Back to the topic. The reason why there so many of them these is because they'll get an easy money with it with a little to no investment, have you thought how much they are getting on their coins pre-sale?

We have numerous ICO that's are scam now, their motive is just to chop and go.
If there should be rules and regulations or even regulatory authority that governs the affairs of ICO, that will limit the scam attempt and we'll all be safe from scammer in different ICOs, my thoughts.

Yes we have to be ready that around 90 percent of all ICO are scam and you'll be lucky again if your tokens that you get, will be on exchange. From percent of token that are already on exchange 5 percent will be useful and tokens will take part in human life :)
Why so many scam? Because it's the easiest way to earn (steal) money and all the money from crypto is very difficult to investigate. That's one of the ideas..

Because this is a very easy way to steal other people's money by deceiving investors. The most important thing is to create an attractive product and paint everything beautifully about it, what a bright future it has. And then just disappear...
And in the end you will not prove anything and will not be able to return your investments. Therefore, you need to carefully select projects.

Most people believe in quick money. They invest their money, not knowing about cryptocurrencies. You need to think before to do something. Scammers are everywhere, not only in the cryptocurrency sphere. Be careful.

Because the crypto markets is filled with noobs who will put their money on anything they are hyped with. They wont do their own research and just invest their money on something they read positive about online before thinking twice.

Sometimes, the purpose to create a project ICO, really it is not scam. But as I thought, because their project is too high, the experience has not been steadily, surely, should always difficult, from there, they can not step anymore, so their project failed, so also should not blame anybody , which take responsibility for yourself, not to learn digital project which you are investing.

not all of them are scam, maybe some of them are failed because the project did not reach their softcap or they did not reach their minimum target on that project, it means they failed and thats why you dont get any payment of it

With your one liner explanation im not getting you what went wrong but as your title claims you ended up with the ICO's which were scam. If you had investment into them then you should have triple checked where you are investing your money. ICO's are scammers since teh 2017 start how ever then the scam rate was 1 in 100 and now the scam rate is 99 in 100.  :o

Its not about the bitcoin prices dumping or the market is down sort of thing but its all about ICO scammers themselves. ICO has become the business of making money and they call it quick money making machine. But dont fall for it, thats not for us the investors but it is for the ICO creators!!

We could only stay precautious while investing our money and there is only one way to do it, follow the crowd and follow the path!

Because today the SEC why it requires developers to write some documents to describe their profits, supposedly send scans of documents of investors, and the developers themselves do not check, maybe start with them?

Why do you think there are many scams? I dont think so, you have to do better research, look here and read ANN threads, look on reviews on ICOBench, read whitepapers.

Veteran members or people who are already in this cryptomarket for sometime do already aware on such thing scam ICO are rampant into this market.Why? because this is one of the most easiest way for scammers to get or scam millions of money to its potential investors. Simply creating a coin with some good whitepaper and convincing design then you are good to go but later on they do ran on the funds that being accumulated.Its a sad part into its investors but you should get used to it this is why we should really be careful on investing.

If there is good then evil tries to blend in-between, some people try to fool each other because of their foolish desire using the things that fools wants to hear, like "invest with us and let us return your money x100", most people are attractive to this statement and they don't know that they are being used to gather more money from others too.

Whatever the field we will find the scams for sure, hence you need to tune yourself to keep away from them. This is the reason for many world countries banning ICO projects initially and now completely trying to vanish the cryptos.

That's right, now there's a lot of fraudulent projects. I think it's because crooks have realized that ICO is an easy way to steal money from trusted people. I think over time ICO will evolve and fraudsters will not be able to steal money from people.

why lots of ICO scam? due to the absence of regulations to regulate a new ICO that wants to enter the market. in other words we are free to create an ICO without having to make a license as to where the location of the company and anyone who is founding the ICO. as the rapidly evolving world of cryptocurrency and the ease of making an ICO make this a gap for fraudsters to make fake ICOs.

It is disheartening to see so many scammers, however it shouldn't be surprising given this is the most unregulated market that deals with finance in the world. It's just too easy for people to get away with scamming.
Heck there are even websites where you can generate a blockchain and can generate a whitepaper. Anyone can scam too easily now.

More like, people know that they can make money on cryptocurrencies. That is why there is so many people trying to get coins from the other people.

read the white paper of the project, make sure the project's uniqueness is unique, review the social networks of developers and only after that make a purchasing decision! ico in which I am sure - the European crypto bank!

Because people want to make a quick profit out of naive people who are hoping to invest in “the next bitcoin”. However, even though a large percentage of ICOs are a scam, just because a project is not successful it does not mean it is a scam. Similar to when you “invest” or “pre-purchase” an in development project from Kickstarter. Sometimes the project will arrive and be great, sometimes it will be a POS and sometimes the project will fall half way during production.
Research may help you avoid scams or finding a good project, but there is no guarantee it will bring you a big profit.

Yes, it is true we have so many scam ICO these days, taking advantage of those who cannot differentiate between the legit ICO and the scam ICO. I think most of these scam ICOs are looking for fast money. It only remains that we all need to be very careful. Because more and more scammers are emerging now a days. People who take advantage of other people's carelessness and negligence. there is always a SCAM ICO in the past years but the growth of cryptoworld makes them think that they will penetrate and take some money to investors!

Currently, ICOs are trending towards 2018, when many organizations want to issue their own money for their projects, so many ICOs are released daily. And many of the ICO campaigns were created to trick investors into raising capital from them and then disappearing. So you need to find out about ICO before investing in it, avoid the scam ICOs.

Because there's still so many people that are fool and easy fall on this trap. People should be more careful next time because those scam ICO will not succeed only if people are well educated so you'd better start studying about this market and not be a victim of this scam. 

Actually, there are already plenty of scam ICO even before, its just now that people tend to analyze the project and gives time to do research that's why they see that it was just a scam, we must do research in every transaction we wanted to do.

There are many scams today because they already know that bitcoins are getting high and the scammers will easily be attracted to that kind of amount so they will use whatever source or technologies or any king of scams just to get what you have. Because people believe in crypto without the reason. (and willing to pay money in it). So the "scammer" can easily "scam". People believe in crypto's miracle. The only answer to your question is that, people now days are not ready to work hard to financially secure their lives. So when they see easy way for getting huge amount of money like scams, they become willing to cheat the people. And the fact that crypto market is not regulated by any authority further encourages them to do scams.

I absolutely agree with you. Unless we have some regulations we will have more and more scam projects. But the regulations will bring more problems of not done properly, so the change must be considered very careful.

Theres so many scan in ICO its because of they can get money in easy way with out sacrifices but we can avoid it by being wise, some of them are in the airdrops so we need to check first the detail before signing the airdrops and asking some friends if the airdrops is scam or not.

Scammers are all over the forum or any kind of bussiness. As a part of this forum you need to be wise and alert of all the campaign that you join to avoid scammers. Even in a bounty campaign there are scammers to prevent. You need to know better the campaign before you join so that you will aware if that bounty is trusted.

First of all, a lot of people want sort of "free" money. They are scam from the beginning and to define which one is right- that is your work. There are so many of them just because they know that they can earn from it.

The problem is the greed and avarice of people, even if to just say that is scam, but it will bring a 100 x's, there are a bunch of people willing to invest in it. Many cryptoinvestors do not understand what they are investing in, they just want  choose hype projects. And all sorts of controllers, let something else handle, the crypt should be free from this hell of bureaucracy.

the other coins was falling at that time. maybe they collected some eth and other coins when the price is good, then the price falling later.

When I first did the research for the ICO to be followed. If it's the latter deserves to be fought or not. In order not to get caught up in the ICO scam. Many of the ICO scam because they are selling coins not sold. And they're just looking for investors after the money collected and then taken away, it's very harmful. Everyone is aware of the rampant scam of ICO’s these days. Anyway there are  many ICO doing scams. First they want a easy money out of nothing. And they put a good white paper to attract investors and run the money later on. Its not the ICOs fault that they are scammers but the investors fault, cause if they end up investing in anything they read about that is being hyped than the scammers are going to make a fool out of them. Many project developers don't put a lot of focus on the products they present to the market these days. I think it's a harsh but good lesson for newbies who clearly have been ignoring all red flags and warnings on this forum. Decentralization comes with liberty and liberty comes with responsability. Lots of ICO coming up with intention of raising fund by showing concept . Before entrepreneurs has to reach angel investors or like soft bank kind of big organization to fund . Now it became easy to raise millions of dollar . But lots of projects doesn't even required blockchain solution . Simply they want to raise the fund so they are coming up with blockchain solution. In 2018 ico's 7 out of 10 became loss for investors.

Because everybody wants to make money from the easy way and the fraudsters are evaluating it. That's why we have to be very careful with scam ICOs.

Because it is too easy to lauch the ICO without any regulation in this field. Thats why I prefer investing now in security tokens like LibreCash or Adgex as they operate in strict jurisdiction and wont get scammed for sure. If u will find other security tokens ICOs - take a look at them as well.

Even jurisdiction wont save u to get broke mate. Scam it is not only about stopping the work arond the ICO it is only significantly dropped price for a long time.

People understand that getting money with ICO is quite simple and therefore resort to such methods of fraud. I'm still new in the bounty campaign I hope I am in the right campaign so far the Ico I'm in seems to be a good project and legit maybe double checking the ICO is a big must if you are going to invest, scammers are now going great imitating a real project.

I think that not all ICOs are really scams. I think they are those ICOs that have not gain too much attention from the investors which then failed to reach their softcaps. I also join bounty campaign but i choose well of the project i wanted to participate. Just like what you said many icos today are just fake or scam because people or group of people want to earn money on the most easy way. So they tried to create a fake ico project to scam other innocent people.

Yes we saw lots of scammed icos in last few months. Not only scammed some of them is just failed also. There is many factors behind the scenes. One of then is free and easy to use. It is very easy to develop a ico for some developers. And it is a easy way to put your hands on free money. Almost in no investment you can be a millionaire. Second reason is no regulation. If someone scammed people they can freely roam, charges nothing most of the time. And next is hype and people always put their money in somewhere without research they just need one good media or ads  that's it.
