The initial mining during the first 35 days will be based on Proof-of-Work. That time period is probably too short to get an ASIC or FPGA implementation working, so in that respect, it is ASIC/FPGA resistant. The blockchain will then be secured by Proof of Authority for the next half-year or so, and will then be migrated to Proof-of-Stake when we have that ready.

If you would like to participate in the initial mining, you'll be able to download and run the software for that sometime around June 12.

No, there are not.  One thing that might be significant to note is that the CredaCash currency was designed and intended to be a utility token, not an investment contract aka security.  This is important so that the project can see the widest adoption and be used in real transactions.  If the currency were to be classified as an investment contract, then it would be subject to a wide range of regulations, including where it could be acquired and how it could be used.  There are a number of factors regulators may examine to determine if a token is an investment contract, and one of those factors is whether the promotion of the project emphasizes the technology, or whether it emphasizes the credentials of the team.  To the extent possible, the CredaCash project is going to avoiding taking any action that might lead a regulator to incorrectly conclude that the currency is an investment contract, and for that reason, our emphasis is and will continue to be on the technology.  Everyone is welcome to download the software and source code and try it out--that is the best way understand the project.

Does it mean that it is CPU-only mineable? Does  fast and powerful CPU have an  advantage over others? Number of threads, size of cache, amount of RAM in the system, is it important? Is videocard is useless in your algo?

The CPU integer performance will be the only thing that makes much of a difference.  The mining is multi-threaded and will run on as many virtual cores as you give it.  A videocard/GPU won't help.

The mint will generate 10 billion units of currency. We have no idea what those 10 billion units of currency will be worth in terms of US$ -- that might be decided by the market at some point in the future. 80% of that currency will go to a non-profit Foundation, and the current plan is for the Foundation to auction that currency to support its non-profit mission.  The project does not believe that will be too much--we have no doubt the Foundation will be able to find beneficial uses for the proceeds.

That statement is no longer in our FAQ.  Our current plan is to initially have 10 billion units of currency, of which 80% will go to a non-profit Foundation, and to implement Proof-of-Stake mining in the future.

80% of the initial currency is going to the non-profit Foundation.  That will likely fall to something closer to 40% of the total currency once Proof-of-Stake mining is implemented.

Note that we are not trying to copy any other currency.  Our primary goal is to create a completely private and highly scalable currency that can be used worldwide in real transactions, which no cryptocurrency has yet accomplished.  If that means doing something new and different, we are willing to do that.

The initial miners will get 2% of the total currency mined in the first 35 days, which is a total of 200 million units, while the non-profit Foundation will get 80%.  The Foundation will not be participating in Proof-of-Stake mining, so it will not gain addition currency when Proof-of-Stake mining is implemented.  To ensure this, and to ensure the Foundation holdings are used as described on our website, the Foundation currency is being placed in a separate pool where it can be tracked.  Our goal is to create a completely private and highly scalable currency that can be used worldwide in real transactions, which no cryptocurrency has yet accomplished, and if that means doing things different than prior projects, we are willing to do that.

I'm sure it will be fine and people will love you for letting them generously own 2% of the supply.

If your code is like your money supply ideas then it will be lovely too I'm sure.



 

The plan is for that 2% to be all of the circulating currency supply for roughly the first year after launch, until the Foundation starts auctioning its holdings and Proof-of-Stake mining starts. You are trying to hide the fact that after a year you will hold a massive 98% of the money.

The whole crypto currency idea is about decentralization.

What you are doing is not decentralization, it's the opposite: it is centralization.

Of course we believe in decentralization. And of course the project is completely centralized today, because it has not yet launched.  We will be working on a deliberate path toward complete decentralization over the next year or so. The first step toward decentralization starts tomorrow, when miners who participate in the initial currency mint will receive 200 million units of currency, which is intended to be the entire circulating currency supply for roughly the first year after launch. The project will later take additional steps toward decentralization when the Foundation begins auctioning its currency holdings and Proof-of-Stake mining starts. People who believe in the technology will get involved in mining, and people looking for a quick pump and dump will not. That is fine with us. Rome was not built in a day, but the next step will start tomorrow, when the project launches.

As mentioned, we would be happy to engage in this debate at some point in the future. Today though we need to finish the software release.

CredaCash mining will start as soon as possible after 11:00 pm New York time on Saturday, June 15, 2019. The mining software can be started at anytime, and will begin generating transactions that can be accepted into the blockchain as soon as mining starts. The CredaCash network runs over Tor for both privacy and security, and tor.exe is bundled with the CredaCash Windows distribution so it doesn't have to be downloaded and configured separately.  The bundled tor.exe may be causing that particular virus checker to give you an alert for "PUA.ProxyWeb".  You could alternately build from source (which is a fair bit easier to do for Linux than Windows).  Or you could delete tor.exe and see if you no longer get the virus alert, or download tor from the Tor Project website (the specific file is tor-win32-0.3.5.8.zip located at https://dist.torproject.org/torbrowser/8.5.1/ ) and see if that also gives you a virus alert.

This indicates that for some reason your node has not yet connected to the network and started receiving blocks (the wallet will stop saying "Mint not yet started" when the network node receives block 1).  You could try shutting down the network node (Control-C), then wait until it exits, wait a few seconds more, and then restart it.  Note you can leave the wallet running during that time (it may report server errors, but should return to normal when the network node is running again).

Yes.  As mentioned earlier, the entire CredaCash network runs over Tor, so one possibility is that your computer antivirus is blocking Tor.  Instead of running ccnode.exe, you could try running Tor\tor.exe and look to see if it runs and reports that it is able to connect to the Tor network.

FYI, the network is currently receiving about 260 mint transactions per minute, so if your computer is able to generate 4 mint transactions per minute, you should be receiving one mining reward (1000 units of currency) on average about once every hour.

That is not good.  If Tor can't run, then CredaCash can't run.  Try giving Tor a few minutes and see if it's able to make any progress.  If not, trying stopping Tor (using Control-C), then run the command:
    del %APPDATA%\tor\*.*
to clear the Tor state, and then run Tor again and see if it does any better.

Also check to see if you might already have Tor running on that computer.

Might it be possible that your ISP (internet service provider) is blocking Tor?  I have heard for example that it can be difficult to run Tor in China because it is blocked...

FYI, it looks like the network is now up to about 320 mint transactions per minute, so a computer generating 5.3 mint transactions per minute would on average earn one mining reward (1000 units of currency) every hour.

This would be the expected log output if it was generated prior to the start of mining (the log timestamps use your local time zone, not GMT).

In any event, could you try stopping ccnode (using Control-C), wait for it to fully stop, then wait a few seconds more, then restart it?  Then check the log output again if it is still unable to connect?

An update on CredaCash mining.

Since the start of mining, approximately 2 million units of currency have been rewarded to miners.  There are 198 million units remaining to be rewarded.

The block rate has been running close to one block every 20 seconds.  At that rate, the first stage of mining will finish around August 1.

Over the past two hours, an average of just over 1000 mint transactions have been submitted to the network every minute.  That means if your computer is generating 11.2 mint transactions per minute, then you should be earning on average two mining rewards (2000 units of currency) every hour.

In CredaCash, you have to generate a new destination for each counterparty.  This is done using the command getnewaddress.  Your counterparty can then send one or more transactions to that destination using the command sendtoaddress -- HOWEVER, the live blockchain will not accept sendtoaddress transactions while the initial mining is in progress.  You will have to wait until August to send mined currency on the live blockchain.  (This was done as a precaution, to keep things as simple as possible so there would be less chance of problems.)

Each wallet does have a single master secret that is used to generate new destinations.  The hash of the master secret is reported by the getwalletinfo command, as the hdmasterkeyid value.  If a destination was generated by your wallet, the command validateaddress will also tell you the hash of the master secret used to generate the destination.

You can copy the wallet data file (the *.ccw file) to another computer, however, you should not continue using it on the old computer.  If you did that, you should not lose any funds, but you might see some anomalous behavior, such as: (a) the wallet attempts to send a transaction, only to discover the funds were already spent; (b) the wallet generates a new destination, only to discover that destination has already been generated and used somewhere else; and (c) the two wallets only see incoming payments sent to destinations that wallet generated, not to destinations generated by the other wallet.  In any event, this has not been thoroughly tested, so use it at your own risk.  The better procedure is to create separate wallets on each computer, and send funds between them when needed.

CredaCash mining update:

Since the start of mining, approximately 3 million units of currency have been rewarded to miners.  There are 197 million units remaining to be rewarded.

The block rate has been around one block every 17 to 18 seconds.  At that rate, the first stage of mining will finish around July 25-28.

Over the past hour, an average of just over 1090 mint transactions have been submitted to the network every minute.  That means if your computer is generating 10.4 mint transactions per minute, then you should be earning on average two mining rewards (2000 units of currency) every hour.

Something is not going right.  Could you try stopping the wallet (using the command "stop"), wait for it to exit, then restart it and inside the wallet, try the command "cc.mint threads 1".  This will launch only a single thread of mining.  Does the wallet then report that mint transactions are being successfully submitted?  If so, try upping the number of threads ("cc.mint threads 2", "cc.mint threads 4", etc) and see if that is what is making it fail at some point...  This could also be caused by load on your machine from running other programs at the same time, or from prolonged memory paging due to lack of RAM or overuse of RAM.  They key thing though is if the wallet reports that transactions are successfully submitted.

Could you also try restarting ccnode (Control-C, wait for it to stop, wait a few more seconds, then run it again).  You can leave the wallet running while you do that, although it might report server errors until ccnode is running again.

It looks like the mint transactions from your wallet are probably getting through to the network since your log file reports that ccnode is receiving new blocks. You could try kicking the number of threads back up to its full value ("cc.mint start"), let it run for two hours, and see if the wallet balance changes.  When running with full threads, how many threads are running, and what is the average elapsed time per thread?

(PS, we will also take a closer look at that HandleValidationTimeout message, and see what might be causing it or if it might be a misleading warning message.)

ok, that's an average of 19 mint transactions per minute from your wallet, while the total network rate is currently about 1150 mint transactions per minute, and the block rate is running about one block per 17 seconds.  Based on those figures, you should get an average of 7 mint rewards (7000 units of currency) every two hours.  That is just an average though--like flipping a coin 100 times, it is possible to get more or less than the expected number of 50 heads or tails...

Our apologies--it turns out this was just a misleading warning.  If the trace level had been set to debug ("--trace=5") or higher, then the log would show that that validation successfully finishes and the result "OK" is sent to the wallet before the "HandleValidationTimeout ignoring late or unexpected callback" message is logged.  In the next release, we will update the code to not log the HandleValidationTimeout message in that situation.

There is not currently a block explorer or a GUI wallet.  We would like to have both in the future.  A block explorer would probably come first, because this is required by some exchanges.  Note however there would not be much information in the CredaCash block explorer.  For each transaction, you would see a list of input serial numbers and hash keys, and a list of output addresses, commitments, encrypted amounts and encrypted asset id's.  All of these numbers appear completely random and don't relate to values in any other transaction (ie., none of those numbers should ever appear more than once in the blockchain).  The only information that might be useful would be the timestamp, size and number of transactions in each block, and the transaction fee/donation paid by each transaction.

To get back to this question, CredaCash does not currently have a block explorer, but it is possible to access information about the blockchain from its database.  This gets into the internals of the CredaCash software, which might be of interest to some.

ccnode.exe stores all of its data in an sqlite database.  This database file is located at %LOCALAPPDATA%\CredaCash\CCNode-1\CCdata.db under Windows, and at $HOME/.CredaCash/CCNode-1/CCdata.db under Linux.

To examine this data under Windows, you can download the file sqlite-tools-win32-x86-<version>.zip from https://www.sqlite.org/download.html , extract the contents and then run "sqlite3 %LOCALAPPDATA%\CredaCash\CCNode-1\CCdata.db".  You can do this while ccnode.exe is running or stopped.  The database is in Write Ahead Log (WAL) format, so querying this data will have essentially no effect on ccnode even if it is running, HOWEVER, DO NOT WRITE TO THIS DATABASE.  In other words, you can use commands like .schema and select, but do not use insert, update, alter and other commands that add or change data.

The tables in this database are:

Parameters = various values by Key and Subkey.  The Key values can be found in the source file ccnode\src\dbparamkeys.h
Blockchain = blocks in raw binary format (explained below)
Serialnums = a list of all spent serial numbers and hash keys
Commit_Tree = the Merkle tree of all transaction output commitments
Commit_Roots = the root value of the Merkle tree after each block that contains outputs
Tx_Outputs = index of all transaction outputs, including address, commitment, asset id (usually encrypted), and amount (usually encrypted)

This table stores only indelible data, which is data guaranteed by the CredaCash blockchain protocol to be immutable.  Temporary/mutable data is stored in memory, not on disk.

The information we've been posting here about the mint is stored under Key=7 of the Parameters table, with Subkey set to the block level, and Value set to the total number of mint transactions submitted to the network and seen by this node at each block level.  Here are the queries:

The blockchain is stored in a raw binary format, which consists of a series of messages in the format:

  size, 4 bytes (total size, including this size field, the tag field and the data)
  tag, 4 bytes (currently used tags are: block 0xCC010001; mint tx 0xCC040001; pay tx 0xCC060001)
  data, variable size binary data

Most fields, including the size and tag, are stored little-endian.

A block consists of a binary header with zero or more binary transactions appended.  The block header is:

  signature, 64 bytes
  prior_block_oid, 16 bytes
  block_level, 4 bytes
  block_timestamp, 4 bytes
  block_witness_id, 1 byte

The transactions are in size/tag/data format.  The easiest way to extract the data in a transaction is to convert it to JSON format using the "tx-from-wire" command in cctx64.dll.  This can be done from python by calling the function DoJsonCmd located in the cclib.py library, specifically: DoJsonCmd('{"tx-from-wire":{<blockhain_parameters>}}', buf=<binarytx>).  Looking at the source code (without actually trying it), the blockchain parameters that have to be included in json format to reconstruct the full transaction are "source-chain", "maximum-input-exponent", "minimum-output-exponent", "maximum-output-exponent" and "merkle-root".  These parameters are all properties of the blockchain.

Yes, we have been working very hard and many long hours to make CredaCash a success.  The current miners will benefit by learning about the software and technology, and they will acquire currency they can use to create fast, final and completely private transactions.

CredaCash is the world's most private cryptocurrency.  We can say that because CredaCash is the only cryptocurrency that keeps all transaction information completely private for all transactions, runs entirely over the Tor network (for privacy and security), and supports advanced privacy features like completely private hierarchical M-of-N multi-secrets, completely private token lock times, completely private escrow transactions, completely private tokenized assets, completely private asset swaps and completely private cross-chain swaps.

Security has many aspects.  An important aspect of security for a cryptocurrency is the security of the underlying cryptography.  CredaCash is as conservative as possible when it comes to cryptography, and uses algorithms and code that are as established and proven as possible.  We are, for example, not trying to invent a new zero knowledge proving system, but are instead using an algorithm that was substantially created in 2013 and has been studied and used extensively since then.  We think this is a more secure approach than inventing new algorithms and implementing them in production code before they have been thoroughly tested and proven by time.  Despite our conservative approach, our privacy, speed and features are better than any other privacy-oriented currency.

Another aspect of security is the code itself.  That requires both careful, conservative coding and exhaustive testing.  We've put CredaCash through many hours of testing, including burn-in testing, fuzz testing, race-condition testing, and testing with memory, stack and fault detection tools.  Every effort was made to test every code path, condition, and combination of inputs.  We've pushed it to extreme limits with thousands of transactions per second with simulated random delays and simulated random errors.  If at any time during development the code showed unexpected or anomalous behavior, we've stopped and fixed it and tested it again, no matter how long it took, because security and reliability are the most important goals.  CredaCash has been four years in development and was not rushed out or released before it was ready.

Ultimately, users care about the security of their information and assets.  This goes beyond mathematics and code to how the software is used, and how it could be misused.  The loss of data or assets has the same severity as theft, and is just as important to guard against.  The CredaCash project has given these a great deal of thought and the software has a number of features to help users keep their assets secure.  Some of these features have been implemented inside CredaCash's zero knowledge proof but are not yet implemented by the wallet:

- The interactive wallet displays informational and caution messages to guard against misuse.

- The wallet is based on a password-protected master secret that can be stored in a safe place and possibly used to recover funds if the wallet file is lost.

- A user will be able setup a wallet with receive-only secrets that cannot spend the funds received.  The secrets required to spend the funds can be stored offline or in a better protected wallet.

- A user will be able to set a spend delay on all or some tokens, and monitor token spend attempts using a lower privileged monitor secret.  If an unauthorized spend attempt is detected, the user can immediately freeze the tokens using the lower privileged secret, and later recover them using the higher privileged master secret that might be stored offline.

- A user will be able to create tokens with a second set of M-of-N multi-secrets, that could be split up and stored offline, or split between multiple heirs or administrators to recover funds if the owner is incapacitated or otherwise unable to act.  These secrets would be lower privileged and could have a spend delay, and if the owner detects an authorized attempt to use them, the owner could override this attempt using the main spend secrets.

We have some additional ideas about how users might be able to protect their assets from loss, theft, kidnapping or extortion, and this is an area we will continue to focus on.

A security audit is one aspect of security and this may happen in time.  This is far from a panacea however, as prominent projects have been found to have critical and sometimes catastrophic flaws even though they allegedly had security audits, code reviews, cryptography reviews, etc.  Fundamentally careful, sound and conservative engineering are much more important, with a continuous and uncompromising focus on security, and that is what we have done with CredaCash.

Hi, is there any roadmap of the project?
What will happen after the mining will finish? What will be the next steps?

Following the initial mining, we are going to continue development toward a fully decentralized currency.  The most important item required is a Proof-of-Stake protocol that can work with CredaCash without compromising privacy. We have developed a protocol and a simulation, but there are still a lot of details to be worked out, and code to be written and thoroughly tested.  There is also a lot of ancillary software we would like to see, like a GUI wallet and adding wallet support for all of the features in the zero knowledge proof.  We're going to take on as much of that as we can.  We are going to need to find a source of funds to support this, and we're looking at a number of options (if you have any thoughts on that, please DM us or contact us through our website).  And of course we are always open to suggestions, so please feel free to post them here, or DM us or contact us through our website.  Thank you.

That is factually incorrect.  80% will go to a non-profit Foundation.  As we have stated earlier on this thread, our primary goal is to create a completely private and highly scalable currency that can be used worldwide in real transactions, which no cryptocurrency has yet accomplished, and if that means doing something new, we are willing to do that.

Copying a wallet data file (the *.ccw file) from one computer to another and using it on both is not recommended.  The better practice is to generate a new wallet for each computer, and to send funds between them as necessary.

A CredaCash wallet generates a new address for each transaction in order to ensure privacy.  If you are using the same wallet file on two computers simultaneously, each wallet may only report transactions and balances for addresses that it generates.

In CredaCash nomenclature, we use the terms destination and address.  An address is what shows up on the blockchain, just like bitcoin, and it is different for every transaction.  When you send a payment, you tell your wallet to send it to a particular destination, and your wallet knows how to generate a new unique address that belongs to that destination.

This all "just works", and you don't have to pay attention to the difference between destinations and addresses as long as you don't try to copy a wallet file to another computer and use it on both at the same time.  If however you do copy a wallet file and use it on two computers at the same time, then the distinction becomes important since a wallet may only report transactions and balances for addresses that it generates.

You may be able get the two wallets to display the same balance as follows: Run the command "listtransactions".  Every transaction you see on both computers should display the same "address".  (This is actually a CredaCash destination, and for bitcoin-compatibility, it is reported as an address in the output of listtransactions.)  On both computers, run the command "cc.poll_destination <destination/address>", where <destination/address> is the value reported by listtransactions.  After some period of time, the wallet balances may catch up with each other.  You may have to continue using cc.poll_destination to keep the balances in sync as your wallets continue to recieve more mining rewards.

Another option (and the one we would recommend), would be to wait until mining is over, set up a third wallet, and consolidate funds by sending the contents of the first two wallets to the third wallet.

Save it immediately after building my wallet? I found that the size of the wallet file has been changing. Do I need to wait for the mine to finish before I save it?

The *.ccw file is an sqlite database that will change continuously when ccwallet is running.  It most importantly contains all of the coins sent to or created by that wallet, along with the secrets needed to spend them.  It also contains every transaction and address generated by the wallet, and information on the state of synchronization of the wallet with the blockchain (which is why the file changes continuously when ccwallet is running).

The wallet file is already saved on your computer.  It is a good idea to back it up occasionally.  It is recommended that the ccwallet program be shutdown before copying or backing up the wallet file.  Please be aware that anyone who obtains the wallet file can use it to take the unspent funds controlled by that wallet, so both the original wallet file and all backups should be kept secure.  If the wallet file is lost, it may be possible to recover its contents using the wallet master secret and password, but until this is better tested, it should not be relied on as the sole method of keeping the file secure.

When ccwallet is stopped, you can examine the contents of this file using the sqlite3 command line tool from sqlite.org.  It is recommended that you back up the file first.  This tool should only be used read the file (using the commands .schema, select, etc.) but not write to the file (do not use insert, update, alter, etc.).

Yes, both ccnode and ccwallet accept the command line option "--datadir=X:\some\directory" to control where the program looks for and stores its data files.  So you can stop ccnode (Ctrl-C), wait for it to stop completely, optionally move all of its data currently stored on the C drive over to the D drive, then restart ccnode with the --datadir option.  If you move the current data over to the D drive first, then ccnode will not have to resync from the beginning of the blockchain.

Note you can also save command line options in a configuration file that you reference when the program is started.  For example, you can edit the file ccnode.conf to add the line:

datadir=X:\some\directory

and then start ccnode using the command line "ccnode --config=ccnode.conf"

after mining period is over what then?

When the initial mining is complete, the project plans to continue implementation of a completely decentralized Proof-of-Stake protocol, and at some point in the future, the Foundation plans to hold a currency auction.

In the meantime, the miners will be able to use the currency they mined to create fast, final and completely private transactions, and hopefully a few exchanges will list the CredaCash currency so others can acquire and use the currency as well.

Is the ccnode window displaying new block announcements every 15-20 seconds?  What is the age of these blocks when they arrive? (The block age is the number on the far right column of the new block announcement--note that number will only be accurate if the clock on the computer is set accurately, so please check the computer clock with https://time.gov/ or a similar resource).  Is the ccwallet window reporting that mint transactions are being submitted?  How many threads are reporting mint transactions, and how long does it take to create each mint transaction?

yes, block announcement is every 15sec or so. Age of blocks is 0d 30. yes wallet says mint trans being submitted. 8 threads. between 15-23 secs to create mint trans.

That all looks very solid.  Your computer is generating 25 mint transactions per minute and they should all be getting sent to the network.  The total network rate is currently 3480 mint transactions per minute, and the current block interval is 18 seconds, so your computer should be getting on average 2 mining rewards (2000 units of currency) every 84 minutes or so.  That is just an average though--like flipping a coin, it is possible to get only heads or only tails 20 times in a row.  You might let it run for another two hours and see how it does (that would hopefully yield 2-3 mining rewards, but it could be higher or lower).

Our apologies for the problem. The wallet generates a new address for each mint transaction using a counter that can only go up to 1 million.  We did not anticipate anyone hitting that limit, but there it is.

The easiest way to solve this problem is to start mining out of a second wallet.  Then when the initial mining is complete, if you want to consolidate wallet balances you can send the contents of one to the other, or send both to a third wallet.

To start mining from a new wallet, stop the wallet using Ctrl-C then Enter (or by typing stop and pressing Enter).  Then restart the wallet using the command:

   ccwallet --create-wallet --wallet-file=wallet2 --interactive

Then start mining again with:

   cc.mint start

what is average mint transactions count lately

The network rate is continuing to run at about 2400 mint transactions per minute.  It began dropping from its high of around 3600 mint transactions per minute around the same time users began reporting the error message caused by reaching the 1 million mint transaction limit.  This problem is easily worked around by setting up and mining from a second wallet, but it appears not all users have done so.

Sorry, it would not be possible to do that at this time--it's not just the wallet, it is also the network, we we're not going to change anything in the network while mining is going on.  This will be enabled around Aug 1, and will require the final production software release which has not yet been posted.

For each block, multiple mint transactions are submitted by multiple users, but only the "best" mint transaction is added to the next block. At the end of the initial mining, there will only be 200000 coins mined (each with a value of 1000), no matter how many mint transactions are submitted.

The blockchain is currently at block 155289, and the initial mint will go until block 200012 (the first 12 blocks did not contain mint tx's), so there are 44723 blocks left.

It is not clear what the words "identical wallet addresses" or "ineffective" mean, nonetheless, if you have five wallets, they will each generate up to 1 million mint transactions. Even if those five wallets were created by copying a single wallet, those 5 million mint transactions will all be unique, so we have no reason to believe this would be any less effective for the purpose of mining, although it has not been well tested and is not recommended.  See:

today we finish minting coins. I am looking forward to the start of this blockchain. This incredible project is completely different from the others. Hi any updates ?

The initial mining ran from June 15 until July 26 and was very successful.  The network performed perfectly during that time, handling an average of 44 mint transactions per second and a peak of 152 mint transactions per second.  A total of 200 million units of currency were rewarded to miners in 200 thousand outputs.  This initializes the blockchain to begin processing completely private transactions.

The next version of the software that supports send-type transactions is planned for the first week of August (it is currently undergoing final burn-in testing).  A announcement will be made here when it is available for download.

The next release of CredaCash has been thoroughly tested on a testnet and is looking good.  We decided we want to do additional testing against a forked version of the mainnet to ensure everything will work well in the field after it is released.  Realistically, in order to ensure the release is not rushed, that means pushing the release back to next week.  While we would of course prefer to have the release available sooner rather than later, having a high-quality, thoroughly tested release is paramount and overrides all other considerations.

Is there a send limit amount?

The wallet is limited only by its balance. A single billet (coin) can hold a maximum of roughly 6.8 million units of currency, and if necessary, the wallet will send multiple transactions in order to fulfill the send command.  To preserve privacy as much as possible, the wallet also attempts to make all transactions have 2 output billets (one to the destination and one change) and either 2, 3 or 4 input billets.  The wallet will randomly add an extra input or two, even when not necessary, in order to hide the sizes of the input billets from the transaction recipient.  Before sending the final transaction(s) to the recipient, the wallet will also send one or more transactions back to itself to merge multiple billets into a larger denomination, or split one into smaller denominations, as required to make the final transactions to the recipient have only 2 outputs and 2, 3 or 4 inputs.  The wallet does this all automatically, in response to the sendtoaddress command.  This is also all completely multi-threaded, so the wallet can handle multiple (hundreds or thousands) of sendtoaddress requests simultaneously.

If I understand correctly, you are looking for a GUI wallet, and by "imported private keys", you mean that you would like to use the GUI wallet with the funds that are stored in the current command line wallet?  Is there anything additional you mean by "imported private keys"?

The wallet looks for the zero knowledge proof verification keys in the subdirectory "zkkeys". This is the file layout you should get when you extract the contents of the distribution zip file.  Did you extract the contents of this zip file before attempting to run the wallet, or maybe you simply navigated into the zip file without first extracting its contents?  The latter will not work.

It could be that tor is still bootstrapping--that can take a while, like 2-5 minutes.  You could check earlier in the log though to see if it reports "Tor started", "Unable to start Tor", "Tor process exited unexpectedly" or any other messages regarding tor.

WHY???

The most common cause of this message is that the wallet is expecting to receive change from a prior transaction, and needs that change in order to send the requested funds, but after some period of time the change has not arrived as expected so it gives up and returns that error.  This can also happen if the wallet submits one or more preliminary billet merge transactions (which it likely would do in order to send 15000 units) and the preliminary transactions does not immediately go through.  The amount of time that the wallet waits before reporting "Insufficient funds" is determined by the wallet command line or configuration file option "tx-new-billet-wait-sec" which by default is 90 seconds.

What do you get from getbalance?

Normal response. all the coins are there.. but more than 10.000 does not want to send...

Apologies--see my edits/additions in my prior reply. The wallet balance includes expected change or other funds the wallet sent to itself, but these might not be immediately spendable.  The "insufficient funds" message just means insufficient funds at the moment.  You could retry the transaction after a short wait.  If you want to do a little diagnosis before that, the commands listtransactions and listsinceblock can be used to show the transactions that have not yet cleared (zero confirmations).  As a last resort, you could stop the wallet and restart it with the --reset-wallet option and then run the listunspent command--that is really a last resort though--it is better to wait for the uncleared transactions to clear.  You might be able to force the wallet to detect a cleared transaction by polling the destination to which the billet was sent using the command cc.poll_destination <destination> where destination is the billet "address" reported by listtransactions or listsinceblock.

Any chance this problem has resolved itself?  What are log messages are you seeing now?

Definitely some issues with the sending process.  Tried sending 100,000 out of a balance of 212,000 and it says insufficient funds after cutting it up into 25 transactions. Right now seems like sending multiple small chunks manually is working far better than large lump sums.

The following explanation is based on the intended wallet design, not on actually testing, so the details might be slightly wrong.  Assuming the wallet holds a sufficient number of minted billets that all have a value of 1000 units, then to send 8000 units, the wallet will first construct two transactions that have four inputs of 1000 units each, and two outputs, one roughly 3999.9 units (slightly less than 4000 to account for the transaction fee), and one output of zero value (which is a dummy output that makes the transactions publicly appear as a standard 4-in-2-out).  After these two transactions clear and the wallet detects them as cleared (which might take 30-60 seconds), the wallet will construct a final transactions with 2 inputs of 3999.9 and one input of 1000, with one output of 8000 units to the intended recipient and one output sending the balance (the change) back it itself.  If it takes more than 90 seconds for one of the two intermediate transactions to be detected as cleared, the wallet will abort the send command and return "Insufficient funds".  In that case, nothing was sent to the intended recipient, but one of more of the intermediate transactions that sent consolidated funds back to the wallet may still be pending.  The amount of time the wallet waits is determined by the command line / configuration file option tx-new-billet-wait-sec, which by default is 90 seconds but we will likely increase that to 120 seconds in a future release based on this feedback.  When the wallet returns "Insufficient funds", you can wait a short amount of time and then retry the transaction.  The commands listtransactions and listsinceblock can be used to show which prior transactions have still not cleared (zero confirmations).  Once the transactions have cleared (1 or more confirmations), then the amounts the wallet expects to receive in those transactions can be spent.

Noted, thank you.  You could try stopping the wallet and then restarting with the command line or configuration file option "--tx-new-billet-wait-sec=180".  This will cause the wallet to wait 3 minutes for an expected incoming billet to clear before reporting "Insufficient funds".

Seems like no additional billets are being generated / cleared. I should clarify I was trying to consolidate my balances across numerous wallets, however, no amount of waiting appears to remedy the issue. It's been at least 10 min since I attempted sending coins and now even attempting to send 500 coins results in the below message.

Our apologies for the difficulties.  Does the command "ping" work?  Is the console output of ccnode.exe still reporting new blocks (the latest block as of this post is level 203683).  If you do a listsinceblock command, how many transactions do you see with zero confirmations and what is the total value of their output billets? (Note that unconfirmed transactions should be listed last, but it may take a while for this command to complete because it filters out and does not report unconfirmed mint transactions that did not earn a mining reward.)  How does this compare with the balance reported by getbalance?  If you use the command cc.poll_destination <destination/address> to poll the address of one of the unconfirmed transactions, does the transaction then show as cleared after a short time?  Does the command listunspent show any unspent billets, and what is their total value compared to the amount you are trying to send?

P.S., did you at some point copy the wallet .ccw file to another computer and then start using it at two computers at the same time?  If so, then the balances of the two wallets might overlap, and when you send funds from one wallet, it could have made those same funds unspendable in the other wallet.

So ping is working fine, block is showing 204721

Listsinceblock doesnt seem to be working for me, however, I ran cc.poll on both wallets, but only 1 would finish the other would hang.  So far I still see a bunch of unconfirmed transactions according to listtransactions.

Running listunspent I see the following:

wallet 1

Getbalance = 1042.2348

wallet2
Sum unspent = 210994.93
Getbalance = 210994.93

Attempting to send from wallet 1 continues to fail even when sending 100, however, wallet 2 I was just able to send 50,000.

As far as the wallets are concerned these each should have been unique to each PC mining separately and then I've since consolidated all the wallet files to a single PC. I've been trying to consolidate the balances as I had quite a few different machines/wallets.

I think there may have been a ccnode issue hindering wallet 2, but something funky happened with wallet 1. listsinceblock will work, you just have to give it more time.  The wallet may contain up to a million mint transactions, and listsinceblock is paging through all of them.  The advantage of listsinceblock is that it will filter out and not display uncleared mint transactions.

listtransactions might be easier to use.  By default it only gives 10 transactions, and if none of those are cleared, you should ask it to see more until you get all the uncleared transactions.  To see more transactions, use listtransactions "" <n> where n is the number of transactions you want to see.  listtransactions will show uncleared mint transactions with the category "immature".  Any uncleared mint transactions will not clear at this point, so these can be ignored.

Are any of the uncleared transactions in category receive?  If so, the address of the receive billet is the one you want to use in cc.poll_destination.

As a last resort, you can try to stop wallet 1, restart it with the --reset-wallet command line option, then run the listunspent command to see if that changes the wallet balance.


The question was if you at some point copied the wallet file.  It is the copying of the wallet file and using it on two machines that can cause the funds to overlap (among other problems).


I would go ahead and try stopping wallet 1, restarting it with the --reset-wallet command line option, then running the listunspent command to see if that changes the wallet balance.

The original replica wallet used an address, exceeding the balance of 6.8 million. Has the extra disappeared?

6.8 million is the maximum size of a single billet (coin). (Note that the current implementation could support single billets with a size up to 687 trillion, but the blockchain and zero knowledge proof currently enforce the smaller 6.8 million maximum as a precaution.)

The wallet can hold an unlimited number of billets, each one with a value up to 6.8 million. If funds in the wallet came from mining, then the wallet would contain multiple billets with a value of 1000 each (the amount of the mining reward).

So looks like resetting the wallet is working, but for larger wallets I have to reset it 2-3 times to extract the full balance. The listunspent amount typically doesn't reflect the full getbalance after a single reset. Not sure if its because of the amount of transactions or not waiting long enough, but at least its working.

To answer your earlier question I copied the .ccw files from multiple other PC's and I am loading them 1 at a time on this local machine. There is only 1 active wallet at present, but the .ccw files were copied (after other wallets were shutdown).

The most likely cause of this is pay-to-self billets (from merge transactions or transaction change) that have not yet been detected as cleared.  These should show with zero confirmations in listtransactions, and polling their receive addresses using cc.poll_destination should make them clear faster.

This should also resolve itself if the wallet is left running and connected to ccnode long enough.  And while the wallet is designed to hold many transactions, it will probably run a little faster and more efficiently if the balance is sent to a fresh wallet that doesn't contain all of the mint activity.

There is not currently a command in the wallet that will print it out. However, it can be retrieved as follows:

Assuming you are running under Windows (if not, these directions can also be adapted for Linux):

1. Go to https://www.sqlite.org/download.html

3. Extract sqlite3.exe
4. Run the commands:

The initial mining ended July 26. It will not be mineable again until the Proof-of-Stake protocol is implemented in the future.  In the interim, if you would like to use the CredaCash currency, we hope it will be possible to purchase it on an exchange in the near future.

When Proof-of-Stake mining?

Currently, does it take some hours to transfer sending from one wallet to another?
I used the command,

sendtoaddress CredaCash_b................... 10000

numbers of time to empty one wallet for consolidate to another wallet, but now after a day still not seeing input of transactions amount in the other wallet.
So is this an issue or I did something wrong here, please help!  ???

Try using the poll.cc command on the sending wallet and wait a bit.   Also, use the --reset-wallet command line option on the sending wallet.  Try resending with 5k or 10k, then work up to 100k.  That worked for  me.

It should take about 30 seconds after a transaction is submitted to the network for it to be spendable by the receiving wallet.

The best way to determine the status of a transaction is to use the "gettransaction <txid>" command, using the txid returned by the sendtoaddress command.  If you don't have the txid, here's what you can do:

At the Sending Wallet
---------------------

First, determine if the transaction was actually sent by the sending wallet.  In order to preserve privacy, all transactions have 2 outputs and 2, 3, or 4 inputs.  If the wallet is sending 10000 and it only holds multiple billets of size 1000, it will first construct three transactions, two of which will merge four input billets into one output billet of amount 3999.9 sent back to itself, and one transaction that will merge 3 or 4 inputs billets into an output billet of amount 2999.9 or 3999.9 sent back to itself.  After those transactions are submitted and clear, the wallet will then construct and submit a transaction that contains 3 or 4 inputs billets which include the billets created by the prior merge transactions, along with one output billet sent to the final destination in the amount 10000, and one change billet sent back to itself.

After submitting this final transaction, the sending wallet will return a txid for the transaction, and the getbalance command should show that the wallet deducted the amount from its balance.  If the process returns an error, then the final transaction was not submitted to the network and getbalance should report that the amount is still in the wallet.  If the process is interrupted at any point, then the final transaction may or may not have been submitted to the network.

To determine if the transaction was submitted to the network, you can use the getbalance command and/or the listsinceblock or listtransactions commands.  For the latter two commands, you would be looking for a transaction that shows the amount and address used in the sendtoaddress command.  listsinceblock may take a long time to run since by default it lists all transactions the wallet has ever sent or recieved.  listtransactions only reports the last 10 transactions by default, so if the transaction of interest is not one of the last ten, you may need to use the command:
listtransactions "" <n>
where <n> is the number of transactions you would like to see.

Within about 30 seconds after the final transaction is submitted to the network, it should get confirmed by the blockchain, and about 30 to 60 seconds after the confirming blocks are received by the connected ccnode, the listsinceblock and listtransactions commands should report that the transaction has at least one confirmation.

For faster updates, you can also use the command "gettransaction <txid>" to monitor the transaction status.  This command will explicitly query the txid rather than waiting for it to be updated in the background.

At the Receiving Wallet
----------------------

There are three options at the receiving wallet:

1. If the receiving wallet is left running and is connected to a fully-synced ccnode that is receiving new blocks, then after some period of time, the transaction should be detected and automatically added to the receiving wallet.

2. The best command to speed up this process is "gettransaction <txid>" using the txid returned by the sending wallet.  That command will explicitly query whether the transaction has been confirmed by the blockchain.

3. If the txid is not available, then the command "cc.poll_destination <destination/address>" can be used to immediately check for payments at the address that was given to the sender.

From what you have posted above, it appears that the transaction was successfully sent, but it was not sent to the second wallet, in other words, the address to which you sent the transaction does not belong to the second wallet, it belongs to some other wallet.  If you would like to troubleshoot this further, please feel free to contact us via PM or via our website if you need to provide transaction details that you would prefer not to post here.  Thank you.

how to get private key of address?

The validateaddress command will give you some information about a CredaCash destination.  If the destination belongs to your wallet, then valudateaddress will give you the "hdmasterkeyid", which is the hash of the master secret used to create the destination.  The information needed to spend billets sent to that destination is contained in your wallet's CCWallet.ccw file and could be extracted using the sqlite3 tool.  What would you do with that information once you had it?

Thought about to back up private keys of storage addresses, good old practice of mine (and hopefully lot of others)
Easier to store 10 private keys than holding 10x 100 MB wallets.
Hope that will be an option once GUI wallet is available. 

When you create a wallet, it prints out the wallet's master secret and gives instructions on how you can store that as a last resort backup.  That is intended to serve the same purpose.  (There is currently no a way to print out the master secret of an existing wallet, but we may add that in the future.)  Even with the master secret, it is still a good idea to back up the wallet file itself occasionally, since reconstructing a wallet from the master secret and password might not be 100% successful.  When backing up the wallet file, we recommend putting it into an encrypted archive file first in order to keep it secure.

What kind of work is going on behind the scenes now?? What is approximately the road map for the month of September?

Short term, the major items on our agenda are to set up a testnet, update the Quick Start Guide and other documentation, see if we can assist any exchanges in listing the CredaCash currency.  Our long term roadmap is to continue to develop the technology, which includes more features in the wallet and blockchain (in particular, implementing our Proof-of-Stake protocol and full support for all the capabilities in our zero knowledge proof implementation), support for more platforms such as smartphones, and making everything easier to use and integrate.  Part of that is also looking a how we are going to fund the project, while maintaining compliance with applicable laws both in the USA where we are located, and in any other location that might be relevant.

Before we push for wider deployment, we decided to make an important change to the wallet.

One of the fundamental jobs of the wallet is to work cooperatively with the user to ensure that a payment is reliably sent once and not more than once (i.e., no unintended double payments).

When the send command is submitted, the user can experience three possible outcomes:

1. The wallet responds that the payment was submitted to the network and provides a TXID to track the payment.
2. The wallet responds with an error, indicating the payment was not submitted to the network.
3. The user receives no response, which can occur when the connection between the user and wallet is interrupted.

Condition #3, the no response condition, is the most complicated to handle correctly.  The wallet may or may not have received the send command and submitted the payment to the network.  There is no way to tell from the response.  In that case, the user could query the wallet to scan for a transaction that looks similar to the one that was submitted (same address, amount and in the right block or time range). However, before making this query, the wallet would have to wait a sufficient time to allow both the network and wallet to timeout, which ensures the prior send command is not still pending or in progress.  This is the method we originally envisioned to handle this situation, but it is both complex and has reliability pitfalls.

In order to address this case better, we are implementing a new send command, cc.send, which will require three parameters: a destination, an amount, and a unique reference id. This command has slightly different semantics than sendtoaddress.  Unlike sendtoaddress, the user can submit the command "cc.send referenceid destination amount" multiple times, but the wallet will never send the payment more than once.  This allows much easier and more reliable handling of the no response condition.  If no response is received from cc.send, the user can simply submit the identical command again, as many times as required, and will eventually receive a response that contains either an error or a TXID to track the payment.  The payment however will never be sent more than once, which cannot be guaranteed by the bitcoin-compatible sendtoaddress command.  And as an added benefit, no queries will be required to scan for and obtain the TXID.

That is one of the changes we are working on, along with a number of other usability changes, including adjusting the timeout that caused many users to see "Insufficient Funds" when sending payments in the current release.  Once all of this is implemented and thoroughly tested (which might take a few weeks), we plan on releasing an updated version of the software along with a testnet, and then we will proceed with attempting to assist exchanges in listing the CredaCash currency.

Why is your coin most private? What protocol are you using? If you have some announce, than you must post comparion with other anonymous coins like Dash, Monero, Zcash etc and compare every aspects.

CredaCash uses zero knowledge proofs (zk-snarks, similar to Zcash) to keep the source of funds, destination of funds, and amounts completely private.  Some other currencies are far from “100% private” because they don’t keep the transaction amounts private, they mix transactions using a very small mix set which leads to transaction tracing vulnerabilities (Monero), or they combine public and private payments which can compromise privacy even when using a private address (Zcash). All CredaCash transactions are completely private, ensuring the highest level of confidentiality.

CredaCash also runs entirely over the Tor network (for privacy and security), and supports advanced privacy features like completely private hierarchical M-of-N multi-secrets, completely private token lock times, completely private escrow transactions, completely private tokenized assets, completely private asset swaps and completely private cross-chain swaps.

These features are why CredaCash is the most private currency in the world.  It might be possible for someone to make a currency that is just as private as CredaCash (although we don't know of one), but we are not aware of any way to make a currency more private.  If we do find a way to make it more private, we will make every effort to implement this in CredaCash to ensure it maintains its distinction as the most private currency in the world.

We're continuing to work on a software update.  The goal for this update is to add a few features that ensure the wallet is as easy and reliable to use as possible.  These changes include:

1. We are adding the command "cc.send reference_id destination amount" (as mentioned earlier) which will make it easy to ensure that a payment is sent only once, even if the network connection is lost or unreliable.

2. We are adding an asynchronous version of cc.send that will return immediately while working to send the transaction on a background thread.

3. We are adding automatic detection of conflicting transactions and the corresponding adjustment of the wallet balance.

4. We are adding a command to cancel/abandon a transaction.  The cancel/abandon command will create a new transaction that sends the inputs of the prior transaction back to the wallet.  After this new transaction clears, the prior transaction will be invalid, effectively cancelling it.

5. Possibly, we will make the wallet suspend creating transactions when it detects that the connection to the network has been lost (when the blockchain is no longer receiving updates).

6. We are changing the transaction timeouts that caused many users to temporarily see "Insufficient Funds" messages when sending large payments.  The wallet will now send payments of any size without timeouts, as long as it can connect to the network.

7. We are adding three new diagnostic commands, cc.dump_transactions, cc.dump_billets and cc.dump_tx_build.

8. Several other minor usability fixes.

This software update will be released as a beta in the near future.

It has been almost 3 years since we last reached out to you.  As we reported back then, an outside investor had filed a petition in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in an effort to take over our software development company, Creda Software, Inc.  We’re pleased to report that case ended favorably for us and the project.  While the result was favorable, it was a long, exhausting, and arduous process.  We’re writing today to let everyone know what happened and report on what comes next for the project.

In 2015, CredaCash was the first project in the world to demonstrate practical, fully-private blockchain transactions, over two years ahead of any other project.  The key innovation was a method to create a zero knowledge proof in just a few seconds, when other techniques at that time required several minutes or more.

In 2019, the CredaCash project released the CredaCash cryptocurrency, based on an innovative blockchain that is fast, final, scalable, and completely private.  This release included ground breaking privacy features such as completely private tokenized assets, completely private multi-signature transactions, completely private escrow transactions, and completely private cross-chain swaps, making it the most private blockchain and cryptocurrency in the world.

During development, the company set up to create this cryptocurrency, Creda Software Inc., took in one outside investor who put in $100K in exchange for 1% of the future cryptocurrency. This was done in the form of a convertible note, and it was agreed that if and when the cryptocurrency was created, the investor would convert the note and take delivery of the cryptocurrency.

There can be no question the project delivered.  Soon after the CredaCash cryptocurrency was minted, the investor wrote to one of his business associates that the CredaCash cyptocurrency had “what I think is a golden combination of features for a next generation/final generation cryptocurrency.”

However, rather than accept the agreed upon 1% of the cryptocurrency, the investor demanded 20% and threatened that if we did not give in, he would bankrupt the company and take everything.  While we were willing to be reasonable, we were not willing to give in to extortion.

The investor did in fact file an involuntary bankruptcy petition in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in April of 2020, and the court appointed a trustee to investigate.  On the advice a counsel, the project halted all work while the trustee investigated.

The project cooperated completely with the trustee’s investigation, and believed the case should and could have been resolved quickly and easily since the only asset held by the company was the cryptocurrency designated for the investor, while the rest had been distributed to the founders, miners and Foundation, as agreed to by everyone, including the investor.

In March 2021, after we provided the trustee with complete documentation, the trustee proposed a release of claims in exchange for a reasonable amount of money, and we agreed.  This settlement fell apart however when the trustee attempted to limit the scope of the release, which we were not willing to do because it may not have resolved everything.
 
The trustee then essentially went into stall mode, stating that he needed to continue investigating, while doing nothing.  Eventually, we asked the bankruptcy court for a declaratory judgment.  After almost a year of litigating the declaratory action, including motions, discovery, and deposition, the trustee agreed to a complete walk away.  The trustee could have gotten that plus a cash payment if had he not backed out of the earlier settlement.

The net result is that the investor spent tens of thousands of dollars on legal fees and got nothing.  The trustee got the 1% of the cryptocurrency the investor could have gotten if he had not filed the bankruptcy petition.  Everything else was retained by the founders and the Foundation.

In all, this was a colossal waste of time, and shows what can happen when greedy investors and their lawyers hear the word “crypto” and think they can take advantage of naive developers.  The moral of the story though is that we will not give up, back down, or be extorted, by anyone, ever.

The project is now completely free and clear of this, and we’ve been busy working on our next release.  We’re very excited about it, and will be posting details on Wednesday, March 1, so please stay tuned!

Does it is a testnet or coins are valid for mainnet use as i first time see your project and I'm confused. I want to start mine it but need to know does it is a test net or mainnet ??

It seems to be the test and simulation stage of all functions. The main network you mentioned should wait for the opening of the exchange. They currently do not have a mature graphical wallet tool, and beginners need to study and explore. I don't know when the exchange function will be available

The main network functions separately. Coins from the test network cannot be exchanged into the main one. Currently, in the test network, you can learn all the mechanics and be ready for new features in the main network.
I think we will soon see details about the new way of mining coins for those who are interested in mining.

Any eta when mainnet comes to life ???

Mainnet went live in 2019. There's currently no mining on mainnet, but we are working on a new release that will include an integrated peer-to-peer exchange, as well as currency mining using the exchange. That release is currently in beta and running only on testnet. We should be putting together a release schedule for mainnet shortly, after we see how testing goes on the testnet. But what if the following case happens:
The seller (of credacash) uses modified software that always behaves as if no bitcoin payment has been made. He receives Btc, waits until payment time expires so that his payment reverts and has now both credacash and bitcoin.

IIUC this exchange is not atomic, but would be similar to Bisq.
Bisq requires a security deposit (locked into multisig bitcoin tx) from both buyer and seller, and must use human arbitrators for dispute resolution. Can credacash solve this more elegantly, and how?

The seller's payment is locked up in a contingent transaction.  What the seller does after that point doesn't matter.  The outcome of the seller's contingent transaction depends only on whether the buyer submits a valid claim for the seller's payment prior to the expiration of the payment time.  If the buyer submits a valid claim, then the contingent payment becomes spendable by the buyer; if not, it reverts to the seller.  This is a consensus rule enforced by every full node validating the blockchain.  This could fail if no witness is willing to add the buyer's claim to the blockchain.  The witnesses however are incentivized to add the buyer's claim to the blockchain both by the transaction fee they would potentially receive, as well as a general interest in ensuring the blockchain operates reliably and predictably.  Thank you for the question, and please let us know if there are any additional questions we might be able to address.

When will a new version be released

The CredaCash project is pleased to announce the second beta of its upcoming release.  This release will make CredaCash the first completely private cryptocurrency with an integrated peer-to-peer cross-chain exchange.

The most significant addition is the long term mining of CredaCash currency through the use of the cross-chain exchange.  To support this mining, the following features have been added:

1. The first beta supported peer-to-peer trading of CredaCash for Bitcoin (BTC).  The second beta adds support for Bitcoin Cash (BCH).  Bitcoin Cash was chosen because it is widely available and operates almost identically to Bitcoin, but has significately lower transaction fees.  Support for Bitcoin Cash will therefore allow crosschain trading with much lower costs.

2. The first beta only supported "naked" CredaCash buy requests.  Naked buy requests allow users who do not have CredaCash to obtain an intial holding.  Naked buy requests are not binding however, and the buyer can abandon a trade at any time without penalty.  The second beta adds support for a new type of buy request called a "simple" buy request.  When submitting a simple buy request, the buyer makes a contingent payment of CredaCash as a pledge or promise to settle any matches.  If the buyer completes the trade, the pledge amount reverts to the buyer, but if there is a match and the buyer does not make payment, the pledge amount transfers to the seller.  This pledge ensures more genuine trading requests and therefore more favorable exchange rates.

3. The second beta also adds long term mining of CredaCash currency through the use of the exchange.  With the upcoming release, CredaCash buyers can compete to mine additional CredaCash, with the highest-priced trades mining as much as an additional 50% of the amount of CredaCash acquired in trade.  This mining will encourage a continual flow of cryptocurrency between users of the exchange, and help reward users who build the CredaCash community.  Currently, in the second beta, every completed trade of CredaCash for Bitcoin Cash using a simple buy request mines an additional 50% of the CredaCash acquired.  In the final release, the price threshold and percentage mined will be dynamically adjusted through predetermined consensus rules to meet the long term mining schedule.

This last beta includes the final version of CredaCash currency mining based on the use of the exchange. The purpose of the mining is to ensure the currency goes to users who support the project and help grow the community.

Two billion units of CredaCash currency (25% of the currency allocated to the Foundation) has been reallocated to mining. The mining is geometric, with half (one billion units) scheduled to be mined in the first 3 years, another quarter (500 million units) in the next 3 years, another eighth (250 million units) in the following 3 years, etc.
