Hi!  Just wanted to say hello and that I found multipool last night somehow and hooked up and today I am mining away happily so far. Being a 1st time miner it was not easy to get everything working but it seems to be going okay now. Time will tell how effective I can mine :)

One question if you don't mind.. on our "Account Details" page, the worker area showing worker names and Active.. Khs etc.. doesn't seem to ever show anything even though it is active and mining as I can see on the "My Stats" page via the lovely graph that it is working fine?

Anyway, thanks for making/setting it up and I will keep at it.

Yours,
Torn

You're right, there is a bug on the account details page that I need to fix.

Make sure you are putting in correctly..

I've been mining nonstop since I posted so it's probably on your end.. typos are likely issue.

Unless you can hash 1K+/s you will not see quick results. From about 1Kh/s and up you can do quite well. If you have a decent setup with multiple GPUs you can do okay currently. I do not see it viable to justify buying $1k - $4k USD worth of new GPUs to mine with for great results, but if you have decent hardware already it may turn out okay with the big "IF" LTC goes up as BTC has.

Regardless of actual dollar value, it is fun for some silly reason watching your computer calculate over n over :)

Hey techmars,

Rewards will be paid as soon as a block is found.  We're having extraordinarily bad luck on this block.

I have upped the block bounty to 10LTC for the next block.  Hopefully it will be found soon.

what's up with the current block ?
since LTC price went down, diff should go down as well  and make block easier
what's up with these coins ?

The price is not tied to the diff.,Diff is going up cause bitcoin miners are pointing their gpus to lc and blocks are found more quickly.Thats what drives it.

then what is price tie to ?
certainly diff is one factor, the more diff, coin harder to get, and price should go up unless there is manipulation
that is why diff goes up make block harder to be found when hashrate remain the same
when something is harder to get its price usually goes up unless someone is manipulating the price through cartel or some other shit

Price is simply supply/demand on the exchange. Remember supply is "people offering to sell" not # of coins generated. So they aren't directly tied together. Difficulty adjusts to keep generation of new coins steady over time. So the supply of total coins out there is steady regardless of price.

I think it happens the other direction. Price goes up, so more people want to mine, and that drives up difficulty. So it isn't rising difficulty pushing the price up, it's rising price pushing up the difficulty.

If price goes down to $10, a lot of people will stop mining (not cost effective vs power bill/etc) and that will bring difficulty down. If price of BTC went to $500, almost everyone farming alt coins would stop and everyone would pile on BTC...

problem is, price goes down, diff remain the same or goes higher wtf, someone just trying make the coin harder to get and kick people out so they can keep all the coin to themself

its a nice pool, and now LTC price is going back up more people can join and beef up the hash rate
when is the estimated time for LTC to halve ? know its depend on rate and block found

Flound.. a question please..

Where can I read about terracoin setup? Ive tried several settings in CGMiner but all I keep getting is

"pool 0 JSON stratum auth failed" when I try to connect. I'm positive I have correct credentials and PW yet I cannot connect. My wallet is loaded and updated completely.
After looking for over an hour I cannot find decent documentation for settings for TRC.. can you help here?
Thanks!

Well if stratum auth failed you probably don't have the credentials right..  :)  The pool doesn't check passwords, so you really just need to make sure you have a worker set up.  PM me your cgminer.conf file and I'll take a look.

Well at some time I had it going, I made some coins .. But I have no idea what I did when at this point haha. I also dont have a .conf file yet since I haven't written one. When I do, Ill send to you.
Thanks!

Torn.

P.S. I believe I found the problem :) (Yes, human error) Fixed, cranked it up and no problem this time.
I made a new Worker but don't understand the need for it since can't I mine using the Top/First worker name I have? I'll only mine one type at a time so it shouldn't matter does it?
I'm still sending the .conf file so you can tell me if it needs tweaks.. thanks!

Hi,

I have some issue to get connected... Im not sure I use to good seeting  I have tried different things but without success.

I use the last version of Guiminer :

Host:  "stratum+tcp://multipool.in" ---> first time I see the "stratum+" thing, but well I just copy past...
Port : "3333" --> to mine TRC
Worker:  "Ranplan.test" + "Password"

Thanks

Well.. after almost 6 days of mid-range mining (approx 18 hrs day) I have almost made 1 whole coin! About $3.25 worth supposedly. So I will be stopping for awhile until I can see the possibility of it at least paying for it's power usage. No way to justify the hardware cost of upgrades needed to do that atm.
As I see it, people that can afford to build good mining rigs probably don't need the money they make anyway, it's more just to have more because they can. The guy with 8 mining rigs with 6 x 79xx GPUs in each of them obviously has too much money already! :)

Hopefully LTC will rise like BTC and it will become viable somehow yet I doubt it as I think the all seeing all powerful 'guvment' will destroy it before it can mature.

Be well all.
T.

Hey Torn,

Hate to see you go but if you can only mine 18 hours a day, a PPLNS pool is probably not the best thing for you..  If I were you I'd use a PPS pool that way you ensure you get paid for every share.

With PPLNS the payouts are unpredictable in the short term, the pool could go a few days without finding a block or we could find 3 blocks in the span of 12 hours (both of these scenarios have happened recently)..  If you stop mining and then 6-12 hours later we find a block, there's a possibility that some of your shares might not be paid due to the way PPLNS works.

If you mine BTC, you might consider Eligius. Their CPPSRB system records your credits like PPS would, and pays when blocks are found. Long rounds mean the oldest shares go unpaid, but are still in the queue for future payment in a short round. Then if you only mine a certain # of hours per day you aren't penalized in that way. :)

(Or use a true PPS pool but there are fewer and fewer because the risk of bankruptcy to pool funds is high.)

PPLNS.. learn it, love it or leave it. You get paid AFTER a block is actually found. It's on 80+ hours w'out so far so you have made 0 coins. If you expect payments daily then this may not be for you. May have to go back to where you were and be happy.

Be well,
T.

Newbie miner here with LTC. I registered for the pool a couple days ago and successfully submitting blocks but my stats show nothing. I expected it would take 48h or so to propagate, and it's been longer than that so far.

When can I start seeing my stats?

I'm just trying to understand how to set it up.

Yes I've went to the Litecoin site and downloaded the software, it tells me about wallet encryption, but does not tell me where to register for one or what mine is? I'm starting to think that it is built into the program but again, where is my address so I get proper credit for mining?

Absolute beginners tutorials I read were almost anything but. They don't explain what your wallet is and how you can access or see it.

Bitcoin however, I sign up for a wallet at one of the many wallet sites, point the program to the pool ip and port, enter username, and pw and boom I'm mining...

I unlocked your account.  Unfortunately I do not see any entries in the LTC shares table for your worker serpah.1.  (not even invalids) Are you sure your miner is connecting to my pool?  Are you sure you're mining on the correct port for LTC?

I sent you an email (without a reply). Sexcoin withdrawls are giving errors and when the withdrawl goes through, it still has not shown up in my wallet. Is there something wrong? I'm new to this coin but not to bitcoin or LTC.

Hi,

Sexcoin seems to be active on two or more independent networks or blockchains.  Is that what is known as forked?  Sorry I'm not familiar with the intricacies of how it works.  What I do know is that all was well and I was receiving payouts approximately every half hour from your pool up until about 5 hours ago.  According to the stats on the website, I have been sent a total of 3401 SXC up to the present time.  My wallet has received only 2203, with no transactions in the last 5 hours.

My wallet is connected to the network, synced and receiving blocks every minute or so.  The number of blocks is slightly different to what is reported on your pool site, which leads me to believe that the block chain has forked into two independent networks with my wallet connecting to one and your pool server to the other one.  I downloaded another copy of the client onto another computer connected to the internet from another country (VPS) and when I copied my wallet.dat onto that computer I get the same result - all my initial transactions show up and confirm just fine but nothing since 7:02am NZST (GMT+12).  It is now 2:10pm NZST.

Is there a way to verify that this is the case?  Or to force the wallet to connect to one or the other network?  If there is any tech info on this please point me to it.

Thanks.

Yep, it appears as though SXC has forked.

I will contact the SXC devs about this.  Hopefully they will know what to do.

Noticed this a few hours ago as well, according to "my stats" I should have 5.5kSXC, but I only have 4.8k in my wallet. Updates in the News-feed on the home page when it's been fixed would be very welcome. Think I'll stick to WDC for the time being as most other miners seem to be doing :)

I received some more, but not all.  It does seem to be fixed now. I'm guessing it won't be possible to "fix" it completely if mining was carried out on two forks, not without a time machine :)  Some of the mined coins will simply cease to exist.

Well, it kind of sucks to lose the coins for 2 full days of mining. I'll just chock it up to a life lesson and use the auto pay feature at all pools I deal with to minimize the loss if something like this happens again.

It wouldn't have made a difference. Remember the "coins" only exist in your wallet because they show up on the blockchain. It isn't like a bank account where money is transferred into it. So when a fork happens, and then gets resolved, any transfers done and new coins created on the fork that didn't survive don't exist. It's like they simply never happened at all. So if you have done auto-payout, once the fork was resolved there would be no record of your payment on the blockchain and no record those coins were ever created in the first place. Your wallet, once it updated to the correct block chain, would show the lower balance without the non-existent coins.

Thank you very much for your assistance in helping me wrap my head around this whole fork thing. I'm wondering though what would happen if I earned some of the coins pre-fork, since I requested the payout post-fork, would all my pre-fork coins be gone?

The coins you mind before the fork still exist. The payout after the fork never happened. So those coins should still be around. The pool might have recorded the payout to you but they'll just need to reverse those since any forked payouts made on pre-forked coins were never actually sent.

Forks are super annoying but thankfully pretty rare, even in alt chains. It has been ages since it happened in BTC I believe.

Yeah, I started mining SXC before I had a wallet set up, so I let too much accumulate on the pool. Lesson Learned. I am still using the pool however, since I don't believe that the operator was responsible for the fork. I will just cash out regularly.

flound1129 seems quite reputable and withdrawing doesn't protect from a fork. It does protect from a hacker robbing the pool, I guess. :)

Actually, *not* withdrawing would protect you from a fork, as your balance exists as a row in a database table and not on the blockchain.

The pool lost around 30,000 coins due to the fork. I will personally cover anyone's losses from the fork.  Please contact me if you lost coins due to the fork.  I know that some people did in fact receive their coins eventually, once the fork resolved itself, so be prepared to document your losses.

Miners on the pool, cumulatively, should only have lost 20 blocks worth of coins, since those 20 blocks were invalidated before they were paid out.  All of the forked blocks that were paid out remained in your balances unless you withdrew them and they somehow got lost in the network.  Again, I am a bit skeptical about this happening as I was in communication with one person who eventually received all their payouts, even the ones sent during the fork.

You're right.  For now I changed the profitability calculation to rank WDC at 75% of its "optimal" profitability.  We'll see how things go.

So, I tried mining the Digi-Coins.  I started around 9 last night, it is now 5 for me.  The estimate has been floating around 100 DGC a day, so far my take for 20 hours is 48.6.  That will probably put me around 56-57 after 24 hours, roughly 60% of the estimate.  These guys may have a point that all the calculations are wrong, at least on fast coins.

Is there something you could do on your end to provide a historical average of reward / hashing?

Thanks.

Meh, Sorry, I went to bed early and missed this.

I switched back to litecoins last night so the numbers are off, but this should answer your question

That block of time netted me 72.3273 WDC, though the estimate kept floating around 101 in a 24 hour period.

Does that help?

Hey,
So I just started mining with your pool last night on the multiport.  Everything seems to be going fine so far, I have seen the port jump coins several times without problem and I seem to be make a few coins.  I love the idea of always being able to mine the most valuable coin, but my question is how best to actually profit from it?

Should I be withdrawing every few coins and exchanging them in order to take advantage of the better exchange rate; that seems like a rather time-intensive effort for the user to be constantly monitoring and exchanging.  Or do I hold my mined coins on the assumption that the price will fluctuate back up again in a day or two?  Is there a limit to how often I can withdraw coins from my pool account?

How do other miners in this pool operate to take advantage of its core benefit (aka automatic switching to profitable coins)?

I've stopped mining yesterday cause of much people came to mine ftc and found one block.
Last time I saw ftc pool stats it said I had around 125 FTC and the Est. Time To Find Block was 3 times smaller than the Time Since Last Block, so I don't think the ppls would cut my earning 100times
Today I recieved "Your balance of 1.02600828 has exceeded your automatic..."
could you say me it's ok? My name on the pool is the same.

Is there any way to unlock a payment address?

Cheers,

Email me your username and I will unlock it.

Hi, there were many issues on the FTC network yesterday, and several blocks were orphaned.  This resulted in the wallet emptying itself as some blocks were paid at 20 confirms and then later orphaned.  If you still have a balance in your account you should be able to withdraw it now.

If you use the scrypt Multiport (port 7777) it will automatically switch to the most profitable for you.

I've started mining with multipool.in:7777.  It appears to be working and communicating well.  It has been 2 hours and I'm not seeing any updates in My Stats.

Did I do something wrong?

What's your username?

Sorry, I thought I'd get an email notification if I got a reply but didn't get one.  I finally got it working.  I can't remember what I had done though.

Now I'm on a new issue.

I mined on port 7777 for awhile, but wanted to build up on 1 coin to play with so i switched to port 3343 for DGC.  Now I wanted to switch to port 3342 but it won't let me.

I'm using cgminer and here's what I've done:

  • Changed the port # in config file, restarted cgminer.  It added 3342 as a pool option but port 3343 stayed active
  • Tried to switch to pool with the port # 3342 within the pool option and it won't switch.
  • Exited cgminer, changed the port # in the .bat file, started up cgminer.  Again port # 3343 is active while the other ports are back ups.
  • In the pool menu of cgminer, I disabled the pool with port # 3343, it did switch to port #3342... but it won't hash.  Nothing comes up.

I don't know what else to try.

Update:  I tried disabling pool with port # 3343, restarted cgminer, but it just re-enabled the pool with port # 3343.

Update:  nevermind, it's working now.  I went into pool menu, removed pools, quit cgminer.  Restarted with .bat file, and it started back up.  For whatever reason though, at startup I was getting an error about network at pool being slow or bad credentials.  But it appears to be fine now because the site is showing that I've got a hashrate going.

Yeah the multiport will never mine terracoin since it's not scrypt.  At some point I will add a SHA256 Multiport.

Hey...have switched from BTC to altcoins and found your multipool very attractive.
Looks great!

I have connection problems with my stratum proxy though and hope anyone can help me out.
I use slush0īs mining proxy (https://github.com/slush0/stratum-mining-proxy) and have never had problems with it.
Before I was mining at bitminter. There I connected to port:8332

Now: If i use
"mining_proxy.py o- stratum+tcp://multipool.in p- 3333 it canīt connect
then I used
"mining_proxy.py o- multipool.in p- 3333 and it was working but of course it was mining TRC - because thatīs the port for TRC -

Then I tried:
"mining_proxy.py o- multipool.in p- 3339 and also with the port 7777 but then it does not connect.

Anyone here who can help me out with some ideas?

Hey guys...hereīs my next question coming up my mind:

Why is speed jumping around that showed way?
http://abload.de/img/chartmoj4d.png

My miner is mining at a very constant speed and says 1.800MH/s which is about where I marked the red line.
So have I something missconfigured (as said above Iīm using a mining proxy) or is that just normal?

It's probably normal.  The reason it's jumping around is because I've set the pools to use 2 minute averages rather than 10 minute averages..  The pool doesn't count invalid shares in your hashrate so it will show up a bit less than your miner reports.

Hey Flound.. have any idea why the difficulty is so high atm? It's almost twice what the hashing on the network is. Seems backwards.. more hash power = higher diff supposedly yet the diff is zooming these last couple weeks beyond hashing growth.

I've watched it go from 38M to 42 to 48.6, back down to 41.8 and today its at 50+M.
Later,

Neat pool thanks for providing it. I'll have to check it out to see how easy it is to mine with.

It's pretty easy.
its a nice pool, and now LTC price is going back up more people can join and beef up the hash rate
when is the estimated time for LTC to halve ? know its depend on rate and block found
Good luck with the pool. Have a bump.

Oh, I'm not sure you're reading the graph correctly..  LTC difficulty is actually over 800 now, there is a second axis that difficulty is plotted against, on the right side..  It's not the same as the hashrate.

Oh, that..  LTC (and most/(all?) other scrypt coins') difficulty shown by the coin daemons and on most websites is divided by 65536, 53M is what it would be if it were calculated the same as BTC difficulty (52989132.8 currently)

I don't know the rationale behind this decision.

Hi Flound.

Just joined your most excellent pool today (same username here and at the pool.) Got quick questions:

1. What makes a "Hero Member" i.e. the STAR SYMBOL ?
2. What qualifies as a "Donation Supporter"? I noticed that some users whom are donating (albeit a tinny winnie amt.) but not all donors have "FEATHERS"? Is there a minimum % ? Are there other levels besides "Supporter"?
3. I figured out the "CROWN" trophy (hah) but there seems to be just enuff space to its right (and left of the STAR) that another trophy could be had. True?

Sorry for the bother...

//del//

P.S. I got 3 more blades coming in about two weeks and will put it into the pooling for a total of 5 blades for "sillywhim".

When we're on MNC we can find 20+ blocks per minute.   The pool stats page updates every 5 minutes.  So your blocks may never have made it there.  Here are the blocks I have you finding:

Code:

|      112444 | robkoz.2 |

Hi Silly, glad you're enjoying the pool. :)

Hero members are those whom I chose to recognize for being early adopters/supporters of the pool, or donating something of value (i.e. our logo, technical expertise, time, etc.).

The donator trophies are explained on the donations page but basically you get a gold BTC for donating 4% or more of your earnings, a silver LTC for 3%+, and a bronze FTC for 2%+.  The only additional icon available at the moment is the Admin icon which only I have. :)

Thanks for the bump, LOLmoney!

About the guy above me, he actually attempted to scam me on Bitmit, and got angry when it didn't work.

He is my sole negative feedback on Bitmit, every other one is positive. I certainly didn't spend all my time building a reptuation there so I could scam this little punk out of $10.

If anyone's interested you can see a screenshot of our exchange here: https://i.imgur.com/Dk36MvY.png

Bitmit actually had a bit of an exploitative situation going a while back, when they were getting their BTC price directly from Mt. Gox. When Gox was under ddos, Bitmit's exchange price would stick at whatever price they had last gotten from Gox, even if BTC was going down on all the other exchanges.

Some unsavory types like Niexist took advantage of this situation by buying BTC at the lower price, and buying the auctions at the same time, which used the higher price that Bitmit was using for the exchange. I actually took hundreds of dollars in losses at first due to these bad sales, because I was trying to build my reputation on Bitmit. But eventually I priced my auctions in BTC and reworded the details to prevent that situation. I guess Niexist didn't check the wording the second time.

BTW, Niexist, if you had nicely asked for a refund, I would have gladly obliged. But I guess I was in a bad mood that day due to something else, and either way, I didn't take kindly to the way you were speaking to me.

So in conclusion, this dude is a wannabe scammer punk. Read the screenshot and decide for yourself. Niexist, please feel free to stay the fuck off my pool.

Hi everyone!
I did try to download the Android Application, without any sucess.
At PlayStore it says that the minimun version of Android is 1.6, but I'm at 2.3.7 and it's keeps telling me that it's incompatible with my mobile...
So I back to my studies with Java+Android development and started an "study project".
I developed and small app to keep track my workers - MultipoolMonitor.apk (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2GbOGbOigbCYm1EZWJGRERuR28)
I didn't put it at googlePlay 'cause I don't have a developer account there...
I'd like to receive any feedback about it's behaviour...

Hello all, I have a PPLNS and multipool:7777 question. PPLNS is designed so miners have to mine a specific coin for an extended period of time to be profitable. However, when using port 7777 the coin being mined is constantly changing. How can this be profitable ? It actually sounds like the least profitable method if constantly switching. Am I missing something ? Thanks.

PPLNS is actually designed so that miners who mined closer to when a block is found are paid, avoiding the problem of pool hopping where people hop on to mine right after a block is found (which would be the beginning of a new round with a proportional system).

We use time-based PPLNS which I feel is a good compromise that helps the dedicated coin miners share rewards equitably with the port 7777 miners.  On the faster coins the time is set very low, so the multiport miners won't continue getting paid for very long after hopping off a coin, and they also won't take too much of the dedicated miners' rewards if a block is found shortly after the multiport hops to that coin. It also ensures that on the longer coins, people who have been mining on a coin within the past X hours will get paid for their efforts and not have their shares thrown out of the round due to the multiport submitting tons of shares.

I could change the multiport-only coins to a Proportional system, but that might result in some people not getting paid for some blocks, since on the really fast coins sometimes we find blocks within seconds of each other and there might not even be enough time for everyone mining to submit even 1 share.  It would also add complexity to pay different coins using different systems.

OK let me ask this then: Concerning payouts, is there any advantage or disadvantage concerning multipool users vs. dedicated users, or does it basically work out the same in the long run (i.e same profits either way assuming a dedicated miner mined the same coins at the same time) ?

Well, the idea is to not give an advantage to either group.  I don't have any math to give you, I tried to set reasonable time periods based on the average block time for each coin.

Not necessarily strictly related to this pool, but:

How might I automatically sell coins mined from this pool on exchanges?

You'd need to set up auto withdraw thresholds on all of your coins, then write a bot that uses the exchange API to automatically sell them.

I just started mining with this pool today using cgminer with two 7790s about 500khs whenever it switches to LTC it seems I get an error pool 0 JSON stratum auth failed: (null) what does this mean and is it something I'm doing wrong or a problem with the pool?

It's a problem with the pool.  I've been trying to track down this bug for days now, if you can email me directly I'll help you.

Ok. Anyone who knows of such a bot, pls let me know. Otherwise (probably meanwhile) I'm looking into writing such a bot myself, maybe for cryptsy, maybe other exchanges where the alt-coins mined at this pool are traded . . . le sigh, all possible exchanges for every alt-coin mined by this pool would be best, so that they can be automatically sold at the best current price.

I would also want it to be able to not sell some of the coins at exchanges (or in other words sell only a percentage of them), and instead relay the unsold remainder to a private address for hoarding, to speculate on long-term value gain . . . :)

(It would actually be really cool to instead set the pool to withdraw a portion of payouts to one address (for example an exchange), and the remainder to another address (like a privately held wallet). But that would be a feature request, wouldn't it? ;) Ah, snap, I could probably have a browser bot do that! . . . but that doesn't feel as safe . . .)

We'd chip in 1 BTC for that bot. Exactly what we need as well, including the 'keep a bit' feature.

Just started on the site, is pretty good so far. But didn't realise 7777 means setting up multiple new wallets, opening a Vircurex account and lots of manual trading - can't risk coin values dropping between mining and selling...

You don't have to set up wallets, you can send directly to exchanges.  I don't even have personal wallets for every currency on the site.

Should have waited before posting! Yes, we're doing that now. Has meant opening two more trading accounts (Virc and MCX), and now a third is needed since we've automined some LKY - which isn't traded on either of those two.

But... we're actually going to stick to LTC-only (with you) until we're a lot bigger. Because of the minimum fees charged by the exchanges, we will have to wait a while until balances have built up before transferring out - otherwise it's too much % to lose.

But, of course, the prices will have changed by then...!

Pretty newb question here - is it possible to connect to pool using minerd?

As far as I understand I need to connect using stratum so would a combo of stratum proxy+minerd work?

Or do I need to set up cgminer to work on cpu?

The multiport has a getwork port on 17777, you can't mine anything directly with getwork though.

The latest version of cpuminer supports stratum protocol though.

Not much fun when the pool doesn't hit a block for ages... Had to quit.

I'd think the odds of other pools hitting a block is lower, unless they've got bonkers hashrates (even if on less profitable cryptocurrencies).

I tried mining middlecoin.com, and discovered they seem to be mining a cryptocurrency under attack right now (it reported a block generation every few seconds, it was ridiculous) . . . otherwise, their feature of auto-selling at exchanges, then paying out in bitcoin, is an attractive option.

I will however say that I have a lot of straddled payouts of about .2 to .7 coin (of various currencies), and if those float there for long enough, I hope they are paid out just because they've been sitting there too long.

Middlecoin looks interesting, we might try it. We stopped multi because it was mining too many really obscure ones that are too volatile (so not the best price when actually sold) and a pain to sell. Also don't want to trade without Yubikey.

Switched to LTC only, but not enough other miners were on it as well, so basically a day's mining for nothing. Understand the maths, but still annoying. Our last pool was PPS.

Noob question (what else) cgminer tells me I go around 300 kh/s but the pool tells me around 100. is it normal?

Title: Re: [ANN][Multi-Coin][Stratum] multipool.in - Always Mine the most profitable coin
Post by: mcgreed on July 27, 2013, 04:11:46 PM
First to the "noob question--" yes that's normal. Your miner is reporting how many hashes it has calculated (whether they resulted in acceptable shares to submit or not), period. The pool is only aware of the hashes you submit to be accepted to the pool. The pool is reporting the rate for those hashes which it is aware of (the hashes you submitted).

EBM,

Middlecoin looks interesting, we might try it. We stopped multi because it was mining too many really obscure ones that are too volatile (so not the best price when actually sold) and a pain to sell. Also don't want to trade without Yubikey.

I tested multipool.in versus middlecoin.com for two days using two comparable hashrate cards for each. I wish I had been more scientific about it--meaning, noted the exact start time of my test, and performed the test with one each of two identical cards (instead of four comparable cards divided), so I can't conclude which was more profitable in the time period. What I can say is that they're both highly (and, it seems, comparably) profitable :)

Naturally, I'm curious to do that test more scientifically.

I will say that unless/until I find or make a bot that auto-withdraws and sells winnings at the best market price (I've had to miss the best price quite often, by checking the exchange I auto-payout to, and seeing the coin in question was most profitable, say, two hours ago), and unless I can throw more hashing power at the pool so that portions of coins are not straddled beneath 1 (OR if coin amounts lower than one could be paid out manually after they've sat long enough), that other switching pools might be more attractive. That is, unless more scientific tests discover this pool to be more profitable despite those drawbacks :)

flound1129, I saw what I thought was a good idea in the middlecoin.com developer's plans (as posted at their thread about that pool): seamlessly switch the coin being mined when a block is found. I don't know whether you'd entertained that idea or plan to do that, but to me it seems like a good idea (you can look at the thread about that coin for other details of their plans).

Also, to ask an entirely barbaric question, what are some of the other auto-switching pools (and in particular, which ones are gaining popularity)?

Hi Flound,

I very happy that I found you mining pool, it's great idea. Nice done work!

But I have some problems with cash out . I just want test how its works. And I can't. When I do cash out I always getting this message "Another payout is currently in progress, try again in a minute.". Maybe I do something wrong? Or I need some minimum that I can cash out? Or something other action I have make?

Thanks in advance,

Tds

I'm pretty new to all of this, but on Cryptsy it says "Notice: Do NOT use p2pool to deposit directly to your Cryptsy wallets, as it will not show the address in our wallet and we will be unable to credit your account." So is this not a p2pool?

Or do you use another exchange somewhere? I got tired of trying to compile dozens of wallets in Linux (especially with CentOS. I'm thinking of switching to Fedora).

EDIT - I may have answered my own question. I'm under the impression that P2Pool is a specific pool (i.e http://p2pool.info/) and not a "type" of pool like I thought earlier. Anyway, if someone could confirm that transferring directly from www.multipool.us to Cryptsy works, I would appreciate it.

Awesome pool btw...

I have it auto-payout to cryptsy wallet addresses. It works fine. I just watch cryptsy for when the deposits show up.

(This is why I want a bot that checks cryptsy (and other exchanges), say, every five minutes--and instantly sells anything besides bitcoin deposited there, for bitcoin, if the price as agreeable.)

Canīt find any decent answers, so I make it short and dirty:

Iīm mining TRC on EU server because I have much better pings (sitting in EU though ;) ).
Here I canīt adjust the mining diff because thatīs for US servers only, I know.

But why should I increase it?
Iīm mining with Erupter Blades (13GH/s) on diff 1 which seems pretty low to me. Would it be a more stable and effective mining if I would switch to US server and increase diff to something like 32?

Just finally tried the pool today.  ;D

Also looking forward to the upcoming new features with selectable Diff and the exchange option.

The cryptsy autosell api seems to be working so I will be switching over to multipool from middlecoin after the payout today for a couple days.

Are you planning to add more coins in the near future?

Are you planning to have more than 1 exchange? Anything else you might care to disclose would be great also.

Thanks for the great pool!

I probably will not offer exchange to anything other than BTC at first.

Hi,

I have started mining TRC, bfgminer is saying that shares are accepted and everything seems fine, however "your detailed stats" showing zeros, more than hour past already

Hi,

I have started mining TRC, bfgminer is saying that shares are accepted and everything seems fine, however "your detailed stats" showing zeros, more than hour past already

On PPLNS you get paid when we find a block.  check https://www.multipool.us/help.php (https://www.multipool.us/help.php)

big problem, mining pc shows hash rate of 487~ish KH/s yet it shows 0 in everything but Q and the line below has some random numbers, also seems the multiport pool isnt picking up my hash rate at all.

as in like this:    Q:19 A:0 r:0 hw:0 e:0% u:0.0/n
                      tq:0 st:3 ss:0 dw:18 nb:7 lw:41 gf:0 rf:0

something doesnt seem right and i have no idea what that second row is for, all i know is A usually has number of answers and E is efficiency

forgot to mention im running the multiport

Yes I've read but still did not understand why after 1.5 hour my balance have not been changed. Moreover bfgminer was reporting accepted shares.

Can you comment?

My displayed hashrate and cgminer hashrate have conflicting views.

Displayed: DGC   60    KH/s
CGMiner: 554.6/Khs

I am mining on stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:7777 with 7970 using the supplied config file. The low hashrate has been displayed for about 24 hours now. Any thoughts anyone?

After tinkering with cgminer settings for the 7970 for some time I still cannot get this card to mine. CGMiner reports that I am running at 560-600 khs but I am finding very little shares(20 in about 24 hours). The site reports that I am running at about 15-20 khs.

Anyone ever have this problem? The card does fine with SHA256 coins.

It looks like the pool got stuck on MNC for about 8 hours while the www site was down.  We lost a lot of potential on other coins, and drove MNC difficulty through the roof and prof is now 0.32.  The last 5 blocks took over 2 hours, and it will take a while for it to recover.

I've been wanting to move over to this pool for a while now, but am currently stuck at port 80 pools due to a firewall. Is the only option to connect to a proxy outside of the firewall? Unfortunately port 7777 has no chance of being opened for me.

yeah, I feel bad about MNC..  I've put safeguards into place that should not allow this to happen again.

It doesn't, we're on the wrong chain.  I'm waiting for a client update before I re-enable it.  The only reason the daemon is up is so people can withdraw if they want to.

When mining on multipool after about 24 hours my cg miner crashes and stops mining.

It is fine when mining on an individual coin via multipool and other pools. Do you think it could possibly be related to the the pool switching coins? If so any ideas on how to stop it crashing?

Are you on the latest version?  I have no problems with 3.3.1.

Some people in our thread have this problem as well, I believe they use cgwatcher to restart cgminer if it drops below a certain hashrate.

if someone could confirm that transferring directly from www.multipool.us to Cryptsy works, I would appreciate it.

Also relevant to this (I'd commented earlier that deposit from multipool.us to Cryptsy wallets works): cryptsy now has a feature to enable automatic sells from any wallet when deposits thereto confirm.

I still hope for flound's update to auto-sell at the currently most profitable exchange, when deposits are confirmed at multipool.in wallets, but meanwhile, this feature at cryptsy will be more convenient. Also, I hope, more profitable.

No, but there is a minimum threshold of 1 coin.  This tends to be only an issue for NVC.  You can withdraw smaller amounts on-demand, but if you do so, you get hit with the network fees.

Wow Just made the switch from Nushor's LTC pool to Multipool! This pool brings in way higher shares than the other pool. My hash rate peaks at 270, but stays at 230 to 250.    1920 share in the first few mins, plus Est coins a day right now, it says 0.1898. The other site gives me .1012 coins.

So I will give this pool a try for 24 hours and see where it takes me.

Edite: Now make that    0.2344 coins a day.

I wouldn't recommend direct mining LTC unless you are prepared for very high payout variance.

Use the multiport (7777) insteadl.

Multipool ignores the password.
I think the problem is your server name.  Try putting stratum+tcp:// at the start of it:
stratum+tcp://pool1.eu.multipool.us

I use cgminer, so I am just guessing, but give it a try.

It looks like your original setup was correct.  It shows 11 shares submitted.  The hash rate in the upper left corner of the website shows a 10 minute average, and it is only updated every 2-3 minutes.  You may have just not let it run long enough to show results.

New miner here. Started using BitMiner and switched to multi-pool 2 days ago. Seems like a good service. I have a small problem though. My workers are running, but none are showing up under active workers, balances are still at 0.0000*
Workers are running cgminer on stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:7777
Is the website just bugging out or do I have something wrong.

I currently mine at a measley 10 Mh/s. I have only been mining a week and have been learning a lot, I plan on running raspberry pi's with usb eruptors soon.

multipool is seeing the work being done with worker xxx.1 on CPUminer at a blazing 3.5 KH/s, when I try to utilize the on-board nvidia 4200 with cgminer or bfgminer under worker xxx.test, either miner will "connect" to the litecoin mining pool as directed, but after running for over a day, multipool never showed the worker xxx.test as working, and my litecoin balance didn't change. what am i doing wrong ??? the video card should be capable of putting out 9-10 MH/s

Try on something faster, the hash rates on LTC and NVC hardly show up. Since DGC diff is fluctuating I suggest you try CGminer with WorldCoin to try out. And besides you mentioned 10MH/s so I assumed you to be mining TRC. If you're mining LTC etc, you sure you're adding --scrypt switch? Get rid of the .conf and run this from command line

Quote
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:3342 --thread-concurrency 16384 -u xxx.1 -p x -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 -I 20

You might play with the thread concurrency value and Intensity values. Try mining for 30 mins and then see

would be nice to have sha256 multipool to switches between btc, ppc, and TRC depending on which is most profitable at the time

Good day!

I'm new to this pool and so far I really like it. I've a question though. How do I manage all those coins? Do I need to have a wallet for each type of coin?

If that could be clarified that be really helpfull!

Regards,
Jamie

You're not going to keep all these alt coins, are you? If yes, and you think you could store them and sell when they climb up the price ladder (if ever, stuff as with WDC do happen though) then you could install a wallet for each and sync MBs of data daily or leave them in multipool (risky). If you're like most other people however, you'd wanna bank on BTC/LTC/FTC or some stable coin with a future. In that case you could just transfer your funds in multipool to an exchange like cryptsy and sell them there for BTC/LTC. No wallet needed. I only have multibit and LTC wallet installed.

Personally, I just use the online Exchanges as 'wallets'. It seems complicated, but with the coins I've dabbled in. I have holdings in 3 Exchanges. That's not hard to manage when you consider I've dabbled in LTC, TRC, PPC, NMC (via merged mining; btw, can we get NMC on Multipool...it's worth quite a bit considering it's an alt coin), ZET, and ASC....oh and of course BTC.

All the coins I mine I funnel back into BTC, which is then sent to an 'Online Wallet' (Blockchain's). And a backup is made that is store on my Google Drive as well as a local backup on my HDD....which is then backed up to a backup drive :P

Is there a way to make the automatic threshold for bitcoin be .1 instead of 1?

Can you lock it on Btc, until the first block is found. That way we can atleast know it works

I can't hardly connect to the pool anymore - FTC, WDC, and DGC always seems to kick my GPUs off or prevent them from connecting to the pool in the first place.  It's been happening for a few weeks now and it's getting so hard to connect that it's ridiculous.

Speaking of ridiculous, why is the pool so fond of FTC?  It's sooooo very often that I look to see that the multipool is on FTC, then look at coinwarz to find the most profitable coins.  For instance, it's now on FTC yet more profitable coins currently include: WDC, CAP, NVC, MEC, CGB, and LTC - all before FTC.  Why does the pool favor FTC so much?  It's crap to me- in fact the only Scrypt coin on the website that I try to avoid mining.

plz fix.

EDIT: never mind, its working now. i recopied and pasted the address in my miner. ill let you know if any problems occur.

Yeah... for over 4 hours now I've been connected to the pool with no D/Cs.  In that time the pool has switched to all the coins with which I was having problems.  Looks like a solid fix :) Thank you!

So I thought I would give this pool a try. the erupters in cgminer are say they are doing 1.3Gh/z where as the website is jumping between 230-460 Mh/z.

I am also getting these messages: ICA0: invalid nonce - HW error
stratum from pool 0 requested work restart
stratum connection to pool 0 interupter
and the occasional message of an accepted thingy.

Not sure what i have done wrong so any suggestions would be appriciated.

Thanks

Edit: It seemed to have worked itself out. Though when it changes coins, it seems to be down for 10-15 minutes after each change. Is that normal? It has also changed coin 4 times in the last 15 minutes. so no mining for a 30 minute timeframe assuming it doesn't change again.

Requested CashOut more than an hour ago. Still in the "Requested" state. No email notification either. Is it ok?
