Title: [HZ] Horizon - Decentralized Asset Exchange
Post by: Sandeman on March 09, 2017, 10:45:56 PM
HORIZON

Originally known as ‘Next Horizon’ or ‘NHZ’, Horizon was the first first clone of NXT, a new generation digital currency platform which offers some major advantages over bitcoin technology.

Unlike most digital currencies where a few early adopters can effectively control the market, Horizon was created with a distribution system that is based on merit. This includes daily payments to people that help with node distribution and also substantially payments to those that help Horizon grow – whether that’s by helping our tech team or simply spreading the word.

Over months of hard work, ruthless competition, and challenges, Next Horizon (NHZ) was rebranded to Horizon (HZ), with new artwork, website, forums, logos, wallet, all reworked from the ground up as new talent joined that could make it stronger and better, with a professional level of quality and artwork. Many unique assets have also started up under Horizon using the decentralized asset exchange, and many more are on the way, which is totally unique for such a low marketcap platform.

HZ has a team of developers who stand behind their work and don't hide their identity. They have collateral on the line (their reputations). They have great branding and a fine marketing team as well. It has an Asset Exchange and will soon have a reputation system to accompany it.
The devs have plans of building a smart-contract system and anonymity features. It has an official partnership with Blocknet (the internet of blockchains, merging multiple "coins" and their associated tech) and Bitnation (governance 2.0) Both of these have huge potential for real world use/adoption and advancing the crypto-sphere and eventually bring about society 2.0
HZ has better qualities than NXT (anon devs, no new releases/partnerships, bad distribution, etc...) and has a much lower price and marketcap.

Did the previous thread disappear?

No it was locked, OP deleted ... if the HZ platform is going well great, but very odd to abandon this forum.

I started thread here   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1817860.msg18108446#msg18108446    to discuss what happened to HZ, maybe the current dev team can provide an update.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=823785.0

I found HZ to be a really good project, and as OP stated, distro was 100% improvement over NXT, and user base was large, including refugees from another nxt clone NFD, so I hope any update shows HZ is indeed still being developed.

Unfortunately, the HZxchange was not successful, so this essentially being only on that and the HZwallet made for a poor trading environment. The current project manager has problems, how do we solve the economic effects.

HZxCHANGE will have compensated BLOCKNET.

I don't actually see any profile on their website. The team pages seem to be offline when the index isn't. How creative.
They however are starting to rise up, I noticed them when i tried browsing which coin can have its potential in the next years and they could just be one. But we'll see if the development is further pushed.

I have been following HZ since early days and have held much of it for a long time.
I just believe it has a good chance to be big even though they keep a low profile.

Poloniex is de-listing it too, which looks to be a great opportunity to stock up at low prices.

Any idea yet which exchange(s) will be listing it now?

It is certainly an up-and-coming coin, the Galactic Milieu (http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=galactic_milieu) for example is making more and more use of it...

The team has abandoned horizon more than a year ago. I had a bunch, which I sold at the last big pump in the autumn. The client has not been developed for more than 2 years. Horizon has long been dead.

i'm not surprise HZ was among that were delisted. maybe polo sees they were all just the dev team trading to it using bots. HZ is NXT clone. SuperNet is somehow surprising. it has good marketcap still as far as i know this is owned by a reputable member here in the forum.

I know poloniex is delisting HZ on May 2, but why is its HZ market already frozen?

There were trades taking place earlier today, and now its market is greyed out with frozen written in its price field. None of the other coins scheduled for delisting have frozen markets.

I don't know why is frozen, but it is interesting. Yesterday I bought and withdrawed some HZ - I hope, this state shows a good news for Horizon  8)

No dev work is not necessarily a bad thing. Some coins the devs keep messing around with; really a good coin should only need bugfixes.

Like it would be nice to figure out, and then fix, whatever was giving me troubles when i was trying to create currencies and assets.

Something like this has been needed for the Galactic Milieu for a long time, what with Open Transactions still not having come up with its "so easy even granny can use it" version.

If all the assets and currencies were related to the Milieu that would be great, as it would help keep people clear that the Milieu is a game, albeit an "alternate reality" game thus one that the so-called "real world it itself just a part of...

Just install the wallet ( https://github.com/NeXTHorizon/hz-source/releases/tag/hz-v5.4 ).
Create an account (You can withdraw the coins already).
Download the blockchain (a day).
And you should see your coins...

I did it - succeeded.

Installing Java JRE - "You have successfully installed Java", - then RUN.BAT

nexthorizon.github.io is working now, coins have come now.

I started to establish a market for Horizon on the NXT Asset Exchange. I started also to write a robot in node js as a gateway between the blockchains - be patient.
Details can you see below:

1 NHZ (NXT Asset Exchange) = 1 HZ (Horizon blockchain)

Issuer Account: NXT-PTKE-6T4L-YL8W-87B5T (Don't send NHZ back to Issuer!!! A gateway address will be published, if the robot works.)
Asset Id: 14827982687132149115

If you wish support my work (and Horizon) - you can buy already some NHZ on the NXT Asset Exchange - I placed some orders. Withdraw it to the Horizon blockchain not yet works - it needs the working robot - be patient.
If I see - es exists some transacition of NHZ on the NXT Asset Exchange - I plan to contact coinmarketcap.com to correct the price for Horizon.

Hello. This is the Space Dollars currency built on the Horizon Platform. More info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SpaceDollars/comments/61xjre/space_dollars_built_on_horizon_to_be_the_first/?utm_content=title&utm_medium=hot&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=SpaceDollars

This coin' s objective is to expand and protect freedom where the internet reaches that decentralizes inflation from currency in the most energy efficient way possible.

From this, I'm looking to build alliances with other Federations who have one common interest: Keep Horizon alive and improve its open source infrastructure.

We can form an United Nations here. Message me on your thoughts. I'm new to Bitcoin talk, so I may need a crash tutorial on how to use it.

If we join alliances, you will receive 40 Million SPD to do as with you wish as part of my give away.

Also note, the first 5 people claim it here will receive 10M SPD  each. Message me for more details :)

How I can receive 10M SPD ? I can attach Russian community .

All giveaways for Space Dollars are now being increased to 100M SPD (10K HZ equivalent). All accounts who have received giveaways so far have their balances upgraded.

2 Programs are planned for Space Dollars and first ever for a POS crypto:

1) Space Compute (3B SPD (300K HZ equivalent)) Allocated: An energy efficient centralized computer divided and taxed by the percentage of SPD owned and used on this system, ie running Windows, or Linux. Where computer users are taxed when using the system to maintain and upgrade it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SpaceDollars/comments/6dm8yb/setting_aside_funding_for_the_first_future_crypto/

2) Space Research (3B SPD (also 300K HZ equivalent)) Allocated: Is as well an energy efficient centralized super computer, but this is built to sell processing power to a free market for 3rd party use with SPD only. The revenue from this business can be used to maintain and upgrade the system.

Hi Guys,

I have a few questions.

Did NHZ become HZ and all the NHZ wallets were ported over?

And was there a coin swap from NFD to (N)HZ? Is this still available?

And are there any buyers for this coin?

Thanks very much friends

Did NHZ become HZ and all the NHZ wallets were ported over?

NHZ is only a gateway asset on the NXT blockchain. It will be changed 1 NHZ : 1 HZ (with a small fee) through a gateway.
The process is simple:
 - you send on HZ blockchain HZ to a gateway address with an NXT address as remark.
 - On NXT blockchain (after some confirmations) you will become NHZ asset.
or back:
 - you send on NXT blockchain NHZ to a gateway address with an HZ address as remark.
 - On HZ blockchain (after some confirmations) you will become HZ coins.

On NXT blockchain you can trade NHZ to NXT as you wish.

And was there a coin swap from NFD to (N)HZ? Is this still available?

It was closed already - I think. How many NFD's you have?

And are there any buyers for this coin?

HZ is a very usable coin (a good clone of NXT) - it has an asset exchange on the HZ blockchain, you can vote on the HZ blockchain, you can issue an asset, or currency on the HZ blockchain, ... I think it will have buyers, if the gateway works.

I have not received any new blocks since the fourth of June, and all ten of my connected peers are shown as not being up to date.

Is there some kind of master-node system going on? If not, why cannot these ten peers, all of which are running the same version, version NRS NHZ V5.4, bring each other up to date?

Also, a node I run on another server hs the user interface showing but when I try to log on to it it claims it cannot connect to the server. What would cause that? Usually one can connect even if it has not gotten the entire blockchain.

I am not at home - I don't know what shows my node... But the blockexplorer of horizon seems to work:
https://explorer.horizonplatform.io/?page=blocks

And shows actual blocks...
Please try to restart some nodes. Maybe it helps.

Aha, that block explorer is way behind my node, it claims the latest block is 978546, whereas my node's last block show, from back on the fourth, was block 983475 ... Which is also the black block my pool saw.

polo and bittrex trades not more Horizon.

I found it on coinmarketcap:
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/next-horizon/

About developer I don't know anything - I made a fork on github, to save the sources (as first step):
https://github.com/ifinta/hz-source

As next step - I start to develop, and admin a gateway to NXT blockchain - to have a Market for Horizon:
https://www.mynxt.info/asset/14827982687132149115

The gateway needs to be tested. After test I will inform you about details. ((gateway addresses, process, ...))

Attention everyone. I have an exchange solution where you can buy Horizon, SPCD, and any HZ Asset currency at any price.
Access the Discord channel I created, the market is text only
There are 3 channels:
1) Sells/Buys HZ 2)Sells/Buys SPCD and 3) Sells/Buys other currencies or assets
You buy in Private Message

After making a purchase you rate the user in the userratting channel by putting a check mark under their name. You can use the search function to find their name.

Using the OKbets bot you can buy SPD with Bitcoin and OKcash. However other payment options should be negotiable, even PayPal

Of course it will survive! It is probably the least expensive platform to use right now and is still just in an adoption phase, a lot of stuff that is on its way onto this platform has not even been set up on it yet, it is taking time to get set up but the fact that HORIZON tokens are cheap right now is helping tip the decisions of a lot of folks who had been thinming of launching but finding the cost a bit high for them back when HORIZON was still on an exchange. They are still hoping that they will get to pick up a lot or HORIZON cheap while it is off the markets...

Sorry I was not aware of this new thread.
https://hz-services.com/wallet/index.html works, but I'm not sure how long I will keep it up and running.
Currently a Bitnation service still relies on the Horizon blockchain. If Bitnation moves to another blockchain then I will shutdown the node.

(or an another, but living fork :) ) I wish you are lucky, and your currency not on a fork. You can check it with the Online Wallet (use your account address, and NOT your passphrase to log in):

http://nexthorizon.github.io/hz-source/

It was a question which exchange I using for the new Horizon Market. I choosed NXT Asset Exchange, and NOT Horizon Asset Exchange, because I see - NXT is more stable at this time. I hope - if the Market established - Horizon become more good new user, more nodes, more nodes, they forging and will be a stable currency.

Is that online wallet still working? Can not log in.

It is interesting that some service is still running on Horizon blockchain.
Do u know if there is any dev working on this project? Anyway it will survive?

I was the lead developer and I'm not working on it anymore.  I'm  not aware of anyone who works on Horizon.
The Slack community https://nhzheroes.slack.com is also dead for a long time.
I didn't know that there were efforts to fork Horizon or efforts to take over the development responsibility. At least no one contacted me.

At the moment I only see 3 running nodes. All 3 have the same height as https://hz-services.com/wallet/index.html.

Horizon, more precisely my node, is artificially kept alive. In my view Horizon is dead excluding any fork I'm not aware of.

Monopoly is a block chain game based on Nxt 1.3.5 codebase with smart contract named FSM(Final State Machine), which is new design of AT(Automated Machine).

50% coins will be distributed by Airdrop FSM , after players jump to the location of the coins in next block, they will share the coins. There are lands in the game too, so players can buy lands(Asset) to build hotel, restaurants, which can be traded in asset market in the game also.

Features:
Total supply: 1 000 000 000
Premine:
10%: NxtAT Asset holders.  (10 NxtAT Asset swap 1 FSMCoin)
10%: HZ holders. (10 HZ swap 1 FSMCoin)

That is interesting.
I have both NxtAT and HZ a lot. It would be great if FSMCoin is something with real value.

there is a lot of coins from back in 2014 being revived with great success
if more people become aware and dev is willing it can be done

It is not on any of the usual public website type of exchanges.

If you look at http://MakeMoney.knotwork.com/ you can see the pages I have been creating about assets used in the Galactic Milieu (http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=galactic_milieu) game, it seems likely that HZ will probably need to be an asset on the STELLAR network so as to provide a way for players to obtain some starting HZ to get a foothold on the HORIZON side of things if they do not join a guild, clan, association, society or whatever which offers ways to get hold of various coins and assets.

The version of HORIZON that I am running is downloadable inside my http://LFM.knotwork.com/ site, that download is un-altered so far, just there to prevent suddenly being unable to find a copy of the last extant version that I know of.

To use it it is advisable to configure into its "well known hosts" list at least dvcstable01.dvcnode.org, dvcstable02.dvcnode.org and dvcstable06.dvcnode.org to ensure that when you fire it up it is able to join the same network of nodes as the other players are using.

Also PLEASE NOTE that as far as I can tell the whole "currencies" thing is broken, I did manage to create a few "currencies" but after that any more I tried to create were rejected as already in use, then just tonight I just discovered that also none of the ways to exchange/trade them (except by simply using transfer to send them to folks and trust them to send something back) seem to work. So I am re-issuing everything I had made into a currency in the form of an asset. So just don't bother using any of the "currencies" shown in the Makemoney Knotwork doc pages. They are all to be re-done as assets.

Downloaded the hzexchange zip and extracted it to see if I could make it work.

Here is your problem from ...\Desktop\hzxchange.net-1.01\README.md:

Code:
# hzxchange.net

Standalone version of the HZXchange client

Download, and open index.html in your browser.

Needs a solution for HZ/BTC price (same origin policy, didn't find an api with CORS header yet)

It's quite easy to understand that until Poloniex stops forwarding our former "delisted" HZ website link to its old HZ/BTC pair (later forwarded the link below to ETH/BTC pair, now its a BTC/USDT pair - you all know what I mean):

EDIT: forgot to link y'all https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_hz

EDIT2: now that I have clicked the link from bitcointalk.org I am being forwarded to (https://poloniex.com/exchange/USDT_STR) STR/USDT

---back to original post---

Go ahead and click it. If you're wondering where CORs is used it is in setting up the platform and changing the nhzdefault.properties file and set the "false" to "true" - my server/node uses Java (Horizon NRS from C:\...) and I can open up an app I created for Internet Explorer to run my wallet and access the platform itself locally just fine :)

Probably why mark never finished migrating to Poloniex and why they have offered similar exchanges since they took part of Horizon stealth-ly away from idiots like me who just used to use web exchanges and not know a thing about the internet, mobile data, the web, the world wide web etc.

But this platform still has many peers - sometimes I get as many as 17! I will run the Horizon Server I setup as a way to support and secure the network as long as it lets me :)

Why let ETH be the only one locking away coins for DeFi when HZ is the origin of Original Proof-of-Stake as well as running just fine according to rules of Nakamoto Consensus. The more HZ one holds on Horizon, the more virtual hashing power it should have for PoS. =P
