Have thought up, as in the future to raise the price of tokens. Etherdelta, it looks like it will not be the same as before. Somewhere I heard gossip or the truth that since the new year the owner of this exchange has changed. At once new tokens, a new type of payment for adding a coin to the exchange. It would be better if they followed the security.

I think RIP. It's very unuserfriendly exchange. The only advantage was fast listing. Seems they are ripping themselves :-(.

i think they digging up their own grave. as this goes own etherdelta becomes more complicated and coin owners would find another exchange sites to contract. their problem is slowly eating them up and if they don't find a better solution it will be a very big loss to them.

Lol that's crazy amount just for listing on the crap exchange site just like etherdelta, this is fuckin bullshit man. I can't think how etherdelta needs a lot of money from the ico. if there is no a lot of interest in their ico and then they are taking the advantage from icos that raised million dollars but it looks good to prevent the scammer.

Looks like etherdelta is shooting their foot. They are taking out the only advantage they have against centralized exchanges. This new CEO is killing etherdelta by forcing their tokens to their users. Time to find a new and better decentralized exchange.

This is a welcome development for EtherDelta because the new rules will help check all those scammers who are using the EtherDelta website to for those their evil deeds. The development will make the company stand firm. Thanks for this wonderful development. I hail it!

Now as new few exchanges coming in market for competition and they take this decision its almost kill them because if they are not going to accept them they opponents are going to take advantage and etherdelta already have some serious problems after this hack can go more down or shut down in near future

They also switched owners and are starting an ICO. I would highly recommend to avoid the exchange and the ICO, huge red flag for me.

Why is this protecting investors' interests? I don't understand what Etherdelta is doing. I think the Etherdelta will lose a lot of users.

I think it is just right to stop new participants to join because etherdelta as of now has the most variety of tokens in a platform. also, I think its right that the security is in threat when too many new alts are allowed to join.

This is the best thing EtherDelta have done in recent times because many ICOs were not serious in the business of listing coins or tokens in an exchange. So this action of EtherDelta will separate the serious minded ones from those who are not serious. I love their efforts in creating these wonderful rules. They should maintain it.

In my opinion, since Etherdelta has stopped listing coins that are not really profits, it is good that they came and started making actions for these shitcoins. Their action has made them look like more serious on protecting their exchange, the exchange seems to also be populated of traders that are always on the site.

Agree with you. Etherdelta become so popular, because their fast listing almost all ERC20 tokens (ICO, airdrop). After new Etherdelta rules become live - new coins listing will be much less.

They're doing this so people will buy their tokens to get listed.

Since their main marketing tool was basically marketing the listing of all known ERC20 coins, surely it is bad for their business with existing users. As you can notice they already deleted the story.....

However, maybe it is not bad for atracting new ones. Low volume is their main problem, besides being too slow even with such low volume. If they redesign the engine of their web and make it more user friendly (at least they could add some calculators) it would surely attract more people.

The problem with ERC20 coins is that there are many pump and dump ones, many that could be something good but then people use it only to pump and dump and then basically destroy it, and there are just too many scam coins. Etherdelta used to list them all. Pulling a break and making the developers put in some effort too get listed may be a good thing.

I hope though that their new plans help to develop a bit the current software... because, for real, that's a horrible UI. Worst exchange I have used so far, and I only started to check ED for the first time yesterday.

LOL, they deleted the original post which claimed to bring these changes for user security. These changes do not make Etherlend more secure. Also I think escrow option will screw Etherelta very badly. Right now, they are not in that position to impose rules on token listers. Etherdelta platform just witnessed a terrible hack, their focus should be on making the platform more secure and welcome for all.

I've read elsewhere that the owners sold to somebody else and they are changing up a few things. Luckily I only used the exchange a few times to pick up some of the more obscure coins but hardly any that I could not have gotten somewhere else. I was not a big fan of the layout so I will just let this exchange fade away.

In my opinion, this is a good news, because most of the price of Etherdelta tokens is very low, which is obviously not in line with the market price.

In any case, I think we will be able to trade without listing by using the contract addresses.
That's still something to profit on sh*t coins. ;D

If etherdelta is listing coins to solve their vulnerability in their security system I will buy but I don't know how this CEO want to manage huge funds without thinking of security customers funds.

etherdelta's main niche was the decentralized aspect of it. Easy listing were part of it and removing that takes away from the overall appeal etherdelta once had. How sad. Who are these new chinese owners? what happened to the last dude? Why have I not heard more about this? it seems like a lot especially coming right after the hack and holiday time. This was a big shift for the biggest DAPP built on ethereum!

This is bad news i think, how can new project hit exchange if etherdelta stop accepting new token?

well i think it is a good news for sometime .. as listing any erc20 token there cause the massive dump before the team decide to list the token to any other exchange..it is temporarily suspended but ED should stop listing tokens... it was also hacked some days before and i thought it is not secure to use etherdelta

I think its a great call and I personally welcome this. There are lot of suspicious projects and it has become hard to judge creditability of a project. Its great that by doing this they are only allowing credible project's token to be listed after ICO. So in short moving towards more secured trading environment which should be encouraged and welcomed and shouldn't be discouraged.

EtherDelta was a good decentralized exchanges but when they announced that I think it's a rest in peace for them. However, if you look on the other perspective it looks like some fort of anomaly like security issues and such? Maybe we can give them a time to restore their erc20 and for sure they'll recover it as soon as possible.

I don't know if it was only me but, when I open the link it says that "the author deleted this medium story". So, I guess that news was a just a big unrealistic story. Though as of now, they are facing some issues, I still don't loose hope that tomorrow it will soon become okay. And so I will get my funds already!  :(

I personally stopped using etherdelta after the phishing redirected hack and my wife also said she cannot trust it as so many fishy things are happening there. We prefer to trade our tokens on other exchanges and not in a hurry to sell tokens as soon as they get listed after ICOS. We do not mind waiting because we wish to see everything is safe and secure first as opposed to rushing things. If you do use ED please make sure you use a wallet that you do not store most of your coins and only trade one coin at a time and remove when you buy.

I hope it won't die, but I get out all my stuff from ED yesterday. I know that there is the possibility to make it even if it will die, but now I'm trying to avoid of using ED with big amounts...

I also take out all my token in Ether Delta as a precaution.Ether Delta today is a laughing stuff in crypto because of the hack that is being done after the replacement of the new CEO. What a great start. lol. ;D

Some people scared about not accepting new coin in etherdelta but I think this is the new strategy of etherdelta team I hope they upgrade the platform into new one to attract more trader I like etherdelta because it has lot of coin listed but the sad truth this trading site have lot of shitcoin the ddos hacking attact have a big affect to the trader to stay away from it.

Oh!the site cannot be found, this site was deleted and maybe because the news was a big fuss. This kind of news was maybe just one of none sense news , something created just to make fun or to slander the etherdelta. There are reasons that I think why they deleted the site, first, they protecting the image of etherdelta, second, this might be not true and this information will affect the transaction in etherdelta which is really happening because of the news that it was hacked. 
The first thing that comes to my mind about this RIP is REST IN PEACE and I'm making conclusions that this mean the etherdelta will die??? I hope not. It was just my conclusion since I can't read the news on link anymore because it was deleted.

I hope etherdelta would be more secured in the upcoming years,its very unhealthy to the one exchange to get hacked a lot of people will lose a lot of money and trust to the crypto,this will be a good thing for the new investors to specify if the ICO will be listed to major exchanges or not.

if stoping the new coin to be listed on etherdelta can stop and make the etherdelta secure i thing it would be best to do it. maybe it not for forever but just until the problem solve and the safety is guaranted. etherdelta have a good potential thought. they can be big but many thing should be impirove.

EtherDelta was one of my favorites, but now their greed is killing them. I think that they'll loose a huge amount of trading volume. If they stop listing new tokens for free, it will be definitely the end.

Dont worry, they have problem with there cloud server. That global probelm and they will fix that soon, beside not listing more token will make Etherdelta faster for traders and i would love that decision.

Yeah also etherdelta are known to be open for those shitcoins to register on their market. They're just giving opportunities to those scammers to make a fake ICO or projects. I think it is much better now to all investors to identify a good project or not i want to see the improvement of their exchange.

It is really funny that the frontend of the most popular decentralized exchange, Etherdelta, got hacked. It seems that before the frontend is decentralized, the decentralized exchanges existed are still centralized in a sense.

The new owners in less than a month managed to completely ruin the exchange, it's impressive.

I never liked the feel of Etherdelta, Then after the hacking incident it made my mind up 100% to not use it. With the new owner now it feels like he is going for a quick money grab. I think Binance and kucoin lead the way now on exchanges. Exchanges like hitbtc with their awful customer service and no stop deposit and withdraw problems will slowly die out to new and customer driven exchanges.

its sad that I always knew about this exchange but never used it until a week ago. Actually didn't mind it there are a lot of money making opportunities there. sad news.

Strange story with Etherdelta, no trust to ED anymore.

I would like to know the alternative to this exchange, too many expectations, I connected with her. Almost all new coins appear there first. And to sell airdrop you definitely need to go there. With the new Director and the recent attacks, she has not gained popularity, and are going to sell your token.

I think ED not accepting new crypto to be listed on their platform means a stagnant growth. No more ICO will be using ED as their crypto exchange anymore, for sure. Anyway, it's time to move on. There are lots of crypto exchange that's more than ED's feature though.

Absolutely, I think that security is THE issue number one in the crypto world, even more important then scalability. I mean, scalability is the main long-term issue, but the security puts a big question mark over everything right now. It is discouraging new investors as well as also some old ones.

I recently stopped using etherdelta after they compramised DNS lots of people got loss their hard earned even i had very small amount butthe effort i took to recover as well as gas fees un necessary expense for me . Now even they stopped the only advantage quickly listing token that is also now finishing RIP . Look for OAX or idex.

I used ED for the first and last time yesterday/today.. I hear a lot of people saying they used to be good, I cannot speak for that myself as I only decided to use this site as it was my only option of obtaining some BLUE at the time. I did not have a very good experience with this exchange. Transactions taking forever, site freezing, balances taking forever to update and I really do like the idea of a decentralized exchange but I don't think I will be returning after this experience.

Seems they are going to make new listings put some coin in escrow to show they are real. Seems like a positive move to me.

Well actually I'm a fan of ED as I find it hassle free to use but recently it was sucks as I experienced that too even though I increase my gwei yet nothing to happen. I don't know what's behind it and it's actually frustrating to use especially when there's a sudden pumpmor dump, you can actually miss it tho. Sooner, if it's not yet fix I'll pull out some of my coins there and transfer to some new platform.

Do not waste time, decentralized exchanges are going to be big, it is my opinion that as centralized exchanges become more regulated we are going to see a pump in almost any coin and token that is associated with decentralized exchanges, not all of them are going to grow the same but I think we are going to see a lot of coins skyrocketing in due time.

I had 3 ethereum wallets and all hacked. On friday evening I saw that etherium is being transferred to my account to another account. I managed to save 2 wallets but 1 is lost, my ethers are stolen. This is because etherdelta shit.

I can not believe why I entered my private keys into that shitty idea of exchange and lost my etherium. I am never using etherdelta from now on in any case

I am not sure that they would add every new coin like it was case with Ether delta. Anyway I think this is good thing, and it will split good from bad ICO's.

What can I say ,, it's most unprofessional & zero user friendly exchange for all the time. Scammy , spammy  look. Until they change the user interface people will hesitate to join this.

You should move to IDEX, it's a better version of ED and they will list new Tokens as soon as they come out from ICOs just like it was in ED before they decided to cashgrab with the ICO tokens.

The transaction performance depends on the ethereum blockchain, it's decentralized exchange site and all of the transaction will be running directly in ethereum blockchain, as far as i understand about etherdelta just try to provide the place for the traders but it was taking nothing from us.

I haven't read through the whole thread, but wouldn't it be very simply to make a copy of EtherDelta that isn't run by assholes?

And failing that, what stops us from creating a web extension or webpage that links a token contract address to its name?

Agreed. But it think IDEX is also at maintainance right now. I do see some good news in the site bit at least we should wait until then. Their are also some tokens that are not found on etherdelta that is found on IDEX and vise versa. I just saw it so i dont really have a say on this on fees of how many members. I use metamask for my trades for more protection but sometimes it is really disappointing to read some bad reviews on these sites especially if their are many of them.

Unfortunately this is one of the big risks of inputing your private keys in a website, after you do that your coins are very vulnerable to being stolen and when the exchange is not the best then things like that can happen, this is why I do not like trading since I need to give my money away to the exchanges and trust they are going to give me my money back at some point in the future.
