Recently I am hearing some rumors or words that, Eth will beat bitcoin sooner or later.But I don't think so and I totally disagree with it. Bitcoin is Bitcoin, And Eth is like after Bitcoin, If bitcoin fall then eth will fall too. Then how can people think that ETH can Overcome Bitcoin? What do you think About this? Share your thoughts.

Eth is a totally different project. It is all about smart contracts, and is not a direct competitor for bitcoin.
If people say that they think Eth will overtake bitcoin in cap, then they mean they think smart contracts will be huge in the future and Eth will continue to lead the way as the biggest smart contract platform.
Personally I think there is a reasonable chance that Eth could become #1 in cap.

it shouldn't matter if ethereum does become worth more than bitcoin. they only share one thing - the money on exchanges.

there's a million things you can do with ethereum that you can't with bitcoin. there's a million reasons why i wouldn't trust ethereum with any of my money long term.

they're different projects with different aims. it amazed me how few people can figure this out.

It's very simple, I think that people simply believe in the ETH project, because when a deep correction took place, people saw how ETH stuck to it and I think that the people's faith in this project supported the price of this project. But then of course everyone gave in to panic.

You should know that these big investors are getting tired of the bitcoin's drama because they are loosing billions of dollars everytime bitcoin has crashed,so morelikely they are finding a good alternative to bitcoin,which is surely ethereum will be the first choice.If these investors realized how risky bitcoin's market is im sure most of them will choose ethereum for more stability,we are already seeing some of it because most of the transactions in cryptocurrencies everyday is within ethereum's.

the drama has receded for now. and i'd prefer to lose billions in a good honest crash than down to a poorly coded or executed ethereum contract. that would seriously annoy me.

Not anymore, its main dev is spreading a statement that crypto can nearly go zero so many will surely pull out their funds on ETH.
I never thought that ETH will overcome bitcoin in terms of market cap, they have their own differences and pro's and con's too.
If bitcoin fails, the crypto industry/market will fail.

Because it can. The future of a coin does not depend whether it is the first or something, but on the community supporting it. ETH is promising and has fewer issues to deal with as compared to bitcoin. Also, there a lot of ERC tokens

Govt prints fiat.  You buy crypto with fiat.  Govt controls crypto.  

They have not shut it down yet so I believe they are running this thing.  I believe bitcoin is their crypto of choice so I believe bitcoin will be #1.  That 400 million buy order to stop the last crash didn't come from grandma in a remote part of China.

These people are very much mistaken. Bitcoin and ethereum are quite different coins that are not worth comparing. So do not be mistaken in this.

I am one of those people who are in favor that someday Ethereum would surpass Bitcoin's Market Cap value because Ethereum is on Bitcoin's tail since early 2014.
That day I knew about Bitcoin is that day also Ethereum was born and is up in the circulation but I just read it on web articles and didn't paid much attention due to my work and some other stuffs that made me turn away from the blockchain and Cryptocurrency facts.
And I finally joined this forum last year and found myself fit on earning this Crypto Market career.

Ethereum is I believe the strongest and widely used blockchain backbone in this generation and I do believe that in the near future Bitcoin will be on the second place as the next most valued cyprto in the market.
Ethereum has a lot more to burst in terms of features like scalability and the transaction speed that is indeed faster than Bitcoin's.
It's a matter of time that Ethereum will soon replace Bitcoin as the number one Crypto in the market. Soon enough.

To compare and contrast, bitcoin is 10 times higher in price than ETH, so therefore, it's very difficult to predict that ETH will overcome BTC in the nearest future, however on the other side, ETH network has many smart contracts which different coin can use to join the ETH network. Thus, this can go a long way in increasing it's popularity like BTC. But these can't be in the nearest future because BTC has already go a long way, so to speak.

Because ETG is a second generation Blockchain platform which is not only peer to peer electronic cash like Bitcoin but also a platform for creating and deploying smart contracts.
Some technologies are even better than ETH like NEO, EOS, ADA add many more.

i think its because for now, the community for ethereum growth big and faster. That's help ETH to reach the price like yesterday.
meanwhile the bitcoin supporters is so funny, just support it when it reach good news or HF only  :-\

It's human nature and normal instinct that people should compare anything to anything and you can't stop them on comparing Bitcoin to Ethereum.
I assume you would agree that Bitcoin is comparable only to it's hard forks like Bitcoin Cash, Gold, Diamond and Segwit2x.
I personally inform you that I've been comparing Bitcoin and Ethereum as well, that's why it's possible that soon or someday Ethereum could surpass Bitcoin's market capital because people and other factors are manipulating the both markets.
If found out that Bitcoin can no longer handle that delay of transactions and at the same time Ethereum didn't stop pumping then people would probably turn their back away from Bitcoin into Ethereum.
The point is, Ethereum's features and speed are better than Bitcoin's and that's the fact.
Bitcoin has no product and it's purely a simple coin that is high in demand but the supply is very low and the only thing we know is that Bitcoin is the first of it's kind and the Mother of all the Blockchain and Cryptos

My way of thinking is the same as you, if bitcoin fail then crypto market will fail too. Can be seen that has happened if the price of bitcoin down then another altcoin including ethereum will go down as well. So, nothing can be expected from altcoin that will replace bitcoin. Questions like this will be very easy to answer by someone who every day see the development of the price of crypto.

many have come to crypto world not knowing about the father of all coins, the essence in which all coins are based on. You can take a vaccum cleaner and add hoses and new advancements, but at the end of the day its still vaccum cleaner and used to pick up dirt, and the majority will never use extra features

it's just rumors yet to be sure everyone's opinion is different but I agree only if the ETH replaces bitcoin but in reality see now BTC remains the king of ETH just be the queen is still far away to be able to defeat

Because Ethereum does not show a normal rise, they think of Ethereumun Bitcoini, but personally Neo coin seems to have flown Ethereum because Ethereum did not show such a rise in same value.

Because most of the people are tired of getting along with bitcoin's price manipulations,ethereum has less manipulations plus it has a better price stability than bitcoin,also it has a good platform which offers smartcontracts and d-apps so if these investors make up their mind and choose to have more stable cryptocurrency it would be ethereum,not bcash nor any other shitcoin.

I don't think Bitcoin going to sink easily. But I don't know what to look forward to, just hope that other people buy it more?
With ethereum I get excited about technological updates, new tokens, decentralized internet...

We have seen that before when bitcoin went through a big dip, the altcoins followed it. Those people who are keep on talk with their altcoin that will replace bitcoin, they are have big trust to their bet. But for us who are into bitcoin, we have confidence that it will not be taken over by some altcoin out there. As LN will be implemented soon and Segwit has starting to be adopted on this moment, fees are getting lower and transactions are getting faster so there's no sense of thinking its overtake.

ETH is already securing it's place as the king of crypto.
The only reason why bitcoin is king, is because it is really the only one that is entirely liquidable.  What that means is that it has many avenues of converting it to fiat.  Also all altcoins trade with btc.
BTC definitely earned it's place though, just google something like, "History of btc value."  Bitcoin has been through a lot and is still alive and kicking.

ETH has already become almost as liquidable as btc though.  There are many avenues to change it to real money and on coinmarketcap it is starting to display values based on ether as well.  The one thing that is missing is a widely used p2p platform to change ether to $$$. (bitcoin has localbitcoins for example, kind of like an amazon or ebay for btc).

ETH is also becoming widely tradeable with just about any altcoin.
But the real big reason of ETH becoming #1, is that the ETH network is MASSIVE and continuing to grow.
Nothing can touch that right now, even "better" platforms like neo.
The better the network the stronger the platform itself.

But with that being said, I believe btc will still be king for another year.

It is purely speculation and I think they are entitled for their opinion. For the many people in this forum who had clearly understand the dynamics of bitcoin, I personally believe that ETH will not surpass bitcoin. Considering on the fast increase in momentum of bitcoin price value currently, ETH may able to progressively increase but it cannot match what bitcoin had achieved. ETH percentage increase in the price value is mostly halfway of BTC and definitely not comparable for now.

Its imply because ETH gained massive price and market cap . It is much faster than Bitcoin too . And more project rely on the ETH Blockchain . Which give more support to ETH price . But i personally think it cant overcome bitcoin since it like the father of cryptocurrency .

Bitcoin may lose some market cap for weeks / months but it will be back with bigger support after . It has been the cycle for many years already . ETH on the other hand made some steady growth and sat around $1k for few month . ETH will be no.2 next only to Bitcoin . But who knows , maybe theyre right about bitcoin being overtaken by ETH . Do not believe dude that ETH can beat bitcoin in the future
Bitcoin is the king and ETH is altcoin and the total supply is different too.

There is some truth to this rumor, and now ETH is widely used, but don't forget that bitcoin is the king of cryptography, no substitute, he is the first. ETH is only the second.

There is a less likelihood of that happening. We know ethereum has its own market, the market of ico's. But ethereum grew mostly because of the ability to buy different ico's through and through ethereum only. There was no coin which was being launched on another platform and there didn't exist any platform either. Now we see many such as neo, waves and many more blockchains in line which are supporting creation of coins on a particular network. The cryptokitty game showed how easy it is to clog a ethereum network. Ethereum will sure surpass the growth percentage but because it is pegged to bitcoin and bitcoin is not pegged to ethereum, whenever ethereum will run, bitcoin will run on a similar pattern though might be slower. Competitors for ethereum are ready to convince ico's to instead launch using their platform and while erc 223 is good, people have many more qualms with ethereum.

I do not understand why there should be competition between these coins.  Both ETH and bitcoin occupy their niche in the crypto-currency world.  Why compare them.  These are completely different technologies.  I do not think that in the near future ETH will cost as much as bitcoin.  The cost of ETH is growing more smoothly, without strong leaps.

ETH have long way to go before it can match bitcoin's power. Bitcoin will always be the leader of the cryptoworld and there is no other altcoins that can surpass bitcoin while its presence is still around.

I think it's just a rumor. As far as I know, Eth will continue to be under Bitcoin. Pay attention to Eth's price movement, when Bitcoin price increases, Eth can follow Bitcoin price movement, but its presentation is very far with bitcoin, because Eth's popularity is very different from Bitcoin.

And why not - if any Bitcoin cash could reach up to 4000, then the worse the powerful platform Ethereum, over which a serious team is working and where billions of dollars are invested.

I agree that these two currencies are completely different and attempts to equalize them do not make sense.

They both have their good and bad things. I can see ETH being safely the 2nd best Crypto out there, but I think it will take time, even years for it to become bigger than Bitcoin, given all the crypto popularity of BTC. Its all speculation and rumors, but I do see a future on ETH.

I may have to disagree for now regarding ETH to overcome bitcoin because if we will have to do comparison in the current market price value, ETH is still very far from BTC. I also happened to observed that for every percentage increase of ETH, it is usually halfway of the precentage increase of BTC. However, if will consider the comparsion in long term basis, there is a potential chance but too early for now that ETH might surpass BTC at this current state.

Eth has a different perspective. It's in Smart Contract coins group , So Eth will rise, price will become more higher in 1-2 years.

Ethereum has a lot more real-world use cases than Bitcoin. Ethereum, by being a platform and infrastructure means that a lot more can be done with it than with Bitcoin. For example, Ethereum has positioned itself as the platform on which other blockchain products can be launched. The sheer number of new cryptocurrencies and ICOs being launched on the Ethereum network is the proof of this. This translates into higher demand for Ethereum, thus higher price.

If the price exceeds bitcoin, then there is no possibility of it,because of the circulation of the ETH is far more than the bitcoin, but based on ETH ICO project more and more, if the ICO project success, for the consumption of the ETH will further increase, the increase of demand for the ETH, may cause the ETH the market value of more than BTC.

everything we discussed is a prediction to be a bitcoin substitute. there is no definite measure of what they are discussing will be the truth. but that's why we are discussing the potential of eth that can be a better alternative than bitcoin.

There are many people who kept on comparing these two coins, why?, why don't you just enjoy their uses? Both of them are almost the same in technology, but the other one, came first and the other has more use.

If you heard of the flippening, ETH already surpassed BTC, not in marketcap but in the volume of transactions.

Because bitcoin blockchain is old and slow.
Ethereum has faster transaction speed, larger network size and number of transactions per second is much better comparing with bitcoin. Also Ethereum transaction fees are much lower.

Etherium cant beat BTC price if you talking about money) Eth has unlimited supply and if it wants to be world computer it must be cheap as Buterin sad one time when it starts to grow very fast. BTC has limited supply and its purpose is money saving. Now with lighting it can be a payment means of payment. Ico booom will be finished in few years. And eth will be like fuel for tokens. But nobody likes expensive fuel and everybody loves when their gold is growing in price.

Even though Ethereum is an alt it can surpass bitcoin, i dont say it in term of price but in how it use in real life, as we see smartcontract ethereum have many real life use and how fast the transaction and the cheap fee he has.

Ethereum really quite perspective cryptocurrency capable not just to leave as equals with bitcoin, but also in a long-term prespektiva to drive him out of the market in general.

When people say this, I am sure the only thing that comes to their mind is the smart contract aspect of Ethereum, but who says Bitcoin cannot do that? Up till date, I still wonder what Ethereum can do, that Bitcoin cannot do, but I guess a lot of people always prefer to stick to what they want to believe without bothering to research further.

Edited: After reading this, please tell me something else better that Eth can do, which Bitcoin cannot do and please no one should come bombarding me with fast transactions; increasing block size is not a solution at all, and cryptokittens made that obviously clear.

These two are too far from each other to compare and this has been prove by so many times. Some people want eth to surpass bitcoin because they're holding more eth than bitcoin and aspiring that their coin will someday be a number one besides who doesn't want to get rich by their holdings? And for sure that even eth overcome the maŕket cap of bitcoin yet it will just stay in its position.

if you compare ETH supply and BTC supply you will find that if eth and btc supply is same then eth is very near to BTC

Personally, I like ethereum technology and its smart contracts more than bitcoin technology.
But I doubt that the ethereum will overcome bitcoin. For me, bitcoin and ethereum like gold and silver. Everyone should know their place.

In my personal opinion because ETH given more benefits and advantages to the cryptocurrency community. Cause ETH, many starts ups can increasing their product and service through  and use smart contract of ETH to run ICO and collect money from investor and to make application and to make their product better.

I don't think eth will overcome btc . Why some people think so ? I think you shouldn't care about it , because some people think that UFO's snatching them every night , or reptiloids already rule the Earth . Ethereum is very good and popular , but in my opinion , bitcoin always will be #1 .

When ETH came into the market that time bitcoin was at its peak but even that time there is a good market for eth. ETH has rised at that time only. So if at that time eth has rided its price and bitcoin started declining. But it will never gonna happen that eth will overcome bitcoin.

We need to understand projects clearly, Ether is a platform for creating and promoting technical news on the basis of chains, Bitcoin is the first chain that, although expensive, is limited in its development, it's like gold. You have to understand that comparing them is stupid, it's easier to compare BTC and BTG.  8)

This is usual a normal thing when people play with words. Very often we talk about comparisons between the various cryptocurrencies. Among the couples who are often object of comparison, there is that formed by the Bitcoin and Ethereum. Prediction and expectation is the right of each person, so you may expect anything but as per my knowledge Bitcoin is king of kings and mother of all crypto, no altcoin can reach at least half of the price of Bitcoin for another 10 years I think. Bitcoin's market cap and acceptance all over the world is tremendous.

Of course there is a huge gap between the prices of Ethereum and Bitcoin. But smartest technology of Ethereum make the people think that ETH will be the first with the time. And I think they have the reasons to talk like this.

The point is - BTC is not a simple coin, it's a part of cryptoworld, like C++ code or Blockchain. Can you create something that will replace Blockchain? Nope. That's why no coin can overcome BTC.

These things are about technology and some other things. Technology is most important thing in this market and Ethereum's technology is better than technology of bitcoin. Also a lot of new ıco are created with ethereum so I think Ethereum can pass bitcoin in long term.

 I think it because ethereum has big potential same as bitcoin also in a popularity ethereun got huge investor. Ethereum also have unique blockchain and smart contract. Many ico are trusting in ethereum because of that.

Prices for all altcoins depend on the price of bitcoin. For the cost of the Ether can not surpass it. It seems obvious to me.

it might be because bitcoin transactions are usually slower than eth is. but i think bitcoin will still remain on top since it is the first crypto in history. ethereum on the other hand is really popular since it is made to support tokens which has a great deal for developers.

They are trusting the potential of ETH because of the recent dip of all coins, ETH became more stable compared to bitcoin and by that they see that there is a good future with ETH but for me I think eth will not overcome bitcoin because of the growing supply of btc in the market.

I think as the Bitcoin transaction fees get higher and delays longer, people will turn to other coins but I wouldnt put my money on ETH as it's getting longer delays and bigger fees as well.

I think because the etherium is faster in movement than bitcoin and etherium itself is very strong to hold the price not to fall too

As per my observation i have noticed that the main reason for this is :~
1. Stability of price of ETHEREUM is more than BITCOIN,i.e.,manipulations or alterations of price are not frequent.
2. Transaction fees of BITCOIN is too high to be handled.

I think that the graph of ETH is good and its continue positive result is responsible for the same.

I think that it makes no difference. BTC and ETH are crypto.
It is what at them is identical. But it is different tools and different entities. They cannot replace each other. Therefore this dispute senseless.

Results given by Ethereum is much better and its team is very co-operative for spreading awareness among the mass the graph is very nice.

Eth is constantly working on updates to its network, as well as bitcoin. They both develop, and everyone has their own characteristics. If I had to choose between 1 bitcoin or 10 eth. I would choose 10 Ethereum.

Because is the only coin in the our market which has more potential than bitcoin,ethereum has a good platform which bitcoin doesnt have,the platform offers smartcointracts and d-apps or decentralized applications which you can use if you are planning to create your own cryptocurrency in the future,powerful platform which can improve the use of blockchain in different applications is enough reason why would ethereum should be the one to replace bitcoin in the future.

I think so may think that will make ETH can overtake Bitcoin position. ETH is most good coin with good features. ETH has rise now with so hard, although they're a new. The token feature in ETH also make it loving with more people and developers because their have free to make some rules to standing their project. With their token, also make ETH rise up because in the first realize, the token will taking ETH for make prices and ETH market will get crowded. I don't said bitcoin will die, but I think ETH is so amazing coin. Maybe butcoin developer must work so hard to make that never gone.

Good for you bro! Keep up with the support, but I hope you are not just basically following others with the support and you are doing this based on the knowledge you have on the two projects. Do not get me wrong, Ethereum is a good project, but coming to tell me how Ethereum is better than bitcoin without any fact which I can counter, then please.

ERC tokens do not make a project and if you think bitcoin cannot be used to create tokens, read about Omni Layer Protocol. Knowledge is profitable to direct.

I read the newspaper still heard that in the future, ETH will pass the BTC. But there is no clear basis. This depends on many factors, but I'm sure ETH does not go beyond the BTC. I also think the same as you, once the BTC price drops along with a series of down altcoin, including ETH, so when will BTC price drop and ETH price increase for ETH to surpass BTC? ..... This is a which no one has explained.

ETH to date, is the only crypto currency,which is able to compete with Bitcoin. ETH can beat Bitcoin in several areas of its application.  ETH favorably differs from other crypto-currencies and the fact that its capitalization is about 50% of the capitalization of bitcoin, and this is also a record figure. Significant fluctuations in the rate of bitcoin recently led many to doubt its further success. While Ethereum beats new records.

Because ethereum is not so expensive as bitcoin. And they hope that it is possible to become rich in a future with ethereum like with bitcoin. Hopes, hopes  :D

Now Bitcoin is the most expensive crypto currency. Now, if Bitkoyn becomes cheaper, all the Altcoins get cheaper.

Well, there's a possiblity that the ethereum can overcome the bitcoin.the reason are the: ethereum are stable so if the other people realize it they might come into ethereum unlike the bitcoin it is fluctuating and very high difference of fluctuating value. Both bitcoin and ethereum have many projects so i only based this on the stable state

Stability is because bitcoin is handling the load. The entire market's brunt, government and public sentiment is being pushed onto bitcoin. More exposure leads bitcoin to become unstable otherwise ethereum is more or less on a similar path. Right now it is shielded from volatility like all the altcoins but yes better than other altcoins because it is a huge platform with a better usecase.

Many people think that ETH can overcome bitcoin because of having a good quality and many think that it fully understand the process of bitcoin. Ethereum is a well known decentralized platform and allow anyone to write smart contact wherein we can create our own transaction formats and the next to the largest cryptocurrency that's why many people considered it as progressively that can handle all the risk,secured from any scam and can probably overcome bitcoin.

Because lately bitkoin has a rather bad forecast, apparently it should be due to the fact that bitcoins have futures and projects like tether ripple, I think that such projects kill the world of crypto currency

If you're talking Ripple And Tether are killing cryptoworld then I do agree you.

I think it will not overcome the value of bitcoin. I believe that ethereum is also dependent of bitcoins value. It will always create a gap within its price. Although bitcoin may seem slower. Ethereum is getting strong but this times I think it can not surpass its value. But who knows in the future maybe it will.

Because ethereum offers much more than just a means of payment, smart contracts can improve life literally in every sphere of a person, including payments between people

i believe ethereum will not be able to be compared with bitcoin because they are so different when the amount of bitcoin is limited at 21 miliion and ETH is endless, so in the future, i believe ETH still be able to rise more and more but i wont put to much hope on ETH price will much more than Bitcoin even in a very long future.

Its because of the smart contract features it has which makes it unique more than bitcoin though btc is pioneer of cryptocurrency but am also seeing eth getting closer or overthrown btc in price...

Because people are slowly realizing that ethereum should be leading all the cryptocurrencies,it has a good platform which bitcoin doesnt have,smartcontracts and d-apps are being used by most of the developers in cryptocurrencies,so it only means ethereum is dominating the whole market,eth has 40% of the total transactions of cryptocurrencies everyday,so it is very possible for ethereum to replace bitcoin's position.

The main reason that people think Ethereum can overtake Bitcoin in market cap is because of the ability to write smart contracts on top of the Ethereum blockchain, with the built in payment app feature via ERC20 Tokens. I am invested in both BTC and ETH though.

I don't think about the ranking will change because bitcoin and ethereum is different project. Ethereum has big gap in bitcoin but there are top one and top two in cryptocurrency. In our place i never heard about that ethereum will beat bitcoin it will never happen. Bitcoin is like mother of ethereum so it's never happen that ethereum will totally beat the bitcoin. Just don't believe in a rumor like that or they create a fake news to destroy the cryptocurrency  i think.

Bitcoin has a limited number of coins that are mined very slowly. Ethereum has unlimited emissions and is produced faster than bitcoin. Therefore, if the price of Ethereum does not fall, then after 1-2 years the capitalization of Ethereum will be more than that of bitcoin. This is simple.

It is still a debate and always has been so. Bitcoin will not be easy to overcome simply because of the invested interest of so many. Eth is not in line as competition, it is just another coin gaining popularity for itself.

I would say that's quite common confusion/mistake.
I am not sure where it comes from ba I can assume that they just saw BTC going up and down for 3-5k and at the same time ETH is just shown the 200-300$ difference, that's definitely because of the difference of price. Maybe most of the people are under the illusion that ETH is the more stable cause of that fact, dunno, that's don't make any sense for me. I will vote for BTC in the middle of the night without any hesitations.

I have never thought of ethereuem beating bitcoin in term's of price because bitcoin as the first cryptocurrencies has great potential and high technology that even the world doesn't need any other cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is OK and we don't even need other alt coin, but for the sake of technological advancement and improvement we may adopt other coin but not to the point that any of them can ever compete with bitcoin.

I think ethereum can't beat bitcoin, it's two different projects so the result will also be different. Because bitcoin price is so high so most people would prefer to have bitcoin than ethereum but ethereum will continue to be number 2 after bitcoin.

But I think that bitcoin is way too far away from ETH, so ETH to get out of bitcoin is probably going to take a few decades, in a few years it will not be possible for ETH to overcome bitcoin. The inflationary nature of Ethereum has little to do with whether Eth will overtake BTC or not.

Eth is a smart contract blockchain whereas BTC is a underlying currency for all cryptocurrencies to be priced upon.

I would say that BTC is the trading currency of the crypto world much like how USD is (still) the trading currency for the traditional world.

Ethereum handles more transactions than all the cryptocurrencies combined and that includes Bitcoin too in it. There are hundreds of dApps and tokens being built on the Ethereum platform. It has a strong dev team. And currently it can handle more transactions per second than Bitcoin.

Many people believe that Ether can really take the place of bitcoin. Since they believe in it, that's why they are looking for any confirmation of their meaning. This is analogous to the principles of religion. When you believe in something, you everywhere find evidence and confirmation of your faith. This is not bad and not good. It is so there. Everybody is not forbidden to think the way they want.

Both etherum and Bitcoin has it own way. As for me I don't think etherum can overthrow bitcoin. Bitcoin is the most recognized and most valuable coin in the whole world.

I totally agree with your statement. It’s the smart contract that plays vital role in the development of ETH. Bitcoin and etherium and two totally different platforms. People are comparing the underlying technologies of eth and btc and not comparing them as an asset of store of value. People saying eth will be huge surely mean that smart contracts will be huge in future which will make eth platform attract more project and ICO’s hence rising the market cap and price too.

well, eth has a very stable price, and most often used as a new coin development platform. well, i think that someday, eth will be a very heavy competitor to bitcoin. well, I think a lot of people think like that. in addition, the current eth price is still much cheaper compared to bitcoin.

Agree to that. And moreover people are also tired with the confirmation time bitcoin is taking now a days to do a transaction. Also the fees was quite high in between and was as high as 13$ to 37$. Bitcoin was stuck for few years in the block size issue and at the same time Ethereum was moving much further in terms of development. The only thing Bitcoin has to show now is the lightning network while Ethereum has hundreds of tokens and dApps being built on it. And these tokens each are going to have immense value.

I feel you but I still tend to disagree. If we are even talking about market capitalization here, you should have always noticed the shift most of the time to have known it would be extremely hard and very close to impossible for that to even happen.
You also have to understand that the cashing out of the market most times affects all, but whether we like it or not, bitcoin is always the first center of attraction and the bull rally of bitcoin also brings about a huge level of domination, so at the end, it would be a hard one to catch up with.

I think one of the key features of Ethereum that gives it a good chance or being in the same ball park as Bitcoin or maybe even higher is the fact that it is so enduring and reliable. Honestly i don't think Ethereum could actually beat Bitcoin this year. Maybe if ethereum actually perform well and keep it up for maybe 5 more years or 10 years it would definitely beat bitcoin. Yeah, the reason why btc it is in the top cause of his primordialness. Although alts blockchains based on btc's, but they are improved, and when it will comes to most of people heads, top alts will bit the bitcoin in capitalization. I do not think ETH will pass the BTC on market value, but obviously both currencies have everything to continue with their dominance too far ahead.

Actually they hope a coin can overcome bitcoin, so the future of crypto currency will be better. It will not depend too much on bitcoin.

They think its going to overcome bitcoin because they know ETH is going to have demand for its a utility token and that the tokens using ETH blockchain are going to be needing eth for gas. This will make ETH very much needed for every transactions which is why its price will go up and possibly go more than BTC.

Ethereum is a perfect platform for cryptocurrency. it is better than btc but btc is a market builder. ın my opinion btc will stay as a first.

Ether is based on smart contracts, bitcoin is quite another thing, but they are interrelated and it is not yet clear why bitcoin can skip forward the Ether in this race. But there are chances and hopes, bitcoin is becoming obsolete.

The Ethereum is more technically improved. I really like that the developers of the Ethereum constantly improve this currency. But I don't think at the same time that this currency will overcome Bitcoin in a short time.

Yes, ethereum has different function it be used for payment options at ICO, smart contract and decentralize application dapps in the future, although still there are no many dapps on ethereum's platform, right now ethereum is popular in smart contract. Bitcoin is digital asset and some people use it for currency. I don't think ethereum can overtake bitcoin due to they are different.

I do not think ETH can outperform BItcoin because of the very low ETH development, just look at the price of the ETH that always races with BTC price although the popularity of ETH is very high but in order to compete with BTC will be very difficult.
Maybe now Etherium is like BTC in terms of ranking because there are many tokens that use ERC20.

In actual this type of matters are started since that time when fees for the single transaction of bitcoin become more costly , at that time many experienced people said that it is much better to go with another coin like etherium or dash , and many people tried eth and find that more faster to confirm than what they get confirmation from bitcoin St high fee but in actual they are not understanding that users of bitcoin are more then what we have with etherium , so no competition is with etherium to pay high fee to get confirmation with more priority but in bitcoin lots of users are in queue to confirm Thier transaction at first .
So here surely if people will start etherium at place of bitcoin then etherium will face high fee like bitcoin .
Thus in my opinion bitcoin is king and it will always remain at top and after that anything is best then that is etherium .

Hi, what I am saying is that Bitcoin is way less useful and more robust than other currencies like Ethereum. It’s slow. It has almost no contract functionality, or any privacy features.

Thay think so  because they feel bitcoin will fail and Ethereum  the been the second to all Cryptocurrency will overtake bitcoin but forgetting that Ethereum to tied to bitcoin,so it can never beat bitcoin down

Actually if we realize this how risky the bitcoin market is because I think most of them will choose ethereum for more stability, we've seen it in part because most of the transactions in crypto every day are in an ethereum environment.

Because there many traders and investors lose a lot of money in bitcoin and eth is the one next to bitcoin, So people think eth can surpass bitcoin but It's too early to predict the better things to do is observe what will happen to the future of eth and btc and besides this two great crypto is still gives hope for everyone to become successful in life.

I think maybe people think because the price of Ethereum is growing so fast that people conclude Eth will beat Bitcoin.

if ethereum has many programs in the future, I believe ethereum can compete with bitcoin. but for the moment I see it will not be possible.

Your understanding is right because the fact is no Altcoins can beat Bitcoin at this moment as the current value was $8,000 in which no Altcoin specially Ethereum will surpass this value or even just to equal the present price.The only chances that Ethereum will surpass Bitcoin is if Bitcoin value will dip but right now if Bitcoin will dip all Altcoins will dip too in which still in favor of Bitcoin.

This is because the community who trust and acknowledge ethereum continue to grow.  Many investors switch to ethereum to invest in because it has a cheaper transaction fee compared to bitcoin.  People always compared these two cryptos because among all altcoin, it is only ethereum who has the potential to reach bitcoin value.  But overtaking bitcoin is another matter.  I think no other altcoin can ever replace bitcoin.  Still bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency and nothing can replace it.

Yeah, exactly mate. As we try to recall the performance of ETH is so awesome that makes everyone amaze on its spectacular value. Well, as of this time ethereum is so cheap value that for sure in the future can be profitable since its value reach up to $1,400. Hopefully the value of ethereum could be increase but I don't think it will reach the value of bitcoin, or maybe those people mindset is to make some positive look to ethereum even its impossible to reach the value of bitcoin.
