Hello guys, what do you think, is it possible to compare altcoin and bitcoin? In my opinion it is kind of stupid to compare this crypto currencies, because altcoins and bitcoins are different. Bitcoin has its own benefits, altcoins have got their own benefits, they have got different blockchains, they have different way of use and so on. I just can’t understand people who make topics like: “Altcoins or Bitcoin?”. So what’s your opinion?

Yes, that's hard to compare them, but according to what you want from BTC or altcoins, we can compare them. E.G. If you want to invest into BTC or altcoins, you can choose what you want long term stable investment in BTC or short-term profit by inversting into altcoins.

Yes, I think this is kind of stupid to compare this cryptocurrencies. In any case, not all altcoyins are the forks of bitcoin, but most of it is true. For example, the Ethereum is not the fork of bitcoin, this crypto asset is based on its own code base. In general, there is an opinion that altkoins are a tool that facilitates getting bitcoin, because somehow, it all comes down to selling altcoin and buying bitcoin. On the one hand, I would like the altcoins to be allied with bitcoin. This would mean that the altcoins have the same bright future as bitcoin, and a price increase is possible.

My opinion is that bitcoin and altoquin should be separate. Bitcoin this can be said to be a currency for the whole market of cryptocurrency, and the rest of it is already different companies, projects in which their coin is as shares of the project.

You just compared Bitcoin and altcoins. Your question seems to me philosophic and vague. Maybe like the threads, you are which you are referring to. Because cryptocurrencies are different to each other it makes sense to ask, what cryptocurrency could hit the best in certain situations/circumstances.

You have already has answer!!! And yeah I agree with you Altcoin has their own functions, they might not get popularity like bitcoin but they are much appreciated on their area which you can use them to.

I can compare between Altcoin and Bitcoin in terms of interest and development. because sometimes it often happens when Bitcoin down, good some Altcoin up. but do not compare in terms of price, because it is certain that Bitcoin better than Altcoin.

indeed bitcoin and altcoin something similar in common. but when we deepen again actually is different in many ways. whether it's bitcoin or altcoin has its own purpose and benefits so it's weird if we have to choose dar both. because I think they have advantages and disadvantages of each - each.

Comparing bitcoin and atls are pretty pointless for me. Altcoins are herw because bitcoin founded it. Alt are called alt because they not are bitcoin. Each and every coins including bitcoin has its own use.

Lets say bitcoin is the center of the universe which is the sun ,and those planets around it are the altcoins which is connected to one each other,SUN can survive without the help of the planets,but thees planets or altcoins wont survive without the help or existence of the SUN which is in this case is BITCOIN.That is the most simplest way to compare bitcoin and altcoins ,i hope you have learned enough!

Bitcoin is the father while altcoins are the children. These children have grown in abundance that some are very much shining and boldly preaching the message of cryptocurrency and Blockchain to the whole world. Altcoins n bitcoin are in different leagues

basicly altcoin and bitcoin is the same. than make this both coin different is, Btc is the first coin in cryptoworld and the system blockchain is a new system in that time. after that, people want make a compatitor for this coin. and then appear all of this altcoin like we know today with the new system and new ability but it doesnt can beat BTC.

Very well explained,bitcoin is indeed the center of the blockchain,and these altcoins are the planets that are circulating to bitcoin.If bitcoin has failed or the SUN has died,all of the altcoins will sooner or later going to fail too.Perfect example would be this! that is why bitcoin will always be the one who will rule the altcoins and no altcoin should replace bitcoin.

Actualy in my own thought they are disame coins that can be use in the blockchain market and there main purpose is become a tradable and usable in crypto market as investment trading purposes,I thinks as you stated that they have different blockchain and different benefits, i thinks  thats statements  is irrelevant or ridiculous ,and the main purpose of this having different coins is to have a competition in bussiness in cryptocurrency world .

Bitcoin is the king coin and others are followers. All altcoins follow the bitcoin price. When the price up all coins up when btc down all coins are down too. That is why bitcoin is the king. BTC is still too strong to compete with. ETH and Bch try to compete with bitcoin but the fact they can't until now. New tokens from ICOs are nothing if they have good project and strong team.

Altcoins were fork of bitcoin just like litecoin is a lite coin from bitcoin. In fact they have built from the bitcoin open source code but some smart person are modifying it to increase the complexity and capability to create a new token that compatible to be used on their own platform. Just like a mother for altcoin.

Bitcoin and altcoin are different, I myself am studying them. But what I noticed, bitcoin can be analogous to the parent crypto and altcoin being the one to nurture it even though many are not that way. Bitcoin is more likely to be a long-term investment asset while altcoin for the short term.

totally agree with you. these are different things. the only thing that unites them is that all these are crypto-currencies. but it's like comparing a tractor and a cow, because all this is farming.

Based on what I have learned , Bitcoin and altcoin  are both cryptocurrency wherein many people tends to use these two coin. Bitcoin and altcoin are the same in appearance, both are digital cryptocurrency. The difference between the two is that bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrency while the altcoin follow the BTC and oTher coin like ethereum and such. BTC is the first coin that has been created or can be called as the pioneer coin. Actually, BTC is the center of all coin and other coin is connected to the BTC. And we all know that BTC are the most valuable than rest of all coin.

It's not possible to compare bitcoin with Altcoins because bitcoin is king and till now no coin has come which can beat bitcoin. So comparing bitcoin with altcoins is not a good thing.

I would say that bitcoin is the most valuable cryptocurrency in the world where it should not be compared with altcoins since these coins are just starting to explore in the crypto market. Most of the altcoins were mainly dependent on the bitcoin market performance. If bitcoin goes up, altcoins will later follow and this is my observation everytime it happens.

yes, i just figure it out like why it is also separated on different identity like Bitcoin and ALTcoin, so i think bitcoin and altcoin are really different tools in cryptocurrencies, i agreed if bitcoin and alt can't compare, i might said if bitcoin are gold and altcoin are money, sort of like that i think.

I compare Altcoin and Bitcoin through development. because when viewed in terms of the best price Bitcoin the best. but when the development, Altcoin many who have developed beyond Bitcoin.

Bitcoins are pioneers. The code and concept of bitcoins was created first. All the other altcoins have taken the same open source code of bitcoins and made changes in it for improvements or addition of features.

You can compare Bitcoin to altcoins with regards to their functions and usage. Nowadays, since bitcoin's value is so high it's function as a currency wasn't really used instead as a store of value. Despite the success of bitcoin as a store of value there are still lots of flaws about it being a currency so altcoins were made to correct those flaws that bitcoin has. There are lots of promising altcoins in the market that function or do better than bitcoin when it comes to the main purpose as a currency. We have Eth which has faster and lower fees when transacting than bitcoin do and many more.

The birth of these altcoins is because of the services and some functionalities that bitcoin can't offer so it's not that its stupid to compare because every altcoin is somehow or somewhat relative to bitcoin because they are nothing without bitcoin and the term altcoin won't even exist.

I think that people who ask whether to choose alts or bitcoin think that crypto is about making money only. they are not interested in technology and its development at all. So they choose which coin can bring them more profit.

Bitcoin is universal. It can be used at anything. You can use it to pay someone your debt or you can buy food at kfc or buy things at amazon. It's more of a universal currency. Altcoins on the other hand is purpose based. For example there are altcoins that are used for gambling or tipcoin or utility or even charity.

Many people like me prefer bitcoin because it has given hundreds of thousands to its early investors and it is still on top although the price fell down a lot but it is now rising again. While Altcoin did not get so much popularity and market cap. Therefore I think that bitcoin is better than Altcoin from all aspects. Still many people invest in bitcoin.

I suppose the comparison between altcoin and bitcoin is to know its value. Just like comparing currencies or between money and gold.

There is no necessity to compare this two crypto currencies. I think they have different aims and technical basis, it's obviously.

I only see the price difference between bitcoin and altcoin. for the benefits of a trading and investment, both can benefit greatly.

I can't see the difference, they both are digital coins that are worth the investment and are very profitable if it is held in the long run. and also can be used for transactions, although some altcoins have not been listed.

in my opinion the comparison of bitcoin and altcion is the stability of the cryptocurrensy, many of the factors that cause the stability of the bitcoin price are for example the number of investors investing in bitcoin and its volume is increasing from time to time. unlike the altcoin whose value is unstable because the passage is lower than the others, the altcoin market becomes more prone to price manipulation of much price manipulation as altcoin players inject large capital to buy coins at a low price after which the player will make a profit with how to make altcoin prices even higher than the purchase price.

Bitcoin is in the class of it's own and there is no basis whatsoever for comparison! Just like it has been said over again, bitcoin is tge currency of the future whle altcoin deals with other aspect of interest!

Any other currency did not get the faith and attention of the people as bitcoin. That’s why more and more people are investing in bitcoin. Only Ethereum is another crypto which is now getting the attention of the people worldwide. But still Ethereum is no 2. There is a big difference between both the prices. For me the first choice is no doubt bitcoin and then Ethereum.

I do not think it is possible to compare them. We can understand the particular qualities of such, but they are like kinds of different substances. So, definitely we cannot compare them by just the word "cryptocurrencies".

That's true, I think the most of new people which they already know what's mean cryptocurrencies, they already knew bitcoin and heard about it first. I mean, first they search about bitcoin, and through bitcoin they discover what means cryptocurrencies, so this is the difference. So what is Altcoin or Alternative Coin? Basically, these are the coins that are not Bitcoin. Some are created to solve completely different problems in Bitcoins but some are just coins created because of certain projects. These projects are using blockchain technology to solve real-world problems in various industries.

If you will ask me what to choose between Bitcoin and Altcoin? I will say, it depends on your goal. If your goal is to have great profit but higher risk then you choose AltCoin. Less expensive than Bitcoins but have higher possibility to have greater value in the future.

I see no reason to compare them. Bitcoin is Bitcoin and the alts are the alts. Every altcoin has its purpose and some of them are really useless. But comparing is usually in Bitcoins favor.

I consider crypto like dining table and Bitcoin is the main dish while others are side dishes. It would be boring to eat with just one variant of food. Not to mentions every member of the table have different tastes and likes. Just like crypto, we have different needs and likes and interests, and altcoins will fill those differences.

Bitcoin and Altcoins will compare if. Bitcoin is cheaper than the expensive Altcoins. But all Altcoin is Bticoin based. It is very difficult to have other crypto coins without bitcoin.

it is quite normal to compare them if you are an investor. all of the are based on blockchain technology. some are using different blockchains with different capacity, size and speed. but the truth is most of the people here are investors so it is quite normal to ask which one is more profitable.

Comparison between bitcoins and altcoins is crucial because it plays a big role in explaining other people the difference between the two.Though they are both digital currencies but bitcoin was the strongest and altcoins have been created based on bitcoins concepts.There are lots of existing altcoins nowadays that is also benefecial but some of them has low potential to survive in the market compared to bitcoin by which even votality always happening but it remains at the top that altcoins cannot surpass as of these time.

It depends on what you want to compare. I think it's okay to compare Bitcoin with Altcoin. If you're investor, also you must compare which is more profitable between invest in Alt or BTC.

Of course it is possible, you can compare btc into alt or even in fiat and other things but honestly this be shouldn't. For me, btc is the superior so it's pointless to compare it onto alts because alts is expected to get beaten in every aspect of the game unless btc already fall down from the number 1 spot and replaced by the other (now it will become comparable).

You can still compare bitcoin to altcoins for the benefit of education like block size and speed of transactions but you shouldn't compare it to price value because it is already a different story.

Crypto is the most valuable unit Bitcoin in the world of money. Among the Altcoins, currencies with good project and able to enter the market with a solid team will be as valuable as Bitcoin when it comes time.

I can’t compare  BTC and altcoins because they have too different characteristics and tasks. BTC is like a foundation for altcoins, and alts are developing BTC too.

We can not compare them at all. They can compete to being the top of the cryptocurrency market but they really have a lot of differences ro be compared.

i don't pays attention to such thread about altcoin because bitcoin the first digital currencies that i was introduced 2009 since then over 4500 altcoin has introduced so i see no reason why people will bitcoin as the internet to other such ethereum, litecoin, dash, tron and etc. all this coin has there are own blockchain why some are ethereum blockchain that is why ethereum has been so popular more than any other coin.

From my beginning in the cryptocurrency I have that attitude towards bitcoin and alternative cryptocurrency is that they are not compatible between each other because simply they are different we cannot place the equals sign between them.

In fact, the principles of blockchain technology make fundamentally bitcoin and altcoins the same and the differences in them are more in detail. Bitcoin is the basis of the society's understanding of technology, but the Altcoins already strive to improve this technology and try to apply it in life.

I think there is nothing to compare because both are equally good and can be profitable but with bitcoin, only with bitcoin not with altcoin because altcoin has many options because with Altcoin because in altcoin you can look for altcoin that you like and promise for investment

I think altcoin and bitcoin are almost same. The only different about them is altcoin got many token while bitcoin didnt have. He is only one currency not like altcoin

I think that bitcoin and altcoins should be separated simply by the fact that their uses are different, you could argue that they use the same technology (blockchain) and the same philosophy (for some decentralization) but it is like comparing oranges to apples, but of course people will always have the doubt because bitcoin is the first coin they knew and that's why all the altcoins are usually compared to this one.

I think they just want to consult people about investing in better altcoins or better bitcoins. They are new traders and they need our guidance.

 actually if for me I never compared bitcoin and altcoin, because there are those who think that altcoin is a tool that facilitates getting bitcoin. in my opinion altcoin will also develop in the following years
