40-1. That would be an amazing win. Good Luck. Who knows, the Giants might still have some of that playoff magic left around from the last two times they went to the SB with Eli. I know 40-1 was really good odds at the time and I couldn't let that go so I decided to put some money on it. Could we see Pats/Giants 3? Now that would be some Super Bowl if we get Pats/Giants again lol and most likely this time Pats win but like you said the Giants defense has been good all season and is hard to break down and if there is a QB and team that can it's most likely the Pats. Anyway I'm looking too far into the future lol let's get through this week first. Good luck once again mate.

I'll grade all my NFL bets tomorrow (today) though after the last game.

Your bet on the Packers is looking good at the moment currently winning by 9 points heading into the 4th quarter. Unlucky with your bet on the total over 47 on the Dolphins/Steelers game, if the Steelers just scored a touchdown in the 4th you would of won. Anyway good luck with the Packers mate and same for you Junko as so far your teaser is looking good.

NFL Wild Card Playoff weekend is in the books and all the favorites destroyed the dogs, covering their respective spreads easily. I'm pretty happy with how things went today, even though I try not to be results oriented, since I know very well you can be riding high one day, but then crash and burn the next.

Thanks, vella, mate. I just wish I was more confident and made it a parlay instead of a teaser. Sorry that your Giants Super Bowl pick went down though. That would have been a nice hit for you.

And congrats, mrdeposit on your wins. Bad luck on your Mia-Pit Over bet though. The Dolphins or the Steelers should have scored at least once more in the 4th, but they both blew it.

Anyway, here are my results for this weekend's NFL action (totals at the bottom):

NFL Wild Card Playoff weekend is in the books and all the favorites destroyed the dogs, covering their respective spreads easily. I'm pretty happy with how things went today, even though I try not to be results oriented, since I know very well you can be riding high one day, but then crash and burn the next.

My pick: Green Bay Packers ML

I'm not sure GB will cover the spread on this one so I went with the win.

Congrats on your hits mate and a nice little profit for the weekend. Yeah I'm now out of my Super Bowl bets but I knew they were going to be high risk and I was willing to risk it for a big reward but it didn't pan out that way. Overall I'm in profit for the season even though on my tipster topic I'm down. Just think if you took all the favorites to cover the spread you would of made a nice amount of cash but at least you still hit your teaser but yeah I know what you mean.

I want to thank Junko for making this topic on the nfl because I make good profit following you picks. I miss this weeks picks because I was away and I am sad because I see you make good money again. Maybe this week I put bets on your picks.

Thanks, bud. Yeah, it was nice results especially after NFL week 17 week's meh. I know, I know, we said we've moved on from that debacle, but it's still nice to come back. And who knows what next week will bring. Anyway, it's good to hear you are in profit for the year. That's what it's all about, the long term. Keep it up, mate!

Hey, cryptoburst61. Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it. And thanks for following. Sorry you missed this last week's picks, but I'm happy for you that you've made good profit following my picks. I should have some plays for next weekend's NFL divisional playoff action soon, like within the next day or so.

Big game tonight: College Football Playoff Championship between Clemcon Tigers and undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide.

I've previously made my pick on this game already, Alabama -6.5. Since then, the line has gone to -7, then back to -6.5 and now it's currently at -6. So it looks like the money is coming in late on Clemson.  I don't think Alabama offensive coordinator and playcaller, Lane Kiffin, suddenly leaving Alabama is as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be. It's a big deal for sure, but like I said, not as big a deal as people think. I'm still sticking with Alabama covering -6.5. Not that I have a choice, since my bet has already been booked, but my reasoning remains the same. I'll just quote what I said earlier:

Roll Tide.

Clemson Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -6.5 (1.949) : Loss

Well, I lost my bet. But wow, what an amazing come from behind finish for Clemson to win the title on the last drive of the game. Deshaun Watson was clutch for the Tigers.

Nice profit overall but wow that game was good. I didn't bet on it because I don't bet on college games but I had a feeling to bet on Clemson and I told myself no I don't want to throw away money. I guess I should have made that bet.  :-\

I agree, that was some game between two of the best teams in the NCAA Football and that's what the fans want to see the 2 best teams fight it out and they sure did. I also didn't bet only because in my opinion it was a tough game to try and pick a winner and also I already put on a futures bet on Ohio State to win the Championship for this season which they fell short so I decided not to bet in this game. Sorry for the loss Junko but at least you are way in profit for the season.

Hey guys. Yeah, that game was one for the ages. Well, I said in my analysis that the game could go either way and if Clemson was going to win, it would be because of Deshaun Watson. And that happened to indeed be the case. The way he was carving up Alabama's secondary, it just seemed like scoring on that last drive was inevitable. I took Alabama based on their elite defense, but things didn't turn out. Oh well. And no need to feel sorry, :)  it's just one game. I try not to get too upset over losing and not too high when I win. I know there will be many, many losses for me in the future. And even if I lose more bets than I win, hopefully at the end of the day I can still be in profit  ;). That's the great thing about sportbetting (and poker) - if you practice good bankroll management, it is still possible to end up in profit even if you lose more bets than you win.

Ok, here are my plays for this weekend's NFL Divisional Playoff Round.

NitrogenSports, NFL Divisional Playoffs, picks in bold:

Pittsburgh Steelers ML (2.076) 1% bet @ Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City is the favorite (-1.5) playing at home. The Chiefs are known for their defense, but I think they are a little bit overrated, tbh. They give up the 17th most passing yards and are ranked 25th vs. the run. Even with their home field advantage, that just isn't going to cut it against the Steeler's three-headed monster: Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell.

2-Team, 6 point Teaser (ties lose), 2% bet (1.830 odds), picks in bold:
      1. Houston Texans @ New England Patriots -15 (+6)
      2. Pittsburgh Steeelrs +1.5 (+6) @ Kansas City Chiefs

The divisional round of the playoffs marks the beginning of the final leg of Tom Brady's and Coach Belichick's "F**k You" Tour against the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell. The line is currently New England -15. Houston's defense, led by Jadeveon Clowney, is top notch, but I don't see any way Houston can win in New England. The Pats beat Houston 27-0 at home earlier in the season with their 3rd string QB while Brady was out on suspension. Houston hasn't shown me anything that makes me think the result this time will be any different, not with Osweiler at QB and especially now that Brady will be playing. I'm doing this bet as a teaser (2% bet) with the Steelers just because I don't feel like sweating the full -15 pt spread.

Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons -4 (1.966) 1% bet

I'm taking the Falcons here playing at home. They have much more weapons and a more balanced attack on offense. Even though QB Matt Ryan isn't known for winning the big games, I still think he can lead the Falcons to victory here and cover the 4 pts. Like I said, he has the weapons and also, Seattle isn't very good on the road (outside of their win over the Patriots in New England) and they'll be without Earl Thomas in the secondary. This will be a tougher match for Seattle travelling across the country than when they played Detroit at home last week.

My picks

4 team parlay with the picks above.

I believe in defense over offense so I went with Seahawks (besides the fact that im a fan).

Nice, man. Yeah, as the saying goes, "Defense wins championships." Except for the times when they don't. :P  Seriously though, I hear ya, dude. '85 Bears, '00 Ravens, '13 Seahawks, last year's Broncos, and (?)this years Seahawks(?). Seattle has as good a chance as anyone else in the playoffs, if not better since they certainly have more recent experience than some of the other teams still alive right now.

In any case, these four playoff games this weekend should be good, even Houston-New England.

So Good Luck on your picks and also to your Seahawks!

Yes that's true defense wins championships in almost every sport that is played. I think the Pats are a sure thing this weekend but are too short for my liking. The other games I think will be close and to be honest any of the teams can win, for the dogs I like the Packers and also the Seahawks. Good luck to everyone who has a bet on the games.

Sorry you lost my friend as I also thought the Seahawks had a big shot at winning this game but the Falcons were just too good for them. I didn't bet on the game because it was tough to call. Well done Junko on the Falcons -4 and the Pats are looking good at the moment at covering your 1st leg in the teaser.

Just hating to see them implode. With the first call by the refs not to allow that td in the first then that call in the fourth with bringing back that 40 yard up the middle play on them they were not only fighting against the Falcons but also the refs. That was the worst reverse calls I have ever seen in a game before.
That cost them the game and also losing Robertson.

True, I fired off a bet on the Pats game over/under, I took the over 44.5, which made up for the lost, I took on the Seahawks game. But my team is out of the playoffs. Hopefully, I can just make a profit through the rest of the playoffs and not care who wins the super bowl this year.

Yeah me too, I'm really looking forward to watching the Packers and Cowboys game and I did put something on the Packers to win as the dogs. I believe they have a great shot at winning the game but on the other hand I know how tough the Cowboys are to beat at home this season which makes for an exciting game to watch. Gratz on the Packers winning bet, vella. Nice one, mate! I didn't bet this game just because I wasn't feeling it, betting-wise, but wow, what a thriller of a game. The Cowboys came back from being down 21-3 and from 28-13 to tie it up twice, only to fall victim to the magic of Aaron Rodgers leading the Pack with just 33 seconds left to set up the last second game winning field goal. Rodgers deserves league MVP over any of the other candidates by more than a mile. I'm not a Packers fan at all, but there's no denying Rodgers is the Man right now.

Thanks mate and I must admit that I was a little worried lol after the Packers gave up those leads during the 2nd half. And because I went with the Packers at the money line I was even more scared that Dak would pull off the victory with a game winning touchdown but the Packers were able to keep it to a field goal to tie it up again and then when Rogers was sacked I thought oh man we are going into OT but Rogers was able to find his man inside field goal range which again was so close to being out. I guess I had luck on my side today as I also won my 2 leg parlay in the EPL so it was a great day for me betting. The Steelers are looking good mate and should cover the spread for your teaser bet.

It was a great round for both of us mate and how good was that yesterday with the 2 dogs winning in close games. It now makes for an interesting Conference Championships this Sunday. Could we see a Steelers Packers Super Bowl from a few years ago? or will the Pats be there once again and win it all? And let's not forget the Falcons as they have been a surprise packet for me this season and at the start of the season they were 40-1 to win the Super Bowl and here they are just one win away from making it. I can't wait for Sunday to come along.

Yeah mate, I'm really looking forward to watching these two conference championship games this Sunday to see which two teams will go on to the Superbowl. The most intriguing story for me is whether or not Brady, Belicheck and the Pats will make it to the Big Game and win it to put the final touch on their "F*ck You, NFL and Goodell" Victory Tour to get their revenge.

So here are my picks for this Sunday's NFL Conference Playoff Round:

Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots -6 (2.056) 2 bet units

Taking the Pats here at -6 and at home. Despite Pittsburgh's potent array of offensive weapons, I think coach Belicheck as usual will gameplan successfully, using the short, quick passing attack with Brady and complement it with the hard-nose running of Blount to control the clock and keep the Steelers offense off the field. And of course, Brady and Belicheck have some extra motivation and are looking to give the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell two middle fingers by winning it all.

2-Team Parlay, 3.742 odds, 2 bet units

      1. Green Bay Packers +6 (1.921) @ Atlanta Falcons
      2. Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots -6 (1.948)

On paper, Atlanta are an overall better team than Green Bay. However, Dallas was also a better team overall on paper, as were the New York Giants and Green Bay won both those playoff games. Aaron Rodgers has some kind of voodoo magic going on where he and the Packers just don't lose now. Ever since they were 4-6 earlier in the season when he said they would run the table, they've been unstoppable. Rodgers has obviously sold both his and Olivia Munn's souls to the Devil and if you are going to sell your soul to the Devil, you are going to want the terms of the deal to include that you win the whole shabang - as in every game including the Superbowl. So how can you bet against that?

Nice picks mate and I think you should win both picks. I really like the Packers to win and have liked them for a while now as I was picking them many times through out the season. It's just something about this team that tell's me they are going to the Super Bowl and may even win it all. I'm going with the Packers at the money line and I also like the Pats to cover the spread just like you picked Junko. Good luck mate and let's hope it's another successful weekend for the both of us.

Well it's not looking good for the Packers at the moment being down by 24 to 0 at the start of the 3rd quarter. The Falcons are dominating the Packers at the moment and now it will be interesting to see if Rogers can pull off a come from behind win to make the Super Bowl. Hopefully they can score some points for you Junko to at least cover the spread.

Yeah thanks mate, but looks like the Aaron Rodgers magic finally died out today, rip. Apparently he didn't sell his soul to the devil after all, unfortunately. Oh well, let's go Pats!

Due to their lost my parlay is done. Doesn't matter if Pats win now.  :'(

I win my bet on the Atlanta Falcons winning i put a bet on them to win because all season they play well and are hard to beat at home so i pick them. The Patriots win easy game against the Steelers and i think they also win the super bowl against the falcons.

Congrats on your win with the Falcons winning. I lost my bet as I had the Packers winning but they were not the same team as they have been today.

@Junko

At least you got the Pats right mate as they dominated the Steelers tonight and they never looked like losing the game. Unlucky with missing the parlay due to the Packers losing but at least your overall results from the season and playoffs are in profit. That's what counts most.

Yeah, my parlay lost too. I had in mind this might happen so I hedged with a NE straight spread bet which I was more confident in.

Congrats, cryptoburst! Yeah, the Falcons they've been playing very well this whole season, but not many people hyping them until recently. They've been the Dark Horse as I mentioned earlier in the season with everyone giving all the other teams the attention and now they have given themselves the opportunity to win the big one.

@vella: yeah, it would have been nice if the Packers would have helped me out with my parlay at 3.742 odds, but with the Pats covering, this weekend essentially turned out to be a push for me and you know what I always say, "A push is better than a shove." :P

And the regular season (and possibly the wildcard playoff round) is where you make your money in NFL sportsbetting as well as in the NCAA. The conference round of the playoffs and Superbowl betting are more kind of just for fun since those games can and do go either way on the spread and even ML much of the time.

Just looking at the early line (New England -3, O/U: 58), I pretty much know what my basic bets will be without having to do much analysis. The more interesting bets will be all the kooky-dook prop bets. They already have odds on the coin toss and if the coin toss winner wins or loses the game. I'm waiting to see the odds for which player will score the first TD, if there will be a missed extra point, if there will be a safety, what the Over/Under will be for the how many minutes/seconds the National Anthem will last, etc, etc. ::)

Anyway, my results from this Sunday:

I know Junko it's crazy on what they take bets on these days when it's a big sporting event like the Super Bowl. I might play with some of these bet options but I do like to bet on who will be the MVP of the Super Bowl and the o/u as it can be tough to pick a straight out winner. We still have plenty of time to place bets so I'll wait and see before I place any bets on the Super Bowl. Good luck with your bets Junko.

Thanks, mate. And good luck to you too.

Yeah, I plan to make regular bets on the game (spread/ML/O-U) as well as some smaller prop bets just for fun. The lines haven't moved at all since the open. Either people not that interested or the sharp money is just waiting. We'll see as the game gets closer...

It's Super Bowl LI time.  New England Patriots (-3) VS. Atlanta Falcons (O/U: 58.5)

If this were a regular season game between these two teams at a neutral site at this current time, I prolly wouldn't even bet it since I think it's a toss up and could go either way. But it's the Super Bowl and of course you have to bet it.

Right off the bat, I'm taking NE minus the points. Yes, Atlanta has a high octane offense with many weapons both in their passing game as well as their running game. We've seen how they can just dominate and overwhelm teams with their dynamic passing attack that has 4 receivers that can beat you and their two back rushing attack which runs the ball straight down your throat. It's a balance that is tough to defend. However...

Like I said, I'm gonna go with New England -3. While they don't have the big name weapons Atlanta has, Tom Brady can make anyone on his offense a weapon. Bill Belicheck and his coaches will have a game plan which will at least slow the Falcons down enough. He will use the short, high percentage passing game to control the ball and the clock. Experience is on the Patriot's side also. And then of course, there's the ultimate goal/revenge factor of Brady and Belicheck wanting to stick it to commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL.

Throughout this season, including even before starting this thread, betting on New England to cover (along with betting against Cleveland vs whoever :)) has been a big part of my profits. So going with the Pats this one last time is a no brainer for me.

Good Luck to all betting the Super Bowl!

In my view, the Patriots are the clear favorite in the Superbowl tonight. Tom Brady has an extensive experience which will help the team in hard phases. He has already shown its world-class gameplay in the playoffs this season and in many seasons before. Also the odds of all bet providers speaks a clear language. I bet on a victory for the Patriots @ 1.64

Finally the big day is here Super Bowl 51 I decided to go with the Pats tonight to take it out and the odds are pretty good in my opinion at the money line but I'll also be taking them to cover the -3 point spread. And just for a fun bet I also took the Pats race to 10 points @1.80 as they always seem to score first and get to 10 points a lot of the times in Super Bowls so I'm hoping Brady and the Pats can do it once again. Good luck to everyone who is having a bet on the game. Go Pats!

I am going with the minority here and all around the world and going with the Atlanta Falcons.
Their money line is not that different and only just over 2.22 on my book.
I think it is more profitable to go with the score bets. Over or under it is hard one to decide.
Maybe with the over of +3 points for them to win it is a safer bet.
We will wait and see cause it is about to start in an hour from now.
So good luck to everyone who is with me on this one! ;D

Now that was one Epic game to watch! It didn't look likely that the Pats could pull off the win being down by over 3 touchdowns. This shows that Brady is most likely the best QB in NFL history with 5 Super Bowl rings. I missed out on my bet on the Pats to score 10 points first but I made up for it on the money line and also for them to cover the -3 spread. Congrats Junko on your wins mate and what a great way to end a season in profit.

You almost won it, but Patriot made an amazing comeback, it was the first extra time in the history, and the biggest point gap miracle. But most people bet on patriot, if they can't win, bookie will be extremely happy.

I'm not much of a Patriots fan (except when I have money on them :)), but wow, what an amazing game/finish. One for the ages.

Thanks, mate.  And congrats to you as well on your winning bets!

What a nutty game as far as betting. By halftime, I thought my bets were sunk, even more so halfway through the 3rd quarter with the Pats down 28-3. Like I said, I'm not much of a Pats fan, but as they did for me throughout the regular season and playoffs, they came through for me one last time in pulling out a win, covering the spread and hittiing the Over as well. Gratz to everyone else who won on this game. A great cap to a profitable hunting season for me.  8)
