Title: How do manage portfolio efficiently while having a full time job?
Post by: waynechong1995 on October 21, 2017, 04:31:19 AM
By having a weekday 9-5 job, i must say my eyes aren't that keen anymore for trends and hardly made any good decision on buying/selling alts. Basically what i did is:

Weekdays: Coinalarm app to observe my portfolio real time but it's far less efficient and responsive to market movement, Slack and Telegram app are linked as well but still is very difficult to process insightful information while in working mood.

Weekends: More active than usual but time is limited  :-\

Any opinions or suggestion to improve my current situation?

Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english  :(

If you are a trader it is very important to get fast and accurate information to monitor your coin movements.
I use the blockfolio app, very good to use and complete with interesting information.
The application I use trader is Z trader.

If you want to manage your portfolio even you have a full time job then go for long term because if you will go for long term investment within your portfolio then you don't need to worry for monitoring it daily because you can do it weekly or even monthly. A portfolio doesn't is for long term in my opinion and investing for long term is the best for you if you have a full time job so you will have a back up source of income.

I use block folio app as well. With the app, what need to do is just add your coins and from time to time you check the progress of your coins.

Again, what I usually think or suggest for a trader both cryptos or forex trader who is very busy is to take up a lesser job or give up the job entirely and focus on trade etc. You can make good money from it (except the person is a professional like medical doctor etc that wants to keep practicing, then you work out your schedule ).

You are really in the right position to determine which one is best for you because we are not in the same shoes. I also full time from 8am -5pm but it might not be as tedious as yours. What I do basically is not to keep large amount of coins because there is no enough time to monitor them and at the same time, I always trade on only one or two exchange sites this enable me to have my attention streamline to a place.

I then set my order to my preferred point irrespective whether I might lose or not then check in several times in a day to know if my objective is gradually being met or not, I then reevaluate my position as to whether to cancel or renew it.

if you are a worker use your work time to work and use your smartphone as a reminder of when to see the market. most people get bored because of their work but by using the existing app on the smartphone it will be of little help. use time wisely. investing a little from your work will make you more excited.
i use app taptrader for checking market crypto

If I want to manage my portfolio efficiently while having a full time job simply I go with systemic investment plan where I no need to worry about ups and down of-course it would be long term only.

To be honestly saying it is very difficult to manage portfolio while we are having fulltime job.

In my opinion, if you can't earn your weekly salary out of active crypto trading you should go to passive trade or long term hold, you'll earn more.

Just stop doing short-term trades. Instead focus on identifying a few promising projects that are realistic (e.g. won't be hard to develop and get off the ground) and have large longterm potential. Then stick with those and wait. That way you can just enjoy your free time without having to worry about trends (which most people fail to trade efficiently anyways).

Yeah I agree with you. He should stop short term trading, because short term trading needs much more time than trading/investing long term promising projects.
I had been short term trading in stocks a few years back. However I stop it because of my 7-4 job. Today I go with long term and I am happy.

Hey wayne,

You'd be surprised at how many actual traders out there also have a full-time job! In the mid-2000s when I was into forex trading, it was actually only a part-time time-reliant, full-time effort... basically I spent most of my free time outside of my income-earning career to learn. I think regardless of how you trade and how much time you have for it, 90% of it has to be invested into learning and studying.

In terms of having a 9-5 like you do, the weekends and evenings should be put into reading, completing courses, perhaps even just reading analysis and insight from other traders, discussions on forums like this.

In fact, only having limited hours on your trading platform means you are perfectly suited for patient, long-term thinking required for disciplined trading. No day trades, no need to respond or react quickly to breaking news. Enter the market at carefully decided points, set your profit target as well as stop losses, and let the trades take care of themselves.

Typically the ones who maintain a small portfolio being normal 9-5 employees end up understanding the true profit that can be derived from altcoin day trading and eventually quit their jobs for it.
If you're keen on managing your portfolio, just dedicate a few hours of time for it daily. Might be difficult at first but things will get imbued into your timetable kind of a thing and you'll end up dedicating time for it on a daily basis.

I must say that if you are having some permanent job and that too full time job, then it will require a lot of efforts and determination if you want to manage both the things well. It is no doubt not an easy task to do and it is not possible for everyone to do such kind of things. You can manage your portfolio in a well manner by allocating proper time to bitcoin after the office hours.

Obviously that it is a difficult task for anyone, but i am still a student and i am more than 8 hours a day studing, but i still have enough time to take care of my bussiness and all that concerns about cryptocurrencies.
But looking and checking the charts everyday and every hour is a little bit exhausting, but i dont care because i am making a huge profit from it.
I try to use the last hours of everyday to make those kind of tasks.

It think its not really an issue at all.I would like to ask if you do have the access on your phone while you are still on work? If yes then that would be great. You can monitor anytime on the price and once you do saw opportunity you can just simply make some trades since it wont really cost too much time which would affect your day stable job.Its just really a matter of time management.

Yes I have one main suggestion for you and for those with limited time and that is limit your projects. It sounds simple but to not be overwhelmed in this industry we must do exactly this. If I were you I wouldnt get into more

than 5-10 projects at at time because the information would be too much. Even for me as a full time job I dont like to get into much more than that anyways, I can only imagine it hard it is doing this part time

The best way to manage your portfolio while having a full time job is to just buy bitcoins and hold them for as long as you can and that will surely make you happier with your gains than any other one you've ever had before.

i dont have much time during weekdays too, but it is easy if you have at least 5 minutes every two hours to check the market or all the charts in where you have some money invested.
It is not difficult if you are already acostumbrated to ussually do this, i am always checking the progress of bitcoin and how much does my portfolio worth, and always this forum too, and i do have a real job.
it is easy mate, you only need to be patient.

Yeah, I don't know why people spend their life daytrading, when they can have almost infinite free time by longterm investing instead.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I had decided to adjust my portfolio for long terms investment, primarily in Blue chips and alts that had potential - established team, well-delivered/realistic roadmap, consistent development as well a more discipline investment schedule, guess the ups and downs of day trading is too much for me to handle while maintaining good performance with my programming job.

Would consider buying some bots to interact/trade with exchange api sometime after a more extensive speculation , the road is still long to success is still long but achievable, good luck everyone!

I would like to salute OP for being able to juggle between a full time job and managing a portfolio. There's no doubt that you're having a hard time managing both because it takes up a lot of your time.

This is the most ideal - going for long term. You wouldn't have to monitor every now and then if this were the case. You would be able to dedicate most of your time to your full job even with a long term investment because you wouldn't have to check daily. Research on which coins to buy that are good for long term investment; that way, you wouldn't have buy and sell every now and then.

That's the strategy that I am using with juggling university. I spend as much time as I need to get top 10% grades in my courses and papers and spend the rest of my time researching promising long term investment candidates.

Has been working well so far. Very busy, but it seems to be paying off. And if this keeps going for another year I won't have to bother with a full-time job and will be able to focus on interesting projects myself instead, without having to worry about my finances.

Judging from my current situation, I think it's best for a fresh graduate to keep pursuing cryptoworld and treat it like a career too, most of my friends don't even bother graduating or making time for another fiat job as long there are shelter at least. I believe anyone could profit in crypto as long you have those mindset like a daily trader, researching is fun when there are huge potential for a big fat BTC wallet. Nothing is more satisfy than speculating green candles, even better than paycheck i must say.

It's not hard to sustain by trading if you are smart at speculating/predicting price movement, but choices are yours.

Although you have a point out there, you can not still rely on those tradings if you really want to be successful in your life or once dream about it, it is kinda sounds like you were just relying in a single income, but actually what you are trying to pursue is a good destination and goal, eventually you will meet so many people and characters just be  aware of that just in case, not everyone is your friend actually.

Sorry man but what you just said about trading not being possible to earn a full living is completely false. I made tons of money trading and also read about a guy who quit his $100,000+ annual salary job to do crypto trading full time because he was making so much from it.

If you are into short term trading, then you need to give apt time to it. No bots or websites can help you in that. You need to personally analyze the charts and market. Else you will always be late in party. Trading needs instant action and one should always be aware of latest updates of the coins one is in. You can't rely on bots or AI. Either be a full time trader as I believe one can easily make enough with trading if is good with TA or do longterm investments along with your job.

You are right somehow everyone could succeed in crypto trading with appropriate skills and perhaps some luck, i must say this cryptoworld was still booming and it's very likely to make most of it through daily trading.

Yeah for me it's also much more efficient to focus on long term investment plans than to actively trade every day/week.
Now I just have to spend one afternoon each month or so researching possible altcoins to invest in and review each investment every couple of months.

If you want to look into trade bots, I can recommend either a Haasbot beginner license (0.06 BTC per 3 months) or cryptotrader.org (0.003 BTC per month).

keep 40% of your investment in solid projects like BTC
30% on successors like ETH and LTC
Remaining 20% on Promising projects (great dev team and track record) with no product yet
Use 10% for day trade

The problem with daytrading is that it eats up a lot more time and nerves than longterm investing. It also adds significantly to the tax bill. And I want to be able to buy a house from my crypto profits in a year or two, which will be much easier by not daytrading, since I'll make more profit by paying less taxes when cashing out.
And having more time available for other things is always desirable. I don't like watching charts all day, I prefer programming a bot for this, but I'm not going to put any significant amount of money into algorithmic trading until I've perfected the expected returns and will be making more profits despite higher taxes.

A long term investment should be the most suitable for your case. Having a full time job is difficult in being up to date to cryptocurrency and if you are a trader, then it will be difficult for you to monitor the market. So that justifies than long term investment is best for you. That way, you'll not worry about missing some things out.

You know it's not that hard* if you are used to do trades. I too have lots of loads on hands in real life but still able to manage my portfolio. Believe me even you are hectic on your schedule there are lots of ways to manage your portfolio in terms of price monitoring. Of course you need to execute trades when you have time even you are busy but what matters here is , you know the price movement.

I can't give you a specific way as I believe you are the one who can think of a good way. Just try to explore out of your precious brain and soon you can make up a nice way to deal with your concern.

No one cant really give an specific way since we do have our own unique way on engaging into things. We are the only ones who do have idea on what times are most likely we are busy and which is not.Time management would really be crucial and if you are really serious on day trading then this thing would really be a tough job for you.Having a 9-5 job and a day trading will not really be an easy stuff.Time and focus will really be needed specially on price movements.Usually i do make use of blockfolio which most people are saying the same thing too.

DRIP (Dividend ReInvestment Plans) could be worth looking into. There could be documented cases of people retiring early off of them. Can't say I'm the most knowledgeable person on the topic. Don't know what their performance against inflation looks like or what the average ROI or statistics relating to success or failure are. I get the impression they're one of the most underrated trading strategies over the long term. It might be fair to compare DRIP to long term buying and holding btc. Definitely something I need to look into and research more.

Roth IRA's may be another go to over the long term with decent annual interest yields.

I don't know if there are any decent trading bots or entry level HFT algorithmic based trading. If there are any decent platforms they could be worth looking into. Competition in fiat investing could be too high for average investors. That's not a topic I know much about.

Yes exactly. It is all about the choice making. If someone, like the guy you are talking about, once think and confirmed that he will make bitcoin as the proper source of income then I think nothing is bad in it. You will have many chances along the way to make enough money that is even more than your salary in a month. Just decide what you have to do, keep that with you.

This. As long as people take sufficient cautionary countermeasures they will be fine with whatever they choose. There's no reason to follow traditional paths of "employment" if you can make enough money to support your life with other methods. Just don't scam or steal.

The best way to make and manage your own crypto portfolio is to know how the crypto funds and whales do this. There are thousand of reach whales and cryptoinvestors in the world who exectly knows which coin and at what price they need to buy and when to sell to be in good profit. How do they do this? Very easy - they all are suscribers of special reserch groups who monthly recommend new coin to their longterm portfolio and after this recommendation some coins start to grow, becouse millions of dollars go in this coin. CryptoCapital Research, Palm Beach, Delphi Digital all of them have thousends of reach subscribers and make every month new report with deep research https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5172143.0

That is the problem of many people who want to trade cryptocurrencies. They want to trade but their schedule is bery tight because of their day job. Proper time management can solve this problem. It is a good thing that cryptocurrency trading is open 24 hrs because there are markets like stock market that have specific trading time. Also seek different strategies that will fit to you even if you have day job.

People who are having a day job shouldn't trade in more than a couple coins as more coins in your portfolio means that you should be giving more time to study each and every one of those coins and this becomes very burdensome in long term. So what I suggest is that you should consider having only a couple of coins in your portfolio this makes it easier to follow them and also you will be having spare time for investing in family.

I would advice you against investing in fake promised projects, it is better to invest in top alts or in bitcoin rather than taking chances because in my experience these road maps and promises are hard to fulfill.

Would consider buying some bots to interact/trade with exchange api sometime after a more extensive speculation , the road is still long to success is still long but achievable, good luck everyone!
When it comes to using bots be extra careful setting up a stop loss as the market is really volatile and you need to be extra careful when putting the settings and the figures. Since you are not having the time to trade on a daily basis, go for the long term rather than risking it.

You can download a blockfolio app for your smartphone so you can monitor the prices of your cryptocurrency holdings and also the gains and losses. If you are holding your cryptocurrencies in an exchange then you should set a stop loss so you can minimize the potential loss for your investment and you can easily move on and try other cryptocurrency investment.

A better or wise idea for you to take.Diversifying is good but be sure on what coins you are considering into and come to think that
we do have thousands of coins in the market and most of them are total trash or sh*t. So just being sensible on where you should go
then go for the established and been mainly supported rather than to those low to have no value coins.Checking out your holdings doesnt
really consume much even if you do have a full time job.

First, you probably lack of any trading skills so don't even try to play the day/swing trader when you have no clue about what you're doing.

For the average trader, the best thing you can do is fix limits and stops, make a plan, how much you want to win and how much you're willing to lose.

I'm writing early purchase orders. I check whether the transactions have taken place during the day. And again I'm entering sales orders. It's hard to buy and sell daily. If you're working full-time, it makes sense to make longer-term plans.

I agree, more coins mean a headache to you unless you are not serious to gain. Trading is time-consuming too, as you have to make analysis and research on each coin. Also, add the factor that crypto trading is volatile and prices can change anytime being unexpected or beyond your analysis.

I think a full-time employee should make long-term plans. Short-term trading can be very difficult. Trade is already a difficult job. You need to concentrate on the constantly moving market all the time. Bitcoin is a very abrasive investment tool.

You need to have a solid portfolio in order for you to earn and at the same time having a full-time job in the field. The thing is that you need to have knowledge about trading because we all know that trading is a hard technique to earn cryptocurrency because there are small-term trading in which you can trade time by time and there is also a long term trading in which you are trading your token in a long period of time. In order for you to earn money that you desire, your portfolio has to be solid, and especially it must be secure so you should choose a trading site that is legit and secure.

If you have full time job, the first thing that you should do is to identify if you are swing trader, a momentum trader or a bounce trader. If you identify what type of trading are you, the second that you must do is to know what type of trading setups are you going to use that is suitable for you. You are busy in day because of your full time job so find a trading setups that are applicable to use even if you are not monitoring your portfolio. Managing it is really tough but I'm sure that you will get used to it.

Monitoring the prices are the challenges facing by many people who have full time job. Be a trend follower where you will only hold while the price of the coin is continuing to increase. Do not use also short term strategy because it is not applicable to your schedule.

But what if your job makes a lot of money than trading??? Is there a chance that you'll sacrifice trading? I know someone whose work range from $20,000 per month. Is that enough for you to give up trading and continue your passion at the same time earning salary.

Think wisely on what will you do because there are a lot of opportunity in this world and we should not waste them. I believe that professionals earn more money than trading.

That is definitely way to go, I mean if you invest into BTC-ETH-LTC-EOS type of coins you will not have to take a look at it that long, you just buy them and store them carefully and not do anything about them at all, that's it.

However, if you want to keep looking at some small ones then it will get trickier, you may not know whats going on in the team itself, I usually join the discords of these coins or slacks or telegrams whatever they have and talk with the team and get to know them better and see what they are doing to improve it, that takes a lot of time, it is not even that profitable neither because they look like they are doing something major most of the time but it fails, so all in all I feel like investing into the big important ones and not looking at it is the only way to go for someone busy.

Yeah, not easy to judge whether a project will be successful in the future or hard to get breakeven. The percentage like 10% good project and the rest out of question, just dont get involved. Bitcoin and some famous altcoins such as bch, eth, are the good options to invest in long-term, whenever bitcoin rises up, those coins more likely to follow bitcoin to rise as well.

We have our own way in trading process due to our different experiences. I definitely agree that monitoring is the most challenging part in which you need it a very long time in order to know the possible next move you are going to do and can have a possible good return. We all know that being part here is just a pastime , hoping to have a good return and just like in trading process that can be a full-time or a part time job.

You can download an application that is for managing your portfolio just like blockfolio. or if you are trading, just hold the stable coin, and you will be okay. I would suggest BTC, ETH and XRP those are my favourites coin. I am not monitoring them from time to time, because their price is stable and manageable if you have work or a class if you are a student. Or just simply hold Bitcoin if you don't really have time.

Since you have a full time job, there is high probability that you don't have much time to invest in managing your portfolio. So my suggestion is, you should only invest to the cryptocurrencies that are strong enough to stay in the market for years. Try some portfolio monitoring apps so you can check your holdings easily.

Blockfolio app is a big help so you can easily watch your coins. But you still limit your coins into 3 to 5. Holding more requires times when there are sudden pump and dump. People reacts when there are big pump and dumps. For me, I buy and sell when there are pump and dumps. There are many coins out there to replace another coin. Bitcoin is the only coin that I haven't tried selling it all.

This is the key to make good money in the crypto market. the more you spend time in the market, the more you learn about it and the more knowledge you have the more chances you have of buying right crypto currency on right time and selling it off when the rates are high to secure decent profit. If your laptop is not big in size, then do carry it with you during work and when you are free, visit your profile.

I have a full time job and theres no time for me to have access anytime or does have the vacant time on checking everything.
With my phone you can easy check on a snap on whats happening on your holdings. If you do see an opportunity to sell then thats the time
i do urgently go to a desktop.

I'd say it's almost impossible to work full time and trade coins. Most rallies are fast and don't even last a day. If you can login only on weekends like OP you will miss out on many opportunities. Probably the only option for you would be to install a mobile wallet with an option to sell your coins or keep them on an exchange with stop losses active all the time. Both of these aren't completely safe but it's better than nothing.

Or you could skip trading and go long term hodl. We're probably in the end of the accumulation phase for both bitcoin and altcoins so buying now to hold for another year could be a good decision.

I just got myself a new laptop, thinking that it would be a good investment if I carry it around work, so during the down time I can come here. Keep me more active in the crypto world.
There's a monitoring app that let you not waste your time staring at the computer 24/7 because it will alert you when price changing and hits certain price point that you have set before and that alone should actually help you save most of your time and not pointlessly staring at your monitor when just waiting for certain price change to happen and most of the smartphone nowadays is powerful enough for managing portfolio. Basically save you from all the hurdles and unnecessary things like that.

Well... it is not too hard, if you are not a day trader. Long term or medium term investment doesn't take too much effort or time, and you can manage your investments along your day job. But you can never adjust day trading with a full time job. Because it needs you to make split-second decisions and constantly keep track of the new developments in the market. No matter how flexible your employer is, if you do this during your office hours, then you may find yourself jobless very soon.

Short term position might not work for you because you have to be mind prepared in order to execute good decisions, securing long term might be better because you don’t have allocate of your time or regularly check your portfolio since you have a daily job.

You cannot do 2 jobs at the same time. Your full-time job takes up quite a bit of your time during the day and you will be tired home. You know, we all need a break after a long day at work, but trading and portfolio management is stressful. so that's why you can't control it well. My advice is that you should take 3 days off to travel and find out what kind of job is right for you. If you are a risky trader and make a lot of money, you should consider your full time job. People only work best when they can do what they like.

Trading and profiting without knowing the markets or being aware of moves is pure luck and speculation. Holding bitcoin and selling on really huge spikes might be an option to buy back low but if we look at history just by holding long term one would do great with countless 0's % profit thing you hardly can see on classic markets.
Shitcoins are mostly a waste of time and money excluding eth, xmr and a very few more.

You don't need to observe the market in real time. Why? You're not a trader. Of course you shouldn't think about your portfolio at all during work. I think that's not professional.

You should only buy for holding, not for trading. Don't mind the moves in a lower time frame. Look for under-valued coin (if there's any), buy them, and just watch the price once a day, after work, and evaluate whether you want to keep holding it or sell.

first of all , you are not really that bad in english  . second of all , your schedule is so hectic and i suggest is better not stress your self on those trades but better if you can only foccus on what your doing right now if you think that they are more important than what you will be getting on crypto trades  .  lastly if you still insist to multi task  , there are so many apps on the web that can help you automate or get instant updates regarding on your portfollio  , i forget thier names but you can search them on google and test which work better for you

Turn on your notifications. You don't need to be on the lookout for trends all the time. Most traders here do have full time jobs. On your free time, you then backtrack on previous movements and it's possible it's still linked to current events. Then set up reasonable buy and sell orders based on what you've studied during your free time. It should work for you by itself. Just make sure that you manage your expectations well.

Why not? Just because you're thinking something while at work then it isn't professional. As long as it doesn't affect the work load then it's fine.  ;D

Likely, just use blockfolio app if you're just observing the market. You can put the quantity of your token otherwise you can set an alarm for a certain token if you want to trade on that amount. Or if you're a daily trader then use bots but this should be done with keen researching and experience as well.

I agree. It is about the output or the result of your work. As long as you can deliver on what the company demanded then there is nothing wrong to multi-task. It is a good news to know that there are people who are working on their dreams and multi-tasking while they are at work and after from work because that is the true dedication that a success requires.

I agree that profit management when we are a short and medium term investor will never be too difficult, but besides that, even if we are a day trader, it is not is a big problem, the difficulty level is only slightly improved because of a full-time job, it also has plenty of time to rest, we can use that to manage and observe prices. And if you're worried about quick decisions and timely adjustments, exchanges already have the tools to set up profits and losses, which solve those problems for us, it is important that we establish how we can best manage our profits

There is nothing to manage. You buy and spend, that is it.  How be able to full fill my thirst about cryptocurrenies technology is different and way more interesting subject to talk about.

That depends on your job

For example, if you are a neurosurgeon, then thinking about your cryptocurrency portfolio while performing a brain surgery may not be the best idea after all (even if it seemingly doesn't affect your "workload"). Regarding questions raised by OP, I think the best approach is to change his timeframes, i.e. to switch to longer-term trading. In this case, checking the market once or twice a day will suffice (say, in the morning and before bed, though before bed can give one a sleepless night)

Commonly has been suggested is to use blockfolio app and that was right. I also used this and regularly monitored my crypto trading. But I did not worry about it very well because I am also using an auto trading bot and when it will pump up the price, the auto sell will work.
If that is a full time job I won't suggest doing in trading because you can't execute very well if you have a lot of work to do than trading. Because it is spending a lot of time when you are digging information on which altcoins that have the potential to pick.

You can spend at least 1-3 hours of your time to study the market and also to enhance your knowledge and skills in trading so once you got good in choosing which altcoin to trade then it would be easy for you to do some trades while you have a full time job.

Actually, you're still fortunate to have a bot which automatically sell your coins when the price pumps because most of the time traders really give the majority of their day looking at their monitor and watch the merket trend and only depending purely on their own trading skills. By the way, thanks for your realization and advice to us, now I even more realized that daytrading is not for me at this moment lol (but very soon for sure).

Okay let's say you have an 8-hour job which starts from 8 in the morning to 4 p.m., then you said that a certain investor should at least vacant his 3 hours for studying crypto. Well, that's good in a sense that seeking for knowledge never harms us humans :) but how about your household chores, your food preparations, your family time, your leisure time? Imagine, you go home tired and you will sleep tired. But well I guess that's how life works :D, and it's better to do such thing than doing not productive things.

in my opinion if you have a full time job then you should use crypto for long term investment. long-term investment does not require special attention. You can see prices every weekend. or you can also check prices every night before going to bed. for someone who has a real job I think is not suitable if doing daily trading. because daily trading requires concentration and focus and we also have to make quick and right decisions. if you work in an office of course you will not be able to do that because you also have to finish your work in the office. so it's better to make long-term investments.

I believe that in certain situations you can’t rely on a trading bot because you risk losing your funds.  In any case, even Bot needs to be controlled, and for this you need to have enough free time.  If someone has a full-time working day and at the same time hopes to get a profit from his portfolio, then everything will depend primarily on the volume of coins that are in your portfolio.  Moreover, I think that no one is hoping easy to make a profit from cryptocurrency, because you have to work harder and work harder, while spending more free time.  ;)

there are jobs that can be done with lesser time and this suites traders the most if they do want to allocate more time on thier trading career but still working on a real job full time would be a better idea so that you can earn big and secure profits than what youl be getting on trading  . trading profits takes time so we must not take it seriously but we can just enjoy it as a hobby to avoid boredom and depresions  . there are app that can automate the job ( managing portfolio ) but real human supervision is still better i think  .

Yes bots are risky but so is trading especially when your very emotional and ending up doing a lot of mistakes, so i decided why not just create a bot that automates your trade, i mean bots doesn't have emotions. Yes, there are risk in using bots that's why im going to test it with small of amount of crypto first to make it fully functional. Also paying websites like Etoro is good but i dont have money to pay services like that, so that's why im building my bot on my own to save also some money.

I understand that you have lost some money trying to do day trading, there is no luck involved, the decision to make money in a short period of time always back fires and if you have that mind set then you will not end up loosing, i am doing a regular job as well as holding some coins in my wallet and i trade when ever i feel like doing or i see some uncertainty in the market. I am not having a huge portfolio but having a few coins and trade every now and then and it is my conscious decision and it has nothing to do with luck :P.

If you have a full time job, then day trading is not for you. You should be investing and trading cryptocurrency for a long term and you the little time you get on weekends to do some research and know where things are really heading to, then you can make decisions as well. And I don't think you really need to be investing in a lot of coins, just choose a few good ones, including Bitcoin and you're good, no need for the long portfolio.

If you don't want to worry too much about price fluctuation, then you should stop investing in volatile coins and go for the stable ones. The thing with the stable coins is that you're not going to be making profit as you would in volatile ones, and no loss as well, that's the good thing lol.

I suggest that you go easy on trading, but rather start investing. Think of them like shares on a stock market, you invest on some conpany because you believe in their future success. Same applies to cryptocurrency, you should start looking in the long term, but still must be updated of the latest trends and news regarding cryptocurrencies. In that way, you minimize the stress brought by dumps, have more time to do your job and to relax a little bit, and just sell when you think it won't go higher anymore.

Weekends: More active than usual but time is limited  :-\

You only need time management, that is the solution for your problem, though it is pretty stressful for me to have that 9-5 shift of yours every weekdays and you're trading in the weekends, you have to decide what is the better opportunity for you, your regular job or your trading cryptocurrency job, if I were you I would focus on Trading (if you earn good at it) and I'm going to keep your job if I were you if you don't know that much in Trading and not interested on learning it.

But let me tell you this, if you have enough savings, go for full time Trading, learn a lot of stuffs and just do freelancing, that way you could manage your time much better and you will earn better too.

It's hard to buy and sell Bitcoin when you're doing a full-time job. The Bitcoin market is a live 24/7 market. A full-time employee should pay attention to his sleep patterns. It's not easy. I think it makes sense to make a long-term purchase and wait.

That would be a best thing to do since if you can't afford to trade since you are lacking of time then trading is no good for you and we need to consider those fundamentals since we might  gonna lose if we are just trading without knowledge or rely on bots. But I cannot risk to leave my regular job just to trade since trading is not actually a best solution for us to gain since there are some instance that faith is not with us and losing streaks will occur that's why much better to do this as side job and trade only on free time so that no pressure will occur and chances to win is great.

Weekends: More active than usual but time is limited  :-\

maybe it would be more suitable when trading long-term, or investing, so we don't need to monitor prices all the time. trading daily is more risky because we must have the expertise to analyze movements in the near future. and that means we have to take the time, don't push yourself, because it will attack our psychological

It's hard to buy and sell Bitcoin when you're doing a full-time job. The Bitcoin market is a live 24/7 market. A full-time employee should pay attention to his sleep patterns. It's not easy. I think it makes sense to make a long-term purchase and wait.
Totally agreed on that.
But only I'd add that you can hire some trader to do it instead of yourself, only if your crypto funds are really valuable for short trading.

I agree with this. For people who don't really have time to spare in monitoring their portfolio daily then they should choose long term investing because it doesn't require too much attention for its investors because you can try dollar cost averaging which is effortless type of investing where you will buy a fixed amount of coin or token regularly.

in my opinion you can still invest crypto even though you work full time in the office. You can choose several coins that are suitable for long-term investments such as bitcoin and ethereum. and you can check prices before and after work. buy at low prices and then sell when the coins have increased 30% or 40%. keep calm and finish work at the office well. Only after returning home can you focus on cryptocurrency.

Based on my experienced, i have been able to manage my portfolio efficiently while having a full time job by picking coins that are good for long-term investment like bitcoin and other top altcoins in the market like ETH, so that i don't need to look so often just to check their price and i can check them before or after work and break time.

If you are having a full time 9-5 job then best for you is to do long term investment and refrain from day trading. As trading requires you to it whole day in front of your laptop, looking for gains. I have a job also, I only buy when market is at dip and hold. for me seeing the market once in a day for 5 to 10 minutes is enough.

I do manage my portfolio efficiently while having a full time job by just going for long term investment within my portfolio, and the best example is buying a bitcoin because i don't need to put a lot of time and effort just to monitor it everyday that i can only do it weekly or monthly.

I also believe in the pairing of investments into crypto currencies as well as in real life investment markets or fiat/ conventional investments such as stock market, real estate etc. pairing up of these two readily increases the chances of profit and decrease probability of losses. 70 to 60% of your investment money shall go in bitcoin and rest you can go with conventional market.

Stop doing trading and just invest and hodl for a long term, as long as you have this kind of situation, you will mismanage your portfolio and this is not good for your investment, just pick the right coin and hodl it, we all know there is a huge rewards hodling good coins.

It is most of the choice of those who have the main job outside. Just like you, every day I only look and watch the market for about 30 minutes is enough because I choose to invest in the medium and long term. It does not take up too much of my time during the day and I still guarantee a profit when making such investment

If you could automate what you are looking for in a coin then the job gets easier. You just have a list of what you want from a coin and if there is a coin you see that hits those targets you will be capable of buying it, if it doesn't then you won't, if any of the coins you already have goes out of that list you sell it. It is really simple if you have a rigid trading pattern and very strong list of requirements for you to have a certain coin in your portfolio.

But, like everyone said, having a long term plan is much better if you do not have proper time. During the time I first got married I was just holding bitcoin and nothing else and just hold it because it was really a busy time with work and marriage and preparing for the wedding and house and so forth.

What I do is that I prefer swing trading or medium term trading along with day job. The reason being such trades need less attention every day or every hour. I am usually active at weekend. But I do keep a watch over the price while working. I have kept notification system for the stop loss or some uneven price change which keeps me updated and I don't need to check my phone again and again.

Also, because of my day job, I keep on putting some extra money monthly from my salary with that I have grown my portfolio gradually.

There is really no reason to have your eyes on your portfolio all the time, just buy some good coins with just a little amount and then focus on your job and other things you would like to do. Before you invest in any coin is good that you do analysis of that coin and understand what's likely to happen in the next few months or so, that way you can determine how long you will be holding it in your wallet.

Bitcoin is already a good choice, and others are Ethereum, Ripple and other top coins you can find in the market, though they have been kind of disappointing, except BTC. Just invest in a good coin and you can chill till the right time.

If you want to build a solid portfolio then make sure that you will buy potential coins. What do I mean potential coins? It is the coin that are not easy dump and can survive in the market. I also have a full time job but monitoring is not my problem because I bought the best coin in the market. As a momentum trader, I can make profit even if I have day job but sometimes I also lose because losses are inevitable.

I also got a lot of similar questions from my friends when they were learning to trade. then my answer is that you should decide which job you want to stick with the longest and which one makes you feel happiest and most comfortable. If your full-time job is putting pressure and making your everyday life boring, you should quit. Trading is one of the jobs that requires perseverance, patience, a clear mind to analyze the market as best as possible. so you can only do it well when you are fully focused on it.
This is not textbook, I've been through this. In the past, I used to work partime and trade to pay for fees. But the result is that both jobs are not productive. we should just choose one. ;)

It's hard to multitask. Doing different things at the same time especially if you have a full time job outside crypto but you just need a proper and wise time management. But if you're still having a hard time, instead of short term, just do long term investment. I think you can manage your time properly with that. Also you have to know your priorities. If you're already doing it for a long time, you'll get used to it and you'll master how to allocate your time with things.

You don't need to allocate most of your time just to have a good time management skills. You just need to have a self-discipline and also a list of the things that you needed to do in a day. Rank them from your top to least priority and that is when you will be setting a specific hours of work to accomplish each task. Do that planning before you go to bed so once you wake up in the morning, you are good to go.

You can also work in a full-time job. How many hours do you work. People live in different countries according to different working hours. In developed countries less hours are worked. In developing or underdeveloped countries, they remain more at work. For portfolio management, you need to allocate some time to analyze the market.

You can definitely pair up management of your portfolio with full time job by allocating particular time of your day for it. Best is to look at your profile during the break when you are on job and before going to bed, spend one hour on your portfolio. Plus I will recommend him not going for day trading with full time job because it really becomes hectic for the person. Long term trading strengthens your finances.

Having long term investment portfolio isn't that time consuming but still it demands your efforts and focus and sometimes daily works and obligations take you away. Day trading and short term investment are almost impossibe when you have regular work and long term investment and trading is possible but the key is to find the right balance.

A person who works 5 hours a day can invest in this market. However, a person working 8 hours or more per day cannot invest in this market. Because this market is consuming one's energy. So tiring. Operations continue every minute. This is really hard to achieve.

If you are talking about day trading, then I have to agree with you. Doing day trade along with a full time job is next to impossible. If you do that, then the chances are that you will fail in both. On the other hand, it is perfectly OK to indulge in long-term investment along with a full time job. Because the research and analysis needed for such investment can be done during the spare time you get between the full-time job.

Trade only at times you think it’s best, it’s not necessary that we will do trading daily, all we need is to trade when we see the potential to gain in that alt or think whether that alt is for long term or short term. Just try to be updated at least on charts of your holdings then you will realize that it’s time to trade it.

right, if we do not have much time to trade, maybe long-term trading can be an option, because this does not take up our time to do other activities. especially short-term trading requires a good analysis because fluctuations can take our capital

I can't say about day trading or short term investment (as I have limited experience working with them) but if you are a hodler (long term investor) then having a look at the market once a day is good enough. If you have a job then you can still participate in crypto trading with confidence.

Looking at profile when you have break works well too but the real time for the analysis of market and buying and selling shall be located in the hours when you are at home and most importantly relaxed. Sitting in front of laptop with tired mind will not help you in taking right decisions on time rather such decisions will drive you to more trouble. Before going to bed, decide two hours for daily trading.

make sure to keep providing time online twice a day with a note should be able to increase understanding of weekly charts that are connected with trends. You do not have to think about what targets can be achieved every day, and still target profit within the limits of active support and resistance. don't panic if the assets are floating for more than 4 days if the weekly chart is still the same as before, there is still potential for a reversal, this is more on how you can be consistent in the same strategy.

why would you worry about it when you can automate things, exchanges are easy to manage. you can always use the stoploss and take profit after analyzing the charts, but i wouldn't try analyzing at weekends. though the crypto market works 247 other market stops during weekend. it just play along with these markets to see volume by their sessions. when it comes to money i would just ignore the weary eyes, its for your own good. work with it.

You talking about holding coins in the exchange, where you will set up your sell order and if it's get executed it's cool you have your money, if not you just wait longer. But holding coins in the exchange is not secure, you can stay without your coins.
I think that long term portfolio doesn't need to be managed, you buy the coin, you store it and you open it in a few years. You don't care about tops and bottoms, you wait for the entire industry to lift off.

With Portfolio development creation for Cryptocurrency isn't a big issue. It can be dealt easily, if one isn't comfortable with these applications can make use of the portfolio management tools available with the respective exchange.

Actually saving your money in exchange "temporarily" until they sell or buy order executed is okay and most of the traders do that, though for a long term investor it's indeed discouraged to do that.
I agree with portfolio doesn't need to be managed everytime, people are confusing trading with long term investment. for long term investment managing portfolio is probably the last thing they'd do in "short time" but instead they just leave it be.

When your portfolio is only for top coins, I think the monitoring is not necessary to that extent, it is different if you want to get a quick profit then buying any coins there then it must always be monitored. If that's the case, then back again about your goal, do you really just want a quick profit or are you just holding a token which basically won't be good to hold on too long.

It has never been easy combining crypto related jobs with day time job. Working in the blockchain industry requires some form of dedication of time and energy and also the crypto world is very fast. If i were you i would advise you not to go in for short term investments but rather go for long term ones. You are likely to miss the short term ones when they rise. You can also set timers and notifications as well just to remind you of some of your investment plans.

Day trading isn't really for those people who are taking crypto trading as a part time job because if you do and encounter some problems it might affect your full time job and worse case you can get fired so better to allot a time where you'll do some research on what coins can you go for long term investment and then focus on your work and check it every weekends or whatever you like to check it.

Take it easy there, why full time job and trading are not a good combination? What is good about crypto it works 24/7, you can find some time for trading, you can set up buy or sell orders from your android, you can adjust your time with some trading strategies, cause it's a huge new world and you can make a perfect combination that will suit your timing, I'm sure in that, anyone can do that.
To be clear on one thing, when you like something, when you wish to get more involved, you will find some time, you will find a way, or you will be full of excuses!

I agree with this. You should not forced yourself to do trading while you have a valuable day job because it might not be the best for you in terms of productivity and the output that you potential giving to the company. I also agree that it is better to go long term trading because it will give you space and time in order for your portfolio to grow and it is easier to balance job and long term trading.

Definitely. It's like asking a person if he will quit his job to do full time with trading which is not that worth. If I were asked by the question " How to manage trading/portfolio while having a job" I'd say don't make me fool I know my priorities. Mostly an actual job will take 8 hours a day, so there is so much left to your day time to manage your portfolio. The key on managing efficiently is a well fit time management.

Find an exchange that have good features like have automatic cut loss and many more. It is hard to manage a trade if you have full time job. You will not worry on your current position if you will use an exchange that have automatic cut loss. Our portfolio should also full of cryptocurrencies with highest daily volume and market capitalization for us to guarantee that we are not trading a shitcoin. It will lessen the time that we can have if we portfolio that consists of potential coins.

One way or another, the cryptocurrency user will still have to find free time to pay attention to his portfolio regardless of the availability of permanent employment.  Personally, I do not want to hire a broker at all, because there is always a danger of fraud, and I also do not want to transfer all my funds to some kind of exchange in order to set an upper price threshold for a profitable sale of my assets.  There is always a risk of not only fraud, but also theft, as well as hacking of an account, even in reputable exchangers.

Those who pair up day trading with full time job appear alien to me because this is nothing easy at all. This is simply like playing with fire and you can get burnt anytime if you miss the opportunity of buying or selling a coin. It demands you to stay online and examine your portfolio deeply by keeping an eagle eye on the market movements of prices. Day trading in itself is a full time job if you want profits.

It depends on the work you do.

Nevertheless, long term investment would be best for you.

If your job gives free time between 9-5, you could use it to manage your portfolio. Like, you can be using your portable device to do that.

Your evenings too are also good times to harness.

You’ve got to sit down and think about the free time you do have in a week. Then, look at the devices you can use to monitor your portfolios. From this, you should be able to create a better time schedule for your portfolio.

Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english  :(

the most efficient way would be to sell your portfolio and buy bitcoin :)
a coin basket is riskier and way more troublesome to maintain and check
since you already have apps installed , I can suggest a couple alternatives :
https://cointracking.info/
https://delta.app/en
https://gem.co/

Gem is free and good , I ' ve been using cointracking too , for a brief period of time
all in all I find the trackers a bit redundant as I don't have time to watch and analyze data , probably same as you - not enough free time

Agree, working 9-5 isn't suited for short term trading you'd better go with long term investment because anything can happen during that time whether the price goes up or down and you're literally losing the chance.

Perhaps weekly trading is good for those who have a 9-5 job so they can focus on their portfolio. I was in that situation and it's hard to do when your job requires high concentration and not allowed to use a smartphone or computer while working.

Need to set stop limits so you can adjust assets automatically.

actually it can still run smoothly if it is always progressively monitoring the daily candle, but our main work is indeed consuming a lot of attention. I can always make time every night, but often it's still not optimal because of fatigue. maybe it's time to consider using a trading bot service.

I just got myself a new laptop, thinking that it would be a good investment if I carry it around work, so during the down time I can come here. Keep me more active in the crypto world.

Unfortunately my strategy hasn't been working too well. I need to step up my game.

Every exchange supports all platforms. This gives anywhere access to the exchange on the go without much complications through the mobile. This helps in going through the holdings and managing the portfolio in a much efficient way. All that required is to add all available cryptocurrencies to the list. With the varying market the portfolio value will also vary. Going through this we can easily make changes to the portfolio than making hand calculations.

There are trading platform that is really useful where you can have convenient trade. There are traders who cannot manage their trades because they are using platform that have less features. I have a full time job like you and I use trading platform that have automatic cut loss where I do not worry even if the price of the coin that I have is goes down.

If you have a good job and you’re getting paid enough why not just focus on your job and use bitcoin as an investment?

You can just invest your money in Bitcoin and any other altcoins of your choice and then hold it for a long time and when the prices goes up you will start making profit. Ethereum has been performing good recently and that includes Bitcoin, both of them had increase today and BTC was the best performing asset as of 2019, so investing in them as a long term will benefit.

If you still want to be day trading , then that’s your choice, but it takes a lot of work and study to become good at day trading.

Very well said mate. What you have stated is correct. For me if you have a full time job and you still want to continue trading because you enjoyed trading here in the crypto world. You should manage your time like for example you will go to your work in the morning while in the evening you will continue your trading before you sleep just like that because that's what I am doing right now. I want my full time job but I also want my trading life here thats why I am balancing my time to do this 2 particular task everyday.

if you have a full time job, you can not follow the market every minute. so it is very riskly to try daily trades in this case. you can have a look for long term projects and try to invest in them. But still it is better to use stop limit not to loose so much.

Full online traders collect assets as often as possible from the percentage of 1% profit earned many times, but in the end it still aims for the same total percentage, for example 10%. If we don't have time for that, then we can set the same total in one order that can be checked 1-2 times, but with conditions where we have to know the trends that occur and be analyzed according to the daily chart.

If you are simply investing in cryptocurrency for the medium or long term, you can check asset prices and the state of your investment portfolio every few days. I don't see any problem with that. But if you want to combine day trading with normal offline work, you will not succeed, because day trading involves being at the computer for several hours a day.

I agree with that. Day trading is not for the people who have a regular job because it is so risky since you are betting a big capital for quick bucks in a day. In just a few minutes of being inactive from the market, you can lose a lot of money. Better focus on long term investing which will give you decent profit with lower risk and less effort required.

The company has been going on for quite some time, and if you believe the manager, it will go at least until the end of January, because according to him the yobit paid him another month of work.
In fact, the question of when the company will end worries many, but so far it will be profitable for the yobit to advertise on the Bitcoin market.

I only hold Bitcoin and stablecoins and one coin I have a decent bag of which I trade. I just check the market once a day for the coin I trade and on my days off, I might do some scalping. Otherwise, I am primarily swing trading and growing more Bitcoin as well as more of this coin, so I can trade an even bigger bag every month. This way I can win bigger even on smaller percentages and spreads, thus earning more and more each month, over and on top of my monthly basic salary. I do like to trade though now, as opposed to just hodling.

my experience when working full time and limited observing the crypto market is to use free time on the job to trade. my work has 12 hours of work. but more time to standby. if you have intense hours of work. maybe you can use an app like a TABTRADER/zTrader. which application has an alarm for notifications of an executed order or a price tag that we want. so we don't need to check our portfolio all the time. order our portfolio, set alarms, and let the app work. Open when there is an incoming notification. and execute.

indeed it is difficult to divide time in day trading when we work, in addition to not having full control in trading the focus on permanent work that he does can also be disrupted. choosing long-term trading is the only way that both can be done and can be more calm not to disturb the regular work that must be done every day

Using an app is somewhat beneficial yet this would only alert you if a certain price been hit up which it doesnt need for you to be active or need to check from time to time.I also tried tried this up and its convenient and stress free.Checking would be usually if you do have a vacant time and as you said where standby time will vary on what kind of job you do have on and if you do have that busy type of work then most likely you cant have the chance on checking it out but getting your phone into your pocket doesnt really cost much time and anytime there are alerts then you already knew on whats happening.

If you really want to make money through trading then you will always have motivation to work even you are tired from work. You should keep hustling until you get what you want. Learn to budget your time so you can still have time to rest to be productive for the next day.

indeed it is difficult to divide time in day trading when we work, in addition to not having full control in trading the focus on permanent work that he does can also be disrupted. choosing long-term trading is the only way that both can be done and can be more calm not to disturb the regular work that must be done every day

It's hard to keep the balance between full time job and trading. It's always that other one that distracts you and if you are not commited fully you will not have good results in neither of them. So if you don't have intention to quit your daily job or get fired it's better that you choose type of trading that is not so demanding on.a daily basis.
I agree that long term trading could be solution but you will also need to count on lower profit.

Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english  :(
Even if there is any app that supports you, you will not be good at it. how can you focus on managing your portfolio when you are doing another job? Our brains only function well and make the right decisions when we are fully focused on one thing and as alert as possible. I used to work full time and also trade like you but really it was very influential. We get tired and stressed early, so it's best to do one job at a time. Or we can determine the value of a coin bought and hold it for a long time, we will not be affected too much.

Trading and your full time job can be possible to do when it comes to multitasking. Your time should be balanced if you really wanted to do trading while doing your full time job like for example during the office hours, you're doing your job inside the office and then during the lunch brdak and coffee break you can post or trade for a while and then if the break time ends, you go back to your work and finish trading at home.

indeed trading that I know does not really need a lot of time and there is still a lot of time left that you can use to work in the real world, when you trade you can buy coins and after that you make sell orders at high prices so when you are working and without you knowing the price of cryptocurrency in the market has increased prices then you do not miss to sell your assets at high prices.

At first, it is hard to manage your portfolio efficiently while having a full time job because i don't know where to focus, that is why i started to train myself to manage my time at work and in my trading. So i decided to trade for a long term that i don't need to check it daily, only for weekly or monthly for me to have a focus on my real time job.

Trading and having full time job isn't not a big task, because these days different applications are there to serve the portfolio development with ease. Day job will be fun filled, and when you consider trading to give similar earning as day job then it is difficult even with the help of applications. When it comes to trading time spend in analyzing and predicting the growth is the one that keeps the portfolio strong relative to the market coincidence with the real growth.

If you have a full-time job, you should first identify if you're a swing trader, momentum trader, or bounce trader. Once you decide what kind of trading you are, the second thing you need to do is to know what kind of trading setups you're going to use to match you. Due to your full-time job, you are busy in the day so you can find a trading setup that can be used even if you don't monitor your portfolio. It's really hard to manage, but I'm sure you'll get used to it.

But the only thing he can do is to on alarm from his notification where he can notice if he gonna hold his token or gonna sell but it was too hard to trade if you have a full time. I suggested to use top 10 coins instead for make you less risk from dumping the coin too much.

If you have to concentrate completely on your job for whole day then it will be hard to trade, I used to do this using Blockfolio app with alerts put on to target prices according to what I feel is support and resistance. I have also put alerts on prices of different exchanges where I believe the pumps or dumps happen earlier than bigger exchanges. Its not easy to do that, but can do if you have all the exchange apps on mobile.

Exchange apps, alarms, reminders and all notification devices can help you to deal with this matter. Beside these things, your personal knowledge about the business is also very important. That knowledge will help you to put notifications for pumps and dumps, than that alerts will help you further. If the nature of your job is very tough than it will be hard for you to manage both things.

I don't think it makes sense to trade "full-time" when you are already occupied by a regular job. In that case I would prefer to fire and forget, meaning buy and hodl without really thinking of it.

I noticed many of my hard working friends lost a pile of money by not transferring fork coins immediately to BTC or just skipping other airdrops and thinks that require some attention and passion. So there is a cost to everything I guess.

Besides it is not really necessary to become a full time trader, you can make a lot of money by just watching bitcoin at the end of your day and taking a decision based on what you see, this means you are going to hold your trades for months but that is fine since you are going to become very profitable with a minimum amount of effort and that is something that many of us have been looking for a very long time and trading is one of the few activities that can help us fulfil that goal.

If you are a trader it is very important to get fast and accurate information to monitor your coin movements.
I use the blockfolio app, very good to use and complete with interesting information.
The application I use trader is Z trader.

Yes, for you to be successful in this trade, you have to create time to be abreast of necessary information on your coin movement, if not you may have a lot losses. The app is available to help you monitor while it update you at every moment, and at this, you must still create time to follow the App in order to achieve a meaningful trade.you can't eat your cake and have it.

It is true that the difficulty for traders who have full time jobs is to manage time efficiently in order to get maximum results.
In my view if on weekdays the time feels very crowded, because the focus is on the main work. So from that when weekdays try
optimize apps in the Google Store to be used on your smartphones, such as the Tab Trader which can monitor market prices easily.
Because if we open a smartphone it won't take a lot of time. And for weekends it's easier to manage time because it's a holiday,
there should be no problem. Or if you want to really easily manage your time, you can trade long-term it is very doable by
busy people though.

it applies to daily trading, where we must always monitor price developments, unfortunately few people can concentrate on two things simultaneously, so for those who are busy concentrating on offline work I think they can choose medium or long term trading

There is a misconception about being full time trader, they thought that full time trading is required to monitor that market everytime. I'm a full time trade and I also have day job. I can manage those both at the same time because I commitment and passion. Even if I have day job, I can still focus in trading because I have alerts where I can be updated every time in the market. But for those who want to have advance technical analysis skill, it is better if you will allocate morr time in studying about trading.

Okay so when we talk about portfolios we can think about the fact that the holidays are a great time to enter some projects , you can even go abroad and invest some money into it , at the same time in your own company you can state your intentions and then actively participate and get the pass from your seniors .
You could also work in various projects in your same job because jobs are not just limited to doing the desk work , just like the university you just need to earn some credits .

Well, opinions may vary

As this is likely not what what most people picture when they are talking about being a full-time trader. As I'm inclined to think, they mostly refer to this idea or situation in the sense of making a living out of it. Indeed, that doesn't mean you should be glued to the screen all day long (as most successful traders are definitely not) but you could still rightfully call it your full-time job, and even beyond that (more like lifetime passion, "true calling")

well, I really agree if the vacation time from work can be used to recap everything that has been purchased so that you will know your portfolio, but I think a more efficient time is when you finish work, set aside a little time to recap your trading within a day and when the end of the month You can calculate profit and loss for 1 full month.

Easy and efficient way to mangae the portfolio is just hold leading potentioal coins,Trade coins for long term with using TP and SL. Long term trade minimize the pressure you just put a trade and look at free time the position of trade.
Day trading is not for who are 9-5 job holders because day time trading need attention and more time to get expected results.

Having a full time job while investing is hard to manage, considering the volatility of crypto currency that cause its price to change anytime. Regarding with the said problem,it is better to invest in coins that are less likely to change its price in a rapid pace and has less chance for its price to decrease. But, be sure to always secure your investments, for it is hard to focus on two things at the same time like your job and investments in the crypto world.

Bitcoin has a lot of potential in this coming month because of the halving, you might want to consider investing and holding it.

Agree. if you dont have enough time to follow graphs and daily news, it is very risky to make daily tradings. it is better to hold good cryptos instead is the best.

if we have limited time then we should only hold good coins for long-term investment. like bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin. then we make targets at what level we will increase or at what percentage we will buy down. I think this is not too difficult to do. and occasionally during the hour of our break we can also see the movement of coin prices.

Daily trading plus having a full time job is a burning money. It is required to monitor the trades from time to time and if lacks of time better not proceed with the plan. I prefer to buy crypto or stocks that doesn't have to be monitored all of the time, while working with some other things, I can get back to it and look how much it have grown. The strategy is like planting a seed and water it for a while, get back to it then harvest if it's necessary. Daily trading isn't for everybody but it's also free to everyone that wants to try it.

that's what one should do if they have a full time job other than trying to become a full trader. you don't even have to use that coinalarm suggested by OP to observe portfolio in real time but just having an exchange mobile app will work. just having a sell order with your target price for your profit taking. i have this done to some altcoins that don't monitor a lot because i'm more focused on BTC trading that i do everyday while also have a day job.

I also have a job and my Bitcoin Investment is usually on a long term. I use different wallets because I am not the type that likes relying only on one wallet due to lack of trust. But when it comes giving notifications on prices, Coinbase wallet app does the job perfectly for me.

I check in only when I have the time, the notifications from the app usually helps me know where the price of the assets I bought are really heading. And I also like the fact that my phone has a pretty good lock screen notification display, so whenever I get the notification from the app it just pops up and I look at it and continue the work I’m doing.

That's nice if you are having a job then it is good to trade for long term and also work in your office. When you want to trade for day you will have to quit your job and pay fully attention towards trading so using both needs proper time managment. Right now i am long term holder and also I am trading for long term to get good profit along with my other job.

You’re not the only one that is in this kind of situation, I’m also facing the same. I still have a job that I’m doing and I go to work eight in the morning and I stay at the office from then till six in the evening and I start going. By the time I get home I always feel tired and the most important in my mind is to cook food, eat and go to sleep so I can wake up early the next day. The only day I don’t go to work is on Sundays, but still I will have to go to church lol and return by twelve in the afternoon.

Lots of things keep taking up my time and the decision I have made is to just invest what I ever I’m ready to lose, whether I lose or make profit I will take it.

If you have "normal" people job (office job, having to transport daily back and forth, use a car, etc) I would strongly suggest you become independent like freelancers, but considering that freelancers need to be disciplined with their time and well organized if you want to become a successful one!

Many people are shifting to that style of work, work from home. To change that all starts with the firm idea in mind first!

First of all, I don't think that it is very intelligent to accumulate dozens of different cryptocurrencies. It will be better to concentrate on a handful of different coins, especially if you have a full time job. Apart from that, you need to track the new developments regarding various cryptocurrencies which you are holding. For this, you need to regularly check various crypto news sites.

That is true, managing many different coins is a time consuming, it is better to focus on projects we believe and we can see that those projects are having real use cases with community support and community-oriented problem solutions.

I'm not sure about that because when you first made the choice of several cryptos and the project that was invested at least you have research so you have a portfolio there, so you can have a target when the right time to go back and check what happened and me do not feel the need to check it every day because early research that will make you manage it more simply but with the ultimate goal which of course is accompanied by good confidence.

Confidence is a matter but it is not enough to earn profit while having full time job. We should know what we are doing, we should be aware to the cryptocurrencies that have potential in the market. For those who have full time job, invest in cryptocurrencies where its market is an uptrend. The price moves in trends and we should not buy cryptos that are downtrend because 100% sure that it will go down more.

There are some application out there that lets you check the current price of a specific coin in just one click. It will help you a lot to decide what coin you should avail or invest. It will also help you to predict the next price movement of that coin that will for surely gonna help you in your trading career. You can try to check the blockfolio app. That is good for monitoring cryptocurrency market price movement.

Personally, I think the whole question is a little bit far-fetched or even contrived

Many distinguished and famous investors long before Bitcoin noted that most profits are earned through mid-term to long-term trading as well as holding. Warren Buffett has been saying that for literally decades. And while cryptocurrencies are different from stocks or even regular currencies in the sense everything moves a lot faster here, having a full-time job in no way prevents you from managing your portfolio efficiently, and, more importantly, effectively, which in this case means profitably

In fact, it can even contribute to this task greatly if you approach it wisely. When you have a full-time job, you have an independent source of income, with the implication being that you don't need to worry about every price move. Apart from that, your mind will be occupied with something else, so you don't get stuck in vicious anxiety loops, and can therefore make rational and informed decisions. The latter most certainly means there's no need in reshuffling your portfolio on a daily basis. In this way, you can effortlessly let your profits grow and reap them when the time is ripe

You don't have to look at the screen 24/7 at the monitor to make profits, just adjust based on your convenience and involving crypto trading over active can cause mental illness as well.So all you have to do is to stop day trading activities or just limit them into less number of trades and the price candle can be 30 minutes or 1 hour.

Trading bots can help you to actively involve in trading while you are working somehwere but still if you are rookie with trading bots then better avoid them until you get to know much clearer.

I think that you don't really need to carry all that risk if you're a working class person. BTC is, put simply, too much risk, and any crypto investment carries even mroe risk. At least BTC is disconnected to an extent from stupid statements or actions from developers. Every other crypto isn't.

I would argue that if somebody that is working class would like to invest, they should only do with a portion of their savings. Let's say that 10% if your income goes to investment so you can be safe from risks as a working class person. Only a sub-portion of that should be high risk. To that point, crypto won't be that profitabe. If you really want to manage a portfolio, stick with stocks and maybe keep putting a portion into crypto regularly, for the fun of it.

It's just sane financial advice to say that with the risk crypto carries, you shouldn't invest in it what you can't afford to lose.

This problem get even more complicated for people that work during weekends, fortunately or unfortunately i fall in that category and i still create time to blog about crypto, (i should say its an addiction).
Latest news and trends are as important as safekeeping your assets in space, if you miss out on a particular information, it could be the rrason behind some silly decisions which can rekt you in the shortest time possible.

Yes  you're right I also sometimes face this problem  Working a full-time portfolio makes it very difficult to manage a portfolio  but I feel very tired reception. and dealing on holidays is that the neatest thing to try to within the morning because doing all the add at some point is often stressful sometimes  During that point  the top is cold and doesn't feel disturbed.

Bots can help us be more flexible in the market even when we work but the cost is often quite high, sometimes it is not a reliable subject, if we don't spend our time checking bots, bots are most likely turned into tools to ruin our assets, discourage those who are busy investing in these tools. Returning to management and working effectively, although the market does not require us to observe often but as soon as we place a buy or sell order, we need to take responsibility for it and therefore should not bring trading into the main job and vice versa, allocate separate time frames for both

Agree. if you dont have enough time to follow graphs and daily news, it is very risky to make daily tradings. it is better to hold good cryptos instead is the best.

That is the problem in diversifying your portfolio, you might not catch up on the quick changes in the price. I did experience where I am waiting for a price and never thought that it already reached it and the time I checked the price is already getting back to its normal price. If you have a full-time job, better minimize your portfolio to good and popular crypto currencies.

Well, if you are not professional trader you don't have to be present on the market 24/7.
Also, it's better to chose long term strategy. Thus you will diminsh the risks and you will not be under pressure all the time every day. Besides chances for higher volume profit are on long term. Also, it's good to diversify portfolio and make more comfortable situation without cinstant pressure. It's very much possible to be successful trader and have a full time steady job.

I can't agree with your statement. If you are a day-trader, then it is really hard to concentrate on anything else. Because you need to track the important developments almost 24x7. And this is impossible if you have a full-time job. If you try to manage both of them, then you will suffer losses in both the sectors. And it can even result in the termination of your employment.

We can make money easily by doing crypto trading in matter of minutes which takes 7 to 8 hour in a day job but crypto earnings are not constant and highly risky but in a day job some kind of assurance to make constant cash flow for near future. So avoiding trading while working can be good idea but if you are having lot of savings already and have some other passive income then better be a full time trader is the smart choice.

The functionality you listed looks fantastic. I do not know any application that could boast that thanks to it someone could choose which coin to invest in.
Even a block folio has an exclusively informational nature. To understand what you really want to invest in, you need to study several projects, assume their future profitability, and only then make decisions.
I don’t think that any of the applications created at the moment can greatly facilitate your task.

This is hard.

I think it is better if you will just be focussing on good cryptocurrencies you can invest in. If you want to really diversify your portfolio, you can download an app that can show you each price changes in what you put in your portfolio. Though you can check all those prices, you might miss the good changes where you can do your trades.

If you really want to have a full time job and not spend too much time on crypto, the best case is probably just using a bot or a system that allows you to rebalance your portfolio to whatever you want. Nowadays people are even building stuff like social media trading where you basically follow someones buys and sells and do exactly the same, if you follow people at evenings a bit and then do what they do, you may spend a little less time on rebalancing as well.

I personally think that it is quite understandable for a person with a full time job to just buy the top coins and just let it sit on their wallet for a long time, that way you are not really a "trader" but at least you are an investor who might happen to make some profits thanks to long term investing.

The best thing you can do is just stick to invest without too much of trading activities. Trading requires lot of time in the market as it is very volatile. And just invest with the top coins 5 or 10 coins maximum by this you can get the information about those coins very easily without spending much time and easy to track these when compared to other mid-cap coins.

You are right, trading is a science and a real job. Any trainer will tell you this. Therefore, the less you trade, the better your results will be.
Therefore, always try to minimize your activity as part of cryptocurrency investment activities.
Invest everything in a series of coins, set reminders and notifications on the movement of their prices, follow the charts and analytics so as not to miss out at the right time.

Also it does not make a lot of sense to hold that many coins, since many of them are heavily correlated among themselves so if you you reduce the number of coins you are holding this is going to make easier to monitor your portfolio and it could take you just a few minutes each day, and it does not matter how busy you are you could always dedicate a few minutes each day to that and in the case you need to adjust your portfolio due to the movements of the market this will also only take you a few additional minutes.

copy trading from social media trading in my opinion was not recommended. many of them have no history that proved as good trader. we must know their trading history before they join in social media copy trade. since many platform provide this feature, many traders stop improving their own trading skill. bot trading or copy trade didnt make us as profesional trader that able face any condition in crypto market. although we have full job, atleast we must spend one or two hours to learn about trading skill.

Even with a single coin and stable coin pair you can keep your day busy all the time so it all depends on how we much margin we set to reach by trading.

Orders for stop loss and profit can be adjusted there and that way we can still spend a lot of time for full time job, trading and managing a portfolio basically can still be done well if you have enough skills. Anyway, checking can be done whenever you have free time, it is just to make sure if your portfolio is maintained and we don't need to trade every time because it will only have a negative impact on your own portfolio.

Absolutely, the important thing is that you have a solid portfolio that you do not need to check it everytime. The thing is that you should have back up plans if something has changed on the market that will affect your profit.

Even with a single coin and stable coin pair you can keep your day busy all the time so it all depends on how we much margin we set to reach by trading.
It is also depending if you are doing long time holding or day trading because the portfolio is different depends on those two. As long as your profit is secured, even if you are not checking it everytime, it is good.

I think that 9 out of 10 people have the same situation as you. You just need to prioritize. If you get too tired of your work, you can exchange it for easier work. If you cannot do this because it is important for you to get the stable salary that you have now, then this is your choice. Then you will have to adapt to such a regime. When I have the same situations in my life as yours, then I'm motivated by the stories of those people who have achieved success in their field. These people didn't know any special easy conditions, they simply aspired to their goal no matter what.

Unfortunately, in many of unsuccessful countries typical working schedule is 9 working hours, 5 days a week.
That's sad, but the one who got this schedule would want to escape it asap (for instance with crypto's help)

Do in which field you are working in, lol. A regular job in most developed countries is at least 8 hours a day. Most people are taking way longer shifts.

@OP just reduce your portfolio to fewer coins, so you can keep track of all of them. There is no point having 20 coins in your portfolio, if you don't have time to check them anyway. Focus on Bitcoin and the other top20 projects. It is easy to gather all necessary information there.

I like your choice of words ("unsuccessful countries")

The truth is a standard working week around the globe is more like 40 hours, which typically matches a working day often abbreviated as 8-17 or 9-18 (with a one-hour lunch break) and weekends as rest days. With that said:

Quote
The standard working week in the United States begins on Monday and ends on Friday, 40 hours per week, with Saturday and Sunday being weekend days. However, in practice, only 42% of employees work 40-hour weeks. The average workweek for full-time employees is 47 hours

Taken from here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workweek_and_weekend#Americas). So, should we consider the US as a failed (unsuccessful) country?

By having a weekday 9-5 job, i must say my eyes aren't that keen anymore for trends and hardly made any good decision on buying/selling alts. Basically what i did is:

Weekdays: Coinalarm app to observe my portfolio real time but it's far less efficient and responsive to market movement, Slack and Telegram app are linked as well but still is very difficult to process insightful information while in working mood.

Weekends: More active than usual but time is limited  :-\

Any opinions or suggestion to improve my current situation?

Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english  :(

I am not working on a job yet but i can relate to your schedule being a student because i also go to school for almost 8-8 pm and that kinda sucks because almost all my time was being rendered into my studies. But we all know that it is good to study well but in this game we need to be aware from time to time from what is happening to our alts we need to stay updated.
This is what i actually do when i have a hectic schedule, i always set a reminder to my phone on when to check my alts usually in school they are not that strict when it becomes on using a phone but of course when you are in a serious scenarios you aren't be able to use it but most of the time i go out and go tk the bathroom then check whats going on to the cryptocurrency that I'm on to.

It's actually a tough one for full time job personnel to be an active cryptocurrency trader, it's a scale which can't be balanced because some days one gets engaged with lot of office activities while other days one gets worned out from office work, though there are some days which one might be free to do some trading activities but to catch up with the market signals it's advisable to focus on the market alone and leave work on the other side and the best option for this is to be a weekend trader. Whereby you're free from office work. Most successful traders actually makes cryptocurrency trading their daily job with no disturbance of work or any issues.

If you need to effectively manage your portfolio while having a full eight-hour job, then everything will depend on your goals. Surely when you purchased the coins, you had some idea what will happen to these coins in the future. At least you had the hope that they would increase in price over a certain period of time. I understand that you are not going to engage in trading, which means it greatly simplifies your situation.
All you need is to have a good application and having information access to all your assets. In the application, you can set universal notifications that will help you control the price movement of your assets.
Management does not end there because projects have the ability to change the rule in their work, in structure, and so on.
Therefore, you must subscribe and join all the social networks of your projects and also set up notifications for the newsletter in order to know exactly what is happening with the project.

It's also good to rely on the site who's providing reliable and accurate data. Try a search for cryptodotco on twitter and start using that as an alternative data tracker. It's just new but you can depend on their sources as well.
